because if theres one thing my dad taught me is that men like him don't care about an argument. they care about winning. they care about how it effects their status, their looks, their smarts, how other men would feel reading those arguments. no matter how many times they say they care about facts and logic, they don't. they don't care how factual and logical they are because if you do that they'll try to appeal to emotion, and then it just becomes a back and forth of bad faith arguments until you're exhausted. you HAVE to stoop to their level. every time i won an argument with my dad it'd be like i state my fact and then i make fun of his side of the argument until he decides he'd rather blow his brains out then keep talking about it. it works

okay some people genuinely really need to accept that the ONLY "queer coding" in saiki k is when they make gay jokes. there is NO other intentional queer coding, and i think people dont understand that claiming rep where it isnt there is much much more harmful than you think it is... just headcanon! its fun! you guys act like youre going to fucking die if you ship/hc something not canon, so you convince everyone that everything you say is canon ☠️ its literally insane

theres a HUGE difference between a headcanon or ship having what YOU see as canon backing, and a hc or ship that is actually implied or canon...

the only ship that you could argue is implied in saiki k is terusai, thats literally it, you could potentially make an argument that yumekai could be reciprocated towards the end, satoumiya, or MAYBE mikosai, but im pretty sure thats it...

nonbinary saiki is one of my personal favorite headcanons (one of the only ones i pretty much ALWAYS have in mind when talking or writing about him, it's practically a given) and i think it has pretty good canon backing, but its not ACTUALLY implied.

hes FAIRLY certain that his biological sex is male, and all evidence points to that, but he doesnt know and specifically says that he doesnt know what his true gender is... he clearly has absolutely zero discomfort with masculinity OR femininity, doesnt know or care about his gender, and is comfortable with either sex... he seems very happy to just be either...

seems like pretty solid evidence, but you also have to realize that there is literally zero chance that the author intended for saiki to be read as nonbinary, or trans in any way, this was literally just an excuse for plot and to have a reason to take advantage of his shapeshifting to do crossdressing/genderbend chapters ☠️ i love to see it as him being nonbinary and i think it has a lot of backing, but its not canon or even "implied" at all.

theres a lot of other examples of this kind of thing in this fandom, like theres a lot of people who claim that kubokai are queer coded (its usually just a joke when people say things like "hehe my ship is so canon" but im talking about like... people who see yumekai and go "um 🤨 this is LITERALLY homophobic because erm um kubokai are basically canon and queer coded and you shipping one of them with a WOMAN is HOMOPHOBIC" lmfao) and i am actually just not even sure where this comes from because they dont have anything that can even be twisted into romantic subtext, theyre just a popular ship because they have a good friendship. which is great! but theyre like the LAST thing i wouldve expected people to claim as implied or canon. they are absolutely not. the only thing i can even think of that might make people think that is saiki saying they look gay in that one chapter ☠️

9. worst part of canon i feel like im beating a dead horse a little with how much i talk about how i dont like mgs4 LMAO i watched that "mgs4 was a mistake" video and that guy really makes a lot of good points. but i think the worst part is that mgs4 really doesnt feel like any of the other metal gear games before it because it lacks a distinct set of villains. and i think that makes it boring. literally they couldve done anything else. anyone else as the villains. but they decided to reuse concepts from previous games instead of coming up with the cohesive group of villains that makes sense for the story. even mgr follows the same pattern as 1-3, and look how fucking awesome that was! we didnt know who a single one of those guys was before the game came out and yet theyre probably some of the most iconic villains in the entire series. and they make sense for the story and setting. the beauty and beast unit MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE. NOR DO I CARE ABOUT THEM BECAUSE THEY ARENT INTERESTING AT ALL. i know pw and v dont really follow that pattern either, and i like those games much more, so obviously thats not my ONLY problem with mgs4, but its definitely one of the bigger ones. at least pw and v were FUN. 10. worst part of fanon im gonna be honest my experience with the metal gear fandom has been incredibly pleasant and positive. theres not a lot that makes me mad in fan interpretations. probably the only thing ive seen thats fucking stupid is when people take kaz and make him kind of?? the moral high ground???? in bbkaz divorce. no he fucking wasnt LOL kaz didnt leave bb because he realized bb was a bad person or doing bad things (i think he knew that already and didnt care. hes also a bad person who does plenty of bad things). he left because he was no longer treated like an equal to bb and he didnt like it. thankfully the people i interact with all see it the same way. if someone talked to me and tried to argue something else i would explode. or any of the dudebro homophobic shit. if youre denying queer characters' existence when its explicitly stated in text. youre just a fucking idiot.

17. there should be more of this type of fic/art i havent done much of a deep-dive into mgs fic so i dont actually know whats common/uncommon but i do really like it when a fic takes a character who originally wasnt part of the situation and puts them into the situation. writing them into the story while still remaining relatively canon-compliant. some of my favorite examples of this come out of the yakuza fandom, where the character put into the story is there for their own development, or to expand upon a part of the lore that doesnt really get touched on by canon, rather than the character's overarching impact on the media's story as a whole (because in order to remain canon-compliant they dont DRASTICALLY change things, but what they do/affect can change the meaning of what ultimately happens, etc). ive seen a few things about kaz lives and joins philanthropy and i really would love to see a long fic about that and how he helps them. i also really enjoy in-between-games nonsense. i wanna see all the shenanigans everyone's up to. post-mgs3 filler with bb and ocelot, 70s kaz and ocelot building DD, between 2 and 4 philanthropy. i love me some good fun filler <3

eren and jeans dynamic makes it look like its impossible for them to share a girlfriend but it actually? works surprisingly well?

arguing is kinda their love language in a very strange weird way. if theyre not fighting somethings wrong but their like constant bickering actually is rlly important to you three's relationship lmfaooo a lot of communicating is just eren and jean fighting and then you pick up on something they say and you three talk it out. plus its gets all their energy out at the end of the day... like when puppies run around in circles bc they didnt go on long enough walks

jean is the planner of the couple, always making sure you guys get tickets to see this that and whatever, always figures out how ur gonna get places and when everyone will be picked up, makes sure everyones schedules are free and that theres no big game release that you'll miss and eren doesnt have work and jean isnt volunteering

in terms of nerdiness jean is a decent middle ground between you (who says "ummm actually..." unironically) and eren (who thought dungeons and dragons was a kinky thing) because he lives with connie so he gets roped into playing stuff like rainbow six seige and watching battlestar galactica into late hours of the night. also he's an only child who was prone to boredom as a kid so he played video games like any other only child. that being said he has a more extroverted personality and aptitude for sports so he just never got as absorbed in it as you did

this kind of makes eren jealous tbh because he thinks jean has more to relate with you then him. but jealousy is like a natural feeling and despite his feigned reluctance jean is happy to share his knowledge with him.

