Silly au idea for x men (loosely based on Evo)

What if the government, in a bid for a healthier population added something to milk but it was kinda done quietly. Like how they add floride to city water some places to help with dental health. But this addictive has the side effects of like doubling a mutants power or giving them a further mutation. And forth people who's mutation has not come out it forces it out.

So like Remy and Henri are in guild mission and suddenly they both are draling with new powers. Remy thought he had stuff under control and now he doesn't. Jean Luc freaks out and then finds out all about mutants and the stuff going down in New York . He then decides those two factoruons suck and he's making his own for his kids to be able to interact with other mutants. So now it's the x men kids, the brotherhood, and the guild.

YES!!!! I love it, Hermes! Jean Luc decides d*mn it, scr*w it, his sons are getting the best team he can manage, that isn't full of nutjobs and irresponsible adults! He will make a safe team, one that can also team important life skills outside of powers, and offer a home to those less fortunate but who don't want to start a war with the government or other mutants or some space aliens or Apocalypse thing!

It’s kind of (???) like a masterpost of this AU, but like badly structured and I haven’t made good reference sheets just some color palettes next to some ok drawings I suppose (I am very much going to redraw them just not soon maybe idk) SO UH HERE ROLES AND WHY I PICKED THEM

Odysseus - Joel

Notes - Idk he was the only one I could safely use because he ACTUALLY HAS A WIFE. Also it’s fun to be different. Though using him as Zeus is also like really fitting. Oh well. You get all the trauma Joel.

Penelope - Lizzie

Notes - I’m sorry Lizzie you’re cool and badass but unfortunately you’re also Joel’s wife and Pen is Ody’s wife. I do like to dream you videotape him killing all the sutiors though.

Telemachus - Hermes 

Notes - I literally have no idea who this guy is except he’s vaguely bird-like from fandom perception and also Joel’s son. But he fits the son role pretty well from what I see. (He’s in Empires btw)

Eurylochus - Martyn

Notes - Bro needs more main roles- Like he’s the least popular Life Series winner (which isn’t a low bar all of them are like super popular) but honestly I made Ren Polities and was like “Welp the only only valid option for Eurylochus is Martyn” and rolled with it.

Polities - Ren

Notes - Ren is a happy-go-lucky joyous boy and I think more people need to recognize that like bro is walking through life confused af but dam happy about it I’ll tell you. Everyone is like “Red King angst angst angst” like he has no idea what’s going on at all times.

Polyphemus - Bdubs

Bdubs is the only viable option for Polyphemus like animal-obsessed and murderous? Who else? Also he has a giant horse demon.

Aeolus - Skizz

Notes - He seems the popular choice, and his goofy demeanor and angelic fandom traits really show why. I have a really vivid mental image of his giant angelic form flapping its wings and pushing the ships with giant gusts of wind. It’s my second favorite moment in all of this.

Circe - Gem

Notes - Actually, I can’t take credit for this one, I saw someone with a different EPIC AU who put her as Circe and using skulk instead of seduction in There Are Other Ways and I was like “GENIUS” and stole it. She fits pretty well.

Hermes - Scar

No other viable option. Especially the fandom meme of Hermes selling drugs to Odysseus, seems like something Scar would do. Also the fun beat and Hermes’s other song “Dangerous” is definitely his vibe like seriously.

Tiresias - Grian

Notes - I have so much unnecessary angsty lore that has nothing to do with actual Tiresias like he was barely twenty when he died but grew up in the underworld, he was forced into being a preist to the Secret Keeper (watcher robes and stuff) and is familiar with a lot of the gods because he’s a prophet. I also have a bunch of desert duo shit (obviously). 

Siren - BigB

Notes - Honestly an arbitrary choice, but my main inspiration was Double Life and how he “pretended” to be Grian’s soulmate. Like, this is a completely different situation but like same concept. Ha you fuck up big time B.

Scylla - Pearl

Notes - Look the giant serpent heads are Pearl’s wolf pack Joel’s head is illuminated but the blood moon reflected in the water before they dock and walk through a dark cave and like his face is bathed in the blood of the moon and in the end the blood of his comrades THE SYMBOLISM. The “drown in your sorrow and tears” LIKE DOUBLE LIFE YALL I CANT.

Antinous - idk honestly

Notes - HE’S EVIL AND A JERK IDK

Calypso - Iskall

Notes - Yoooo our one of our only non-lifers- I guess he doesn’t really count for a Life Series AU but like he was too perfect Calypso being like “Noooo why are you breaking up with me” and Odysseus being like “WE WERE NEVER TOGETHER” real Iskall and Joel coded relationship.

Zeus - The Secret Keeper 

Notes - The only problem with this one is Thunder Bringer because he seems a lot more like just a guy there (an all powerful jerk guy but that’s besides the point) and less like an omnipotent divine deity which is what I was going for with the Secret Keeper in the Horse and the Infant and God Games.

Athena - Cleo

Notes - I saw her sometimes depicted with snake hair like Medusa and ya know Athena turned Medusa into a gorgon so I thought “Hey what if Cleo was Athena and her hair turned into snakes when she’s angry” like in My Goodbye and the “hold your tongue” scene in God Games. I gave her dreads so it’s a smoother transition.

