i'm thinking about how smooth and confident thorin would be once he is certain bilbo loves him. his awkwardness and missteps in the beginning are because he was unsure if bilbo felt the same way, but once he knows, thorin drives bilbo maaaaaadddd. fucking leaning over his shoulder and ghosting his breath over bilbo's sensitive ears. overwhelming him with the scent of his hair oil, strong and smoky. just like his voice. yavannah bilbo is soo gone

“But Nothing’s working!!”
LOA explained
Pure consciousness explained
Well duh you made that assumption so now nothing is going to work for you. The sad part about this community is most of you are searching for the same thing over and over and over when creators are literally giving you the answers IN their blogs. like what more do you want? Do you want someone to say you need to listen to 432HZ to manifest your goals? that you need to dance in circle and chant 999 times for your desires? No. The Law of assumption is literally always active. like ALWAYS. Everything you assume is going to be put out there because its an assumption.
What really irks me is when people say you have to “gaslight” yourself into thinking you have your desire, which kind of contradicts the whole point of law of assumption, why would you need to gas light yourself if you know you already have it..? yeah.. those two things don’t mix. Let me go over what an assumption is.. which clearly seems so hard for this community to understand.
The Law of Assumption is when you assume something to be true without needing proof.. Why do you lack critical thinking skills when the whole law basically explains what it is.
You don’t get what you want. You get what you decide. Why is the law of assumption being so overly complicated for no reason. None of yall did this with the Law of Attraction so why are you doing this with the Law of Assumption?? This also goes with inducing pure consciousness.. i hate bringing this topic up so much because people will take my words and make it into the world’s hardest problem in history. Imagine one day you DECIDE to induce pure consciousness and you say “hmm okay today i induced pure consciousness instantly! :D” And then imagine you get comfy and just breathe and then you suddenly induce the pure consciousness. wow so easy right? because you didn’t say “i want to induce pure consciousness” instead you said it like it ALREADY happened. Wants and Decisions are very different so keep that in mind.
What is pure consciousness? basically just a state detached from the physical world NO you’re not leaving the physical world, no you’re not teleporting, you’re basically in like a state of where worries don’t exist and you’re your “highest” self.
Clearing up misinformation.
No you don’t have to be in a deep relaxation
No you don’t need subliminals
No you don’t need a “void” routine
No you don’t need sats
No you don’t need to affirm mindlessly throughout the day
No you don’t need to meditate
No you don’t need frequencies
No you don’t need to be lucky
Yes you can swallow
Yes you can move
Yes you can breathe
Yes you can have inner conversations
Yes you can count to 2 billion
No it won’t start over if you sneeze
You’re literally human doing any of these things won’t affect your outcome when inducing pure consciousness. Whoever said you need to be lucky is beyond stupid btw. Whoever said you need symptoms to induce it, is… WRONG!! you are taking pure consciousness and seeing it as the most hardest thing in the world when its not, you literally induce pure consciousness when you’re asleep you’re just unaware because you’re sleeping.
Example putting the sleep state and pure consciousness (they are not the same thing but do have similar remedies). Imagine you’re getting ready to sleep after showering and doing your nightly routine if you have one. Your main goal after all of that is to just basically GO to sleep right? you’re not even worried about how you’re going to go to sleep you’re just going to do it. Now imagine you’re going and inducing pure consciousness what you should mainly be focused on is NOTHING, not time, not what, if, how, it, so, why, then, where. NO! just let go guys..
Just Breathe, its okay you will (WRONG WORD) you already have it all, just live. its okay reminder the 4D is the true reality and the 3D has no choice but to reflect to what is shown in the 4D or what is SAID by you.

i LIVE for the nurse!reader work!!! i was wondering if you could do more nurse!reader where jason gets badly injured during patrol and she has to like stitch him up
OR
one where shes training as a family doctor and jason walks in on her comforting a little kid while she gives him an injection/shot?
either one is fine!
btw...YOUR WRITING IS SO COMFORTING
omg thank you!! I'm so happy my writing brings comfort to people. I usually use writing as a way to bring comfort to myself 😂
This can be read as both a stand alone and a sequel to Meet Cutes, my original Nurse!Reader work! It's not necessary to read Meet Cutes to read this

Jason Todd x Nurse!Reader || Fluff Word Count: 2,014 Warnings: Blood, stitches, concussion, brief nod to Jason’s death by the mentioned date (April 27th)
2/6 fic of the line up! there was no way in hell i was getting them all out by his birthday I have no idea what I was on when I said that (pain killers. it was pain killers) (prescribed pain killers)
Tumblr media
It was an unbearably hot night in Gotham. One that had Jason shucking his thick leather jacket off and fisting it in his hand as he stumbled through the alleyways.
Stupid Killer Croc. Stupid sewers. Stupid heat for making the sewers smell even worse. Stupid him for letting that oversized lizard get the jump on him.
Jason enters the clinic through the back door, as per usual. He didn’t need you getting caught up in vigilante problems just because people had seen him coming and going from this place.
The bright lights of the clinic have him flinching, his head pounding inside his helmet casing. He closes the door behind him by leaning against it. He hisses, pressing the fabric of his jacket to the bloody gash on his left shoulder blade. His armour had cracked off in a jagged line, leaving the flesh exposed. Killer Croc had used it as a nice place to sink one of his claws in when he picked Jason up off the disgusting sewer floor. It wasn’t bad. Fairly deep, but, as he usually told you, he’s had worse.
Usually, with injuries as simple as this, Jason would go to his nearest safe house and tend to it all himself. But, with this particular wound, he couldn’t reach around without his shoulder screaming in pain, nor without potentially giving himself the shittiest stitches known to man.
Best he could do for now is clamp his jacket to it with his right hand. Second best thing he could do was trip and stumble his way through Gotham, making wrong turns and headed in five different directions before he had picked the right one.
His head was stuffed with cotton. Maybe sewage. He wanted his helmet off, too suffocating for him in the moment, but he didn’t have his domino mask on.
Jason knew you were always the last one working. You would come in a few hours later than your other coworkers, just so you could keep the clinic open just that much longer for the unwilling victims of Gotham's nightly activities.
He wasn’t a part of those victims. Jason was one of the willing ones.
All in all, he admired you for your effort. A small star in a smog filled night sky. Brighter than what people realized.
Jason stepped towards your office door. It was open giving him a solid directory. His steel toes felt heavy on his feet. That’s what he’s blaming for the fact that he tripped over his own feet, his head swimming.
Jason fell against the door frame. His left shoulder hit the edge, pulling a deep groan of pain from him. He bumped into the door, sending it flying into the wall. He finally regained his balance, still leaning his head on the frame.
He faintly registered your gasp of surprise.
“Hood!" you cried, jumping up from your office chair, stepping closer, "What happened? What's wrong?"
Jason hated the way he gravitated towards you. He leaned into your touch when you grabbed a hold of his arm to steady him, to move him closer into the room.
This is weakness. He thought briefly through the thick fog surrounding him. Relying on some nurse. He should've never let himself get close to you. You don't even know his name. Or what his face looks like. But having you run to his aid with such a worried expression on your face is far too close to have you.
"Lay down. On your stomach."
Jason blinked. Your voice brought him back to the present, his head still spinning. He was sitting on the cot, pushed up against the wall. His jacket was hanging off the back of your office chair, bloody. The shoulder of his shirt cut off by your scissors, revealing part of his chest and back, too.
He doesn't remember any of that. Maybe he is in worse shape than he thought.
"Hood. Lay your ass down."
Jason followed your orders, "You have such graceful bedside manner, Nurse."
You scoff, already slipping your gloves on and dissinfecting yourself, ready to work.
You applied the stinging disinfectant to Jason's skin, making him suck in a sharp breath. The noise sounded odd, yet still recognizable through his voice modulator, "More like Nurse Ratched."
You pout, confused, "Who?"
Jason sighs, feeling his cheeks burn a little, "Nevermind..."
Your silent for a while, continuously threading the needle through Jason's skin as you pull it together.
"So..." you drawl out. "You gonna tell me how this happened?"
Jason was silent for another moment, "Mmmm... would if I could focus right now, sweetheart."
You paused on the last stitch, "Hm?"
He shifted his head lightly, peering at you through the corner of his vision, "What?"
You let out a breathy laugh, "I'm guessing you hit your head, too?"
Jason let out another robotic hum, "Got thrown into a wall."
"Did you now?" You step back from him, finished your work.
Jason nodded, "Lizard."
Stifling another laugh you started to clean up your tools, "You got thrown into the wall by... by a lizard?"
Jason didn't move, his speech a little slurred, "Fuckin' overgrown murder lizard..."
“Murder Lizard?”
He briefly waved a hand in dismissal, “Whatever his name is.”
“…Killer Croc?”
“…yeah. Him.”
You tapped his gloved hand, "Can you sit up and answer some more questions for me, Hood?"
Jason groaned as he pushed himself back up, moving slow. Once he was up, his head began to pound all over again. He reached up, pressed the release button under his jaw. A small hissing sound of the releasing pressure sounded.
He saw you stiffen, your eyes a little wide in shock, "What are you doing?"
“'s fine. I trust ya," He lifted the red helmet off until you were able to see his whole face. He remembered that not even a domino mask was hiding his eyes in the moment "'sides. It's too tight f'r me right now."
Jason believed he was a sight to see. All scars, disheveled hair, the yellowing bruise along the right side of hjs jaw from a few weeks ago, his crooked teeth and his crooked nose. Your eyes were wide, taking him in. He couldn't tell if it was in fear, shock, or awe. He was so much better at reading people, usually.
“I know,” a small smirk tugged at his lips, the right side of it staying lower due to the pain of his bruise, “Much more of an ugly mug then you were expecting, eh sweetheart?"
He saw you narrow your eyes. You didn’t like that comment. He could tell. What did he say? Nothing but his own truth.
…did I just fucking call you ‘sweetheart’?
A beam of light entered his vision.
He cringed back, "Ugh!"
You held up your small flashlight, switching it between Jason's eyes, "When were you born?"
Jason blinked rapidly, rubbing at his eyes now that you had pulled away the light. “April 27th,” he paused, pinching the bridge of his nose. “No. Fuck. That’s not it.”
You opened your drawer again and put the flashlight away, “You have a concussion.”
"No shit," His head was pounding to the point he could hear it in his ears.
"I'll let you go on two conditions."
Jason kept his eyes on you. He enjoyed the sight of your face much better than that agonizing light.
“First. Promise to rest up,” you gave him a pointed look.
Jason shrugged. He’d try.
“Promise.”
He groaned, “Fine. I promise.”
You looked pleased with yourself. He tried to push away the want to put that look on your face all the time.
“Second. Call somebody you know and trust to drive you home.”
He looked away from you. There was no one he trusted with that info. His safe house or this clinic. Or you.
“Fine,” you rolled away in your chair and pulled out a pen and paper. “Go get changed into some civilian clothes and I’ll call you a taxi.”
“You’re not payin’ for that,” Jason said quickly. His head hung low as his head pounded to the beat of his heart.
“That’s fine,” you pulled a roll of gauze from your drawer and stepped closer to him. “Do you have any Alieve or Tylenol at home?”
He barked out a laugh that ricocheted through his skull, “With how much I’m in here? Who do you think I am?”
You gave him a deadpan look. You began wrapping his shoulder and his stitches.
He gave a small smirk. He liked looking at your face. A nice sight for his sore eyes.
He blinked again. You were very close to him. His heart picked up in time with the throbbing of his skull.
He looked away, scowling.
Weakness.
“If I give you anything, I have to write down who I’m giving it to. It’s policy, I’ll need a name. Do you have alieve or tylenol at home Red?”
