『Cookies & Cream flavoured Pocky』

➳ It wasn't such a bad idea to play around once in a while

➳ So you bought a pack of Cookies and Cream pocky to play with Yamaguchi

➳ He wasn't too big on the idea at first, since you two are just FRIENDS after all

➳ Not for long though

➳ But you managed to convince him, saying that it'll be fun and stuff

➳ He reluctantly gave in eventually

➳ You gave him the advantage of biting his end first, and you scooted closer to bite yours

➳ When I tell you you could feel the heat radiating from his face

➳ The both of you started the game after you counted to three

➳ You started off pretty slowly, then you sped up after noticing Yamaguchi's pace slowing down

➳ You were nearing the middle of the pocky, when all of a sudden Yamaguchi picked up the pace and reached the middle of the pocky

➳ But he didn't stop there

➳ Instead of moving away and claiming his victory, he continued biting until he reached your lips

➳ You were shocked, obviously, so you just sat there and stared at Yamaguchi's closed eyes as he continued to kiss you

➳ After what felt like an eternity, he finally pulled away and looked at you. As soon as he noticed you're a blushing mess, a small smirk formed on his face

➳ “Well, wasn't that fun?”

➳ Your blush darkened and you narrowed your eyes at him

➳ “You sly little….”

➳ “You should've expected that coming though~”

➳ “Well, you sped up all of a sudden!! How was I supposed to see that coming?!”

➳ You grabbed the pocky box and took another stick out

➳ “Let's do it again. I won't lose this time.”

➳ Let's just say that this went on for a pretty long time and at the end of the day, you decided it'd be best to just confess your feelings to him

➳ (Which was also "coincidentally" the sole reason you wanted to play a pocky game with him)

↬ Akaashi Keiji

『Matcha flavoured Pocky』

➳ Unlike the matcha pocky, your first kiss with your boyfriend was, minty

➳ You and Akaashi just started going out and one day, during a sleepover that was held at Bokuto's house, all of you decided to play pocky game since it was the 11th of November

➳ Of course, as a new (and also the only) couple in the group, the both of you were targeted as the ones to play the game first

➳ You felt a bit conflicted about this matter. Of course, it would be a dream come true to get to kiss Akaashi (who would even let that chance slip by) but you're also not sure if you wanted your first kiss to be because of a party game

➳ Akaashi noticed your reluctance and figured that you might not be ready to kiss him yet, since you two just started dating after all

➳ (Not gonna lie, he was pretty dejected but he valued your feelings first and foremost like the gentleman he is so he won't force you if you don't want to.)

➳ “I'm sorry, but can we pass this one up? I don't think L/N is ready to--”

➳ “We'll do it!! I mean-- I'll do it! I'm totally okay with doing it!”

➳ You quickly interrupted Akaashi and grabbed the Matcha pocky box from the table before taking one pocky stick out

➳ “L-let's do this…”

➳ You bit one end of the pocky and moved closer to Akaashi to make it easier for him to bite his side of the end

➳ Kaori and Bokuto both whistled at your boldness which made you blush even harder. Akaashi sent a silent glare their way in an attempt to make them shut up, to which they did (but not without smirking and grinning like cats at the sight of you and Akaashi)

➳ The game started and you could feel everyone's stares digging a hole inside you

➳ The two of you started at a pretty slow pace, and it felt like the pocky was kilometres long given how long it took for you to reach the middle

➳ As the both of your faces started to get closer, your heart thumped louder and louder, making you worried that Akaashi would hear it

➳ You took a glance at his face, and just as you did, almost as if he noticed your glance, he looked back at you

➳ Seeing Akaashi's beautiful eyes staring back at yours in such close proximity made your brain stopped working for a moment and in a state of panic, you accidentally snapped the pocky in two and stumbled backwards

➳ Akaashi blinked in confusion at the whole situation, which just made your brain short circuited and steams started to escape from your ears

➳ You became a stuttering mess and you couldn't sit back up until Akaashi held out a hand to help you

➳ As soon as you got to sit up straight again, you immediately buried your face in his chest and murmured “It's my lost….”.

➳ Akaashi finished biting the leftover pocky and held you closer to him

➳ “That was a good game,” he whispered back

➳ Everyone started to give you two lovebirds teasing grins and laughs

➳ The game continued with you still buried in Akaashi's chest, with you occasionally giving curious glances to see exactly what was happening

➳ After some time, everyone started to get sleepy and decided that it was time to sleep

➳ After what just happened, you honestly didn't really feel like sleeping

➳ So instead you whispered Akaashi's name and gestured for him to come closer after you two were ready to lay down on the futon

➳ “What is it, L/N?”

➳ He came closer to you but was surprised when you suddenly pulled the collar of his shirt and tiptoed just enough to reach his face before planting a kiss on his lips

➳ The kiss smelled and tasted a bit like mint, since you two just brushed your teeth and all, but you honestly weren't complaining at all. It was refreshing

➳ Right after you parted your lips, you tried to look at him straight in the eyes (keyword: tried) and explained your actions

➳ “S-sorry I suddenly snapped the pocky….it was an accident...well, kind of. Besides that, I wanted our first kiss to be special so uhm…”

➳ Akaashi understood your intention now and he couldn't help but to give a soft chuckle at your flustered self

➳ “W-what's so funny??”

