hurry, hurry (you put my head in such a flurry, flurry!)
( prints available [HERE] )
reblogs greatly appreciated!!!
process and commentary under the cut:
ok so w.a.m.s is one of my FAVORITE (if not my favorite) songs off folie à deux and since it was recently folie’s bday (I’m like. two week late but it doesn’t matter) i thought i should do a piece for it!!!!!
about the piece: this piece went thru a LOT of redesigns because I really didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like—at first I wanted to have a bit of a retro, 50s diner, mid-century modern look but that kinda all fell apart with the composition I ended up choosing (and yes, i could have changed the composition to make it work but that is seriously overestimating my creative ability tbh). it’s supposed to be like a headshot covering the waitress’ face (haha get it. bcuz w.a.m.s stands for waitress, actress, model, singer. get it) but also I haven’t drawn an actual face in SO LONG so that’s why it. looks like that. originally I wanted to have some sort of receipt or diner menu that had the lyrics to the song but ultimately i couldn’t make that composition work so I scrapped it
speaking of which, the LETTERING FOR THIS DAMN PIECE. oooooh i Talk a lot about having trouble w lettering but this one takes the cake—i could not, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, figure out how I wanted to make this lettering and I’m not 100% sold on it so do me a favor and just tell me it looks good without looking tooooooo closely at it.
while I work in black and white usually, the colors weren’t all that complicated because they are taken from the folie à deux album cover! in case it wasn’t obvious LMFAO
also ended up using a different brush than my other pieces so it looks a bit more polished than the rough, traditional art-looking vibe of my other FOB pieces—I’m not sure which one I like more!! what do u guys think :0?
some process pics (you can kinda tell how much i struggled with the composition and lettering here):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
about the song/album: I’m a relatively new fall out boy fan and let me just say. i did not believe that folie was originally so hated because it’s genuinely my fav FOB album. it took a couple of listens to reeeeeaaaaallly get into it but it is such a good album. like omg. THEY COULD NEVER MAKE ME HATE U FOLIE!!!!
cork tree, stardust, and folie are all probably my top FOB albums (do NOT ask me to choose between those three. i could never)
i also didn’t really like w.a.m.s at first but the second time I listened to it was like something unlocking in my brain. clouds parted, angels singing, trumpets blasting, the whole thing. ITS SUCH A GOOD SONG it makes me want to scream into a pillow do u guys understand me.
anyway, that’s pretty much all I have to say k thanks byeeeeee (and go stream folie!!!!)

okay so. ten listens and many hours of desperately trying to like the album I concur that it is mid asf. the production by jack antonoff is lazy and most of the lyrics are badly written. there are some songs i like though but I've kinda given up on most of the album. also I really didn't like how this album was literally just made as clout for the tiktok swifties to go omg poetry omg she's so relatable and for them to overanalyze the lyrics and go hate on joe alwyn. also the glorification of the absolutely shitty guy matty is until things didn't end well with him. I've liked her music for like seven years now and this album was genuinely such a letdown. Although, I enjoyed the songs Aaron dessner produced. i honestly feel like this album is a vent made into a cash grab where she constantly doesn't realise that sometimes taylor fucking swift isn't always right. I've disliked her lately tbh because of a lot of shit like the carbon emissions, the ignorance when it comes to the Gaza genocide, and doing nothing to stop the threats Joe alwyn is getting just because of how in her songs it's hinted that his mental health is super bad and he didn't want to marry her so he's at fault and also not to forget defending that absolute dick matty healy. Liking her and her music for so long has like permanently wired my brain to always defend her and her actions but honestly I'm so done. I'm so conflicted right now just making this post criticising her (and it feels wrong because I do like her older music) but it can't be helped. I'm also really disappointed because she was someone I used to look up to as a kid. Idk I guess this is just my breaking point.

Monthly Music 08/24 Hehehe
Albums/Multi Song Section:
Taemin released a mini album. Honestly, listen to all of it, even the more ballad-y fare but honestly... Sexy In the Air is a track EVERYONE should give a shot. It's what it says on the tin--sexy. Highlights: Horizon, if you like Kavinsky but want a kpop, energy-infused twist, try this out! (ITS A REACH BUT!!). Crush has some MJ-esque delivery that is very enthralling. Deju Vu is for the people who want to feel songs vibrate in their bones and in their [redacted]
Tinashe released her follow-up to the (superior) BB/Angel! My faves are No Simulation, Thirsty, When I Get You Alone, + No Broke Boys. Chill, alt R&B. Ethereal, sensual. Tinashe and Taemin should collab or at least do choreo to each other's songs tbh. NBB is a modern reimagining of No Scrubs
Foster the People is baack. BIASED REVIEW because I'm a longterm fan. See You in the Afterlife (oddly cunty??), Feed Me (cuntier except some of the instrumental could've been produced on Gene Belcher's random sound keyboard), Paradise State of Mind (Tame Impala knock off, mayhaps), & Glitchzig (discordant, extraterrestrial).
