2. What is your favorite canon thing about this character?

There's actually like so many things I love about him OMFG. Okay but maybe one of my favorites is that he's literally just a baby. I'm talking about the fact that he has to keep up appearances BUT what he really wants is just to have fun with his friends and to be approachable to people. I love dualities like that when it comes to villains especially, cuz you realize that Akashi's just human and all he wants are basic human things like being happy despite the lengths that he has to go through to keep himself together.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

When they write him ooc obviously LMFAO. And when they villanize him too much. Like he's just a little baby :( he just broken and he just needs some love. Oh and when they ship him with Momoi or Sakurai. Puke.

Well aside from Akashi x Sevonne (me), I have two. A few years ago I would have said AkaKuro, because obviously it just makes so much mf sense?? They were my otp back then. But right now I think my main favorite ship is MidoAka. They're best friends, they're very close and they both enjoy a lot of things together and they both are rich kinda so yeah I definitely MidoAka.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Maybe Akashi's friendship with Kuroko. I remember that one scene in the manga Extra Game where Akashi warns the team that he might have to whip out his lil brother in the middle of a game and tells them not to be scared. The rest of the GOM was like "oh thats it? Can I leave now?" but Kuroko says to Akashi "Akashi-kun is Akashi-kun." I love it when they actually mf humanize Akashi because he's actually mf human even though he's always depicted as this perfect human.

In the mood to give my weird, probably biased WOY hot take rn so here it goes: Wander and Hater would not last in a romantic relationship.

Like, I do GET the appeal of them as a pairing? It's enemies to lovers! Everybody loves a good enemies to lovers. Plus, WOY really LOVES doing that thing where they throw a LOT of romance coding into non-romantic relationships(Deathglare gets a lot of this too lmao), and Wander is just like. Weirdly flirty? With Hater especially but also just in general. Like I get the impression that that man fucks. He and Jeff have probably had a one-night stand. But I don't think their personalities are compatible for a long-term romantic relationship.

First of all: they're both really impulsive and flighty. Which I guess could work in a relationship if both partners were completely insync with eachother, but Wander and Hater. Aren't. They are not. Plus, putting two people with short attention spans together with nobody to keep them in check is a RECIPE for disaster. There's also Hater's temper, which I don't think any amount of character development would be able to take out completely, and Wander's penchant for frustrating. Everybody. He is a very frustrating person to be around. And while I don't think a long-term romantic SkeletonDance would turn ABUSIVE, like that is ABSOLUTELY taking it too far, I do think it would be VERY unstable. They have the EXACT wrong traits in common, and the traits they DON'T have in common just straight up don't mesh well. I could see them getting together impulsively, because there is some chemistry there, but eventually the relationship would deteriorate from a combination of opposing values and goals, mutual short attention spans, and Wander getting on Hater's nerves. They'd break up, and depending on the circumstances it could end up VERY MESSY. They work better, in the long term, as friends then as romantic partners.

SO, now to address my biases, because there are a few, and I think it's important to acknowledge any potential flaws in your perspective while making an argument. First one being: I just prefer other Hater ships? Like yall know me, I'm a Deathglare girlie til the end lmfao. They're LITERALLY my OTP, you can see the influence the pairing has had on me in pretty much every other ship I've obsessed over since. But like... I'm also a multishipper, and Deathglare isn't exempt from that. I don't have any alternate pairings for Peepers(because he doesn't really interact w/ anybody outside of the main 4 and Dom for some reason and I don't like him w/ any of them except Hater), but I DO have a pretty big one for Hater, and that's Skullhunter(Hater x Ripov). Idk I just think they're kinda cute! And uh. Also a rarepair. Like there's NO content for them omfg- probably because Ripov only had one episode and there are already much more popular Hater pairings... bUT I'm getting off topic, what does this have to do with my potential anti-Skeletondance bias? Well, both of my Hater ships are VASTLY overshadowed by Skeletondance. Like I think Skeletondance is the MAIN pairing in the WOY fandom, and both of my prefered Hater ships kinda get left in the dust, at least in terms of content volume. I believe that at least part of what leads people to hate on popular things in a desire to have what THEY like be mainstream so it's easier to find a community, and I am not exempt from that. I generally like to believe I'm neutral on Skeletondance overall, but there might be some subconcious jelousy directed towards people who prefer Skeletondance that makes me think the pairing just wouldn't work. Also, I headcannon Wander as aromantic, which definitely influences my interpretation of their relationship akrngosmfmekkfoemfke

So uh, yeah. That's why I don't think Skeletondance would work long term, plus a little dissection of things that might've skewed my perspective a bit! Idk why I made this tbh, I might be going insane-

Ok I managed to confirm that this KuroEne + Azami Christmas/Winter themed illustration comes from one of the Kagerou Daze Official Anthology Comics. The KagePro anthology comics are mainly drawn by KagePro fan-artists, but official KagePro artists, Sidu, Wannyanpuu, Mahiro Satou, and Sayuki, have also drawn stuff for the anthologies. So, these are licensed and approved by the official creators.