Poseidon - Etho

Notes - Another arbitrary choice! I must blame this on my Ethubs brain like this AU is actually mostly based on Last Life (or at least the relationships) so like red life Bdubs being almost killed by Joel would really piss him off. But also in Limited Life Bdubs is technically Etho’s son so you could take it as that. (Sorry Boat Boys shippers I actually really considered putting him as Calypso)

Apollo - Jimmy

Notes - Now we’re getting into the really arbitrary choices. This was mostly a color match, and Jimmy seems like the kind of guy to own a bunch of cows and throw a hissy fit when one of them is killed. 

Hephaestus - Tango

Notes - Actually, I had Tango for Hephaestus in my head for a while. Idk he just has inventor vibes that would very obviously be angry at Joel’s basically sacrifice of his entire crew.

Aphrodite - Scott

Notes - This was mostly an excuse so I could put Scott in like flowy beautiful clothing also he seems like the kind of guy to be the god of love like bro is very gay.

Ares - Impluse

Notes - I… have no good reasoning for this. Impulse in my head is actually one of the chillest of all the Lifers but he seems like he could get very scary if he was ever actually angry.

Hera - Mumbo

Notes - And here we are, the winner of all the arbitrary choices I made for this AU. Man. Idk he had that one hipster outfit and Hera gives off very 80’s hipster vibes. Maybe that’s what he’ll wear. Huh. This only came to mind like now

I’m gonna talk about my reincarnation AU first bc 

Okay so!!!!!! The gods are still around in modern times (it’s current 20’s era to make my life easier lol) but aren’t as worshipped as much so most actually take on human disguises for fun/past time/cure boredom and take on a different name in human disguise and!!!!! Athena takes on a human disguise (along with Hermes, he’s her roommate, he’s also not coping with losing his great grandson :( ) hoping to deal with the grief of losing the Ithaca family even YEARS later and???? She….somehow ends up adopting the reincarnation of odyessus! He obviously doesn’t have his memories yet but he will!!!! (Look, I enjoy Ody and Athena friendship but I’m actually a mom!athena truther no matter how ooc that may be lol)

Athena and Hermes spend a good chuck of the AU thinking the similarities they see in reincarnated!Odysseus is just their grief talking until ody turns 13! In the AU the way a reincarnated person gets their memories back is that they get REAAAALLY sick and have the WORST fever induced nightmare (regaining their memories) and that happens to odysseus when he turned 13! It was not fun :( he called out for Athena like he did in love in Paradise when he woke up

Penelope, polites, Eurylochus and the 600 crew members are also reincarnated (so is Telemachus once he’s born!) how did Ody befriend 600 children you may ask? Idk discord or something this is modern times lol

Okay so since those infection au’s are spreading online (pun intended), I’ve been thinking of an au for PJO, specifically post-TOA. Uh idk how dark this will get so read at your discretion.

So basically it’s after Tower of Nero events, Apollo is a god once more, god of disease and all so he just casually sends out some disease like he does without thinking to much of it. It’s literal days until Apollo realizes something is severely wrong because when he’s flying over cities in his chariots, they aren’t as busy or crowded as they usually are.

Even when the other Gods return to Olympus from mingling with humans and whatnot, they look oddly terrible, as if they caught a flu or cold which should be impossible.

Obviously, Apollo being the god of healing is the one who’s checking up on the other Gods but he has no clue how a disease can spread to even them.

The only one with full immunity is Apollo, he made the disease so it does not affect him. His descendants and demigod kids are somewhat immune to the point they can catch it but it won’t be nearly as bad/might heal/not contagious.

Everyone else? Can get it, spread it. It’s like a zombie-apocalypse, if zombies did not want to eat brains.

The first god to bring it back to Olympus is Hermes, which Apollo was basically ordered to do a check up on him because ‘gods don’t get sick so why is he sick?’ Still undecided if the other gods have any immunity or if they’re just as susceptible like mortals are, same with various monsters.

Anyway, it is *rough* to deal with, especially since Apollo is single-handedly watching over the gods who got infected and the demigods. Surely he can just make an antidote but it doesn’t seem like the antidote can reverse or fully stop the spread, just maybe slow it down a little bit which is obviously not good.

At some point, probably after most of his family is infected, Apollo just shows up at Meg’s place in his Lester form like ‘hey so I may have messed up and need your help to make some kind of medicine-‘ Meg is just in disbelief that even now Apollo still needs her help but she helps reluctantly.

If I could draw I would draw out various characters with infection rates, sanity, immunity, and whatnot but alas, I can not draw. Basically Apollo and mortals related to him are immune/semi-immune while everyone else is fair game. Apollo has no idea how it got so bad so quickly to the point of spreading to the gods but if he doesn’t fix it soon, there’s going to be massive consequences, probably worst than losing the Oracles.

AU in which Percy is seriously injured on Antaeus' Arena, Luke rescues him and provides first aid, then Percy becomes a prisoner aboard Princess Andromeda.

Percy's powers are held back by Kronos and Hecate, he lives in his own small cabin in the lowest tier of the ship, Luke tries to persuade him to join him, and a forced semblance of friendship arises between Percy and Ethan.

one day Luke got drunk and he feels bad emotionally and mentally, he goes to Percy... and Percy was able to calm him down and comfort him. Percy is the only one who can comfort him and the only one with whom Luke feels at ease.

[I think about it platonically, but you can also see it in a romantic light. By the way, Percy is the legacy of Peitho, the goddess of charm and kind of the wife of Hermes, which is why Luke feels good and pleasant next to him].