➳ “Nothing, it's just…..you were too cute so…”

➳ You silently screamed at him and lightly punched his arm as he continued chuckling. The both of you were still careful so as to not make any noise and wake up the others though

➳ (Kind of useless though since they were just pretending to sleep and already witnessed your lovey-dovey couple moments)

『Tsubu Tsubu Strawberry flavoured Heart Shaped Pocky』

➳ It all started with a stupid dare by Kuroo

➳ Of course, how could you chicken out and refuse if that was the case?

➳ Apparently, Kuroo’s older sister bought too many boxes of pocky and gave him some. He thought of sharing them with the team and brought them to school

➳ After practice was done, however, he got a brilliant idea

➳ He distributed the boxes to everyone but when he got to you, he got a different way to give them

➳ “Here you go, Y/N. A heart shaped pocky, special just for you, the manager. Tsubu tsubu strawberry flavoured.”

➳ “Oh, I’ve seen this type of pocky on the internet before. They look so cute! But I didn’t manage to find them anywhere. Thanks--”

➳ Just as you were about to take the box from him, he retreated back his hand and held the box higher and out of reach from you

➳ You looked at him with visible confusion, and he smirked down at you

➳ “Well, this is a special type of pocky you know? It feels like a waste to just give it to you like that.”

➳ “Didn’t you say that I got the special one because I’m the manager?”

➳ You’re starting to get annoyed at his attitude but you tried to cover it up with a forced smile

➳ “Still, this is the only heart shaped pocky I got from my sister…..Hmmm what should I do~?”

➳ You tried to grab the box from him, but he only held the box higher and on top of that, used his other hand to push your face away from him

➳ You finally ran out of patience and started to go full on feral mode at him

➳ “KUROO TETSUROU JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN POCKY!!”

➳ This is why no one messed with you regarding the subject of candies and sweets

➳ It was quite a scene, and Kai had to step in to ease the fight

➳ Kuroo finally lowered his arms and you took that as an opportunity to snatch the pocky box

➳ But he used the same trick again and moved his arms away before you could reach it

➳ “I’ll give you the pocky, under one condition.”

➳ You looked at him with extreme irritation. His name’s going to be in your blacklist for sure now

➳ “What?” You said, rather begrudgingly.

➳ Kuroo smirked in victory. He turned away from you and faced the direction Yaku was in.

➳ “Yakkun! Come here for a sec!”

➳ Your heart literally jumped out of your chest at that moment. Kuroo’s planning something, and whatever it was, you’re not gonna like it

➳ “So here’s the thing. I’ll give you the pocky, but only after you complete a pocky game, with Yakkun. How’s that?”

➳ Your face turned dark red at his proposal.

➳ “Are you crazy?! There’s no way I’ll do that!”

➳ You whisper yelled at him so as to not raise any suspicion from Yaku.

➳ “And why won’t you, hmm?”

➳ Seeing his teasing grin and narrowed eyes, you knew at that moment, that Kuroo knew of your crush on Yaku.

➳ “W-what-- how do you--? Don’t tell me you knew?”

➳ “Knew what? Are you hiding something perhaps?”

➳ You gritted your teeth in frustration. Oh, he knew alright. And he’s gonna pretend as if he doesn’t

➳ “Whatever, and why should I even do this?”

➳ “To get your desired special heart shaped tsubu tsubu strawberry flavoured pocky?”

➳ Phew that was a mouthful

➳ He swung the pocky box in front of you, tempting you even more

➳ Just as you were about to agree to play the game, a realization struck you

➳ “Ha! Nice try there, Kuroo. What makes you think Yaku would even want to play this game with me?”

➳ “Play what game?”

➳ You literally jumped from your position in shock when Yaku’s voice suddenly came up behind you, earning a snicker from Kuroo

➳ “I dared Y/N to play a pocky game with you, and if they did, they’ll receive this special pocky as a prize.”

➳ You internally screamed and tried to keep yourself from murdering this rooster head but Yaku’s unexpected reaction made you forget about the murderous instinct for a moment

➳ “Oh, okay. Sure, let’s play it then.”

➳ “W-wait, are you really, REALLY sure you wanna play it with me??”

➳ “I don’t see anything wrong with that. Besides, you’ve helped us -me especially- a lot by being our manager already. Helping you with something this trivial is the least I can do.”

➳ You tried to hide the blush that was creeping up your face and Kuroo, noticing your heating face immediately nudged your arm while displaying a much wider grin than before

➳ You excused yourself for a moment and took out your phone before googling “Can you stay friends with someone you just kissed?” in the case of you two kissing after the pocky game

➳ “Well then, here you go. I’ll give you mine since I still have some more at home.”

➳ Yaku took the box of pocky from Kuroo after he fished it out from his bag and opened the packaging. He took one out and bit the end without the coating

➳ Noticing that Yaku's ready for the game, you put back your phone inside your uniform pocket. You gulped once and tried to calm your nerves as you moved closer to him to bite your side of the pocky

➳ When you scooted closer to him however, he didn’t notice your presence until you were directly in front of him and biting the pocky with a heavy blush on your face

➳ Yaku stared at you with his wide, brown eyes for a moment before snapping the pocky into two out of reflex and fell on his back

➳ All of the others stared in shock at Yaku who’s now on the floor, covering his face with one hand. It was pretty obvious that he was blushing, even if he tried to hide it. His reddening ears gave it all away

➳ “Yaku, what’s wrong?”

