Hello hello i saw an ask meme, so i must inquire:
What is your OC’s favorite nice thing to do for themselves? / How does your OC determine that they’re attracted to someone? / Does your OC believe in soulmates? ♪(^∇^*)
Thank you for asking <3
I'll answer for Rikki (yeah, I couldn't think of a good name so used my gamertag for her and it stuck lmfao, she won't let me change it now lmfao), my Warrior of Light /FFXIV OC as well as The Twins - my two main SWTOR OCs
Rikki: She started as a Scholar and later became a Machinist, so likes to spoil herself with rare books when she finds them; otherwise she'll splurge on fancy metals to take back to Garlond Ironworks and make little trinkets. As for her attraction to Lucia, she liked that Lucia was (roughly) 1.5 feet taller than her and could "toss her around" so to speak, and that she was intense yet low-key - equally happy to go battle some monster or stay at home with a book and a cup of tea; she and Lucia match energy and Vibes very well. Plus she has a thing for butch blonds. She doesn't initially believe in soulmates, but does after she meets (and immediately falls HARD for) Lucia.
Setra: Because of the Jedi Codes she has a HARD time doing nice things for herself. As she learns to, she likes to splurge on nice oils for painting - she mostly paints with charcoal, graphite, and water color; painting oils are the Holy Grail for her. As for her initial attraction to Theron, it was a mix of looks and sense of humor, plus bonding over their respective childhoods with the Jedi Order; plus, they're both flighty when it comes to relationships, so I feel like there was a sort of unspoken understanding because of it. She 100% believes in soulmates; sees it as the Force's will, basically. She's my hopeless romantic lol.
Kevra: She likes to splurge on herself with spa days and fancy wine; she loves to pamper herself. Her attraction to Andronikos started when she realized he was the first person she truly felt "safe" with after joining the Sith; he treats her *well*. Plus they mesh well when it comes to Vibes and humor. She doesn't believe in soulmates; she thinks it's simply wishful thinking.

Oooh 27-30 for the AO3 wrapped if I can be greedy :3
Haha, of course! It seems only fitting, for how much I ramble in your answers anyway. xD
27. What do you listen to while writing?
Sometimes nothing because music can be just as inspiring as distracting. In the reverse though, I tend to write moments or scenes; I seem to have abandoned the planning and patience required for multi-chaptered works when I was younger and had less responsibility, lol. And also before I went through several years of forum-based rping and became very used to collaborative character development and short works.
I otherwise also have a habit of just looping one song for the entirety of a writing period. Ironically, I worked on this Ziost piece for Savosta and Rhystyl with a combination of Disturbia by Rhianna and Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas absolutely stuck in my head. NEITHER of which match the vibes of Ziost or that piece AT ALL, but I could NOT purge those songs and eventually I just caved. And also the doc in my GoogleDocs is literally titled "disturbia looping in my head" because this one was a gut-punch to write and a meme-y title was my coping mechanism, lmao.
My 3 most defined SWTOR characters (Tyr, of course; Savosta, my Chiss SW; and Lensan, my BH) also all have their own playlists, which is another thing I haven't successfully done in EONS, so I will sometimes shuffle their whole playlists while writing for them, or loop specific songs relevant to whatever piece I'm writing. (They also usually accompany me to work or campus because blorbo thoughts are always the answer.)
OH. ALSO. My obsession I need to beam into everyone’s head is the last like 24 hours of my life I have been CONSUMED by The Unforgiven by Metallica as an agent song. I am rotating Tyr so intently in my head. Will I manage to do anything about it? Stay tuned!
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?
inflection point was my first foray into writing and publishing for SWTOR and it remains really close to my heart for... reasons I'm pretty certain I've already mentioned for it earlier in the year, but a quick recap: I do really enjoy how I established Tyr in this one. Most of his minor mannerisms that have become essential to my picture of him made it into this fic and I think this is maybe one of my best representations of his relationship with Theron in one piece. They banter here, but they also are bone-cuttingly honest with one another - something I think is still way more difficult for Tyr than he even realizes. I apparently still can't write in chronological order ever because it's the first piece I published and it's the most recent as far as chronological story events are concerned, but, hey, I wrote it semi-shortly after actually finishing all the story content with him, so... that's my defense, lol.
take me gets an honorable mention as the other one near and dear to my heart as another one of those wrenchingly honest and intimate moments they share. I really like the unscripted aspect of both this one and inflection point. A lot of my other works have been focused around certain game moments and it sometimes feels like a bit of a cheap slip to work that way, but I end up writing them anyway because it's what my characters saw in that moment, even if it's mostly familiar to reference in game - and they're often really important distinguishments to keep track of in my head, at least, and writing them out in full just hits way harder than adding another bullet point to the Lore Doc. xD
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
Okay, I'm gonna be greedy and give you a few, I think. I'll put a cut here for them.
“Do you regret it, Tyr..?” he asked quietly.
The Commander and ex-Cipher was silent for another long moment. “No.” Tyr rolled his jaw before he finally looked back at his lover. “May I speak frankly with you, Major..?”
He’d lowered his voice, reverted once more to the comforting distance of professionalism afforded by their titles. It’d helped Quinn find his footing in the Alliance - something grounding and familiar and unchanging, unlike so much else in the last several years.
“Always, Commander.”
Tyr watched him a second longer, as if to consider whether or not he was truly prepared - or willing - to step off the ledge. “I’d burn the Empire down to the foundations, Quinn. All of it. Not for the Alliance, not for the Republic… Just… me.” He closed his eyes and released a breath measured and slow - not quite a sigh so much as… acceptance. Resignation, maybe.
Okay, so it's primarily the bold section that keeps me up at night, BUT. Uhhh, brief context, this is from a WIP that I... may or may not finish, I have two versions of this actually - one is this one, where I was exploring the idea of Tyr x Theron x Malavai that is... theoretically established after Iokath. In my head. I have barely written anything tangible about it, but I thought about it for like 3 months at one point before I finally got fed up enough with myself to write when the sirens call our names just to justify Tyr recruiting Quinn to the Alliance when he sided with the Republic on Iokath. Because it was one instance where "you should provide context" won out over the gremlin urge to write 3 pretty boys with complex loyalty issues kissing each other about it.
The other version I set him against Vector as his long-time confidant, but I have already derailed SO far, so, ANYWAY.
The reason this one hits me so hard is because Tyr carries this burn inside of him for years before he can do anything tangible about it. The constant mask of survival suffocates this from really bubbling up prior to the threat of the Eternal Empire. He doesn't see a tangible way out of the Empire when he is still Legate and the half-homeless Cipher Nine following the disbandment of Imperial Intelligence. He's drifting. He hates where he is, but he doesn't run. Where would he even go? What would he do?
I've developed bones to pick with myself for leaving him in command of something like the Alliance because it is against his every instinct to be that known, but it is where the game has him currently and it is the foundation upon which he found the personal agency to really let his dissent flourish and I can't really take that from him. To finally have the power to strike back against the people and the entity that spent years rigging him up like a marionette... He wants that, even though he knows - sort of subconsciously - that it's a path of self-destruction. It's my latest obsession with him, tbh. In between research assignments last week, the idea that he doesn't know how self-destructive he really is, but has these kind of ideas running silently through his head anyway hit me like a semi-truck and hasn't let me rest since.
“But you must see… Whatever resistance we hope to achieve, whatever war we hurtle towards… The galaxy needs you, Rhyst. This ship, this alliance are merely tools, but you were my example. My beacon.”
...
“If you cannot forgive me, I will understand,” he said. “But this war - Zakuul, Arcann, the Throne… Whatever lies Valkorian tries to weave for us, you must see it all for the mere crucible that it is! Promise me, Rhystyl! If you will allow me at your side to guard against his influence, I will not leave you. This, I swear to you on my life.”