Okay so first off, ANON I DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT BLESSED BE YOUR BRAIN FOR GIVING YOU THIS IDEA AND BLESSED BE YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH ME.

Second of, YES.

I will go with this being platonic, since that's how I personally prefer them. Anyway imagine if in this AU Kronos has a bit more trouble reviving, even with Luke as a vessle and Ethan joining. And thus Kronos/Luke need Percy to join up with them to get to their goal. There are two reasons for this change A) Antaeus' Arena happened relatively close to Luke getting possessed by Kronos, so it's a way to buy time for the plot. B) It's a strong(er) motivation for Luke/Kronos to keep Percy around and prisoner instead of just killing him when he keeps resisting. Also gives us a strong(er) reason for Luke to keep in close contact with him. Anyway just imagine Percy in that situation. Luke, in his drunken and emotional state pours out his heart to him. Telling him about how he's afraid of that Kronos planned- of what Kronos'll do to him. His first word to Percy when he came to him? "I never wanted this"

Not sure how to react Percy thinks it's a ploy at first. A scheme to get him to sympathize with Luke and weaken his defenses. But it just keeps going, and with a slight hint of horror does he realize that Luke's genuine. He reeks of alcohol and his cheeks are flushed- it's obvious that Luke's drunk. He couldn't properly manipulate Percy even if he tried. And with even greater horror does Percy realizes just what exactly Luke is telling him there. The third realization he makes, the fact that Luke feels comfortable and at ease around him, only comes after he already comforted Luke. Percy had no idea what he was doing and acted on instinct when he offered the older a hug. He already started calling himself an idiot mentally when Luke just stared at him after the offer, his eyes still hazy. When suddenly his cell door opened and Luke entered, pressing Percy against himself. Luke and Percy proceeded to spend the night like that in Percy's cell. The younger managed to get the blonde to settle down after a bit- at least get them to a sitting position. Luke still has him pulled to his side though- in something one could only describe as a gentle, almost brotherly hug. The younger's head rests on Luke's chest, smelling the alcohol still in his breath while Luke babbles on. One of his hands continues to rest on Percy's shoulder- protectively, almost. The younger can feel his hair growing wet from Luke's tears as he rests his head atop his.

In his drunken and emotional haze the blonde forgot to close the cell door again. He's no match to Percy right now- all that would need to be done to reach freedom would be to throw off Luke and run.

But he can't. Percy can't.

Not after seeing Luke like this- hearing Luke like this. And certainly not after feeling how Luke pressed him into his side, tenderly, lovingly. Having forgotten any mask or show he put on, and just letting it all pour out. None of the two speak about what happened the next morning. Percy wakes up alone, his cell locked again like it always was. Part of him wonders if it all was just a dream. Percy realizes it wasn't when Luke comes to him again. He's sober this time, his face betrays no hint of what had happened the previous night.

But something is still different.

Luke's facade is cracking. And after realizing that Luke for some reason started taking comfort in him, Percy decides it's time that Luke and his Army return back home. Now the questions stands who will convince the other of that first :

Luke Percy to join Kronos, or Percy Luke to rennounce the Titan lord and return to camp.

It's my Dark AU, but Wings of Fire-fied.

I'm on the rocks about whether to make it or not, but I've made notes for all the major X-Men members (teens and adults), as well as the Brotherhood (teens and adults minus the Acolyte teens and Destiny). I'm kinda wanting to make it? But it also needs some fleshing out, which I've been brainstorming since about... 1:00am... and it's now almost time for most people to wake up. So, yeah. Brainrot is real.

(And I my notes, I mentioned that Dragon! Sabretooth has a soft spot for Dragon Logan and Dragonets! Laura and the Acolyte teens) (So yes, that means he likes Gambit and has probably adopted him/is the most stable father figure he has) (So thank you for inspiring me to agree that that should be canon for Evolution)

Magician!Naoto - Issun-Bōshi

Issun-Bōshi is a folktale and I believe one of the design inspiration for Canon Naoto’s persona. In said story, a childless couple prays for a child, and they are blessed with one, although the child is only 3 cm or 1.3 inches. When he left home and used a chopstick and a bowl to paddle his way to Heian-Kyo (Modern Day Kyoto) where he comes across an oni kidnapping a girl. Using his “sword” (a needle stuck in a piece of straw as a scabbard) and magic hammer, he kills the oni, and saves the girl. He uses the hammer to become 6ft tall. There are some differences depending on the version of the story, such as the old couple believing he was some kind of monster due to his height.

Fortune!Kanji - Aizen Myō’ō

Yes, I know Aizen Myō’ō already exists as a persona used by another character in the Persona Franchise, but we already have like 3 three people using Prometheus and 2 people using Hermes so whatever. Anyways, Aizen Myō’ō is a deity known for his rage, lust, and passion. He is one of the many wisdom kings in Buddhism and channels his aforementioned rage and lust into love for all of humanity and has the ability to transform worldly lust into spiritual awakening. He’s also the patron of male homosexual desire, with several men leaving live letters in his temple.

Chariot!Rise - Ame No Uzume

Ame No Uzume is the god of revelry, dawn, mirth, and the arts. Her most famous tale is when she aided in getting Amaterasu out of her cave after Susanoo enraged her. She does this by…er..upturning a tub in front of the cave, strip naked, and dance. The gods found this so funny and hilarious that their laughter causes Amaterasu to come out of her cave to see what the commotion was. I imagine the design would probably not go so risqué.

