My Unpopular Riordanverse Opinions

Disclaimer: none of these are fact all are my opinions. I'm happy to hear your disagreements but please do so respectfully because some of my opinions are really unpopular lol, so just be ready. Also spoilers obvs.

Also, as a random fact, I read the Heroes of Olympus about once a year, sometimes more. Lol I love that series actually, its low-key my comfort series.

1. Every time someone suggests Grover should've been on the quest over Coach Hedge, an angel loses their wings lmao. I just love him so much and all of his short tempered anger.

2. I don't like Valgrace. I almost literally got my ass ate off for saying this last time 💀 PLEASEEE leave me alone!! I just don't enjoy this ship, I didn't see the chemistry that other people saw with them. With that being said.

3. I don't like theyna (see above reasons)

4. I do, however, like Valzhang and ValZhangEsque and I think they're horribly underrated ships.

5. But tbh I think there is too much ship content. In the fandom and the books. I wish so much that there was most character centric content than there is. Not just of Jason, of all characters.

6. I love Frank. I love that he doesn't seem as morally bound as the other Roman characters. It interests me. That and I find him funny and endearing low-key.

7. I like Heroes of Olympus better than PJO. Not necessarily because of the writing, but because I liked all the different characters and world building of hoo better.

8. Blood of Olympus was a flop but it had some slay parts, especially on the characterization of Jason and Reyna.

9. Not unpopular, but I never liked Caleo. Specifically because I think solving Leo's arc by giving him a gf is not good writing and low-key disrespects his character.

10. I was not originally a fan of Reyna upon initially reading the books. I found her too authoritarian and someone I would actively fight irl. I would lose, but it would be worth it. I ended up liking her more as I got older especially with BoO, but y'all she is, like, unstandable in Camp Jupiter Classified.

11. I didn't really like Nico either, and I still feel indifferent towards him. Listen, I've had my fair share of trauma, but it is still really difficult for me to connect to cynical/ pessimistic characters. It's just not who I am.

12. Fandom obsession with Percy and Percabeth annoys me. It wouldn't be so bad except for people are hellbent on using comparison to make Percy and percabeth look better than quite literally every other character or ship. It's so irritating to me.

Hob is a reformed criminal, ok; he got out of that life when he met Eleanor and created a new life for himself when they married, identity and all. He didn't want any children they had to have to deal with any of that. He was even going to school to become a teacher.

And then Eleanor died and Robyn was taken and now Hob is being forced back into that life to get him back.

It's a kidnapping job, some rich fuck, with a large payout and Hob doesn't fucking care, he just wants his son back.

When he sees it's a 12 year old boy who's scared out of his mind, though, that's when he snaps.

He can't do anything, not yet, not when they- whoever they are, he still isn't sure- still have Robyn. All he can do right now is wait and protect the boy.

so it eventually gets revealed that the kids name is Orpheus, that his father is Dream (who's known to be incredibly dangerous, there are stories about him, most of which Hob doesn't believe because hello, vampires aren't real!!!)

except Hob gets proven wrong when Orpheus gets scared (and hungry) enough (he's just a baby!!!) and starts killing off his abductors. he only leaves Hob alone because he was nice to him and confided in Orpheus about his son.

Dream finally shows up at the end of the bloodbath (he was out of the country or something, idk lmao) with Robyn, who had been taken by Burgess (he wanted to force Dream into turning him and that's where Dream thought Orpheus was at first) and is all "you protected my son in the end and ur hot, i'm gonna turn you and make you my bride :)"

and Hob is like "!!! I don't want to get murdered if I say no so I guess I don't have a choice!!!"

and so Hob gets turned, he and Dream are now vampire married and fuck often, and Robyn and Orpheus bond over having weird dads (and when he's old enough, Robyn chooses to be turned as well; no way was Hob gonna make him go through puberty AND deal with being a vampire) (really Hob just didn't want to deal with the angst that came from it all, it's like the normal teenage angst bullshit got doubled and he was NOT doing it, thank you very much) (Orpheus was bad enough, and he was a born vampire; he definitely got the dramatics from his father)

Awww so cute! I remember the trailers for Abigail and thinking that the young lil vampire killing people was a cool concept.

