Great episode to get to after recent palisade happenings. I obviously remember the "Integrity demands intimacy" but there's so much other great stuff here.... "They found each other in the wreckage of optimism" is just incredible.

Edit: Noting the wording of " [...] the Apostolosian became the sword and shield of Integrity" because Integrity literally is both those things - they are the armor Sokrates wears and the weapon they wield - but it positions them here both as a protector of Integrity and someone Integrity acts through (divines & candidates!).

And I love that this gives Integrity pre-Sokrates interiority I had honestly completely forgotten about. "For the first time in centuries, Integrity doesn't fear it's candidate" A divine afraid(!) of what it can do together with it's candidate, the power it gives. And then what Austin describes in pal29 comes to mind, which is like, "if there was a time when Integrity was like, you know, 'Finally someone has come to help me get out of this situation.' That is not what's happening here." It's interesting because that phrasing of if not the current but a past state("that time has come and gone ")... it still sounds like fear a little bit. And that obviously isn't the case anymore (I don't feel like typing out this Austin quote but he said something about the notion of immortality & change that made me real happy. I love that shit) & I'm curious to learn more about this hopefully.

I love Integrity & while I don't think of it as "the good one", it's fate is important to me because is still one of the sickest divines (which is really saying a lot with like, Perennial and Motion et al. around).

I think Power Joe is STUPID and SMELLY and is definitely the more annoying one. Not fun to combine with either! And he doesn't even wash his hands after he has his oil changed-

you know what,,,, i finished my classes early so i rewatched the ep and its not nearly as bad as i remembered (give or take a few lines). i forgot this is the ep where chloe actually made a truce with mari!! i completely forgot that was a b plot of this episode! and the 2d animation feature like,,, i can forgive anything to see that in the series again

Maybe this is a silly question to ask about a podcast that 1) isn't fiction and 2) has hundreds of episodes, BUT. Do you have a favorite Knowledge Fight episode? Or maybe, idk, a favorite 'era' or type of episodes? A friend sent me a playlist of all the ones covering the Sandy Hook lawsuits - man those formulaic objections eps are fun! - and I've just finished listening to the last one on the list. So I guess I'm looking for recs on what to listen to next?

The whole formulaic objections series is good, i like the ones where they discuss Alex as a guest on Joe Rogan's Podcast, episode 25 about Dennis Montgomery is a good early example of Dan's research habits (episode 26 has the 4 ways to learn which is, like, foundational knowledge fight lore), Ep 392 about January 24th 2020 gets into a foundational thing for the covid info that will follow ("it's over for humanity, there will only be lone survivors" - they were VERY VERY worried about what they later decided was overblown) the responses to the court cases (602, 714, 715) that aren't formulaic objections are ALSO good, the episode about Bill Ayers (168) on infowars is really good, the episode about chompsky on Infowars is good (should pop up if you search chompsky in their episode list, 404 "Mr. Jones goes to CPAC" is good, and I like all of the multi-episode series about the documentaries. I like the episode when Jordan comes back to the US after the unite the right rally too - one thing I like in most podcasts I listen to is the leadup to and aftermath of big events, so I end up listening to November 2019 - September 2020 pretty intently across podcasts and knowledge fight is no different, they did good coverage of the way people were covering the Many Events of 2020.

I'm on my third full listen through and my podcast app shows that I've spent 4001.2 hours listening so far (I listen to everything at 2-2.5x speed) and I think they really start getting very very good after they kick off the formulaic objections. The early stuff is also good but they're also both excitable and more willing to jump to conclusions (I'm on about episode sixty right now and Dan is willing to make guesses about stuff in his time travel episodes and assert things that I don't think he would these days.)

I really like most of the "chatting with" episodes where they're talking to another person who researches in a similar space and I usually really appreciate Jordan's interviews but sometimes he's just too left for a more center guest and it becomes too awkward for me to listen to (I have to skip the Brian Stelter episode - I understand why Jordan interviews the way that he does and TBH I approve, I just can't listen to it).

If you're looking for another playlist to get started I'd say try episodes 130A-130E, which is the breakdown of the endgame documentary.

If you decide to start listening and you are coming across wacky wednesday episodes and finding yourself bored, just skip them and you won't be missing out.

(it may be a silly question to ask most people but it's not a silly question to ask me because I *DO* have my favorites out of nearly a thousand episodes of a nonfiction podcast about alex jones).

SO. You may be asking, "what happened to him?" And I am here to EXPLAIN! :]

This AU is still a fairly [pun unintended] big WIP, so some details are still all over the place/undecided, and some may change over time; constructive criticism, opinions/thoughts, questions, are all appreciated!

The general idea is, well... divergent from the finale. What if, after the chip is grabbed and Hazel, Wanda, [and maybe Cosmo? I don't recall if he goes with them/ends up somewhere else] go to fix the wand, Peri explodes. And it gets undone when Hazel wishes to fix Fairy World. Buuuttt... not quite!

It wasn't her 1 Millionth Wish that she used up on Fairy World— which is why it Doesn't Quite Fix Him Going Kaboomey. But I imagine that having 1Mil Wishes had a mild influence on What Happened and why exploding DID get fixed... sort of. [I need to brainstorm specifics on this.]

ANYWAY.

Peri looks GENERALLY normal most of the time, except for, well, *gestures at reference.* Outside of THAT [cracked wand, cracked crown [crack hidden by the glow], slightly off color pallete], there's some other stuff that's just a Hint of Wrong.