Hi, in the chthonic!apollo AU, how are the elder gods reacting to all the drama. While Hades is the one having to deal with granting sanctuary, I'm wondering how his siblings are reacting.

Also in another post, you mentioned the endgame of cthonic!athena and to avoid spoiling anyone I'll ask this question in a vague way. How different is Apollo in the chtonic!apollo AU compared to the cthonic!athena AU. Thanks

So in Chthonic Apollo, the elder gods are having A Lot of different reactions.

Zeus is apoplectic with rage, utterly furious that Apollo and Athena would dare defy him and made all the worse by the fact that Ares, Artemis, and Hermes haven't found them yet.

Hera is also furious, but in a different way. She's furious that Athena and Apollo are taking up so much of Zeus's attention. Furious that Zeus is waisting all his time on this. Slightly scared about what Athena's seizure could mean about the rest of them, because she could see that Athena wasn't faking, no matter what Zeus thought.

Demeter thinks Zeus is going too far with this, that Athena and Apollo will be back in their own time even if she was faking.

Something in the back of her mind is telling her that Athena wasn't though, and that something was ringing alarm bells that were slowly getting louder the longer Athena and Apollo kept running.

Poseidon is having trouble with a couple of things. The first is that he's getting A Lot of bad feelings about all this. He doesn't know why. It's because it unconsciously reminds him of Kronos. If Apollo and Athena had come to him, he would have gladly hidden them for as long as they wanted, no matter what Zeus said.

The second thing he's struggling with is Triton. Triton still sees Athena as his daughter, no matter what she might think, and he's heard about both the seizure and Apollo taking her and bolting and he Does Not like the implications of that. Clearly Apollo thought she was in enough danger to need to run as far and as fast as he could, and the idea of that is terrifying to him. Especially considering Zeus was to blame for Pallas's death all those years ago. He doesn't trust the god with Athena At All, so he's fighting Poseidon at every turn to get him to fight back against Zeus.

Hestia is not doing well with this At All. She's getting Severe flashbacks to Kronos. Especially the longer Athena and Apollo keep running. She could tell immediately that Athena wasn't faking, just like she could tell Apollo was genuinely terrified after the vision the Fates sent him. She knows that Apollo knows things she doesn't, because of his power over prophecy, but she's never seen him look that openly terrified after a vision before.

She tries to get Zeus to let up on them, to calm down so they'll come back on their own, but nothing she tries works. And even she's not sure if they'll really come back after this. Apollo had looked too afraid, and Athena had clearly been unwilling to trust any of them for a long time if she'd gone so far as to hide something like seizures.

So yeah, nobody is having a very good time right now.

Warning: Major Spoilers for Chthonic Apollo Fic Below The Cut!

So the ending for Chthonic Apollo is Very different from Chthonic Athena. From a certain point of view, anyway.

What basically happens is that Apollo is revealed to have always been a Chthonic god. Because he and Artemis and opposites, and Artemis was born first as an Olympian. So Apollo's Chthonic to preserve that dictonomy.

That's why he could sense that Athena was dying when nobody else could.

Athena becomes a Chthonic god as well, the same way she does in the Athena AU, but the main plot is about Apollo in this one.

The first mission you two went on together could have easily started World War III. During that time, Roier had often wondered what the hell he was doing among you, since he seemed to be the only one in his right mind. When he accepted Hermes' mission and considered the idea of choosing the two, he did not expect to face the wrath of two demigods who had recently discovered that they hated each other.

However, the mission was a success, and some gods saw a potential group of warriors forming if it weren't for the constant fighting you and Foolish had. He was the son of Aphrodite, attentive and a bit flighty, but he was good at fighting and, unfortunately for you, very handsome.

Being the daughter of Athena gave you quick agility in developing strategies and being quite intelligent when necessary, but something you didn't have was the ease of dealing with your heart, and that often led you down somewhat dangerous paths in your life. And one of them was when you decided to choose Foolish as your mission companion once again.

This time, in addition to Foolish, you had the opportunity to choose two other people, Bagi and Roier. Bagi, your sister, was someone who loved puzzles, perfect for the mission your mother had given you. And Roier was a great fighter and easy to handle.

The mission seemed simple: to protect an ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess of Wisdom by some humans who lived nearby. The forest was not very dense, but it looked like a labyrinth to strangers, and for some reason, it caught the attention of some curious humans. They were looking for relics to sell, as they were extremely valuable pieces.

The people of the region welcomed you all very well. They even seemed to suspect who you were, but if they knew, they didn't let on. The place you managed to stay was like a bungalow hotel, with Foolish and Roier in one and you and Bagi in another.

The two of you, being sisters and spending a lot of time together at camp, knew a few things about each other and managed to fit in well in the bungalow room. Bagi chose the bed on the right, while you chose the one on the left. And without saying much to each other, she was the first to go to the bathroom.

So you lay down on the bed on your back and thought about some things, which took a few minutes, because Bagi had left the bathroom, and you decided to go in.

As you guys arrived almost late in the afternoon, you decided that it was better to rest for the rest of the day and go and analyze your mother's temple early the next morning. So, after a hot and relaxing bath, you looked at the items that you had collected and that your subconscious thought would be useful for the mission.

