Hello!! I know you're more of a frog guy, but i was wondering if you knew anything about this particular pattern that ive noticed commonly in reptiles and birds?

I like to call it the Eye Line because, well, that's what it is, and wanted to know if it had any sort of purpose, like helping with sun glare or camouflage, or if it's just a fun quirk that likes to pop up. Thank you for your time :)

I work a lot on reptiles, though I am much better known for my frog work.

Yes the eye line is very common. I guess it probably serves to break up the outline of the eye, which is often a target of specific recognition routines by predators and prey alike. Also it just looks Fierce!

Also, some frogs have similar lines.
