Thinking about how much Steve loves his original kiddos SO much.
Like he loves all of the kids and would absolutely die for every single one of them, but Dustin, Max, and Lucas are his.
They’re the first ones he protected, the first ones he risked his life for, the first ones he met and connected with.
Mike pretty much refused to get to know Steve because of their history, he never had a chance to connect with Will and El on his own, but Dustin, Max, and Lucas?
those were his kids from the absolute beginning of everything.
Dustin saw him walking towards the Wheeler's house, he could have gone anywhere else, but he saw Steve and said "i pick him", and Lucas and Max did the EXACT same thing, watching him go up against the demodogs with nothing but a nail bat, shoving Max back and putting himself in front of a trio of kids he barely knew inside of the bus.
Steve literally knew Max for a few hours, and he didn't know she was Billy's sister until he showed up, but he heard the fear in her voice, and did not hesitate to step up against the man who had been making his own life a living hell.
Steve probably knew he couldn't win against Billy, but the second he saw him going after Lucas, an innocent kid who was just trying to befriend the newest arrival in town? I firmly believe that's the moment where Steve said "those are my kids, and nobody fucks with my kids"
and when Erica gets involved the following summer? Yeah, Steve knows she can handle herself, but she's also younger than any of the Party was when they got involved, so he's a little extra protective of her, checking in on her when he goes over to help Lucas practice for basketball tryouts
and don't even get me STARTED on Lucas and Steve bonding with each other post-season 3. I think Steve and Dustin get a little separated when the Party got to high school, because Dustin became so excited about being part of Hellfire, and as much as he tries to help Max, she's moving away from everyone, so Steve absolutely feels like he's losing his kids a little. But then Lucas shows up, and tells him he's going to try out for basketball, and all of a sudden, Steve's got special time to spend with Lucas, where they just talk to each other. Lucas talks about struggling with school, and worrying about Max, and finding his place, and Steve gets it all.
just... special movie nights that consist of Steve, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Erica, and Robin.
Arcade afternoons what have Max surrounded by her favorite people as they cheer her on at whatever game she's playing.
Basketball games post-everything where Lucas looks at the stands and sees them screaming and cheering for him.
Erica and Dustin going to the gym one afternoon to help with the relief efforts and seeing Steve being held back by Robin, Jonathan, AND Argyle as he screams at Andy for touching HIS little sister (and if Erica gives Steve the biggest hug she's ever given anyone after that... well, that's her business).
the way they form a little second found family within the main Party?? how they all love each other so much and tell each other things they'd never tell another soul???
#god they're so important to me#this also turned into me adoring steve and the sinclair siblings#like yes steve getting adopted by claudia is very very valid#but can we please talk about steve getting adopted by the sinclairs????#shhhh the sinclair siblings are secretly steve's favorite kids#stranger things#steve harrington#lucas sinclair#max mayfield#dustin henderson#erica sinclair#this little secondary party group also leads into my favorite hc#which is dustin and erica platonic soulmates supremacy#like dustin and max are 100% brother and sister#but dustin and erica give off steve and robin vibes in the BEST possible way

Top 5 stranger things characters
Oooh, this is a good one. Prepare for analysis of each character I choose lovely😂!
1. Steve Harrington
So, I don’t think it’s a secret how whipped I am for Steve. But this is different than just being attracted to Steve. This is his character development. Like almost everyone, I started out hating Steve, but when he stood up to Tommy and Carol and we learned about his shitty parents, you kind of see that under all the asshole actions, he was just a lost teenager who is in way over his head. After the Halloween episode of Stranger Things 2, I was in love with him. He really dropped everything to help Dustin then instantly bonded with him. By the end of Stranger Things 2, he was my all-time favourite character.
2. Dustin Henderson
Okay, just a disclaimer, he used to be my favourite character until Steve took that place. First of all, his cheeks are so adorable that I just want to squish them (especially in season one)! Second of all, he is so sarcastic and nerdy, he reminds me of myself. He is just so Dustin (idk how to explain it). He gets so passionate about things, he cares so much about his friends, he is the sweetest thing ever. He’s pretty much comedic relief, but he’s so much more than that to me. He’s insanely smart, but he also has so much chaotic stupid energy (a lot like me) where he doesn’t really think before he does something to says something (I do that all the time), but is the first person to look at you weird or call you out when you say/do something without thinking Bottom line, I would die for Dustin and that is a fact.
3. Robin Buckley
I cannot have Steve and Dustin without having Robin. The moment we were introduced to Robin, I fell in love. Not only can Maya Hawke step on my throat and crush my windpipe, but Robin is the queen of sarcasm (if you hadn’t noticed, I love sarcastic characters). And, despite not being in the popular crowd at school, she didn’t let that stop her from being herself and being happy.
4. Lucas Sinclair
Like Dustin, Lucas was one of my very first favourite characters. Though he turns down a lot of the other boy’s ideas and is a bit of a nay-sayer, he’s still a precious little baby (and let's be honest, his little spats with Mike and Dustin are amazing). He gets so rilled up when he’s trying to prove his point and if he can’t he doesn’t admit the other person was right, he just goes silent and I love it. I also love how he’s never afraid to speak his mind, call his friends out, or make his opinion known.
5. Erica Sinclair
This was a toss-up between Will, Max, and Erica, but our sassy queen won. In the beginning, didn’t really like Erica because I have dealt with customers that are adult versions of her when she was terrorizing Steve and Robin and I had flashbacks, but it was the first elevator scene that pushed me towards being her fan. Much like her brother, she doesn’t let people not consult or ignore her. She knows how to get what she wants and she gets it. She will not hesitate to give you the brutal truth nor will she hesitate when calling you out. In conclusion, the only reason Erica is so low is that she’s tied with two other people on my favourite character list and that’s only because of the lack of screen-time she got. I fully expect more Erica next season and if I don’t get it - I will throw a fit. I also love the Lucas/Erica sibling duo and dynamic.

Family Games’ Night
Steve Harrington x Reader, Nancy Wheeler x Jonathan Byers
Length: 1428 words
Warnings: not really, just cute bbys playing DnD
When you’d first begun dating Steve Harrington, you didn’t think you would ever consider hanging out with a bunch of middle-schoolers ‘fun’. But, here you were, at the Wheeler’s house, ‘babysitting’ on a Friday night.
