-> General Stuff Petra is built like a rectangle with enough muscle to make you experience regret swifter than you may have ever thought you could.

Rips in her clothes aren't super uncommon and she isn't usually super quick to mend them unless its basically ruining the garments. Carabiner. This woman is GAY. If you don't know the full meaning go look for it :) Easy attachment to weapons and tools, Miss Butter is probably akin to a prized possession everything considered; With as much as she's used having mending was a must, but truth be told she's probably about as kitted out as you'd expect end-game diamond gear to be. That sword is never going anywhere if Petra can help it. Especially after the stint with Stella basically stealing her. She has a lot of scars, from a lot of different sources between smaller bumps and scrapes, explosions, enemies... the Wither Storm. Petra's wither sickness in particular was almost deadly, and the damage it'd done to her body never fully went away. The veins in her arm remained discolored around the scar, and the arm is mildly weaker than it would've been pre-withered though through steady use is basically back to being good as new. Petra's lungs also never fully recovered, a mild chronic cough left in its wake, though gets worse whenever Petra is sick and her body is weak again. Speaking of... -> Wither (Sickness) Wither typically enters the body through a physical wound and spreads through the circulatory system. Affecting the blood, it attacks and weakens the inflicteds organs and continues to be spread further by the heart simply doing its job. Variant Two is caused by contact to the Wither Storm (See: What happened to Gabriel.) The wither storm is not the only way to get sick with wither, but is the worst and long lasting. From weakest to strongest: Wither roses - Wither Skeletons - The Wither - Wither Storm. Injuries from all but the Wither Storm will eventually run their course as it doesn't have a consistent source to keep pulling from; thanks to its use of the command block, this does not apply to the Wither Storm. Wither acts similarly to being poisoned, though it acts slower, its side effects and danger are far worse, and dying cannot be ruled out of possibilities even for the weakest source of it. Untreated wither will kill the inflicted if they become too weak before the body can get it out of its system. -> Relationships Generally Petra is very much a provider, she cares intensely for people she's close to and enjoys doing acts of service for them. Her relationships mean a lot to her, and it tends to lead to her putting all of herself into the people she cares about; sometimes for better or for worse. Lukas and Petra have been friends for awhile, well before either of them knew about Jesse and his friends. While not exactly childhood friends, they've known each other long enough to know each other and certainly act the part.

Petra and Stella didn't always have a strained relationship, in fact when they'd first gotten to know each other things were great. Stella respected Petra's capabilities, found her affinity for exploration and her skill in combat to be amazing. Though over time, it became less admiration and more of manipulation, Petra was an easy source of loot Stella both couldn't and didn't want to get on her own... and who better to turn to than the explorer who loved her. Things did not end on good terms between the two, and ended very bitterly given even after Petra gave her another chance she was subjected to getting tricked into doing work all over again. (S2) Petra has a fond admiration towards Olivia, though believing at most that the girl could use a bit more guts and trust in her own abilities; after all she's done things most of the rest of the group couldn't even with all the time in the world! Really a brains and brawn type situation, and the two often bounce off of each other a bit. Olivia appreciates having the company, and someone who even if she doesn't fully understand whats going on is intent to help get the materials to make it possible if need-be, in return Petra has been able to pick up bits of knowledge, the way redstone works at least in its bare minimum and some of the internals of more machinery in Redstonia. ...While the she might never fully utilize that knowledge, it makes Olivia happy to have someone else in the group be attentive and care about what makes her happy. Petra and Jesse have also been very close, though it did take some time for her to warm up to the way Jesse was so... enthusiastic to even be recognized by her sometimes. Though, through everything the two know they can rely on one another to have each others back. Though neither of them could ever see each other romantically, it's still an undeniable how fundamentally close they'd become. It's definitely more than just a friendship, but neither of them could probably concisely tell you anything about their relationship on a level past "Well, we aren't dating..." Even in light of the others having different responsibilities to tend to, Jesse was still there; The adventures didn't have to end, and they didn't, and Petra wasn't alone because of Jesse's willingness to go with her on whatever excursion she needed to, or wanted to. - If you read all of this ur a real one... three thousand wither storms upon you as thanks 💜

"marn i missed sgdq 2024 what should i watch"

hi i decided i'm doing another one of these. it's been a minute. this past week was summer games done quick, an annual speedrunning marathon raising money for doctors without borders and also a great way to get into watching speedrunning. a lot of their content is tailored towards being both clearly explained and fun to watch for an audience outside the speedrun community, so you can jump in with basically no knowledge besides “this person is gonna play a game really fast”.

gdq has the full week's worth of vods up as a playlist on their channel, but here are some runs that i personally think you should check out:

ken griffy jr presents mlb by peanut butter the dog: look it's a dog playing baseball. i don't know what else to tell you.

the entire silly block: speedrunners get up way too early in the morning/late at night to play games that feel like a fever dream. some of the commentators are going on 24 hours of no sleep. it's brilliant. my personal highlights of what i've seen so far are stuart little 2, mad panic coaster, city bus simulator race, and the golf it wrong hole only race that the players dressed up as golfers for

alan wake 2 alan%: alan wake clips through walls and generally has a bad time while a bunch of gamers call him a sopping wet catboy. the runner for this one is really charismatic and it's very funny to see staff rushing to open up the pit as soon as we sing starts (yes they do the dance of course they do the dance). i just love joyful runs of horror games man

super mario 64 blindfolded randomizer: what if you played mario 64 blindfolded and also the stars were in completely random locations. and also you had to do it very very fast.