Fromis_9, a kpop group, has had a mini release. Here's a mini review: Supersonic & Beat the Heat have a throwback appeal. Simple, joyful pop with a non-obtrusive vocal power behind it. Talent wins <3
JPEGMAFIA released a new album and it's... beyond explanation? Alt hip hop with an amazing infusion of rock, gospel, dance elements. Dark, funny, slick as hell. Highlights: i scream this in the mirror before i interact with anyone, sin miedo (my fave, I think), don't rely on other men, vulgar display of power, Exmilitary (great use of samples), JPEGULTRA! (denzel!!!!!!!!! HORNS!!!!!!!!1), either on or off the drugs (one of my faves, absolutely), & loop it and leave it. If you're like "that's a lot of songs," okay well the entire album is good. 9.9/10 album
Recent Releases:
"Feel The Way" Peggy Gou. Just a solid dance track.
Ibibio Sound Machine's Black Notes is groovy and vocally ascendant.
"Leave" Low Hanging Fruits is Krock that feels straight out like... mid 2000s alt-pop rock. Just lively and lovely.
My blog title was taken from a Chase & Status song, so of course I need to shout out their collab with Stormzy, "Backbone." Just goes hard, is grimy as hell, and goes WUB WUB.
Want something that goes harder? Petit Brabancon, Japanese metal supergroup, is back and "Gankou" is... growling and intense and also just kinda fun.
Not here for music that might be a bit scary? "Edge of Saturday Night" The Blessed Madonna, Kylie Minogue is some eurodance to take the edge off.
If you like that track, try "Urallineed" by Jazzi Bobbi for some vaguely dancy indie pop. Love her voice.
This could've gone on the album review but honestly... Monkey Majik's new album is kinda Maroon 5-y and doesn't deserve a full shout out but give HYLMN a listen if you want to hear a fun, misremembered rip off of Blur's Song 2. Also, I guess the song Imposter.
"Check" by Flo is like... the kpop tracks inspired by Tinashe but... not kpop. Does that make sense? American, Fifth Harmony-esque song that feels like a kpop GG ripping off American Tinashe. A perfect feedback loop. Delectable.
"Out of Touch" Four Year Strong. Throwback, pop punk sound with a modern flourish.
"Nissan Altima" Doechii. As a Nissan driver, I had to rec this lmao. Great song, great flow, GET YA TITS SUCKED
"Tokyo" Sable Hills. Screamo :3 The guitar fucks
Older tracks: Keep Away by Carly Rae Jepsen (song to sway to), Bloom by Macico (the Japanese sound Harry styles tried to rip off), Thanks for Your Time by Gotye (dour and sensual) and Miss Fatty by Million Stylez (music to shake your ass to)
Posting this early because I know more music (Chungha, Bree Runway) is coming and uhhhh this post is already too full

Ok so. Ideas. Just for the Everything is a Lot album. Daymen is also here he is very important but his song is from The Normal Album.
Also. Daymen is killing off the remaining like. Sentient people who can make their own decisions. This town is full of dolls these are just the people he can't control.
6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro/Con): Richie Robin
He/him
Richie is a short, scruffy man who tends to wear flannels. He does shave, but his stubble grows in quite fast. His work boots are well worn. He has very dark brown eyes that look almost black.
Richie is a former construction worker who was laid off after Dreamville was built. He can't seem to escape it, but it's also forced him into stealing to make his way. He is in general an honest and hardworking man. He gets along well with the Henderson siblings, and is a mentor figure to Daisy. He ends up living with the Kenty's to keep himself safe.
Richie is the first to "disappear", after Daymen finds out the robberies are his doing.
Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal NY. (Bones): Sharon Christ (she's already here she's kinda the reason this whole thing is happening. Like using this album)
She/her
A mid-height, worryingly thin woman who is completely white. Her eyes are fully black. Her hair goes down to her mid-back and is straight, and she wears a modest white dress.
