you know what,,,, i finished my classes early so i rewatched the ep and its not nearly as bad as i remembered (give or take a few lines). i forgot this is the ep where chloe actually made a truce with mari!! i completely forgot that was a b plot of this episode! and the 2d animation feature like,,, i can forgive anything to see that in the series again

Kingdom Hearts 3 - Le Grand Bristot
#kingdom hearts 3#kh3#twilight town#scenery#my gif#we don't get much of an opportunity to properly look at the interior of the bistro so i wanted to showcase it as best as i could#it's very cozy#i love how they incorporated remy into this game and the bistro was a great addition to liven up the town#food is so culturally important and i love how you have to travel across the worlds to find unique ingredients and create a diverse menu#that's just such a fun idea#admittedly i forget to eat any of the food i cook because i'm saving it for when i need the stat boosts (which ends up being never)#if they gave sora a quick animation to show him eating or even a voice line like “mmm yummy!” then i'd probably remember to use it more lol#basically i only play the cooking minigames for the prize of earning the keyblade themed off the restaurant#they're cute but i would enjoy them more if they were more involved and not just cracking a single egg to create a whole dish#side note: you can see a sticker of the pizza planet truck on the cabinet above the sink in the third gif

A shortcut!#Now imagine for a sec trying to get through a parkcore + miros bird gauntlet with a corpse and a worm within 5 cycles#before the scav ran out of karma and you were stuck inside forever. Yeah#Besides that tho I've been messing around and been very tenderly modding the game.#Turns out you can have a bit of fun with most sprites without too much effort by simply cloning the MSC mod in your files#Then changing the copy's mod info so it doesn't clash and simply swapping images out for whatever you want#As long as you have the sprite name you can do this. You can also change region names and decals and music all sorts of stuff.#In short I've been brewing a custom mod for a friend to make her suffer as much as possible <3#Thanks to a buddy on the rw server for showing me that trick btw lol. The best cesspool I've ever participated in#Oh before I forget- the symbol on CW's head is completely made up. They just looked so... Bald.#Tbh I wasn't expecting their personality to be so... bright? Most interpretations make them kinda solemn and gloomy#But nah this CW is what NSH should've been 100%. I like them. why do you hate Joshua Graham or Honest Hearts so much?
This DLC and character represents a bigger issue with fandom spaces I have but particularly fallout fandom in general.
Fallout tends to tackle a lot of topics controversial and not. The first two games it’s heavy cause they are the most satirical and direct with how anti-war, nationalism and etc… they are. 3 loses this as it’s very clear once you play or learn about all the games that Todd and a bunch of guys at Bethesda just liked the 50s post apocalyptic aesthetic and refuse to actually critique the ideals of the time period like the earlier titles.
New Vegas is the game that really gets back into it a degree it almost seems like it’s taking too much on. There are things done exceedingly well while other things are done horribly wrong . I’ve made posts about it before and plan to make a big series of posts (it’s a lot of writing) but my biggest gripe is with Honest Hearts and all the gross and white savior esque depictions it has of indigenous peoples. The entirety if FNV does not do the injustices faced by indigenous people correctly on any count. My two biggest complaints are with the Khans and the tribes in Zion but I’ll talk about the former on a different post.
Both characters of Daniel and Joshua are the most accurate depiction of white saviors I’ve seen and I hate how the DLC tries to justify and defend them. The DLC treats Joshua like this man who has repented for his past actions when he is just retracing his steps after his cruelty bit him in the ass. He was one of the worst parts of the Legion and it is all but explicitly stated that if you don’t force him to be non-violent he will turn the tribes of Zion into the legion 2.0. The Dead Horses and the Sorrows are horribly infantilized by both Daniel and Joshua who both use them for self serving purposes guised by religious duty. The White Legs are the horrible stereotype of violent and savage indigenous and I personally think a lot of their interlinking with Ulysses, his hair and Ulysses character in general are distasteful and very telling of how BIPOC or POC where involved.
