#y’all know my weird fixation on grief yeah?#I was just thinking why I didn’t get the grief brainworms for ffxvi#cuz like there’s a lot of dying in this game#but none of it is activating the Neuron™ for some reason#I think the time jumps interfere with it maybe#or maybe I’m just more smitten with the idea of the protag losing everything and being reborn into someone else entirely for 13 long years#it’s hilarious actually#I’m usually obsessed with rebirth via reanimation/ressurection and like#this game has a literal phoenix in it and a character that’s very strongly tied to it more than the protag#but it’s undeniable that Clive also has phoenix and rebirth elements about him#it’s funny then that my brainworms are about Clive then instead of the literal phoenix character in the game#there’s even a full on death and ressurection thing going on about this character too! which I’m usually wild about!#I for sure think the brainworms were just satiated by the symbolic deaths and ressurections in Clive’s story arcs#it’s just#it’s been a while where the obsession was quelled by something symbolic#because the patterns for the recent brainworms has all been so literal#side eyeing Jason Todd and Dungeon Meshi as a whole#ramble#tbh my grief thing is so niche because it’s usually tied with ressurection/never been dead in the first place stuff#like it’s a whole thing#I mean my lore reason is cuz of the grieving the living thing tbh

Ace Attorney mbti (not a complete list because I haven’t finished the last two games yet)
I made one of these for p5 characters, which I don’t think anybody but me is interested in, but this is tumblr. Why are we here, if not for self indulgence?
(Also I’m sorry there’s no Athena, Blackquill, tgaa characters, etc! I didn’t want this post to get too long, and I didn’t want to type characters without knowing their full story. Maybe I’ll make a part 2 with everyone I missed!)
Phoenix Wright: ENTP
Phoenix has ne all over the place. He’s famous in-game for throwing out a million different possibilities in court to see what sticks, which is what sets him apart—I mean, the truth is never straightforward, and Phoenix never settles for the most obvious answer. That said, he’s also very analytical and strategic. He knows that a lot of scenarios he’s suggesting make no logical sense, but it’s worth considering, and it buys him time to piece together what actually happened. It’s most obvious in aa4 during his disbarment, how he can block off his emotions to make harsh, rational judgements, and doesn’t seem to consider how that affects Apollo. I get thinking that he could be an ENFP, given how much he cares about the human aspect of these cases and how strongly he stands by his morals, but thinkers care about people too! And the contrast between those types is clear next to…
Maya Fey: ENFP
Maya and Phoenix bounce their ne off of each other, which is why they work so well as a team. However, Maya doesn’t really care if anything she comes up with is plausible as long as it’s fun, which drives Phoenix crazy sometimes (he’s a thinker, everything has to MAKE SENSE). This isn’t to say that Maya is stupid! She’s brilliant, she just approaches things from a creative and emotional standpoint first (Will Powers can’t be the killer, he’s too nice! The Steel Samurai would never! I don’t have proof, I just FEEL IT. No Nick, I don’t care if the evidence points to him!)
Miles Edgeworth: INTJ or ISTJ, but I lean toward INTJ
Miles and Phoenix get on each others’ nerves partly because Phoenix will entertain any idea and Miles has tunnel vision. He comes to a conclusion and refuses to budge, then gathers (or fabricates) evidence to support what he’s already decided. I understand an argument for ISTJ given how he usually seems firmly grounded in reality, but I think that comes from te. Because ISTJ would require ne, which I just…can’t see at all, even as his inferior function. I haven’t had the chance to play the investigation games yet, but from what I understand, we see him find the underlying essence of the situation and piece together the most likely outcome based on what he can prove. He also says that he isn’t one for sentimentality, preferring to focus on the future, and that people can miss the truth entirely by only trusting what they see in front of them.
