Happy 36th Birthday to Hysteria!

On This Day in 1987, Def Leppard released their 4th album "Hysteria". This album would go on to sell over 20 million copies worldwide, with 12 million of them being in the United States. This album would also go on to produce their first ever #1 hit single "Love Bites". Though, my favorite track "Love and Affection" seems to be slept on, this album was mind-blowing to many rock fans of the 80s and even for generations to come. This album is forever known as one of the greatest albums of all time (next to Pyromania of course).

I listened to Face all day, which was very helpful as I was very stressed and anxious.

This album makes me feel so many wonderful emotions. It energizes me, makes me feel alive, and makes me feel hopeful. I recognize the darkness that the pandemic brought in Jimin in myself as well, yet Like Crazy makes me want to go out and live and dance until my feet bleed--a possibility that the pandemic stole from me. Interlude: dive fucking slaps as a transition into this, and makes me applaud Jimin and the creative genius that went into this narrative album. He sings with so much emotion that I want to belt it out with him.

As I've cycled throughout this album today, again and again, I'm left with a feeling of hopefulness--something that I've had trouble finding recently. I'm so proud of Jimin and the hard work he put it. I'm all the more curious about who he is as an artist and I can't wait to see all the promotions (performances, variety shows, interviews, give me it all).

I genuinely start tweaking when I start listening to Strangers by Ethel Cain. Like girl what do you mean he's handsome when your all over him? He is devouring you after he killed you. Why are you concerning about being good? You just got murdered. Girlie I love you but this is not it. What do you mean you don't blame him for loving you like this? He doesn't love you, he took you away from you mother and pimped you out. And that fact she asks if she's making him feel sick because she genuinely cares. Ethel, my girl, you deserved so much more.

happy seventeenth heaven day 💚 as always i am here to rank the album based upon my first listen (and only my first listen). cant wait to see how it finagles all around and changes by the end of the week; this album is everything and more like holy omg did they go so hard with this one

1. sos - ok i like the lil tech-y noises ooooo; i rlly like the breakdown into the guitar. this song makes me feel like i should be a in like a coming of age movie montage. (i would drive too fast to this song) but this song FUCKS. its fun, its emotional, its so quintessentially seventeen

2. monster - ok HALLOWEEN SPOOKY WHAAAAT. this song is hot. spooky and hot. whispers around 1:30 + me = 🪦. im obsessed with this song and i will be blasting it. also im hip hop team biased but also its just so good; one of the best

3. yawn - here i am looking wistfully out of my window and staring at the forest; if monster is spooky season, yawn is the comfort of christmas. it should be snowing and im in my hallmark movie moment. (also i dont think ive ever ranked a ballad so high)

4. headliner - this song makes me emotional??? not sure what ingredient woozi puts in music to make this happen but god this song is similar in the way that im just like …wow. life huh?

5. back 2 back - ok ok let em COOK. im loving the tech influences of this album; the break down here is SO GOOD FUCK. i want to be drunk as shit and just dancing to this under flashing lights. they need a performance mv of this

6. god of music - shes cute, shes fun, she makes me wanna be at a beach with a cocktail in my hand and a smile on my face; vernon and scoups rap section is so good fr i love it. i love when svt does fun songs (left n right shout out) this song makes me dance in my kitchen; only so low because the albums is just that girl, no skips

6. diamond days - SLIP INTO THE DIAMOND LIFE!! this shit is groovy—i would say pretty even with god of music; fun and a good dance beat. i think it just needs more listens for me to appreciate

overall there are genuinely no skips. woozi you have done it again.