Sharon is the wife of the town's mayor and priest, Daymen Christ. She is a very soft-spoken and caring woman and tends to stay out of conflict. She's incredibly easy to get a reaction out of.
Front Street: Jack Whiser
He/him
A tall, blonde man who is still wearing his varsity jacket. He does look quite put together, like you took him out of a photograph. He has sharp blue eyes.
Jack is fairly young, and is a notorious womanizer. He's agressive, loud and attention seeking, and never sees himself as doing anything wrong. His girlfriend is Olivia Yesman, and he hangs around Kingston a lot.
He is killed tenth, as he matches up with Daymen's ideology very well, but eventually begins to change and better himself. So he dies.
¡Aikido! (Neurotic/Erotic): Daisy Meister
She/her
Daisy has long, soft brown hair she keeps in a braid down her back, and tends to dress exclusively in sundresses. She's mid-height, but a bit smaller than you think. She has brown eyes.
Daisy is Daymen's assistant at work, and he has been trying to engage in an affair with her. Daisy is incredibly sweet and loving, but she can be incredibly clingy and touchy. It's hard to tell her no. She is incredibly emotional and not very rational, often having intense breakdowns upon rejection. She is actually courting Franklin and they seem to get along well.
Daisy is killed third after she gets engaged to Franklin.
White Knuckle Jerk (Where do you get off?): Layton Kenty
He/him
Layton is a tall, greying (his hair is naturally black) man who always carries himself with an air of elegance. He usually wears a butonup with a vest and pants with a crease in them. He also has very dark eyes. Tbh he looks like that one fanart of Cecil Palmer I saw once.
Layton is a huge charmer. He has a flair for the dramatic, and is very sophisticated but not snotty at all. He is actually a house husband, he takes care of the housework while Haley is out of town working. He is the kind of man who tells you that you absolutely have to stop by and have some tea with him sometime. He is very weak willed, especially when harsh punishment is required. His bravery is bolstered by his relationships though. Franklin is his and Haley's son, and he is good friend with Richie.
Layton is killed fifth, along with his wife. You see they were both deviants from Daymen's ideology of how a married couple should act.
Cover This Song (A little bit mine): Haley Kenty
She/her
Haley is a taller woman who has her brownish grey hair cut in a bob. She usually wears a suit with a knee high skirt, but she never wears pantyhose because it annoys her, she usually wears high socks. She wears horn-rimmed glasses and those glasses chains librarians have.
Haley works as an accountant in "the big city". She is a dreamy woman who is often described as having her head in the clouds, but she isn't stupid! She does miss things that are right in front of her face. She is very loud in conversations, especially when she's excited. She is also very chatty, but sometimes she forgets other people are in the conversation as well. Still, she has an iron will and can be counted on for anything! Franklin is her and Layton's son, and she is dear friend with Richie as well as the Hendersons.
Haley is killed fifth, along with her husband. They also were actually helping keep Richie off the streets and Daymen was just waiting for a better reason to kill them.
Thermodynamic Lawyer Esq. GFD: Olivia Yesman
She/her
Olivia is a short girl with wild, curly brown hair she usually has pushed back with a headband. She has green eyes that border on brown. She usually wears a t-shirt and a pair of pants, but when she dresses up she opts for a longer skirt.
Olivia is usually very reserved, and doesn't talk at all. She is trying to be a perfect candidate for being a wife. She always just smiles when asked questions. Of course, when she snaps she snaps hard. She pushes herself past her breaking point just to try and be perfect. Her boyfriend is Jack, but she is also sort of friends with Daisy.
Olivia is killed eighth after attacking Jack with a broken bottle.
Red Moon: Darling Henderson
He/him
Darling is a mid-height man with a very short beard. He has black hair and dark brown eyes. He usually wears a lot of denim.
Darling is a singer who lives with his sister in the far end of town. He's incredibly poetic, and he's usually inspired by the empty expanse of land outside of the town as well as some of the strange goings on in the town. He's not quiet on purpose, he's just good at keeping his mouth shut to keep himself safe. He mostly just talks with Dearly.
Darling is killed seventh after approaching Daymen about his sister's death.
Lysergide Daydream: Franklin Kenty
He/him
Franklin is a tall, gangly man who obviously never grew into his body. He does dress pretty nicely, and he wears wire-rimmed glasses he is always pushing up.