Apollo Justice: ISTJ
Apollo is the ISTJ poster child. His ability is literally si; close observation and gathering details to compare them to what he already knows to be true. His te wants structure in his life and his work (he’s surrounded by ne-doms though, so good luck 😵💫) and he likes playing by pre-established rules, so Phoenix’s whole ne/ti thing frustrates him sometimes, particularly in aa4 where he’s annoyed that Phoenix won’t be straightforward or use conventional methods to prove his innocence. He needs help seeing the big picture, but he gets there because of …
Trucy Wright: ENTP
She’s so much like her dad!! I won’t get too in depth with her because almost everything I said about Phoenix applies to her, too. Again, I see an argument for ENFP, but she’s a lot more analytical than people give her credit for, and she can detach from emotion much more easily than an ENFP. The murder of her father and the accusation of her uncle is obviously difficult for her, but she isn’t concerned in the moment with how the outcome will make her feel, and she doesn’t linger on how any of her family drama has impacted her. She’d rather take care of others’ emotional wellbeing and she sometimes feels responsible for them, which is tert-fe.
Klavier Gavin: ENFJ
BIG fe-dom. He connects with people so easily, he cares a lot about his image, he switches his stance on a case based on what will have the most positive impact on everyone involved. He was able to be manipulated by Kristoph because his brother’s approval was so important to him. But he always had a nagging feeling that what he did to Phoenix was wrong and that Kristoph couldn’t be trusted, because something just felt off. His tert-se shows in him gladly playing the role of the impulsive, artsy rock star archetype, which is clearly a genuine part of who he is, but he has much more foresight than an se-dom usually would.

FFAF; unfortunately I’m unsure which muses are yours, so let’s solve that :) can you give me a paragraph summing up each of them? Feel free to add in why you like them so much!
Sure thing! I could talk about my characters all day! I’m like that mom at the park that bombards other moms with pictures of her kids! In true mom fashion, I’ll even talk about them in their “age order”! It’s a lengthy answer, but you asked for it! Literally!
Bey’ron Everblaze ( @lordbeyron ) is one of my oldest and most complex characters. He’s gone through a few rewrites and adjustments, but his main core themes have always been cunning, pride, and a lust for power - and all these shine through in his current and hopefully final iteration. A renown Sin’dorei Magister and member of the esteemed Sun Council, Bey’ron sees himself as something of a puppetmaster on the political stage of Quel’Thalas. While he wouldn’t say it aloud, his sights have long been set on becoming the Sun King. And everything he does moves him in that direction. I love playing Bey’ron because of how others react to his haughty self-aggrandizing, his smug confidence, and his condescending tone. But those who look beyond or wade through his douche-baggery often find something in Bey’ron they can relate to - good or bad.
Argonas the Ironclad ( @argonas ) is a Draenei Vindicator and poster-child for the Light’s Justice! As lawful-good as my characters come, Argonas seeks to protect his people and advance the Light’s design to bless Azeroth, and all worlds beyond it. In his own mind, he’s a paragon! But in reality, he’s not without his shortcomings; grief over losing his beloved wife Sinafay ( @sinafay1 ) plague his motivations as of late. And his acute xenophobia makes it difficult for him to forge relationships with non-Draenei. I love playing Argonas because it’s such an interesting mindset to step into. When does lawful good become more damaging than helpful? How does zealotry undermine purity? And how far over the line can blind faith drive someone? I have a lot of fun exploring these questions and more through playing Argonas!
Gattius Starfrost ( @gattius-starfrost ), formerly Gattius Lightmourn, is a Sin’dorei doctor and Blood Knight reservist. His story began as a story of coping with great loss. His beloved partner Alteris was taken from him during the Pandaria campaign, and he had a difficult time coming to terms with it. But through delving into duties as a medic of a military organization, and reconnecting with his childhood friend (and now beloved wife, @syrielle ), Gattius is proof that helping others also helps one’s self. Playing him is a lot of fun because of how his values and flaws collide. He’s a doctor who chain-smokes like a chimney, supportive of his wife’s political goals though hates the Magistry, feels strongly for many people but regards himself a strong proponent of monogamy, and often lets his good intentions get derailed by his own jealousy. All in all, Gattius is among my favorite characters to write!