Also this. Bc ngl, I started writing this whole thing specifically for this line. For this moment. (And also the crucible line came to me one night right before bed as I was playing the mental blorbo movies, as you do, and I just. I Needed It to happen.) Aafafuughghghghghg, this is the peak of the transformation from Savosta being distanced with Rhystyl and with everyone else - his transformation from the weapon he was made into as Baras's apprentice and Emperor's Wrath to actively fighting for himself and what he believes in. When I write one, the other is usually involved, and Rhystyl is sort of positioned to be the "main character" as far as the hero of the galaxy-centric thought might be, but I think what it really is, to me at least, is a series of how Savosta sees him. Ideally, I'll one day have a whole fic series chronicling their journey from tepid allies on Ilum to co-Commanders of the Alliance, but it'll still take me a boatload of time to write that much. So, it's really about Savosta, for me. I started him out to have a really DS Sith (and maybe for the DS 5 chievo, okay, I don't usually play such hardcore dark siders), but then... I got really attached. >.> And I decided I loved him and I was rooting for him to get better and actually break his chains.
He sees someone like Rhystyl - a hero of his people - struggle and still get back up on his feet. Rhyst doesn't always have the answers and, despite their initial misgivings with one another, Rhyst doesn't turn away his partnership, either. He largely accepts that Savosta operates differently, that there's a struggle they share that Savosta isn't ready to confront in himself until several years into the conflict. Rhyst is a mirror, in a way, that Savosta uses to reflect on the differences in their choices and their relationships. Rhyst leans on his connections to bolster his strength where Savosta has always felt incredibly isolated and mistrustful, even with his own crew. He never had that kind of trust with anyone. Rhystyl is really the first person that meets him where he is - and Savosta doesn't think he realizes it. This is the moment he decides he needs to know it. This is the moment he is determined to be there for the man that has unwittingly showed him how he can be better, how he can help himself. He needs to show the same support he feels he's gotten from Rhystyl. And this is the moment they really become inseparable friends.
I'm a little low-key obsessed with a Sith character having the crashing, brutal realization that their power struggles are not, in fact, breaking free of chains, as their code posits, but trading one master for another in an endless struggle for power to oppress the losers, alright?
30. Biggest surprise writing this year?
Honestly? Just having as much fun as I have. Writing as much as I have. Tyr is my absolute blorbo wrapped (I think that's... obvious, lol) and it's honestly just been incredible to be this into an OC again. It feels like it's been too long since I've been so in love and engaged in the development of one of my characters.
I have absolutely enjoyed other OCs I've had in recent years, but I was kinda going off to a friend the other night trying to explain just why SWTOR scratches my itch about story-based gameplay and I boiled it down there to being able to reflect so many of my perceptions about my character in-game. My semi-recent within the last maybe two or three years love for BioWare titles - beginning with Dragon Age: Inquisition, then Mass Effect, and, ofc, now we're on SWTOR - was absolutely in part because of the depth of character interaction. Given a character creator and an engaging dialogue system that affected my relationships with the pixel npc blorbos and I was absolutely hooked.
I really can't explain why he's my obsession that's held on for this long. He's my poor little Rubix Cube, I want to snap him like a glowstick and shake him up and also show him to all my friends. There's also just a charm to SWTOR about being able to explore the aspects of the SW universe that the movies don't focus on - which is how I think I've, ironically, fallen far harder for my Impside characters... against all my expectations and plans. But there's just SO MUCH to explore in them and their complex relationships with their loyalties - often shifting over time, that I just. It ENGAGES ME VERY MUCH. And I love them a lot. Kissing them all on the forehead. Even Len, that absolute jackass.
Anyway, tangent survived successfully if you've made it this far, lol. It's tldr been just. a LOT of fun. I missed it. And it's been liberating to just... actually post it. I'd struggled quite a bit to write and definitely post things within the last several years, even for things I really loved, so to just give myself over to the joy of the process and the indulgence of creating for my own little blorbo has been extremely liberating and enjoyable.

18 for the Pride Asks? And 7, 8 for the OC of your choice?
Thank you @raven-of-domain-kwaad / @the-raven-of-highever!
18. Do you prefer to give your ocs specific labels, or keep it unspecified? Why? If applicable, do you change their labels depending on circumstance?
If I don't know their identity, then I'm keeping them unspecified, and then as I figure it out I give them labels. And yes, sometimes their labels change bc they turn out to be different from what I originally thought. It just recently happened with Xaele and Jett.
7. Is there something that could cause your oc to question their identity? What?
I couldn't choose a single character for this question, so I'll answer in general.
I imagine some of my a-spec characters starting to question their identity because of some conversation they had with an allo friend about being attracted and finding it difficult to relate. For example, back when they were teens, Jett was confused when Raen was saying something like "oh this girl is so hot" or "I cannot think straight because of that guy". Or Lorri saying that she doesn't understand why people crave sexual or romantic relationships so much when there are a lot of other wonderful things to do, when Vort was talking about his struggle to find a long-term partner.
As for the rest of my characters, it's either having feelings for a person that were unfamiliar to them before that, or just having experiences that challenge the way they viewed themselves.
8. Have they had struggles with their identity, be it due to internal or external reasons?
I want to talk about Kerstes because she came to my mind the first when trying to answer this question.
First, I want to share my headcanon on expectations and views on marriage in the Sith Empire, specifically for pureblood Sith (it's very similar to this post).
Marriage mostly serves two purposes - transaction and reproduction, and while these are a bit more loose for average citizens and military, for pureblood Sith these are very important (because they are not exactly common during the time of SWTOR era, from what I understand). So heterosexual marriage is heavily encouraged and expected from the majority of Sith (with some exceptions).
Because of these expectations Kerstes struggled with her identity. At first, she had trouble with even accepting the fact that she likes women (you know, the "oh yeah, hetero marriage is good for the population because otherwise we'd all want to marry women, right?" moment). Took her quite some time to come to terms with it, and even then she wasn't eager to share this discovery with her parents. Kerstes tried to avoid it whenever the topic of marriage came up, and when it became impossible to ignore, she came out, and, as expected, it didn't go well. Fortunately for Kerstes, soon after this she was sent to Korriban for Sith training, so that conflict became the least of her worries for the duration of Sith Warrior story.
Interesting that after the class story Kerstes had a heart-to-heart conversation with her mother about a lot of things, her identity included. Interesting because prior to her trials she favored her father (because he pretty much gave her everything she wanted, and by that spoiled her) and ignored and despised her mother most of the time. I mentioned that Kerstes starts as a spoiled brat who loves ordering people around, and as the events of Sith Warrior story go, she grows to be less bossy or rude, and more respectful to those below her status (in short. there's a lot more to her character development). And as she goes through this development, she realizes that the most of what she learns are things that her mother tried to teach her. So Kerstes starts seeing her parents in a different light, and that's why she has this heart-to-heart with mother.
In the end, her mother is more accepting of the fact that Kerstes is a lesbian and doesn't have to marry someone against her will (but she still asks for biological grandchildren lol). More importantly, Kertses is more comfortable with her identity and will have a romantic relationship.
#swtor#ask game#i know that june is over but who cares?#definitely not my brain who wasn't cooperating with me yet again#sorry this turned out to be more about kerstes' relationship with her family than the struggle with her identity#on the other hand i now have more development for kerstes#(and i may have made a cute girlfriend for her using the last available character slot in swtor)#oc:kerstes#oc:jett#oc:raen#oc:lorrena#oc:vort#the-raven-of-highever

You can actually gather a lot more from the lyrics than you'd think, if you really want to - I plan on writing more on that later.
The grammar is a lot less than you make it seem. E.g. Traviss actually specifically tells us that there is no word order. It's so meager that most people automatically default to English - but I guess we can agree on a mixed grammar instead of only Basic grammar.
I must say I am a little upset about the list of misconceptions because I don't really see the differences between what you wrote and what I wrote - so where's the misconception?
Mandoa.org contains NO fanon words in the dictionary (forum is another story). I said forum, didn't I?
The Norton Cant is not Mando'a at all. It may be a Mandalorian language, [...] Mandalorian languages were retrospectively dubbed Mando'a. So it is a part of Mando'a. Isn't it?