But before you even got close to your bag, you heard a knock. You went towards it, realizing that Bagi was busy with something else, and with her headphones on, she probably hadn't even heard the knock.

As soon as you opened the wooden door, Foolish was there.

You narrowed your eyes, waiting to see what he wanted, but he seemed doubtful.

"What do you want?" you asked briefly.

"Do you have any soap I can borrow?" He scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed.

You continued to look at him, wondering what was going on in the minds of the two boys, even more so when they realized that they had forgotten some soap, knowing that they would be away from home for days.

"What's the matter, we ran out and didn't get everything." He seemed to understand the look you were giving him. So you went to your bag, took out some soap, and handed it to him.

Without further ado, he thanked you for the soap and returned to his bungalow, which was right next to yours.

As soon as you closed the door and looked back, Bagi laughed loudly as you looked at her from the side.

"You're really stupid, you know that?" she said, sitting on the edge of the bed she was on. "Your passion for him is becoming more and more stupid to watch."

You threw yourself on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Who told you I like him?" It was your turn to ask.

"It's literally written all over your face," she replied.

Maybe she was right. Your heart missed a few beats whenever you were around the boy, and you couldn't deny that Foolish really was someone sculpted by a Greek god, his mother was the goddess of beauty, and he couldn't be any different.

"I don't like him," you repeated, this time a little louder, and Bagi took it as a sign that you didn't enjoy the conversation.

"Okay... But you can't deny that he has beauty." She giggled while you grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it at her.

The conversation ended there, with both of you quiet, but with your minds in complete confusion, so you preferred to continue like this. You both wished each other a good night and went to sleep.

The next morning, everyone got up early, did their things, and met in a kind of open lobby in the middle of the bungalows. You had the necessary things in each backpack: food, water, and your weapons. Foolish somehow managed to hide his sword in his backpack, and Roier his two daggers. You already carried a kind of scythe, which was easy to hide, and Bagi, a good old bow.

"I hope you both enjoyed the soap," Bagi commented, trying not to laugh.

"Vete a la merda (Go fuck yourself)," Roier replied, hiding a smile, knowing it was just a joke. And Bagi burst out laughing.

Foolish laughed at the comment, but you noticed a slight blush on his cheeks as he laughed and looked at him to see what his reaction would be.

After this brief conversation, you informed some of the townspeople and then set off on the path you had received on a piece of parchment. You don't know exactly how you got it, and you have many questions about how it got into your things, but you didn't reject the piece of paper, and it was useful.

As you went deeper into the forest, the more confused you guys became. The map wasn't being useful, and you started to get stressed about everything going wrong. In a moment of pause, you sat on a rock and began analyzing the map again, which only resulted in more stress.

"I think we should separate," Bagi suggested, breaking the silence. "I think this would be more practical, and we could mark it with something to know where we've been," she continued, and Roier nodded in agreement.

"And how will we know if the other found it or not?" you asked skeptically.

She placed her backpack in front of her, opened it, and rummaged through it until she took out two flares, smiling as she held them up.

You mimicked her action, standing up, feeling excitement reignite within you.

"You and Foolish go there, and Roier and I will go this way," Bagi instructed, pointing first to the left and then to the right. When she paired you with Foolish, your smile faltered.

Foolish and Roier agreed without hesitation, standing up as the mood between everyone seemed lighter with Bagi's idea.

She threw a flare to Foolish, who quickly caught it midair.

Despite not commenting on the pairing, Roier looked at Bagi with an enigmatic expression, as if communicating silently. She gave him a playful push and said goodbye, with Roier mirroring her movements and following her.

You looked at Foolish, your mind racing with thoughts. He, too, seemed to be analyzing you silently. Neither of you moved or said a word, the tension almost palpable.

"How are we going to mark where we went?" you asked, breaking the silence.

Foolish looked around and pulled a small knife from his pocket.

"We'll mark an X on the trees."

You nodded and took the initiative to lead the way.

Every few steps, you noticed Foolish carving his marks into the trees while scanning the surroundings for signs of the temple.

The silence between you was awkward, neither of you wanting to break it.

Your mind wandered back to your last mission together. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t pinpoint where this animosity between you and Foolish originated. From the moment he arrived at camp, a silent rivalry had sparked between you, intensifying over time—perhaps due to the age-old rivalry between Aphrodite and Athena.

After what felt like hours, it seemed like you were walking in circles. The “X’s” on the trees had disappeared. Frustrated, you scanned the area carefully until you spotted an olive tree in the distance.

Without a word to Foolish, you headed toward it, realizing that there were more olive trees ahead, forming a winding path. The trees led you to the temple.

What you failed to notice was the Minotaur waiting in ambush. The beast lunged at you, but Foolish reacted instantly, drawing his sword and shield to block the attack. Despite the shock, you gathered your composure and pulled a small device from your pocket, which transformed into your shield.

The Minotaur was unlike anything you'd fought before. Towering and menacing, it had enormous claws, bulging eyes, and massive horns. Its intent was clear—it was there to kill. But so were you.

Foolish glanced at you, concern evident in his eyes, but the look you shared conveyed everything. On the battlefield, you were allies, despite your differences. Your training together at camp had prepared you for moments like this.

The two of you split off, analyzing the beast like predators stalking prey. Without a word, you moved in opposite directions, gripping your weapons tightly.

Meanwhile, Bagi and Roier stumbled upon the scene, shocked by the battle unfolding. Without hesitation, they unsheathed their weapons and rushed to join you.