➳ Kai was the first to break the silence. You were still shocked at his overreaction so you were just standing there with the half broken piece of pocky still in your mouth

➳ “Wait--I-- I just--- Uhm--- I thought we were playing a pocky game???”

➳ You had probably never seen Yaku this flustered before in your entire life. It was certainly a sight to see, but it just made your blush grew darker on your face

➳ “And you were….Wait, don’t tell me, you don’t know how a pocky game works?”

➳ Kuroo guessed with a snap of his fingers, as if he just made a great discovery

➳ “Don’t each person just take a pocky for themselves and it’s a game where you compete on who can finish their pocky first?”

➳ Kuroo covered his mouth to prevent any laugh from escaping and your soul had probably left your body at this point. The second-hand embarrassment you were feeling was no joke

➳ Kuroo tried to explain the rules of the game to Yaku, which just ended up making the libero blush even harder than before

➳ “Who even invented this game….”

➳ He whispered underneath his breath after Kuroo’s explanation. He looked at you who were surrounded by the first years poking their fingers at your arms and asking, “Are they dead?” with a troubled sigh

➳ “Okay….let’s do this again.”

➳ He finally got up and took out another pocky stick. Your soul finally returned to your body when he was in front of you and holding out the pocky with his mouth

➳ “It’s okay if you don’t want to do it, Yaku! I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable or anything….”

➳ Yaku silenced you by grabbing both your shoulders firmly, but not so much with force, as if he’s treating a fragile thing

➳ “It’s okay. I really don’t mind if I’m playing this... with you.”

➳ You bit the other side of the pocky and tried to focus on eating without thinking too much on what he just said, which just ended up in a total failure by the way

➳ The both of you went on a steady pace but when you finally almost reached the middle of the pocky, you both simultaneously stopped and stared down awkwardly, trying to avoid eye contact with one another

➳ Many thoughts ran through the both of your heads, and all of it were more or less the same

➳ “What if I accidentally kissed him/them? He/they probably wouldn’t like that….”

➳ “He/they would probably even hate me if that happened…..”

➳ After several seconds had passed, you two finally decided to continue biting on the pocky. And simultaneously once again, might I add

➳ This just resulted in the both of your lips to brush against one another in the end, and you swore your heart just escaped from your chest when you felt the sensation of Yaku’s lips brushing against yours

➳ You and Yaku both moved and turned away from one another, too embarrassed to face the other

➳ “Well, you’ve cleared the dare, so here’s your prize.”

➳ Kuroo casually put the box of pocky on top of your head and left the gym to head back home, followed by the others, intentionally leaving you and Yaku alone in the gym

➳ Okay, maybe you can at least lift Kuroo’s name from your blacklist after this. After all, he did help you get closer to your crush…..kinda

- the mind games have begun

- im still sure that sera isn't gonna fall for it but it must be really rough for her rn

- lmao i screamed when she told him to group up

- as in my anxiety kicked in

- like how tf do u even do that, esp when uk they don't want u there

- and hello? the dialogue is killing me. most of the drama in uno starts bc no one knows how to use their words

*I’m guessing she’s not gonna fall for it since she told John to go group with the others

*God John is such a menace

*I personally don’t think Blyke’s being a hypocrite. Like to me I think Blyke has a wayyy better reason to act like this to John than John did to Blyke

*Like Blyke got trauma from the Joker v Royals fight and with all of the further fights between Blyke and John and with John actively targeting Safe House, Blyke learned that John’s a threat

*Stuff like that takes a long time to work out

*Like he TRIED really hard to be John’s friend like he said this episode

*And I don’t think John’s actually apologized to anyone other than Sera but I might be wrong

*I mean the royals kinda did own up

*Especially Blyke and Arlo considering they owned up to people other than John

*The big example of this is Safe House and the new peace at Wellston

*But I absolutely wouldn’t say Blyke is hiding what he did

*I mean the Zeke v Blyke fight he literally says that the royals fucked up and how they needed to do better and stop bullying everyone

*I understand both the polite move on and Blyke’s point

*Like the polite part is to keep the peace and bc they can’t go back and change things, they can only more forwards

*And as I mentioned before, Blyke literally has at least a minor form of PTSD from the crap John did

*He has so many symptoms of minor PTSD

*Plus Blyke seems like the type of guy to treat others how he’s treated

*He’s super nice to Remi, he’s sarcastic and crap with Isen, he’s respectful to Arlo and Sera

*The only thing he’s gotten from John is hatred and aggression

*Plus I don’t think John would be accepting of their apologies

*John’s just a bloodthirsty bully for the entirety of the student body except Sera, Arlo, and maybe Remi

iKON Relationship with New Girl Member

Jinhwan:

Basically, her dad

Takes care of her the most dealing with her problems

He’s the oldest and he is used to dealing with the boys’ shit so he can handle hers too

But sometimes, it can be overwhelming

The girl member would listen to him like he would for her

Whenever she gets in trouble, he would always defend her (which annoys Bin a lot)

When she’s in that *cough* time *cough*, she would be the most comfortable with him