Jason let out a hum. He leaned forward pinched his nose bridge in thought again. Everything was fuzzy, “Maybe?”
“What name am I writing then?”
He didn’t even think to hesitate. He registered how that was a bad thing, but his concussion was stopping him from thinking properly. “Jason Todd.”
You let out a laugh right next to his ear.
He flinched, wincing at the sound, “What?”
“That’s the fakest name I’ve ever heard.”
It took him a second to register what you meant. That was his name. You were one of the few he had actually introduced himself to as himself in a while, and you didn’t believe it was his name.
You finished wrapping his bandages and stepped away. He found himself missing the warmth. “Mhmm. What address are you gonna give me now? 1234 Main Street?”
He scowled a little more than he already was. He felt his ears burn, “567 Main Street North.” It was one of his safe houses he was getting rid of soon. A place no one would find him by the end of the week.
You laughed again. It grated on his ears, but he was sure it’d be music without this concussion.
The rest of his visit was a bit of a blur. You told him to go change into civilian clothes. He remembers telling you it was fine, that he didn’t mind having the Red Hood be seen taking a taxi. You reminded him his shirt was half torn off. He put his armour back on and zipped up his jacket over top. You were calling a taxi by the time he had gotten his helmet back on.
The entire time he was trying to guess what your laugh sounded like normally. Surely he’s heard it before? Why couldn’t he remember?
Right. The concussion.
Red Hood was stepping out the door of your office when you called after him.
“Stay safe.”
He let out a small laugh, looking back over his shoulder at you, “Never do, sweetheart.”
You laughed too and he felt his ears burn again. He needed to shut up and stop letting that slip.
“That’s the third time you’ve called me that.” You crossed your arms, leaning back in your chair. “You must really be out of it.”
Jason frowned behind his helmet. He doesn’t remember three times.
…okay maybe two. But not three.
You gave a knowing smile, ignoring it, “You just have to make sure I always have my work cut out for me, don’t you?”
Jason smiled behind the helmet, “I like seeing you.”
He wanted to bash his head against that brick wall again. Especially when your grin got a little wider and his face got a little hotter.
“‘Kay, bye.” He walked out before you could respond.
Jason never did wait for the taxi. He left through the back door like always and made his trek back to the closest safe house. He clutched the box of tylenol he had stuffed in his pocket, feeling the tug of his stitches when he found his bike and revved the engine before peeling away into the night.

ok ok heavily inspired by your gojo drabble (truly a masterpiece btw) and a disgusting overuse of niichan. I came home after drinking one night and my pussy typed this word vomit all by herself
Sitting on your niichan’s lap while he brushes your hair has long since become a nightly routine before bed. The soothing feeling of being held and cared for by him was always just the thing to get you nice and sleepy. But things have changed now that you’ve grown, niichan’s breaths come out in short warm puffs at your nape whenever you shift in his lap. His always gentle grip tightening ever so slightly on your hip. And there’s something warm and hard that presses right into the crotch of your panties that makes your tummy feel funny. You finally gather the courage to ask about it but niichan says it’s only natural for that to happen. It means he’s healthy, don’t you want your niichan to be in good health? You want him to feel good right? Good, of course you do. You’re his good little sister after all now let niichan do his thing and brush your hair before bed. No no it’s okay if he pulls you down firmer onto him, you’re all grown up now so he has to make sure you don’t fall. And it’s okay if that hard thing rubs against your panties, it’s not like you don’t like it right? Do you like it? Why don’t you let niichan check? After all, he has to make sure you’re in good health too. Oh look at that, you do like it. You’re shining nice and pretty down there, that’s because of niichan you know? Yeah of course it’s okay if he touches you down there look how sticky his fingers are getting, that’s a good thing. Niichan has something that’ll feel even better. You trust him right? No no it’s okay, he knows it’s big but so are you right? You’re all grown up now and niichan can’t help himself but you’ll help him right? Of course you will. You’re always so good for him now why don’t you sit back down on his lap so you and niichan can start a new nightly routine.
This is SoooooOOOOO!!!!!! YEEEEEAAAAAAAA IM GONNA Have mY MAGICAL Girl transformation!!! I loVE SATORU NIIIII I love this omg omg your brain nonnie thank you for senDING THISSSSS

hii!! I just read cold spots and it was AMAZING!!! Im not sure if you wanted to continue the fic, but if you don’t mind could you continue with Veres part? I don’t know what you would write about but I just feel like that fic has so much potential to be a little 3 part series or something 🙏
<- Cold Spots TYSM ANON!! I put the Vere End at the beginning for ease of reading. For the sake of folks who would like to read this as a stand-alone... I think u can? With the knowledge that the premise of Cold Spots is that Mhin and MC/Sparrow went ghost hunting. Vere is said to have been responsible for a handful of local ghost stories, so…of course he makes some mischief.🦊 Also MC needs some Winter wear, stat.  A very light Possessive Vere warning in this btw, though perhaps in a roundabout way.  Plausible deniability is so important to him.
You putter around in your room at the Wet Wick as you go about your nightly routine. The occasional cheer or thud from below only accentuates your nervous energy, punctuating your reluctance to settle down and get into bed. You smooth the covers with your bandaged hands and fluff the pillow before extinguishing the lamplight. You tug the bedding up above your shoulders, fighting to get comfortable. As your eyelids finally start to droop, the flicker of a shadow catches your attention.   It dances and sways and bends and grows until suddenly it is right in front of you.  On top of you. Silken, blood red drips down onto your face, a knife gleam smile too close for comfort.  You breathe in a gasp, wondering if you should scream. “Vere, what–” “Shhh,” he coos, pressing a finger lightly to your lips.  His breath is hot against your skin. “I only came to keep you warm, pet.”
Heat Signature
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Poor thing.” Vere purrs.  “Your lips are so cold.”  He leans ever closer, his mouth hot over yours–hovering.  His other hand reaches for your face as well, nails trailing against your cheek in a teasing caress.
You feel even the thought of being cold leave your body, replaced instead by the unusual thrill he commands, that strange enthralling sway.
That heat you’ve come to associate with Vere; sweet tendrils of want that nestle in your bloodstream.
You squirm a little, though you can’t move much with him looming over you.
(You should probably do more to protest his intrusion into your room, you think to yourself, though, the majority of you is–curious, daresay even far too eager to–)
“Whatever trouble did you get up to that left you in such a state?”
At this you scoff, tilting your head back into the pillow and effectively knocking Vere’s finger from your lips.
“As if you don’t know,” you accuse.
Vere looks entirely unperturbed by you shaking him off, his lithe fingers traveling freely along the newly displayed skin of your throat, making your pulse jump.
Vere chuckles at that, dark and silky.
“Being tight lipped about your adventures, hm?”  He angles your face just so, ensuring you meet his sharp eyes, his nose brushing up against yours.  “Not that it matters.  It so happens I do know what you’ve been up to.  Trespassing in places that don’t belong to you.”
“...It was an abandoned building.  I don’t think it really belonged to anyone.”
“And that’s where you’d be wrong,” Vere says, “everything in this city belongs to someone, darling.  You just don’t know what belongs to who yet.”  He peers down at you with laughter in his expression, though there's a distinct edge to it that you can't quite place.
“So, you're here because that building belongs to you...?”
“Hmm, amongst other things.  However shall I make you apologize to me for this most egregious offense?”  He asks airily, shifting until he’s beside you rather than perched over you, resting his cheek in his hand and letting his eyes slip closed. He's the absolute picture of unbothered leisure.
(You’re not fooled–he’s simply waiting for you to let your guard down before he pounces.)
You open your mouth to deny any debts on your part (though, if your ghost hunting spot was indeed Vere’s hideout, you really do feel guilty) but Vere cuts you off before you can speak.
“Alas, I suppose it’s not mine anymore.  Within a week it will reek of wet dogs and cheap booze. It's a lost cause now that those drooling reprobates know it's inhabitable.  A pity.  By Eridia's standards it really was divine in its heyday.  Good wine, music, dancing.  There was this portrait artist who would paint the performances…”
His tone remains light as he reminisces.  But the look he pins you with is dangerous: his eyes gleaming bright, his canines bared in an irreverent grin.
“I had such hopes and dreams of reviving the place myself.  Some of the dances were very scandalous.  You never did share with me your stance on dancing, did you?”
You stumble out an approximate answer.  It’s…harmless information to give, isn’t it?
Though, judging by how pleased Vere looks, you wonder if you should have refused to say.  He looks positively wicked as he ponders your answer aloud.  “Oh, I’m sure you’ve got plenty of talents to share.  In another life, perhaps I'd have put you on stage.  Though, I admit.  I find myself partial to a private show.”
And–as expected–the moment you let your guard down, he's in your space again, crowding you.  Heat and proximity and the softest brush of his lips against yours, light enough to send a thrill down your spine, curiosity and a want so deep it surprises you.
“Well?”  He purrs.  “Care to audition?”
You can't hide behind the excuse of supernatural sway or charm or the thrall of hypnotic sunglo eyes.  It's not Vere's power that controls you. It's your own gnawing desire; starvation and longing that draws you to him despite all sense.
Kissing Vere is heady.  Dizzying.
Kissing Vere is like being in conversation with Vere–a constant of giving and taking, being chased after and running to keep up.  It’s enticing and alluring and decadent and never quite enough, over too soon even as you feel yourself losing air, the rush of blood and sensation threatening to overwhelm you.
He gives a parting nip to your bottom lip as he pulls away.
Then another one, playful, to your jaw.
When he presses his face into the side of your neck, you expect him to bite again.
What you don’t expect is for him to nuzzle into you, inhaling deeply before heaving a great sigh, his tail flopping lazily to land across you with a thump.
He’s officious as he rearranges the covers, ensuring your arms are tucked carefully away from him before he’s willing to fully settle into the bedding, pulling the blankets up around the both of you like a den.  He hums something low in his chest as he tucks himself up alongside you, long tail curled around your waist.
It’s rhythmic–
purring.
And it’s…soothing, actually.
The weight of him, the warmth.  The incessant lamplight of the Amaryllis District, shining ever present through your window, is dim–tolerable, even, courtesy of Vere's magnificent shadow manipulations and the blankets sheltering you.
The constant noise seems to fade away as well, obscured by the sound of purring. “Falling asleep when you have me in your bed, pet?  You really do try your luck…”

Of course, peace was never an option.
You were rudely jolted awake by the sound of a door slamming—again. Your body jerked so violently that you nearly fell off your bed, barely catching yourself on the edge. The thumping in your chest was a mix of lingering exhaustion and sheer irritation. You had almost landed yourself a third visit to the doctor, which was something you wished to avoid after what happened the before.
“What the hell do you want?" you snarled, sitting up with a scowl, blinking against the dim light of the room.
Leaning casually in the doorway was the same infuriating man from earlier. He wore his usual cocky smirk, the kind that made you want to throw something sharp or heavy at him. “Several things, sweetheart, but I’m afraid you won’t like some of the answers," he drawled, his eyes looking you up and down with amusement.
You threw him a scandalised look, crossing your arms over your chest. "Don’t call me that," you snapped, glaring daggers at him. Your attitude only seemed to amuse him more as he chuckled.
“Alright, alright," he raised his hands in mock surrender, still grinning like a stupid cat. "I’ll tell you the real reason I’m here. The captain needs you again—something about getting us out of here. He said we’re through the darkest parts of the cave, and the light’s slowly coming back.”
You groggily glanced at your wristwatch, confirming that about two hours had passed since you’d last checked. If the captain was right, you were nearly through the treacherous part of the cave and would soon be back in open waters. The thought gave you just the slightest bit of relief.
