Hehe Yep! Eurylochus in the myths was married to Odysseus younger Sister, Ctimene. So he was not only a Long time friend/brother of war/ second in command, but pretty literally FAMILY.

one would think that would make Eurylochus more lenient on Ody but nooooo.

The family reunion would be kind of awkward with Ctimene now that i think of it😅

with my phantom hourglass replay, there are two things i noticed;

a possible theme you could glean from the game is action vs inaction, and i think it's especially prevalent before you even leave mercay the first time, with oshus frequently urging link to not go after the ghost ship, then to just wait until the broken bridge is fixed, and seems reluctant at every turn while link and ciela are more than eager to go and do something about this problem, and the people of mercay in general talking about things and their problems but never seeming to act on their fears or desires, as well as the mention that due to the ghost ship, very very few people are still sailing around, while linebeck is one of the only people we see in the game actively going after the ghost ship and still sailing around. i might make a longer post just talking more about the action vs inaction in phantom hourglass but i just noticed it a bit and thought it was a bit of an interesting sort of theme you could find in the game.

linebeck moves so fucking much. i think he moves more than any npc in the rest of the game. not just in his intro cutscene where he is very animated, just in how much he moves when just standing in his little idle post, it's damn near distracting when the camera is focused on him, he moves a lot. i don't think i've really acknowledged how much he moves, and it really gives the impression that he's antsy or eager to get going, both of which fit him pretty well with how he acts.

While I answered in the last one, I think I'll add to it by saying I love the Ds9/Voyager Uniforms--Infact I'm a HUGE sucker for them--At least to me, they feel like THE signature trek costume rather than TNG or TOS ones. Plus, they are fun to draw! I love how they look on the actors with the structured upper half, and loose, high-waisted pants that give everyone the illusion of height.

Those that are dressed in the uniform are portrayed with a respectable heft and a pleasant, overall shape. I know it's not the case, but they look like they are really practical. This is fully intentional as the lead costume designer said they wanted the suits to appear modular and have advantages in different environments. That's why sometimes they are unzipped or twisted around, depending on the narrative.

I could go on and on about them. I act feral over how they look when when all the actors stand together, turned in various ways, posing so that that folds pucker on their joints, or when subtle differences in their body sizes take up screen. It just looks so cool! I'm a big fan of squad-based, colour-coded uniforms and clean silhouettes.

Most importantly though, it gives them all BODY-ODY-ODY!!!

🍽️What alien food/drink would you want to try?

I wish I could find the video but I've seen bits and pieces about how they designed the food on the sets and I think it's super charming!

Lots of effort went into considering the cuisine. It just about decorates every set and It was important to the show. Voyager engaged in a lot visual gags, or dialog discussing food. It was in a comforting way that would present the characters with their personal ideals of home.I find that subtext of world-building really endearing.

Many scenes involved characters bonding in the mess hall, socializing around food, or isolating with it to gain a sense of self. In contrast, it's used as a device for diplomacy, or to make settings seem more alien, unnavigated and removed from regular comforts. It's even incorporated into main plot points, such as with Tuvok in ''Riddles'', when he gains a newfound skill around cooking after a serious accident, and he solves the plot by decorating a code on a cake. Through food, we saw a lot of what it could be like to be a crew member on the ship, and live inside their Universe. It wasn't always pretty but they made it work.

We have a really rich food bowl and diverse food-culture In Australia, I love noticing exotic food that are used as set decoration of as props--I am used to seeing tropical fruit or Asian ingredients around my community, so it's fun to see it transformed. And much like the characters in Voyager, I relate to the comfort and the charting of new territories when it comes to seeing/ eating food.

I suspect being a chef / working in hospitality would be an interesting occupation in Trek. Everyone complains about the lack of authenticity from replicated food, so I'm sure being a good Chef would be worth your while.

I genuinely want to try Old-mate Neelix's cooking. He seems so creative and passionate about what he plates up, and he CLEARLY (they all put on weight haha) kept the crew well-fed. ''Bitches make do'', but you can tell he cares by the questions he askes everyone, or the detail he places into his recipes. I'd like to see what all the fuss is about with Leeola Root Stew. I bet it's not that bad! (I like bitter food) Or better, serve me up a Jimbalian Fudge cake! It's so quaint how there is an evolution to his work as he gets more integrated with everyone.

“Remember me…” Poseidon voice rang in his ears as he telepathically spoke in Odysseus head.

He didnt have the time to care as he fell on his knees, The bag once full of wind was crushed with what remaining strength the sleep deprived captain had.