Jinhwan wouldn’t hesitate but go to the store 2 streets down and buy her chocolate, medicine, heating packs, chips, and tampons/pads

out of all the boys, she would trust him the most

if she needs something, she would go to him first

jinhwan loves to brag about that to the boys

he also loves the fact that someone is finally shorter than him

the boys still call him short but the girl defends him saying he’s taller than her

if anything, they should call her short

the first time it happened, jinhwan almost cried bc finally someone stood up for him

whenever he’s upset or hurt by what the others said, he hides it but she can usually tell

the only one he speaks his problems to

she experiments with makeup on him since he’s the only one who lets her

ngl, she’s actually pretty good

‘i didn’t spend 2 all-nighters watching jeffree star and james charles for nothing’

but as long as he sees that bright smile, he’s happy

i think he would be the im-never-letting-you-go type with her because he sees her as the girl he saw for the very first time

shy and innocent

and he will be damned if someone corrupts her

Yunhyeong:

if Jinhwan is her dad, he’s her mom

makes sure she does laundry, gets up early, goes to bed on time, showers before the boys

will feed and cook for the girl even when he’s tired

thinks shes the cutest little thing

but he knows that if he finds chanwoo and her are talking amongst themselves, shes gone

gets pranked on the most

the boys would use the girl to take advantage of his kindness to her for a prank

then the girl would be guilty later on and secretly tell song what theyre planning

believe it or not, yunghyeong is pretty scary when he’s mad

so she rats the others out bc she knows he wont punish her and she could watch the boys suffer

its like killing 2 birds with one stone

but really, she appreciates him

without him, she would be stuck eating delivery and ramen every night

since she rooms with him, chanwoo, and hanbin, hes always cooking something

ikonics see her a lot in his vlives and YT channel

when he went to the jungle, she was very worried

‘hyung, you’re going to get sick there! who’s going to feed me when you’re gone? you know Bin can’t cook for shit!’

‘yah! do you only see me as your chef?!’

‘what do you mean i can’t cook?!’

he looks out for her a lot

during ikontv, she was the only one excited for the mungap trip

out of all the boys, she appreciates him the most

okay, maybe she appreciates him and jinhwan the most

but, he was the one who made her feel welcome and tried the most to help her fit in and make sure she was comfortable

will never forget when he left her a tray of food at her door when she refused to leave her new room

there was a post-it note with encouraging words and she still has it to this day

just a wholesome mother-daughter relationship that will never be broken

Bobby:

oh, my baby

as i mentioned in the earlier post, he wasn’t very upset but he wasnt happy

but he wasnt upset enough to make her feel uncomfortable

bc jiwon is such a baby and so nice that he subtly helps her

over time, they build a cute relationship where he is like her older brother

steals her food all the time

‘yah! it’s rude not to share with your elders!’

‘*mumbling* wdym elder. you’re practically a 5 year old’

jiwon has no mean bone in his body and you were practically an angel to him

well, when you’re not fooling around or goofing off

although he thought you wouldnt survive in iKON, he tries to help you as much as he can

even though bin is literally a big butt and gives you a hard time, jiwon helps you

like the time bin screamed at you because you couldnt get the dance right and you, being a strong woman who wouldnt let people push you around, screamed at him too

it resulted to you having a screaming match and the elders having to push you back because you were so close to punching him in the face and the youngers holding bin because he wouldnt hesitate to come at you

Donghyuck:

previously stated, he was the only one excited for your arrival

so obvs, yall are very tight

you, bob, and dong do vlives together a lot and ikonics look forward to it all the time

philly vs nyxl: busan

I broke down busan from philly vs nyxl fight by fight, as far as I can tell theres just. a disconnect in how the team goes aggro, so while they’re able to get fusion players low at times, they can’t ever finish kills bc jjonak and mano are mispositioning and die, hotba is focusing on getting damage out rather than protecting the team, and whoru’s mei is bad. its a team thing rather that one singular issue. extremely long ramble under the cut, not breaking down every play but just the stuff I thought was interesting. would like to emphasize that im certified plat chat so, like, take this w a grain of salt

the skirmish starts pretty even on downtown. hotba takes an off angle to force philly back, and when ivy walls he goes in to get some damage off on their backline, but bc theyre so grouped he can’t really get anything done without getting demeched. mano gets walled away from supports by ivy, but manages to live thanks to whoru’s counterwall.

philly rotates to help sado, who is walled off, and jjonak takes an aggressive angle away from mano’s shield to build ult quickly. since hotba isn’t pocketing him carpe claps him bc hes out of position. hotba was doing shield damage at the time, I don’t think he expected jjonak to go that aggro and thus couldn’t matrix carpe fast enough, so that seems like a synergy thing. jjonak was building nano much faster than alarm was, I think if he’d lived they could've won that fight.

philly rushes, nyxl splits and pressures point for a sec, philly cleans them up. this isn’t actually too bad for nyxl:

these ults are fairly even. I do wanna note tho how little ult charge poko has tho, he was playing SUPER defensive, pocketing carpe when he took aggro angles and enabling sado to charge his ult. imo, this is the best way to play this meta; in order to be aggressive, you have to have someone backing you up. nyxl needs to decide who’s going to be taking angles and who's going to be allowing that person to take angles.