kingdom hearts 2 critical any%: every kh2 speedrun i've ever seen is a work of art and this one is no different. some of the boss fights go down so fast you will literally miss them if you look away for a minute. and also two of my favorite runners are on couch commentary!

balatro showcase: genuinely made me rethink how i'm playing some of the balatro decks. also great commentary and just fun all around despite (or perhaps partially because of) the absolute struggle session going on with plasma deck in the beginning

super mario world kaizo relay: kaizo is a shorthand term for a game hacked to its absolute limits of difficulty that often requires strict precision of movement and can punish the player for thinking they're smarter than it. in this segment, two teams of 4 very very good mario runners race to complete 8 kaizo levels they've never seen before in their lives

mario maker 2 troll level race: i always like the mario maker races for the same reason i like the kaizo relays. i love watching two speedrunners thrown blindly into the shit have to make up strategies on the fly via trial and error (and error, and error, and error, and...)

kirby air ride race: two high level kirby air ride speedrunners race for an actual physical title belt. the trash talk game happening here is of the insane variety that only two very skilled people who truly respect each others' talents at their game of choice can provide

kaizo mario galaxy: what if mario galaxy hated you even more than usual and would stop at nothing to kill you. also most of the commentators are only familiar with the vanilla game and their reactions to the added-in bullshit are hysterical

tony hawk pro skater 1, 2, 3, and 4: i fell asleep watching this and woke up in a cold sweat to the sound of a bunch of people singing superman by goldfinger. good run

super mario rpg remake: this was the finale block and it's just great to see a bunch of people who really really love the original mario rpg get to hang out and talk about how good it is and also watch a world record level player absolutely stunt on the game

halo 3 four-player co-op legendary: dudes rock

So I'm gonna admit, I had a moment of weakness when I saw the "brothers" line because to each their own, enjoy what you want, but that's not really my cup of tea if you catch my drift. But I sat and thought it over and came out the other side with an even greater appreciation for TreyRid.

And I've just!! Gotta ramble. For all the people I see saying we were robbed.

Trey seeing Riddle as an incredibly smart little brother highlights the importance of their bond in that moment--and just in general really. It's different from just being close friends, it's not often you reach that level of connection and start seeing another person as not just friends, but family without a deep trust and enjoyment of each other, especially from someone who does have actual blood siblings he also really cares about. It's not romantic (right now) but he loves Riddle so much that a large portion of the changes in Trey's dream are literally about wanting him to be happy.

He knew this kid for all of 3-ish months before they were separated, and yet he held on to his memories of Riddle for so long that he went around excitedly talking about him to all his dorm mates! You have not seen hide nor hair of this dude for almost a decade how are you still this devoted to him (it's partially The Trauma oops). And then if that wasn't enough, he spent the entire previous year trying and failing to reforge some kind, ANY KIND of friendship from square 1 while effectively treading water with managing the dorm. He didn't volunteer for this! He could've easily decided nah, screw this, I wanna support him as a regular student instead of vice and either quit the job or, if drastic measures felt needed, peaced out to Octavinelle or some other dorm! But he stayed, and he tried to make it work!

And now post-blot they're getting there, they're both aware they missed each other and that the distance was from repressed feelings rather than a bond broken. They're goofing around again, facing off in games and eating lunch together as a casual thing and just enjoying each other's company. They're letting their feelings show more often (ex: Riddle admitting to feeling like a burden in the Savanaclaw novel after Trey gets hurt). According to Cater they're often together, likely even before Riddle's overblot. There's still so much work they need to do, they're both still deeply traumatized (again thank you Cater lol mvp) and need time to come to terms with what happened. But even though it's only been a few months since they've been back on friendly terms, Trey still admits he holds Riddle to this high familial regard. Trey overtly loves and cares about Riddle SO damn much, and that's canon! Like this might be the most blatant it's ever been stated from Trey's end! Unless I'm being a fool and forgetting! Which I might be!

And here's the thing, they're both still young! Not even out of school yet! And feelings change over time. Sometimes those familial feelings do grow into romantic ones, and sometimes they remain familial. It's a slowburn ship, where as they continue to gradually pick apart and wipe down and stitch up those traumas, those feelings can morph into romance as they watch the other grow and heal. And that's coming from someone who loves exploring a romantic dynamic while they're still in school together heeheehoohoo.

Maybe Trey gets feelings as Riddle pulls away from his mom and matures, heals physically and mentally, the need for coddling fades. Maybe he ends up realizing that the way his heart races when he sees Riddle smile is different from when Chenya smiles, has always been different, and he wasn't able to recognize it until he worked through some of that Mrs Roseheart trauma. Maybe he already knows there's romantic potential there but also knows neither of them are ready for that sort of thing yet. Maybe it ends up being a lifelong queer platonic partnership. There's so many possibilities for their bond it's making my head spin.

I could go into the details of how Chenya being housewarden instead is a change made as a means to an end regarding both his yearning for his friend there to help in the previous year and how denying Riddle the role lets him be free from the pressure and weight of expectations, rather than overt dissatisfaction with Riddle's as a leader (thank you Ortho for that little addition). Or how Trey realizing that Riddle---the QUEEN---always gets the first tart slice was what helped him wake up on his own. But I think I've made my point.

TreyRid wasn't robbed, it was gifted an amazing foundation to build off of, maybe a few steps away from Trey just outright saying he wants to lick whipped cream out of Riddle's mouth.

Some thoughts on Dragon Age Veilguard a couple weeks after playing/reviewing it.

Something came to my attention. I need to make it crystal clear that I utterly love the diversity in DAV. It's fantastic. I'm also a heavily left leaning, non-binary, queer as fuck reviewer, editor, and author.

