dgaf about egg jokes they're harmless and at worst mildly stereotypical do your thing im sure ive made one before. however. i do feel like the whole discourse was kicked off by that "egg behavior to wear women's deodorant as a man" tweet and we all collectively need to agree that that tweet was dumb & stupid and women's deodorant is objectively superior to men's. actually men's hygiene products in general just suck more except razors. apparently its manly to smell like shit and have dry skin. if i had my druthers id force every cis man to use dove deodorant. id mean id still do it if it made them transgender but i see it as more of a public service in terms of smell than in that regard.

i know everyone likes to attack the sad beige moms but i for sure think the sad beige trend is a direct result of overstimulation from work, the internet, TV, relational expectations, just 2020s life in general.

one reason I think churches have been going the sad beige route since the 80s is because they're either trying to 1) remove "distractions" so the preaching or music is the focus, or 2) be everything to everyone.

when I was in my ultra-minimalist phase, it was to remove distractions so that I only had to worry about the clutter in my head and circumstances. what I should've done instead was declutter my head and circumstances, because even in a minimalist bedroom I still burnt out.

Superhero

Part 1 (Hero) / Part 2 (Civillian) / Part 3 (Villain) // Part 5 (Vigilante)

Superhero scowled at the store across the street. Hero had gone in over three hours ago and still had yet to so much as send a status report. They were out of costume, but remained disguised to draw as little attention as possible.

Unlike most, Superhero could actually sense the odd energy that encompassed the building and its surrounding area. They knew something was off - and it wasn't because the place was crawling with criminals. No matter how hard they squinted or how near they went they couldn't see whatever it was that surrounded the otherwise rather inconspicuous shop. Even so, they were certain there was something there. It made their skin itch whenever they tried to go through the door.

Despite their reputation, Superhero thought it best not to take any high risks with a villain hotspot. So they sent Hero in to investigate in their stead.

They were sure the strange aura was what kept the building standing throughout that first week of relentless attacks. Superhero was among the first to view the place with distrust and wasn't proud to admit they were one of the attackers who put that 'invincible' claim to the test. They really had been reckless...but no matter now. Now, they set to figure out why even the most destructive of powers couldn't put so much as a dent in the door.

Superhero was getting anxious. They weren't used to sitting on the sidelines and Hero was taking far too long.

Superhero's eyes narrowed as someone left the shop. The person waved in Superhero's direction but Superhero ignored them, assuming they must have been taken for someone else. They continued watching the door as if staring for long enough would make the barrier finally appear visible before their eyes.

"Glaring from across the street won't get you a free drink, you know."

Superhero would never admit how badly they startled at the sudden voice.

Would love to know if you have any theories about why House didn't talk to Chase about trying again with the patient in The Itch? He says they need him and when Cameron says he won't do it and suggests House talk to him, House doesn't and it's a bit of a mystery to me as to why not?

According to House, it's because he can't understand Chase's accent, lol.

Sadly, I don't think there's a deep answer here. House is entertaining himself with two mysteries this episode: what's going on with Cameron and Chase (which is an interesting side topic in itself, because they were coasting along in complacency until House rolled a bomb in and strengthened their relationship), and why Taub suddenly has so much time to help out. Asking Taub to do the surgery gives House the chance to confirm his theory, as he says later on:

TAUB: And why do you think I’ll be doing [what you ask]? HOUSE: Same reason you did the surgery. TAUB: That was because it was an emergency. HOUSE: No. It was because your marriage is falling apart.

If I were to read more into it, I'd also say that Chase makes it pretty clear that he isn't super into this plan or helping House, and while House does like poking at Chase he… actually seems to respect his space, lol. Chase has boundaries now, and House doesn't push them much! If Taub hadn't been available, House probably would have reached out to Chase, but it isn't necessary.

Later on, Cameron does approach Chase for another surgery, although it isn't clear if House suggested it or not. I think it was probably on her initiative, though, as Chase points out the surgery she's asking for is impossible and she's really just there to pick a fight. House would also know the surgery is pointless, and unlike Cameron, isn't trying to make Chase mad so he can feel good about storming off in a huff, lol.
