I think people need to prepare themselves for MS and DT defending him. Especially MS, who have been friends with him for a long time and is therefore more likely to believe his excuses. It can be incredibly difficult to admit to yourself that someone you consider a friend is capable of committing sexual assault. Men like this often do not act the same way among their peers and can be very good at hiding or downplaying their behaviour.

Also, be prepared for this to be the end of their friendship. since it's a real possibility that one of them will support Gaiman and the other one not.

Expecting either one of them to publicly denounce Gaiman or drop out of Good Omens will only make you disappointed. And I think people should start accepting the idea that neither DT or MS are necessarily as good persons as they seem to be.

personally i never get attached to actors/public figures without being keenly aware of the fact that I don't know them and they might do/say something at any second that will make me drop them like a hot potato. I think stan culture of the type where you're not prepared for that is so unhealthy and i certainly think we should be prepared for two white rich guys to be disappointing in this regard.

At the same time, though, i don't find this type of speculation and "preparing yourself for the worst" to be that helpful. I'll admit I do not have high hopes but i also don't think we should see bad outcomes as inevitable. Do I think it's likely either of them will pleasantly surprise me here? If i'm honest, no, but it would be really fucking helpful to those women if one of them did say something (eventually...i understand neither of them will unless this is reported more widely) and it's ok to hope for it.

My "vision" for their dynamic is pretty close to canon I think? But I have fun<3 Sonic loves annoying Shadow, they're super competitive, have a level of respect for each other, usually play for the same team even if they aren't directly working together(though they can if the situation calls for it), and a "civil" conversation between them rarely ever ends without a race, fight, or at least some bickering- it's nourishment for them<3 They're equals on most fronts, but have contrasting personalities that make for really fun interactions and an amazing dynamic that never fails to be entertaining. I love the contrast with Shadow being created to be the ultimate lifeform, then meeting Sonic, who is just naturally his perfect equal- no experiments, no lab, no alien DNA, he's really just a guy who loves adventure and living fast and free as the wind. Also their shared bond with the chaos emeralds, being two of three people we know of that can use them to go super, chaos control, etc etc. and Shadow using chaos control, unintentionally teaching Sonic about it and inadvertently saving his life, is honestly something we should talk about more. It's cool<3

Idk, they're really interesting to think about. I think Sonic breaks into Team Dark's apartment sometimes and he and Shadow watch pirated movies on Shadow's laptop. And by "breaks in" I mean the window was open. Shadow vehemently denies that it was some sort of invitation, and in his defense, it wasn't at first

I've been thinking and I want to yap about this: The main catalyst for the entire story—Meliodas and Elizabeth's connection and being cursed by their parents—is in the rewrite. But execution wise, it's different. They sort of go from enemies to lovers to friends by the end.

I wholeheartedly feel Elizabeth didn't really have a chance to live her life out and flesh herself out as a character beyond the main character's love interest. I know she's empathetic, kind, very forgiving, but what about her life before Meliodas? I still think about the Bloody Ellie incident and how there's been absolutely no showing of Elizabeth being beyond the 'empathetic healer that used the power of kindness to drive the demons out' (As far as I can remember. I am overdue for a manga reread). The most damage she's done was to Meliodas the one time he was being a dick and forced her to slap the shit out of him with Arc (And one of the DK fights, but since they all fought him THREE TIMES, it's hard to recall if Elizabeth pulled off the gloves or not. The last time I read that ending was in 2020). Hell, the games do her more justice by giving her a staff. Nothing against healers, they sure do a lot as support for the fighters, but if you're going to insinuate that your character is beyond a healer, than at least show it. I just want Elizabeth to be a properly written character that stands strong on her own and have her backstory written, y'know?

And, well, I'm not the biggest fan of Melizabeth. I can respect Meliodas spending 3,000 years fighting for their love, and Elizabeth being his rock, but when you throw in a curse that bounds you for life, being by your reincarnated love's side when she's a baby/kid, knowing she's destined to fall in love with you again, it feels a lot less romantic. Especially when you look at the first episode in isolation without knowing the backstory, like you really didn't think twice on groping that teenager! I think they could've been super cute if, again, execution was better. But alas, it was not and it's left a terrible taste in my mouth.

when i tell you that LITERALLYYYYY i have never been more mentally unwell about anything in my entire life!! the fact that every single person they get to speak is someone with history!! someone that knows him and loves him and can speak to exactly what it is he brings to the team and the sport in general!! simon talking about how he's gotten older but his demeanor and approach to the sport is just the same as it ever was!! the team manager talking about how he gives great feedback and how the sport NEEDS HIM!!! his old trainer talking about how important the 6 months off was for him in setting him up for future success!! christian saying it felt like he never left!!! and all the details too- his name and number on the garage floor, his number and face plastered everywhere, bantering with simon over the radio, the shots of seb in the garage....it felt like a homecoming in so many ways—and even more so than the return to red bull video earlier in the season, which is fucking saying something!!!—and i TRULYYYY don't see how the actual fuck you make this video without knowledge / belief that daniel WILL be back in that seat sooner rather than later