Please be safe and take care of yourselves. Arguing with incels and white supremacists is completely pointless. They sea lion worse than an actual sea lion. Your mental health is important.

Though, every single time the anti-queer brigade comes out for a new DA game, I sit there thinking 'have you bozos ever played any DA game, like, ever?' My guess is nope.

Note: My reviews for DA and my blog posts about DAV in particular aren't edited. I don't have the time, energy, or heart to edit them properly.

It's been 16 days since I finished DAV.

And sadly, my opinion still hasn't changed. Especially after learning about Joplin from my friend's artbook. (Joplin is the original concept and art concepts for the game. It had so much we were all really desperate to see. It was gorgeous. And they scrapped it.)

I don't know why they scrapped it, it was exactly what so many of us wanted.

Honestly? I don't care why. I'm sick of all the excuses people keep making for BioWare turning out such a shitty game.

Were there reasons and difficulties I don't know and will never know about? There usually are.

But those things are honestly irrelevant when it comes to producing a quality product.

I work my ever loving ass off to make sure my books are good. And I don't have a team to help me and a 250 million dollar budget. I do everything myself because I have to.

Indie studios turn out fantastic games with cool worlds, good fighting systems, and interesting monsters all the time. With some help and some budget, sure. But not likely on the scale of what they had for DAV.

I'm both a creator and an editor. When you're making a product for sale, it's incredibly foolish to change a series title too much from what worked before. Sure, fix problems, streamline stuff, but people generally don't play RPGs for anything past the worldbuilding, writing, story, and characters. There's action RPGs, sure. I'm playing one now and loving it (Greedfall).

It's a solid RPG that feels like an RPG. (DAV did not.) The fighting system works. The companions are actually useful. They kill bad guys all by themselves! It's quite refreshing tbh.

When you're creating something for fun, sure, do what the fuck ever you want as long as it isn't harmful to someone else. (Don’t put words in my mouth. By harmful, I mean specifically things like racism, sexism, ableism etc. Not whether someone dislikes the colour green and thinks the word 'triggered' means unhappy or uncomfortable. It doesn't. It's specifically a needed mental health term.)

When you're creating a product for sale, you make decisions. IE. I chose to write a reverse harem series. That's a choice influenced by the business reality that my queer books hardly sell at all.

I still love the characters and world I built, still love the plot etc. But it was still a decision on my part. Because my work of words is my only income. I'm disabled and recovering from a pulmonary embolism. My partner is recovering from a broken back and has at least one, possibly two more surgeries to go. We don't get very much help from anywhere. Money is so tight it squeaks. I'm hoping with the decision to write m/f reverse harem, my sales will improve (They already have with only two books out. Third before end of year.)

So. No. No more excuses for BioWare. They've always, from rumour, had a lot of control over the games they make, even if EA does pollute the studio by owning it.

Someone made the choices that resulted in such a shitty game. Someone approved the terrible (in some cases, racist, sexist, and ableist) writing. Someone thought the editing was just fine (it really really is not).

Someone (likely Epler given what he's said in interviews) decided that it was a good idea to Disney-fie the most recent addition to an adult, dark fantasy game that has historically delivered a lot of horror elements. While somehow condescending to kids at the same time.

Someone decided to remove so many of those dark fantasy elements. It's especially obvious in the not-fucking-darkspawn. They made them goofy, not scary and vaguely horror inspiring. But it's all throughout the game.

Someone made decisions. Those decisions made an awful game.

Someone decided tying your companions' skill points acquisition to their level of bond with you was a good idea. Maybe it looked good on paper. I don’t honestly care. It made it nigh impossible to get them high enough to be actually useful. Meaning your OP character always has aggro. Fine, I guess, if you're a tank player, but what about the rest of us?

Someone decided to remove blood splatter from a freaking BioWare game.

Someone decided to go with that wretched art style.

Someone decided nerfing the rogue class was a good idea. Why even have them? They're just light skirmishers, not rogues. Without, y'know, the rogue skills that make a rogue.

It was a decision, each and every time.

Someone decided everything about that game.

So miss me with the excuses.

I would like actual reasons, but I highly doubt we'll ever get them.

Someone made unwise and often foolish decisions during development of DAV. The results are clear.

Simply by the fact they aren't releasing sales numbers... that indicates it's probably not doing well. Larian basically called their earnings for BG3 out weekly.

It mostly just makes me sad now. DAV could've been fantastic. Because of decisions human beings in positions of power made, DAV, while having some good parts, just sucks.

Maybe this is a bit unnecessary, but I keep seeing posts that kind of compete on this topic so I wanted to bring it up.

There seems to be a bit of a debate right now going on about whether Veilgaurd got the lore right. And the arguments on both sides seem to be comparing apples to oranges to me? I think it's because simplifying the subject to just "The Lore" is doing a bit of a disservice to the conversation.

I've seen a lot of posts about how people who don't think the lore is right weren't paying attention, didn't read the codexes, hadn't caught on to the foreshadowing. Usually this is in regards to the Titans, Evanuris, Executors etc.

The thing is, I'm running in a fairly critical circle at the moment, and I've not seen anyone bring these points up. From my experience, this is not what people are referring to when they say the game didn't do a good job with the lore. As a long-term codex lover, I was overall really satisfied with all the Big Reveals. Most of them I predicted. I got a lot of enjoyment and vindication out of Veilgaurd in that regard.

The "lore" that I think critical folk are referring to is really rooted in the world building. How the characters and the setting come across. This game acts, by and large, like the Southern Chantry has no hold in the places we visit. Like Cirlces don't exist. The word tranquil never comes up. Crows don't seem to have any skeletons in their closet. I'm not even opposed to them being shown in a brighter light than Zevran painted them. Dragon Age has always relied on narrator bias. But give me something to show that our currant narrators have their own biases. A lot about Tevinter in general falls into this as well. I think about coming into this game as a new player, and if they'd walk away with a solid grasp of the Dragon Age setting with the information they've been given.