plus eren realizes that what he lacks in video game and movie knowledge he makes up in anime bc jean is clueless on that front. once you went on this huge rant about how sailor moon would decimate goku in a fight and jean just goes "gokus the pirate with the fox spirit, right? hes trying to become number one pro hero right?"

speaking of eren eren and jean are on the same volleyball team (i hc they play volleyball bc theyre tall but i think theyd be cute on any sports team because im weak hearted) and you become their fave cheerleader <3 they look for you in the stands before each game and have their own little ritual for good luck. when he spots you jean jumps really high (despite the team captain, levi screams at him to save it for when the game starts) and makes a heart with his arms and blows you a kiss when he gets in the air and its so embarrassing so eren just dogpiles the embarassment but giving you an over exaggerated wink its the worst theyre gross

jean gets you into connie's discord server after you complain that people are really rude to you in online games and eren is quick to demand an invite too even though he literally plays nothing and has no idea how discord works. he will log in and ping you to show you a meme and even though connie's server is really chill with rules (like 10 ppl max, just some friends hanging out) he has always wanted to say "no memes in general" so he does it every time. you have to show eren how to use private messages once connie jokes abt eren being his discord kitten.

cuddle pile while watching movies... jean is a film buff so you three have movie nights rlly often. its usually you sandwiched in between them with jean behind you and eren in front of you so you can play with his hair. jean's movie taste is actually really broad and you and eren both find a ton of new favorites through him.

they both really like listening to you ramble. you can explain soooo much lore abt your fave series and theyre both really invested. eren is more invested in the characters while jean is more focused on what happens next, but theyre both listening rlly well and making sure you know they care. they kinda care in different ways though? while eren is just passionate and because he's so passionate he must know about all things you like, jean is either interested or just likes hearing your voice. of the two jean is more likely to give you short answers and he'll be more dozed off so he's good to go to when you just want to rant. eren is going to ask you more questions and get wayyy more confused so he's good to go to when you want to explain or flesh out your points.

jean finds eren's jealousy of fictional characters sooooo ridiculous. whenever eren is pouting about some new video game guy youre in love with jean is rolling his eyes because of course its eren jaeger he's just looking for things to get angry at. "what are they gonna do idiot, come out of the tv?" but then one day there's a character that looks a lot like eren and suddenly he understands everything. but he realizes you have a thing for guys with long hair. he'll keep the mullet around for a while

they both really like having you sat in their laps and (unbeknownst to you) in order to avoid conflict they created a system. cozy game? eren. reading? jean. watching anime? eren. watching something live action? jean. playing a game on your phone? eren. watching an analysis video for your favorite franchise? jean. just messing around on your computer? rock paper scissors, best of three. eren likes to hug you tight and rest his head on your shoulder while talking to you. when it gets quiet he'll nuzzle his face in your neck and give you small kisses there. while jean likes to put his hands under your shirt and rest it on your stomach while you two chat. he's puts his head on your head or throws it back depending on your height and kinda just likes letting his hands wander, like rubbing up and down your arms or tickling you lightly.

Sexuality Headcanon: Homosexual without a doubt (VERY STRONG MAYBE demiromantic, but regardless men-only) . It still pains me to see people CONTINUE to suggest that he could even POSSIBLY like women even if it were completely unrelated to their gender. Nagito likes men CANONICALLY. He was elbow deep in mikans pussy and he had never even batted an EYE. (in fact, he looked DISPLEASED more than anything.) I sincerely judge other people's character analysis comprehension if they even THINK Nagito might be even the SLIGHTEST bit interested in a woman. (also low that theyre letting a weird not-fitting character ship affect a literal unarguability for Nagito) (im wording this exaggeratively on purpose) Gender Headcanon: Transgender male. People really be widespread headcanonning Hajime as transgender just because of his fat tits but everyone is just glossing over how transgender as fuck Nagito is. He literally can never breath because he binds 24/7 and people are ignoring his struggle. (also because he has asthma) A ship I have with said character: Komahina/Kamukoma - literally canon. I don't think I'm swaying the annoying anti-komahina people (who are annoying. its more based to BE the "good side" of fandom yourself rather than to let annoying people ruin genuinely good things for you.) by being matter of fact and intentionally "im right your wrong" but komahina is literally canon. Though Nagito is the bottom of BOTH parts shut up Hajime is awkward and nervous but Nagito would just slide underneath him in spread-eagle Mikan pose. (Also Kamukoma is good and underrated pls draw more) A BROTP I have with said character: Monomi and Nagito- literally a therapy bot and someone who violently needs therapy (And exclusively dr3 Chiaki and Nagito but people never portray them in a way that appeals to me and ISNT a "annoyingly casual webtoon moment") A NOTP I have with said character: Komanami and Komamiki. Could you guess why? Though more seriously besides the sexuality issue I just dont think either of them would get together well at all. Chiaki's way of therapy/advice wouldn't suit Nagito very well, her way of thinking being usually straight-forwards and 'going with the flow' kind of behavior (AKA she doesnt seem like the kind of person who would always take Nagito's tangents seriously bec shes ditzy and she isn't the kind of overly-negating person Nagito would be better off with) -- Mikan however should be OBVIOUS WHY NOT. Mikan's entire personality is "shy and bullied person who is secretly very shitty" (considering she gets a power trip from making her patients dependent on her NON-DESPAIR). She is overly apologetic and insecure and so is Nagito and they would fight over who is worse until they both put themselves down to the point they BOTH just feel like shit (which could be humerous but not healthy). Not to mention everyone who ships them forgets that she literally jabbed one of Nagito's insecurities knowingly? (She mocked him for being alone/having no one when he is afraid of dying alone AND LIKE YEAH you could argue she was despair-mode at the time but like still sooo cute guys) A random headcanon: He is autistic with autism and im right and the fact that people portray him as neurotypical/just "quirky" is ummm? dumb?. General Opinion over said character: He is very misunderstood and misread and its annoying (though not surprising because the dr fandom is notorius for that). But otherwise he is a very VERY shockingly well-written character. His personality is very enjoyable to me and I wish that the dr fandom had the same 3rd eye I have and didn't rely on the fact that he's gay for his personality. (AKA everyone bases his personality off of that ONE sassy nagito sprite) I AM VERY PLEASED HE HAS BECOME ONE OF DR'S MOST ICONIC CHARACTERS and he is one of my most favorite characterz. (Also the people hate him for being popular/be like "ughhh hes such a smelly (asian slur) XDD" are annoying)

Rain beats down on the windshield of Kylo’s shiny black Mercedes relentlessly. He’s behind the wheel, you’re in the passenger seat next to him, the seat heaters on to keep you both cozy. It’s a miracle that the rain hasn’t frozen, the last thing you wanted to have to deal with was black ice, as you and Kylo make your way up the interstate to Connecticut.