Avehi the Adamant ( @avehi-the-adamant ) is easily my favorite character on my roster. The dichotomy of a Draenei Death Knight has long intrigued me! Also a Vindicator like Argonas, Avehi’s path took an abrupt left turn when she died in the Plaguelands serving alongside the Argent Dawn. But her story didn’t end with her death - it was only the beginning! Now an abomination in the eyes of the Light she once so devoutly served, Avehi struggles with maintaining a connection with her fellow Draenei as well as contending with their mass mentality and belief system which casts her out. She’s been especially fun to play and write recently, ramping up into the upcoming Shadowlands expansion! So closely tied to the afterlife, Avehi’s picked up on disturbances beyond the veil. Her investigation has led her to concede on some of the more unsavory powers Death Knights possess in her pursuit of a truth most mortals find too outlandish to believe! As I said, she’s my absolute favorite character at the moment, and I love every chance and opportunity (or excuse) to play and write her!
Brent Sunborn ( @brent-sunborn ), aka Brentius Lor’aran, is an antagonist character written up during my Phoenix Guard days. A former Farstrider who fled Quel’Thalas after the Scourge Invasion, Brent got heavily involved in the Twilight’s Hammer cult. After playing his villainous role in the Guard’s story towards the end of Legion, Brent was reborn as a Void Elf Ghostblade! The fun thing about Brent is his youth. To him, things have always been very binary - good or bad, black or white. But through not only his tenure as a “PG Bad Guy”, but well beyond to even current storylines, he’s learning more and more that things aren’t always one thing or another. Coming to terms with those layers and gradients has been a journey for him. As of late, he’s struggling with adapting to the fall of the final Old God, N’Zoth, and the undoing of the Twilight’s Hammer cult he’s been a part of for so long! Despite now living through TWO end-game scenarios for him, Brent’s story is still very much building up! However, most of it happens in writing and planned interaction. The edgy loner Void Elf Rogue troupe doesn’t play well in-game for walk-ups, I’m afraid. x.x
Grakkar Gorefang ( @grakkar-gorefang ) is an old Mag’har Orc, facing the decline of his life. In his prime, he was a Warsong Raider of great skill, strength, and speed. And while he still possesses those traits, his advanced age is catching up to him every day. Hailing from alternate Draenor, Grakkar was a soldier of the Iron Horde. But following Gul’dan’s assumption of command, he renounced the fel-corrupt organization and fought alongside his Frostwolf mate Neela once more to see Draenor free of tyranny. At least... until the advent of the Lightbound Draenei. Losing his beloved Neela during that dark and terrible time for Draenor, he found comfort and companionship in an unlikely place - alternate Sinafay! ( @sinafay-the-defiant ). Opposing the oppression the Draenei had turned on their Orcish neighbors, Sinafay, Neela, and Grakkar worked together to liberate Orcs taken from their homes and forced to adhere to the Light. Now having escaped alternate Draenor, the two of them live together on Azeroth raising their newborn daughter - named after Neela, their beloved friend and partner who brought them together. Grakkar’s been fun to play as a character unbound by the factional divide. While the Horde saved him from alternate Draenor, he has no strong allegiances to it. And given he’s in love with a Draenei, that’s probably for the best! Still, playing and writing him through the Battle for Azeroth story line has been an interesting and fun experience!
Dahlyah Grimshatter ( @dahlyah-grimshatter ) is a young and outgoing Dark Iron Bounty Hunter. She built her martial experience as an Anvilrage Reservist. She moved on from simple soldiering to become a Mountaineer when the Dark Iron fought back against the Blackrock orcs and Black Dragonflight. But after the fall of Emperor Thaurissan and subsequent rise of Queen Moira Thaurissan, which led to the Dark Iron nation becoming part of the Alliance, Dahlyah separated from formal military service to go freelance! Her father’s something of an antagonist in her story, despite being largely absent. But more will come of that soon, to be sure. She’s good-natured, friendly and amicable most of the time. But once she’s on the job, her fiery Dark Iron blood takes over, and she becomes quite relentless and aggressive! She’s rarely without her trusted hunting companion and best friend, Ridley - a Dark Iron Bloodhound! Dahlyah is a relatively new character of mine, and one I’m eager to flesh out! I’ve always had a love for and interest in the Dark Iron Dwarves since I started playing World of Warcraft, so I was absolutely thrilled when they became a playable race! I’m very excited to play her more and build up relationships and stories for her!