Franklin is just as dreamy as his mother, but he is also just an airhead. In fact, he seems to be the least sentient of all the sentient people here. He is going to medical school. He really likes Daisy.
Franklin is killed fourth, right after Daisy. Daymen just doesn't like him.
The First Step: Kingston Boledi
He/him
Kingston is a short, stocky man with incredibly messy brown-blonde hair. His clothes are a bit stained, and messy. He has grey eyes.
Kingston is the actual town doctor, but he is incredibly prone to slipping back into his bad habits. He's very friendly, but he also is just. He's too much a lot of the time. He's obviously falling apart, but he doesn't seem to care. Jamie is his sister, and Jack is his drinking buddy.
Kingston dies ninth. Because uh *checks smudged writing on hand* he was sinning by drinking a lot. Yeah.
Jimmy Mushroom's Last Drink: Bedtime in Wayne NJ: Jamie Boledi
She/her
Jamie is a very short lady who never dresses well. She has chin length brown-blonde hair that's just a little curly. She has grey eyes.
Jamie is plagued with anxiety. She was the town librarian, but she quit after a major panic attack. She went to her brother for help, and he prescribed partying. This just made her worse. She doesn't really see any future for anyone.
Jamie poisons themself one night. Technically they are the last to die, but not by Daymen.
Chemical Overreaction/Compound Fracture: Dearly Henderson
She/her
Dearly is a tall, broad shouldered woman with very long black hair and very dark brown eyes. She usually wears a button up with black pants and suspenders. She also wears a cowboy hat with a chin string because I can.
Dearly is a park ranger for the wife expanse around Dreamville. She likes to compare herself to a rattlesnake: only loud when you're in danger. She doesn't talk to other people much, in fact she doesn't like talkative people much at all. She's brief and to the point. She's still the kind of person who you feel safe around, and of you go to her she'll let you in and feed you and give you a place to rest, she just won't actively seek you out. She does have some problems, just she's very quiet about them and usually just talks about them to Darling.
Dearly is killed sixth. She only evaded dying for so long because she kept to herself but. She was too outrageously different. She swag was too much her bitches too great.
Everything is a Lot: Gertrude Ophelia
She/her
Gertrude is an aging lady with white hair who is wheelchair bound. She usually wears a lavender knit cardigan and has a blanket over her lap.
Gertrude is actually fairly mysterious. She's been here before Dreamville even existed. She doesn't even talk much, she just watches. She loves sitting on her porch.
Dies second. Daymen finds her creepy, and she is getting too close to Sharon for his liking.

I've watched ABCD a handful of times already. I usually don't watch MVs, and it's not that the MV is that great (why are there so many outfit and scene changes?), but she really gives female Jungkook vibes. Some parts of the choreo are really cool and the MV reminds me a lot of 3D (eg. the rooftop scene reminds me of JK on the white stairs in 3D - they had the same blue sky in the background...). I wonder how well ABCD would've done as an English release. Maybe the same? She really has main pop girl vibes here, it's great.
Outside the MV, though, the JK comparisons end. I watched her on Music Bank and she just danced while lipsyncing. There wasn't much sex appeal or charisma or anything. And her dancing is a bit weak. The dance break is definitely unflattering. She still did great. In a lot of ways, she's a diamond in the rough, and has the potential to fly to unprecedented heights. But then on stage she doesn't wow - unlike Jungkook or other pop stars.
On to the album... I didn't like it nor did I dislike it. In theory, it's very cohesive and easy listening. Unlike the tt, it's a very typical Korean soloist album - very kpop. I probably would've enjoyed it a lot more coming from someone else. I'm not big on Nayeon's voice. None of the songs stood out. But it's much better than her debut album imo.
ABCD - 8/10
Butterflies - I think this song should've been in Korean. It also sounds like it would fit Jihyo's voice better? I keep hearing her in the song. Plus, the rap reminded me of Chaeyoung. It's an okay song. Sounds like a Twice bside. 7.5/10
Heaven - I like the song, but the feature doesn't add too much to it and Nayeon's English hurts the song a bit. It's a very mid kpop song. I apologize for being harsh on Nayeon. It's kinda instinct tbh. So many people loved her debut album and I thought it was bad... 7.5/10
Magic - I don't like Julie's part - I don't like her voice or rap. Nayeon's part is good. All of these tracks would be more enjoyable to me if I didn't find her voice so hard to digest, and also if the production was better. It just sounds like normal kpop. 7.5/10
HalliGalli - She sings this very cutely haha. It's an okay song, easy to listen to 7.5/10
Something - Also okay, easy to listen to. All the songs have the same vibe. Also, I swear I kept hearing Sana's voice!