It’s still surreal to even think you’re in the car with him, to think that you’ll be celebrating Hanukkah together. Go figure that despite you and Kylo being sworn enemies, your parents and his parents were friends. Something about having gone to the same law school, and coincidentally moving into the same lavishly expensive small town. It would only make sense for them to invite you and Kylo to a joint-family Hanukkah celebration, where you would be staying in your mother’s big mansion for eight nights – separate rooms, of course.

There’s music playing softly on the radio, Kylo had let you hook up your phone so your spotify plays through the bluetooth; a Hanukkah playlist you made just for the occasion late last night. You didn’t want to listen to the incessant sound of Christmas music, not during your favorite holiday.

“About how much longer do you think it’ll be?” You break the comfortable silence between the two of you. Kylo doesn’t have the GPS on or anything, he’s driven this route too many times to need it.

“The worst of the traffic is behind us, probably only an hour.” He shrugs, not looking away from the road.

Despite all your better judgement, you think he’s particularly handsome tonight. No doubt wanting to dress up to impress your family and meet the standards of his own, he’s in a navy blue dress shirt, with a black and silver patterned sweater vest. His suit jacket is laid down carefully in the backseat along all the Hanukkah presents that you’ve somehow managed to stuff into his car, and his Rolex glints occasionally when the street lamps pass over it through the windows.

You’re just about to tell him how handsome you think he is, when the car makes a strange motion that you’re positive wasn’t on purpose, causing you to frown and ask, “What was that?”

“What was what?” Kylo, for his part, doesn’t react at all. Or at least, he pretends you.

Sometimes Kylo forgets that you’ve had a lifetime of being able to tell when people are lying, and you don’t appreciate his stubbornness right now. He turns to glance at you for a split second, and you are already gearing up for a bit of an argument.

“That lurch.” You explain, gesturing with a wave of your hand.

“I didn’t feel a lurch.” Kylo shakes his head, the liar.

“Yes you did, don’t be difficult.” You turn around in your seat to try and glance out the rear-window, but it’s too dark, the rainclouds obscuring the sky. “Did we hit something?”

“Are you doubting my ability to keep my eyes on the road? No I didn’t hit something.” Kylo replies with a dangerous sort of edge to his voice that only makes you cross your arms over your chest and fix him with a hard stare.

You get a small ounce of satisfaction from the way his hands grip the steering wheel a little nervously, Kylo doesn’t like to be scrutinized, least of all by you.

“Well then what was the lurch?” You press, and he finally grits his teeth and shakes his head.

“There wasn’t any fucking lurch, (Y/N) – ”

You and Kylo shut up at the noise, your eyebrows flying up. For the first time, you lean over to see what the hell is going on with the car, disbelief flooding through you when you see the little gas-light blinking on and off.

“Oh my god you didn’t fill up the tank before picking me up?” You’re incredulous, when you see the needle on the gas dial all the way down below ‘E’.

“Oy, here we go.” Kylo grumbles to himself and you scoff and huff and smack at your thigh, because yeah, here we go.

“No really, you really thought we could just make the drive from Manhattan to Darien at rush hour on a Thursday on what was it, a quarter tank of gas?” You grill him, knowing that sitting bumper to bumper couldn’t have helped his cause.

“It’s a hybrid!” He runs a hand through his hair, as if that makes it any better.

“I don’t give a shit if it’s a hybrid or a gas guzzler you should’ve thought to fill up.” You’re immediately pulling your phone out, typing furiously into the navigation to try and see where the nearest place to fill up would even be. “Now look at us, we’re running on fumes. Can you switch it to the electric?”

“It’s not charged…” Kylo groans, his face burning bright red, hating every second of this. You blink at him, mouth already opening to complain, but he puts up a hand and cuts you off before you can even start. “It’ll be fine, I’ll pull into the next gas station that I see.”

Dismay trickles down your spine, when you see that there isn’t a gas station anywhere near where you are, certainly not close enough to make it on the couple of miles that Kylo’s Mercedes has left.

“I don’t think there is another one, we might’ve passed it before driving over the bridge.” You smack a hand to your forehead, Kylo literally growling under his breath at the news.  

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” He snaps, and his anger only makes you angry – because yes, you’re not just in disbelief about the whole thing, you’re angry about it.

“I offered to drive you know.” You start, and Kylo can already tell in your voice that you’re ramping up to something.

“I know.” He grits out between clenched teeth.

“So we agree, I said ‘I’ve got a full tank of gas, and plenty of trunk space for us.’ Do you recall me saying that to you at approximately eight P.M. last night? Or were you too fucked out of your mind to hear me? Why you never listen to me I will never fucking understand.” You keep going on and on, your hands waving and punctuating the air.

“I’m trying to fucking think over here sweetheart, I’ve got some schmuck riding my ass – fuck it I’m pulling over.” Kylo decides all at once, puts on his blinker and gets off at the exit that comes up just off the interstate.

He pulls the car to a slow roll, you frantically searching on your phone for something, anything nearby that would maybe get you out of this situation.

“My mother is going to kill me if we’re late.” You sigh, thinking about how dinner is going to be served soon. Your stomach growls, thinking about latkes and sufganiyot and brisket and and and…

“Your mother? Wait until Leia gets a load of this.” Kylo mutters, already envisioning the proverbial smackdown he’s going to get. And here he wanted to make a good impression, he can’t help but think how angry your family will be for putting you in a predicament like this.

You grab at his bicep just then, and he startles at the contact, it’s the first time you’ve touched him since waking up in his bed earlier that morning.

“Kylo, look I see lights! Looks like a motel, maybe they can direct us somewhere close.” You give him big pleading eyes, and as much as Kylo hates asking for help, he can’t just keep wasting gas like this.

“Okay but stay in the car.” He concedes, urging the car closer to the motel. It doesn’t matter that it looks kind of run-down, he’d give a thousand dollars to anyone who could get gas in this fucking thing, he thinks.

“Why?” You frown, not liking the thought of sitting alone in the car.

“It’s cold and wet and I don’t want you bitching about the weather.” Kylo grumbles, “Stay in here where it’s warm, I’ll keep the engine running.”

What he really means is, I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.

He doesn’t say that, but you hear it anyway, so when he parks in the lot outside the Motel, you do as he asks.

You don’t have to wait for him for very long, because about fifteen minutes later he comes back with a little key-card in his hand that you eye suspiciously.

“So.” He gets back in the car, closing his umbrella and sticking it in a bag before chucking it in the back seat. “There isn’t another gas station.”