I managed to confirm it cuz the font that denotes the artist is the same throughout the Anthology comics.

Now the big question lies in WHICH anthology this comes from… Some of the illusts are posted on the KagePro fan-wiki, but not all of them.

Ene is carrying a giant red presents bag with a cat sitting on it so, honestly, thinking of a KuroEne idea where Ene is the Santa who goes around giving gifts is soooo cute.

Ene: Put the gun away, tough guy, it's CHRISTMAS!!!

Different anon but i think a lot of people fail to realize that Neji is such an emotional character and as a person in general. Yes he's stoic but he does portray emotion. People make him some sort of robot-tin man that's emotionless. He just struggles with emotions in general after years of resentment of the main house (which i don't blame him for at all he's just a bitter angry kid at the end of the day with trauma. I also think he probably has depression i mean if i were i his shoes fuck i would too) And the death of his faither curse mark you get the point.

Like he's a cancer for crying out loud! Cancers are emotional and also sensitive very loyal protective of their loved ones like that screams Neji! Neji is not some mean asshole like he's portrayed in fanfic works or any other take I've seen of him online. I cannot stand when people try to make him seem like he doesn't care for others. When he has shown concern plenty of times. Anyways sorry for the long rant i get too passionate when it comes to my fave characters being misinterpreted/mischaracterized

35. Who’s more artistic?

Oooh... They're both quite artistic creatures in their respective fields, so that's a bit of a toughie to answer. Obviously, meat boi Andi loves his human taxidermy and sculpting, though I'd like to headcanon him drawing with charcoal, mainly in his revertant ghoul days when he'd map out designs for his future face. He seems like he always had that creative streak in him that remained unwavering throughout centuries. Andrei is exceptional at making art just as he is at being a leader, though if he wasn't an archbishop, he'd definitely open up a gallery where art and human anatomy collide. It would be open to both Kindred and Kine (though they'll involuntarily contribute to the growing exhibits through "mysterious" means).

Gretchen, on the other hand, is more of a musical soul. Her nights as Kindred (especially in the beginning) would've been nothing without her guitar. Although she prefers electric, she doesn't mind sitting down and cranking up the somber mood with an acoustic. Her favorite places for that would be on high rooftops and just going at it while staring at the city with scorn.

They both very often express themselves artistically in each other's company by chilling in Andrei's basement, where he'd make furniture and various human ornaments while calmly listening to Gretchen singing and playing. And of course, with great intrigue, she'd also observe Andrei passionately engaging in his hobby through Vicissitude.

38. Who is more sexually experimental? Who’s more vanilla?

They're both freaky little assholes omfg. Andrei started out as vanilla, not really giving any thought as to what kinks are or what he'd like to try until Gretchen barged into his unlife, grabbed his big ass claw and showed him a myriad of possibilities to make their sex life just as immortal before having him fist her with said claw. The beauty of being a Tzimisce/Tremere couple lies in them getting creative and experimental with their Disciplines. I mean come on, the Tzims can also substitute pain from wounds with pleasure AND Andrei could just grow another dick like it's nothing, if his lady is up for it (she is). So, a very large majority of Gretchen and Andrei's nights involve flesh and bone-made bondage as well as heavy usage of bloodied whips and mobile appendages. S&M and blood play are EVERYTHING to them, though they don't mind branching out by trying new kinks.

yeah, this really is a great one *rubs hands gleefully* and i'm going to give you two answers for it: the pre-relationship and post-getting together versions. i feel like before they get their act together and start dating, it would be charles who goes in for it and makes the move. charles would be the one to pull pierre in by the waist, go for the gap and just kiss him if pierre gives him the slightest hint that the feelings are requited. (in my headcanons, it's always charles who makes the move first. pierre, for all that he is a smug and cocky bastard, also has that insecurity and overthinking, and will insist to himself that charles Can't Possibly Feel The Same until very definitively proven otherwise.)

after they're officially dating/a thing, though, the answer changes 100% to pierre, imo. this is not to say that charles doesn't grab pierre by the waist and kiss him when he feels like they've been apart for too long -- it's just that pierre is usually way more shameless and handsy, and gets there first. (come to think about it, they would probably find some way to make it a competition. IDIOTS (affectionate.) but that's a whole other fic, lmao.) in general, i would say that pierre is more likely to grab charles by the waist and lay one on him, because charles really does just walk around looking like That, and makes it very hard to resist. (and also, WE ALL KNOW pierre loves to grab charles' waist at every opportunity. we know, and who can blame him 😌)

Ooh I have several squicky ships that I do get but I just don't feel them at all and have negative connotations associated with them... It's not exactly an answer to the question but it is what I first thought of.