But outside of the game it’s the weird obsession people have with these characters ideologies and trying to make them seem more interesting/philosophical than they are. Tumblr is an echo chamber and many fans of Fallout are not the people on this site. Many people are not educated in the issues these characters convey and how poorly they do or used these characters as a poor introduction for their takes. Contrary to what a lot of people believe in, fallout has a prediomeny white cis male fanbase. More importantly a large portion of the fanbase is white.
You can joke how FNV made you trans or see the numbers on post/fics or diverse headcanons but these are kiddy numbers compared to the millions that consume the franchise and aren’t in those more aware spaces or don’t engage in the spaces the same way someone like me does/has to. Their views shape a lot more than people realize and it’s exhausting to be in a space where people don’t correct the more subtle yet toxic aspects of it but also adopt them into some weird quirky view point on the characters or issues. Some people don’t realize and some people don’t care.
My main issue is just the idolizing of these sort of thing in this fandom space and people try to acts like a game like fallout whose tagline is “War never changes” and has never had a game not revolve around political or militaristic factions issues isn’t that deep or doesn’t relate to real issues. I think it’s mainly caused by how over powered you can become and how you can strong arm your way past these learning moments as majority of people who play this game do play it as a power fantasy where they can do so as they please (which of course, go ahead it’s fun) but never take in parallels or lessons in the story as if it was just another first person shooter.
Also like another personal gripe is Cazadores spawn like hell whenever I’m there and I have not found a mod that works to mod them out so I have to play Indigenous Racism the DLC while getting jumped by giant wasps WHILE helping Mormons. Like I cannot catch a break.
#I’m mostly silly or character headcanon focused on this blog#but sometimes I forget some people literally have never interacted with someone slightly outside of their ideologies or don’t learn about#philosophies that don’t pertain to their view point and actively block them out#and so I have like a meltdown and occasionally post about it cause like I see more people hate Danse for regurgitating BoS teachings than#hate Joshua Graham who helped found the legion participated in their practices and still has this weird bloodlust#like make it make sense why do you like this white man genuinly like outside of his aesthetic#I can say silly shit about them hit it’s always I think it’s surreal they even exist while others genuinely wish they did so they could fix#them and some of all don’t realize how quickly jokes lead people down rabbit holes and pipe lines cause ur not gonna see posts even pitying#that man in here#like when I defend Danse it is through the signs and events in game that show he is not stuck in his ways and possibly only adopted those#beliefs because of his tramatic events with super mutants and the bos being very anti anything not human#their are affinity reaction that concern this while Joshua like moans yes when killing the white legs and is always polishing his gun goon#pile like I’ve learned too much about him the Mormon faith and that dlc to be told I’m playing favorites he is not fixable or repentent#this fandom has one of the worst issues of he’s my fave so he can’t do wrong when some of this characters are literal unapologetic rapist#racists or individuals who condone or perpetuate like ideas and concepts like obviously I’m gonna not like them????!#like I still think it’s interest to dissect them and I try so hard to not be a hypocrite but sometimes it’s like the whole this is just a#fun thing for you but like be aware of what you are taking in and reflect like is so important fiction can slowly seep into your morals#I’m rambling and losing track of shit so imma stop here before I reach the tag limit but again dm and ask cause this is the stuff I will#blab about#horrible at normal conversation tho#fallout#fallout new vegas#joshua graham#honest hearts#ask#anon#fallout 3

cavan got an ask about it so i am thinking of it but it is truly really funny when raven neil aus have ichirou or kengo or even tetsuji for that matter weirdly fixated on neil even if it's in a bad way (re: going out of their way to abuse him). the powerful men with a bloody empire that cannot even acknowledge their own blood family in riko would not spare a single thought for some no name wesninski downgrade in the perfect court i fear.............. as far as they are concerned pc members are literal dirt under their shoes. just a deeply unserious way to create angst for a character that does not need it