Finally, Tyrellius Duskfury ( @tyrellius ) is a sin’dorei Demon Hunter looking to reintegrate back into society. He’s an older elf who has experienced a great deal in his long life. Formerly a merchant and caravan runner, he became a Royal Guard to help protect his homeland. After the Scourge destroyed the Sunwell, he followed Prince Sunstrider loyally, and became a Blood Knight. Later, he was selected to serve Lord Illidan in an effort to strengthen ties between Prince Sunstrider and the Demon Hunter. He became an Illidari, and fought tooth and nail against the Legion! Now, with the wars against the Legion, Old Gods, and Alliance coming to a close, he’s struggling to rejoin society as peacefully as he can, despite the demons of his past he - literally - carries with him! Tyrellius is my newest RP character, rolled up and fleshed out in just the past 2-3 weeks as of this posting! I’m excited to play him, and build up interactions and relationships to better help his story unfold!
Whew! That was a long one! Thanks @unabashedrebel for the ask! ^^

I know you're a big x-men fan (possibly an understatement?), so do you mind me asking if you have any thoughts on the upcoming Jean Grey movie? I don't know enough about her in the comics to really know what to expect (though I do very much like Sophie Turner)
So, with the caveat that I actually did not know this movie was being made until you sent this ask and I cannot find even a teaser trailer for it (I strongly suspected that this was bullshit for a second, until I found some articles), here are Some Thoughts.
First off, Apocalypse was actually my favorite X-Men movie in a very long time--I liked First Class, and the very first Singer X-Men has some nostalgia value, but Apocalypse actually felt like a damn team movie, which was a thrilling change of pace. That being said, every time they announce a new X-Men movie I live a few hours in existential despair about adaptations of my all-time favorite comics characters, and I usually set aside a few hours to have a crisis before I actually go see the thing, and a few more to watch X-Men Evolution afterward. I was actually so frustrated I cried when they announced Logan. I still went to see it! I did! But I spent a couple days fuming about how much damage the movies have done to my love for Wolverine, first.
That being said.
Things I am Tentatively Excited About
Clearly they have already figured out that Dark Phoenix needs to be the Whole Entire Plot. None of this “Also let’s talk about the Cure” nonsense. Don’t half-ass two huge plotlines, whole ass one huge plotline.
Apparently they’re taking extra time in post to do the effects, so hopefully it’ll be VISUALLY dazzling, regardless.
I LOVED Sophie Turner as Jean Grey in Apocalypse and I’m so, so glad they’re going to keep her going as the Star Of The Show. She did a great balance of ‘I’m going to do what needs to be done because I’m the one who can do it’ and ‘oh BOY am I ever screamingly terrified of my powers’, which is really what I like to see in any character at all, but especially Jean Grey. There’s a fine line to walk between ‘character with legitimate fears about what embracing their powers could turn them into’ and ‘Girl who is Afraid Of Herself and needs to be Encouraged’, and I think Ms Turner did an amazing job walking that line.
Speaking of being afraid of one’s powers, I actually also loved Scott in Apocalypse, he had a real personality and that’s depressingly rare in Scott Summers. Please don’t be mean to him, he’s a great character, just because he’s not a delinquent doesn’t mean he’s this featureless Fun Ruiner. I thought his dynamic with Jean had a lot of promise and I’m hopeful that they get some mileage out of that.
I think Hugh Jackman has gone into witness protection from the X-Men franchise, so probably no Logan/Jean/Scott love triangle, which--thank you God and also Jesus, I’m Over that love triangle and I have been since I was eight.
I don’t know if they’re planning to have Storm, Kurt, or Jubilee in the movie, but I also loved all of them and would really be thrilled to see them. I have higher hopes about Storm than the others.
All I want out of this is a good Scott/Jean dynamic, everything else is second fiddle and lower. Please, after all these fucking X-Men movies, give me a good Scott/Jean dynamic.
Things I am Already Dreading
Hoo boy, folks, as you may have deduced from my above comment about Jean Grey, the plot of “I’m afraid of my powers” can get into some distasteful areas preeeeeeeetty quick. If they’re determined to go the route of ‘Jean has these abilities within her purview unassisted, but she’s unable to control them’ they’re going to be getting into territory that could go phenomenally well or astoundingly badly.