Pre 2020 me didn't like Harm*one as a ship (in H*rry P*tter). Nowadays I don't interact with the fandom so I don't care but I still have negative associations with that ship and its fans.

I don't have any positive associations with Cl*uis (in TW*DG) because of bigotry.

I understand the appeal of E*yam (from C*kur) but it's a toxic, abusive, insulting mess like its fanbase. Man, I'm so glad C*kur ended in 2021 so I could leave that show and its fans behind.

I also used to feel more negative towards R*xi (from E*phoria) as a ship because of shippers' attitudes towards J*les/R*les but since F*xi became really popular I don't see nearly as much of that ship anymore.

I'll explain the reasonings more in the next question because the answers in both questions are pretty similar.

Also, to sprinkle some positivity amongst my mostly critical answers, here are some OTPs that I do like:

Again, this applies to me pre 2020, but I still remember that I used to somewhat like Harm*one as a ship from H*rry P*tter, but yeah... the portion of toxic fans who were super hateful and bitter and straight up mean towards R*n and G*nny.

I used to like L*ouis and sorta like Cl*uis from TW*DG but the homophobic/lesbophobic/biphobic fans have pretty much turned me off from the ship completely. This doesn't really apply to fans on here, moreso YouTube fans who are just The Worst tbh.

Similarly I used to like E*sun from C*kur and back in season 3 but E*yam fans (particularly on Twitter and YouTube) were just horrible. I remember being civil and polite and considerate to every single one I encountered but they were awful and one fan even wished death on my family when I had said nothing to warrant such a bizarre comment lol. They were also The Worst towards D*lan D*niz and their relentless bullying campaign against her from 2019-2021 (but I saw a few months ago that they're still hating on her in 2023 ffs), all because she was a "threat" to their toxic ship. Man, I'm so glad their ship flopped in C*kur's finale, even if it was upsetting to see them being more hateful towards D*lan. They deserved some karma after being some of the worst fans I've ever had the misfortune of seeing.

Again for positivity's sake, here are some characters I do like:

Unlike seemingly most of the fans on here, I like El*ven getting with M*ke in Str*nger Th*ngs. I will never understand why M*leven is so hated. She can be both independent and in a relationship, and I don't see how that's such an unpopular take. Sure, there are issues with codependency, miscommunication and lying but considering what those kids have been through, is it any surprise?! They've both been through so much trauma, both together and separately, so no wonder they don't always go about the things the "best" way. I'd cut them both some slack (especially El*ven considering the hell she's endured all her life that has stunted her growth). Also, I feel like fans are way too harsh of them because aren't they supposed to be around 14 in season 4?!?! I'd say that they're remarkably mature for their age. I will admit that I like them less than I used to after season 4 but tbf there are several characters/relationships that I like less because of season 4. I like other ships like B*ler and E*max but I don't see why liking them should almost become synonymous with hating M*leven.

Is the other aware of the intention behind those gestures? so this is actually like... one of my favorite kinds of intimacy... like the kind that isn't like Grand Flourishes but smaller, more subtle things... i think once they're together they're definitely aware of them, but before they're dating.. no way! SKDFKSDKF... but that doesn't stop them from doing them!

i think sniper shows his love for medic this way by doing things like:

waking up early (he always does) and feeding archimedes/tending to medic's dule. medic makes his own hours and his sleep schedule can be all over the place, so this is one less thing medic has to worry about!

helping medic out by doing some minor stitch work or general aid for the other mercs on the field or post-battle. medic's work is never done, but if sniper can help lighten the load a little bit, well, he's glad to!

defending him on the field... obviously! of course this also just falls within the realm of his Job Description, but if he's feeling flirty he'll wait to get that crispy headshot so that their blood sprays all over medic (it makes him giggle every time)... <3 HEHE

fishing him out of his lab when he knows he's been in there for too long and inevitably fell asleep sitting at his desk... ;-; sniper scoops him up and carries him to his room and tucks him in, lets him sleep... sometimes he'll nap with him but he's always afraid of waking medic up!

and i think medic would do things for sniper like:

Silently identifying "whats wrong" with him and just "fix it" without Drawing Attention to it... for example, massaging sniper's arthritic hands... he's not going to be like "HEY is your arthritis flaring up!!!" because he knows that'll make sniper feel like he's Asking for Help or that he's doing it as a Doctor and not as a Lover. he'll just take sniper's hands in his own Gently and start rubbing them/massaging them... and sniper Instantly Relaxes and just starts purring because it feels so good.....!