“Do we have enough to double back to the one just before the border?” You wonder, trying to do the math for how far away that is, but Kylo beats you to it.

“No. I got us a room for tonight – ” He starts, holding up the key card, and you feel the hot sting of tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, frustrated and sad about this whole nightmare.

“We can’t stay, it’s the first night of Hanukkah!” You complain, leaning forward and crossing your arms on the dash, burying your face in the crook of your elbow in defeat.

“I know, I know we can’t stay, but we can’t keep driving either. I’ve already called your mother, she’s going to drive over in the morning with some gallon cannisters and fill us up enough so we can make the rest of the way.” Kylo smooths a comforting hand across your back, and you peer up at him just a peek through your sweater sleeve.

“You called my mother?” You arch a brow at him, knowing how prickly he can be when he’s irritated.

“Yes, I was very polite I’ll have you know.” He seems to read your mind, and untangles you to gently push you sitting upright again, “Come, lets go get settled in the room, I’ve got a pounding fucking headache and I just want to go to sleep.”

 The room is…well. It leaves much to be desired, that’s for sure. It’s not bad, certainly not the worst place you’ve ever stayed, but it’s not really much else than a bed, a television, a couple dressers and a bathroom. Which is fine, considering you plan on staying for less than 12 hours, but…but you really wish you could be with your family.

Kylo is none too pleased about the situation either, which makes it at least a little better. He refuses to take anything out of his suitcase, not wanting to get his suits soiled by the mediocrity of the motel room. You don’t blame him, honestly. You do, however, take a couple things out of your suitcase. It’s just about seven o’clock, and you know that the sun would be set by now if the rain clouds weren’t here, so you pull the curtain windows open and set your menorah down on the windowsill.

“What are you doing?” Kylo blinks from the bathroom, standing in his boxers and undershirt.

“What does it look like I’m doing? I’m lighting the candles.” You hold up the little box of matches and the shamash.

“You brought a menorah with you?” He comes over to where you’re standing, drapes his body against your back, his arms wrapping around your middle.

“Mhm, it’s the one I got on my very first Hanukkah when I was a baby.” You nod, lifting it up to show him, “My mother gave it to me when I moved, so I’d always have a piece of home with me. I always light it along with the others when we get together to celebrate.”

“That’s very sweet.” Kylo grumbles, pretending not to be as affected by this whole thing as he really is. Kylo had wanted to be with his family too.

“Well?” You nudge him expectantly, as you strike a match and light the Shamash.

“Well what?” Kylo frowns, making you smile tiredly at him over your shoulder.

“Are you going to say the prayers or not?” You prompt, and he swallows.

Kylo hugs you tighter around your middle, his cheek resting against yours as he clears his throat and starts the first of the three prayers.

“Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tsivanu l’hadlik ner shel Hanukkah.” Kylo’s voice is deep and the baritone spreads through your whole body as he cocoons you in his arms.

You lean back against his chest, watching the flame share with the first night’s candle, the two of you huddled together as the heater in the motel room cranks to life. He chuckles, and you chuckle, and the whole thing is so fucking ridiculous.

-"almost as fun as a real fight" why do i believe him? lmaoooo a bit weird that he would enjoy a fight w a partner, but i also think this is an acknowledgement of nancy being an "opponent" who exists at his level. but i also love the "let me take you out" as a direct mirror of her relationship with nick, where she avoids the public acknowledgment/"going out" but prefers the more subtle/hidden arrangements of staying in. but as shown with later eps, owen is way more capable of meeting nancy where shes at, which is so important to her + the only way of getting close to nancy. (the only foil is ace who somehow is able to do both)

-"not always about a guy" <---- this could have been such a powerful statement if the show had thought having nancy end up alone/choose herself instead of pitting her between love interests (nick, owen, gil, even potentially ace, in only 2 seasons) was a more worthy stance to take ; as an aro/ace person i cant tell you how much i would kill to see just one female protag choose herself over a man. and its more realistic to end up alone than have a happy ending anyway, for all that these shows try to be as "real" and gritty grimdark as possible

-"is that what you want?" this is an interesting question to his mother- like maybe he senses her unhappiness? combined with his issues with his father- still trying to look out for his mom? either way it's sweet. (it could also potentially work as foreshadowing of something happening to her, but i think that was played with but then diverted when it was revealed who really killed her) "i think its time i steer this ship" still kind of patriarchal tho. i get that its him coming into his own as a dad technically but still. i also like how he calls her "mother" and not mom

what was your favorite part, 1 or 2?

Honestly I loved both parts, but I’d say I loved part two just a little bit more for the time that James wasn’t under the curse anymore and LOVED Cordelia

which scene in the book was your favorite?

EVERY scene that had Matthew and James being wholesome parabatai in it!!! my favourite chapter in this book was Blue Ruin, the one after Grace takes the bracelet back from James  (aside from the whispering room ofc).

what scene (or scenes) made you cry the most?

ok ngl i didnt spend much of this book crying, but the only scene that actually made me tear up was when james was dying and matthew could feel it and jesse (WHO I FUCKING LOVED MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD) gave him his last breath :(((((

what scenes were unsatisfactory?

there were not enough Christopher scenes (but to be fair, even if the entire book was just Christopher it still wouldnt be enough for me)

also no offense to james bc he was my first actual fictional crush after reading TMH/NBS but like whenever he talked about being in grace i would literally zone out lol the bracelet curse makes him so boring but whenever he isnt in the curse/ is with someone who is NOT grace i just!! love him!!

what disappointed you?

cassie honestly had me kinda shipping matthew/cordelia for a solid FIVE SECONDS there when he stepped in to dance with her after james left her standing there, but that was one of the only scenes that made me feel like they had natural chemistry (along with the scene where he drops her off at her house). I felt like the during the rest of their interactions in the book, cordelia was kind of uncomfortable, which made me really sad because even tho she has every right to feel that way, i felt bad for matthew. I kind of want him to fall for someone else completely and for it to be reciprocated. also, i just really want for matthew and cordelia to become good friends because i feel like they could have such great natural chemistry if matthew didnt love her.

ok there’s quite a few things here so bear w me babes:

- James genuinely loving cordelia from the start. I wasn’t expecting him to naturally feel nothing for grace at all, so i was expecting a slow burn jordelia, but finding out that he actually loves her makes me so happy but the end where cordelia thinks he was just pretending breaks my heart :(((

-matthew liking cordelia lol definitely was not expecting another parabatai love triangle but i hope it doesnt last. i do think it adds to the plot and i love it, it just hurts to see matthew so emo :(((

-I was expecting to like cordelia as a character, but i ended up LOVING her so fucking much???? she’s so three dimensional to me, and it’s interesting to see how her personality adapts around different characters as people adapt around different social circles irl

-liking jesse as much as i did

-ok so james’ entire character was a surprise to me. it’s so fascinating to see how the bracelet actually affected his personality.If you recall him in The Midnight Heir from TBC. he’s like an entirely different person. i still loved him in TMH but i went into CHOG thinking that if he was gonna be like that the entire time i’d probably get over him really quickly. i was pleasantly surprised by how much i ended up loving him even more tho

-i didn’t expect oliver hayward to die and im going to stay emo about it

- Christopher is so much more clear headed than he was made out to be prior?? like there were so many scenes where he was fully there and when he defended anna to alastair i just kfdsnfkld i love him

are there characters that you didn’t like before that you like now?

yikes umm... Alastair, maybe? he’s somewhat okay to me now, I dont dislike him as much as I used to. ooh and Hypatia Vex. the only scene i remember liking her in QOAAD was when she helped out kit, ty and dru (me, going a whole TSC post without somehow mentioning kit? not possible)

are there characters that you liked before that you don’t like now?