Because of this, I don't think it's easy to blanket statement say they got the lore right or wrong because that depends entirely on what you're referring to with that word.

A - Alone Time

Let's start from the beginning. When 'Grant' first starting visiting the motel, he really didn't have any dreams/delusions/fantasies about having a love life, and since Steve always imagined he'd only have sex with someone he was able to court and know pretty well, he resigned himself to never finding someone until his exile ended. (Considering in canon, it never really ended, we see he had a point.)

Once something does develop between you, despite all odds, he gets to hope, and hope is a drug to Steve Rogers.

He doesn't have a lot of time where he's truly alone while bunking with Natasha and Sam--sometimes Wanda and Viz, too--so I feel like Steve has mastered the art of innocent imagination. When he thinks of you it's not graphic, not unless he can be in a separate room or, preferably, building than the rest of his group.

They all understand though. Each of them clammers for some distance as often as is safe.

Bathing marks the only real and consistent time Steve has alone, meaning you helping wash his hair in the tub counts as a double whammy to his fantasies.

There was a lot of crossover in his dreams that night since the association is too strong. He touches himself in the shower, you were in the bathroom with him, and thus, he dreamt of you touching him in the shower. He woke up to that being almost the reality, too, so that wet dream has been pretty consistently on repeat.

From that point on, the urge to imagine what could happen gets much worse. The group doesn't have a routine. They bounce from place to place and spend wildly different amounts of time in each location. To date, the motel is only one of three places they've stayed two times, and it is the only place they've gone back to more than twice. It's not fucking rocket science to understand what's so appealing to Steve that he nudges and hints at returning as often as is strategically plausible.

If by chance Steve actually gets a room to himself and is truly alone for a few hours, it's difficult not to take advantage, spread out, and sleep, however, but he sleeps even better after writhing around as a horny mess for about twenty minutes, working himself up, humping the mattress and his hand, moaning into the pillows like a whore (at least he thinks he sounds like those 'painted' women back in the '30s and '40s), and coming hard on his abs. He vaguely knows he's a glutton for punishment by how long he tries to milk his orgasm. It works though. He can last a bit longer now--even with the vivid memory of what it feels like to be inside you--yet he doesn't really need to last when his alone time is so limited. Should he...practice that? Should he be trying to hold out longer?

As I hope I've established many times, Steve Rogers in any universe can't talk dirty to save his life. He can lie better than he can say words like 'fuck,' or 'cunt,' and will never ever say the word 'pussy' in reference to your body or a cat (now that he knows what some people use the term for). I have no clue why 'cunt' would be better than 'pussy,' but 🤷🏻‍♀️ this is my headcanon so here we go. He uses any curse words so seldom that it doesn't really matter. He'd have to be pretty surprised by the intensity of something or at peak possessiveness to utter stuff like that. (If he has to reference it, usually he just says "you're so wet," "you're squeezing me so tight," or "do you need me?" Very general, no bad words required.)

As much as I ::melts:: love the idea of Steve getting louder when he's tired, he has grown to enjoy the thrill of being quiet and sneaky.

He's got to get his kicks somewhere, right? So he's almost trained himself to be completely silent (to the point of holding his breath, which is a whole other kink for way later) while he imagines that you can travel with them for some reason. It's a fantasy; he hasn't worked out the details. He'd still want to be buried inside you or fingering you till you come if you had to share a room with the group for a night. RORY I NEED OPINIONS (please)

Something popped up on my page and it was about Ghost.

The person who posted proceeded to say how they've had enough of the mischaracterization of him. And other people in the comments have said the same. How whenever they see Ghost written as a cold mean guy, they think, "oh you've never read the comics or played the games."

Now, I'm not here to bash anyone. I just wanna know what you think of people who write OOC {insert character}? Or what do you think about it in general?

Okay, this is one of the things that bothers me the most about the mainstreaming of fandom and fanfiction.

The whole point of fanfiction, is to write the characters however you want to write them. Fanfiction does not have to stick to how characters are presented in fandom. Some might choose to, others might not. Some might choose to in certain fics, and then not to in others. OOC exists as a term for a reason. It's okay. You can write/draw/headcanon/whatever any character however you want because that's your interpretation, or because it's how you want the character to be in whatever situation you're putting them in.

I know I said I was done talking about this, but this circles back around to the whole dark fic issue. "X character wouldn't do this" according to who? The fandom police? That's the whole point. The whole point of fandom and fanfiction is to present the characters however you want. That's always been its purpose. Fix it fics, OOC, crack ficks, dark fics, AUs exist for a reason. Not every character has to act exactly as they do in canon. If you want that, then just watch/read/play the canon media and stay out of the fanfiction side of fandom.

People that get all up in arms about FANFICTION not sticking to canon events and portrayals are ruining fandom. They are. People wonder why creators and fans are leaving fandom, it's because it's not fun anymore. You write a character how you want to write them and there's 50 people complaining in the comments about how "that's not how they are in canon." Yeah? And? That's the point. It's like whole ship thing with people being mad about fans shipping characters that aren't together in canon. News flash, people have been doing that for ages. Since the dawn of fanfiction. People ship characters that aren't even in the same movie or show or game. You gonna get mad about a crossover fic because it's "not canon?"