It started off with Dustin Henderson, AKA; the sweetest boy you’d ever met. The kid had a lisp (which stemmed from his cleidocranial dystosis), a passion for nerdy games and movies, and sometimes he tried to seem cooler than he was (although, you had a suspicion that was just to get girls’ attention). Dustin had almost literally adopted Steve as his older-male-authority-figure, and you were struck dumb by how seriously Steve actually took it. But, considering neither of them had siblings (and Steve parents were mostly absent, or dictating at him), unlike the rest of their friends, it hadn’t surprised you too much that they were so close.
Dustin had begun to appear in the backseat of Steve’s car, whenever Steve picked you up to go on a date or hang out. It mostly meant the two of you were dropping him off somewhere (which was usually the Wheeler’s, the Arcade, or the Byers’), but occasionally the three of you would go out for ice-cream, or for KFC. Secretly, your heart warmed at Steve’s interactions with the kid. Even more secretly, you wondered if he would be like that with other kids’ (maybe even yours, one day?).
Sooner than you could blink, three turned into Steve and yourself being joined by several other middle-schoolers. Dustin was joined by his adorable friends; Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, Lucas Sinclair, Elle Hopper, and Max Mayfield. Sometimes, you were also joined by Jonathan Byers (Will’s older brother) and Nancy Wheeler (Mike’s older sister, and Steve’s ex-girlfriend) – the two shy teenagers were dating, and totally cute together, so they didn’t spend too much time with the kids.
The boys were nerds, often described as complete and utter dorks, but they were ridiculously funny. Also, they were incredibly smart for their age… Once or twice they had even helped yourself and Steve with your school-work (mostly science, those dorks loved their science).
Still, there was nothing nicer than sitting in the Wheeler’s basement, watching said nerds fight about their Dungeons and Dragons’ quest, after a very long week at school. Your week had been filled with tests and essays, owing to your proximity to the close of the school year. There was something about watching them fight and shout, completely joyous and always smiling, that unwound the knots in your tense shoulders and back. Today, you were even being paid by Mr and Mrs Wheeler to be there, and watch them. Everyone’s parents had left the kids’ in your capable hands, as well as Nancy’s, whilst they went to a parent-teacher night at the school.
Elle, Max and Jonathan had joined the usual suspects, but they weren’t very understanding of the complicated rules to the boy’s game. Hence the fight that has occurred.
“Why can’t we just go there, Mike!” Max was every bit the fiery red-head she seemed to be at a first glance, which explained why she was so frustrated with the long-winded and complex game. “It would be easier that way!”
Mike let out a loud groan, very tired with her complaints about the quest. “You say something, I roll the dice as the Dungeon Master, and then I tell you if your actions are successful.” He’d explained this twice already, and behind him was a laughing Dustin and Lucas; who were amused at their tall friend’s dramatics. A quiet, but smiling, Elle and giggling Will were to his left, trying to not get involved in the impending battle between the two friends.
Jonathan, trying to be some form of a peace keeper, chimed in, “Max, if you don’t want to play by the rules, then don’t play.” He was unsuccessful in swaying the girl.
She rolled her eyes, before huffing and turning towards Lucas and Dustin for support, “Back me up, guys!” The two shook their heads, hands in the air, wide smiles on their faces. “Ugh, fine! We’ll go the long way, but you need to admit it’s dumber this way!” Mike’s face seemed to flush with anger.
Before the argument could capture your attention for another twenty minutes, the upstairs front door was knocked upon loudly. Seeing as Nancy was currently occupied by smiling at her peace-keeping boyfriend and annoyed brother, you announced that you would grab the door, “I got it!” Swiftly, you extracted yourself from your boyfriend, who you were leaning against. You jogged up the stairs, and to the door, swinging it open to see one of your school-mates. They worked at the only pizza place in town, and had three pies in their hands, so it wasn’t odd to see them. “Hey! Two pepperonis, one cheese?”
They nodded, smirking at you, “Yeah.” You turned to grab the money that the Wheelers’ had set out for the pizza, and you were unaware of two things; that Steve had followed you up the stairs, and that the pizza-deliverer was checking you out. Whilst you didn’t notice either things happening, Steve did. He watched as you grabbed the money set out, and he observed how the pizza guy checked you out – he was well aware of the lecherous gaze on your ass, and he was not happy about that whatsoever.
As you placed the notes into their hand (trying not to touch their hands awkwardly), you felt the familiar arms of your boyfriend wrap around your middle, thoroughly surprising you. “Let me get those for you, babe,” Steve unwound his arms from your body, then yanked the pizza boxes from the poor, shocked delivery-guy. “Thanks,” You watched in befuddled amusement, as your boyfriend spoke tersely to them, “Bye!” He slammed the door closed, surprising you and the now locked-out delivery driver greatly. Eyes wide, you turned to look at Steve, and witnessed him clench his hands around the pizzas. Also, his eyes were glaring down the door… Oh!
“You don’t have to be jealous, or scared Steve.” You smiled at him, knowing this was something you needed to verbalise. After all, his last girlfriend (whilst still your friend) had hurt him deeply. “I am in love with you, I don’t want to be with anyone else.” Carefully, you leaned over the large pizza boxes between you two, and you placed a soft kiss to his lips, “Okay, Harrington?” Silently, you waited as your boyfriend took in all that you had said.
Eventually, Steve sent a gorgeous, but shy, smile towards you. He nodded, with his hair bouncing as he did so, “Okay, I’m sorry… I just,” He put the pizza boxes onto the countertop of the kitchen you were now standing in. “I love you, and I do trust you… I just, I was hurt before…” Both of you knew what Nancy had done wasn’t right, despite the fact your friendship with the brunette had continued on. She had deeply hurt the tall-haired, former-king-of-Hawkins-High. Essentially, she had strung him along, told him she loved him when she hadn’t, then cheated on him… Forgiveness had been something she’d worked hard to gain from Steve.
“I know,” You stretched your arms around Steve, determined to make him feel better before the two of you go back down to the shit-show downstairs. “Just know that we can trust each other, okay?”