Count It - Mandatory ballad, only okay-ish. 7/10
Overall, it's a typical kpop album, not matching the "boldness" of the tt and MV, but it's still pretty decent. The production and her vocal tone just aren't for me.

now that we’ve been sitting on it for four months i need to rank the tortured poets department for real… it means nothing to rank an album two days after it comes out like that’s pointless fr let’s take this seriously
guilty as sin. this is an insane song. unfortunately i read a book the week this album came out and this song is permanently attached to that book in a small part but as we all know i did my absolute best to remain chill neutral and only weird about tsc at the time of this album drop so it all balanced out in the end and none of the songs are particularly associated with anything cringe. except two. but not this one i only brought up the book because it’s a little bit associated. you understand. the song is a slay of epic proportions on its own of course. i’ve mentally made this one about so many fictional guys it’s crazy… we have fun huh
my boy only breaks his favorite toys. this one was my instant favorite she’s not going anywhereeeee
but daddy i love him. some people don’t understand it but i do… i love her…
the alchemy. honestly? who are we to fight the alchemy…. literally!!!!
the albatross. sort of like who’s afraid of little old me if it was a song i liked more!
so high school. what more is there to say than truth dare spin bottles you know how to ball i know aristotle brand new full throttle touch me while your bros play grand theft auto it’s true swear scouts honor you knew what you wanted and boy you got her brand new full throttle you already know babe…
florida. cunty! florence + the machine!
the black dog. aforementioned two songs. well we knew this would be one. like we knew that the whole time. what could i possibly have done to save this one… genuinely what could i possibly have done. we saved the album in time i know but i mean. we all knew this track was a goner. nothing to be done. it’s a great song though like genuinely let’s be honest… one out of 31 is a great ratio. april 18th me was expecting a much worse percentage tbh
down bad. i just like it :)
who’s afraid of little old me. mildly over saturated. but kinda deserved the hype she slays
fresh out the slammer. one of aforementioned two songs that kinda got ruined. this song is about cbs drama fire country forever there’s nothing to be done. it’s not a huge loss this song is a little mid if i’m being honest. i think it’s too short i don’t fuck with it heavily
fortnight. my husband is cheating!! i wanna kill him!!!!
the prophecy. song that makes you cry…
the smallest man who ever lived. crazy ass bridge. rest of the song. well.
i can fix him (no really i can). i like that this song title is formatted like a fanfiction title that’s a lyric to a taylor swift song…
imgonnagetyouback. like. cute fun song sure yes. cannot get it out of my head that me personally if i had asked for writing credits from olivia rodrigo on a song that sounded nothing like my song, i personally would not have released this. me personally…
how did it end. crazy song that makes you go damn her life suckssss for real… yikes!
i can do it with a broken heart. not even a bad song it’s just the popular one with swifties and i hear it all the time without my consent.
the tortured poets department. can i be honest. sometimes taylor swift writes songs that would be awesome if not for one utterly batshit ridiculous lyric that embarrasses me so bad i can’t even fuck with the song. this has happened many times she’s an embarrassing celebrity to like everyone knows this. it’s not even the “you smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate we declared charlie puth should be a bigger artist” that’s actually fine. it’s what comes directly after that. “i scratch your head you fall asleep like a tattooed golden retriever” taylor. 😐 i can’t. i can’t even talk about this actually. also i can’t stand the lucy dacus and jack antonoff name drop lyrics at all like taylor please stop embarrassing me….
i do not actively listen to any of the other ones anymore so i just didn’t include them because why would i rank songs i don’t even listen to let’s take this seriously… they’re fine. the only one i might describe as a song i actively dislike is chloe or sam or sophia or marcus. like i do not care for that one at all

So I’m uh…very late to the party with these bc I was really trying to sit out whatever bug is going on for me but I saw this the day it came out and was like WHAT????
