big godzilla fan but i will never in my life interact with the fandom based on what i've seen on here

#firstly i hate all godzilla ships even mothra/godzilla #just because she's queen of the monsters and he's king of the monsters doesn't mean shit #second i hate those comics that portray the characters as silly and stuff #i especially hate how minus one is always portrayed as a baby because he isn't massive in his first appearance #or giving godzilla earth glasses or making him the 'group' grandpa #or just anything that gives them dialog really #i generally just hate blorbofication #third i absolutely hate king kong and i feel like legendary has really been pushing godzilla and kong being two sides of the same coin #and like generally the only actually good legendary godzilla movie is king of the monsters 2019 #2014 is boring because it's carried by an unlikable and boring cast #godzilla vs kong was just pretty alright #and godzilla x kong was a scaling nightmare with forgettable monsters thrown in as well #and they both fought sea serpents #and godzilla's was still more interesting!!#i have my gripes but i'll save them for when i review them #what am i taking about again

#fave spotting #edward woodward #callan #play for today #evelyn #bbc #1971 #single play #classic tv #shot in the middle of the two year gap between Callan's third and fourth series (and around the same time as the short lived variety #show The Edward Woodward Hour)‚ this PfT allowed Eddy bb to stretch his lighter loafers a little and to play something slightly less serious #not that his character here isn't almost as tightly wound and as internally conflicted as David Callan; it's just that while Callan is #wrestling with the morality of state sanctioned murder and extra judicial execution in the name of 'peace' or security‚ Frank here feels #inadequate because his mistress has another boyfriend (who has another mistress). it's a slightly pathetic part‚ a middle aged nobody who #thinks he's embarked on his One Great Love Affair outside his marriage only to find out that his (younger ofc) girlfriend belongs to a #social group in which seemingly everyone is sleeping with everyone else‚ everyone is beautiful and young‚ and crucially everyone is younger #more beautiful and having more sex than he is. cue some classic Woodward stammers and difficulties and needlings and general #unhappiness; he does it all beautifully of course. it's an occasionally quite funny play tho also occasionally not; the very ending has a #whisp of bleak ennui tho it's difficult to muster sympathy for Woodward's age obsessed loser. the play is also fairly unusual for featuring #a fair amount of nudity (unusual for 1971 BBC anyway); mostly it's Angela Scoular as the gf who's in a state of undress but for any um ahem #Eddy freaks (affectionate)‚ there may be a few glimpses of some side butt to be found here. i really couldn't say. i averted my eyes out of #respect for his craft as an actor (👀)#oh! and in one of the later scenes where he's properly dressed‚ I'm almost certain he's wearing one of his Callan suits (complete with #black leather gloves)

i gotta say, having to conduct a phone survey has significantly raised my level of sympathy for everyone who's ever called me to conduct a phone survey. god this is miserable

#nina.txt #at least its not a general population survey but rather targeting specific groups but still #so far it's been one third answering machines #one third people agreeing to being asked some questions only to be absolutely annoyed when being asked some questions #and one third grandmas who while being very nice also tripled the length of time needed to conduct the call #(and some regular people)#this is by far my least favorite task ive had to do for this job #also kinda sucks that another student and i are doing basically all of the work for this research project #yet our names wont be mentioned anywhere on the publication(s)

kind of hard to take a lot of the people claiming to be antifascist anarchists seriously when a solid chunk of them seem to think not wanting the state to exist means they are no longer in the reality where it currently exists.

Okay my kpop hyperfixation is too much for even me 😂

So I picked out an old kpop "book" (it's more like a magazine) from the library and given the information in it I can narrow it down to having been written between a very specific 16 day window.

Okay, needed context is that the book already dates itself to being very third gen just from the groups on the front and the publication date is 2019. Given that Seungri was still talked about as a current member of Big Bang, it already put a hard limit on it had to be January-Febuary since he left because of Burning Sun in March.

However!!!! The Neo page is the part that dated it the hardest. They listed NCT as being 18 members, yet also name dropped WayV specifically. WayV got announced as a group December 31st, 2018 but they didn't debut until January 17th, 2019 hence the 18 instead of NCT's eventual 21 once they debuted. So it gives us a 16 day window that this book was written in.

#i was contracted to play 2/contra but instead i've been assigned principal for both concerts with this group #which already makes me feel weird bc impostor syndrome esp because i know i'm out of shape #and on top of all that i've met the other bassoonist before but never played with her but i have gotten a weird vibe from her before :(#and she's heard me play a couple times but i've never heard her?#and i feel strongly about playing 1st on two of the pieces and i'm neutral toward the third #so i've offered to rotate for the third piece and since for the 'general assignments' i'm supposed to be 1st i think this is appropriate???#but also it is making my goddamn stomach churn fuck me #classical music is a harsh mistress #i am the worst #...... really the answer to this problem is that i need to practice enough to feel secure before the first rehearsal

#*while making a chart* third's lack of familial care meant he had to find his own in group and eventually meant supporting his leader #where later uraraka was raised with love that she would go as far for her parents as third originally would have gone for second #and still is inclined by nature to a supportive role- she has no great aspirations on leadership or power itself but in how she can help #other heroes (where previously how to help a ragtag freedom fighter group)#*continuing to make a chart* now Second's influence on Izuku could link to that early acceptance of 'yeah world isn't fair'#and i see a link in how Second really took apart his minor speed quirk to do more with it and Izuku's general quirk analysis and hacking #but where Second was mistreated as a threat Izuku was seen as a lack of one and someone to pittied even by those who looked him #which influence the way they react to said injustice though both are moving without thinking to do Something about it #(second having support of a group and Izuku very much not is the deciding factor between Izuku not going with the spider plan methinks)#and i think second + third having teamed up first like how Izuku + Uraraka met first is a good parallel with how Tenya is initially #antagonistic to Izuku but ends up joining both quickly when actual opportunity arises and he sees good things from them #and as Yoichi's somewhat black and white morality did develope somewhat specifically to oppose a terrible brother‚(i gotta finish that fic #where i go more into how they pushed each other more extreme to try to shut down loopholes) Tenya's developed in a way both supported by and #to support a great older brother which is why murder is a hundred percent ok if it's for tensei's sake #and this can be expressed by their different aproaches to making their hair look very different from or very similar to their brothers #speaking of hair that chapter where Uraraka did #a ponytail that spiked upwards? and third's hair? i see it #just as i see a connection when it comes to how she grapples and redirects enemy momentum to the fa jin power and connected combat style #also second scar = Izuku's ofa activation and tbh both could not care less about what their hair is doing dhfhfjgg #plus something about Izuku's 'gotta give ofa away' mode we joke about activating and Second's specific disapproval of him #man that self esteem deficiency sure can spread across more than one lifetime!#and of course. hands.#hands in the vault. tenya returning the favor to grab Izuku's #though the next step is to wonder about fourth but i do have an idea. wonder if we're on the same track about it again #pocket talks to people #anon