Regarding the whole "Fandom Is An Escape, so why should I have to care this much about misogyny/racism/ableism/transphobia/etc." thing. Idk about the rest of you, but it gets kind of hard for me to "escape" when I keep seeing people say the same vile things about characters who share aspects of my identity that I hear all the time in real life.
#gotta say: it doesn't make me feel any better getting ignored/disparaged on account of my gender irl and then seeing every fictional woman#also get ignored/disparaged when there is no material difference between her and popular male characters other than her gender#how do I escape from irl misogyny if y'all keep willfully ignoring and flinging gendered insults at 99% (<-lowball estimate) of#female characters? how do I put aside the ableism I face in real life when y'all discuss disabled/mentally ill characters in the most#absolutely out-of-pocket way? how do I forget about biphobia when the 'arguments' you make 'for fun' about bisexual characters#in fiction sound EXACTLY the same as the things people say about my bisexuality outside of the internet/fan culture?#and then obviously this gets compounded if you are trying to even simply EXIST in fandom as a poc or a trans person or an intersection of#any or all these varying identities/life experiences#like yes caring about fictional characters is not the same as caring about real people OBVIOUSLY I can't BELIEVE I have to keep clarifying#that. and at the same time!! because multiple things can be true at the same time!!!! engaging in behavior that enforces pre-ingrained#societal biases and prejudices!!!!!!!! does not help dismantle those biases and prejudices!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in a real-world way that DOES#involve caring about actual people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#it's also. interesting. when people go on & on about how some newest show about thin cis white (male) gays is So Important & Revolutionary#So We Must Do Everything To Keep It Relevant And Visible and then act this way about women/poc/trans people/disabled people/fat people#in media. so like. you DO agree that seeing a variety of life experiences represented in fiction is beneficial. you DO believe in the#value of depicting marginalized people. interesting that that only seems to apply to a VERY narrow and specific category of marginalization#(ugh remember when I talked about this and someone called me a straight person good times)

Speaking of replaying things...got it in my head recently about maybe playing Death Stranding for a second time. Played it through once a few years ago and didn't think I'd want to do it over again.
So last night I thought I'd watch some of a YT playthrough, see how I felt about it. And after about and hour or so, I stg I've oscillated back and forth between...
Oh hell yeah! I can remember there was a lot here I really liked that was enough for me to finish the whole thing the first time; and
Bluhhhhhhhhhhhhh I also remember why I haven't wanted to play it again until apparently now lol
...like 20 times.
#like fr watching the whole opening sequence with fragile and the bike crash i'm like yessss alright alright alright#and then the whole voidout sequence is demonstrably sick and id truly forgotten how awesome some of the major scenes are#and the actual PLAYING part of it was - to me - oh so satisfying and fun#the slow and deliberate preparation and planning for each trip#the BTs and the little detector thing you have are so cool and tense#but...then the two “Die-/Dead-” dudes show up and just will not evER SHUT UP and let you just play the f-ing game#every character other than sam is so gratingly and distractingly earnest with every word they speak#it's as if every character is an animatronic historic figure from a theme park ride#guy walks up to Sam the main character. Sam sees it's Diehardman. the screen says 'Diehardman'. Diehardman says “SAM...ITS DIEHARDMAN” x100#and my god all of the “if we rebuild ***AMERICA*** with YOUR help we can SAVE the WORLD” makes me want to vomit#the number of times they screech into your earpiece every 10 fucking paces to be like “SAM...” “SAM...” “SAM...”#and they keep saying “I know I don't need to tell you this but...”#then fucking DONT TELL ME#“...but the audience needs to know this..." even though you were fucking BORN in this world and are a ”seasoned pro“ as they refer to you#“SAM...don't forget. You can use LADDERS to climb both UP and DOWN. A pro like you MIGHT even be able to find OTHER uses.”#“SAM...the PRESIDENT wants to see you. So yeah, I'm watching 'The Catch' and there's a scene where they're at this car show for really expensive and classic cars, (it's really weird watching this show where Bobby and Tommy Vega from Lone Star interact so heavily) and it gave me this new head canon that Tommy (the other one) loves going to car shows.