I think the vampire family with Dream and Orpheus and Hob and Robyn would be so cute 🥺 like they live in a big spooky chateau with lots of vampire servants (who are also their friends tbh. Cori is their terrible terrible butler and Matthew is meant to be a valet but hes honestly just Dream’s weird friend at this point) and they go on hunts to kill bad people and eat them, and sometimes they go into town and do normal human things (Dream is really not very good at pretending to be human, but it makes Hob and the kids laugh a lot to see him try). Of course Dream hosts fancy vampire balls sometimes, and persuades Hob to get all dressed up in flowing red ballgowns because they're vampire married and Dream wants to show off his bride to everyone!!!

Orpheus and Robyn have to get Matthew to help them in solidly soundproofing their bedrooms because their dads are having NASTY sex every night. Orpheus has it worse because he has super vampire hearing - he did NOT want to know about his dad and step-dad's kinky strapped to an altar drinking each other's blood sex. But he gets his revenge eventually with a fellow vampire called Eurydice when they fuck on Dream’s favourite red velvet couch. DEFINITELY dramatic just like his father, honestly.

But next time someone tries to kidnap literally anyone in the Endless-Gadling family, they're in for a big surprise. Dream and Hob are protective of their baby boys, and Orpheus and Robyn are soon fully grown vampires ready to protect their dads. They really are the cutest family! As long as you're not squeamish!

okay. So I've finished book 1 of keeper of the lost cities for the first time. And I'm loving this keefe dude already?? Like I never thought I'd like a fictional character so quickly. All it took was like one page for me to fall for him, I am aware that keefe is one of the most loved characters in the fandom, and I can see why (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also the book is a solid 9.5/10, the only thing I was frustrated about was probably the slight info dumping about the whole blackswan thing towards the end? because it took me like 3 reads to understand the whole situation, of course, we could just narrow it down to me being slow too, lol. But I'm VERY excited to continue reading the rest. So while we're at it, I'll put in my first impressions of the characters, so I can look back on it after I've read all the books, to see how much my perception has changed of them.

Sophie- i like her, she's really mature for her age, I keep forgetting that she's like 12 lmao. But she's well written, her emotions seem very raw and natural. Of course, she may seem overpowered but, I think that's the whole point of the story, she is supposed to be overpowered, so I don't mind and i wouldn't call her a Mary sue. Overall great protagonist, my girlie deserves a break tho, she got dumped in the hospital atleast 6 times lol.

Fitz- i actually think he's cool. I liked him better in the beginning of the story tho, I feel like afterwards, the dude kinda just disappeared a little? Keefe and Sophie seemed to have more private interaction than those two, and keefe literally only came by in the middle. But yeah, I feel like he had more of a personality in the start. Keefe and Dex, in my opinion had more personality in 5 minutes than fitz did the whole book, but I wouldn't judge so quickly, it's only the first book after all, Hopefully he'd have more page time in the later books. I still like him tho, just not as much as keefe.

Dex- Yeah he is such a typical best friend, I love him. His beef w the vackers is so funny lol I was relieved when Sophie stuck with him even after she became popular tho, also, he seems to have a crush on sophie right? It's kinda obvious, but overall friendship goals 10/10. I vocally "AWW-ed" after he said "are you kidding, i can't wait to tell everyone that you're my first friend" like I need a guy bestie like him :(

Alden- honestly, my heart warmed so much with his father-like dynamic with sophie tbh. He seemed to genuinely care about her well being, but I don't want to get too attached to him tho, just in case becomes a traitor or some shit later on, you can literally never tell with the adults lol. I've read enough books to back that up. But yeah, i really like him and della, the amount of reassuring hugs he gives sophie really heals me :(, They're like sophies 2nd (well, in her case, 3rd) parents. The amount of effort and lengths Alden put to get her out of trouble is actually sweet.

Elwin- This guy is such a W. He is like an adult keefe tbh. He is probably my favorite adult so far lol.

Cassius- I'm sorry, but Mr jerk face over here reminds me SO much of Lucius Malfoy??? Like ?? I feel so bad for Keefe, like poor baby leave him alone smh. I really wanna deck his royal highness in the face tbh.