nyxl planned to engage with nano the second fight, but mano gets walled off immediately and hotba was taking an off-angle again so wasn’t able to get there fast enough and mano dies.

nyxl’s engage the next fight is good in theory. they split to try and bait ivy into walling mano, while the rest of the team flanks so they can help him live through it and maybe wall sado off. ivy walls, mano engages with jjonak’s nano. unfortunately, whoru went with him (probably to get a more favorable wall), and dies the literal instant he puts his shield down. unlucky, but he should’ve done the safer thing and followed the rest of the team.

ivy uses blizzard, mano dies, but carpe dies and sbb gets a deadeye pick onto astro so philly regroups to the point bc they know nyxl have ults. nyxl is low so they use beat and commit with a neat pincer attack, which allows them to purple and stun them. this almost works:

however, the nano keeps sado alive and forces sbb to back up, poko and ivy peel for alarm and keep him alive, hotba gets demeched and is forced to bomb, and it’s only downhill from there. astro gets back, carpe takes an angle to force jjonak and anamo across the point, jjonak gets super low and poko runs him down before hotba can react. whoru finally gets blizzard and catches sado in it, so it’s still winnable! unfortunately, hotba tries to chase poko down to demech him (he was full, this was never going to happen.) and lets ivy kill mano:

note that he is not matrixing here and had full matrix. philly cleans them up and the round is over. next round (sanctuary), goes a lot better. philly runs carpe on the widow and sends poko to protect him. consequently, sado plays more defensively. the second it’s called that philly has a widow, hotba (who’d been backing mano) takes a dogfight with poko and keeps him from returning to the fight. nyxl was out of carpe’s sightline, so their superior damage forces philly to back up and gives nyxl first control.

this is exactly what hotba should be doing in this situation. carpe can’t flank like he does on McCree, so as long as nyxl stays out of his sightline they’ll be fine, and by distracting poko he’s not letting him force nyxl into those sightlines. because poko and carpe are so separated, hotba is able to demech poko. nyxl has a strong position on the point, so hotba goes to do chip damage and take their attention away from the point. this is exactly what he was doing on downtown, but because nyxl has a safer defensive position, it works this time.

hotba alternates between matrixing poko so he can’t build mech and harassing carpe, giving nyxl free point percentage as philly can’t engage until poko’s back in mech. once poko gets back, philly rotates, and poko continues to pocket carpe. hotba goes on him the second he spots him, but jjonak again goes too aggro trying to kill alarm and gets clapped.

philly commits blizzard to counter nano, nyxl gets cleaned up and mano gets staggered a bit. this is fine for nyxl, they could’ve won that fight but they still have a lot of ults so they should be able to retake fine. carpe uses sights, sbb uses deadeye to zone, ivy blocks it. jjonak respects carpe this time and positions much more safely. hotba splits from the team again to try and pressure carpe, forcing astro and poko to deal with him and turning sado’s attention from mano

using hotba’s distraction, mano hits a big shatter and whoru mei ults, forcing astro to beat and winning them the fight.

next engage, fusion uses carpe as bait and has poko take an aggressive angle to prevent sbb flanking. hotba immediately splits off to pressure carpe, which is still the right choice. nyxl is playing very safe here, baiting fusion in.

sbb gets the flank on carpe, alarm, and astro while poko is distracted and hotba pressures them from behind, winning the fight and the point.

so as soon as nyxl plays more defensive and forces philly to come to them, they play better. hmm.

mekabase is where it falls apart again. the initial engage goes well, but anamo gets triple tapped by carpe instantly, which is more unlucky than anything. fusion splits the team neatly, and poko dives on jjonak and sbb, who are both low. hotba uses his boosters offensively to... I think he was trying to force fusion away from mano? mano was full hp so it wouldve been better for him to try and help sbb/jjonak

anyway jjonak and sbb die instantly and the fight ends, good play by poko. he’s doing a good job of balancing aggression and defensiveness, he has a better idea of what his team is gonna do I think. speaking of that, he goes SUPER aggro when nyxl engages next. since carpe and alarm basically already have ult he doesn’t need to pocket them.

hotba’s only choice here is to stay with the team, so he does that. jjonak gets walled off from the team and astro and poko pounce on him, the second the wall goes down hotba matrixes him and is able to keep him alive. hotba almost gets poko out of mech, but alarm nanos sado and whoru panics and walls off mano’s shatter. hotba continues to chase down poko and mano tries to charge sado and dies. debatable as to whether hotba could have saved mano here if he’d been matrixing him, I think this one’s on mano as well for suicide charging.

next engage, sbb and hotba stay close enough to mano to get walled with him, and poko, seeing this opportunity, pressures the backline and forces whoru’s iceblock. nyxl assumed carpe was gonna deadeye here so I think this is good positioning from everyone (except whoru) for that.

nyxl makes their way forward a bit w deadeye, hotba tries to keep poko (still behind them, putting pressure on sbb) off of sbb but gets slept, good play by alarm.

whoru walls mano off from the team on accident, ivy mei ults and kills him. nyxl demechs poko and disengages, but jjonak dies in the process.