I started CHOG ready to give Grace the benefit of the doubt, and I was surprised by how timid and shy she seemed at the start, but it was interesting to see how it was all an act and how she doesn’t have an actual personality yet. one could argue that she actually does love james, but i doubt it at this point. i dont hate her yet, even tho she IS fucking up james’ life, but she’s on thin fucking ice.

who was your favorite new character?

does new character mean completely new or just never been in a novella new? because for the first, it would be Cordelia (i LOVE her sm!!) and other wise it would be james, matthew and co. also!!! jesse!!

what places in the book would you like to visit?

that hell dimension sounds pretty lit ngl

did you like the ending?

ok so. we KNOW that jordelia is gonna be endgame. cassandra clare always takes the hardest path to get there, but when has she not delivered? it’s just a matter of waiting. so, yes, i did like the ending in sense of the plot because it was a great twist, but i also feel really bad for all of them even tho ik they’re eventually gonna be together :(((

what did you think of the epilogue?

i wasnt surprised, since we alr know that Tatiana is shady asf, but i just really wanna know how she partnered up with a GREATER demon like lol wtf. again, im really happy in terms of plot with this

what are your thoughts on the engagement?

i feel so. fucking bad. for cordelia. and james too, even tho he’s under the bracelet’s curse so he doesnt even KNOW he’s being manipulated. but i love how even through the curse, james still loves cordelia in his own way.

what did you want to see that didn’t happen?

oh I'll give u a character alright: Izuki, Kiyoshi, Riko and Aomine <333 technically that's four, but what goes around comes around (I'll keep this circle of love goin forever buddy)

Izuki

Why I like them: izuki’s just overall so amazing! he inspires me to give my best in the stuff i do, and although it sounds a bit silly i try to be a person that he’d be proud of. his puns are hilarious and well-thought-out (as a person who loves words and word jokes, i’m naturally drawn to him lol). they’re also a way to take the heat off the team, he’s so hardworking and never views obstacles as obstacles, rather as hills he must climb to find newer skies. he’s also rather clever and employs his brains to great effect when his body fails him! izuki embodies the meaning of ‘eagle’ in the truest sense - waiting to strike when the time is right and not failing when it is.

Why I don’t: *sweats* can’t really think of a reason i don’t like izuki, at all??? i guess he can overwork himself a lot and tends to keep his true emotions hidden which could lead to misunderstandings between friends (although this is totally headcanon territory lol)... i also didn’t like the ableist comment he passed on hayama (“i’m just glad you weren’t smarter than me”). but i think he can (and will!) grow from that kind of stuff, he is that kind of person so yeah no particular reason for me to dislike him at all

Favorite episode (scene if movie): how dare you make me pick s3 e8 izuki vs kasamatsu, hands down. i know its like cliche or whatever but that moment just told me so much about izuki as a character? he’s willing to do what it takes to win, he’s adaptable and dependable and he doesn’t let shit get him down ever. it’s gorgeous

Favorite season/movie: s3, he got some fantastic moments in there!! although i will say i loved the spotlighting he got in s1 in the seihō match

Favorite line: “Fear isn't a bad thing. There are some things that can only be done by cowards.” this is first of all such a nice thing to say. ‘fear is not bad’ is just... so fucking wise? keep in mind that this boy is 17, i’ve met 30 year olds who are less mature. secondly it feels like izu’s speaking from experience?? like he has a lot to be scared of, i’m sure. particularly of falling behind and being a burden to his teammates. but it’s that ‘cowardice’ that drives him to practice so so hard. that visceral terror of weighing on seirin is what pushes izuki beyond his limits - which is why here he can empathise with furi’s fear, and knows how best to employ it.

Favorite outfit: look i hate last game w/ a passion but that lil tie/shirt/hoodie thing he had going? that was literally so cute. izuki in general has a p great fashion sense but his last game outfit takes the cake <3

OTP: hyuuizu oh my god i could talk for years about them but since this post is gonna be very long i’ll refrain. just. they are perfect they are fucking perfect

Brotp: kiyoizu!! kiyoshi is izuki’s biggest enabler and i love that for him <3

Head Canon: izuki can be very very passive aggressive when he’s angry at someone/sad and gets cold and withdrawn. it’s not fun to experience but tbh if you upset him you probably deserve it

Unpopular opinion: izuki should’ve been naturally better in canon. it’s not fair to shaft him and give the ‘trier’ thing off to himuro. that being said i am p happy with who he is as a person

A wish: i want to know how izuki felt after middle school! izuki’s and riko’s backstory focuses so much on hyuuga its dumb >:( he also would’ve been demoralised but he didn’t quit bball and i would like to know his thought process!

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: i. uh. i guess izu quitting basketball. because i genuinely cannot see that happening. it brings him so much joy, he should never stop cold turkey. i can imagine old man izuki hobbling about a court giving little kids pointers and making them laugh T-T

Kiyoshi

Why I like them: lots of reasons! kiyoshi is an admirable person. he’s strong, yet friendly and gentle, and he loves his team above all else, which i just find beautiful. i find his manipulative side also pretty cool, bc it shows off how multifaceted he is.

Why I don’t: this is more of a fandom reason but i really dislike how kiyoshi is always said to have had the greatest impact in hyuuga’s story. he badgered and manipulated hyuuga, and while some may argue hyuuga needed that push, it only worked bc hyuuga had had time to think about shit. he’d also been given space by riko and izuki (two integral parts of his life whom the fandom looooves to sideline for uwu kiyo//hyuu). 