Biana- absolutely loathed her in the beginning, she gave off such bad snob vibes lol but I love her now. I like the trope of two people forced to be friends w eachother by someone actually end up becoming friends. It's rather uncommon as far as I've read, atleast.

Grady and Edaline- is it bad that i thought they were going to be evil? Yeah I have so much trust issues, it's concerning. But yeah, they're both big W's, their backstory, their temporary contemplation to reject sophies adoption, everything aligned well with their backstory. Greatly written characters.

And last but not least, the king himself, Keefe- okay, he's like added to my list of fictional crushes now lol (along with Percy Jackson, Jason grace, Steve Harrington, chat noir, Eugene fitzherbert, edmund pevensie and Ravi singh ofc). How does sophie not have a fat crush on him, like- ma'am if you don't want him, I'll take him. But jokes aside, he feels like the most authentic character out of them all, tbh. Epitome of great writing. He was inserted to the story as this random dude that sophie runs into, and becomes an og in like 5 minutes. He is like a mix of Eugene from tangled, Kristoff from Frozen and chat noir from mlb all at the same time?? I cannot wait to see more of him and his backstory, especially with his parents. I know alot of people dislike the humorous guy with depression trope since it's overused, but I like how it played out on keefe, he uses school as an escape, which is very relatable.

Also, bonus, i LOVE the world building, the light leaping and all, very creative. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2

It's longpost anon, here to drop another novel in your asks! (If this isn't welcome, just say so and I'll stop, no hard feelings!!)

All the Sanguinius content lately had me thinking about him having a daughter.

What spurred this on: I was grocery shopping this morning and there was a mom with her young daughter in front of me checking out. The kid would excitedly tell everyone "Nice to meet you!" when they walked past, and it was the most adorable thing ever. She was just so happy to see people and be out and about.

TMI but I'm at that point in my cycle where I was trying not to cry in public from the cuteness lol. (I've got baby fever, send help 😭) On the drive home, I started thinking about Sangy's daughter meeting all her uncles for the first time, and her trying to shake their giant hands with her tiny little ones and saying "Nice to meet you!" It would be so precious.

Then I started thinking about the mom being too kind for her own good, seeing Konrad lurking at the edge of the room alone and quietly asking him, "Do you want to meet your niece?"

It'd be like all the air got sucked out of the room. Sanguinius would just be tense as a board. Everyone is mentally screaming "Are you crazy?!" at her in their heads.

An aside: I've just read Konrad's primarch book, and while it shows why he is genuinely truly terrifying, there is also so many sad things.. Like how he doesn't hate any of his brothers (except Corax) despite them absolutely loathing him. Despite Fulgrim shattering his trust. Despite Sanguinius basically being the better alternate version of himself. I don't think the average person could be treated the way he was and not hate their family at least a little bit. I feel so badly for him.. I don't think he would hurt one of his brother's offspring pre-heresy. Maybe I'm just deluded though lol.

Anywho-

Everyone is just on edge, ready for Konrad to show even the most microscopic indication of aggression.. But he just kneels down, silently holds his hand out to the girl and she shakes his hand as best she can, giving him a cheery "Nice to meet you!" the same as she did for her other uncles. He just stands up, stares for a moment, and then silently leaves.. (He spends the next 72 hours trying to process the 12 different emotions he got blasted with in that moment.)

Also! Sangy's daughter being weirdly attached to one of the primarchs who is not particularly good at socializing with normies is really funny to picture. Like she gets SUPER hyped anytime she gets to see uncle Guilliman, and nobody knows why because he is honestly kinda boring to talk to. (It's because when she asks him a million questions about mundane things, he genuinely tries to answer every. single. one.)

Fulgrim trying to be the cool fun wine uncle but never being able to truly capture the kid's interest lmao. He's quietly seething like, why does she like paper-pushing Roboute?! (Fulgrim gets his time in the spotlight when she's a little older and gets super interested in art)

And the Blood Angels interacting with her would be so heartmeltingly sweet. Little mini Sanguinius asking for uppies from a captain because she wants to be Really Tall. He's just like, "It would be my honor." and hoists her onto his shoulder.