the thing about bbc merlin is that in many ways it is very tragic, in the sense that so much bad shit that happens could have easily been avoided if charcters had made different choices, hadn't been so wrapped up in prophecies, had trusted people and communicated openly literally ever, just generally got their heads out of their asses. like i know thats the point, they are trying so hard to do the right things and protect people but the story is unavoidable. HOWEVER it is all soooo fucking poorly executed that none of it is effective. so instead of thinking "wow what a tragic story about fate/destiny/whatever" you walk away like "well that fucking sucked for no reason. i hate that fuckass dragon" and i sometimes feel very cinemasins in the way i pick apart the logic but the thing is the show is written in a way that makes the characters come off as so stupid and always making terrible choices rather than like. tragic victims of circumstance.
#GOD i hate that fucking dragon#just rewatched the first mordred episode this show is so dumbbbbb#it IS often dumb in a fun campy silly way#it is MORE often dumb in a this is bad writing way#the thing that infuriates me about this episode/story is like#okay its one thing to do a story about the inevitability of a prophecy even when you try to avoid it#but thats not whats happening here#because the dragon who TELLS him the future is like. and you can stop it! by killing him!#and its like okay so the future CAN be changed. by killing a child.#but not by changing the circumstances that lead him to kill arthur in the first place#like obviously later on when that fear is what drives merlin to tell arthur magic should stay forbidden#HE IS SO DUMBBB STOP LISTENING TO THAT DRAGON#like obviously if arthur wasn't persecuting his people he wouldn't want to kill arthur......#banning magic didn't kill mordred the first time why would it work later..............#and ofc morgana worst written character of all time#its like they want to give these villains sympathetic backstories but forget that they need to end up villains#i dont remember as much about whats next for mordred but like#with morgana she is defined by her goodness!! anger towards uther and even arthur is one thing#but it is so clear that the one thing she would never do is harm her people#and they said oops how do we get out of this one. give her a weird incest thing with her secret sister who turned her suuuper evil offscree#r.txt#merlin

#outer wilds#I DIDN'T WANT TO#especially cause the 'frights' weren't so bad#i was just gettin pretty frustrated trying to sneak past these mfers in the dark. like i wasted 3 whole loops just#getting kicked out by them over n over again till we all drowned#so i was hoping reduced frights might make them less deadly or smth#echoes of the eye spoilers#and it helped immensely it made them way slower i could actually like take my time and escape them without making a dumb mistake#(i'm not a good gamer. when i'm rushed i forget how buttons work)#i really like walking around without my lantern i basically explore everything i can without it first thing its greay#simulation moment#also i Saw that thing abt falling off the boat during the 'loading' periods which i might try at some point now that i actually like#made some progress again yipee#i saw a reel that showed an old person dying in the radius of the simulation and still loading into it so#i was thinking abt that bright bridge u can't get by. this might be crazy but the alarms can't wake the dead. right.#maybe i could like jump in the campfire or like fly into the ceiling a bunch it might be fun to try

Stuck on the first few eps of Farscape after finishing up Fantasy High s2 and maybe its the whole most recently consumed bias but I'm really struck by how much it feels like a dnd game??? Bunch of weird lil renegades slapped together and put in weird situations, honestly it would make a really interesting starting point for a game
Anyway John Crichton is a bard/wizard; he does a lot of persuasion as performance and that scene of him collapsing to the floor to write slingshot equations is THE most wizard shit- perhaps Artificer would be more accurate to him but it's not a class I'm familiar with.
#most of the others i feel are fairly obvious#i do feel like thats a fun lil idea to expand on tho; write a dnd game thats Just Farscape and see how long it takes the players to notice#maybe even set it up like ok theres a bunch if Archtypes you can pick tovplay as#but instead of Zhaan Aerun D'argo etc its The Preist The Commando The Child Soldier Barbarian adhfjsjsjd#and its the PCs characters#might let that cook a lil longer#anyway yeah i honestly might make Crichton as a character bc i always forget how endearing he is to me#fuckin love Farscape man it honestly explains so much about me that i watched it at like 10 years old#its like. imo its better star wars#its closer to space fantasy than to scifi and just goes balls to the wall with it#i know the production of it was kind of insane with alot of stuff being added by the cast just messing around in character#and it gives it so much charm!!#also ultimate bisexual/pansexual/alien fucker show please help everyone is hot#baby jason ABSOLUTELY imprinted on both Zhaan and Claudia Black#im also currently workshopping a char that got a lil of aerun and a lil of crichton injected in#to be a long term foil for Sunny#basically raised by their ex and groomed to be a fucked up honeypot for them to fuck them over later#except she develops feelings for them and its all this really complex REALLY toxic dance of masks#but we'll see how that one cooks#tldr i gotta make my Bardificer later lmao#potentially with some rogue or warlock levels later on