If you can't accept that FANDOM and FANFICTION aren't always canon compliant then you need to not be in these spaces. Leave us alone and stick to just watching the show/movie or reading the book or playing the game, whatever. You're ruining fandom spaces for everyone. Most of us creators have been in these spaces for a lot longer than the people ruining them. I've been involved in fandoms for 18 years now. Far longer than I should have been, and honestly, if I didn't love writing fanfiction and use it as an outlet for myself so I don't go crazy, I probably would have left too.

These pearl clutchers and mainstream people flooding into fandom that refuse to learn the "rules" and accept how things have been for literal decades are ruining fandom for the rest of us and killing people's passions for writing and creating. Us creators don't have to share. We do it because we want to and because we enjoy seeing others reactions and the interaction that comes from it. We are all very capable of just writing or drawing and keeping them to ourselves. Soon there won't be such a thing as fandom because all the joy will have been sucked out of it. Creators are already leaving in droves because interaction is down to nothing. Add on people getting mad about things that are normal in fandom and soon there won't be anything left. People will be complaining about there being no fandoms and no fanfiction and fanart and video edits and gifs, even though we've been screaming why from the high heavens for years.

Did you think they would tell somebody asking for breakup advice that they “missed the memo” and say they aren’t qualified to give advice on that? I also think it’s important to remember that what dan said in BIG (and phil said in one of his q&as, I think in 2021) about not divulging any information about their relationship was like, more than a couple years ago at this point, and before they brought back the gaming channel and entered into this new era. I know recently they have said “no that’s private ❤️” in that interview but that doesn’t really count because if they are going to hard launch they of course aren’t gonna do that in a random magazine interview

I also said this in another post (I think when I was talking about marriage hill 💀💀 lmao) but I think too that the way they have talked about keeping their private life private is very indicative of the relationship they’ve had with their fans and the internet as a whole. Dan said in BIG he didn’t want to talk about his relationships bc he wants to be able to fuck up in private, and phil said that he wants to keep that to himself bc it’s hard to close that door once it opens. Those are points of view that come from years of fans and other ppl alike constantly trying to prove this and that about you and your relationship. I don’t mean this in a disparaging way, because I think it was accurate for the time they said these things, but it’s a view that is formed by poor boundaries with your audience. I think it’s obvious (to me) that in recent years but especially the past year, they really have gotten a grip on like, how to create boundaries btwn themselves and their content, their fans, the general public, etc. because they are more in control now of their public image than they ever have been, I wouldn’t be shocked if some of their fears they had before have dissipated. I think now they’ve figured out to share what they wanna share and how to be like “no stfu” when people come digging for more

so that’s all to say, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if their opinion on being explicitly out about their relationship has changed, because even if they come out with that they’d still feel like they can control how much of it they share

agsusjdj well the extent of my worldbuilding regarding sticky transfluid was really just that it's for breeding purposes and that's all I need to know.

i think, if transfluid is only produced by spikes then valve oral is not an issue, and perhaps if you are sucking spike, it's best to swallow because the transfluid quickly loses it's sticky quality in the fuel tank. the anon did also say that it's only a matter of pulling out quickly so you really only get stuck if your pull out game is weak, so it's not entirely unavoidable in terms of hookups or orgies. and hey, if they've always had it, it wouldn't probably be too annoying, since they're used to it.

So, I'm laying in bed, waiting for the painkillers to kick in, with an ice pack strapped to my knee, and I'm letting my mind wander. And I'm thinking about Warhammer 40k, because of course I am, this is what I do when I'm bored and in pain.

While laying here, I got to thinking: when were the first "official" conflicts between humanity and the all the other Xenos factions? So I'm just delirious enough to be like "let's figure this shit out."

And I'm already needing to start off with a mulligan, because the Orks, the Eldar, and the daemons of Chaos have always been ubiquitous in the Warhammer galaxy ever since humanity first walked upright, so trying to pin down "first contact conflict" is a mugs game. It would all be pre-Dark Age of Technology. Who the fuck knows for sure.

So who else is there: in terms of "major" Xenos factions (that is: armies with a codex), we got the Tyranids, the Tau, the Necrons, and the Leagues of Votann. Which is less than I hoped, but about what I expected for James "SPESS MEHREEN" Workshep.

So: the Tyranids. The First Tyrannic War was in 745.M41. However: if we really want to be specific and pedantic (and I do), then the first time the Imperium ran into the Tyranids was "sometime" around 500.M41 when genestealers were first encountered on the moons of Ymgarl. Then again, I'm not actually sure we should count that, considering that the Imperium wouldn't even make that connection themselves until much later.

Next: the Tau. Technically first "contact" was in 789.M35, when an AdMech explorator ship, Land's Vision, found the planet that would eventually be named Tau, and recorded a primitive species that had mastered simple tools and fire. But because that planet became inaccessible due to a warp storm, and the records got lost in the chaos of the Age of Apostasy, we (again) probably shouldn't count that. First real conflict was the Damocles Crusade, between 742.M41 and 745.M41... and it only ended because the Tyranids showed up.

Moving on: the Necrons. Technically, they've been "around" even longer than the Eldar. But they've mostly all been fucking asleep in their tomb worlds, except for a select few who woke up early (looking at you Trazyn). So, really, if we're ignoring shit like Szarekh the Silent King returning from his self imposed exile in response to the Tyranids showing up (are we noticing a pattern here?), first "official" conflict with the Imperium was the Sanctuary 101 massacre in 897.M41.

And finally: the Leagues of Votann. And, again: they've been "around" for who knows how long. It's heavily implied that their generation ships left Earth for the galactic core before even the Dark Age of Technology. But they mostly kept to themselves and didn't venture outside the holds in the galactic core until Cadia exploded and the Cicatrix Maledictum cut the galaxy in half, forcing them to leave. Finally, an "alien" faction being introduced to the setting that has nothing to do with the fucking Tyranids.