When the kid is still a toddler, the mom offhandedly asks her guard to hold her daughter for a second while she does something and just kinda shoves the squirmy toddler into his arms despite his protests. He's internally having a meltdown because he is so scared of hurting her accidentally and is still as a statue the entire time. The first time the mom refers to them as the girl's brothers, there would be no going back. Like, "Wave to your brothers!" as they're both watching the Blood Angels train. If it was even possible for them to adore their 'sister' any more, it would happen in that moment.

This is all super fucking cute. Especially the stuff with Konrad. And you are somewhat right; we have to remember that as fucked as Konrad is, he was largely under the impression that he was doing justice and only killing those deserving of it. I doubt he would think Sanguinius’ child was evil, at least at first. He has no reason to hate his child afterall, he never hated any of the Primarchs ‘cept Corvus.

Funny note I first read this while really tired and my brain skipped lines, and at first I thought it was Konrad asking people if they wanted to see their niece XD like he had a secret child. 💀 I’m dumb

yea sure!!!

the gist of it is that it's a floyd doesn't leave au to start. when the bros break apart and stuff he can't bring himself to set out right away, and then he just sorta never gets to leaving until rosiepuff gets taken by bergens. when she does, he gets a little freaked out about his ability to protect branch on his own, and decides the two of them should leave the tree. he's been saving up to take on a solo career, and doesn't make the choice lightly; he doesn't know if and when the escape tunnels will be finished and he doesn't feel like they can stick around anymore.

floyd and branch spend a while traveling around the troll territories, meeting the different trolls around as floyd figures out his solo career's details. most of the other trolls are a little skeptical of them, since they're pop trolls, but they either leave them alone or warm up to them since they're just kids. they end up settling in the rock kingdom for a little while, where floyd makes his start, to give branch some stability.

it's very much a shitty position, though; floyd is 14 when they set out on their own, forced into a single guardian position and essentially losing his teen years. it doesn't help that branch is struggling to understand why their brothers left, often asking floyd where they went and if they really loved them and stuff like that. the first time he asks one of those, floyd decides he isn't forgiving his brothers, at least not easily. this attitude rubs off on branch very quickly, alongside the growing guilt as he comes to realize how fucked up it is that they're living that way so young.

meanwhile, clay returns to the tree just in time for the escape. he quickly finds viva, who doesn't know about floyd or branch's whereabouts, but she does know about rosiepuff being taken which she relays. they stick with everyone and get out the other side, helping trolls as best as they can. when peppy comes out, viva asks immediately about poppy.

peppy reaches into his hair, and finds that poppy is missing. viva immediately bolts back into the tunnels with clay right behind her.

she calls for her sister to no avail for a while, and clay starts trying to urge her back out because he knows they won't find her, but viva refuses. until the ceiling begins to crumble, and clay has to shove her out of the way, getting hit on the head in the process. with no way forward and a definitely concussed friend, viva turns back.

poppy's okay though!!! she gets found by a troll and ends up as a putt putt troll :)

clay and viva help start building the new pop village, leaning on each other since they both "lost" their siblings. viva becomes queen sooner than poppy, since she's 12-13 years older, so she's already queen by movie 1 timeframe. this is sorta where i haven't figured everything out yet; ik the movies happen but i dont have details ;v;

viva is definitely a lot like poppy; she's excitable and loves to throw parties and scrapbook, and braiding hair is still her way of telling others she likes them. since she has more time to be queen by the time the movies hit, she's a little more settled into her role and a little less sensitive to criticism.

clay steps up as her right hand man, helping her organize plans and keeping track of literally anything involving numbers and safety. he's still very set on being the serious one, but he can't help but be a little silly here and there. in his free time, i think he'd like to write books!

at sooome point floyd and branch end up moving to mt. rageous for both floyd's solo career and branch's restarting music career. they end up rooming with my oc rosewood! she's chill she's also a solo artist lmao

at another point floyd and branch end up going to a gig at vaycay island, only to discover bruce runs the biggest restaurant there with his wife. bruce is excited to see them, but they aren't that happy to see him considering he'd left them. their interactions are short and cold at best. still deciding on if floyd gets to rip into him about leaving bc he definitely deserves to

floyd does still get caught by velvet and veneer; branch is also almost caught, barely getting away in time. he enlists rosewood's help in finding a way to get to him, which he does, but he figures out he can't get floyd out of there without help. after spending an agonizing month or so trying to come up with literally any other plan, branch gives in and goes looking for his brothers for the perfect family harmony. he gets clay first, then john dory while on the way to bruce's. they get lost on the way back to mt rageous and end up by the golf course, where viva finds poppy is alive!