SWOTOR uses KT Mando'a and uses it well. I didn't play it so I wrote "Soldiers' Pidgin, probably" but please note that I specifically stated that in my opinion the whole series has to have been translated from earlier forms of any language used because it takes place three millennia prior to any films.
KOTOR predates the RepComm installments and contains no Mandalorian language. The game itself contains a weird version (that poor little girl) and, just like with Notron Cant, just because it was published before the naming of Mandalorian languages as Mando'a doesn't mean they aren't Mandalorian languages - or Mando'a. Also there are novels and comics about KotOR that contain KT Mando'a, same as SWtOR.
TCW uses KT Mando'a extremely poorly, pulling a fan sentences from a Mando'a forum and calling it Concordian. Now I didn't mention this, but how does that make it a misconception?
Rebels at least puts in an effort to use KT Mando'a, but it kinda hurts to listen to. [...] The Mandalorian show kinda uses Mando'a words here and there and tBoBF has at least one song in Mando'a. Isn't that what I said?
Trying to glean linguistic truths from sung words is a fool's errand. Take any modern song and try to analyse a language's pronunciation and phonetic inventory from it. It's not a good time. No it wasn't a good time. But it did give me a lot more that KT's attempt and I am quite proud of my results, again, I will publish them later. However, how is that a meta-misconception?
Re the Polynesian language group - inter-communication between groups descending from the same language ancestor over a couple thousand years is definitely cool and can be obvious, and I am a bit of a fan of reconstructive or historical linguistics.
It doesn't change the fact that your example shows how over millennia one language (that isn't used anymore) became a group of languages. A speaker of PPn would probably not be easily understood in this here modern world...
I'm not good with communication and may have misunderstood your post. I hope my answer (and my questions) do not come across as unfriendly.
I think we're mostly on the same page, really.
Mando'a Dialects in- and out-of-universe
Outgame (irl) there are several different versions of Mandoʻa: The Shadows of the Empire Soundtrack version (Notron Cant), the Republic Commando Soundtrack version (Jesse Harlin's text), the Old Republic version (as seen in SWtOR or KotOR), the Republic Commando Novels version (Karen Traviss' version), the Mandoa.org version (their forum members made up a lot of extra vocabulary), several different tumblr versions, and the Disney version (as in the TV-series Star Wars Rebels). They all have distinctive similarities (the Notron Cant is an exception), but unfortunately, they also all somewhat differ. Since Karen Traviss published her Mandoʻa version online, complete with a dictionary, the Mandoa.org version and most tumblr versions are based on her version. Her version in turn is vaguely based on Jesse Harlin's version-the first Mandoʻa on file, so to say. I myself see them as different dialects or development stages of the same language.
See, Karen Traviss' Mandoʻa and also most of Mandoa.org's Mandoʻa uses Basic (i.e. English) grammar with a Mandalorian vocabulary, so I call that version Soldiers' Pidgin. It's obviously (ingame) a creole language that came into existence after the Mandalorian diaspora. It is this Soldiers' Pidgin that Kal Skirata taught his children (the Nulls) and possibly also the language that the Alphas taught other, younger clones (e.g. the CC class or the ARC-troopers) as a "secret" language to hide from the Kaminoans. If it was used by the clones in such a way, the GAR should have its own dialect. The different internet versions of Mandoʻa all seem to be based on Karen Traviss' dictionary, so I see them as different dialects of the Soldiers' Pidgin. The same reasoning can be applied to Disney's Mandoʻa.
The language of Vode An, Graʻtua Cuun, Darasuum Kote, etc. on the other hand uses a grammar that differs from Basic. It is an older form of Mandoʻa, probably the Mandoʻa spoken on Mandaʻyaim before the Excision - seven-hundred years ago. It's a lot more interesting (for me, at least). I propose calling it Classic Mandoʻa. It has its own grammar; it has a similar vocabulary as Soldiers' Pidgin, but with distinct and sometimes varying pronunciations (sometimes depending on the rhyme or rhythm of the song); it has a lot of epitaphs and kennings and references and can have very flowery phrasing. It's used, in or around the time of Palpatine's Empire, predominantly in older songs and poems. An irl-equivalent could be Shakespearean English.
We can probably view the (archaic) tOR version as vaguely translated into modern Mandoʻa (Soldiers' Pidgin, probably) since there is exactly no way that the language changes so little in over 3000 years. I also propose that the Basic back then has very few similarities to the Basic that's spoken during the Skywalker Wars.
Missing is a sort of current, modern version of Classic Mandoʻa. I think that is (sadly) very realistic. A society that is so broken up by something like orbital bombardment would likely, over the centuries, develop several different creole versions and try to keep their original language as unchanged as possible, leading to exactly the combination described above.
Here are some other people's thoughts:

Video Game Questionnaire
Tagged by: @a-muirehen, thank you for the tag!
Rules: Fill in your answers below and tag some buddies!
Games
First game you ever played: Oh goodness... maybe it was Duck Hunt? Or something on the Atari like Donkey Kong? I know the first game I ever beat on my own was Secret of Monkey Island. So we’ll go with that, although it’s probably not right. Favorite game: Star Wars: The Old Republic (I mean... really) Game you’ve played through multiple times: SWTOR, Skyrim, all of the Monkey Island games, Final Fantasy 6, Xenogears, The Sims (1, 2, & 4), Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, and a bunch of other old school LucasArts adventure games Game you hated at first but now love: I’m trying to think of one. When I tend to ragequit games, I rarely pick them back up. Game you used to love but now hate: Any game that I bought for myself, my brother began to hog, and then blasted through my progress point in it and ruined the story for me. Legend of Legaia comes to mind as a fairly egregious example. Thanks bro! Your favorite game atmosphere/setting(s): SciFi or Piratical Shenanigans. Although I do love me some classic RPG fare as well Game with the best group/companion(s): SWTOR. I don’t make the rules (except when I do and I’m horribly biased) A game with your favorite ending: I really love Final Fantasy 6′s ending. It’s really stuck with me even to this day A game with the WORST ending: Battletoads. No ending can make up for the brutality of that game. Best character customization?: All entries in the Sims series
Hero and Companions
Your favorite playable character: The Jedi Knight, if it’s a customizable protagonist. I clearly play favorites and I love them so much. Non customizable... hmm... probably Terra from Final Fantasy 6 The funniest playable character: Guybrush Threepwood, hands down. Your favorite companion(s): Theron Shan (she said to the surprise of no one) Companions you could live without: I still need to finish the Sith Warrior storyline, so my opinion on this might change as I push through it, and I’m totally going to get a lot of flak for saying this but... I’m not that fond of Quinn so far? He’s just so smarmy and his whole demeanor is just... a bit like nails on the chalkboard for me. But I know he’s a lot of folks’ fave, so maybe I just need to give him more time? (for context, I just got off Balmorra there so... take that as you will.)
Relationships
Favorite game friendship(s): Kira Carsen and the Knight, Bart and Fei from Xenogears Favorite game relationship(s): Knight/Theron from SWTOR (by a lot), Cousland/Alistair from Dragon Age (I still need to finish that game). Terra/Locke from FF6 is not technically canon but I still lurve it Favorite companion banter: Look. I love me my SWTOR cast. All of them. But HK-55 and ZO-0M’s banter is pretty epic. A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Akaavi/Smuggler. It just works so well A character you wish you COULD romance: Jonas Balkar from SWTOR. I still need to play the Trooper storyline but... the more spies the merrier. Also my heart for a Sumalee romance. Plz. I love her. A minor character you wish could be a companion: Probably also Jonas. But I just want to stick him and Theron in a room together and see the chaos that results.
Fun
Shoutout to a random NPC: That one Sith outside the cantina on Odessen, who is having the grandest time provoking the NPCs around him into fist fights. A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: The original King’s Quest series. And probably Quest for Glory too. Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: Batman Arkham series. I am not very stealthy. Online gaming or solo?: Solo. I love SWTOR is because it’s a MMO that can easily be solo’d. You never really have to interact with anyone to just play through the main storyline. I think part of my issue with pushing through FFXIV is the constant forced group content. I love the ability to play with friends, but I don’t like being forced to group up with strangers. Some are awesome -- but some can be pretty vile and I just don’t have time for that Why do you play video games?: I love the characters, and the ability to explore the world they live in.