And, y'know... looking at all that? That really does kinda put in perspective why everything seems to have gone to shit in 40k, doesn't it?

Between the end of the Horus Heresy in 014.M31 and the start of the Damocles Crusade in 742.M41, the only things the Imperium of Man had to really worry about were Orks, Eldar, daemons, and renegades/traitors. Like, none of that is great (and a lot of it is self inflicted), but that kind of setup seems manageable. The Eldar never show up in huge numbers, and daemons require incredibly specific circumstances to even manifest outside The Warp. Hell, even the Orks for most of that time are basically just a nuisance, since a warboss on the scale of Urlakk Urg wouldn't be seen till Ghazgkull. Really, the most dangerous thing the Imperium had to worry about during that stretch of time was regular humans rebelling (rightfully so) in the face of the Imperium being a nightmarishly oppressive theocratic fascist state.

That's 10,000 years or so that you could almost call relatively stable, where the vast majority of issues were problems that it inflicted on itself. Business as usual.

AND THEN

In the span of just over 250 years, there's several wars with the Tau, the Tyranids show up over and over again, the Necrons start waking up, and... then the Leagues of Votann are also here now lol

Something, something, decades where nothing happens, and weeks where decades happen, etc.

ᯓ★ Him and Wendy have officially broken up due to his drinking problem, it was Wendy that made the decision for the sake of both of them.

ᯓ★ There was a lot more issues with their relationship besides this of course, everyone knew there was no use in dragging a dead horse around and expecting it to gallop.

ᯓ★ Kyle is his designated person to pick him up from parties. Calista and Wendy often coming along cause Stan gets a little rowdy when getting him home.

ᯓ★ Stan's gotten into arguments with Calista cause she hates to see him drunk. She's been planning on an intervention for him.

ᯓ★ Wendy comes along to help because she still feels that Stan is her responsibility even though they've already split.

ᯓ★ Stan struggles with communication, opting to hide his problems until it blows up in his face and is forced to confront them.

ᯓ★ As much as he knows his relationship with Wendy was toxic for the both of them, he can't help but miss how simple it used to be between them.

ᯓ★ He's insecure about having to mature mentally faster than most of his friends because of his mental health struggles.

ᯓ★ Kyle's been getting into a lot of organization and management games lately. His top ones are House Flipper, Powerwash Simulator, Unpacking and The Sims.

ᯓ★ Likes to rearrange and redecorate his room a lot, every month its a different layout every time with one new addition adding to the charm of his room.

ᯓ★ Has a certain fondness for MOBA Games, particularly League of Legends. Extremely passive aggressive when his team/friends aren't performing well. Favorite roles are Jungler and ADC.

ᯓ★ Has also gotten close with Tolkien as friends over the years, they still do the occasional TikTok every once in a while.

ᯓ★ Kyle drinks his respect women juice. Extremely respectful and the literal definition of Boyfriend Material.

ᯓ★ Somehow he's still single??? He doesn't wanna think about it, the fact haunts him at night.

ᯓ★ You can leave your drink with him and he'd be like a guard dog, keeping it safe from anyone slipping anything into it.

ᯓ★ Quite literally the voice of reason for his friends. Tries his hardest to keep them out from doing dumb shit but he gives up eventually. Can't expect stupid not to do stupid. *cough cough* Eric *cough cough*

ᯓ★ A decent cook! Sheila insisted he learn because he babysits Ike so often whenever her and Gerald are out of the house.

ᯓ★ He wears a white tank top under his shirt and occasionally wears a gold chain and a few rings to connect more to his Jersey side.

ᯓ★ Kyley-B still lives within him, he's gotten more control over that side of him. It only ever comes out when he's extremely angry, his accent comes out a bit.

ᯓ★ He likes wearing his expensive air forces his dad bought him to school, it's his few humble brags.

ᯓ★ Has started wearing his hat less cause Calista commented that he looked better with his hair out.

ᯓ★ The first, most responsible driver out of the group. You can take naps when he's driving and abides by the traffic laws.

ᯓ★ Puts a lot of thought behind how he dresses. He pretty much just dresses smart.

ꜱᴄʜᴏᴏʟ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Kyle is definitely a top student, just a few steps behind Wendy. Gets a lot of As and the occasional B in his cards.

ᯓ★ He's popular like the rest of his group of friends, more particularly with the girls and his whole schtick of being a smart kid.

ᯓ★ Kyle is the type of student who's easy to get along with because he radiates a friendly energy. He's the most approachable out of his group of friends.

ᯓ★ Dude is definitely in the debate club, likes arguing with people, gets a lot of tips from Gerald on how to overpower your opponent and dismantle their argument.

ᯓ★ Despite being in the debate club, he's a varsity basketball player of the South Park Cows. He never gave up on it and had grown a lot taller over the years!

ᯓ★ Never let him tutor you, he would take it too seriously and gets hot headed when you don't follow, even if he did it as a friendly favor. Stan can attest to this unfortunately.

ᯓ★ Wendy offered him to be part of the school council but he rejected it in favor of focusing on basketball and debate club.

ᯓ★ Has the least amount of detentions out of his friend groups. He's a good noodle, somewhat ⭐️

ᯓ★ His favorite subject is History! He likes learning about the past and is curious about how things must've been like, besides the racism and extreme classism of course.

ᯓ★ His least favorite subject is also PE, he hates the extra exercise he gets.

ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Ike is in 4th grade now, the same age Kyle did most of the reckless shit he did.