eeexcept she doesn't remember viva at all. and when viva starts to explain what happened, the memories flood back and overwhelm her, causing her to flee.

but poppy isn't in charge of the putt putts, it turns out. it's actually a much older grandma rosiepuff, who managed to escape the bergens and wound up with the separated trolls. of course, clay and bros are ecstatic to see her, clay and branch especially, and she asks about floyd which they fill her in on. rosie's in no shape to help save him, so she makes them promise to come back once they get him out of there.

on their way out, poppy comes back and decides she's going with them. she's apprehensive, and insists to viva she wants to figure everything out at her own pace, which viva is all for.

when the brothers start fighting on the road, branch is quick to get angry, saying he thought they'd have better priorities after 20 years. viva sides with him quickly, especially getting at clay for wanting his brothers back for 2 decades only to start fighting again almost immediately.

and againnnn i don't have anything else figured out but its kinda this a/b/c plot with viva and clay to branch and floyd to poppy over the course of like. 20+ years!

Their voice, he's usually too nervous to look at people straight in the eyes.

Maybe a 5. He's no stranger to gym soreness, so he's used to pain here and there.

6. Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure?

Flight! In fact, he'll make a run for it even before pressure starts. Can't be stressed about a situation if you leave it before it gets stressful!

7. Do they come from a big family/are they a family person?

He has a mid-size family; two siblings, some aunts and uncles here and there. He loves his family and considers them his only friends. He's happy with that fact! They're the coolest people he knows--Mom is a lawyer, Dad builds furniture from scratch, sisters are artistic, his aunt is a musician/artist, and his uncles..uh they're kinda freeloaders in the city. Every kid's dream future 😎

8. What animal represents them best?

Hmmm that's a tough one. I'd love to say a grasshopper (haha) but let's go with a cheetah. Yeah I know you're thinking cool and collected, but cheetahs are actually SUPER anxious, expend a lot of energy with a task, and prefer to be alone. Also, he can run hella fast.

9. What is a smell that they dislike?

Burnt pancakes. Yuck.

10. Have they broken any bones?

No, he's pretty cautious. He's definitely gotten cuts and bruises galore though.

11. How would a stranger likely describe them?

Quiet (almost invisible) and soft-spoken. Just a kid that sits in the back of the class. He comes to school, then leaves. People would likely forget he was there.

12. Are they a night owl or a morning bird?

100% a morning bird. His parents are up at the crack of dawn and he's made it habit to get up early.

13. What is a flavor they hate and a flavor they love?

He's been told to write things down in notebooks (therapy) but he doesn't necessarily enjoy it--it's just something he does to regulate his emotions. He likes to watch bad movies, read old poetry, and hit the gym.

He hates surprises. If it's just his family, he won't be too upset. He'll put on a happy face and participate in any party things. If there's randos invited, he'll force himself to stay but he'll eventually wander back to his room. His parents have learned to not throw him parties.

Somewhat. His sister is always trying to get him to pierce his face, but he sticks to his grandmother's necklace. He's thought about wearing rings, but he doesn't feel like he fits that vibe.

Pretty neat for a teenage boy. Not the best but you could make it out. He tried to learn cursive to copy the script he sees in old poetry books, but got frustrated.

Flannel. It's comfortable.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

Technically, I only have 32. I would personally count all of my collections and challenges as separate fics, but I'm honestly too lazy to format them that way. (mostly thinking ab wcc here)

2. What is your total AO3 word count?

I have a total of 200,985 words right now. Didn't realize I'd hit the 200,00 mark yet!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

I think it's safe to say Pedro Pascal is my fandom. I have no objections to writing for any other characters though---in fact, I've actually featured some Oscar Isaac characters in my fics before. I also have an unpublished Marc Spector fic that's been sitting in my docs for a while 🤭

4. Top Five fics by kudos:

Joel Fucking Miller (ao3 link) has 377 kudos. Dom Joel Miller fucks you over a table in this age gap enemies to....lovers(?) one shot.