yesterday at 29.5 years old I watched as many videos as I could find from my high school marching band, choir, and theater run crew days and realized I barely have any memories of my junior year of high school (13-14 years ago btw) other than feeling bad™️
#i know i was bullied by people i considered friends and theyre all super christians now which is so discordant with who i am lol#it was def a lonely year but i also like forgot the marching band show (it was p cool)#i literally cried my eyes out when i found the 2011 marching band vids#i was like there's little lost baby me and just wanted to hug her#and say itll be okay youre gonna go through things good and bad that you cant even imagine rn#also looking back im like wow most people were in choir OR band OR run crew#very very few ppl were in all of them and possibly nobody else was in all of those when i was?#i found a kid i guess 8 years younger than me who posted all his jazz band and choir and theater vids from my hs#and thats the only other person i can think of that genuinely got involved in all of those things#being a jack of all the performing arts and master of none was lonely tho#i didnt quite fit into any of the cliques bc i was half in half out of everything#its so insane how much i changed when i got to college (two weeks/14 days after my hs grad bc summer session...)#and that change was not instant#i was a swirly mess figuring out who i was for the first two years of college#i mean life is just a swirly mess of figuring out who you are#but like i got to college and realized i barely actually resonated with anything i was doing#and let go of and then relearned to love things like choral singing and playing flute#choral singing in college was so much better than high school bc it was for fun for everyone instead of the choral girls whole personality..#also the 'best' singers from my high school mostly aren't even in music today or doing any singing outside of karaoke...#at least i wrote a whole ass ep last year???#and ive written much more music that i havent released#idk rambling tags make it sound like the identity struggle never ends but dissociating and forgetting portions of ur life doesnt help lol#t#okay bye

i will say i think there’s a Minor exception for more ephemeral emotions where sonic Is willing to be open about them. that’s kind of two sided, bc on one hand it’s okay to be open about those Because they’re ephemeral and no one expects you to hold onto something like irritation over someone going slow, so if you forget about it people don’t consider it a big deal. i also think it works to make sonic Look like an expressive person so people don’t stop to wonder what he’s feeling on a deeper level, so it’s Defensive in that way as well
#N posts stuff#forgive me for taking literal animal qualities and giving them a metaphorical edge#but i like the idea that sonic is more made up of Defensive layers than he seems to be#like how his quills are just a cute useful design element but they Are at their core defensive mechanisms#so i kind of think that’s fun to extend to sonic’s other visible character traits#ie; his classic open expression of irritation. like in sth1&2 when he’ll tap his foot and glare at the player if they have him stand still#he’ll make kind of a big show about minor irritants and playful joking around#and they aren’t Lies but they are a little bit a kind of facade so you don’t look deeper#and they aren’t things he actually holds onto once the precise moment has passed#so he’s free to forget about them as much as he wants and that doesn’t really catch people’s attention BC they’re minor and ephemeral#whereas like. if things in sonic forces Were very bad — if sonic was open about his capture and what happened and how he felt#then a couple weeks later if someone tried to talk to him about it and he replied ‘huh? oh i don’t really remember most of the details#of that stuff anymore. who cares at this point?’ that would be Noticeable and would make people look deeper#so one he can be open about and one he doesn’t want to be