youtube
I did NOT expect the previews to be released so early, but tbh I’m not complaining I was wondering when they were coming out :0c anyways, these were my initial impressions hearing the one in this video and the SIF 2 previews ⬇️⬇️
Ayumu - “Walking Dream” : Not gonna lie, this is not the song I expected to hear from this detective outfit but it’s really good - I like the bells and light waltz-y feel of the instrumentals,it’s not my FAVORITE Ayumu solo but it’s still nice plus it’s just the preview so idk I might change my mind when the full comes out
Kasumi - “Senobi Shittate” : You know what? This is a totally different sound for Kasumin, but I like it quite a bit - Not really my style personally, but the instrumental is really pretty and it shows a more mature Kasumi which is nice (and yes,I’m semi counting this as her black swan era too because of the instrumentals alone)
Shizuku - “Koakuma LOVE ♡” : My immediate thoughts are…HUH???? Like,I had a feeling that her solo may be cutesier due to her outfit choices but like…not like this and I love it so much,it may be one of my favorites so far :0c (but then again, imo Shizuku’s solos are always at least decent so it’s not that big of a surprise ig dndjdj - also everyone saying she swapped song styles with Kasumi is RIGHT omg)
Karin - “My Shadow” : If you look up “Karin Asaka” and put “having a bad song” next to it,you will find NOTHING because FINALLY!!!! KARIN GOT HER JAZZ SOLO!!!!! …ok it’s not exactly jazz more like electro swing but you know what? I will take it,this song is SO good - this one might be up there when it comes to my favorites too bc wow,I hope they keep doing this sort of song in LL
Ai - “Request for U” : Ok,so I was right about Ai getting a more mellow song than usual and honestly?? It works really well for her,it’s still somewhat upbeat and very Ai-y but like Kasumi’s,it shows a different side to her that I like a lot :] it’s rlly cute
Kanata - “Cooking with Love” : WOWOWOW my mind is blown with this one…this might be my favorite out of the album so far and my favorite Kanata solo like it sounds like a magical girl anime ending and I am so about it,we knew with that jirai kei outfit that she was gonna cook and cook she DID,this girl made a whole sweets buffet and I will eat every bite
Setsuna - “Cherry Bomb” : So the words on her merch WERE the title of her song, and boy is this song good too like…these songs were worth the wait - Hayamaru’s voice is fantastic,it’s distinctly different but still very Setsuna sounding,I love the sort of harder rock sound in this song :0c I’m one of the few that’s very 50/50 on Setsuna’s solos but this one is really good, they really cranked up the shounen anime opening vibes for her and I like it a lot
Emma - “Koisuru Sunflower” : This album continues to be full of surprises,I was expecting a slower song due to the outfit but am pleasantly surprised with this mid-tempo calypso-y song - Emma’s songs always have this sort of warm comfy sound,I feel like I’m relaxing on the beach with a fun drink listening to it idk what it is
Rina - “Watashi wa Magnet” : …huh this song is a lot slower than I expected it to be with the outfit, but I think it’s funny that Rina has gotten two love songs consistently although this one is more upbeat and bubbly compared to the more bittersweet somber sound of First Love Again, but it’s not really my style like it’s not terrible it’s just not a song I think I’ll listen to often ykwim
Shioriko - “Koufukuron” : Ok…this is absolutely not how I expected this to sound, like her outfit names were things like “Undead Celebrity” and “Royal Skeleton” - I fully expected this song to be kind of spooky sounding but no…ily Shio but this preview does NOT do the song justice,it just seems so flat in comparison to her other songs I’m kinda disappointed :/
Mia - “Lemonade” : The song is very cute,it gives me very 2009 Hannah Montana but like a good b-side - There’s other Mia solos I like more, but this one is alright and also some of the lyrics are a little…silly but it’s easier to brush past this time (looking at you Toy Doll)
Lanzhu - “5201314 / I Love You for A Lifetime” : And the most unique song title in Love Live goes to…Zhong Lanzhu! But seriously,Lanzhu really does not miss, this song is so good :0c I like that she speaks a little more Mandarin in this song, and even the general vibe of the song reflects that too. It still has her sound, but has elements to it that are new - She truly never makes a bad song

here to join in on the niki smut crisis
the countdowns are absolutely crazy.. the fact that people are like "oh hey as soon as he turns 18 its legal!" is mindblowing to me because, like the other anon said HE TURNED 18 LIKE 2 SECONDS AGO.. WYM UR POSTING A FULLY WRITTEN SMUT FIC AS SOON AS HIS BDAY STARTS 😭😭
even more crazy that these people are like in their mid twenties or some shit and isnt he like, 7 yrs younger than u.. 😬😬 thats the same age difference as a 11 yr old writing smut about him.. (borderline pedophilia cough cough)
also ykws even more crazy. one time like a few months ago me and my friend were listening the new nwjns album when it came out and suddenly she was like "oh yeah did you know ppl write smut about these kids.." and i was so shocked like what the fuck..? 😭
theres a literal tag on tumblr called "newjeans smut" and theres so many notes on the fics.. ITS CRAZY. and the youngest member is like what, 14 or 15?? shes the same age as my cousin dude like holy fuck... AND THE OLDEST MEMBER JUST TURNED 19 OR SO A FEW MONTHS AGO. this is still insane to me like i genuinely cannot comprehend how people think its okay ??