making sniper eat breakfast with him in the morning.... i've talked about how i think they both have crappy eating habits and often forget to eat, but medic reminding sniper reminds him to also do it for himself! breakfast is the one meal of the day that medic always remembers to eat because it's the first of the day and it sticks with him the longest. feeding sniper off of his own plate and making sure he has something in his stomach for the long day they have ahead of them!!

making sure sniper knows he can always excuse himself and take time for himself if he needs (and giving him that "Out")... if they're out with the other mercs and medic knows sniper's probably kind of at the end of his Social Wire he'll say things like "sniper, can you go and get me [something from somewhere]"; not because he needs the item Whatsoever but so sniper can have a chance to take a breath of fresh air, have a cigarette if he needs it, take a walk etc... :) sniper realizes what medic's doing after the first couple times and it means so much to him. obviously medic wants sniper on his arm all the time!! but he also knows sniper's nature and knows sometimes he needs a break. nothing wrong with that of course!! ^v^

also, this one is one of my favorites and i could make a whole separate post about this but: they both love making each other comfortable in their own spaces. medic making the infirmary more comfortable for sniper when he knows he’s coming, sniper letting medic have a little drawer in his van for his clothes and a spare pair of his glasses (i wrote a lil oneshot about this here) … i think medic and sniper are both mercenaries that value their personal space and their Spaces Themselves as their sanctuaries, so both of them know how big of a deal it is to the other! they want each other to be comfortable in their Homes (medic’s lab is Just As Important as his room even though it’s not his home)!

all in all i think they both know these things come from a place of love, but they just silently affirm it. neither of them need a lot of Reassurance that the other loves them, but these little things just shows the other that they're here for each other! ^v^ <333

alright so let's talk about "a foul thing" first!

some things i found to be a bit odd:

why did they keep saying how worried they were about being recognized but kept their appearances pretty much the same (besides Juliette's long hair) Benedikt and marshall's hair is the same from what I remember, and their faces still look the same (they're obviously older) and all of this other stuff but I'll get to more of that when we talk about "this foul murder"

also, why tell pretty much everyone EXCEPT rosalind and alisa who are family?? like yes I get that they are trying to protect them but now rosalind is carrying this guilt for a super long time and that made me pretty sad 😭 I can't imagine the betrayal rosalind is gonna feel when she finds out celia didn't tell her. same with alisa, I bet she'll feel pretty bad that she didn't know.

but that's enough about that, for now, let's get on to stuff I liked :)

sorry, i really needed to say that omfg they were so cute in the entire novella. rdbmbbb I just love them they are so precious to me 🙏🏼no ship will ever hit as good as they do (ofc evajacks because come on it's evajacks and they are my otp) I love the way chloe wrote them in this novella as well. they were still the old roma and juliette but you could tell how they'd matured and how everything had affected them in so many ways and just fdfdkvfdk,dvfl, i loved it, man, i live for fluff but MARRIED COUPLE FLUFF??? AFTER BEING ENEMIES??? HELL YEAH it was everything i wanted it to be and more fluff and romance-wise!!!

alright, now we need to talk about roma and juliette's death, and also the connections with foul lady fortune.

so it is said in the first chapter that this takes place in 1931, the same time as the beginning of foul lady fortune, shown here in these two pictures

(top is a foul thing and the bottom is foul lady fortune)

so as you can see they start at the same time. so the start of "a foul thing" takes place while rosalind is on the train in the first chapter after the prologue. i found this to be interesting since i thought "foul lady fortune" was spread out for months but at the end of flf (foul lady fortune) Rosalind receives this letter:

and at the end of afl (a foul thing), we get a page of juliette writing that same letter.

(also side note but i really appreciate this, isn't it so nice how chloe gong managed to tie both books together SO WELL in only 117 pages???)

So because of this, I found the timeline confusing because this takes place in September in afl BUT it seemed like way more than a month in flf?? if anyone has answers on why this is or corrections for the timeline, please comment them cause this confused me quite a bit.

this might've been just me but i also think I missed a lot of important information and how flf connects to the novellas because I am really REALLY bad with names 😥 I am trying my best guys ok 😭

i also liked the introduction of new characters in this and also how much chloe was able to get done within 117 pages like god damn, she got a lot done writing this. new characters and a new plot, answers to roma and juliette's death??? angst??? fluff??? it was all there and did not disappoint.

also, i would like to say that I KNEW it was very likely they couldn't be dead because there was no body, no leftovers, no nothing. like yes i know they were supposed to be exploded or whatever but even in explosions there's gonna be uhh leftover flesh 👁