As mentioned above, if this is straight up and down issue of Jean having these powers as a natural part of her skill set, that’s fine, but please God if you’re doing that and you still want to delve into the fact that, hey, yeah, Jean Grey has some real issues, just don’t be a dick about it. I’m not even asking for a sensitive take on PTSD and the idea of being traumatized by your own brain in the most literal sense, I’m just asking for not being an ass.
I just want a movie with some fucking aliens. They don’t seem to have any fucking aliens. The Phoenix Force is a fucking alien space thing. Give me some fucking space shit, it has been so many movies and yet I have no space shit.
If this is a movie about how Charles Xavier is a bad person and/or an idiot, I’m going to have a stroke. Listen. He allowed a child to live her fucking life by closing off powers she was wildly unprepared to handle, and helped her adjust bit by bit. That doesn’t make him a fucking monster and I am deeply over the take that Xavier is a hypocrite, a fool, and somehow the bad guy. Just because Magneto’s philosophy isn’t strictly speaking wrong does not make Magneto right, and it does not make Xavier stupid for trying for a better outcome. Believing that life is valuable is never the wrong call--which, incidentally, is a philosophy I learned from the fucking X-Men.
Things About Which I am Undecided
They’re planning to have Magneto in it which...look, y’all, I love Ian McKellan with a love that is true and pure, but having Mags in Last Stand was a questionable decision at best, tied into the frankly Bad decision to do the Cure plot as well as Dark Phoenix. I enjoy Fassbender’s Magneto and like his dynamic with Xavier very much, and would normally be pleased to see them be Tense at each other some more. However. Last Stand has made me permanently skeptical of having Magneto in a Dark Phoenix narrative.
Like I said, they don’t have the Shi’ar or any space shit at all, as far as I can tell, which. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ll be curious to see how they do the plot without that component, because, again, Last Stand went poorly.
The cast, particularly Sophie Turner, say that this film is “more emotionally-laden and grounded” and oh my God guys, that could go so well or it could be a train wreck. You know what else was supposed to be emotionally laden? Civil War. I think we are all learning about my opinions on that subject.
It’s gonna have Mystique in it, which--listen. I understand that she’s a good obvious parallel to Xavier, in that her powers are physically obvious and his are not, et cetera et cetera, but I never reeeeeeally cared that much about Mystique prior to First Class and I can’t say that Days of Future Past (FUCK DoFP) or Apocalypse really kept up my interest. So. Like. I care a lot more about any of the other options for a focus character.
I want some good Xavier and Magneto interactions, if Magneto’s going to be there anyway. I do NOT want this to be another movie about Xavier and Magneto’s relationship delicately supported by another character undergoing a much more interesting plot.
Things You Can Expect Regardless of Actual Film Quality
I’m gonna write some posts. It’s inevitable. They will either be rhapsodies about my love for the film or wrathful breakdowns of all my complaints.
I’ll probably write some fic. I’m still really happy with limitations of wax, which takes place after Apocalypse, and I have that long-ass post-canon Evo-verse fic in the works still (pushing 60 pages). I like talking about the X-Men.
If Kitty Pryde and Piotr Rasputin are in this movie for 0.0001 seconds, I regret to inform you that you will all be hearing A Great Deal about them.
I will continue to be Not Interested in Charles Xavier/Erik Lensherr.
So, uh...those are my thoughts.
I love the Dark Phoenix arc, I think I should say that as a closer. On a wider level, wildly overpowered characters are really interesting to me, largely because everyone’s terrified of writing them and therefore most versions feel very unique. On a more specific level, I think the comic concept of the Phoenix Force becoming addicted to life, addicted to the experience of being alive, and shattering star systems just to see what the sparks of the planets taste like as they fade out--I think that’s a gorgeous story. A tragedy, to be sure, the Trojan War against one woman, with casualties spent as carelessly as sand, but a gorgeous tragedy. If they do a good job with Jean, I’m sure I’ll be just as game for it.
Y’all I’m gonna write a fic after this movie called “terahelen (serious inroads on the welfare of the galaxy)” and it’s going to be the most upsetting tragic shit about Scott and Jean that I can possibly pump out.