fusion go over aggro trying to make this last fight and ivy gets picked, nyxl moves in and hotba drops to pressure the point. philly disengages quickly and cleanly and takes little damage, poko also drops to contest. mano goes aggro on poko, hotba goes up top to deny carpe the flank. this is good spread-out positioning by nyxl, with jjonak, anamo, and whoru playing very safe and taking space.

hotba continues to hold the high ground and pressure philly’s tanks. whoru mei ults sado, and carpe flanks and kills sbb before he even knows what’s happened. astro beats, and philly eventually clears nyxl off the point and wins with their superior ults.

no one person on nyxl is the problem, I focused a lot on hotba but overall the team is just having a hard time adjusting to each other’s styles and adjusting to being aggro, seems like theres a good deal of miscommunication. whoru’s mei does really suck tho. ill watch the rest of the maps in the series later and see if hotba, jjonak, and mano adjust their playstyles at all, from what I remember they don't and philly keeps capitalizing on it.

#notes #im not gonna go too in depth on the other maps bc ive seen enough. I just wanna see if they change it up at all #they did definitely play safer over the course of this map but #I think it came down to whoru's mei at the end of it. mano couldn't get much done

Holiday Harbinger 2019 for @paxveraque

Hi @paxveraque ! I’m your holiday harbinger (thank you @masseffectholidaycheer for organising) I struggled a bit with what to write because I read all about your Cassandra and kind of fell in love with her and her history and wasn’t really sure how to get her tone properly because you write her so well, so I decided to write about Garrus instead who we all know and love and I really hope you enjoy this.

The air is hot, not even a speck of dust was stirring in the standardised meeting room, all grey metal and bright lights. Garrus’ feels like his plates are melting in the stifling room and he struggles to focus. Someone is saying something about the First Contact War but Garrus can only really catch every few words. He hates these kind of training seminars.

History, he thinks, is best left behind.

He wants to be on the range, practicing his shooting. He wants to be reading case files and actually doing something rather than being forced to sit in this room, with its too small chairs that don’t accommodate his talons and learn about how humans fucked up the carefully balanced system the Turians had policed for centuries. It’s happened hasn’t it? Surely the best thing to pay attention to was how to deal with it, what to manage, what to fix, where they go from here.

Garrus hates feeling static.

Finally there is a pause in their lecture for the day, and there is a scraping of chairs and tables as people shift and file out of the room into the C-Sec corridors. He goes out to grab a hot beverage, hoping that this time he doesn’t pick up some Batarian crap by mistake.

“yeah you heard their considering a human spectre?”

He overhears and that stops him right in his tracks because okay, humans are pretty courageous, he’ll give them that, but spectre status? Please. He can’t imagine any human matching up to Nihlus. He lingers a little longer, hoping to hear more, but apparently, it’s just rumour and hearsay and he doesn’t really have time for this.

He heads straight to his office, passing by a group of humans in N7 gear and that is enough to get him to keep watching. The leader of the group has this look in her eye that Garrus recognises somehow, he’s about to stop, about to follow her when someone bumps into him, making him drop his notes.

“Ah, I’m so sorry,” the Asari says, her cheeks blushing a bright pink even through the blue. Garrus shuffles together his papers again and attempts a smile, flaring his mandibles. He adjusts his subvocals despite knowing the Asari won’t get it.

“No problem, have a good day,” and it’s dismissive he knows, but it gets what he wants as she practically runs away and he turns to try find that woman – but too late, they’ve moved on. Oh well. He’s got cases to cover.

Lately, though, he can’t help feeling like he’s on repeat, one thing after another, always the same red tape, always the same forms to fill. His talons itch to dig into something real. He stares at the paperwork on his desk and sighs.

Maybe real wasn’t what he was built for.

The job is given to him in hushed whispers, behind closed doors, though the irony of glass partitions does not escape him.

Saren.

They’re not sure they can trust him anymore, and Garrus is handed this like some sort of prize, like investigating their top Turian spectre is a reward he’s gained, as if turning his back on a fellow Turian should make him happy.

Shit, he grew up hearing stories about Saren. He admired him.

But, he’s a good Turian, he says he’ll look into it and when he does…there’s a whole lot of information to find and it makes him kind of sick to the stomach.

As soon as he finds out about Saren it’s like opening a can of worms, he knew there was corruption but what he didn’t know was how incredibly tied his hands would be. It’s like there is a block at every turn and through it all he hears whispers of someone.

Cassandra Shepard.

Something in the way people say her name makes his heart stop, but then he reminds himself that this isn’t some fairytale. This isn’t some story where there’s a hero and they make all the difference.

He’s just a lowly C-Sec officer and she’s just some military hotshot of the week.

But, goddamn, if it doesn’t sound like she’s actually getting shit done.

He meets her in a whirlwind of gunfire, she shimmers into view before him coming out of her tactical cloak, a shotgun on her hip.

“Let her go,” she says.

The moment of distraction is all he needs to save the kidnapped doctor they were here for. After that, everything is fast and loud.

She’s a force: focussed, brutal, efficient.

It’s like watching a sniper rifle in action.

Something about it falls into place for him, this is the first time he really feels like something is happening. After months of twisting and stopping at every turn, of chasing Saren around in circles, she shows up and bam. Clear lead. Clear information. He needs this.

He runs after her after everything is done. She’s about to go talk to the council but he stops her before she goes in, he almost feels shy.

