what do organs feel like in people's hands? how does the complexion of people with darker skin look like post mortem?

Organs are warm (even like ~6 hours after death) and very slippery. A good general surface touch comparison for most organs is the inside of your cheek lol

They're tightly packed inside you too, so it's not like in gory movies where the monster reaches in and pulls the heart & intestines out like they're on a spool. There’s no space to fit a hand in there, you are assembled efficiently! There's an extensive supply of rib bones, fat, blood vessels, and connective tissue to cut through before you can realistically wrench that heart out. (But i will gladly suspend my disbelief bc it looks cool)

Some organs are surprisingly firm, like the kidneys and especially the liver.

If you squish lungs, a frothy white or red/pink substance will come out, like soap from a very light sponge. They're pleasantly fluffy.

Brains are goopy and will kinda slosh around like jelly. They form to the shape of their container (normally your skull!!)

Embalming makes organs feel a lot denser and harder. An embalmed brain feels like rubber, and an embalmed liver feels solid as a rock. Lungs stay largely the same tho.

The darker the skin, the less noticeable most color changes get. Death doesn't rly affect the appearance of melanin, at least not immediately.

When you die, the most immediate skin color change comes from the cessation of blood flow, which lets blood gravitate to your lower areas (livor mortis). Like, if you're lying on your back, the blood drains from your face and settles into the back of your head and neck.

So for the same reason blushing is less obvious on darker-skinned ppl, livor mortis is less obvious too. The skin looks less warm and saturated, but not a whole lot, especially if they already had cool undertones.

Starting ~2 hours after death, the blood which has pooled in the lower areas will start to show thru the surface of the skin. With dark skin, this is a dark purple stain, like a bruise.

Music — Classics. Classical. Stuff with not a lot of lyrics. Though, he’s also fond of the Opera. He really likes Faust and Don Giovanni. Also, he secretly likes a couple of musicals--Les Miserables and Cats are probably his favourites, though he very rarely indulges in them. Books — Candide by Voltaire is his favourite novel, he’s read it several times. He is a fan of the gothic period, he enjoys books like The Phantom of the Opera. Is not a huge Victor Hugo fan because he finds him a bit wordy, but he does like Hunchback of Notre Dame. He prefers concise language in his novels, but also likes beautiful imagery. He’s an avid reader. Magazines — He reads National Geographic and TBH probably gets a copy of Vogue, as well as a few museum magazines, just to keep up with the art scene. Foods — Lou is not a very big sweets person, he prefers richer foods. His favorite is frozen grapes--red or green, that doesn’t really matter. He’s almost always snacking on grapes. Drinks — Lou loves champagne. He also is an avid drinker of water. Animals — Lou loves birds, they’re his favorite. He’s also a fan of reptiles. And he has a particular interest in dinosaurs.