Favorite episode (scene if movie): yousen match (can’t pick the episodes)! i loved the backstory we got for kiyo vs mura and i loved how kiyoshi was willing to smile and play but also refused to lose. he truly stole the show despite kagami being the one to finally take down murasakibara, it was gorgeous <3

Favorite season/movie: s2 for sure. kiyoshi wasn’t allowed to shine much after yousen imo - all the focus was on hyuuga kagami and kuroko, and to a lesser extent izuki. not complaining, but yeah

Favorite line: “Let’s go have some fun.” i know it’s kinda cliche but i do love how kiyoshi’s always thinking about playing a good game and enjoying basketball. he wants to play because he loves it and as someone who loves a sport as much as kiyoshi loves b-ball, that love is so poignant and tender

Favorite outfit: practice clothes! kiyoshi looks great in pink <3

A wish: kiyo finds something he loves as much as b-ball. he can’t canonically play at this level again, so if he found another sport/competition/anything, it’d be amazing

Why I like them: im a lesbian, next. /j i love her because she’s so tenacious and driven. yet she’s also kind and gentle, and never loses her humanity. she cares, and she cares hard. she’s so fucking smart too like... coaching a hs basketball team at 17 against players of NBA calibre and making them win? i could never. seirin without riko is nothing.

Why I don’t: i dont like the constant slapstick of her beating up her boys. also, i dislike how the narrative forces her to act ‘feminine’ and then has the boys think of it as nothing. like first of all if someone like her offered me a kiss i would so take 100, and secondly... why is a girl’s worth so tied to her femininity? it’s awful

Favorite episode (scene if movie): her sending in furi vs kaijō, early in s3. it was an exceedingly smart move that could have only come from her knowing her players’ strengths and weaknesses intimately, and being a brilliant coach. just amazing <3

tldr: i played tw3 and liked it, then read the books

i got into the witcher because one of my favorite gaming youtubers was doing a playthrough of tw3 on youtube in around i think september 2017. i liked this specific gaming youtuber for being shit at games and not caring about it... but tw3 was a different game. it felt like the decisions mattered, that there was an actual story here, that when this youtuber made shitty decisions and didn’t really care about the characters involved, i got frustrated because this game seemed really good... so i picked up the game myself and played it though, it was magnificent. not to r/witcher “the witcher 3 is literally the best game created in this history of ever” but it was sincerely good... not only does it have a great story, characters, and graphics, but it is genuinely comfortable to play as a game, even if you’re not great at games (i like playing video games but i’m not good at them when it comes to combat, i literally just would prefer to hack and slash through). so, i played through tw3 and the fact that it made me cry multiple times i found to be really interesting... but it was still just a game to me, it wasn’t something i thought about when i have time to daydream headcanons. i had read i think the witcher (short story) halfway through playing, just to get a feel of what tw3 came from, but from that, i realized the books and the games were incredibly different entitities, and i decided to not read the books until i had finished the game, or at least until i had more free time on my hands (mind i was in high school and was a senior, and during this time was when i was submitting college applications... exceptionally stressful, and the reading/writing part of my brain was absolutely fried from essay writing and reviewing). i was particularly struck by geralt and ciri’s relationship and the isle of mists quests fucked me up pretty bad. 

then around later 2017, i was really enjoying tw3, and had finished tw3′s base game and hearts of stone, and was now making my way into blood & wine. i was just playing it like normal, then came the part when geralt met regis. at first i wasn’t too interested (i mean, i was, but in the story of blood & wine, not in the books) until the little journal text pop-up appeared on my screen. you know, the one about quests you just received, or characters you just met. it was going through the motions of saying i finished this quest, picked up this new one, i was all like fine, fine, okay, alright, and then it just fucking puts regis’ long-ass name on the screen taking up a good amount of my FOV and i am immediately like, what? what the fuck? who the fuck? that’s the name? of the guy we just met? that guy??? he didn’t seem like someone with a name like that? who the fuck IS this guy.

so i head over to the wiki page for regis. i thumb through the basic information, i’m pretty interested, this quest stuff to find ciri sounds interesting. i decide to give the witcher books another try, because i have more free time now and am way more invested as everyone here as characters. also, i want to find out more about yennefer, because she was being badmouthed by everyone i saw online, and i wanted to read more about her and see if she was really so bad (spoilers: she’s not at all, the internet is just misogynistic).

i don’t think that i’m going to actually really care about these books, i just want more flavor and explanation about how in hell a witcher met a vampire and these two somehow became friends. so, i don’t care about reading them in order. i go online and find fan translations of every book, i open baptism of fire and i just start reading the bit about the fish soup. i’m suddenly just laughing my ass off, really interested in who these other characters are, milva and cahir, and how dandelion seems to actually be the best friend to geralt that he was said to be in tw3. i also notice immediately that geralt... oh my god, geralt’s such a cranky bitch. i’m SHOCKED at how annoying geralt is. i realize that this is probably what geralt’s been like, this whole time, and tw3 just gave me a sterilized version of him. i’m trying to decide if i like this change or not, at first i HATED it... but then realized it actually gave him a character, where in tw3 he feels a little more... empty, waiting for the player to project a personality onto him.

so, i just read all of the hansa bits of baptism of fire, skipping over anything i don’t understand. i am saddened when i can’t find any more, so i move onto tower of the swallow. and then lady of the lake. “oh, so that’s why geralt was surprised to see regis in blood & wine...” feeling at a loss after reading stygga, i start at the beginning and make my way through the books chronologically, like they should be read. i soon realize that this series really isn’t about killing monsters at all, and i’m thrilled. i thought the series was just going to be about geralt killing things in a swamp and reporting back to whoever hired him, like in tw3... and i was wrong. this series is about personal connections! relationships! ... and fatherhood. i can’t remember when i started disliking tw3. it must have been around the time that i finished the books (im using the word finished loosely... i still havent finished some scenes because theyre too violent to read and continue with my day in peace, and i also read tos/lotl by skipping around, so i never got the full experience of reading them as full novels).

i just distinctly remember returning to my tw3 new game+ save after rereading the fish soup scene, and thinking about how lonely the game felt... i just felt so dispairingly alone, this loneliness that i hadn’t felt while playing before, that i had to put the game down. i returned to the game again, but i had just reread edge of the world... and i felt so alone again. 

so reading the books ruined tw3 for me, not out of malicious intent, but just because i think i realized geralt isn’t meant to be the lone wolf. the novels center around him and his family and friends, and i just genuinely missed that when replaying tw3. plus, i began to realize a bunch of things, like ciri’s scar is supposed to be bigger, geralt’s supposed to wear his hair in a headband, yennefer’s hair is actually curly, dandelion’s supposed to actually be in the game. there were so many inconsistencies with the characters i had imagined while reading the books that eventually i just stopped playing tw3 (i already played it once, so nbd) and got really into the books. 

