“nonono don't apologise, stay snapped, STAY SNAPPED PLS WE NEED THIS”. he's always unnecessarily invested when playing mario kart, especially when you're playing as a pair against the other members. he would absolutely appreciate you getting all riled up. encourages it, in fact, and will even intentionally goad the other players if it means that he can get you to snap and go all out on them. originally was really surprised by how you'd suddenly just snap and start playing rlly aggressively in mario kart before quickly realising that was a Bonus if you were playing together and did his best to tell you to stay!!!! fucking!!!!! snapped!!!!!

Your blog is making me want to replay Patho 2 again... I did play once on the intended difficulty, and then I replayed it afterwards on the easiest settings, doing everything and saving everyone and I'm ngl, that was some of the most fun I've ever had even though it wasn't quite in the spirit of the game haha

The so-called spirit of the game is this senior citizen wirh an overgrown 2000s anime boy haircut who shakes his cane at you sassily when you choose to only swallow a handful of razors as opposed to the razor muckbang the game offers.

I finished the game on the hardest difficulty

This was my first time playing the game ever. I straight up went to the intended difficulty, saved everyone, did everything, and never starved for a single day. I had 20+ Shmowders by the end. I was fully stocked on meat, I was fully stocked on homemade antibiotics and maxed the hospital shift each day.

All of that with only 3 Deaths

What I'm saying is. Look, we both finished the game on complete opposite extremes, yet we're both here. In a pathologic x reader blog on tumblr. We both had fun and shared a good understanding of the plot and characters. That's what matters. Everything else is just people patting themselves on the shoulder. You're the only one who will be impressed with the fact you beat the game flawlessly, and you're the only one who will be bothered by the fact you picked an easier difficulty

Because it's really not that different. To me, I have the kind of autism that makes games like pathologic smoother than water for me, I thrived on the ruthlessness of dark soul and did a no death run in darkest dungeon. But also. I absolutely suck at casual games, I can't play Stardew Valley unless I'm fully cheating, I can't for the life of me beat a single platforming game because I have a slow reaction speed.

Play Pathologic however you want! Ice-pick Joe isn't gonna pop from under your bed at 3am to beat you up with hammers. This is coming from the most tryhard difficulty elitism person there is in games.

Buttttt. I do recommend giving Pathologic classic HD a try. I promise anyone who beat Pathologic 2 on ANY difficultly will cuck tf out of the first game. There is no thirst! The vendors have unlimited money, and you can sell all of your trash to them! THE ECONOMY IS THRIVING I BOUGHT FOOD ON THE DAYS THE PRICES WERE SKYROCKETING BC I COULD AFFORD IT. I would've never financially recovered from buying food in P2 on any day that's not the first one. In P1, I rarely slept because I was deepthroating lemons and snorting coffee beans day and night since I could easily afford the health/hunger penalty.

Meanwhile, in P2, I'd save coffee beans to sell to get enough money to save up for army clothes.

The combat is so forgiving, the houses with good loot aren't the infected ones like in P2 but the burned ones! The AI in that game is so stupid you can trick plague clouds into disappearing if you stand still! You can glitch and jump over fences to take shortcuts through the town! YOU CAN SCAM THAT CUNT ANDREY STAMATIN FOR ENDLESS SHOTGUNS.

Lastly don't forget that 90% of the Pathologic fandom haven't even played any of the games at all. 70% probably never watched a single playthrough either and just video essays instead.

In the steam version of Pathologic 2, Only 10% of players who bought the game have ever reached the end.

10% !!! That's us there! Me and You! It doesn't matter how what matters is that we both did it while 90% of people gave up.

And the situation in the classic game is even more dire tbh-

Only 6% ever opened the game and made it through the first day. Only 3% ever made it to the last day.

So, really good on you for finishing the game! Good on me for finishing the game! WE DID IT! YAY! Someone really should give Bella Hadid a call.

Also, please do yourself a favour and ignore whatever the video essayist says about the difficulty of the games. They're good storytellers for building an interesting narrative to watch, but they're not good at videogames assessment. Each of their reasons is very personalised by their own experience and doesn't necessarily mean other people will struggle with the same issues. Don't listen to anyone who tells you picking an easy difficulty ruins the game either, Pathologic doesn't relay on its brutal gameplay to shine, it can more stand on its own as a narrative story walking game. If anything, it would probably shine better on easier difficulties when you have time to dig for context clues and plot without starvation breathing down your neck. I missed some flavour text quests because I was too stressed about balancing different objectives to do them or pay attention when something important was said.