“Take me to him. We have much to discuss,” you said, standing up and brushing the sleep from your eyes.
“Mmm, much to discuss, huh?” he teased, a sly look on his face.
You rolled your eyes, exasperated. “It’s navigation stuff, don’t make it sound like that! And who even are you to question it? Don’t you have a job to do?”
A mischievous glint lit his eyes. “Ah, of course. You don’t know me yet.” He straightened up dramatically, as if preparing for an introduction on stage. “Jung Wooyoung, lookout extraordinaire and your new favourite person. Pleased to meet you." He extended a hand to you.
You scoffed, swatting his hand away. "Favorite? In your dreams, Wooyoung."
Unfazed, he continued, “Also, I do have a job, but right now there’s absolutely nothing to look out for in this cave, so I decided to come here and annoy you.”
You groaned, rolling your eyes yet again as he grinned wider. "Great," you muttered sarcastically, already regretting your decision to ask him anything. Now that you knew his name, though, you were definitely adding him to your nightly list of people to curse.
As you both walked toward the main deck, you noticed something off about Wooyoung. In the dim, flickering light of the corridor, his presence seemed… shadowy, almost as if he wasn’t fully there. You kept glancing at him out of the corner of your eye, but it was hard to tell if it was just the darkness playing tricks on you.
He stayed silent for once, which was even more disturbing than his usual cheeky remarks. Occasionally, he whistled quietly under his breath, but the quiet of the cave made the sound echo strangely around you.
Finally, you reached the deck, and there was Captain Hongjoong—still wearing his damn sunglasses even though darkness enveloped the entire cave. He stood completely still, even with the rocking of the ship, his hands clasped behind his back as he gazed out toward the dimly glowing exit of the cave.
You stepped up beside him, unsure whether to interrupt his thoughts. “Captain,” you finally mumbled.
He turned slightly, just enough to glance at you from behind his sunglasses. “You’ve rested,” he stated more than asked.
“Not really,” you replied, loosening up a little, “but I hear we’re almost through. I’ve come to discuss our next course of action.”
“Good,” Hongjoong replied, nodding. “We’re almost at the exit, and I want you to confirm our path as soon as we’re out of the cave. I’ll not have any more surprises. Not today.”
You glanced back at the looming cave walls, the jagged rocks jutting out as the ship slowly stirred forward. If you had estimated correctly, you’d make it through soon—hopefully without the ship scraping against the sharp edges.
“Once we’re in open waters again, we’ll head for the eastern port towns. But after we dock, there’s another matter I need you to assist with, something a little different than what your job entails” Hongjoong said plainly.
“What matter?” you asked warily.
He waved you off, “All in good time, navigator. For now, let’s focus on getting through.”
Before you could question him further, he turned away, dismissing you. Typical. The man was near impossible to read, always playing out his cards carefully.
With a sigh, you nodded and made your way toward the main deck, tired of all the cryptic talk. Beside you, Wooyoung offered a lazy grin, his earlier silence breaking. You had almost forgotten he was there, almost. "So, what do you think? Captain’s got another fun surprise lined up for us?"
"Probably something that might get us killed or worse," you muttered, shaking your head.
"Wouldn’t be a normal day without it," he chuckled.
You stared at him in shock. "Wait, what? This kind of stuff happens every day!?"
He tipped his head back. "Every. Single. Day. You’ve not seen the worst of it yet" he said, cackling as he sauntered away, leaving you standing there, mouth agape.
Before you could even process what he'd said, a gentle but rough hand came out of nowhere and closed your mouth for you. Startled, you whipped around, hair flying out and smacking the person behind you, who groaned in response.
"Ow, that hurt," the deep voice groaned. It was that tall beefy man with the baby face, the one with the figet dagger. You hadn’t really seen him in a while, and now, here he was, standing right behind you.
"Why are you here?" you asked, narrowing your eyes.
"Captain sent me to train you," he said matter-of-factly.
Your brow furrowed. "Train me for what?"
He just smirked and without another word, grabbed your hand and began dragging you toward the lower deck. You stumbled along behind him, still lethargic and bewildered. Light had just started filtering in as the ship neared the end of the cave, casting long shadows across the wooden floorboards.
When you finally came to a stop near one of the secluded corners of the main deck, it was in front of a large, leather-bound case, big enough to hold a person. You eyed it dubiously. "Are you trying to lock me up or something?"
He just gave you a big smile, showing off his teeth, offering no answer as he bent down and popped open the case. The lid creaked loudly, revealing an array of weapons—swords, daggers, even a few guns.
Your stomach dropped. "Wait—are you going to kill me? Captain Hongjoong said I was useful!" you shrieked, taking a step back.
The man laughed, his deep voice rumbling through the air. "Relax. I'm just teaching you some basic combat skills so you can defend yourself when we dock."
You blinked, incredulous. "What do you mean 'defend myself'? How dangerous can the people there be?"
He straightened up, closing the case for now, and turned to you with an amused smile. "Well, they’re not that dangerous, but captain's orders are captain's orders. Gotta do what I gotta do."
You groaned, realizing there was no way you were getting out of this. Maybe you should fake sickness. “And you’re the one teaching me? My head hasn’t even healed completely yet!” you argued, pouting angrily.
The man chuckled. He sure found this all amusing, “You’re safe for now, relax. My name is Mingi, by the way”
You rolled your eyes. “Alright, Mingi. Let’s get this over with.”
He clapped his hands together, eyes gleaming with enthusiasm. "That’s the spirit! Now, let’s start with something easy."
He pulled out a lightweight dagger and handed it to you, guiding your hand to grip it properly. As he began explaining how to hold and wield the weapon, you could feel the absolute absurdity of your situation. Just a day ago, you were quietly navigating maps and casually dodging storm flashes, and now you had to learn how to stab people—for your own protection, apparently.
Mingi’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts. "Focus, or you might hurt yourself, before someone else can even try to" he said, his tone reprimanding but gentle. You nodded, trying to focus on his instructions.
As he moved behind you, adjusting your stance and positioning your hands, you realised that despite his intimidating size, Mingi wasn’t nearly as unnerving as you first thought. He was patient, explaining everything in detail and offering tips as you clumsily practised a few basic moves.
“Not bad,” Mingi said after a while, stepping back to observe your progress. “For a beginner, you’ve got decent instincts.”
Your ego swelled ever so slightly, at his words, though you were far from being a pro. “Thanks, I guess,” you said, slightly out of breath.
“Alright then, we’ll wrap it up for now. Captain doesn’t need you killing anyone yet,” he said with a wink, sheathing his own blade with ease.
You handed the dagger back to him, relieved to be done. “Well, that was… fun?”
Mingi just laughed again, leading you back toward the centre of the main deck. “You’ll thank me later. Trust me.”
The open sea was finally visible ahead, you had just passed the exit. Hongjoong still stood at the helm, a satisfied smile on his face, happy to be out of the claustrophobic cave.
You glanced at Mingi, who gave you a nod before heading off to god knows where. You took a deep breath, feeling both exhausted and relieved.
As you made your way back towards Captain Hongjoong, you spotted Seonghwa standing beside him, still as a statue. His sharp, delicate features made him look almost princely, if it weren’t for his hollowed cheeks and the dark circles under his eyes. You couldn’t help but wonder if they fed him enough—or, for that matter, if anyone on this ship had eaten at all. With everything that had happened, food had completely slipped your mind.
Reaching Hongjoong, you tapped him lightly on the shoulder. He turned to face you, his body language telling you he’s exhausted despite him trying not to show it al all.
“Hey, since we’re past the cave’s exit,” you said, quickly moving to the more important matters. “From here, we need to travel westward for about three hours, then head north once we pass the last island on the peninsula. It’ll take us approximately another day to reach the eastern ports.”
He nodded, looking less burdened as you spoke. “I see. Good work,” he said, pausing for a second efore continuing, “We need to discuss your role when we dock. We’re not exactly welcome there, if you catch my drift.” His lips managed to curl into a small smirk. “But there’s a man who’s willing to host us while we take care of some… business.”
“Is that the man you mentioned earlier?” you asked, curiosity piqued.
“No, it’s my—"
Before he could finish his sentence, your stomach growled loudly, cutting him off. Your eyes widened in mortification as you slapped a hand over your mouth, cheeks burning red with embarrassment. You hadn’t realized how hungry you actually were until this moment.
Hongjoong stared at you for a beat, and then, to your surprise, he burst into laughter. “You haven’t eaten in a while, have you?” he asked between breaths, his usual stoicism gone.
You shook your head, mumbling a quick “no” as you tried to disappear into the floor from sheer embarrassment.
“That’s okay,” he said, still chuckling. “You should head to the kitchens. We’ll discuss the plan when everyone’s together.” He turned to Seonghwa, who remained as still and composed as ever. “Seonghwa, show her the way. Make sure she doesn’t get lost—and for God’s sake, make sure you eat something, too.”
Seonghwa nodded, the corners of his lips twitching. He caught your gaze, and with a subtle gesture, indicated that you should follow him. Your face still burning, you gave Hongjoong a quick, flustered nod. “Thank you, Captain. Sorry ‘bout that,” you muttered before quickly following after Seonghwa.
Hongjoong waved you off, still chuckling. “Don’t worry about it. Get some food.”
As you walked through the dimly lit corridors with Seonghwa, the ship gently swayed in time with the waves, and you could still feel your cheeks burning from embarrassment. Seonghwa, of course, said nothing, his footsteps light and quiet as he led the way.
After a few minutes of walking in silence, you mustered up enough courage to speak. “So… do you actually eat?” you asked, chuckling awkwardly.
Seonghwa glanced at you out of the corner of his eye, his expression impassive. “On occasion,” he replied dryly.
You snorted, relieved that he had a sense of humor, however subtle. “Well, it didn’t seem like it. You look like you haven’t slept or eaten in days.”
He raised an eyebrow but didn’t reply, leading you down another set of stairs toward what appeared to be the ship’s galley. “There you go,” Seonghwa said, gesturing toward the entryway of the kitchen and dining hall. “Wooyoung should be around here somewhere. He usually handles the meals.”
Your eyes widened at the mention of Wooyoung. “Oh, interesting. Thanks, Seonghwa.”
Seonghwa gave a short nod. “I’ll make sure to eat something too, later” he added, a hint of teasing in his tone before turning to leave.
“Wait—where are you going?” you asked, feeling a bit more comfortable around him now.
“To report back to the captain,” he replied, “and to rest. Unlike you, I haven’t gotten a break yet.”
You felt a bit guilty for holding him up, but you smiled weakly at his dry sense of humor anyway. “Alright, see you later.”
With that, Seonghwa disappeared into the shadows once again, leaving you to explore the galley in search of Wooyoung—and most importantly, food. You wandered further down the corridor, and soon, the delicious scent of something cooking hit your nose sharply. You nearly started drooling right there and then. The aroma was rich and savoury, with the perfect combination of spices, and it drew you in like a moth to a flame.
You groaned at the prospect of a filling meal. You followed the scent with your nose up in the air, your feet moving almost on autopilot as the hunger gnawed at your stomach. Soon enough, you found yourself standing in the large kitchen and dining area, which made sense considering there were about thirty crewmen aboard—not including the eight others. The kitchen was bustling, but what really caught your attention was Wooyoung, standing at the stove, cooking himself.
You weren’t entirely sure of what you had expected, but it definitely wasn’t this. When Seonghwa said Wooyoung handled the meals, you thought he meant something more along the lines of rationing supplies or managing food storage. Seeing him actually cooking made you slightly sceptical. The mischievous pirate who had spent most of his time getting under your skin was now handling sharp knives and hot pans—what could possibly go wrong?