“What the fuck…” He whispered to himself before he started shaking with anger. “What. The. FŨÇĶ!?” He yelled with all his might to no one (and yet everyone) in particular.

“Captain?” A voice filled with worry and hurt from the earlier encounter said. Odysseus view went red from anger.

Said captain head snapped towards the second in command who flinched harshly at the cold and icy eyes that pierced his own guilty and hurt ones.

“Do you know how close we were to Ithaca!?” He shouted but didn’t give Eurylochus any chance to respond. “Do you!?” He repeated

Eurylochus opened his mouth to respond before getting yelled at again.

“So fucking ĆŁØŠÉ! I could practically see the damn outline/shadow of it! And yet now we’re practically gods know how far away are on this island!” He made no sense, it was like speaking in riddles but he was just to pissed.

“Captain.” Another voice, Elpenor, hesitantly budged in, “I think you should calm-“

“I have been awake for nine days straight trying to keep that fucking windbag closed don’t tell me to calm ďøŵñ!” He growled at the poor Elpenor who was so startled that he fell on his bottom.

Odysseus breath came out ragged and his own voice felt so unatural and uncomfortable, even to him. And yet, despite it all.

He couldn’t find any reason to care.

Tears started to fall on his face, and yet, he didn’t feel them.

“Just….” He placed his hand over the bridge of his nose. “Just get off the boat, all of you and start searching what this island has to offer. The gods must want us here for a reason if we’re down here.” He sarcastically said.

The crewmates did as they were told to with no obligations. With no sound. As Odysseus sat on the shore of the island.

And yet. Eurylochus couldn’t go. He couldn’t move. The guilt and fear for his friend didn’t let him. He knew that this was practically a death sentence but better him than everyone else.

So, with all the strength he could muster up, eury walked open to the seemingly time bomb of emotions captain and said:

“Captain, I have something to confess..”

I read a book as a kid where the MC's mom is describing how her first longterm relationship ended and tells this story about how they jokingly read each other's tea leaves predicting each other's ideal futures, but then she started crying because they realized the futures didn't match up. I kind of imagine something like that happening. He's happy to have her back, he waited for her, but Minkowski starts talking about her crew she's still responsible for and all the things she still needs to fix and realizes she's not back yet, not really, and how long can she ask him to keep waiting for a version of a woman who is never coming home.

I sincerely love Camazotz, and like, if you asked me ages ago, before I found out more about my OWN self, being indigenous mexican (DNA testing made the rest of us aware that, oh, considering what we've already known from what Mama and Papa have said about their own family), I would've still come to the same conclusion.

Now, I just feel this in such a stronger sense, like...THE TRAGEDY. The way he holds love for those who are no longer there. A love so genuine, and a drive to do all that he can to ensure those sacrifices will never be in vain.

And that love still carries over to PHH, regardless of how everything ended up being in vain from his own timeline.

I just GET SO DAMN EMOTIONAL

I will tell you this, what FGO!Noa goes through is far more different than what Venti goes through, because remember, FGO!Noa is Mexican-Japanese, though to be more precise, she is indigenous Mexican on her mother's side, and Japanese on her father's side. Quetzalcoatl knows well of this aspect of hers, and is something she takes pride in.

can't really say exactly how Camazotz would react to her, but there is likely an even greater sense of sadness for him, given who the last master of humanity is in this situation. And what he wishes to do, which is take the burden she shoulders from her. Even if it means killing her, who he can sense a connection with.

Even Noa would have a hard time fighting him, and that's not even dealing with the anxiety and stress from the imminent mental breakdown she'll have against ORT. :V

From feeling most at home in this Lostbelt, due to the location and just general connection, to the eventual realization of "there's a reason this place was supposed to be pruned" and seeing it firsthand, to everything else, including ORT and Camazotz, and just vhfeljkdhjblkefjbklgf

Noa is in for a bad time.

Venti might actually be more stable in this sense, but she's still going to be losing her mind once she starts to see her Servants go down against ORT, because as a reminder, Venti's Chaldea is effectively a daycare, with a lot of coparenting servants, SO IMAGINE HOW THAT MUST FEEL TO HER. SEEING ONE OF HER KIDS GO DOWN.

It's losing Mash all over again, except multiplied by however many servants it takes to defeat ORT. *sob sob*

Kul "Yes." Captain sets down weapon and WALKS CLOSER -> Captain seems to know whats up & isnt afraid who? "hes an acquaintance" meet? "he was here before i met emmitt and then i met emmitt" probably isnt his dad "hes emmitts protector." - they stare @ each other for aminute then he dissapates & emmitt wakes up w/ a headache