Tagging uhhhh whoever hasn’t done this yet and wants to tag in?
#thank you for the tag!#tag game#tag meme#tag thing#meme thing#this became mostly swtor answers#heh#whoops

Interview with a Fic Writer
I was tagged by @swtorpadawan (Thanks a bunch!)
I’ll tag @kunoichi-ume @tishinada @dimigex @sleepswithvillains @actualanxiousswampwitch @chivalin and anyone else who wants a tag. Feel free to slap my name on it so I can read your answers too.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
42 (I’m now unable to post anymore fics because it’ll mess up this perfect number)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
923,873
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Family is more than Blood
Heart on a Trigger (the sequel to the above)
Echo of Evil (ffxiv)
The Lost Medallion
Odessen Files
Holy crap, Primal Appetites finally got booted out of the top 5.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I absolutely do....even if it takes me a minute. I love reading the comments that come to my email, but since those usually reach me away from my computer, I tend to....forget until I log in to publish something.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
That’s a tough one, but I’ll have to go with Soul of the Bes’bev. It ends with Fynta being forced to acknowledge out loud the lengths that she’s willing to go to, to the one person that she never wants to disappoint.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
I mean...are we talking smut? Because all of those have happy endings. No? Okay then how about Shenanigans. This fic will always have a special place in my heart.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I have been known to dabble. The only one currently posted is SWTOR/Naruto crossover shared with @dimigex involving the disasters that are Fynta Wolfe, Theron Shan, Genma Shiranui, and Kakashi Hatake. The aptly named Tounge-in-Cheek
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
One person disagreed with my interpretation of Ma’at as a slave to her families’ expectations rather than a proper slave in Sithy Bunch, but I’d hardy call it hate.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Do I write smut, haha. Yes, actually, I do. Mostly aggressive given my main subject matter. It is also playful or a way to express deep emotion that must never be spoken aloud because scary. There is lots of flirting, plenty of biting, and satisfaction for all.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not in the sense that someone specifically singled it out. Just that it’s shown up on websites without my permission.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have, it’s always a fun experience. Namely, Thunder and Scars with @kunoichi-ume and Rules of Engagement with @tishinada
I also have several series where each of us writes a chapter and posts it into the same story with Ume, Dimi, and Tish as well.
13. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I’ll never get enough of these two. Art by the amazing @dingoat
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
Sadly, probably Generations of War, the continuation of Our Own that introduces Quinn/Sith Warrior and their 4, head strong and very Force sensitive daughters alongside Jorgan’s triplets. I love the story so much, but I have absolutely no idea where to take it. Waht I have published though can be found >HERE<
15. What are your writing strengths?
Action scene, without a doubt. I enjoy writing the flow of a battle or just movement in general.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
All the squishy, gushy stuff that makes of a romance. Legit, I struggle hard with feelings.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I’ve written a lot of Mando’a into my fics. It was daunting at first, then became fun when I needed to figure out how to string something together to make phrase that wasn’t pre-generated by the online dictionary.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Probably SWTOR
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet, but want to?
Gears of War. Man, I love those stories so so much, but I just...haven’t written anything for it. I reread their books once a year though.
20. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
I’m going to have to say my Meet Me on the Battlefield series. I don’t even know how many years I’ve been working on this, but I’m into the final book (that I will finished damn it.) with a few in between novellas, if you want to call them that?
#fic writer interview#thanks for the tag#it was fun going through all my old works#i got nostalgic#makes me want to write again#maybe I'll edit something#XD

Fictober Prompt 12: “You keep me safe.”
Fandom: SWTOR
Pairing: Theron Shan/Smuggler
Rating: T (just at the end)
Time: Just after conquering the first Star Fortress (Between Chapters 9 and 10 of KotFE)
A/N: Miot, the Sullustan pilot, gets his time in the sun. Since Nien Nunb, I’ve always liked Sullustans, including Miel Muwn in the vanilla Smug storyline. I also like giving characters more backstory than what we see onscreen, so Miot gets a life here -- what was he before the war?
**
Watching Miot savor his planet’s most famous product before it was taxed into oblivion was worth the unplanned visited to Eva’s ship, Theron decided. “It’s been a few years,” the Sullustan sighed into his glass. He spent nearly as much time smelling it as he did sipping it.
Eva was playing bartender, and she stooped to investigate her cavernous holdings. “If you want a bottle for yourself –”
“No, no,” Miot declined. “Maybe when all six star fortresses are gone. But for now, just one drink for one very good night.” Miot’s lips pursed underneath his facial ridge before taking another sip.
“Sounds like a plan,” Eva answered as she rose back to her feet. She too had her Sullustan gin and tonic, while Theron had a delicious Corellian brandy – not unlike the bottle Jace had given him years before, also pre-Eternal Fleet. It was a step up from his usual whiskey, something a little special. Bowdaar had no shame and demanded a glass of Crème d’Infame. It was, by no small measure, the poshest, snobbiest, tastiest thing on the ship --- and if the Wookiee wanted it, he got it.
Eva glided with ease out the galley’s door. “Let’s light up the medbay like a Life Day tree really quick, Bowie. Then we can enjoy the rest of the night.” Bowdaar followed her out, the pair of them sauntering like they owned the place.
Well, they did.
Theron listened diligently for her footfalls, then the beeps and clicks that he recalled as belonging to the Thief’s medbay. Once he heard everything turn on and the medbay door swish close, he redirected his attention back to his brandy. He let the warm, deep amber fluid warm him, from his chest to his extremities and back again. “Credit for your thoughts.”
“She’s everything yet nothing I expected from the Voidhound. Her reputation precedes her. She’s the Death That Walks – that’s what the Gormak call her on Voss.” Miot looked down toward the bottom of his still mostly fully glass. “She is that. Efficient, deadly, quiet – I can imagine her moving through the grassy hills of Voss, leaving bodies in her wake that seemed awake one moment and forever asleep the next.”
Theron’s mind revisited the minutes after he’d emerged from his prison on Rishi, the harsh afternoon light and ever-present humidity piercing his dirty, bloodied clothing, his head throbbing. He realized that the entire camp was dead. Minus the odd sniper, he was safe. In her anger, she’d killed most of the Revanites on Rishi. For him. To save him. Later, he realized she had done it for love of him.
“Her motivations are the surprise, aren’t they?” Theron partially stated this, partially asked this.
Miot agreed, “Yes. And she is much younger and more human – or humane – than I expected. I forget that she was lost for five years. I never considered she was barely more than a child when she became that creature.” Miot shook his head. “Most of my planet’s young ones are in university or beginning an apprenticeship. Yours too.”
“I was in SIS, personally.”
Miot frowned. “Not all of us were crafted for fighting, Theron. I used to be a concert musician. Navigation, piloting, composing, performing – they’re all glorified and specialized maths.” Miot shook his head. “You a spy, she the goddess of the underworld. I do not wish to ask about how both of you got there before the age of 23. You should have been children.”
Theron never dwelled on the passage of years, nor how he spent them. Except for one particular waste. “Don’t cry for me, Miot. I always thought I’d fight for the future, from the time I was old enough to remember. Whether that took the form of being a Jedi or a Republic spy, I wanted something better for all the kids that came after me.” Theron took a careful swallow of the brandy. “Now I’m here in a rebel alliance, and the motivation is the same.”
“And her?” Miot took a deep, generous mouthful of his gin and tonic.
“Stuff happens. She makes the best of it and drags everyone else along for the adventure.” Theron knew her cosmology was so much more than that, but that was something Miot could ask for himself. “Eva didn’t ask to be made into the Outlander – but she understands the importance of running a con and being an icon.”