“Okay.”
It took another ten minutes for someone to wander upstairs, searching for the two of you, and the pizzas. Unfortunately for Dustin, the person who was voted by the others to do such a task, he walked right in on the sight of you being pressed against the kitchen wall - your arms were wrapped around Steve’s neck, hands tangled in his hair, and lips locked onto his. “Ugh, gross, c’mon!” Seeing his ‘older brother’ and his friend make-out was always disgusting to him, no matter how many times he’s walked in on this (this had to be at least the fifth time). The kid grunted, avoiding looking at you two as he passed to grab the pizza boxes, “Gross.” He scuttered out of the kitchen, probably to go downstairs and complain about what he’d just witnessed.
You smiled in amusement, “Hmm, maybe we should wait until we’re not babysitting to get all ‘gross’.”
Steve looked at you in faux-shock, “But we’ve started a tradition of games’ nights, where we scare ‘our’ children with our gross love! We can’t abandon tradition like that, babe.” Your loud laughter was heard from all the way downstairs.

summary: the fed-up girlfriend of billy hargrove hears bout his fight with her childhood friend steve harrington and neighbor lucas sinclair and she comes to her senses by making a tough decision
word count: 2,953 dear god i’m so sorry
warnings: asshole!billy hargrove, season 2 spoilers, break ups
a/n: hey hi what’s up long time no see. so i’ve decided that i’m gonna attempt to write again here on this site! cool! anyways, if this sucks i’m sorry - go easy and give me some feedback because i’d love to be more active. and i’m sorry this is so unnecessarily long i just haven’t written in a while and got ahead of myself. also this is set the day after the gang takes down the mind flayer. that day was monday, november 5th, 1984 according to the stranger things wikia (thanks laura!) so this is set on tuesday, the day after. oh and i’m tagging this as a steve fic and a billy fic because it’s kinda both.
You knew that dating someone who has a temper like Billy wasn't going to be easy. You knew that many arguments were to come due to his quick temper that would make you question if he really is the person you should be with. You heard all the warnings from everyone who would say that he was just going to break your heart, but you didn't listen. What everyone else had to say about your relationship didn't bother you - they didn't see the side of Billy that you had grown so fondly of ever since he moved to Hawkins. He would give you rides to and from school, flashing lazy smiles at you from the driver’s seat that left you wondering how the whole town couldn’t see him the way you did. At times he didn’t get along with some classmates, but that was just because he had planted in a small town where everyone knew everyone and was still adjusting.
In the beginning of yours and Billy’s relationship, the tall tales of what he did back in San Diego and who he mouthed off to during basketball practice scared you. However, after a few deep midnight conversations, you felt that you knew him well enough to look past the rumors. Even the brief warnings from Nancy Wheeler, a family friend since diapers, told you weren’t enough to tarnish the Billy Hargrove that you knew.
You didn’t know why the atmosphere in Billy’s Camaro was different on this cold Tuesday morning, but it was. Max, who you had grown fond of despite Billy not having much of an interest in her, had always sat in the back whenever you were in the car with them. Today, however, she had her legs sprawled across the backseat and was humming along to the radio. Not that Max would always sit with perfect posture any other day, but she wouldn’t stretch out like that.
As you made normal small talk with Max she added more into the conversation, talking about what she was learning in Science class and how AV Club was pretty damn nerdy, but she was in it for her friends. Surprisingly, Billy was the one who talked the least during the ride. Not that he was usually chatty, but he didn’t even make a snide remark about your awful singing. Hell, he even changed the station when Max asked him, to a station that you could tell he wasn’t a fan of.
Something was different. The dynamic had changed between the siblings and you were happy it meant that they were getting along better, even if that meant that Billy was uncharacteristically quiet during your routine car rides.
Once Max was dropped off and Billy’s car was parked in the high school parking lot you both sat in silence for a moment. Usually, Billy jumped right out of the car, ready to walk you to your locker. Today though, he was taking longer to light this cigarette due to his hands shaking. When you stopped looking at the cigarette itself you saw his hands, red and slightly bruised. Then you looked at his face again and realized that his face had a few faint bruises as well, that it wasn’t just the shadows.
“Oh my god Billy!” You gasped, then lowering your voice and being flooded with sympathy as your mind started jumping to conclusions. “What the hell happened?”
His eyes remained lock on the cigarette, still attempting to light it up with his shaking hands. You took the lighter from his hands, offering to do it. He allowed you to and gave you a small smile that didn’t meet his eyes.
“Defending your honor of course.” He told you, trying to turn your attempt at confrontation into a joke, but you weren’t amused.
You pleaded with him. “Billy come on…you’re worrying me.”
“Well, it’s nothing for you to worry about.” He paused, considering what version of truth he could share. “Just some guy last night at the party you missed last night running his mouth.”
You tried your hardest not to see red. Not to let your temper and your guilty plea to change Billy overtake what should have been a normal Tuesday day. You struggled but looking into Billy’s eyes, the man that you were falling in love with was helping you.
“That doesn’t change the fact that you need to work on your violence babe…” You trailed off, not knowing how else to reach your boyfriend.
He sighed, wringing his hands together. “I know Y/N. Believe me, I’m trying. But this guy, I just didn’t know how else to react. You know I’m trying baby. You know.”
You did. Despite what it may look like from outsiders, Billy was changing and had you to thank for that. You knew that you should never go into a relationship wanting to change someone, but it honestly wasn’t all you. He wanted this too.
You kissed him briefly and squeezed his hand before walking out of the car and making your way into the school. You and Billy went your separate ways, him muttering something that you couldn’t fully understand.
As you approached your locker you saw Nancy walk to hers which was a few down from yours. When she noticed you, her eyes went into a slight panic state as she looked around, as if she was looking for a way out.
“Hey, Nance! What’s up?” You chirped, trying to blame her odd behavior on whatever possible drama could be going down between her, Steve, and Jonathan.
She looked down, avoiding eye contact. “Hi Y/N. Just stressing over that Math test, I’m going to go and talk to Paul for some help. Later!”
Despite trying to push Nancy’s strange behavior out of your head, you had to wonder what was making her run away so quickly. Sure, she cared a lot about her grades, but you knew for a fact that Math was her strong suit, especially Algebra.