“I want to come with you,” he says, all bravado in his voice even though he doesn’t feel any.

When she agrees, he almost doesn’t believe it.

He watches her argue with the council and sees the quiet passion and determination in her stance. There is a calm intensity to her that he can’t take his eyes off and he wonders why the hell the council can’t seem to see it also.

His decision is so easy then, he walks away from C-Sec without any regrets, knowing he’s following the right person.

And as he steps onto the Normandy, its white and black gloss and blue dimmed lights reflecting through his visor he feels it.

The thrum of the engine, the clank of his talons on the runway…this thing here, whatever it is, him following Shepard’s footsteps as she leads the way, her smile as she turns back to welcome him aboard.

This is real.

But...you DO know, or rather ALLOW ME TO INFORM YOU - if you weren’t aware already - is that I REALLY admire and love the vampires’ side. And I get it, not everyone likes the vampires...HELL I’d say more than half of the fandom hates the vampires aside from Mika and Krul and mayyyybe Crowley!

I don’t exactly appreciate/like the way you’re talking about the vampires, and referring to Yuichiro as some c00l @ss almighty figure - I’m purposely writing/talking like this to FORCE the indication of my annoyance right now with this ask (no offense).

I get it - humans gotta win - but even so, HEY LET’S ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE VAMPIRES AND RESPECT FOR WHO THEY ARE, YEAH? As Ferid said himself, humans are quite specialized in when it comes to taking down/defeating enemies that are FAR stronger than them.

With vampires, hell, it could’ve been even several YEARS that took them to learn and possess the skills they have now. I mean, just because you have the strength doesn’t mean you can do JACK SHIT without the skill and knowledge on HOW to use your power. For Yuichiro, he’ll be learning within only a few days to master catastrophic power - THAT DIDN’T BELONG TO HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

For vampires? They had such strength with them since the beginning, and they took time to learn and harness their own strength and be able to fight efficiently.

Look - I seem kinda contradicting myself rn but like -

JUST APPRECIATE THE VAMPIRES. That’s all I’m saying. Even if they are arrogant, and for those who hate them bc oooo humans gotta win - just remember, they DO have a right to be arrogant. They do!

Not only that, but they DO have morales of their own - like speaking honestly, all they’re doing is looking out for their own kind. It’s HUMANS who are the strange ones, caring about other creatures/species different from their own. Don’t some individuals of our society treat animals (dogs, cats, farm animals, even each other) different based on “ranking”? It’s basically the same thing happening here with the vampires and humans - the reason the vampires are cruel and rough with the humans is, well, they’re weak - and friendly reminder: THEY DID END THE FUCKING WORLD.

I mean jesus, just imagine you living your life as you always do, peacefully and calm - then one day, all of that is taken from you bc one other group decides to fuck up and mess around - all for the sake of GREED.

Yes, I get it, there are some good humans there who disapproves of what their own kind does and tries to fight for the good/sake of the world - and that for the most part, the vampires’ cruel treatment etc. etc. is rather uncalled for and they can learn to tone it down a bit.

Just give the vampires at least some credit and respect for what they’ve done before all the chaos happened. I mean, if said to be true, humans could’ve EASILY taken over humanity ANYTIME they wanted - but they didn’t. Why? Surprisingly, vampires are actually rather a peaceful race, and they like to keep to themselves as well as keeping their numbers small - and the real root/truth behind that reason is bc they’re CURSED, and they don’t want it to be spreading to anyone else and only keep it within themselves.

Honestly I can go on and on about the vampires, not just about their strength and stuff - but just a lot about them that no one really notices/takes into account that shows in all honesty, they are BETTER than the humans -

But I’ll leave it at this.

Okay so you’re going to probably have a long post later about this episode’s stages but I just watched them and I have things to say. Okay so it really seems like in the dance stage the SKZ/ATZ/BTOB team didn’t deviate from your run of the mill idol dancing and they treated this stage like they did any other even going as far as recording their own vocals and having the usual yeeting yourself at someone (which I thought turned out pretty awkward every time they did it) while the SF9/IKON/TBZ team focused solely on the dance and really pushed themselves to not do kpop dancing. Idk man but in a stage meant to showcase your dancing I personally would have used it as an opportunity to do something different so I’m very partial to the SF9/IKON/TBZ performance. It was interesting, it was different, and I’m a fan of the traditional Korean style. There was a storyline that I only got from the comments because pea brain but I didn’t feel like I needed it to get there was a story. Like there was a clear movement of character and narrative that I got when we were moving on and what the different sections were that not having the exact details didn’t bother me and it still held its own without the story. Next, I’m so sick of these edgy wolf concepts. SKZ did it in the 100 sec intro and that was one too many times. Like my guys if you’re going to try and kill each other there are plenty of other ways. Also I’m not a fan of having so many people there. Like I guess the advantage of having a lot of people would be to have interesting formation changes but I don’t think they took advantage of that so it just kind of diluted the dance and made it like any kpop choreo instead of highlighting specific members and riding on their performing strengths. The one thing I’ve got to shoutout from the SKZ/ATZ/BTOB performance though was fucking Peniel. WHAT WAS HE DOING THERE?!? Like I guess they didn’t want to put him on rap and BTOB only have three members competing this round but like I feel kinda bad for him being slotted in with the fourth gen groups. I mean he tried to hold his own and it was an admirable effort (like he didn’t drag them down or anything but there’s a clear difference between them which is understandable). Though the thing with the leashes was pretty iconic, random as hell but good for him. Last thought: MNET what the hell is up with the lighting. How are we supposed to enjoy the performance if we can’t see jack shit.