for me personally i say fics after they turn 18 is okayish but still borderline legal and kinda weird tbh like id at least wait till 19 or 20 sum, but countdowns??? wtf 💀 and if youre like 7 yrs older..??? um 😭..
no words, literally no words i am SPEECHLESS.
~《☘》
LITERALLY…. THANK YOU FOR THIS……. It’s so mind blowing to me that there’s even a debate about it like what do you guys MEAN it’s okay just because he’s 18? Have you not just been counting down since he was a minor then? What is wrong with you????
Also NO surprise about the nwjns stuff, those girls have been THROUGH IT since the moment they debuted 🤢 I swear nobody is normal about them and I have a hard time seeing any of their content purely because I always just feel so bad for them and how exploited they are. Makes me so sick when I see their fanmeets and it’s all grown ass men trying to hold their hands and gifting them some questionable stuff… like those are CHILDREN. These people could be the ages of their PARENTS.
Speechless all around. And especially that people are asking ME if I’m “excited about him turning 18”…. mf i’m excited for the day you get arrested ! BYE

my opinion on gorillaz phase 7 because nobody asked
kinda outdated post, but this has been in my drafts for so long now
the music:
i thought it was mid tbh
theres a few bangers like new gold and cracker island
but overall i am not a huge fan
damon's/2D's vocals are kind of off, there is so much autotune
the bad bunny collab is goddamn awful
captain chicken goes hard. should have been on the album
the art:
really nothing much to say, the art itself is really good as always
i love the overall pink theme
noodles hairstyle is fine tbh
WHY IS 2D WEARING THAT GOOFY AHH HAT
2D with white eyes is also fine, but his phase 1 design still stands undefeated
not a huge fan of green murdoc but eh
russel looks the same as always
i despise the album cover, why couldnt they use the promotional picture with the pink background
the animation
i like the 3d models
they look a lot better than the phase 4 models (god 2D was SO cursed)
i generally prefer 2d animation but still

K NOW *YOU* HAVE TO RANK MIDNIGHTS. AND 1989. AND LOVER.
ELLIE YOURE KILLING ME. THREE ALBUMS ????
i was born in 1989
new romantics - idk why but this song is soooooo addicting. the way the music sounds should feel annoying to me but it just feels really nostalgic and fun instead (which is kinda how i feel about the whole album).
wonderland - i’m totally biased bc when i heard the lyric about the green eyes i immediately thought of wolflet…
style - love the screambility. love the very unsubtle reference to harry. love the lyric good girl faith and a tight little skirt.
blank space - boyssssss only want love if it’s torture… dontttt say i didn’t SAY I DIDNT WARN YAAAAAAAA (so it’s gonna be forever—)
wildest dreams - i don’t think there’s anything specific i like about this song, but i remember only liking this one on my first 1989 listen.
shake it off - this song is. lowkey pretty good. my anthem in third grade.
i know places - do not like the intro but i do like her riff on hiiiIIIiIiiIiide.
bad blood - will forever associate this song with that concert moment. ykwim
out of the woods - archer vibes. makes me anxious.
clean - iconic but i don’t get how this is some people’s favorite ts song.
i wish you would - it’s. fine
welcome to new york - not my favorite but not bad for an album opener.
this love - the whiplash i get from hearing this song right before i know places??
all you had to do was stay - nope. sorry. i don’t like the high-pitched stay. why is her voice up there.
you are in love - not my jam tbh but it has fairy godmother talking to cinderella vibes.
how you get the girl - F TIER. BOTTOM OF THE LIST. THE LOVE INTEREST IS TOXIC.
you’re my lover
lover - i kinda want to tie it with cruel summer but imo it’s a little better. i love the dreaminess and simplicity and the BRIDGE is just chefs kiss (even though my heart breaks a little whenever i listen to it after seeing a clip of her performing it live after the breakup).