Pushing past the odd start to this day, you kept your eyes on the floor as you made your way over to homeroom.
Your only friend in that class was Steve Harrington. Steve and you had a history, you were best friends up until the 4th grade when people decided that having friends with the opposite gender was weird. Despite you both not being as close anymore, you still looked forward and enjoyed the time that you both spent together, despite Billy not being a huge fan of him.
Steve was already in the seat next to you, with his trademark sunglasses oddly on indoors. (Let’s pretend the sunglasses hid his bruises okay) You greeted him, trying to start a conversation but he didn’t put much effort into it.
Despite Steve ditching the “King of Hawkins High” title you still knew that he enjoyed going to the occasional party, which led you to ask about if he went to the same party as Billy.
“Hey Harrington, what did you do last night?” You questioned.
His head snapped towards you as his breathing hitched. “Why? What have you heard?”
The fact that another one of your friends was acting strangely was beginning to concern you.
“Nothing. Billy just had some bruises on his face and knuckles.” Steve smirked at that statement for a brief moment, confusing you. “I was just curious if you were at the same place when he got into the fight.”
Steve looked at the ground, visibly struggling to find the words to answer your question. “Yes, I was at the same place. I watched the fight happen too…” He trailed off.
“You did? Who was it? He didn’t want to tell me.”
“I’m going to regret telling you this, but it was me Y/N.” As he said this he took off his sunglasses, revealing his black eye. Actually, his black eyes.
“Oh my god... I can’t believe he would lie to me about that! How could he not expect me to find out!? Did he threaten you or something?” Your heart was racing as you leaned into Steve.
“I don’t think he expected I’d tell you, or anyone for that matter.” Your eyes widened as your heart raced thinking about how many people could have witnessed the fight. “But him hurting me wasn’t even the worst part.” He confessed.
“What was then?” You questioned.
Steve took your hand, bracing himself for how you would react to this. “It was because he had Lucas pinned against a cabinet…He stormed into the Byers’ house and was flipping his shit looking for Max.” He took a deep breath as he continued, knowing fully well how fond you were of the young redhead. “I don’t know why but when he saw that she was with him, he just lost it Y/N. I’m so sorry that it happened. That I’m the one who had to tell you.”
His news hit you like a brick. The man you had dedicated months to hurt a middle schooler. It hit home that it was Lucas, he’s your neighbor and you had babysat him and his sister numerous times. You couldn’t get the image of him being violent towards Max out of your head too.
You started to connect the dots of what’s happened. Max must have felt like she had something over him, or at least she did for the moments being. Even though she adored you and Billy together, she has said on numerous occasions that she didn’t understand why you were with him. You knew that she would tell you not long after. Billy had been on edge and attempted to convince you that he still wanted to change because he knew how upset you would be when you found out. Nancy was cautious to talk to you because she didn’t want to risk telling you.
For the rest of homeroom, Steve told you more details about the fight. He didn’t really need to explain why he was at the house with The Party, it wasn’t much of a shock that he had become a babysitter because of them. He explained that Max was the one who stopped Billy from nearly killing Steve with an anesthetic. You didn’t understand why an anesthetic powerful enough to knock someone out was at the Byers’ house, but you didn’t feel like questioning any further He told you that Lucas got away from Billy by kneeing him in the groin.
Surprisingly, you didn’t feel as upset as you expected to be from the news. Steve managed to make you laugh despite how upsetting things were. Of course, you were upset at the breakup to come between you and your first potential love but with how you still had a strong support system of friends despite being in a committed relationship it wasn’t as scary as you thought a breakup would be.
billy,
meet me at my locker 15 minutes after school gets out – need to talk.
Y/N
You were grateful for the pep talks Steve, Jonathan, and Nancy was telling you. While they knew from the beginning that you and Billy most likely wouldn’t work out, they were still empathetic that this was how your relationship was ending.
“Hey darling, I got your note. What’s up?” Billy asked you when he got to your locker, 10 minutes after school let out. You left class 20 minutes before class got out, to prepare yourself for any possible excuse or explanation that he could throw at you.
Nothing could prepare you for the reality of the fight. Billy was defeated, a loss for words when you started confronting him.
“Nothing really. Just trying to wrap my head around the fact that you nearly killed Steve Harrington and tried to beat up a middle schooler.” His face deflated at those words. “And finding the best way to break up with you.”
His voice was quivering, frantically trying to change your mind. “Y/N, baby come on, don’t end this over something that doesn’t have anything to do with us. I don’t have a good excuse, but this has nothing to do with our relationship.” He takes your hands in his gently.
“Nothing!? Are you fucking serious?” You stepped towards him, trying to stop your voice from shaking and revealing how nervous you actually are. “This has everything to do with us! A relationship is supposed to be a team, you and me. When you do these things…beating up Steve, attacking Lucas, they reflect on me! I finally get how people see me – the oblivious girlfriend of the douche who has all the temper tantrums.”
You stormed away, not wanting to fight with him and deal with this anymore. It hurt letting go of your relationship but ultimately you knew that it wouldn’t end. It wasn’t that you didn’t like him for the person that he is, you did. The fights he got into just weren’t something you could handle any more.
“Steve told you all this, right? If he gets to be the one to tell you what happened can I at least be the one to explain it?” Billy pleaded.
“There’s nothing to explain. Just let me leave already.” You moved out of his way, attempting to cut the conversation short again.
“Come on Y/N, I’m your ride!”
“I’ll just find someone else! Please stop following me and don’t try talking to me again.” You yelled back, quickly walking past him.
You reached the parking lot, eyes frantic as you were looking for anyone you recognized who could give you a ride home. Finally, you saw Steve from across the lot, approaching his BMW. You yelled out his name, increasing your pace to reach him before Billy could see. You didn’t want a repeat of what happened the night prior.
“Hey Y/N/N, how’d it go down with Billy?” He questioned, leaning against his car as you reached him.
“Fine. Can I explain later? And can you give me a ride home?” You looked at your shoes, embarrassed for some reason. “Billy usually drives me and he’s probably on his way here.”