ᯓ★ Don't worry, Ike's a good kid and has a lot more self control than Kyle had at his age.

ᯓ★ Ike's still into video games and he often plays with Kyle, COD and League are their frequent games. He's a good Support and Mid Laner.

ᯓ★ He has expressed his interest in going back to Canada when he's older, Kyle is supportive of his little brother as always.

ᯓ★ Kyle is a mama's boy whether he admits to it or not. He's taken up a lot of Sheila's mannerisms now that he's a bit older.

ᯓ★ Kyle still retains Gerald's personality traits, often being laid back and being the person who has to be the middle man to calm his friends down before things get heated.

ᯓ★ Sheila got a therapist now to deal with her anger! She's not as intense anymore but is still critical when it comes to her son's schooling and discipline.

ᯓ★ She was not happy to find out that he got his ears pierced without her permission. Gerald was chill about it and told him to take care of it properly.

ᯓ★ Gerald's comfortable as his job as a lawyer, he's been forbidden from trolling anymore after what happened. He's also strictly monitored whether he's having some withdrawals from cheesing.

ᯓ★ Kyle often hides that he drinks and smokes weed sometimes, he stays out a few hours extra to make sure he's sobered up and doesn't stink of the green.

ꜱᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇꜱ ᴀꜱ ᴀ ᴛᴇᴇɴ

ᯓ★ Kyle heavily struggles with his anger issues, it's something he has trouble controlling. He ends up in a yelling match with Eric almost everyday cause of something stupid he says.

ᯓ★ Stan, Kenny and Calista have no idea how the two of them have the energy to bicker at 10 in the morning.

ᯓ★ Kyle offended pretty easily, especially if it comes off as offensive even if it can be misunderstood.

ᯓ★ He often thinks that he's in the right cause most of the times he has logic and reasoning when it comes to decisions, but he often loses sense of that and makes his own dumb decisions.

ᯓ★ If he gets overwhelmed by anger, he will yell and scream, worse is if he gets physical when he knows this person can go up against him.

ᯓ★ Sheila has recommended her therapist to him but he doesn't wanna take it because he believes he doesn't need a therapist.

ᯓ★ Kyle is insecure that he's unlovable due to his history with girls.

ᯓ★ He's scared that he'll become a bachelor when he's older and doesn't end up marrying anyone.

ᯓ★ He also is scared about scaring his friends away if he can't control his anger enough.

ᯓ★ Kyle acts on his heart first before his brain most of the time, he lets his emotions get the better of his judgement and makes him lose all sense.

ᯓ★ He gets peer pressured very easily, having FOMO because his mom is strict on what activities he can't do.

ᯓ★ He hides a lot of his activities from his parents, scared of disappointing, or worse, angering them in the process.

ᯓ★ Burn out hits him like a truck and there are weeks where he doesn't wanna do anything and struggles to find motivation, his studying often fueled from his anxiety of getting a bad grade.

Who is Rubius?

Although Rubius' role will be different than regular participants, it seems like he'll be a big part of QSMP in his own way, so here's a rundown of who he is and his lore for people who aren't familiar with him!

Rubius is one of the biggest Spanish streamers. Like Vegetta, he's considered a major pillar of the Spanish community. Beyond video game streaming, he's done a lot of other content including comic books, anime, and various other projects with famous celebrities.

Time Magazine named Rubius "The leader of his generation"

Quackity was a huge Rubius fan growing up, and now they're very good friends!

Rubius is the reason Quackity was in Karmaland. He vouched hard for him and he was the one who convinced Vegetta to add him.

He's part Norwegian, and his community (lovingly) calls him "the Norwegian rat"

Rubius is bi! In real life, but also in the Karmaland series. :')

It appears that Rubius' role in QSMP will be similar to Sapo Peta's role in Karmaland. He won't be a "player", but a supporting character (whether a god, administrator, or something else, we don't know yet).

In terms of personality, both Rubius and his character tend to be agents of chaos. One time, he set the entire Karmaland server on fire. (In his defense, there was a backup, and more importantly: it was funny)

In Karmaland, Rubius is a man who's always chasing after power. He can be very manipulative and he often plays mind games. Even with the people he likes / considers a friend, he's still a bit of a bastard (/pos).

In Karmaland, Rubius and Luzu have a longstanding rivalry. In Karmaland 5, this rivalry was exacerbated by the fact that they were both interested in Quackity (albeit, in different ways).

An example of one exchange between Luzu and Rubius: Rubius: Technical question, what is the difference between a seal and a walrus? Luzu: The size, like the difference between your brain and mine, blondie.

Although his skin usually makes him look like a bear in a white hoodie, Rubius regularly changes his outfits in Karmaland. He's worn maid outfits, dresses, and various other clothing. He's very comfortable wearing whatever, but he does tend to pick very "feminine" clothing. A very popular headcanon is that (character) Rubius is genderqueer.

In Karmaland, Rubius' relationship to Quackity changed significantly over time. Although he originally played pranks on Quackity and blew him up with a mine, Quackity still had a soft spot for him, and they've had a "friends with benefits" relationship.

This post compares Rubius & Quackity's vs. Luzu & Quackity's relationship pretty well.

However, when Quackity's relationship with Luzu became strained after the elections, then turned into a full-blown war, Rubius supported him and stayed by his side, even giving Quackity an item that could call him for help whenever he was in danger.

Rubius and Quackity, despite their clashes, wound up becoming two people who can depend on each other.

During the peak of the revolution, Rubius offered to kill Luzu for Quackity, but Quackity turned him down.

Quackity clearly had feelings for Rubius (what kind of emotions? that's up to you) but Rubius didn't feel the same.