I can imagine that he doesn't like singing in front of others cause of what happened back in boot camp, where he softly sang to himself and wasp or Ironhide mocked him for it for a solid week. so now he just gets reminded of that whenever the topic of his singing voice comes up, which just makes him anxious and scared.

but that's just my take lol, it's funny how this whole thing started out with sari convincing him to play that karaoke game with her. and she bugs him about it for a few minutes before dropping it in favor of another game to play (while also slightly noticing he's kinda uncomfortable with that specific topic).

and tbh, because of your head canon whenever I hear lullabies I think of bee softly singing a lullaby to sari when her dad first disappeared to calm her down, not too loud for others to hear but loud enough to lure sari to sleeo

Tbh this one branches out from the headcanon that Bee was raised in a bad orphanage on Cybertron. (see this post but exclude the 2nd part)

Since he was branded the bad child by the much abusive and strict manager at that time, he' would'd often spend time alone in time out. Since he was the oldest in the facility, other sparklings picked on him and mocked him, which resulted in him being excluded from socializing.

He was pretty artistic at that time, he'd use some leftover crayons to use the walls of the room he spend the time out in as a diary. He often talked to himself, the drawings and the one plush toy he managed to snatch and hide. He played with the trash laying around and found comfort in singing. Whenever he was feeling really bad he'd quietly sing to himself, but then some kid overheard and made fun of him so he never sang unless he was alone.

Bee doesn't remember why he's was anxious about singing but he does remember Ironhide mocking him about it the one time he was humming to himself while working.

Sari, being a 10 year old kid, would be persistent of course, but she'd eventually give up after trying to convince Bee for 10 minutes straight. She heard him sing once and she wants to hear it again.

When her dad disappeared she basically moved in with the Autobots- after they got a renovation crew to go fix some of the human-sized rooms for her to live in. She was crying almost every night, one time she had a nightmare and Bee was the one to watch over her that night because the others were doing something out in town; he comforted her and sang her a lullaby.

She didn't care about the fact she won and Bee was singing, she just laid there listening as Bee's soothing voice and a servo rubbing her back lulled her to sleep. If the others came back at that time and overheard him, they didn't mention it.

Also i'm glad you do! X3 Ever since i thought about that this could be a thing, everytime i hear a song by Ed Sheeran or Shawn Mendes or anyone with a voice similar to them i think Bee is singing it.

Started Etrian Odyssey Nexus yesterday and i see why ppl tell everyone to not start with it. Class selection was overwhelming and honestly it's really cool to see classes/characters from the other games. Seeing the EO4 starter dungeon was something that i didn't expect tho. There is the original dungeon in the beginning and i hope there's a good focus on those cause tbh, it was a bit disappointing to go straight back into exactly the same dungeon as EOIV.(tho i think that's just nexus deal).

Still game, is pretty cool, been enjoying it so far. Team is prob trash but maybe it'll get better as the levels come

Welcome to the twenty-fourth official Cadybear's Reviews! Today I'll be talking about Witness, which I have ranked on the "Rotting Flesh Tier" at 2 stars out of a possible 10. My last and only playthrough of this was around May 2021.

Looking back on it though, this one probably… isn’t the worst. It’s certainly generic and aggravating, but there isn’t really anything about it that is outright offensive. I mean, maybe by the Choices standards of the year it came out, it certainly would be trash tier. But as of late, we’ve gotten some *really* bad stuff that gives this one a run for its money. 

A lot of people tend to deem MC as whiny, spoiled, obnoxious, and a jerk to Cassian. But a few others have pointed out that a lot of MC’s behaviors make sense considering she’s just been through a deeply traumatic event (y’know, witnessing a murder) and so it’s natural for her to be a bit messy and irrational and unpredictable, especially when she’s thrown into a lot of less-than-desirable situations. I mean, after suddenly watching a murder take place right in front of you, who wouldn’t be terrified.

Which is a valid point, but also frustrating since we still have zero agency with this character. We don’t really get much say in how our MC responds to or deals with this trauma, and it would be nice to have options because there are different ways people can respond to trauma. But of course we don’t get that, because writing different possible versions for a MC requires actual effort. 

To add insult to injury, pretty much all the options for MC to behave more rationally (as well as this pre-set childhood backstory about how everything her parents did was for status) are paywalled. Choices certainly isn’t immune to highway robbery and paywalling ridiculous things, even in their best works, but for God’s sake, they make us pay diamonds to even eat anything for breakfast or dodge a taser gun! 

Also, the trope of having a MC being protected by a super muscular bodyguard LI is… so fucking done to me. Especially since this app is generally aimed at straight/wlm audiences. I don’t mind if other people like it, obviously, but I’d like to see it switched up for a change. At least let us have a male MC option for this– seriously, this story is very pointlessly genderlocked (Then again, we’d have one side of the fandom complaining about “taking away one of the few games with female locked playable characters” and another side of the fandom complaining about how the MC is “female coded” because they get protected and rescued by a bodyguard, but those are their problems tbh). 