Curiosity piqued, you walked closer, hovering around him until he noticed you, peeking over his shoulder as he tossed some spicy fried rice in a pan. Beside him, a separate dish sat covered on another stove, its contents a mystery for now. A few other crew members were busying themselves farther away, likely preparing more food for the rest of the ship.
“What are you doing?” Wooyoung asked, his focus still on the rice as he expertly tossed it in the pan.
“Oh, nothing… nothing,” you lied, stepping closer. “Just, you know, looking.”
He glanced at you out of the corner of his eye, smirking. “I didn’t know you could cook,” you said, surprised. “You don’t seem the type.”
“Is it really that surprising?” he whispered, turning his head slightly to catch your gaze. Amusement danced in his eyes as he added, “It makes me more attractive, don’t you think?” He shot you a quick wink.
A fiery blush rose to your cheeks at his words, your heart doing flips. Now that he mentioned it, you had to admit—Wooyoung did look rather appealing when he wasn’t actively trying to irritate you. His sleeves were rolled up, exposing the veins in his forearms, and the deft, precise way he handled the pan showcased a kind of skill that was hard not to admire.
“Shut up,” you muttered, your embarrassment growing. “How is that even relevant?”
Wooyoung’s laughter filled the kitchen, sounding more like a monkey than human. You scowled at him, crossing your arms in defiance.
“Besides,” you added offhandedly, trying to regain some composure, “how do I even know if it’s any good? I haven’t even tried any yet. You don’t have to be so overconfident.”
At that, Wooyoung’s playful expression fell away, replaced by a dead-serious look. His pride, especially when it came to his cooking, was not something to be trifled with.
“Sit,” he ordered, pointing toward a nearby table. “I’ll bring you some, and then you can give me your fair judgement.”
Sensing the sudden shift in his mood, you quickly obliged, taking a seat at the table. Maybe doubting Wooyoung’s culinary skills wasn’t the best idea. He disappeared briefly, then returned with two plates piled high with food. The steam rising from the dishes carried the tantalising aroma of spices and roasted meat, and your stomach grumbled in anticipation.
Wooyoung placed the plate in front of you, along with a set of cutlery, and stood back with his arms crossed, watching you intently. The spread before you was impressive: spicy fried rice, seasoned roasted potatoes, and fried chicken coated in a vibrant red sauce. Everything looked perfectly cooked, and the rich, savoury aroma made you feel heaven.
You hesitated for a moment, feeling the weight of Wooyoung’s expectant gaze. Then, slowly, you picked up your fork and took a bite of the rice and chicken. The moment the flavours hit your tongue, your eyes widened in disbelief. It wasn’t just good—it was abso-fucking-lutely divine. The heat from the spices was perfectly balanced with the richness of the sauce, and the fried rice had a satisfying crunch to it that elevated the entire dish.
You closed your eyes, savouring the taste as a pleased sigh escaped your lips. When you opened them again, Wooyoung was staring at you with a smug grin on his face.
“Well?” he asked, his tone dripping with self-satisfaction.
You couldn’t deny it. “This is amazing,” you admitted, shaking your head in disbelief. “I didn’t think anyone could cook this well on a ship.”
Wooyoung’s grin widened. “I told you I’m good, didn’t I?”
You rolled your eyes, but there was no hiding the smile that tugged at your lips. “Fine, you win this one. But don’t let it get to your head.”
He gave you a mock bow, clearly enjoying his little victory. “Too late.”
As you continued to eat, Wooyoung sat down across from you, digging into his own plate with the same enthusiasm. For a few moments, there was a comfortable silence as you both focused on the meal.
"So," he said after a while, "what do you think? Does it make me more attractive?"
You nearly choked on your rice, glaring at him as you swallowed. "You just had to ruin the moment, didn't you?"
His laugh once again filled your ears. How annoying you thought, smiling to yourself.
As you finished eating, more crewmen began to file into the dining hall, grabbing their own plates and piling on food. The atmosphere grew more lively, but you were already feeling sleepy, especially after the amazing food. After all, it had been a long couple of days.
You picked up your plate and made your way to the sink, leaving the dish with the growing pile of dirty ones. You felt a smidge of guilt for whoever had to wash them all, it wouldn’t be an easy task. As you turned to head back, you spotted Wooyoung also cleaning up his area, still looking refreshed and energetic despite the long day.
"Has the captain told you anything about what we're supposed to do when we dock?" you asked him, maybe he would have some answers.
Wooyoung shrugged, drying his hands on a towel. "He just said we’re meeting in the map room tonight. Only us, the others, and him. We’re not supposed to talk about it until the rest of the crew's out of earshot."
You raised an eyebrow. "Why all the secrecy? They're part of the crew, too."
A sly smile curled on his lips. “You’ve been with us for a few days now, but you’ll learn soon enough—not all crewmen can be trusted. There are always ears where you least expect them.” He winked before turning back to supervise the kitchen.
With a slight nod, you said your goodbyes to Wooyoung and left the kitchen, heading back to your room. His words stuck with you, though. What were they so cautious about? And why the distrust among their own crew? It felt odd, and your instincts kept raising red flags at whatever it was they had planned to do.
Once in your room, you shut the door and sat at the small desk by the window. It was the first quiet moment you’d had to yourself in days, and your mind began to churn with thoughts and questions. You reached for the loose paper you had been given, scribbling down whatever came to mind.
The first thing you had considered, when you’d first been taken aboard, was the idea of escaping, you had thought of nothing else. But now, after spending time with the crew, especially Hongjoong and the others, you knew better. These pirates weren’t ordinary men—they were highly skilled in what they did, and escaping was definitely out the window. You sighed, accepting that, for now, it was better to stay put and go along with whatever they asked of you than to waste energy on an escape plan that had no chance of success.
The second thing that nagged at you was their reputation. You had heard rumours about this crew before—they were renowned for doing certain unspeakable things, but so far, you hadn’t witnessed anything that aligned with those stories. In fact, they had been surprisingly kind to you, even if some of them, like Wooyoung, enjoyed teasing you, constantly. Despite all that, doubt lingered in the back of your mind. You had only been with them for three days, and for all you knew, they were just waiting for the right moment to take off their masks. You couldn’t shake the feeling that your usefulness to them had a limit—and when that limit was reached, what would they do with you?
Third, and perhaps most pressing, was the matter of what they intended to do when they docked. You didn’t know much, but from what Hongjoong had said, it was clear they weren’t exactly welcome in the town. What had they done to be so unwelcome? And what was the nature of the business they had to take care of? You couldn’t help but wonder if it involved something illegal—something you could easily get caught up in, and potentially ruin all progress you had made in life.
As you stared at the half-finished notes on the paper, and one random flower drawing, your thoughts spiralled further. There was a lot you didn’t know, and the more you learned about these pirates, the more questions seemed to pile up.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t even notice how much time had passed. The sun had again been replaced by the moon high in the sky, its glow filtering through the small window of your cabin. Outside, the ship bustled with activity as the crew prepared to speed up the pace and retire for the night, now that they were out of the more precarious part of the waters.
You zoned out, meanwhile a cat had wandered into your room through the open door, its sleek body hopping onto your bed and making itself comfortable. It stretched out lazily, giving you a sideways glance before deciding it wasn't getting enough attention. With a graceful leap, it hopped up onto your desk, startling you out of your daydream. You blinked at the feline, and it blinked back at you, then let out a loud, insistent meow, demanding your attention.
Your hand slipped from where you had been propping up your head, and you stared at the cat in mild surprise. It was a beautiful Siamese with big, curious eyes that studied you closely before padding closer. It hopped down onto your lap, rubbing itself against you and purring softly. You couldn't help but laugh, the restlessness that had been building in your chest easing as you patted the cat’s soft fur.
"Where did you come from?" you murmured, scratching behind its ears as it leaned into your touch.
A few minutes later, a voice called out from the doorway. "There you are!"
You looked up to see a man standing there, his broad figure filling the doorway. He let out a sigh of relief upon seeing the cat, his expression softening as he stepped into the room. "I was looking everywhere for you. You can't just run off like that, you know?"
The cat, hearing its owner, perked up immediately and jumped out of your lap, sauntering back over to him. He scooped her up in his arms, and she looked impossibly tiny against his large frame. He nuzzled her affectionately before looking up at you with a smile that deepened the dimples in his cheeks.
"She doesn’t usually go up to strangers this easily," he said, clearly amused. "I think she likes you."
You couldn’t help but giggle at the thought. "Well, I like her too. She’s adorable."
You stood up and walked over to him, reaching out to stroke the cat’s fur again as she wiggled happily in his arms. "What’s her name?"
"This little one? Her name’s Byeol," he replied, his voice filled with affection as he looked down at her. "She’s my little star."
"That’s a perfect name for her," you mused, still petting Byeol. "But what about you? What’s your name? I asked you yesterday too, but you never answered."
The man’s smile grew wider, his dimples drawing you attention even more as his eyes turned into little crescents. "I’m Choi San!" he said with enthusiasm, his voice carrying a warmth that made you smile in return.
"Nice to finally make your acquaintance, Choi San," you said, watching him closely. It was hard to reconcile the image in front of you—this man with his soft smile, cradling a tiny cat—with all the tall tales you had heard about the pirates. He seemed so gentle, so full of joy. You couldn't help but wonder how someone like him could be a man who allegedly killed without remorse.
San noticed your thoughtful expression and tilted his head slightly, his smile never wavering. "What’s on your mind?" he asked.
You hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to phrase your thoughts. "I guess... I just didn’t expect someone like you to be, well... a cat dad," you admitted, hoping your words didn’t come off as offensive.
San chuckled, the sound deep and rich. "Things aren't always what they seem, right?"
You nodded slowly, feeling a strange sense of calm in his presence. "Yeah, I guess not."
"Oh, by the way," San added with a playful grin, "the captain told me to come look for you. Said we have things to discuss."
"Ugh, finally," you groaned. "The fact that he dragged this out for so long has been eating away at my soul."
San laughed, the sound warm and so different from Wooyoung’s. Wait a minute why were you suddenly thinking of him, you were taken aback at your brain playing tricks like this. San beckoned you to follow him, and with Byeol nestled comfortably in his arms, you both made your way to the map room. The corridors of the ship were quieter now, the hustle of earlier fading as the rest of the crew settled into their rooms.
As you entered the map room, most of the others had already gathered. There was one unfamiliar face in the group, a man you hadn't seen since your first encounter with the crew. He sat in a corner, arms crossed and eyes distant, clearly uninterested in anything or anyone in the room. You wondered briefly who he was but decided not to question it.
You pulled up a chair and sat down, glancing at San, who was still holding Byeol. He gently released the cat from his arms, letting her roam freely around the room. Byeol wasted no time in greeting the others, nuzzling up to each of them, her little purrs filling the room.
From across the table, your eyes met Yeosang’s. He gave you a small wave, his smile as sweet and boyish as ever. You felt your cheeks flush with heat, and you waved back shyly. He chuckled softly at your reaction, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer before turning back to Mingi beside him and continuing their conversation.
Just then, the door creaked open, and Captain Hongjoong strode in, his sheer presence silencing the room. As always, Seonghwa trailed close behind him, quietly locking the door after them.
"Alright," Hongjoong began, taking his place at the head of the table, his sunglasses perched on top of his head, stormy eyes looking at each face intensely. We’ve got a lot to cover, and not much time to do it."
You leaned forward slightly, eager to know what this urgent meeting was for. You still didn’t fully understand the task at hand, but the way Hongjoong and the others talked about it, it must be something very important.