Like coughing up confetti and/or rainbows [without any other sign of magical backup [which he can't experience anymore because he did technically already die via backup.]] And sometimes the funny silly wacky expressions that happened during buildup [big ol' eyes/pupils, star shaped pupils, funny faces [like when he was talking to Dev.]

Throwing this in here. Sometimes he just stares like the TBH Creature. It's kinda silly kinda funny. I need to make a Petrified!Peri TBH emote because that fits well.

I was ALSO thinking about the idea that sometimes limbs can detach [the ghost fairy in that one ep is what gave me this thought], mostly for expressive purposes/fun silly purposes. It can be seen in this image here! Still DEBATING on this, though.

Cosmo and Wanda Don't Know He Died [because of not being right there] But something Is Off. Peri probably doesn't at first either until they [themself] put it together through context clues, and then they're like, "ooohh no, mom and dad probably don't know I exploded!" And he gets REALLY nervous about them finding out because that'd be A Lot and he doesn't want to Worry Them [because... he fucking died.]

So. There's a lot of him just trying not to Act Suspicious. Which only makes them both concerned! I have so many silly funny interactions between them that I imagine, actually!

Like...

Peri: *Talking. Suddenly... star pupils!*

Wanda: Um. Sweetie?

Peri: Hey do you see that?

Cosmo: Oooh, see what?

Peri: Over there! *Points.*

Cosmo + Wanda: *Looks over.*

Peri: *Disappears.*

WHICH. YEAH. SO. GHOST FORM. They're completely hidden when they're actually a GHOST, and has no wand/wings when they're a ghost, either [they do have wings normally, I just forgot to include them in the reference.] And I imagine whenever they poof into their ghost form that they leave a tiny bit of confetti behind!

ALSO.

He reassigns himself to Dev on his own [who didn't forget after the finale.] And his magic is kind of fucked up. Cause he's DEAD and look at his fucking WAND. So wishes kinda get fucked up when granted a bit sometimes ehehehaha...

ANYWAY.

I am also dumping my Peri headcanons onto him. They're transmasc nonbinary and use he/they pronouns and they're also aroace! :3

Weekly thoughts, ep 195-

Let's get back into these, shall we? Sorry I skipped the past two weeks. Tbh I had a lot of thoughts about the past 2 Desmond episodes, but no one really gets hype about Desmond stuff so I didn't bother typing them out. Sorry to the 2 Desmond fans.

Honestly, a little ironic I get back into writing these this ep. I had a ton to say the last two eps but don't have much to say about this one. It was very much another one of those uhhh. Getting from point A to point B episodes? Where Desmond's awake and we gotta catch him up now.

I will say one thing about this ep tho-- I saw a lot of comments leading up to this ep about how much Desmond would hate being a red blank and how this is gonna make him hate himself anymore... And I'm sure that was Rex's worry too... But nope! Desmond's entire arc was learning to love himself and not hate himself for being a blank. He's kind of completed that arc, so now even being a red blank isn't gonna make him hate himself again. He's done being ashamed of himself. Maybe if this had happened like...somehow last season or earlier, I'd have him be more loathing, but uh... Yeah, we're getting close to the end of CoB and it's time to start wrapping up some character arcs, and I think this was the final test for Desmond's. He isn't ashamed to be a blank anymore, even a red one.

...He is disappointed that he doesn't at least get cool powers out of it though. And I'm glad people enjoyed all the little gags this episode lol. I REALLY missed drawing the trio all being silly together again, especially with Rex's little bug mask. This was the first episode that really felt like I was drawing a scene from "the good ol days" and even if it wasn't a very big or particularly important episode, it was a happy little break.

Our Youth - Ep 4

It's been a while since I've watched a BL series that was so "dense" with emotion, great scenes, meaningful shared scenes of lovers, so packed with the good stuff I love in my BLs. Usually there are a few scenes like that per ep and then I live on them for a week until the next episode - in the case of Our Youth, about 95% of each episode is pure goodness, which leaves me overwhelmed and unable to put together a coherent sentence 😍

Hirukawa's level of seduction is out of this world, no matter what he does, it's like he's testing human susceptibility to temptation lol I wouldn't last 5 minutes with him without developing a major crush, he's out of this world. Plus his honesty, lack of filter and boldness is so hot, he's so daring when he keeps pushing Minase's boundaries, when he kisses him, when he nibbles and licks his hand. Even when he's being playful, he's super sexy, like he's constantly on the fine line between what seems innocent and something dark and erotic. I'm telling you… I'm weak 😭 I also liked when Minase looked with a little smile at his kissed hand when he came back from the trip 🥺

After Harukawa asks Minase to "infect him a little", their kisses, their vibes change. It looked as if Harukawa was asking Minase to let him in, to respond to his feelings and desires, which Minase does by letting himself be kissed and kissing back (no more dead-fish kisses!! 🥳). Watching Our Youth I have fun replacing their "code" words with others, like weird/strange = gay, infect = kiss / let go / let someone in, childish = allowing oneself to be carefree and silly / to act on feelings / to have pleasure / to live in the moment, spontaneously without worrying about being judged.

Watching the development of their feelings and their relationship, the tightening of their bond from the sweet and romantic moments, through the intensity of their growing sexual awareness, ending with the dark side of their lives connected with family, school, violence, which entwine them together adding a new layer to the bond that is becoming stronger, more intense and complex - it is an incredible experience. They are already functioning together on so many levels, and it seems that it's not over yet, that there's more.

This is a compelling, captivating story, surprisingly told in only 20-minute episodes. Amazing. I'm so in love.

Hirukawa's seductiveness is obvious and visible from space, but tbh, if Minase looked at me like that, I would melt on the spot like that blue popsicle lol