Miot was silent, but only for a few moments. “I wonder what life would have been like without the Eternal Fleet. If Vitiate was simply the Sith emperor, and nothing more.”
Theron quaffed all of his brandy. “You and me both.” Thoughts of weekends at his place on Coruscant, dating like normal people, doing domestic, that radical idea of not worrying over her – the dreams he had shelved – ran briefly through his mind.
The medbay door hissed open. “Oh, Theron!” Eva sang out. “You want to check the readouts?”
Theron left his empty glass on the counter and walked toward her voice. He heard Miot trailing behind him, taking in the lounge as they crossed the center of the ship. Of course, as anticipated, everything read out well on the Wookiee. “Still in good shape, Bowdaar.” The computer then spat its displeasure at Eva. “Nerves – we knew that. Fatigue – we knew that. Muscle aches and pains – nothing too bad?”
Eva made a face. “I’ve never been a fan of fitness regimens. Me being a little sore after squirming around air ducts and punching a droid in the processor isn’t to be unexpected. I’m fine.” She clinked glasses with Bowdaar and they toasted each other, finishing the dregs of their drinks.
“Mission success, then. Good work.” Theron pulled out his datapad and finalized a brief after-action report. “Captain, you want to finalize tomorrow’s schedule? We left a few things since we weren’t sure when we’d be back.”
Eva nodded. “I think I have something I can defrost in here and we can work over a late dinner.”
Bowdaar nudged Miot. “Oh no. Meetings are boring. I’m starving. You want to hit up the mess?”
Miot finished his gin and tonic and set the glass down next to Eva’s. “Sure. I heard you are a pilot yourself, Bowdaar.”
Bowie crowed happily. “She taught me everything she knows – have you heard the story of how she took out an entire Revanite fleet by herself and nearly blew up this ship to do it?”
Miot replied that no, he hadn’t, and Theron heard their conversation peter out as they left the ship and made their way across the catwalk. Theron observed, dryly, “Wookiees are good wingmen.”
“Told you.” Eva grabbed her glass and Miot’s in one hand and Bowie’s empty wine glass with the other and walked them back to the galley, Theron close behind her. “Want another?”
“Yeah. But do you want dinner and dessert in that order?” As Eva was pouring his drink for him, Theron sidled up behind her to wrap his arms around her waist.
“Are you actually not prioritizing work?” Eva pushed the stopper into the brandy bottle and turned to face him.
Theron leaned into her slightly, pressing her against the galley counter. “I can probably figure the schedule out on my own, but I’d like your input, if you’re still interested in giving it. And I think you should be comfortable before heading back to work after an already busy evening.”
Eva hummed with some amusement. “I think tonight wasn’t too bad in terms of contact and exertion on my part. I think you were more stressed than I was.”
He nodded, a slightly teasing grin on his face. “I was. Been awhile since I walked you through an op.”
“You didn’t seem too rusty,” she reassured him, her palms coming to rest on his chest and sliding up toward his shoulders.
“Watching your telemetry... it was one thing when it was just intel collection and you stealthed through the whole thing. Combat - watching your vitals, knowing how many of them were coming....” His arms were around her, and he didn’t care that she felt a slight shudder on his part. “Even with Bowdaar around, I’m pretty sure my heart rate was higher than yours during some of your more daring activities.”
“You keep me safe, just like you did when I was running ops for you against the Revanites.” Then she grinned -- that awful, wonderful, mischievous, devilish grin... “So, think your body can handle any more cardio?”
His hands told her yes.

Ch. 31: Distorted
Title: Distorted Fandom: SWTOR/Star Wars The Old Republic Characters: Zandromeda Kenobi (Republic Trooper) Word Count: 1,568 words Synopsis: Zandi faces off with her most difficult opponent yet, only the battlefield isn't one she is used to, not grounded in physical reality. Warnings: This is the 31st chapter and pretty much in the endgame of the Wraiths of the Past fic for my Trooper. If you wish to be unspoiled and read the other 30 chapters, the fic is located here on Ao3
under a cut for length!
Everything was…distorted. Weirdly distorted. Zandi recognized the cityscape of Coruscant…her home. Her real home. The Coruscant sunset with amber and golden hues falling in soft painted strokes over the buildings. But it wasn’t her home…It wasn’t actually Coruscant. Not really. She could feel it as much as see it. There were too many bits of Nar Shaddaa-esque bits littering the area around her. Strangely placed holos, signs, and even architecture in the same bold and gaudy colors of the Smuggler’s Moon. It was as if someone had taken both planets and very meticulously blended them together. Turning around, however, the difference became utterly stark. The Senate Plaza ended with a dramatic flair as the Nar Shaddaa Promenade began. Complete with the ostentatious Golden Statues of a Hutt. She’d long forgotten the name but… it was definitely something she recalled from her early childhood on Nar Shaddaa. Still, the statue was so utterly and ridiculously out of place in the otherwise well-blended cityscape that Zandi finally frowned. The confusion she was feeling finally showing. “What the…” She murmured. “Do you not recognize your own mind?” Came the deep, gravelly voice of The Terentatek. Zandi’s eyes darted about, searching every shadow as she whirled around. There was no sign of the large cyborg…save his low voice. “What is this?” Zandi demanded, fed up with whatever game this man was trying to play. She scanned the area around her, searching for him. “Don’t ask me, Zandomeda,” He replied, sounding amused by her confusion. “Only you can really know the answer to that. This is your mind, after all.” Zandi had to temper the panic that was trying to rise, induced by her state of confusion, uncertainty as well as the fact that she could hear this bastard but not see him. Her frown deepened as his words echoed about… Your mind… An image, distorted just like that of their surroundings took shape in front of her. It was strange and…rather unsettling to see the very memory she was recalling actually appear and play out before her. It even winked out of existence before the cables that were meant to connect to her cybernetic implants actually reached her. Unsettling and…terrifying as the pieces continued to click into place for her. “What the kriff did you do?” Zandi nearly shouted, glaring at everything she glanced at. “Stop hiding and show yourself!” Her anger laced through her words as it surged through her causing the sky and the sunset to shift in response to her emotions. Dark, heavy clouds rolled through the sky at a rapid pace on a low rumble of thunder. Streaks of lightning could be seen flashing in the distance. Her attention, however, was on the dark towering figure rather than the way the cityscape was responding to her. The Terentatek had stepped out of the shadows from behind the large Hutt statue and into her view. The smile he was giving her was one of malicious intent clearly born of whatever insanity it was that plagued him. The twisted metal and cybernetic shifted to pull at the skin hidden. A grotesque smile… There was no hint of the father she once knew. He was worse. Zandromeda couldn’t really say she had good memories of him. Her mother had left him when Zandi had been very young. What she did remember was…not this man. Not this level of monster. “Come now, you are smart enough to figure out what we need to do,” The Terentatek said, chiding her as if he was expecting better. “We must remind you just who you are, where you come from…And it is not Coruscant…” “Oh, I know who I am,” Zandi said, her voice level but cold as her eyes narrowed. “Forcibly brainwashing me to suddenly calling you dear ol’ dad and going on your crazy picnics sure as hell isn’t going to change a damn thing.” His smile vanished, leaving cold, icy anger in its place. “Choosing the hardest path isn’t always the wisest course of action, Zandromeda,” He warned. “Must run in the family,” She sneered. “You have-“ “Get out of my head and kriff off!” There was a feeling of
