Mom called me to tell me about her 'very trying day' where she and my stepsister had a spat because my stepsister heard in real time how mom treats her adoptive son when he acts out and so stepsister tried to leave upset. Apparently, my mom tried to stop her to justify her actions by painting her and my step-dad as the victims of their meth affected, eight year old adoptive son while trying to justify why they need to scream at and spank him all the goddamn time. My stepsister told her that mom and step-dad aren't allowed to watch her baby anymore and left.

Everything my mom says needs to be taken with a grain of salt because she will embellish and twist the truth to make herself look better, so I'm just uh-huhing and 'that's understandable', wondering at several points if I should just hang up because I don't want to hear about this and I never do. At the end, my mom must've had a moment of clarity and asked me 'do you not like hearing about this?' To which I answered point blank no, I don't. I don't like hearing about children getting spanked (beat) and I don't like hearing about how she handles her issues with this kid. She told me she needed to let me go as she started crying. I said okay, bye.

Fuck off. I don't care your fee fees got hurt because you realized people judge you for how you treat this kid you a) shouldn't have adopted and b) treat terribly behind closed doors. Stop making allusions to suicide over how hard this all is and actually work on yourself.

unfortunately, the united states of america is a two party system without ranked voting. third parties just don't win, and the polls don't care who your second choice is.

If you find a candidate that's more left than the democratic candidate, the people you might convince to vote for them are almost certainly people who otherwise would have voted democrat. republicans aren't going to switch.

which means that you're splitting the potentially democratic vote between democrat and third party, reducing the democrat total

potentially causing Trump to win

telling people to vote third party isn't going to get a third party president. but it might get us Trump

/ bc of bg3 I've been imagining the party as dnd classes so let's list them out

Xaos is a kensei monk with a single level in bard. The bard level is less for mechanical reasons and more meant for flavor, to signify his beginnings as a singer, however times of conflict made him pick up the sword. In terms of race he'd likely be a variant human to specify his everyman status but I could also see a dragonborn reflavored to look a lot more human, like the au ra from ffxiv, to fit with the dragon theme

Our second party member is Kyra and she is very simple, she's a rogue who subclasses into thief. She's a fairly straightforward character. I think in the very late game she'd get a level or two into monk to both show her admiration of Xaos as well as make her more of a ninja. As for the race she'd 100% be a halfling to showcase that she is always very small. If you wanna get spicy I could see a Mapach, bc she just loves her raccoons!

Asher was only a temporary party member but let's do him too. I went back and forth on Warlock and Sorcerer for him, but ultimately that his father being a great old one Warlock changed Asher and he was gifted the power to be a sorcerer, specifically an Abberant Mind sorcerer. You'd think his love of fireballs would make him a draconic bloodline but based on his actual origin this adds up more. After leaving the party he swears revenge against Xaos so he later becomes an oath of vengeance Paladin. Asher is either a tiefling or fire genasi, you could say the firey part of his bloodline comes from his mother's side who we know little about.

Next is Takun now you'd think I'd just reflavor an open hand monk into a boxer but I honestly think a fighter with unarmed fighting style works better, and I think he's a champion. Eventually however he'd class into Warlock, seeking out the Hellblazer demon that has haunted his clan for generations. Fiend Warlock who seeks out the pact of the blade with his weapon being a pair of flaming gauntlets. Takun has always been associated with tigers, but there's no tiger race. The next best thing is Leonin, doubles up as they're nomadic people like the Yukinda clan. I'd probably flavor it to be more human like similar to Xaos

Trinity is next and I went back and forth between cleric and paladin. My logic for choosing paladin is clerics powers are drawn on divinity, but the gods she believes in don't actually exist, her religion is wrong. But paladins draw their power by believing. She starts as an oath to the crown paladin and as Xaos opens her eyes to reality her oath would be broken, and she'd later swear a new oath, one as a devotion paladin. One of true justice for everyone not just the crown. I think her snooty attitude fits an elf the absolute best.

And the last member of the party we currently know of, Ryan. I wanna get his race out the way first, he's incredibly snake coded he's absolutely a yuan ti. I think he starts off as a conquest paladin but unlike Trinity who remains true to the paladin path, I think Ryan, ironically classes into fighter samurai. Now mechanically despite the name a samurai isn't reaaaally a samurai and in fact kensei monk represents that fantasy best. Samurai as a class really just represents a noble and charismatic warrior, it's honestly the best class to make a knight if you just reflavor some stuff. The samurai classing wouldn't come up until Ryan reluctantly joins the party, as an enemy he is purely a conquest paladin.