"As I’m sure most of you are aware," Hongjoong continued, glancing around the room, "we’re heading into hostile territory. The port we’re docking at isn’t exactly a friendly place for us, or any pirate for that matter, but we have a contact there who’s willing to help us— you’ve all met him before, although our brand new navigator might come off as a surprise for him,”
He paused, letting his words settle over the room before continuing. “This heist might be our most important one yet, and we absolutely cannot afford any mistakes.”
His gaze shifted toward you, locking eyes in a way that made you want to run away. You felt a wave of anxiety wash over you—you were inexperienced, a liability among a group of seasoned pirates who had honed their skills over years of dangerous work. Sure, you could navigate and read maps, but when came the questions of combat and risky missions? You were out of your depth.
For a brief moment, you started spiraling into self-doubt, your mind racing with questions about your usefulness. What if you messed up? What if you put everyone in danger?
But Hongjoong’s voice broke through your anxious thoughts. “But this time,” he said, eyes gleaming with a spark of a plan, “we have someone who’d be great for going undercover. Our faces are already known, but I doubt anyone has seen our navigator before.” His words were pointed but not unkind. “Even if they have, they probably wouldn’t remember.”
Well, ouch, you thought to yourself, feeling a bit slighted by the implication. But before you could dwell on it, Hongjoong pressed on.
“Our target runs a popular saloon and inn uptown, which, of course, is funded by his illegal auction houses operating behind the government's back. Now I wouldn’t have cared about a lousy businessman like him at all but unfortunately, his activities have started to affect our business as well,” he said, his tone turning sharp. You didn’t even want to know what he meant by their business. “His lawyer is who we need. He holds all the evidence we require to shut that fat pig down once and for all.”
The room was silent, as if each of the men were absorbing what Hongjoong was saying. You could see the intensity in their faces as they nodded in understanding.
“We’ll reach the port by noon tomorrow, and our work begins immediately. We shall leave the town as soon as we’ve completed the mission,” Hongjoong continued. “Pack light and only the essentials. The ship will be docked elsewhere to avoid drawing attention to our presence. Questions?”
You hesitated for a moment, then raised your hand timidly. “Umm… what exactly do I have to do?”
Hongjoong’s eyes flickered back to you, his expression softening slightly. “I’m getting to that,” he replied. “Once we’ve reached our accommodation, the first to depart will be our navigator…”
He trailed off, his face going blank for a moment as if he’d just remembered something important. “Wait… I never asked for your name.
The room fell into an awkward silence as Hongjoong’s flustered expression mirrored the confusion in the room. You blinked in surprise. Hongjoong had just come to the realisation that after nearly four days of you being on this ship, none of them had ever confirmed who you were. What if they’d picked up the wrong person?
“Oh… right,” you stammered, feeling your face heat up. “My name’s Aurora.”
Hongjoong nodded, casting a quick glance toward Seonghwa, who hadn’t shown a single flicker of emotion since the meeting began. It was like they were communicating with their eyes.
“Whoa, I can’t believe we forgot that!” Wooyoung exclaimed, slapping his hand to his forehead in disbelief, earning a few deflated murmurs in agreement from the others. Even San was shaking his head, feeling a little disappointed that they had missed such an important detail.
Hongjoong shook his head, visibly trying to shake off his little glitch before returning to business. “Anyway, Aurora will be the first to move,” he explained, focusing back on the task. “Your job is simple: go up to the saloon building and introduce yourself as a collector of rare navigation instruments. I assume that won’t be too hard for you?”
You nodded quickly, trying to ignore the nerves building in your stomach. “I can do it,” you said, your voice louder than you expected.
Hongjoong gave you a curt nod, his eyes briefly meeting yours as if searching for a hint of doubt. He shifted slightly, and pursed his lips in thought. "You’ll reserve a room for two," he continued, "and during your conversations, ask the host for places where you can buy such instruments. Make it clear you’re looking for something underground since a collector like yourself would prefer to avoid the rare items acquisition tax. Slip him a few bills, and he’ll be more than happy to point you towards the auction house."
You took note of his instructions, feeling a little excited at the thought of going undercover. It was the first time you had done something like this, maybe it won’t be as life threatening as it sounded.
Hongjoong took a deep breath before continuing. "San will accompany you," he said, glancing toward the man, "since he’s the only other face that people around here don’t know much of."
You looked at San, who met your gaze and gave you a playful wink. His presence, there with you, was a little reassuring, in a way—having someone you were comfortable with might help ease the tension.
"After you’ve found out the location of the auction house," Hongjoong said, his tone darkening, "this is where the difficult part begins. From what my sources tell me, the lawyer lives in a permanently reserved room in the saloon building. He operates from there, running the auction house's legal affairs. As night falls, you two will need to find him and make sure he doesn’t go anywhere—quietly." His eyes shifted between you and San.
You swallowed nervously. "What happens once we have him?" you asked, your voice an unintended whisper.
"Once we have him with no alarms raised, the job becomes a little easier," Hongjoong replied. His eyes glinted, a smirk playing on his lips. "He has a liability we can exploit, something that’ll make our interrogation a lot smoother. We’ll use it to extract what we need."
You nodded, though there was something dark in his words. This lawyer wasn’t exactly innocent, you knew that, but you couldn’t help feeling some pity for him. Whatever Hongjoong had planned, it wasn’t going to be pretty.
"As for the others," Hongjoong continued, turning to the rest of the crew, "Wooyoung and Yeosang will tail the man during the day. Keep track of his movements and note where he goes. Jongho, take Yunho and Mingi to restock the ship’s supplies while you’re in port."
The crew nodded in understanding, their expressions set in determination. Hongjoong’s grin widened, clearly pleased with how things were falling into place.
"We’ll reconvene at night to move the lawyer from the inn to our accommodation. I’ll have a room ready for him." He held a cheshire grin on his face, and you shuddered at the thought of what might await the poor man.
“Once we have the evidence, we can anonymously turn it over to the authorities and get what we need in return. All clear?"
A chorus of "Yes, Captain" and "Aye, Captain" echoed in the room, the crew eager to carry out their roles.
"Good," Hongjoong said, satisfied. "You’re all dismissed until we dock." He paused, glancing in your direction. "Mingi, I need you to continue training Aurora in defense. San, you’ll be teaching her hand-to-hand combat as well."
"Sure, Captain," Mingi replied, turning to you with a friendly smile. "Take good rest, Ms. Navigator. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow."
You returned his smile, feeling a mixture of exhaustion and anticipation. As everyone dispersed, you couldn’t help but feel the weight of what was to come—the danger, the deception, and the responsibility that had unexpectedly fallen onto your shoulders.
San caught your eye one last time, giving you a nod as if to say, You’ve got this.
And even though you weren’t entirely sure if you have it, you nodded back, determined to see it through.
However, as you left the meeting and wandered back toward your room, exhaustion hit you like a wave. You were so ready to sleep again—you had barely gotten any proper rest, this job was much more demanding and taxing than the usual small ones you took up on for merchants.
You missed your parents. A pang of longing shot through you as you thought about them, wondering when, or if, you’d ever see them again. It had been years since they were sent on their own assignment, and there had been no word from them since. You missed being a whole family—you missed bickering with your younger brother, it must be around the time for his final examinations. You hoped he was doing well with his and not causing the school trouble as he often did.
As you wandered back to your room you let yourself be consumed by the overwhelming thoughts, all the deep emotions you had put away, tears fell from your eyes, marking dark spots on your shirt and leaving your vision blurry. You held on the handle of the door of your room, grip tightening as you found it difficult to open it and face loneliness again.
However terrible these pirates were, they lived life as it was intended and they were so carefree while you were just existing for now. The splotches on your shirt grew, you let out a bitter laugh wondering why your mood shifted so suddenly. Little whimpers and sobs escape your lips, then you felt warmth after the coldness of the tears.
Just as your grip on the door handle tightened, a pair of warm, calloused hands cupped your face, gently swiping away the tears. Startled, you blinked up through your blurry vision and found yourself face to face with a concerned Yunho. His gaze held a desperation to comfort you, something that felt of place on a supposedly ruthless pirate.
“What’s wrong?” he whispered.
Snapping out of it, you pulled your face away, taking your hand off the door handle, wiping at your eyes, rubbing them red. Yunho moved his hands trying to get yours away from your face before you could hurt yourself. You sniffled trying to calm yourself and put on a weak smile, “It’s nothing, just feeling a little overwhelmed…. that’s all,” your words did not convince Yunho.
He wasn’t good with people, you couldn’t pick them apart like machine to understand how they worked. You had to be careful and sensitive. Yunho didn’t like the way your face showed nothing but pain. He signed not knowing how to reply, “Can i show you a place, i think you’ll like it right now,” he looked at his feet, his hands fiddling with the edge of his shirt, “going there helps me too,”
You hesitated, the idea of being this vulnerable in front of a pirate didn’t please you, but you agreed nonetheless, "Okay," you whispered. "I trust you."
Yunho lightened up a little at your words, and he gently took your hand, leading you up toward the poop deck. You followed him around the mizzen mast until he stopped in front of a trapdoor. Without saying much, Yunho unlatched the trapdoor, you don’t know how, since it had seemed to be sealed shut with metal but you didn’t think much of it. He jumped down first, holding out his arms to help you down.
The passage was narrow and dimly lit, with small fixtures glowing faintly. Yunho’s head nearly touched the low ceiling, and the space felt tight. He closed the trapdoor behind you with a small whizz, and you continued down the corridor until he stopped in front of an unseemly wooden door.
"I’ve only shown this to the other guys," Yunho explained quietly. "But now, you too. No one else knows about this. It’s special to me." He glanced at you before continuing, "We’re right under your room and the captain’s. No one can hear me down here, but I can hear everything."
He opened the door, and the creak echoed through the small space. You hesitated for a second before stepping inside. At first, it was pitch black. You could hear soft clicks and whirrs, and then, all of a sudden, there was a sliver of moonlight creeping in from above. The light grew, revealing an open room, one wall slowly rising to reveal the vast, open sea.
The stars sparkled over the water, the moon casting a glow across the room. The sounds stopped, you felt yunho walk around the room, and all of a sudden there was a burst of light in the room, much more intense than the moonlight, you looked around there were no torches no fixtures just an open room with one wall lined with shelves upon shelves of books, a mattress big enough to fit ten people, folded up towards the other wall and then of course the newly revealed balcony.
"How is it?" Yunho asked softly, his eyes watching your reaction.
"It’s so... wow," you breathed, your earlier worries momentarily forgotten. "This is amazing."
Yunho chuckled softly, walking toward the folded mattress and sitting down, patting the space next to him. "I designed this all by myself. It was my first real project when I got a hold over my abilities," he said, pride lacing his voice.
You smiled and walked over to join him. Sitting down on the mattress, you let the calming sounds of the ocean fill the silence. For the first time in days, you felt a sense of peace. Although that was not all, Yunho seemed to have one more surprise in store for you. He stood up and walked over to the bookshelf, flicking a switch you hadn’t noticed before.
Suddenly, the ground beneath you began to shift. The balcony extended outward, nearly doubling the space of the room. You gasped in awe as the floor moved, the motion smooth but stopping with a gentle jolt. The room now opened even further toward the endless ocean, giving you an unobstructed view of the night sky, its stars shimmering more vividly than ever.
Yunho returned, settling down beside you on the large mattress again. “Lie down,” he said softly, putting his arms behind his head as a makeshift pillow.
You hesitated for a second before lying back and copying him, your gaze immediately drawn to the open sky. The stars twinkled like diamonds scattered across the dark canvas, the crescent moon glowing softly in the distance. You took a deep breath, feeling the cool night breeze brush against your skin, carrying with it the smell of the sea.