“Yeah totally, I should have offered this morning when I told you. I’ve seen you riding with him a couple times.” Steve gestured you into the car, but not before Billy made one last attempt.
“Steve Harrington! Great…” He took a deep breath, most likely attempting to control his anger. It hurt your heart, he was trying now. “Listen, I know that Y/N is a little out of your way Steve, just let me take her. It doesn’t have to mean anything.”
You looked at the ground, turning towards the passenger seat of Steve’s car. “But that’s the thing. It always does with you, Billy.” You looked over at him one last time before getting into the vehicle and being taken away.
A few weeks had passed since the breakup. Steve was giving you rides to and from school daily, sometimes you even borrowed your parent's car and drove you both. Your friendship with Steve was growing, you were both becoming fonder of each other. Nancy was coming over a lot more often too, you had voiced to her that you didn’t want to be alone and that you wanted her to stop you from isolating yourself.
“Steve?” You questioned, turning to him. You were both in his car, driving to school on a chilly November morning.
“That’s my name.”
“What do people think of me?” You asked.
Steve sighed and looked back at the road again. “God, I don’t know Y/N. Nothing really, the break up is old news by now. Why does it even matter?”
“This whole thing just sucks because he’s the first thing that comes to people’s minds when they hear my name. He’s a part of my reputation, my image. I mean, who’s going to want to be with the ex-girlfriend of Billy Hargrove?” You were laughing at this point, at this sudden realization. “He looks about ready to kill every guy who looks at me, you and Jonathan seem to be the only people he hasn’t scared off yet.”
Steve was saddened by how you were talking down to yourself. He’s enjoyed your company a lot, more than he likes to admit. He’s aware that him having romantic feelings for you isn’t ideal but he can’t really help himself. It doesn’t matter anyway, his friendship with Y/N was enough and he didn’t want to risk that.
“Y/N, come on. When people think of you, they don’t think of Hargrove. They think of your pretty little face, okay? Oh, and don’t worry about finding someone to love you again.” Steve says as he parks the car.
Once you are both out of the car you make your way over to him as he drapes his arm around your shoulders, smiling down at you.
“And how are you so sure about that Harrington?” You asked him, sighing a little as you leaned your head against his shoulder.
He smirked slightly before answering you. “First-hand experience, it’s pretty easy.” He winked at you before walking away.

ASK US A QUESTION LIST
As a Winchester you were accustomed to a lot of weird situations including an angel you had deemed the nicest one you had run into during your almost twenty years. Being sent back in time to Hawkins, Indiana was bittersweet given that you actually originally travelled from the early 80s to the mid 2000s just after your brother died.
In 1981 when you were sixteen years old and living in Hawkins with your parents, brother and his wife you ran into trouble. First off John and you had a ten year age difference which should have given you a hint that you were half siblings. John’s father Henry was killed in the future as Azazel leaving John to think he was abandoned and then your mother remarried in 1963 when she got pregnant.
You grew up knowing about the supernatural when you stumbled into your brother’s father-in-law exorcising a demon and his wife decapitating a vampire. He took you under his wing to teach you the ways of being a hunter that Mary didn’t want to be a part of. You spent two consecutive summers staying with them using the surrogate father excuse with your mom. Your Dad was a piece of shit when it came to parenting.
The summer of 1981 you had plans to meet Nancy Wheeler at her place for her small sweet sixteen that her parents had invited you to. You never made it to the party, you remember hearing wings flapping before it went white and you woke up in the back of the impala with Dean and Sam upfront. Of course nobody stopped looking for you until they found Samuel Campbell’s dead body and the urgency shifted to finding the murderer.
“Home.” You showed looking around the familiar surroundings of the town you grew up in.
“Finally.” Dean grumbled, “After four years you’re back here.”
You ignored Dean’s comment to find the vampire that had somehow come into contact with a powerful witch. Like all other hunters and supernatural creatures the Winchesters were the people everyone wanted gone and sending them back in time to be killed was perfect. You were scanning the area for the vamp when your eyes landed on a frantic group of young teenagers. Both the teens and the vampire were just on the edge of the woods when you began to trek over, flipping the machete in your hand easily.
“Let’s do this.” You smiled to Dean and Sam before sprinting into the clearing just past the edge of the woods.
When you found the vampire he was hissing at the group with a hand outstretch to grab the closest human. For some god awful reason time traveling for vampires depleted their food. You noticed that one of the teens was older than the rest with a metal bat self modified with nails in the end. You didn’t think he would survive so you fluidly moved to kick the vamp’s knee off and sliced the head off the neck as if you were an experienced dancer.
“Oh god.” One of the younger teens muttered as he leaned down and gagged off to the side.
“Holy shit!”
“Not the right time Dustin!” The older teen said pushing in front of the group.
“Wait.” A familiar young boy with shaggy hair interjected shoving past the others to be in front. His eyes scanning you in a mystified expression, “Y/N Winchester?”
Not a beat passed before Dean’s gun was levelled evenly between the boy’s eyes with a furious expression on his face.
“How do you know her?” Dean spoke not giving a damn about how old he was.
“Whoa man!” The older teen exclaimed moving to step into the line of fire before your gun was aimed as his face too.
“I’m Mike Wheeler!” The boy quickly spoke staring down the barrel of the gun, “Do you remember me?”
You blinked at the sight of him before fully looking at each member of the that group with curiosity. You began to put the images of them if they were younger before lowering your gun to clench it next to your side. All of them resembling the boys that geeked out in the Wheeler’s basement over a game.
“Aren’t you supposed to be ten?” You checked dropping the dripping machete to the ground from your other hand. You ensure the gun was still in your right hand.
“It’s 1984 Y/N.” Mike spoke with furrowed eyebrows, “Did these guys kidnap you?”
“These are my nephews Dean and Sam Winchester from the future.”
“The future.” The curly haired one, you recognized him as Dustin with the hair and lisp, scoffed.
“I just decapitated a vampire and time travel is hard to believe?” You muttered shaking your head, “I guess Castiel didn’t send up far enough in time.”
“We never stopped looking you.” The older teen said.
“And you are?” Sam questioned with a hard expression.
“Steve Harrington.”
“No way.” You gasped looking him over, “Last time I saw you, you were a skinny kid with a bowl cut and braces.”