sometime later i saved up like $80 to buy the paperback versions of the books (UK versions including season of storms) because i knew i was in really deep lol and i wanted the official translations super badly, also we were doing an assignment in class that allowed us to do something with our favorite book, but we needed to have it in-person and not as an e-book, so it was the perfect excuse. much time spent on hansa headcanons later and... here we are today.

a read-more, because this is more personal. 

the witcher series picked me up at an eerily appropriate time. two things in it stood out to me: 1) geralt’s relationship with ciri 2) regis’s alcoholism. 

i distinctly remember an event where i started crying in front of my parents because my dad was being so absent in my life or maybe it was because they were arguing, something like this... and i remember referencing tw3 isle of mists quest actually by saying “i shouldn’t have to learn it (good parenting) from a video game” ... lol. it wasn’t an epic burn from a 17 yo, but it was just a painful remark made in anger. i still think back to it because of how first watching geralt hug ciri made me feel and how i was actually really bitter because i was jealous of ciri for about a week after completing the quest. then i kind of pushed it out of my mind and didn’t think so much about it, until the night i mentioned it.

in late march of 2018, something very bad happened in my family. that’s probably the best way to describe it. the situation ended in my parents finally separating. my mom and i were pretty afraid and lost after that. after i had collected my thoughts and everything and went back to as “normal” as i could, about a month later, when the creative part of my brain finally began to function again and wasn’t inhibited due to fear, i clung to the witcher more than i did before... and this time, actually particularly to regis, because guess who has a whole redemption arc relating to not being alcoholic and being a genuinely good person who speaks gently and heals the vulnerable?

oh prepare for a long-ish ask. I think the 70′s and 80′s it’s kind of clear what albums were decade-defining but the 60′s really was when music made its largest shift ? if that makes sense my brain is fried from after writing this paper lol 

1960s

1. The Velvet Underground & Nico// The Velvet Underground

- Even though i hardly talk about the velvet undergound on my blog i am incredibly fond of this band. i think their sound brought something totally different to the music scene at the time, and the warhol influence fused music and art into an incredible union. i think the velvet underground is like the band of the art rock scene, with just a touch of mod? they’re incredible. 

2. Revolver// The Beatles

- In my opinion, Revolver is the best beatles album like its a banger from start to finish (except yellow submarine fuck that) I feel like this album has a really good balance between their original sound, while also adding so many different elements its just a really interesting album to me. I think this album is a really good example of the progression of rock throughout the 60s, especially compared to their earlier albums

3. Highway 61 Revisited// Bob Dylan

- okay i really could’ve put any dylan album on here from the 60s because theyre all so good and i think they all made such an influence on folk/rock music. his songwriting is literally indescribable (i know i dont need to tell you this). I picked highway 61 because it’s my favorite at the moment (from the 60s, my favorite dylan album is desire) I also think this shows the versatility of dylan i dunno ? Similar to revolver, highway 61 encapsulates the changing tides of the music scene in the 60s

4. Let It Bleed// The Rolling Stones

- oh my FUCK when i thnk of the 60s i think of this album almost immediately. It’s not my all time favorite stones album but god its up there. opening with such an apocolyptic song like gimme shelter ? bold ass move and im glad they did it. That song literally is a beacon for the end of the 60s, especially when you look back at all the crazy ass shit that happened in 69. That song sends fucking chills through my spine. And the end of the album with you cant always get what you want, i think the album starts with some deep, kind of menacing song but ends with this shining light? i dunno how to explain what im trying to say i hope you understand what im saying. I think everyone near the end of the 60s needed that shining light, and let it bleed is symbolic of that. 

5. Are You Experienced// The Jimi Hendrix Experience 

- Jimi Hendrix was one of the first artists to capatalize off of guitar based music (if that makes sense this is getting really long and im starting to ramble). I’m not saying he was the first person to have cool guitar solos or do any intricate playing (he low key was though) but he really revolutionized the way rock music was being played at the time and was one of the game changers. I firmly believe that without him and the music he made, music of the late 60′s and even 70s wouldnt have been what it was. 

6. Led Zeppelin II// Led Zeppelin

- okay im really torn between putting this album on the list. Because when I think of Zeppelin i don’t really think of the 60s because they are The band of the 70s ya know ? I was tempted to put this album in the 70s section of this ask but i feel like people would give me flack for that. I think this album really shows where music was heading going into the 70s. They pioneered that hard rock sound ya know ? I think this album, like let it bleed, is a good indicator for where music was heading. also cant forget about the wack ass lyrics that are in that album, talking about balls and shit how Foul.

- if u really thought we weren’t gonna talk abt my fucking baby ur mistaken :((((((. I think this album is such a good example of music in the early 70s, still clinging to a bit of that 60s, peace and love vibe while also making a rock record. I guess the two biggest examples of that would be something like I dig love anf then comparing that to out of the blue. Its definitely got that 60s flare but there’s so much more depth ya know ? george is the best pls block me if u think otherwise bc ur crusty 

2. Dark Side of The Moon// Pink Floyd

- yes. i know this ablum is basic. but its still a good representation of music that defined the 70s. Floyd was the biggest success with the whole psychedelic rock thing, they made it enjoyable for everyone and i think that can be seen in dsotm.

4. Talking Book// Stevie Wonder

- was tempted to put songs in the key of life but… i like talking book better lol. Any of his albums made in the 70s could be considered decade defining albums. Mans got incredible talent, and his lyrics spoke to a wide variety of people i think ? also the combination of funk and soul that hes famous for can later be seen in disco music. I think his music in general just speaks to a lot of people, and a lot of musicians take inspiration from him

5. Rumours// Stevie Nicks

- im gonna be up front with this one, everyone fuck with stevie and i bet u dont know anyone who doesnt like dreams or the chain. shit slaps what else can i say 

6. The Eagles// The Eagles

- The eagles are like the poster child for american rock (more specifically, west coast rock), which became popular in the 70s. I dunno when i think of the 70s i think of driving down the highway and when i think of driving down the highway i think of the eagles, its just common knowledge 

7. London Calling// The Clash

- similar to my problems with putting zeppelin ii in the 60s category, i thnk london calling really belongs in the 80s section maybe ? actually no, i think this album is a good synopsis of the punk movement that started in the mid/late 70s and then carried into the 80s

Also think this album is like the poster child for a sad teenager in the 80s, and god knows there were a lot of those weirdos. 

