"Leave us for a moment, Shadowheart," Altaire calmly says towards Shadowheart, who stood off to the side as Altaire kept Astarion pinned by the throat against the wall with enough strength to keep the pale elf from thrashing too much. Shadowheart wasted no time getting out of there, but not before she glared at Astarion for attempting to attack her, finally leaving the two of them alone.

Releasing his grip on his neck slightly, Altaire lets out a small sigh, "You've been starving, haven't you?" He inquired quietly, Altaire's face contorts to worry before finally releasing his grasp on Astarion's neck, "You need a proper meal," the tiefling states not taking no for an answer, now ripping off his glove before grabbing his dagger at his hip, "I won't stand by and watch you suffer while the rest of us have full bellies."

In one fluid motion, Altaire cuts into his flesh without so much as a flinch, the warm crimson immediately starting to pool and dribble out of the fresh wound—the scent being intoxicating, "Drink," Altaire gently coaxes, holding his wrist up towards his companion, "Drink until you've had your fill, but not a drop more, unless you have a scroll of revival on you."

[ THROAT ]: sender pins the receiver to the wall by placing a hand or forearm against their throat.

Astarion snarled at Shadorheart from Altaire's grasp, his companion's arm pinning his throat back to the wall to keep his head as far away from the half-elf as possible. His eyes were empty and fangs bared wide. He was... starving. The hunting had gotten harder in the underdark. He couldn't drain the animals and creatures here on his own during his late night hunting sessions, and had often come home bleeding, hungry, and irritable. He always had an ample supply of victims and, in the direst of circumstances, vermin and insects to hunt during his time as Cazador's slave... so he never realised that falling into a frenzy wherein he would lose himself in pursuit of blood was a possibility. That was, until he snapped at Shadowheart mid-conversation when she questioned his irritable temperament.

He continued to snarl and grasp at her for a moment when Altaire restrained him, before he blinked a few times and the haze faded from his gaze. "Ah... Altaire? I-..." he gasped. "... Shit."

So with the next chapter seeming like it's going to give us an update on Touya and the Todoroki's, I've been thinking about how Akane would be doing currently in the manga. Specifically, how she'd be feeling about Touya being in this state.

She's got a bit of trauma when it comes to hospitals and medically induced comas, due to her mother being in one when she was a kid and having to slowly watch her waste away over the years until she finally passed.

So seeing Touya like this would definitely bring up those feelings. She absolutely wouldn't leave the room unless she had to (Granted, that room would probably be akin to a temporary prison cell, since she was still an LoV member, but I think the Number One hero could pull enough strings with the police to let her stay there. Especially since she would cause a lot more problems if they tried to take her away from him. Endeavor owes her at least that much.), even though seeing him like that hurts. She'd feel completely hopeless at first, considering the almost skeletal state he was in before.

But this time, instead of having to watch him waste away to nothing, she'd see him recover and heal more and more each day. Possibly to an even better state than he was in before his fight with Shoto. And maybe, for the first time since they were kids, she could start to feel hope for the future.