You turned your head slightly, your eyes catching Yunho’s. His eyes twinkled like the stars too, he had a contented smile on his face, you smiled too and turned back enjoying the calm. Time felt like it had stopped.
The sound of the waves gently lapping against the ship, the light breeze, and the soft hum of the world around you, gave you suck comfort. You didn’t know when it happened, but eventually, you drifted off to dreamless sleep, the stars overhead keeping you company.

EXCERPT #56:
Hello. I hope somebody is listening.
[…]
Is it weird that I still think about you all the time, February?
I suppose I haven’t been very good at hiding it, have I…?
But, despite everything going on in the City right now… Still, there is yet a day to go by where I haven’t thought of you.
When I first arrived in the City, everything reminded me of you.
I would see a simple streetlamp and start to remember our nightly performances. We were so young… The empty road was our stage with nothing but the houses of sleeping neighbours as our audience, we danced underneath the streetlamp like it was our own personal spotlight.
I would see a bright, yellow car and hit my own arm each time, now that yours was no longer there to pester. I stopped when I realised the City was one big loop. I don’t know how long ago that was now.
I’d look up at the sky and… Before I saw you up there, February, I just talked about you. I told the stars about you. And now it is where you reside.
Despite that… Despite not seeing you in everything anymore, February, instead, it’s as if you… You have infected my mind like a parasite and, some days, I can’t help but hate you for it.
I never wanted to hate you. I- I don’t hate you.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
Perhaps I will just pretend this is another symptom of a disease that must be killing me. It’s either myself or the City, February, my demise will have nothing to do with you.
In fact, if something does happen to me, February, no matter what - it was never because of a sinkhole. Never.
Do not let anyone think that I would-
[Paper slides across the room hitting Radio’s feet, Radio sighs]... Now…? [Paper rustles] Solus, this is my one time-
[Murmuring] “Who is February BTW? - Solu-”
Not- not right now. Solus. Not ever, actually… I need to put up some boundaries - for myself and these stupid sinkholes for that matter.
When will the City ever allow me a break…?

Stalker! Peter Parker who’s nights always start out as patrolling the city, until you come out for your nightly walk.
Stalker! Peter Parker who justifies his actions with the excuse that he’s protecting you. Who knows what could happen to you on these streets? Remember that one time you almost got mugged? What would have happened if he wasn’t there?.
Stalker! Peter Parker who singles you out in group photos. He’ll crop it and gift you a photo with just you while keeping one for himself.
Stalker! Peter Parker who hides his stuff around your room anytime he comes over, that way he can come back for them, and spend more time with you (“how did that get there?” Type shit😭)
Stalker! Peter Parker who can’t help but eavesdrop on your conversations, the plans you make , a childhood memory you share with your friends. He’s always listening, even if you don’t know he’s there.
Stalker! Peter Parker who relishes in the fact that you’re pretty forgetful, and he’s perceived as trustworthy. So when he slips up it’s quickly fixed.
“I saw something like that at olive gardens I think” you point out. “Oh yeah? That’s where you’re going tonight right?”. A look of surprise flashes across your face “how’d you know that?”. His heart skips a beat “oh- I - um y-you told me, yeah you told me about it a few days ago”.
“Did I?” He nods quickly “mhmm!”. You did not remember telling Peter that, but you couldn’t remember not telling him either.
Stalker! Peter Parker who knows all your secrets, and wishes he could share his. Sometimes when he’s perched on a building, you spot him, getting all exited and tugging the arm of the person next to you, his heart sinks a little. How he wishes that he could pull off the mask and tell you it’s him, it’s Peter.
Stalker! Peter Parker who listens to recordings of your voice when he feels overwhelmed or lonely, which would actually be sorta sweet if you had knowledge of it.
Stalker! Peter Parker who is actually not that slick or smart when it comes to you. So in his eyes, you’re either aware of what’s going on but you don’t care, or you’re the densest person on the planet. He’s fine with any of the latter, as long as he’s close to you.
Stalker! Peter Parker who copies your mannerisms and vocabulary, which isn’t that odd, friends do that. It’s just, he does things, mirror things that you don’t do in front of anyone, like that way have to put on music before cooking, or the way you talk to your plants before watering them. Maybe it’s coincidence, or maybe it’s fate and Peter Parker is actually your lover from a past life and you guys are like totally soulmates and you should go out with him.
(Plot twist Peter Parker actually made this)

may I request some yandere hcs for pre-fog Danny Johnson (the Ghostface guy) with a coworker darling? Like someone with whom he worked at the Roseville Gazette. Maybe they both were often sent together to interview the families of victims?
oh and btw, good luck with other requests (⁀ᗢ⁀)
Thank you! I've been having fun with them ^^ Hope you enjoy this request too! It's nice to write more pre-fog ones.
Yandere! Danny Johnson with Coworker! Darling
(Pre-Fog/Trial AU)
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Murder/Death, Sadism, Teasing, Manipulation, Secret picture taking, Attempted kidnapping, Dubious/Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
You most likely know Danny by his alias, Jed Olsen.
He's hopped around towns as to not get caught with his murders.
To you, he's just Jed Olsen, a fellow freelancer just trying to write shocking newspapers.
He's been described as modest and enthusiastic and has experience in many past newspapers.
You met him while working at Roseville Gazette and got along with him well.
You have no suspicions about him, in fact you see him as a friend.
You often share stories and sometimes ask him for help.
To keep a good image he helps you with a smile.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Danny is scoping for new victims for good stories.
He's a stalking and methodical killer in the dark while he's all nice and caring in the day.
By the time the murders start up you and Danny are close.
Soon he even begins to think he's fallen for you.
What a story, yeah?
The secret killer falling for the innocent reporter?
He honestly likes the sound of that.
You could be helping him to publish the stories he creates.
You have no idea but you're his partner in what he does.
What could be even better is if he began dating you as he conducts his work.
However, he isn't going to rush things.
Danny doesn't just stalk the potential victims of his stories, he likes to watch you.
He doesn't want to hurt you, he just likes to slip by where you live (once he finds the address) to check things over.
He likes to see your nightly routines and often takes pictures.
He is sure to remember the layout from your house and often sneaks in while you sleep.
It's a nice rest before he has to go back to work.
The whole time you are oblivious to his obsession and work.
Just like most of this town.
You still greet him with a smile, you still work on papers with him, you even offer to help interview the victim's families.
You have no clue that he's caused all this.
You have no idea he's been watching you too.
That's fine, Danny loves you clueless.
Honestly, he'll be happy if you just pay attention to him during the job.
What happens at night is a secret.
Well, a secret until this town catches onto him.
Once that happens he sadly has to rush things.
He's been making good progress with you and has been watching you at night for quite awhile.
About time he reveals the truth to you, yeah?
Imagine this;
A figure slips through your window ever so quietly.
He doesn't want to kill you, if anything he plans to take you with him as he moves to a new town.
He inches towards your room before entering, hovering over you as you rest.
When you stir you slightly open your eyes.
Only to see a silhouette.
Your eyes then shoot open upon seeing him, the figure in a ghostly cowl giving you a friendly wave.
"Hey there baby, it's me... missed me?"
As you try to run he restrains you in your bed, body sitting on top of you as he grins under the mask.
It's at this point he tells you who he is and his real name.
However, before he can take you away, fog fills the room.
Your scream rings in his ears, it's a pleasant sound to him...
However Danny feels rather upset when he wakes up in a new realm.
Where is he? Did he lose you?
Fortunately, Danny hears your voice and screams echo in the distance...
It's then he gives chase... all to look for his dearest in this newfound game.

PAIRING: Robb Stark X Reader
WORD COUNT: 2,475
WARNINGS: none!
SUMMARY: Robb's Queen falls ill and he is not quite sure how to handle it.
PART 1| PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 4 ½ | PART 5 | PART 6
MASTERLIST | ROBB STARK MASTERLIST
A/N: This is kind of short drabble-type chapter setting up the next two! Please send a message, comment, send an ask so i can hear from you! and hope you enjoy 🥰🫶🏾 (Part 6 dropping tomorrow night –UK nighttime btw 🤭)
Robb has grown used to your company in recent weeks. He was surprised the first time you came to his study for no reason other than to talk, but he came away from that evening happy to have seen and spoken with you.
Eventually, those nightly visits became more of an expectation. Sometimes you’ll have a conversation over tea and cakes and other nights he’ll share a laugh with you over supper with a belly full of ale. Occasionally you watch him work while doing needlepoint or sewing up his trousers – because he always seems to rip the seams – providing a needed distraction whenever he gets too frustrated with the contents of his letters.
It is routine. One he quite enjoys, which is why when you don’t come to his study tonight, he’s not upset, he’s worried. He thinks to ignore it and continue on with his work, but he struggles to concentrate on any of it when his mind keeps wandering back to you.
He has enough after a few minutes and rises to his feet intending to find you and determine that everything is alright. As he walks around the Great Keep, not a single person he passes can tell him where you are. His casual stroll slowly morphs into a hurried walk as he begins heading towards your chambers. That is when he runs into someone.
Elyse.
He almost doesn’t realise it is her at first, so focused on where he is going that he brushes past her. It is only at the sound of her voice when she stops to curtsey that he recognises who it is. He spins back around as he already passed her a little, cocking his head to the side.
“Elyse,” he breathes as he approaches her slowly, “How are you?”
They have not spoken in some weeks now. It is awkward between them. It has never been awkward. He suspects that she has been avoiding him, but a part of him chooses to believe that only because he has in fact been avoiding her out of guilt.
She looks up at him, a thin yet soft smile on her lips. “I am well,” she says, though her pained eyes tell a different story.
Robb has the urge to pry her for more questions. The only reason he has stayed away from her is because things can never be as they were once. Not if he intends to honour his vows to you.
He doesn’t want her to feel as though he has simply cast her aside and forgotten her. But as soon as he’s about to raise a hand to take hers, he stops himself, remembering why he is here in this corridor in the first place. He is trying to find you.
“Have you seen…?” his voice trails off before he can say your name. He doesn’t know if that would be offensive or unnecessarily hurtful.
But it doesn’t need to be said because she knows who he refers to just by the look in his eyes.
“The Queen is in her chambers. With Maester Luwin.”
That means something is wrong, and though he wants to stay and ease Elyse’s hurt, he does not have the time for it.
“Thank you, Elyse,” he lingers for a moment, knowing there are still many things unsaid between them, before making his way to your chambers.
Just as he arrives at the door, Maester Luwin steps outside, jumping when he sees Robb.
“Your Grace,” he bows as best as he can while shutting the door, " Forgive me, I was not expecting you."
Robb frowns as he glances from the closed door to Maester Luwin, “Has something happened?”
The Maester shakes his head slowly, “Her Grace has fallen ill, but–”
“Why was I not made aware?"
"It was quite sudden," he explains, then places a hand on Robb's shoulder, "But it is nothing serious, you need not worry yourself."
Mester Luwin's voice is comforting, but Robb's heart remains unsettled. You are his responsibility now, and whatever pain befalls you – illness or injury – weighs on him. That is the only reason why he is concerned.
The only reason.
He looks at Maester Luwin and asks, "What ails her?"
Maester Luwin seems unsure of whether to answer at first, but then he lowers his voice and begins to speak, "You are aware that women pass bloods once every moon's turn?"
In fact Robb did not know that it happens every moon's turn. He thought it happened once when a girl becomes a woman. Nevertheless, he nods his head as if he did know before this very moment.
"Is that what this is?"
Maester Luwin nods, “It seems Her Grace passes her moonblood with great difficulty. But her pain and discomfort should fade in the coming days.”
Robb glances at the door yet again, debating whether or not he should go in.