Although Rubius is a self-described slut on Karmaland, the person he loves most has always been Vegetta.

They have a... unique relationship. To TLDR it, they are the definition of a telenovela romance.

Rubius (lovingly) pokes fun at the community for the Rubegetta (Rubius x Vegetta) ship, but he's also a pretty big supporter of the ship himself.

I've discussed the Rubegetta ship a bit in Vegetta's post, but I'll expand on it here as well since it's very relevant to Rubius and his lore.

In terms of lore, Rubius and Vegetta love each other. It's canon. The problem is that neither Rubius nor Vegetta know what a healthy relationship looks like. The other problem is that Vegetta is (more or less) monogamous while Rubius is Decidedly Not.

Rubius and Vegetta have canonically gotten married. Rubius then immediately divorced him and revealed it was all a con to get Vegetta's diamonds. (It's worth noting that Rubius wanted a small wedding, and Vegetta sprung a giant event-worthy celebration on him without consulting him first. We don't know whether this influenced his actions at the wedding or not).

I do want to emphasize that even though Rubius and Vegetta sometimes have relationship issues / communication issues, it doesn’t diminish their friendship in the slightest. Even after both wedding disasters, they were back to speaking to each other the next week, being flirty and laughing together. Yes, they have issues, but their love for each other remains – despite everything.

(I should also note here that, even while engaged to someone else, Vegetta was still flirty with Rubius).

Rubius has a hard time expressing his true feelings, and has a difficult time letting people get close to him. When a character he considered a son died in Karmaland 5, he had a complete psychological breakdown and tried coping with the loss in very unhealthy ways. One of these ways included engaging in a sexual / romantic relationship with Sapo Peta, despite later confessing to Luzu in therapy that it made him uncomfortable (and no, he never discussed this with Sapo Peta directly because he cannot communicate his real thoughts or feelings to save his life).

Rubius is afraid of commitment. During one of the few times he's ever honestly expressed his emotions to Vegetta, he said: Rubius: I don't want to get hurt. I don't want to get my hopes up, and then get hurt. It's happened to me many times before. Especially here in Karmaland. Vegetta: Have you had lovesickness? Rubius: Yes. In Karmaland, everywhere, in real life... I'm already used to getting beaten. Vegetta: That's a pity... Rubius: I just want someone to take care of me, and that's it. I don't ask for much. Vegetta: I'm very protective... [ Full conversation with subtitles here ]

A few years ago, people stumbled upon a gif of two men making out that look EXACTLY like him and Vegetta. (It's such a striking resemblance that the community and even Rubius HIMSELF thought it was real).

Rubius immediately added this gif to his emotes and named it "Rubegetta"

He's also projected the gif onto his wall and bowed in front of it. Draw your own conclusions from that I guess.

Also: in Karmaland 4, Rubius and Vegetta had a kid together. His name was Brayan Dobluque! (A mix of both their names)

VoicePlay hopes/predictions for 2025

So it's very extremely hard to guess what songs VoicePlay will cover, because they can and will do basically anything and everything, and Geoff is relatively diverse in his solo stuff as well, but in terms of more general video/song concepts, I actually had a few wishes that came true in 2024! I wanted more of the guys (or at least just Geoff) wearing eyeliner, and we got Be Prepared. I wanted more of Geoff playing piano in a video, and we got Imagine as well as Wicked Game. I wanted more choreography stuff, and we got Thriller and Party Of Your Lifetime. And so with that in mind, I have just a few humble requests of things I would enjoy seeing/hearing on either channel in the new year! (And after reading through this list, I've realised that most of it is to do with Geoff specifically, oop-)

Another "Disney Princess Geoff" moment, like in We Don't Talk About Bruno or Christmas Don't Be Late. I'm not fussy on specifics, but please, let me have this, I know Geoff would be up for that kind of thing, and it would be the best, whatever it turns out to be *cough* Geoff in a dress *cough*

And for that matter, more of Geoff having some more colour in his outfits, please! Like yes of course he always looks fantastic in black, but I want more stuff to make fanart of where I can actually use colour in my art, dangit!

I would love love love to hear more of Rock Tenor Geoff. Doesn't have to be anything super high/dramatic, even if I just got to hear more of him singing like he did for that one bit of In The Air Tonight (you know the bit), please and thank you.

Another Disney song cover or Disney medley from VoicePlay! 1 because well I love Disney music, and 2 because they've done at least one Disney thing per year since at least like 2017 now? So I feel like this is a fairly reasonable prediction to make.

Geoff singing an actual proper love song, PLEASE! Like okay yes sure Till Then does count, and you could maybe count Way Down as well, but still, I want another! Anything swoon-worthy plz, it would live in my head rent-free for months and I'd be okay with that!

And speaking of Geoff solo stuff, I might as well make note of my hope for a Geoff original song! Multiple of us Patrons have been dreaming of the day, and maybe it'll come in 2025, and maybe it won't (it probably won't, but eh), but someday, surely! (But if/when it ever happens, it might easily become my favourite song of the year, and perhaps favourite ever?).

Oh and also not technically related to Geoff or VoicePlay's channels, but I'm also really hoping that Pattycake Productions finally completes and uploads the Halloween video that got delayed for two years! It's likely gonna be another Layne & Tony original song, and it's meant to be featuring Geoff! It was originally meant to happen in 2023, but it got postponed, and then it was gonna release in 2024, but it didn't happen again! So like for Halloween 2025, please let us see it!

WILDCARD: VoicePlay superhero video. Because the Patrons were talking on the Discord a handful of months ago about "gimmicks" that VP haven't done yet, and the concept of superheroes got a decent bit of discussion.