cruel summer - clenches fist with the fact that i will never be able to scream the bridge at an eras concert
the man - WHATS IT LIKE TO BRAG ABOUT RAKING IN DOLLARS AND GETTING BITCHES AND MODELS
london boy - as an immigrant this song to me is about like. finding your home in someone else’s culture. and also kinda exploring your own? idk i am so projecting but this song makes me think of that so that’s why it’s higher up than it should be.
the archer - the BUILDUPPP GIRLY WHERE ARE YOU GOING
death by a thousand cuts - even though it’s a breakup song it still sounds very lovey dovey for some reason?? whatever love the bridge (i keep saying that—).
cornelia street - STOP YOURE LOSING ME
paper rings - AND I WOULDNT MARRY ME EITHER
miss americana and the heartbreak prince - very sweet but i have yet to watch the documentary
afterglow - sorry for ranking this so low but like. is it really that good
false god - i don’t listen to this song very much but the religious imageryyyy.
i think he knows - very sweet but sounds too similar to cornelia street imo so it didn’t really stand out to me.
you need to calm down - it’s giving supportive white mom at pride.
it’s nice to have a friend - so cute but i wish they actually. stayed friends
daylight - how can i listen to this song normally anymore?
i forgot that you existed - i mostly listen to this song for nostalgias sake but other than that it’s. pretty mid
ME! - despite its low ranking it’s really not as bad as people make it out to be, it’s just that the rest of the songs are too good.
soon you’ll get better - i feel so bad for putting this song at the bottom but. it’s just okay
meet me at midnights
paris - I WANNA BRAINWASH YOU INTO LOVING ME FOREVER
would’ve could’ve should’ve - rips john mayer into pieces
the great war - insert bloody stick man meme
you’re on your own, kid - gut wrenching.
maroon - DO NOT. expect me to listen to what is basically an aged job red and act normally
anti-hero - this song is so funny like wtf 😭
dear reader - this song makes me feel like she’s my mom
question…? - once again in love with the bridge.
sweet nothing - oh, domestic love. oh, humming in the kitchen.
snow on the beach - I LOVE THE MORE LANA DEL RAY VERSION (also on my first listen of this album i remember not liking any of the songs except for this one lmao).
karma - THIS SONG IS ALSO SO FUNNY BUT I LOVE IT. karma is a cat ??? my mom hates this one though.
bejeweled - KNOW YOUR WORTH!! this music video is one of my faves.
high infidelity - taylor is writing too many songs about cheating. they’re all blurring together
vigilante shit - this song is lowkey hilarious like. girly thought she did something
lavender haze - good opener and it sounds cool on a record player.
mastermind - cinder vibes!
midnight rain - yk i never knew that some people thought it was about lautner? that would make sense actually. anyway this song is good but really mid as a title(?) track
bigger than the whole sky - not the best 3 am track
glitch - this is just okay??
labyrinth - sorry ellie i know this was your number one but 🥲

picked up the young love album by matt kearney on cd from the thrift shop for 99c, and its pretty mid tbh. I bought it bc i lovee his song ships in the night, so i wanted to see what the rest sounds like.. its enjoyable overall but its kinda giving andy grammer 💀 andy isnt bad but its that type of music that kinda gets under my skin after a few songs, but tbh this album is waay better than the average andy grammar song/album

When Taylor made blank space and shake it off and bad blood singles, it made so much sense to me. Wildest dreams a little iffy, but I could see it. Some of my friends said it was their favorite. Then out of the woods I was like ???? Weird choice but okay. Then in college somehow who wasnt a swiftie said "in general I like Taylor Swift songs except for bad blood" and I was like "wow non swifties do not have taste!!!" I learned so many cursed takes when I made this blog
omg 😭 honestly blank space isn’t a bad song, it was just way too overplayed and now whenever i hear it i skip it for that reason. i occasionally listen to it but it just got played so so much. it was everywhere. but bad blood is just kinda a bad song in general tbh… but i got why ootw was picked as a single and i love ootw so much so that’s what threw me off about your ranking.
also the swiftie fandom in general has had some awful takes sometimes. i’m not immune to that (ivy used to be my least favorite taylor song, i still think willow is mid to this day, and reputation is not that good of an album) but man…. seeing your march madness and my eras bracket polls has really made me wonder how people have taste in the first place lmao.