2. Purple Rain// Prince

- personally… controversy is my favorite prince album but we wont discuss. This album is so widely popular i grew up on this shit. like every song on it is a banger and defintely splits the line between pop and rock, something we see a lot when looking into music from the 80s

- madonna was the first pop princess idc this album is like 80s pop defined. shes amazing, this album is amazing, what else can i say? im right :)

“mauga isnt going to be hero 31″--a rebuttal (long post)

basically, youtubers have been arguing all month that mauga isnt gonna be the next hero at this point. i wanna say that its just because there’s nothing else to talk about regarding overwatch right now so youtubers are gonna keep speculating to create more content, but now they have a lot of people actually believing that mauga’s definitely not going to be the next hero. which makes no sense because we were all so sure of it when the short story came out and the silence on blizzard’s part doesn’t really have a reason to signify otherwise. so in an attempt to convince everyone that content creators are just overly speculating for views, and that mauga IS the next hero, im gonna break down the most common arguments i see from them

“blizzard has been silent since the short story and the hype for mauga is dying. if they really wanted him to be the next hero they would have kept the hype going until his release. he’ll probably be a hero next year.”

so you’re telling me the hype is more dead right now than it will be next year? we know that jeff basically confirmed him as a hero when he said that characters from the short story “may or may not become a bigger part of overwatch in the future”. if there’s any time to release him as a hero it would literally be right now. the hype for him will actually be dead in the future. he’s not one of the heroes that has a bigger and more prominent influence on the story that would keep hype for him going, like how doomfist was. he lies in a very specific area/relationship of the story that if they pushed his release back, he’ll definitely be forgotten about by everyone. with the type of character he is in mind, there’s no reason to release teasers for him in a short story if they don’t plan on making him the next hero. just to add to that, the next class that we’re due for is a tank. a shield tank specifically. i dont think theyd tease one at this time just to clown us and release someone else.

you’re just saying that because this specific relationship/plotline isnt one youre that invested in. that doesn’t mean they won’t expand on it. for the first time since orisa/doomfist releases, there seems to be a flow in how theyre releasing heroes. also, “not building on what we have/adding a lot of lore to the game?”  not even mentioning that it’s developing the team of talon (which we had been interested in for a long time/wanted expanded on/literally ONLY had reaper & widow at one point & we wanted more talon members & now we’re getting them), that clearly isn’t a reason to not add a certain hero. ashe’s existence as a hero completely contradicts that statement, lul. next.

just because that’s what should be done, doesn’t mean blizzard will do it. we’ve had completely irrelevant characters added who haven’t added anything substantial to the lore (again, ashe). you’re absolutely right in that they really need to expand on the heroes we’re invested in with no lore/motivations/anything, but based on last year’s shitty hero releases, that’s not a thing blizzard always does. so this can’t really be an argument against mauga. this is just you being frustrated.

storm rising took place 6 years ago. the short story took place in present-day, 3 days after winston recalled the former overwatch members. this contradicts the timeline completely. if you’re going to be a content creator for overwatch, you could at least familiarize yourself with its basic story.

sudomemo is an absolute fucking hellhole not bcuz of the usual reasons ppl hate it ("censorship", arguments, ppl *gasp* dating on it) but bcuz i'd say 80% of the userbase is some form of "triggered", kek, rape joke, "special snowflake", "slurs are funny" kind of person, or theyre a cis straight girl who loves killing stalking (ive seen literal animated amv's for this on there......) and of those 80% i'd say maybe 1% are willing to listen to anyone who tries to tell them what theyre doing is wrong. and the issue with the telling them part is that since every chat is public (theres no private messaging obvs), AND since most people dont want to move to a private chat (aka just comments on someones flipnote) it all gets seen by everyone else. ppl on sudo have a habit of loading every single message sent even when they KNOW that person isnt talking to them (i do it too) so everyone is essentially keeping up with every single conversation in the goddamn chat. the issue stems from that: people dont mind their own fucking business (im guilty as well) and they butt into any conversation they like. this includes such gems as "stop fucking arguing", "can we please stop arguing", "this negativity is stressing me out", and my personal favorite "//gone bcuz of drama". and all of this stems from not only shit like "ur a cunt", "oh yeah? ur a slut!" but also simple conversations that just so happen to be about heavy topics. i rarely write in all caps or throw insults around but still i get people yelling at me to "leave them alone" as if im not just trying to explain my point. the person in the wrong is almost always the victim, unless what the wrong person did is perceived as "bullying" (a term i dont think people understand much on there). people are expected to "respect" each other even if the other person is literally spewing slurs that dont belong to them. its a simple disagreement, and all this negativity is really stressing me out guys, can you please apologize to each other? that mentality never fucking ends. and i'll tell you the absolute worst part of it: the fact that this is all contained in these tiny 600 smthn by 400 smthn pixel screens that youre forced to write everything out on. youre expected to only have one post per response, and if its more than that people just wont fucking read it all. you need to jam everything you can possibly say into these boxes with clear and concise handwriting in the span of maybe 5 minutes before whoever you were talking to assumes ur wifi is down or youre dead. because messages get lost there, you cant easily go back and look for whatever was said to you. i could probably write an essay on this fucking community. maybe i already just did.

I think my bittersweet feelings towards old ships and shows is similar to looking at an apocalyptic world and knowing how it once was before it was destroyed beyond recognition. Looking at this one ship literally makes me feel squeal-ly and sad and i think i know why. When i was shipping it then the world was good, to me at least. I felt things, i had no cares, i was still fresh in love and still had so many things to explore. Now it feels like those days are gone but i know they shouldn't be. Im still young i still have dreams and aspirations but the things that brought me joy once no longer make me feel like they used to. Its like i have longer periods of depression. Not like clyincal depression where i dont shower for days and push away my loved ones. More like a stable sadness, something that happens every once and awhile bc we cant be happy all the time. But ive noticed as time goes on i, i dont know. I just feel less. Halloween used to be my favorite now its just a disappointing event. Christmas isnt the same when santa isnt real and you realize no one truely cares about the gifts their giving. Maybe a few aren't like that, but even im subject to feeling like these are obligitory gifts that hold no real value. People get excited over the seasons but now im just kind of mildly impressed. Sometimes im happy during a summer day or a snowy night but sometimes im not. What i hate is that i always know how im feeling. I always know what the problem is. If im angry at a situation i always know what im angry about, even if its stupid. Like if im pissed off for no reason i know its a hormone imbalance or lack of nutrients bc i force myself not to over eat like i want to. Just an example. And i know that i play up my sicknesses for attention and sympathy. I want pity, not overbearing but enough for someone to point out something is wrong. I think i have problems? Or i did and forced myself to become my own psychiatrist or somethin idk. But i have this mentality where i cant self diganose myself because ive tired once and it failed i was humiliated and it made me like ACTUALLY depressed for a good chunk of time bc i became the person i hated the most. Or at least i think. So if someone can point out that maybe i should see someone or eat more or notice anything wrong with me and they help me then i have permission to do the thing. But no one REALLY cares about other people, they just want other people happy so theyre easier to deal with. Or so they are allowed to be sad and be comforted.