Okay, so why don’t I consider this one one of the worst? Well, even considering the many, many problems people have justifiably brought up about this– the stiff MC, the ridiculous diamond-walling, the formulaic romance dynamic– while those are all real problems with the story, I don’t any of them are outright offensive. Especially considering a lot of the newer books we’ve been getting like Surrender, FCL, and TBB, which seem to give straight up toxic relationships and behaviors a mere slap on the wrist. 

MC and Cassian’s relationship isn’t something I would call a healthy relationship, but I wouldn’t call it toxic either. So between that and the relationships of the aforementioned books, it’s like choosing between prune juice and bleach. Which is pretty much the difference between Rotting Flesh Tier and PooPoo Tier– the former is the equivalent to prune juice while the latter is the equivalent to bleach. 

And, hey, this one is at least a fun kind of bad. People have memed on this one to hell and back for the ridiculous stuff, such as how eating breakfast is paywalled and “Say I don’t like breakfast” is the free option. It at least gave us some stupid stuff to laugh at that will be remembered in Choices history. 

So overall, it’s not quite the worst. But at best it doesn’t really do anything new or special and is just fun to laugh at, and at worst it’s annoying as all fuck.

Rose faked a quick smile, though she knew it probably wasn't up to scratch. She remembered that particular ‘proposal’. It had been the first time they’d faced Cazador - the first time, the one where they had royally fucked it. Astarion had been sprawled out on the ground, bleeding out. She was wrist deep in his opened stomach, trying to keep his innards on the inside of his body, tears in her eyes, yelling out desperately for Shadowheart across the battlefield. He’d been crying blood, barely conscious, and as always, she’d found herself wishing he’d just shut the fuck up, and keep his breath inside his body. Not that he needed breath in his body. But she had always been a fan of Astarion not superfluously using up energy in order to annoy her.

Oh, Party Favours my beloved, you truly were just my excuse to say the most self-indulgent shit without having to back it up with evidence, for my own mental health. <3

Now, let me try and back up this most self-indulgent shit with evidence!

So, Party Favours was written in Early Access, before full Cazador lore. I never really assumed you'd fight Cazador twice, but I approached this hypothetical scene from two angles: 1. where me, the player, has fucked up and is about to go back to a previous sav for a second attempt or 2. In D&D campaigns, often you'll have a test fight with the BBEG first, to learn about their capabilities and strengths so that you can then make a more fully realised plan to take them out when you go for them a second time. Inevitably, you probably get your ass a little beat. So this was what that was.

In this hypothetical scene (w/o full access lore) I assumed that Cazador would be able to charm/Dominate Person Astarion and try to get him to fight the rest of the party (another classic D&D Campaign trope), bc I didn't realise the tadpole rendered Astarion immune. I was also imagining a Cazador with Legendary Resistances, Regeneration, and Legendary Actions, etc... all in all, a bit beefier than what we got.

In this imagined fight, the party attempt to take out Cazador but find themselves far outclassed, bc they are too low level. Astarion was ordered to attack the party by Cazador. He refuses and resists the command (for mutual pining reasons), but his resistance weakens him and renders him incapacitated bc of the effort it takes to ignore a direct command. Deeming him utterly useless (again, no Black Mass context in this case), Cazador gutted him - the organs were on show - and left him to bleed out like trash.

While Cazador flees (Shadowheart chasing him, bc she's the cleric with all the anti-undead arsenal) the others (Rose) ran to Astarion, who is on death saves but is conscious bc, again, this fic was solely for my mental health and my mental health alone. Obviously the poor fuck is already in love, but the proposal actually came when Rose immediately offered up her arm to try and force him to drink so that he could immediately heal. Which is also why she doesn't fully take it seriously: 1. he's dying and she thinks he's mental for even talking 2. he definitely says something like "straight from the vein, when there's a veritable surfeit of potions on hand? maybe I should just marry you, or you should at least buy me dinner first"

Look, at this point this poor OC is established as a Wisdom 10 queen (I love how much flak she gets in Pieces when truly, this fic is her Low Wis Era) but I do think a lot of the flirting - and a lot of the proposals she received - were not very serious, bc Astarion is Astarion but also bc he was too scared to act seriously. So this first proposal is an absolute dud tbh, she's right not to take it seriously bc it isn't very romantic, it's definitely a half conscious man being like "do you think I'd disintegrate, if we walked into a church together?" meanwhile she's screaming for a medic.