“You had a bowl cut.” Dustin chocked leaning over to grasp his midsection.
“Shut up.”
“I can’t .” Dustin laughed leaning on the sickly looking one as if he hadn’t had sleep in years.
“It was before high school.” Steve snapped glaring at the young teenager.
“It was freshmen year.” You chuckled the the disdain of Steve, “An impressive glowup.”
“Glow what?” Mike questioned curiously.
“It’s a phrase where a change in appearance like the Ugly Duckling that turned into a beautiful swan. It’s a twenty first century phrase.” You explained easily as Dustin began to repeated if a few times.
“That’s weird.” Lucas spoke shaking his head.
“How old are you?” Will questioned.
“I arrived in the future on the same day as I disappeared just in a different year.” You explained, “Essentially I’m almost twenty years old.”
“What? I thought you were younger than me.” Steve exclaimed floored.
“I was held back one year and cutoffs for the school year also leading me to be in the same grade as Nancy and a level below you. If I was still in high school I would be a senior but I graduated via online schooling.”
“Online?” Dustin asked.
“It’s not common in households or school for students yet but soon you’ll be able to easily search anything online but that will be a while away.”
“Stop. We don’t want to alter anything in the future.”
“Whoa.” Will breathed staring at you.
“How long are you staying?” Mike asked, “Are you going to stay here?”
“I don’t know.” You admitted playing with your fingers while looking over to Sam and Dean with a sad, confused expression. Each of them keeping a blank face to not influence your decision.
“Where would she stay man?” Lucas asked crossing his arms.
“The Winchester’s left two years ago.” Will exclaimed realizing the devastation also, “They haven’t came back since.”
“Do you know where they would be?” Dean asked intrigued on seeing his parents together again.
“After Y/N disappeared they looked everywhere before leaving town because…” Dustin trailed off wondering if he should tell you why.
“We know that Deanna and Samuel died the year she came to the future.” Dean huffed a with a glare to the young boys looking you over.
“John and Mary left for Kansas.” Lucas interjected.
“They had baby Dean too and all their belongings.”
“Oh and your mother left your father and it was the talk of the town for a long time.”
“Bout time.” You sighed remembering the harsh and cold man that ignored you and your mother.
“I’d like to know why you all were in the woods at this time and how the vampire didn’t faze you entirely.” Sam spoke after being silent for a while.
“That may be unbelievable and it’s illegal! We signed documents to keep quiet.” Steve hurriedly shook his head knowing that the kids would definitely tell you.
“Fake ID will be able to fix that.” Dean grumbled lowly already trying to figure out which person he used when he was in the 70s a while back.
“I’d like a shower. Where’s the closest motel?” You asked feeling the guts in your hair from the witch you had blown up earlier.
“You could stay at Steve’s place, his parents are gone for the next month.” Mike immediately spoke.
“What the hell man!” Steve exclaimed outraged.
“Like you have a social life. You hang out with middle schoolers and you girlfriend hangs out with Johnathan.” Dustin laughed.
“Whatever.” Steve grumbled further as he began the trek to his car.
Squeezing the water from your hair into the towel you stepped into the hallway of the large house that Steve had led you guys into. The kids were in the living room with Steve waiting for you and the boys to finish up. By the time you had finished drying your hair the others had been waiting for a good half hour for you.
“So you went into another dimension and a fought a demi-“
“Demogorgon.” Dustin interrupted with a sigh. He was tired of correcting the people outside of the D&D players.
“Uh meed I remind you about the Jefferson Starships.” Sam inquired with a small smile aimed to his older brother.
“Not the same thing!” Dean snapped, “Is there no damn hunters in this godforsaken town.”
“Quit.” You sternly told him as if he was still that adorable little boy with mischievous desires.
The room was quiet as everything sunk in for everyone in the room but there was something in the room that made you uncomfortable. Almost as when Claire had stalked up for awhile to learn hunting techniques and the dark cloud followed you everywhere.
“What monsters are there?” Lucas asked leaning forward with the rest of the others in gleeful curiosity.
“So many.” You groaned, “Shapeshifters, demons, werewolves, dieties, ghouls, wendigos.” You began.
“Djinn, dragons, rugaru, skinwalkers, and others. We’ve barely scraped the surface if I’m being honest.” Sam finished with a somber expression.
“Angels.” Dean mentioned offhand, “One of the worst of them all. Witches are a close match to angels.”
“Holy shit.” Dustin marvelled.
“Everyone hates angels and witches.” Sam sighed to his older brother, “The only witch we’ve come across that isn’t a complete and utter useless evil is Rowena.”
“She birthed evil.” You snorted thinking of Crowley who had nicknamed you guys as Moose, Squirrel and Chipmunk.
Before the kids could say anything a honk from outside was heard which in turn caused all the kids to groan in disappointment. Steve tensed up when he glanced out to see Nancy laughing with an unknown teenage male in the driver’s seat.
“Hey guys. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t say anything about us.” You stated.
“Mike!” A feminine voice called from outside the house.
“Fine.” They all grumbled picking their things off the floor and to the door.
Dean and Sam retreated to the rooms you all were gifted for your stay by Steve even if he begrudgedly allowed Dean to use his state of the art of the 80s shower. You hummed to yourself quietly glancing at the room to see the photos of the Harrington’s through the years. Steve was still tensed on the chair he had sat on.
“You’re dating Nancy Wheeler.” You simply stated amused.
“So?” Steve defended himself.
“Just seems odd. She chased you and followed you around for years before I disappeared but you never gave her the time of day. You ignored her existence.” You shrugged.
“People change.”
“Not easily.” You retorted thinking of all the people you had met in the future, “Now she’s chasing someone else while with you.”
“They’re just friends.”
“Yeah sure. That’s a long running cliche in Hollywood. Girl gets boy, girl realizes she likes her best friend, drama ensures, and hearts break.” You waved your hand over your explanation.
“I didn’t chase her because I liked you.” Steve interrupted.
“I know.”
Steve sat there shocked that you had known about his feelings when you were both younger not saying a word while you went to your room. Alone you thought about when you were still living in the early 80s. When you initially went into high school you had noticed a slightly dorky but more popular version of the Steve from middle school. You had known about his feelings when he would stare at you and followed you around but you never did anything because you were a year lower but older than him.