unbridled rage that rolled through the sudden rush of air she felt. It wasn’t her rage…She blinked and suddenly found him merely a few inches in front of her, towering over. He reached out and before she could react, pull away, his hand wrapped around her neck and lifted. “You will not speak to your father in such a disrespectful tone!” The Terentatek snarled, his rage barely contained in his voice. Her hands gripped his wrist for leverage and an attempt to get him to release her. His grip tightened just enough to make it difficult to breathe but not completely cutting her oxygen off. “Discipline will go a long way with you.” Despite trying to drag in more air than he was allowing her, Zandi narrowed her ice-cold glare on him, defiance sparkling like flames in the emerald depths just as more lightning flashed in the sky. “You’re not…my father…” She snarled right back, though it was hoarse. The Terentatek roared in his rage and with strength, she hadn’t expected he bodily threw her into the duracrete wall of a nearby building. The force behind the throw and her own impact was such the wall gave way. Pain exploded over her back and shoulders, making her see stars. Tumbling through the ruined wall and landing with a hard thunk on solid ground didn’t do much to stave off the dazed feeling. Moving on ingrained instinct, she pulled herself backward, trying to shake her head clear. She needed to move, and fast. She needed to get a weapon, find suitable cover, or simply a damn good place to hide so she could figure out some way to get him out of her head. Not to mention some way for her to wake up. Heavy booted footsteps sounded from beyond the ruined wall, snapping her attention from her thoughts. A cruel, angry laugh sounded, rumbling along with the thunder snapping in the sky. “Foolish,” The Terentatek said. “I can hear your thoughts, Zandromeda. Your mind is an open book to me now.” She rolled away, instead of saying anything. Spying a doorway, she hauled herself to her feet and moved towards it, stumbling slightly. If he could hear her then anything she planned would be pretty much on broadcast. Just like now. Of course, she didn’t really trust anything he said but it wouldn’t surprise her. Pushing the door open, she entered the room that looked like a mix of a Nar Shaddaa Cantina and General Garza’s office. Ignoring the weird melded room, she pushed forward, looking for another door. How in the Force was she going to do anything if this man was- That was it. They were in her mind. Not his. She wasn’t sure what she could really do but this wasn’t a physical battlefield…It was mental. Despite her current situation and the way she was moving through doors of whatever bizarrely melded building she was in, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the use of the word mental. It was both literal and well… this whole situation was… Shut up and move, Zandi, she told herself. He was moving, his footsteps and the whirring, clicking, and such from his mostly cybernetic limbs sounded almost too loud than what should have been normal. Even the crash that sounded, was much too loud. She guessed he was forcing his way through the walls and doors between them. Fear lanced through her as she pushed through more doors, even climbing out of a window and back onto a random side street she could barely recognize. The lighting of everything, even the darkened stormy sky took on a tinge of violet. The hue shifting back and forth in time with her own heartbeat. Not that she noticed this, just like the weather. She was much too focused on getting the kriff away from the man that haunted her…quite literally. The fear danced along her spine as she took off down the side street, then taking the first turn she could see. She’d faced down the worst the war had thrown at her, she commanded the most elite squad in the Republic… She’d survived battle after battle, from imperial grunts to Sith Lords… But this was not like anything she’d ever faced before. This was all in her head. In some twisted attempt
to “take back” what was “his”… Pain erupted around and from her implants, causing her to wince and nearly stumble into a wall. The pain was brief but it was enough it sent her vision blurring for a moment. Taking a very quick moment to pause in her running, she took a deep breath. The Terentatek was not close enough to have touched her but…she wasn’t sure what he was capable of in a…mindscape or whatever the kriff this was supposed to be called. His footsteps were farther away…She continued running again, taking any direction that took her away from him. She had no idea how she would fight him… Hells, she had no idea how she would survive this. Zandi needed help… And she couldn’t even scream out for it.

Fic tag meme
Guess who got tagged again? And guess who by? *eyes @norroendyrd* (It’s ok friendo I enjoy it :D) So... I’m meant to tag things for a fic series I’m currently working on, but the only series I currently have as an active WIP is my ongoing Theron/Knight series for SWTOR, and having been tagged by a mostly Dragon Age/TES blog I feel like I should do this for one of those fandoms...
You know what, I’ll share lines from a fic series from each fandom. Because why not. So I’m answering this for my SWTOR series ‘It Feels Like Light’ and for my unnamed sequence of DA fics focused on Meraad Adaar. I’m not actively writing the latter right now, but maybe this’ll help me get back into it. Here goes:
The first line of the work:
The attack is planned, the troops prepared. (From Five Times.)
Dalton Hawke can’t decide whether it’s a beautiful morning or not. (From Unlearning Fear, in which my mage Hawke helps Meraad stop fearing her magic.)
The first line of your current chapter (or if it’s a one-shot, the first line of the tenth paragraph):
Kira throws open the door to her former master’s room without bothering to knock. (From a WIP under the working title of A Rumour, which involves Zeth’s best friend Kira trying to help him do something about his mountain-sized crush.)
Helping is harder, since Cole became human. (From a WIP I’ll probably call Bluebell and which involves... Meraad’s best friend Cole trying to help her and Blackwall do something about their mountain-sized crushes. Hey, I love this fic trope, don’t judge me.)
The last line you wrote:
There’s a short silence on the other end of the line, followed by a series of splutters, followed by a yelp of ‘Kira!’ (From A Rumour.)
She has woven a pair of crocuses into her braid, one deep purple, one vivid saffron yellow. (From Bluebell.)
A line for a chapter/part you haven’t written yet:
‘Hey – remember all those years ago, when I told you that crazy rumour about Master Satele, and you were convinced Theron didn’t even exist?’ (From A Rumour.)
Cole stops, his hand half-raised, and realises – I have to do this like a person would, with words, words that will be rest and remain and be remembered. (From Bluebell.)
I’mma tag @carterashofficial if she doesn’t mind, since she’s the only person I know right now who’s definitely got an ongoing long work!

A list, top is most likely, bottom is would not, of how likely your ocs would fistfight god.
Any special interests that would seem unusual to the common person?
Favorite food, everyone has one.
Name one traumatic event, or like, the most traumatizing one, even if its just a spoon falling on ur oc's face.
Thank you! I've always wanted to do one of these!
I am not sure if I can properly sort them according to their willingness to fight god so I included their reasons for doing so.
These are not all of them but i couldn’t keep this in my inbox any longer. Might reblog with the rest
Tybalt (Pathfinder)
he is like 17, extremely chaotic and full of hubris. Of cause he would try to fistfight god
magic tricks (not necessarily actual magic but Prestidigitation is one of his favorite actual-magic ones). He mostly uses them for pranks
anything with processed sugar. You don’t get that in a druid circle..
the mountains are not merciful. When he was 6 he ran away from his circle farther than before and got lost. The Circle managed to find him 2 days later he was very cold and hungry. He learned to respect the mountains after that
Shahkah (Pathfinder)
I thing fistfighting god would be far from her since she serves a god as a cleric but Urgathoa is slowly getting there if her minions keep killing her friends
Has a keen interest in the ancient history of osirion and languages despite having a hard time learning it.
Sugared dates on a calm evening with friends
Seeing her companions die. Leaving that house with her friend covering their escape. He got resurrected but that made the thing no less traumatizing (not to mention the friends that stayed dead). When she was helping out at her fathers hospital when she was a child she had wandered where she was not supposed to. In the ward for the most ...extreme cases she walked into the room of a dying man. He was under a lot of pain. It took her parents hours to find her afterwards. It set her on the path of a healer more than her fathers profession ever could. And she did step into their footsteps becoming an adventurer like they had been, despite using magic to heal rather than just surgeons tools and medicine.