hahaha yea i will have a long review up in the next several hours (probably) but thank you for sharing!! i will definitely be talking about a bunch of the points you brought up here! i can definitely see how people would prefer the sf9/tbz/ikon stage and i do think it was a better and more well constructed stage, but also it's worthwhile to point out that these stages were showcasing two very different types of performance style. i think the choice atz/skz/btob made to tackle a cover (of an extremely iconic song, for starters) rather than something instrumental or one of their own songs was pretty smart, because for ateez and skz, theyre much stronger group performers; they don’t really have any standout technical soloists. at least at the moment, theyre still young groups. as i formulate an answer to this im realizing that i also want to talk about this in my actual review so i wont get into the specifics about that right now whoops lol. basically sf9/tbz/ikon actually have the standout soloists to do the kind of stage that they did, plus the inclination to do that kind of stage in the first place. also regarding peniel im like, 75% sure he is actually part of the dance line in btob, so it did actually make sense for him to be there, even though he’s got a different style and like, at least five years on everyone else in the unit lol.

as far as the lighting goes, im pretty sure its done independantly by designers that are contracted by each group, because there’s been too great a variety so far between the stuff thats terrible and the stuff thats really good. it would be an INSANE work load to have only one team hired by the network/producers doing six massive stages a week, especially with the extensive projection work. i could be wrong, but i geniunely dont think the shitty lighting is mnets fault here hahaha

cosplayed: tsukasa, breakfast: ramen, snack: one (1) root beer lollipop

for future me only. also, disclaimer: im writing this at 5 am while extremely tired afte waking up from being asleep at my desk. i forgot a lot of specifics in all that time since i left the con n most of his is mediocre.

so i arrived at 10 am for the ha!kyuu panel only yo go to the panel room and see that it had been canceled (the panel name was crossed out n “cancelled” was written next to the panel name) so i had woken up early for Nothing bc i also had no panel at 11 so i had 2 free hrs to kill. i also checked the room where the UT panel was supposed to b happening in bc i like UT n had nothing to do, but there was no one in the room so.. unfortunately, my stomach started hurting rly bad, so a good chunk of that time was spent w me sat on the floor near a wall thingy or walking slowly. unfortunately the dealers room hadnt been opened yet so i just sat around then when the dealers room opened i started to wander a bit more. i didnt take a lot of photos bc my energy and socialness was kinda drained due to the stomachache pain so like. rip.

then there was the dd-lc panel! in it, some guy in the audience offered natsuki snack bars (n she took one, as well as gave one to yuri) after calling her “the starving one”, and ome guy said “natsuki, your dad’s a dick. can i adopt you” n went up to the panel table n sifned a piece of paper monika wrote on that was ‘adoption papers’ and he gave natsuki a hug n called her his daughter for the rest of the panel. some guy dared natsuki to rip a page out of her manga (she had 2 books of manga on the table) n she actually DID rip out a page, and not a useless one like the “you’re reading the wrong way” page, either. the audience was like “why!!” n she n monika were like “i’m/impulsive!!”. natsuki was frequently referred to w “baby” (as im “she’s baby”) throughtout the panel. everyone thought yuri was the most fashionable when asked on a truth. sayori was asked how it was “hanging” and what her favorite brand of rope was.

That is out of what I can afford. The one I can afford is only $219 a month but has a $7500 deductible which would have to be met for any benefits and there is a $12,500 out of pocket maximum. If I got very sick I would be wiped out with that one, so it seems that I am in a Catch 22. I don't make that much money ($8 and $10 for the 2 jobs where I work 24 and 18 hours a week respectively.) The one day I actually don't spend my life in the lab and I'm away from my laptop and my phone's dying and everybody is messaging me! I've never felt so popular... But obviously the desperation to stay was real for Dani with a few missed Skype calls I noticed once I got my phone plugged in. I'm happy with y current position but the thought of me potentially being at the bottom of the totem pole in my alliance is definitely in my mind. Richie has approached me but I feel like that's out of desperation to stay in the game. I think I'm going to message people individually in my alliance to see what I can get out of it in terms of reassurance...

well...... last round i was so suspicious that things weren't going to go well and i was right which sucks... there was a big thing where dani wanted to take out tara and tim wanted to take out lynn so i was trying so hard to work on that situation to nail down the plan before doing anything else and then all of a sudden tim was like "i got the votes to get rid of lynn" and i was like....?????? and then he said he had tara and i was like !?!?!?!!?!!!!!???? and i was trying to seem trusting of tim bc im still probably on thin ice from the raffy vote and he assured me that everything was in place but i should have done more and then the votes came in and it was a tie and i tried to get eric but he ignored me and i was like fuck bc i knew tim wouldnt risk rocks for dani so shes gone and now blake/lynn/tara are all still here and all i have now is tim and phoenix and me and phoenix havent talked since l i t e r a l l y day 3.... i knew i had dani and dani had phoenix but now shes gone its like.... fuck