Together, you fought fiercely, and it didn't take long for the Minotaur to fall lifeless to the ground.

As the dust settled, everyone tried to catch their breath. But Foolish suddenly groaned loudly, drawing all attention to him.

You turned to him, your heart sinking when you noticed the red stain spreading across his shirt near his abdomen.

"Foolish?" you called out, your voice laced with worry. He looked at you and gave a faint smile, as if to reassure you he was fine. But his knees buckled, and he collapsed, making the severity of his injury unmistakable.

No matter how deep into their mob parents' lands the hybrids go, human towns keep encroaching. Every hybrid's got some version of the same ol' story- "Too human" for one side of the family, "too monster" for the other.

Survival in the jungle isn't easy, but at least it's home... or was, for a while. How many more seasons can they relocate, rebuild... avoid the hate and cruelties that hybrids receive? From both sides of their families, sometimes...

🌄 First Written - "Platypus Bird: Free to Good Home"

In which Grian and Joel, having saved a newborn sniffer hybrid from drowning, go through the basic motions of "What comes next?" - Like childproofing the floating foster home.

The first character and lore story completed for this AU. I've planned pieces both before and after this point in the SnifferMyFeet arc- this is just the one that came out first.

I tried to write it as an easy introduction to the lore without being too long or intense. It's a good place to start.

🗺️ Worldbuilding

- The vibe I started with was "Hermitcraft setting, but full of civilians." I expanded from that to having many towns and cities, some of which are more accepting towards mob and hybrid cultures than others.

- Close Hermitcraft parallels, though I'm only familiar with Seasons 6 to 10, and only from about 6 POVs.

- There's only one world. No servers- Everything exists within one and Hermits move to new areas instead of changing worlds.

- Mobs are both realistic and mystical. Hybrids may have some magic, but not as much as mobs, who have far more mastery of it. Mobs are looked on with some respect or fear.

- Mining, crafting, and inventory management are mystical too.

- Some people eat meat, but society caters well to vegetarian and vegan dishes; no one would bat an eye for requesting such (unless you're somewhere very unique indeed). Mobs and even hybrids may be killed for their meat in some places while others have greater protections.

- Mobs bring down other mobs for meat (Ex: wolves preying on sheep, fox on chickens). Some do attack humans, but these are usually zombies, endermen, phantoms, creepers, and other monsters (not real-world creatures).

-> I don't plan to depict hybrid meat, though some folks may make threatening remarks (Ex: "I bet you taste like chicken"). Also, culture generally leans towards "good, civilized humans" eating plants they've farmed rather than "hunting and foraging like the animals."

- It's common to build fantastic things, with one person capable of building a whole town if they put their mind to it. Resources are widely available, but not always renewable or easy to obtain. The existence of many settlements across the world has led to the largest resource yields being protected.

- Humanoid mobs like villagers, pillagers, and wandering traders are essentially equal with humans. They have their own cultures and language, but can speak with humans.

- Pigs and piglins are perceived as the same thing. I think in this AU, piglins are perceived as boars (male) and pigs as sows (female), and all under the name "piglin."

- Mob/human relationships are often frowned on, though some parts of the world are more accepting. Human/hybrid relationships may be looked at skeptically by those who believe they're too different to work. Hybrid/mob relationships may be seen as beastly.

- All hybrids are infertile.

Found Family - Taking in unrelated or semi-related people. Family relationships can be a bit fluid or undefined, though some do have more defined sibling or parent-child vibes.

Grian's raising several people who are his half-siblings, but he sees himself a bit more as a flock leader (or father) than a brother.

Mob hybrid racism (Whole AU is themed around pushback from mobs and humans alike)

-> Views differ even between individuals within the same society, so it's not easy to "simply move to an accepting place."

-> Chromia (Scott's S2 empire from Empires SMP) is often cited as very accepting, even providing medical treatment to hybrids that some places don't offer

-> AU depicts cruelty. Mostly towards hybrids, but towards humans and mobs sometimes as well. 3-week-old SnifferMyFeet got thrown in a river by his dad; that's the direction we're going.

Non-human humanoids - Mobs are human-sized anthros. Hybrids are also human-sized. Mobs are very animalistic, with behaviors and community structures mimicking real-world animals (such as hunting other animals, which means anthros in this AU).

-> Grian was taken from his mom because she only fed him worms and grubs when he was born; his hybrid body needed milk.

-> Hybrids also have many mob instincts, but to a lesser degree.

Interspecies relationships: Human/mob, human/hybrid, and hybrid/mob are all fair game.

Human/mob relationships can result in hybrid offspring

Eins

He doesn't understand why you feel the need to do this. There's no reason to treat him so gently, and Eins is left with no idea how to respond. The petting feels so good, though, that it's easy to just close his eyes and accept that this is his Master's will. He doesn't react much more than by leaning into your hand with a low, contented sigh, but it's obvious that he's enjoying the touch. This must be some kind of reward. That's the only way Eins can make sense of it, but it's still enough to justify being so spoiled.

Siegblut

He starts out tense and uncertain of what you might try to do; the small space and excessive physical contact feel like a warning that something bad is about to happen... and yet, all you do is pet him until he's too blissed out to think of anything but how good it feels to lean into your hand for more. Siegblut needs the affection a lot more than he's fully aware of (or willing to admit), and being treated like this is going to make him bond to you even more. It's hard not to trust you when he's so relaxed under your touch.