“Wonder how things would be like now.” You whispered leaning back on the bed.
Maybe you would have gotten together the year after you disappeared, maybe you would have plans after high school to marry. Of course it was wishful thinking about the past when you had a life in the distant future you were scared to leave behind.
For the first time in a long time you had a dreamless sleep that lasted more than five hours but it was when you woke up that it settled in. You were back in your hometown with your childhood friends and you didn’t know what to do. Using the items Steve had found you quickly got ready for the unpredictable day.
“Morning.” You yawned at Sam sitting at the table reading a newspaper, “Did you guys find or talk to Cas?”
“Nothing.” Sam spoke over his light breakfast and the paper.
“That sucks. How long do you think we’re here for?”
“Don’t act like it doesn’t matter you’re back here.”
You went quiet fro the rest of the morning until Steve and Dean wandered into the kitchen dressed and quiet. Each male had a different style of clothing, hair and ways to walk that it was a stark contrast.
“When did you get up?” Steve yawned pouring himself generic cereal.
“They get up at six every morning.” Dean muttered pouring himself a coffee and leaning against the counter.
“Wow.” Steve grumbled, “I’m meeting my girlfriend today. There’s food in the fridge if you get hungry.”
“Good luck.” You snickered at his retreating back.
“Shush.” Sam muttered lowly watching Steve continued to leave with a tense back.
You went about the day by watching old shows from your childhood and reading books you found in the living room. Out of the three of you, you had put music on using the turntable as you quickly concocted an easy meal. It was late in the night when Steve returned to find you on the couch in a blanket holding a small square object.
“What is that?” He asked sitting on the couch next to you.
“Something from the future.” You replied locking the phone and shoving it deep in your pocket.
“Can I see it?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“It could alter the future more than my time travel did.” You calmly spoke watching as he tilted his head to the side.
“Sure.” He chuckled shaking his head.
“How was your date?”
“Had KFC with Nancy and on the Hollands.” He scratched the back of his head as he furrowed his eyebrows.
“How romantic.”
“Especially when your girlfriend flees to the bathroom and comes back with red eyes.” Steve sighed leaning back.
“Is she alright?” You asked concerned for your childhood best friend.
“She said she was and she seemed fine after. I didn’t want to push her into speaking.”
You didn’t bother replying to him knowing that it wasn’t any of your business or concern when you didn’t feel like you belonged in the 80s anymore. All you could say was that Nancy should appreciate her nice boyfriend more than she was. Screw how she felt about the other dimension business because she was almost as bad as the people they kids told you about for leading Steve on.
“I’m happy your back you know.” Steve whispered looking at you from his peripheral view.
“Me too.” You whispered playing with your fingers. You weren’t happy though because it brought you to an important decision, stay here or go back to the future with your nephews.

Whatever the new monster was it was unlike anything the pack had previously seen before and when Liam called you had come back from university. Lydia had dragged your brother Stiles back to Beacon Hills when she heard about the near invisible threat. That’s what has you in the woods running from death practically.
“Use your scream!” Theo yelled dodging a tree.
“I can’t scream at something I don’t see!” You shouted back with a huff, “Besides your the one who did this to me!”
“I did not.” Theo bit back as the pack met in a clearing back to back. Your eyes focused on everyone before a scratch was made on your cheek.
“Where is it?” Malia growled as the group was pushed further and further to the back of the clearing before you all tumbled into a hole through something gross.
“I don’t know! Keep your eyes everywhere.” Scott replied scanning the surrounding area for the threat.
You gagged wiping the mucus like substance off your face similarly to your pack members you saw that Stiles had actually puked. You wretched a little more before calming down in shock of what was happening before your eyes.
“Guys?” You exclaimed keeping your eyes on the massive form in the sky. They all ignored you to bicker on who’s fault it was.
The form, shadow like and almost octopus in shape, began to move towards you in movement that was like it was floating and gliding through the air. The head was oblong and huge but it’s tentacles began to reach for your group.
“GUYS!” You screamed earning your brothers attention first, “We have bigger problems like the octopus shadow coming at us.”
“What?” Stiles questioned before your fist shoved his face to the shadow gaining distance, “Oh my god. RUN!”
You all took off in a similar direction pushing Lydia, Corey and Stiles in front of you to leave the rest of the supernaturals to protect. There was something in the air that told you that you guys couldn’t survive this so you shared a look with Scott and picked up speed.
“What the hell is that?” Malia yelled as you took in the appearance of the area. Material was floating in the air and it was darker than you had known anything to be.
The tunnel like formation was the only place you were able to jump into even if it was horrifically smelly. It was harder to breath down here also but when the sound of those monsters echoed through the tunnels you flew down into a large circle cavern almost. A rope hanging from the ceiling was the first thing you noticed.
“Guys! There’s a rope!” Liam exclaimed crouching to give support, “Hurry!”
Once after another your pack made it up through the hole and out of the tunnels but the monsters were too close. You shoved Lydia up further before flicking your claws out and getting into position. The massive amount of them stalked around you that you completely slipped in your control. Out came the banshee scream that obliterated the closet monster and when the air changed they took off running while another group had stumbled to you.
“Y/N!” Stiles screamed frantically searching for you. All you could do was stare at the teenagers in front of you.
Decked out in goggles, bandanas around their faces and gloves were a teenage boy about your age with four younger teens. You saw behind them that the new enemy in Beacon Hills was stalking up behind them.
“Scott! We have new people!” You yelled as your Alpha dropped back into the hole with Malia at his side. Both eyes blazing blue and red the newcomers choked as they scrambled to the side.
In unison you each began to claw and kick the enemy in front of you but it was stronger and more adept at the surroundings. Malia was thrown into Scott sending them into a wall in conjoined agony while you dropped your head before lifting it to scream and push your scream at him. Falling onto his back you growled deeply before the enemy shoved you forcefully at the new group.
“Ow.” The older teen moaned collapsing under your weight.
“Get out of here.” You harshly whispered at the teens as the fight behind you continued, “Liam! Stiles I need you to help these people out.”