Runa (Pathfinder)
She would punch any deity to show how much stronger mammoth spirit is
looks for goodnight stories for her brother
that steak the tiny ulfen alchemist made that day when he challenged the previously undefeated in duel princess of a rival clan to a cooking duel. When you are a barbarian warrior you don’t get that food every day
when she, her brother and some other kids were kidnapped by a witch and experimented on. She nearly froze to death and serveral children (possibly including her brother I haven’t decided yet) died. She hate witches now
Sheza (Pathfinder)
she is a priestess, but she would definitively spar verbally with a god given the chance
she is interested in engineering (she is a storyteller, priestess and diplomat. Engineering is not a typical interest for that background)
the food served at high class galas and parties she would answer. Its actually a traditional kasathan baked good. Reminds her of the fleet
She messed up an negotiation (think hostage situation) and got someone killed
Mistwalker (Elder Scrolls, Morrowind) tw: slavery
She knows cruelly beyond the lives of most. She deeply respects the hist but all other gods don't have that luxury. She wont seek them out but if they get in her way she will fight them
she likes to learn how to cook, just for herself
Baked ash potato made with a secret spice blend
before she was mistwalker she was a slave on a farm in morrowind. Another slave, an old khajit looked out for her and snuck her food. He took the blame for a mistake she did (and, as she later realized, something he did to allow her later escape) and was beaten to death. She escaped soon after. In blackmarsh she became mistwalker and with the guidance of the hist she came back to Vvardenfell to wreak judgment
Lee'na (Elder Scrolls, Oblivion)
She would fistfight aedra and daedra to gain their knowledge. In fact she did fistfight Jyggalag and took his place as sheogorath, daedric prince of madness
her interest in alchemy is not that unusual but she is rater interested in the weather and the way storms form
sweetrolls
the caravan getting attacked, the portal incident that separated her from her brother and adoptive mother
sir Blade (Elder Scrolls, Oblivion)
no
he likes romantic poems (he is aro)
freshly baked bread, good cheese and a bottle of Surilie Brothers Wine
When his caravan was attacked by bandits. The trauma was so strong he suffers from temporary amnesia sometimes
Commander Nahrillia (Guild Wars)
She has/helped killed a god and multiple stronger than gods beings
songs from all corners of the world
apples. Apples so quiet, you might say they're whispering…. :(
to be honest her life is one traumatic experience after the other
Trip (Transformers, crew of the starseeker)
he would try and get his ass kicked
new paintjobs. Brighter colors longer lifetime… too bad they are light-years from his usual supplier
Energon with an iron-copper taste
found some messed up stuff in a decepticon research facility. Defected from the autobots and went neutral to get as far as possible away from that
Flyaway (Transformers, crew of the starseeker)
he would, could and should kick primus ass. He deserves it.
He bakes
the energon treats he hides in the pilot console
he was a decepticon pilot in the early days. doesn't talks about it.
Puncture (Transformers, crew of the starseeker)
why bother punching primus when she is defiling his work every day?
Collects starmaps. According to the crew she has a… Fixation on fuel-pump systems, but that is not unusual since she’s a medic and also a vampire
the innermost of a prime, taken alive. Very, very rare good
Like most vampires hers has to do with relationship drama
Ganii Tal'orar (SWTOR)
yes. Imagine the glory! No better prey.
zoology. Not (just) to hunt better but because of her respect for the great beasts
spicy steak
She was a streetkid in nar shadaa. One day she and her girlfriend were attacked by people in dark cloaks. She was separated from her girlfriend (Kyrass. They did everything together. To be without her is to be without armor). She managed to hide and when the fight was over she looked everywhere for Kyrass. When morning came she went to the skyport to search for information, narrowly missing Kyrass looking for her. She resolved to become a great warrior and saw that path as bounty hunter. She joined the great hunt in the hope to learn from the greatest warriors in the galaxy -The mandalorians
Kyrass Zaada (SWTOR)
you know the “if god exist its our moral obligation to kill him” quote? Thats Kyrass
geology
fresh batha meat with spices
until the jedi found her she was a streetkid in nar shadaa. One day stange people in black robes tried to take her and a few others. In the scuffle she lost sight of her girlfriend and partner in crime (ganii. They did everything together. To be without her is to be without weapons) and was nearly taken when jedi arrived. She was hurt so she was taken to a hospital and when she went back to look for Ganii, she was gone. Assuming she was taken Kyrass went with the jedi, who promised her and the other force sensitive kids to be trained in the force, to be able to protect others from what she now knows as sith
Nittu Startrail (SWTOR)
same as kyrass except for her gods, which have always been on her peoples side. She would be honored by a challenge of wits against the skywalker however
woodcarving. Her japor snippets are carved intricate
Huttcake and tsai
She grew up in slavery and survived the detonation of her transmitter.
Zexuun Kha (SWTOR)
if it gave him power? Yes. But he wouldnt use his fists.
Star constellations, from all kinds of planets. He doesn't indulge in this interest often because he considers it frivolous
the best sushi on alderan. He was very helpful to the empires war effort because of this
He grew up in slavery and turned out exactly opposite from Nittu. Take your pick from his experiences
This really made me think! Very Helpful! Especially the interest thing. I had to think of something beyond the usual description (a hunters hobby is tracking, but thats expected for him. Ineed something else) which added depht to the characters. Thank you!

For the OC ask meme: #28, #29, #40. And thanks for the ask to me!
I didn’t actually reblog the ask meme myself but I’m also 100% down to answer asks all the time so!
28. Your most dangerous OC?
out of my swtor ocs alone, that’s… definitely rkorya, who in my loose power rankings definitely has the most to throw around and has built herself up to be devastating and lethal
outside of that, it’s a lot murkier, but I imagine my paladin, rhinoe, will eventually be pretty ridiculous - she’s prophesied to bring ruin to a Lot of Things one day
29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?
netethei! she tries not to tell anyone what she’s doing ever, and she’d definitely enjoy poking around just for curiosity’s sake. even if there’s nothing particularly of worth, at least now she knows that’s the case
she’s not superstitious and difficult to frighten so that helps, of course
40. Any fond memories linked to your characters? Feel free to share!
time to bring up rkorya again tbh but like… idk I first made her as this offhand try at a tanking class to play with friends, but by the time I actually got really into swtor I was mostly playing solo and recovering from… a lot of bullshit and past experiences that made me very insecure about my writing, my characters and even just the things I could explore or enjoy
and rkorya became a power fantasy and then a character I could use to just… slowly gain back that pride and faith in what I was doing, and to be passionate about things without being guilty or expecting criticism, and just the act of playing through the game with her and developing her personality and backstory has been so rewarding! I’ve written so much and been able to get back into writing things for fun bc of her so just… she’s always going to be v important to me as a result, for helping me heal and try to move forward from all of that mess
#oc asks#rkorya#netethei#fond memories as in me reminiscing on my starting to write fic of her a year ago#aliyamirat#answered

Companion-Romance Issues: A Quick Review of my last three SWTOR Class Playthroughs
So - playing Deviah – my Light Side Sith Warrior. I romanced Malavai Quinn. I admit, it was a cuter romance than I was expecting. But I had a plan going in. I would dump Quinn when he turned traitor, making a clean break. (Also freeing up Deviah to pursue. Lana.) Unfortunately, my Influence level with Quinn was not sufficiently high when his Traitor plan finally activated. So although Devi and Quinn had kissed, they weren’t in the “relationship” zone yet. So Quinn betrays me, but the dialogue SEEMS to reflect their relationship, and it breaking. Then we go back to the ship, and I talk to Quinn, and suddenly he’s pushing for a formal relationship! Naturally, I turned him down. The kicker was he acted all surprised and hurt when I ended things, even though he had tried to kill me not FIVE MINUTES BEFORE.
Just …. Ugh.
Playing Bas’rish – my neutral Smuggler – my plan was to flirt and briefly romance Corso, but then to quickly end things when it became clear he was not into ‘casual’. (Bas’rish had a number of casual ‘attachments’ throughout the story.) Of course, I took the wrong dialogue option at some point, and it LOCKED IN the Corso romance. Even though I specifically told him I wasn’t in love with him, and I specifically told him I wouldn’t marry him, the game still believed he was my guy. After the class story, I got all three love letters.
So lame.
Finally, Brev’por – my (mostly) Light Side Trooper. The plan was for him to wind up with Elara Dorne, though not before his casual relationship with Jaxo had run its course. Brev tossed a playful flirt at Elara on Taris before she became a companion. She gave him a cool shutdown. Okay, no problem. (Jorgen was practically laughing at him.) Elara joins the crew, becoming the go-to companion. He’s nice to her throughout, but I avoided the Flirt options early on. (One involved Elara ordering supplies; in the other she says “May I speak to you for a moment?” and you’re supposed to answer with a “I always have time for you, Elara.”) Honestly, I found both options a little off-putting. The problem is, by declining them, I was locked out of later Flirt options, ones that were much better and organic. Instead, i wound up friend-zoned.