“She is resting now,” Maester Luwin says, practically peering into Robb’s thoughts, “You should look in on her, put your mind at ease.”
His head snaps in the maester’s direction, “My mind is already at ease.” There is a hint of defensiveness in his tone.
“Of course, Your Grace,” Maester Luwin bows before taking his leave to return to the rookery.
Alone with his own thoughts, Robb considers returning to his solar to continue working. He knows now that no great harm has befallen you and you will be just fine, but his heart is still unsatisfied. With little hesitation, he twists the handle and pushes the door open.
One week after your wedding, Robb began to notice that his chambers smelled different. It almost annoyed him how quickly the room adopted your scent. It clung to everything, the sheets, the pillows – even Robb's own clothes. But over time, he came to appreciate that earthy, yet sweet smell. It gave him comfort.
That is why the first thing he notices upon entering the room is how different it smells. The aroma of medicine hangs in the air, no doubt from whatever treatment Maester Luwin has provided.
You're lying on the bed when he enters, curled up into a ball. As soon as Robb closes the door, your eyes flutter open, following him as he approaches you wordlessly.
"Your Grace," you begin in the softest voice he's ever heard from your lips, "I would curtsey or sit up, but as you can see, I am in no state for such."
"I wouldn’t ask you to," he smiles as he sits on the bed right beside you. He glances at the cup sitting on your bedside table, "What are you drinking?"
You tilt your head slightly to see what Robb is looking at before returning your gaze to him. "Maester Luwin gave me something for the pain," you say, "I don't remember what is in it."
"You are in pain?"
Robb's concern increases when you nod.
"Where is the pain?" he asks.
"Here."
Robb looks down at where your hand is cradling your stomach. His eyes snap back up to you when he hears you wince, clutching your stomach tighter. He hates to see you in such terrible pain, and it is worse knowing he can do nothing to ease it.
"Will it be like this for you after every moon's turn?"
You shake your head, "Not every time. It was not like this during the last one – that is why you did not know it was happening."
Even after seeing you and speaking with you, Robb's worry does not dissipate. There is still a pit in his stomach. It dawns on him that he is not only concerned because you are his responsibility. He wants you to recover quickly because…well, it is you.
He raises his hands to your face, stopping when he sees the startled look on your face.
"Do you mind?" he asks, hands still hovering over you. He proceeds when you nod.
Gently, he presses his palms against your cheeks. You remain completely still under his touch, your heart racing. After a moment, he moves his hand to your forehead.
"What are you doing?"
He looks down, meeting your eyes which are staring up at him, before pulling back from you, "I'm checking for a fever."
You chuckle lightly, an infectious sound, "I'm not sure fevers are common with my particular ailment."
"It is better to be sure."
You smile softly before closing your eyes, a comfortable silence settling between the two of you. Robb sits there, listening to your breathing and waiting for you to fall asleep.
After a few minutes, your eyes open again.
"Don't let me keep you, you ought to rest," you whisper, "Your mother has prepared the guest chamber for you."
Robb is taken aback, "The guest chamber? Why should I stay there and not here as always?"
"Because you work from dawn to dusk and I will not have you lacking sleep simply because I am ill. Besides, your mother insisted."
Robb looks up at the ceiling and shakes his head. Of course his mother would be the one to insist. But still, he does not want to bring you any further discomfort anyways, so he obliges yours and his mother's wishes.
"I will be sure to look in on you again tomorrow," he promises as he rises to his feet. His gaze lingers on you for a moment before he finally says, "Sleep well, Y/N."
***
The next night, Robb is not happy when he finds the tray from your supper untouched. It lies discarded on the floor beside your bed, not even a grain of rice has been moved.
You're asleep when he enters the room, and even when he sits on the bed, you remain still. There is no snoring however, which lets Robb know that you are not sleeping soundly. Your forehead is creased and even in your sleep you're clutching something to your stomach.
This illness seems to have gotten worse, which only serves to make Robb feel more guilty for not coming to see you during the day. He leans down and presses the back of his hand to your clammy forehead, then his palms to your cheeks. Just to be sure again that there is no fever.
You wake while he is in the middle of doing this, momentarily shocked to see him practically on top of you. Robb instantly draws his hands back when he hears your gasp.
"I apologise, I was only checking–"
"Robb," you sigh heavily and slowly pull yourself up into a sitting position, "There is no fever. I have told you, this will pass."
He nods even though his worry remains.
"I'm sorry that I did not come earlier."
You wave a hand and shake your head. "It is quite alright, I completely under–"
You're cut off by an intense and sharp pain in your lower stomach and back that makes you hold your breath and squeeze your eyes shut. Too distracted by the pain, you don't even realise when Robb takes your hand at first, but once his calloused fingers clasp around your hand, you give it a tight squeeze to help the pain pass.
"Are you alright?"
Your eyes open to meet Robb's staring back into them. His brows are drawn together and he is sitting close to you on the bed, both his hands now holding yours.
"Yes," you whisper as you pull your hand out of his grasp, licking your dry lips, "I'm fine."
He looks like he wants to say more, but instead he sits back, placing his hands back in his lap. You can see clearly that he is concerned about you, more than you expected him to be – likely because he does not understand what is happening.
In some way, it is comforting to know that he cares.
“Tell me what I can do to help you.”
Robb is not a man who enjoys feeling useless. Even more so in recent years, considering all the tragedy that has befallen his family. And seeing you this way, sickly and vulnerable – the complete opposite of how he’s always seen you – is deeply unsettling.
"Distract me from the pain," you say, offering him the smallest way to make you feel better, "Tell me about your day. What has kept you so occupied?"
He doesn’t know how talking about ledgers and reports would help you, but he does so anyway.
“I spent much of the day preparing for the arrival of some men from the front.”
“Who is coming?”
“Lord Umber is bringing back some of the men we captured,” he sighs, “Our cells down there are too crowded, and some of the men are workers whose surrenders I’ve accepted.”
You raise a skeptical brow, “You trust Lannister soldiers?”
Robb is surprised – and a little amused – that you’re questioning his decision. He’s not sure he minds, however. In fact, he appreciates your taking an interest.
“I don’t,” he chuckles, “But these are men from the Brotherhood Withou–“
He’s cut off when you grab his hand to squeeze as another cramp hits. Instantly he forgets what he was talking about and gently takes both your hands. When the pain passes, you reach over to the side table and take a sip from the cup sitting there.
You notice Robb's inquisitive stare and nod to the cup, "It's the same tea from last night," you mumble, your eyes feeling heavier, "Apparently, it is a weaker dosage of milk of the poppy."
"Milk of the poppy makes you drowsy, no?"
"That explains why I have slept most of the day," you smile weakly.
Robb chuckles and strokes the back of your hand as you lean back and shut your eyes, "I should not have woken you."
"Perhaps not."
"Shall I leave?" he asks.
"No," you answer in a light voice, barely above a whisper, "Stay."
And so he does. He watches over you even after you fall asleep. It is not until your light snores begin to fill the room, a sure sign that you are in a deep slumber, that he decides to leave. He gently places your hand over your stomach and pulls the blankets up to your chest to make sure that you stay warm through the night.
Before he leaves, he can't help but watch you for a moment, listening to your slow breathing. You appear so at peace, and the sight warms his heart. In that moment, he knows that he has let go of any residual resentment he may have had towards you.
"Do feel better soon, my Lady," he whispers, "I long for our evening chats."

the conte stands were packed with fans wall to wall, bleacher to bleacher. boston v. new hampshire had been the most anticipated game since the eagles played them a few weeks back and the boys were most definitely ready to show the wildcats what else they had up their sleeve. of course you were at the game. you’d never miss one of jacob’s games, so there you were tucked five rows up from the glass where you were far enough away to avoid being too close to someone getting smashed into the glass, but close enough where you still followed everything happening.
your best friend stood beside you after taking the whole day to convince her to come. she was never a huge hockey fan, so dragging her along to games was more of a chore than anything. the two of you sported your eagles gear along with every other person, except yours was special.
you and jacob had only been seeing one another for a couple of months—neither of you wanting to take things too fast, so for the first few games you showed up in a sweatshirt (or jacob’s). this time, however, jacob gifted you his jersey to wear.
your eyes literally grew the size of watermelons when he proposed the idea last night.
“coming to the game tomorrow?” jacob’s voice filtered into the bathroom where you did your nightly routine in front of the mirror.
“of course. is that even a question?” you laughed. whether you and jacob were dating, you’d always be at the hockey games growing up a hockey fan yourself.
your boyfriend’s laugh brought a smile to your lips, “just making sure. i like looking up and seeing you there in the stands every time.”
he was so corny, but you loved it nonetheless. he smiled when you stuck your head out of the bathroom, “you’re adorable. i think i’ll drag y/bsf/n (your best friend’s name) along.”
“i don’t know about that one y/n. remember last time you brought her?” the boy laughed again.
“whatever. i’ll make her come,” you shrugged and disappeared back into the bathroom.
when you came back out your boyfriend spread himself out on the bed with open arms for you to climb into. it was a miracle the two of you even fit on the twin xl together. shutting the light off, you crawled in beside him, snuggling into his side immediately. his arm wrapped tightly around your waist as you breathed him in and got comfortable.
“any outfit ideas yet?” jacob asked into the growing silence of his dorm room. he knew you loved planning out your game day outfits and appreciated the numerous options you’d send him.
“mm, i dunno yet. sweatshirt probably.”
jacob hummed as the idea in his mind grew larger and hung on the tip of his tongue to propose it to you, “what about you wear one of my jersey’s?”
your eyes popped open. “one of your jersey’s?” you repeated like you didn’t hear him the first time.
his eyes searched yours in a slight anxious manner, worried you didn’t like his idea. your relationship was still so new, he didn’t want to force you into letting other people know you were his if you weren’t ready.
“yes?” the red head squeaked out.
“i-i yes. i’d love to,” your smile grew wider which sent relief through the boy’s system.
so there you were in your usual spot sporting your boyfriend’s jersey proudly. his last name was etched across your back letting everyone around you know that you were fowler’s girl.
the famous freshmen line—will smith, ryan leonard, and gabe perreault—flew down the ice towards the goal. everyone was on their toes watching the trio work seamlessly together to get the puck across the ice. it was nearly impossible to hear anything, but this was the atmosphere you grew up in. loud and noisy was your thing and ice hockey could never fail to bring a smile to your lips.
jacob told you he loved that about you. he loved seeing how happy you got for him and his team on the ice.
unh came back down the rink with the puck in possession. you watched jacob get himself ready for a block, the boys each shouting incoherent things to one another. the wolverines were tough players, but you weren’t worried. the boys have beaten them each time they played and it wasn’t looking like unh was closing the score anytime soon.
jacob slid down, blocking the puck from entering the goal. the fans, including yourself, jumped up in excitement. “that’s my boyfriend!” you exclaimed excitedly.
whether jacob heard you or not, he looked up at the stands, smiling beneath his mask, seeing you there so happy for him. you blew tiny kisses in his direction which he caught and pressed against his chest before refocusing on the game.
your best friend nudged your shoulder, a knowing smile on her lips. everything was good, really good, when you had your boyfriend’s name across your back and his eyes on you in the stands when he wasn’t playing.

Since someone already mentioned it, I’m gonna share something I’ve had on my mind for a while:
I completely believe that Nostradamus broke the bifrost intentionally.
NOW! I know what ur gonna say.
Like “duh Nightly, it literally says that in the manga” but hear me out!
I don’t think he just did it for shits and giggles. Or because he is totally unhinged (which he probably is I mean this is record of ragnork everyone’s a little messed in the head).
Anyway! Nostradamus is known as the “Phrophet of the century” and in life (both real and ROR life) he was known to be able to accurately predict the future.