Herme

It's usually sex that makes Herme stupid and pliant, not affection... but this kind of spoiling will eventually melt his brain just as badly. He starts out stiff and uncomfortable, clearly unhappy with the irritatingly soft way you're treating him, but the constant touch and the warmth of your body next to him soon start eroding whatever mixed-up common sense he has. When Herme is brainless like this, too overwhelmed to think much at all, it's the only time he's going to accept affection so easily.

We'll start with Leo because I feel like there's more to talk about with him.

Leo is the son of Bellona and is a member of the fifth cohort. He came to Camp Jupiter after the death of his mortal mother when he was eight.His best friends are the two Praetors Piper and Jason. Now he climbed the ranks with Piper to make it to Praetor status. He never really cared about being Praetor but was just there for Piper. During war games Leo would use the traps more as pranks to the other side instead of actually fighting. With that he used a dagger. Not a sword, not a spear, not even a shield, just a measly dagger he had since he was nine. That combined with him being in the fifth cohort and a "wild child" people didn't trust him with important decisions. However, he is his mother's son and is a great strategist. People were so focused on the prank part they didn't notice Piper shadow traveling behind them.

When they finally got close to the position of Praetor they realized that only one of them could be Praetor. Many excepted a battle of some sorts to see who would become the next Praetor. To their shock (?) Leo just kinda dropped out of the running allowing his very ambitious friend to get the job. However, Leo was allowed to become a Centurion instead. During these meetings he was surprisingly serious and had amazing battle strategies and knew a lot about wars.

During the Second Titan War Leo provided a lot of helpful advice to Camp Jupiter. When he was actually on the battle field for real his dagger was probably the most lethal weapon out there. He lived up to being the son of a war goddess. When he was out there he also used those pranks he got so good at using to distract monsters. Sadly many people didn't like this tactic so he got way less credit than he deserved.

When Piper went missing he was offered the role again but he declined AGAIN. Jason was weirdly disappointed by that. He became good friends with the new comers Percy and Hazel. He was able to tell that Hazel was from the past and that there was something about him that threw her off. He went on a quest with Hazel and Nico to Alaska. Only after him coming back did people finally recognize his talents.

Now he is also apart of the Tartarus duo in this AU. He falls in with Piper and the typical Tartarus stuff happens. When he leaves the first person to welcome him back was Jason who hugged him tighter than anyone has before.

Frank's turn :)

Frank Zhang was by no means a troubled kid. He was just a kid from Canada whose mom and grandma died. Sure he picked a couple locks here and there but it was never a lock of importance. Okay maybe one time he stole something from one of the kids at his school but thats just because he stole it from someone else. And sure he rigged the glitter bomb to explode during the pep rally but it wasn't even his idea! They bullied him into doing it, plus it was the school colors so it was on theme. That put him in a school for troubled kids. Eventually he'd been in so many that they called up a distant relative of his in Nevada and sent him there. They put him into the wilderness school where he met Reyna.

Reyna also probably should not have been there but Frank was happy she was. The two became close friends along with Piper. Little did they know all their memories of Piper were fake. Now when he left with Annabeth and Silena to go back to camp he was claimed by Hermes. In this AU the Cabin 9 Curse is the Cabin 11 Curse.

The cabin counselor, Malcolm Pace, explains to Frank that every single on of their pranks have failed since Micheal died. One of these was a fire breathing dragon that has been in the works since before Micheal died. Miranda, the former counselor, was on bed rest from this dragon. Frank doesn't know how to feel about that as his weakness is his very burnable stick. He does the Leo thing and gets the dragon back to running. He gets it not breathe fire but to breathe out glitter.

During his time at camp he never felt more at home. Lacy, Malcolm, Miranda, his other siblings and the unclaimed campers are so welcoming. When he came back from his quest Miranda and Malcolm made him a counselor. The first prank he played on the camp as initiation Lacy helped.

Later on he is a bit wary of Hazel, a daughter of Vulcan and fire user, but they grow and their love story stories.

In this au set during god games when Zeus is deciding on the game he decides against saying that Athena needs to convince five other gods and goddesses because that is something that plays to her strengths instead he says that she has avoided getting caught by four gods and goddesses and being brought back to Olympus by them while they hunt down her for a month and if she can do that then he’ll let Odysseus go but she’s not allowed to injure the hunters to the point that they can’t get back to hunting her the next day and the hunters are given an item that is enchanted to show which direction she is in so she can’t easily lose them and at the start of the game she has one hour to get of Mount Olympus before they start to hunt her down btw the hunters are Ares ,Aphrodite ,Apollo because I hc him as know how to hunt and track from his twin not to sure who I want the last hunter to be though

oh ive thought about this A LOT. like an ungodly amount. i actually at first made a character for Heimdall as a love interest but scrapped it cuz i didnt want it to be a Heimdall x oc thing ya know. then my dear friend (@medievildead) got me Hermespilled- and now i have. better ideas. they wouldnt work with what im actually going for with res!AU cuz itd add sooooo many things and its just. ough. but!