I would pull my hair out. But Brev is a Twilek, and Twi’leks don’t have hair.
So…. What plan should I screw up next? 😣 😣 😣

SWTOR Ask #2/19/20 (although I already know the answer muhahaha) and 26 :)
2. What is your favorite class and why?
I really love playing a Sith Warrior. I like the skills, I like her voice and I like the story. Because of a certain incident and my own experiences as one and the emotional roller coaster I went through, the whole class is etched into my soul. I always play light side too, so here is this little light in the darkness changing it from within. I always liked that.
19. Where can other players most commonly find you in game?
Mostly I am at my Tatooine SH sorting gear, buying things from the GTN I just NEED and having a mental breakdown at the mess my bays are. My icon/ Arcann person hangs out at her Coruscant SH with Arcann. When I am out and about I am mostly doing heroics, speed running fp’s (got to get those ranks up) and trying to get Arcann stuck places for screenshots.
20.What do you most often do while playing?
When not doing the above, (ie daydreaming about Arcann as I get him stuck places so I can get close to him, where is my Arcann companion deco Bioware?) I am a die hard quest person. I love all the stories and before the leveling got crazy fast I used to do all the missions on each planet just to see what all of them were like. I only recently started getting into the fps but I am enjoying them too.
26. Who is/are your favorite non-companion NPC(s)?
This is hard because I love so many of them. Jonas Balkar because, well, its Jonas Balkar. Ava Jaxo, (dammit Bioware I should have known after her you would pull the Kotet thing!) She was just so fun. Also I really liked Valkorion, I had such high hopes for him after Kotfe but he sadly became a slap dash evil entity in Kotet. Can I choose an animal npc? I really love the thrantas and would love a thranta mount, they are just so peaceful.
Thanks for asking! :-)

Swtor OC ask meme, Phena Aodhán. 12 13 19
12. Be honest, how many outfit tabs do they have?
Currently just one, actually, because I just love the outfit I’ve had her in for quite a while so I’m sticking with that. I am kind of thinking about trying to make a casual, not-currently-killing-anyone outfit for her.
13. Let’s see those outfits!
I’m just gonna put some older ones in here as well:
So the first two are the really old ones, I mostly went with skirts back in the day because most of the pants just made her legs look really fcking skinny and I didn’t like that. She basically started wearing the stupid helmet when she became the Emperor’s Wrath.
This is the first version of the outfit she still has - she started to wear this around SoR, back then still with the hood because why should people get a good glance at her face.
For the beginning of Kotfe I went with the standard outfit for a while because I was thinking that Zakuul would have probably taken away her armor (because a lot of spiky things and also the connection to her cybernetics) before they imprisoned her. She only gets her usual armor back when the Fury is found because she basically had a second set stored there.
Which would be this, no hood anymore but additional claws because let’s be honest, the more the better.
19. Who is their rival?
That is...a question I actually have to think about. Back at the Academy that was easy to answer, but now, as in during kotfe/kotet it’s not that easy anymore because for her a lot has changed. I could say Vitiate because he seems to be so determined to fuck her over. She doesn’t / didn’t see Vaylin as a rival per se, more as yet another case of Vitiate ruining everything he can(and I am totally gonna ignore canon and keep her alive somehow).
The closest to a rival might actually be Acina. Not that Phena has ANY ambition to become empress herself (like, at all), but Acina is the one responsible for the Empire and Phena feels kind of responsible for her home as well, so that might take a moment to figure out. Though, if she could, she would just hand over the responsibility for the Allience and the throne to someone else and return to being the Empire’s Wrath.

ELEVEN Questions
I was tagged by the awesome @mjaydesw
1. What are your thoughts on Coffee?
Coffee is my one true love. We are each other’s OTP. I have like, four coffee machines in my house right now (a normal drip maker, a Senseo, Starbucks Verismo, and my latest love, a Nespresso). It pairs well with all sorts of foods (breakfast, baked goods, cheeses), and I usually have a mug next to me when writing. Also, Guatemala Antigua is the best roast, I don’t care what anyone says.
2. What is your first fandom? I plead the fifth, on embarrassment alone even if like no one will recognize the name as it’s pretty obscure. (@chocotaur you can out me if you feel like it) We’ll go with Highlander the Series, since I was a wee baby fan during that too. A lot of people will probably remember me from Stargate Atlantis fandom, though.
3. What are the top 3 places you want to visit most? Australia, so I can visit one of my besties on her home turf, see the continent at large, and maybe fistbump @chocotaur in person if our paths cross. I’ve also wanted to visit Rapa Nui because of all of the history associated with it. And finally Hovsgol Province in Mongolia, because I’d really like to see/experience the culture there.
4. Are you a Dog person? Or a Cat person? Or both? Or niether? Both! I miss having cats, because they have their own unique way of expressing affection and can be awesome and hilarious pets. But I can’t have any right now because I can’t convince this little monster that she shouldn’t try to eat them:
5. Who is your favorite superhero from the Marvel universe? Right now it’s The Falcon, because Sam is an awesome friend, and one of the best parts out of Captain America: Winter Soldier and I totally wasn’t expecting him. I’m mostly into Marvel from the MCU, so I’m learning the lore from the movies (and Netflix when I remember that TV shows still exist.) After CA: Civil War, I desperately want a road trip movie between the three Caps, where Bucky and Sam snark in the back seat while Steve threatens to turn this car around.
6. Who is your favorite superhero form the DC universe? There are so many I love! But if I had to pick a favorite, I think it would be Superboy/Kon-El/Connor Kent. I discovered him on the original Young Justice comic line and fell in love with his ridiculous self (this is before he became an angst bunny, which I also love). When they killed him off back in the 2000s was basically when I stopped reading comics. I know they eventually brought him back, but they’d already driven me off by me not being able to read about him for years. (Then they ruined him in the New 52 so thoroughly they don’t even want to bring him back in whatever they’re calling the latest incarnation of the timeline.) If they ever bring him back, I might consider catching back up on the whole line, but that’s a maybe... I’m just not a fan of Chris Kent and Damian Wayne as Superboy and Robin. (Kon and Tim forever!)
7. Which do you prefer, typing or writing with pen and paper? Definitely typing. I can’t write with a pen fast enough to keep up with my brain, but my fingers can at least type fast enough where I don’t get frustrated with the slow progress and lose my train of thought.
8. Favorite Fandom? The one I’m in! Which right now is Star Wars/The Old Republic. Love me some SWTOR!
9. Do you prefer reading long fics? or Short fics? or one shots? It depends on my mood, as they all have their place! Sometimes I only have time for shorts and one shots. But I think I really enjoy getting into a nice, long plotty fic that weaves character development in with the action. When it all wraps up at the end, you just feel so satisfied, like you’ve taken a long journey.
10. Do you prefer plot? or Just plain Fluff? Some days I just need the fluff, because it’s a great pick me up. But fluff intermingled with plot (or plotty fluff) is the best!
11. Do you like smut? or do you prefer to avoid it when it comes to fics? I used to like to pretend that it wasn’t there, but no, I always secretly read it but never commented because I had no idea what the appropriate response is beyond “this was good!”. I think it’s one of the hardest things to write, so I have massive respect for everyone who does it well.
Let’s see, for my 11 Questions...
What fandom is your biggest creative muse right now?
Who’s your OTP at the moment?
What’s your favorite non-fannish hobby?
Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Cinematic Universe? (Or neither?)
Are you reading anything in particular right now that you’re just like “ZOMGAMAZING”?
Let’s just get the contentious question out of the way... console gaming or PC gaming?
Favorite song/artist right now?
Where do you find inspiration?
What is the cutest animal ever?
What’s your comfort food?
Favorite/most underrated cliche?
I’ll tag a few of you guys, but if you don’t feel like doing it, no worries! (if anyone not tagged wants to answer, please feel free to jump in!): @chocotaur @trystings @laylainalaska @gnine2 @xparrot @juniperstreet