I think he knew something bad was going to happen if the bifrost wasn’t destroyed and with Odin seeming to take the place of some kind of future villian that will likely throw the entire tournament off its original course, I think the two might be connected.
Not to mention the fact that ODIN is the ruling god of the Norse Pantheon which (even though their pantheon doesn’t rule since Zeus is the ruler) ALL of the realms are named after their pantheon (Valhalla, Midgard, Helheim, THE BIFROST!)… you see where I’m going with this?!
I think he might take Valhalla back from Zeus and somehow the Bifrost might be involved in that plot.
Nostradamus might have seen this and chose to do something about it 🤔
I MADE A THEORY ABOUT THIS A LONG TIME AGO BUT I CAN'T FUCKING FIND IT ASIDFASHBH
it's actually pretty similar to yours but anyways, after the whole reveal in the manga about odin trying to bring back arche or whatever, i made up this theory that nostradamus saw all this happen centuries ago and that's why he tried to destroy the bifrost
the bifrost connects helheim and valhalla and separates the two realms (this is from the wiki btw).
so WHAT IF, he saw a vision of arche rising up from HELHEIM and tried to destroy the bifrost because the bifrost is what connects helheim and valhalla together, if he destroyed it, it would also destroy the connection and prevent arche from reaching valhalla and murking everyone
(it would also leave the residents of helheim stuck with arche so rip to them and beel too but i guess he can finally get the death he wants??? lol)
anyway, that was my theory and as cool as this new plot point is in the manga, i can't include that in my fic cuz i just want smutty yandere stuff when ragnarok hits LMAO 😭

my current understanding of raf lore in regards to mc's part in it is basically ↓
they met as kids once when he ran away from home to explore (Nightly Stroll), but then he went back home n mc got taken in by those culty people
(Forgotten Sea) they reunite as fellows in more fucked roles. raf initially chose her as follower for convenience (probably didnt instant recognize) but then as they realize more abt each other they become friends in an arranged marriage adjacent situation that ends up actually wrong to the sea somehow. but i mean the tome is weird abt what it says abt how he should treat a follower and he himself also claims "tis a human fantasy" for lemurians to fall for who theyre bound to. yet he fell n all.
more theory territory bc again the end of forgotten sea is vague—during the ceremony, his awakening doesnt work bc the sea could tell he isnt more devoted to it than he is to mc, and the sea demands him to choose between her n lemuria (not that the sea would destroy its own people, but the flame lemuria needs was already dying, and rafayel's proper awakening couldve saved it but now it needs a sacrifice). it's such a last minute twist / confirmation of fears and mc makes him sacrifice her (or he kills her bc the sea compells him). this brings forth the new flame.
but rafayel dies a lot later as Forgotten Sea says, because... the incident with sea witch mc (Fragrant Dream) and the implied mc of Siren's Song (idk what order these would be). but the thing abt sea witch is—she may have been cursed as punishment by the sea, and raf didnt agree with this, turned her back human at the cost of a lot of effort n his life. he basically died for mc 1-2 times total for all the above, no matter what order. but he probably knew he'd die for sea witch (i doubt the sea offed him). so hes not above dying for mc except
"a rumor" "the god of the sea had lied to the deep sea for his beloved" (Forgotten Sea) im believing this rumor and that the lie was sometjing like.. that he'd take back the heart he gifted mc (which already irked the sea, hence flickering flame during Forgotten Sea kiss that happened right after the gifting) (it sounded like a metaphorical gifting at first but ig not) (maybe halfway. somethingsometjing magic). bc he doesnt want to kill her, especially after he already tried killing her once, and he doesnt trust everything the sea expects. he resents the prophecies or whatever. he thinks he can save lemuria in his own way
lemuria that btw fell to ruin specifically bc of his absence from it when Siren Song mc took his tail & scales (thats why he sung the elegy as he perished alongside her)
plus, you know, other humans
he gets reborn (who knows how again) into what we can call linkon raf, whos focused still on avenging his people and likely finding a way to revive lemuria while protecting its remains—a way that doesnt depend on what's now mc's heart, but she is a backup choice he may consider (though the sea wishes she were the first choice) (but like very to the very back of his brain, the last choice even, esp since he actively protects her actually) (where the fence between his thoughts and the sea's are)
probably something to do with the aether core ironically part of her heart will be what helps lemuria
somewhere in all this was also an mc who lived on an island alone ? (forgot where from!) and also an mc who might fr get her heart carved by some teen lemurian that's either a new raf somehow or someone connected (mentioned in an mc dream i also forgot which myth from, but probably forgotten sea? dream abt abysswalker-like era though) and i need to reread abysswalker before going on even longer for its mentions of tome stuff etc

After all that happened, nightly stargazing shared between Violet and Clementine became sparse, since Clem wasn’t able to really climb anymore, there was no way for her to even get onto the bell tower. It saddened both of them, even though none of them had commented on it.
After many restless nights of work, and effort put in by everyone, the others managed to repair the old, broken down staircase, making it usable again. Most effort was put in by Violet, Louis and AJ, since the boy wanted to help Clementine as much as he possibly could.
Now, simple, domestic moments between Clementine and Violet became sparse. All the work that constantly needs to be done around the school, expanding safe zones, repairing the traps, taking care of the school, setting up basic heating for the upcoming winter, it wasn’t easy, especially since Clementine was still just getting used to her new life, in which she is dependant on others for some help in her everyday routine.
It was mildly infuriating, her life was based on her own independence, on the fact she mainly relied on herself and AJ. And now, she had to get help from others just to walk down the stairs, until she learned to do it herself.
Clementine sighed, as she was walking through the courtyard, leaning on her crutches, she just left the dorm room, and for once in a long time, she finally had some time to herself. A cold breeze passed by as she sighed, taking in the chilly air.
She had her jacket on, and a sweater she recently found underneath it, providing enough heat for more than one if it came down to it.
AJ was off with Louis, as the teen promised to the young boy that he’ll teach him how to play piano. Ruby was just doing something with Aasim and Willy. Which left Clementine and Violet to themself. The young woman really wanted to know where her blonde lover went off to, but she really didn’t feel like searching the whole Ericson’s to find her. She sighed, where could she possibly be?
The courtyard was empty, that was until she heard a faint sound of footsteps coming from the direction of the bell tower, the steps were quiet and slow, she turned slightly just to see a familiar sight, there she was, Violet smiled. “Hey there, Clem.”
Violet said, finally stopping, right in front of Clementine, her hands deep in her pockets, searching for warmth in the evening’s cold. Clementine smiled back, happy to see the girl. “I was looking for you, where were you?”
She asked, looking at the blonde, the teen answered. “The bell tower.” She then looked back at it as she seemed slightly excited about something, yet unknown to the other girl. “Come on, I want to show you something.”
Violet said as she began to slowly lead them towards the very same bell tower she was at beforehand. She matched the speed Clementine was walking with, as they casually strolled, side by side. It felt oddly nice, finally having some quiet time, without a worry in the world.
After a minute or so, they reached the entry of the base of the bell tower, Clementine sighed as she looked at it, in melancholy. “I miss our stargazing, you know.” She said to the blonde, as she stared longingly at the bell tower before her, that’s when she noticed Violet seemed even more excited than before. “I’m sorry we can’t do that anymore.”
Clementine looked at her with a raised brow, as Violet finally looked at her, and realized she must have seemed to be really happy about something, they understood each other without words, and Clem wanted to know what was up. Violet scratched her neck slightly, averting her gaze for a second. “Uh.. Me and others, we kind of were working on something, so we could.. you know, stargaze together again?”
Violet said, more quietly than before, it was a trait of hers, confrontation like that, talking about gifts, feelings, or something similar made her flustered. She sighed and opened the door to the entry of the bell tower, as they both walked in, Clementine’s eyes widened, the stairs that were previously broken down, and where they both had to climb to get to the top before, were fixed.
That meant one thing, they could finally stargaze again. Just like they used to. Just like the night when they confessed.
Clementine smiled, and as Violet was still looking at the newly made stairs, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her torso, as Clementine rested her head on the shoulder of the blonde girl. The other tensed for a second before relaxing. “Thank you, so, so much.” Clementine said, beyond happy.
Tumblr media
They both sat beside each other, staring up at the night’s sky. Clementine rested her crutches somewhere off to the side, as she finally could spend some quality time with her girlfriend, she glanced at the girl beside her, smiling softly at the sight of her. “I really missed this.”
Her rough, scarred hand traveled to the one of Violet’s, her hand was slightly smaller, colder. Violet smiled back, her eyes softening at the sight of Clementine, at the feeling of how close she was. As they sat, side by side. “Me too.”
She said simply, Clem’s eyes traveled back to the night’s dark sky, the starry night was beautiful, with only a few milky clouds obstructing the perfect view. The moon shone brightly, like a torch guiding the lost through the cold vail of the night. It illuminated everything around them, making everything visible almost as clearly as during a cloudy day.
The sight of the beaming, soft stars on the canvas of the inky night was one to cherish. It was an aspect of their life ar Ericson's that both turned to love.
Every single star glistened and bloomed like a white, sparky rose in an otherwise stygian and somber garden of the night's sky, leaving Clementine with a bittersweet impression.
She really did miss this.
Clementine, Violet and the cimmerian, misty sky. With its soft, bright rays of the moonlight as their only possible witness.
Clementine’s gaze followed a set of stars, as she pointed at them, her finger tracing the outline. “That one. It looks like a cat. Hmm.. I guess it would be.. Independent, reliable, always on the move.” She said, naming a new constellation, like they did the first time they ever stargazed together. The breezy, chill air, passed by them, as Clementine sighed.
Violet spoke up. “It reminds me of you. You’re just, you know.. not on the run anymore.” She sighed before continuing. “I don’t know what I would do without you. That time, y'know, when we separated because of the walkers, I thought I would never see you again.” Violet said softly.
"I'm really glad you're still here, Clem."
“I’m glad to still be here too.” Clementine gave the blonde’s cold hand a light squeeze, a soft reminder that she’ll always be here for her, and she’s not about to leave her anytime soon. She avoided death once already, after all.
Before Violet could say something again, another light breeze hit them again, the cold, chilly air – a reminder of the fact winter was coming. Clementine didn’t mind, not at all. Especially when she had already felt way worse before, when her, AJ, and Kenny were going to Wellington. A light breeze like this was practically nothing.
But, from the corner of her eye, she saw Violet shudder at the night's cold air. She rubbed her arms for warmth. Clementine liked those quiet, domestic moments between them. The woman noticed her lover tremble slightly in the freezing air.
“That vest of yours literally doesn’t give you any warmth.” Violet huffed slightly at the comment, about to say something in defense. Clem took off her jacket, wrapping it around Violet’s shoulders, the blonde looked at her with slightly widened eyes.
“Wait, don’t, you’ll be cold too.” She was about to take off the jacket and hand it back to Clementine. But the taller girl just moved closer, ending the small gap between them, as one of her arms wrapped around Violet’s torso.
“I’m alright.” She said, smirking slightly. Violet looked flustered, as she averted her gaze to the side, also smiling, slightly, resting her head on Clementine’s shoulder. She sighed deeply, taking in the chilly air around them, happy for this calming moment they could finally share between each other.
After a while, Clementine felt Violet fully lean onto her, as her posture slumped even further than usual. Her breathing leveled.
The blonde fell asleep, at ease, comforted by the fact that Clem won't ever leave her behind. And soothed by her soft embrace.
Clementine longingly stared down at Violet, she sighed softly and brushed out a few strands of hair out of her face, letting her rest, as her eyes locked onto the starry night.