Sharing a look with the male you rejoined your alpha just as the enemy was ripped apart by the monster dogs. Turning you saw that the older teenager and the one younger boy with curly hair were wrapped around the rope close together. A deep growl shot against the walls as more of the dog creatures flew past you all.
Once out of the tunnels into the cool night air you shared a look with your pack as the group of teens huddled together. Their gear removed showing their full features in the blanket of darkness that enveloped you.
“What the hell just happened down there.” The older teen demanded stepping in front of the younger kids.
“Why the hell you were you down there.” Stiles retorted with a deep glare. You sighed knowing he wasn’t going to be spending the next week talking about if we could trust them.
“I’d personally like to know why your wearing all that.” Lydia interrupted sliding her hand into Stiles’.
“This is the newest trend.” The older teen stated.
“It’s outdated. Who wears tight Levi’s anymore.” Lydia rolled her eyes before the curly haired one shifted close.
“What are you guys wearing?”
“Let’s slow down guys.” Scott interrupted sending a look to everyone in the pack, “I’m Scott McCall. These are my friends Lydia, Liam, Theo, Nolan, Mason and Corey. This is my girlfriend Malia and my best friend Stiles and his sister Y/N.”
“Steve Harrington.” The older teen nodded before motioning to each kid, “This is Dustin, Mike, Lucas and Max.”
“What were the dog things that were chasing us?” You questioned smoothly towards Steve.
“Demodogs.” Dustin spoke with a slight lisp.
“Demo-whats?” Stiles choked out with a chuckle.
“Demodogs.” Dustin rolled his eyes.
“Werewolves, Kanimas, chimeras, nogistunes and kitsunes I can handle but this bullshit. I’m so close to being out of this shit.” You firmly stated squeezing your eyes shut, “This could have been avoided if my idiot brother hadn’t decided to go searching a dead fucking body.”
“You were just as into finding it as I was.” Stiles huffed shoving his finger in your face, “In fact you were the one that wholeheartedly sprinted to the jeep.”
“I wouldn’t be a goddamn banshee!” You screeched at him. Your golden eyes fired brightly in the night sky.
“Holy shit.” Dustin muttered staring at everyone.
“You were born as a banshee. It’s from mom’s side of the family.” Stiles retorted, “Besides that asshole was the one that brought the Dreaddoctors and changed you.”
“I thought we were passed this.” Theo grunted looking up at the sky in frustration.
“Shut up.” You and Stiles shouted at the boy before you were each maneuvered away from each other before things got worse.
You curled into yourself as you firmly began to chant the calming phrase you had been introduced to after you were brought back to live. It helped that Scott was next to you asking the question.
“What are three things that can not be hidden?” Scott asked kneeling as your side.
“The sun, the moon, the truth.” You ground out feeling your canines retreat along with your claws. You sighed looking up to see Stiles worriedly watching your form, “Sorry.”
“I’m sorry.” Stiles whispered coming closer, “I don’t want to be the reason you have blue eyes.”
“Actually as a chimera I don’t think her eyes would change.” Theo stated moving closer.
“I’d rather not find out.” You muttered lowly.
“Theo you’ve murdered dozens of people and still have golden eyes. I still don’t trust your theory.” Stiles spat.
“Why don’t you go back to the FBI.” Theo growled stepping closer before Nolan stepped in between the three of you. He often faded into the background even after you all forgave the boy for his help during Monroe’s reign in Beacon Hills.
“It’s not the time.” Nolan spoke training his eyes on the hole, “We have a problem. I don’t think we’re in Beacon Hills anymore…or even in 2014 anymore.”
“Don’t be an idiot.” Stiles snorted.
“It’s 1984 actually.” Mike spoke confused, “We’re in Hawkins, Indiana. Where’s Beacon Hills?”
The pack fell into silence as you thought long and hard about what this little kid had said before each of you looked at your alpha. Scott’s jaw had dropped slightly at the truth the kid had spoke.
“I’m out. I’m done.” You frantically shook your head, “I ain’t dealing with this.”
You speed walked to the woods to lean against one of the trees nearly retching into the dirt as the pressure of the news fell on you. You weren’t even fucking born in the 1980s and you stuck here for god knows how long. The only upside was that Steve wasn’t all that bad to look at and his care for those kids was rather attractive.
“Are you okay?” The warm voice of Steve asked.
“I just traveled further in time than I was even born okay. I’m not okay. Oh god are scrunchies a thing?”
“They aren’t?” Steve questioned just as shocked back at you.
“Oh no.” You groaned thinking of the picture of your parents back in their mid teens.
Your mother Claudia was one of the girls well known for keeping up with the trends when she grew up. You had seen dozens of photos where she wore blazer jackets with shoulder pads, leg warmers, scrunchies, large earrings among the other trends that now seemed ridiculous. Hell your Dad still had his legendary fanny pack from his teens packed in some box that hadn’t seen the light of day since your family tried to help your mom remember with material items.
“Stiles!” You screamed to your brother. He quickly made his way over to you with concern painted on his mole speckled face, “We’re screwed.”
“I know. Our parents were kids.” Stiles snorted shaking his head.
“Oh god. Dad’s probably wearing his fanny pack right now.” You blinked shuddering at the definite perm your mother was rocking, “Do you think if we traveled to Beacon Hills we could see our parents?”
“Not a smart idea.” Lydia interrupted from his side, “Movies about time travel all share one thing in common. The butterfly effect.”
“The what?” Scott questioned joining you all.
“It’s where one tiny detail can cause a ripple in the future. If Claudia and Sheriff saw their teenage kids in their teens they could not get together. Hell if something slips that Claudia dies in the future she may not want kids to ease the loss and suffering they’ve had.” Lydia explained in detail.
“I need to sit.” You groaned sliding down the tree to place your face between your knees. Steve rested his hand on your shoulder albeit with the dangerous glare of your brother.
“I can’t imagine the shock you’re going through but we could use your help. The way you destroyed the demodogs and saved us…we could use all the help we can get.”
“Let’s kill a bitch and go home.” Stiles smirked looking at his best friend, “Come on Scotty.”
“Okay first we need to explain everything.” Lucas was the one to speak now, “It all started a year ago when our friend Will disappeared.”