But i'd like to imagine that Atreus one day just comes home wearing the like ancient Greek travelling outfit and Kratos looks him up and down, goes silent for a few minutes before asking where the fuck and who the fuck he got that from. Atreus just happily going "from this really nice man, had flaming hair, weird little voice but he was cool and- oh there he is-" and just points over to Hermes crawling out of the bushes and yelling "where are my fucking shoes Kratos?!"

i think thats funny, i think that should be canon. Hermes existing and following Atreus home to Midgard opens up so much place for angst with Kratos and Atreus but im not here for that, im here to make 2 people worse. mostly Heimdall, reverse therapy now that Hermes is here /hj

Hermes joining the gang is just like like the Thor scene but Loud and hes like "i brought olives :]" and Kratos lets him in just for that trade tbh.

Kratos asking how tf hes even alive and Hermes replies with "im bugs" without elaborating, we never find out how he's alive.

Uncle Hermes is definitely my fav trope so him bonding with Atreus over atheletics and mischief, mostly bullying Heimdall. Hermes locked eyes with Heimdall and immediately decided that he was a worthy opponent. so their relationship starts with Hermes and Atreus bullying the shit out of Heimdall, who's self growth is really being tested on a daily basis. when Atreus leaves again Heimdall is left with just 1 shithead insisting on making his life harder (but oh so affectionately).

i think Heimdall would actually be more likely to fall for Hermes cuz he finally got that giant stick out of his ass, would probably find his japes and overall mischief endearing, after he warms up to the Greek god.

Hermes is canonically really good at cooking too if im correct so him helping Heimdall with cooking,,, cute. so cute. Hermes teaches Heimdall Greek dishes and Heimdall teaches him Nordic dishes but Hermes usually just goes "this has no flavour" which in return makes Heimdall call him a slur of some kind in offense.

Hermes being the god of travel drags Heimdall around the 8 realms c o n s t a n t l y. Heimdall hates it, especially since Vanaheim would probably be Hermes' fav realm. but he usually plans a 'surprise' picnic so Heimdall isn't too upset about it :3

Hermes constantly throwing apples at Heimdall. infront of everyone. its funny. most people dont get why Heimdall turns completely red every single time.

Selkie!Percy AU - Luke is the only one besides his mom Sally, [who is a full-blooded Selkie, who chose a human life], who knows, that Percy is a Selkie and his pelt is his cardigan.

It is Luke, the best person he has met since his mom, that Percy trusts to keep his skin, knowing that Luke is too good to take advantage of it.

Luke really does it - while Percy is on a quest, Luke lovingly protects his cardigan, keeping it clean and protecting it from other children, others find it a little strange, but they know that Luke cares deeply about his promises.

Luke found out that Percy was a half-selkie when he was looking for him to return to his cabin before curfew, Percy came out of the sea in his white seal guise and stood naked in the moonlight except for his skin in the form of a cardigan that was long enough to cover his private parts. Percy was terribly scared, Luke calmed him down and promised not to divulge his secret on the river Styx.

Luke confesses his "loyalty" to Kronos holding Percy's skin in his hands and Percy turns cold with horror, Luke swore only to protect his secret, not to use it…

Luke throws a cardigan at Percy that was in excellent condition and tells him to make his choice - stay at the camp or join Kronos.

Luke gave Percy his own choice.

ANYWAY TO ADD ONTO THIS AND THE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERCY AND LUKE (also, platonic Luke & Percy to the TOP) Imagine if the way Luke acted directly overlapped and paralleled with the way selkie parents and older family members usually act, which played into Percy trusting him so much. For example : Selkie kids don't usually go hunting their own food while wearing their pelt due to the dangers. Their parents hunt and bring them their food. Out of pelt, this translates into selkie kids not really getting their own food. Instead having their parents bring it to them. Luke, when he noticed Percy never really going up to take his own food during meals starts to bring some with him. Before he found out about the other's heritage Luke had assumed that he was simply shy. Just imagine little Percy sitting uncomfortably at the Hermes table. Starring down at his empty plate and very clearly being hungry- but also too afraid to get his own food due to his own instincts screaming at him to stay and wait for his parent. And suddenly there's Luke next to him, giving Percy his most reassuring smile as he shoves a plate of different foods towards him. Also just think about the idea that normally, older family members take care of the pelt of the younger family members. When the younger members are still small and can not yet take care of their pelt fully on their own usually an older relative takes over. They show them how it's properly done by demonstrating it. It's something deeply personal and familial between selkies, usually reserved only for parents & children or siblings. When Percy had lost his mother he struggled a lot with the upkeep of his pelt at first. He was still pretty young for a selkie, and while he knew the basics he didn't yet have the same skill level that his mother had. He figured it out after a while, but it was a bumpy road. So when he gave his pelt to Luke to look after and care for it was actually a HUGE thing for selkies. One could have taken the action as Percy endorsing Luke as his family.

Of course that wasn't the case back then- the gesture came from a place of need. Still there were rumors among the nymphs born from it. It's also why Percy broke down after Luke left for Kronos. He spent the night curled up in bed, crying as he clutched his pelt. The pristine condition of it did nothing to soothe Percy. Because it was physical proof of the fact that Luke cared. He cared for him.

The pelt looked better than during the first few days of camp where Percy hadn't yet quite gotten the hang of caring for it yet. And Luke didn't even have the experience he had before- he wasn't even a selkie.

Yet he also took time to learn, and to keep it in perfect condition.

To Percy it felt like losing his mom all over again. It felt like he lost the bit of family he had at camp.

And he couldn't even comfort himself with the idea of Luke never caring in the first place because he did.