I honestly have a habit of making most endings happy 😂 I don't feel like digging right now so I'm just gonna say What Matters. (Age gap Joel Miller x f!reader) This is also my most popular one shot on Tumblr with over 1,000 notes.

Not too much, but I have gotten some shit for little things on TTF. This rly sucks because I let it get to me too much and I end up getting into a slump.

Fantastic if used right! I love little terms here and there depending on the ethnicity of the character and their first language since it definitely adds to the authenticity. I do like for the translation to be at the end of the phrase/excerpt though instead of at the end of the fic.

time to post about some of my fankids for the first time since 2019 <3

I haven't drawn them since my deviantart days, but the recent fankid uprising inspired me (ty fankid creators for giving me confidence!!). I have a few more, but thought I'd start with these four! Too bad this is old ass art and some of their designs have already changed a bit lmao

Saturn the Hedgehog - she/her, 15

-speed and strength type (strength is secondary). Slightly slower than Sonic, but has more endurance.

-Shadow x Sonic kid

-abilities include weapon summoning (bow and arrow), time manipulation (chaos control), and teleportation (also chaos control)

Saturn was created using Sonic and Shadow's DNA- they don't know who made her (yet), but they were able to rule out G.U.N. and Eggman. She was found by Tails, Cream, and Charmy. She was grown in a tube, and they safely removed her from said tube. In the lab they found her in, they discovered copies of Gerald Robotnik's research papers. She was made to be a weapon, but they don't know what exactly her creator wanted her for.

Sonic and Shadow had already been planning on adopting a kid, so they quickly took her in. They knew she would likely inherit powers that most parents wouldn't be able to help her control, and they couldn't stand the thought of anyone else raising her- even their friends. They were pretty upset that someone would experiment with life like that (and use their DNA to do it), so they have been trying to find Saturn's creator to hold them accountable.

They told Saturn that she was adopted when she was 12, but they waited to explain some details until she was 15 (like how and why she was created, and how her and Shadow were both experiments.)

With that out of the way, info about Saturn herself (finally lol)~

Saturn takes after Sonic personality-wise. She's free spirited and pretty silly, but she's serious where it counts! However, Saturn wants to be surrounded by her friends almost 24/7, while Sonic sometimes wanted to run off and explore alone when he was younger.

Saturn often (usually unintentionally) gets the group into trouble- messing around in the wrong place, pulling a small prank against the wrong person, etc.

Saturn's hobbies include skateboarding, archery, cooking, pottery, and surfing. She's been skateboarding since she was 9- she goes to a skatepark with Umiko, Malachite, Topaz (Malachite's sister), and Gloom (Umiko's sister.) Shadow is teaching her how to cook. She goes surfing with Umiko and May (Blaze and Amy kid, I'll post about her soon <3)

Jupiter (Jay) the Fox - she/they/he, ~15

-speed type. Speed and endurance are similar to Sonic.

-Shadow x Sonic kid

-has electrokinesis (electricity manipulation and creation)

If Sonic had a nickel for every time he adopted a baby fox he found in the woods...

Sonic found Jay in the woods when they were a toddler (they're guessing they were about 3 at the time.) Jay's bio family abandoned them, leaving them with a note asking whoever found them to take care of them. Luckily, it doesn't seem like they were left alone for too long. Sonic immediately became attached and brought them home (this guy and baby foxes..)

Sonic and Shadow hadn't discussed having another kid, but Shadow reluctantly agreed to look after the kid until they found someone to care for them or found a trustworthy orphanage (Sonic doesn't trust the adoption/foster care system). So they had Jay officially put in their care, and they then proceeded to never even try to find someone else to adopt the kid.

Yes, I did need to have Sonic and Shadow acquire both kids in very abnormal ways.

Jupiter is pretty introverted. They will avoid speaking to strangers at all costs, but they pretty much won't shut up around their friends (their friends certainly don't mind~)

They're in their school's orchestra (they play the cello), they love bugs (the atlas beetle is their favorite), they read, and they're a photographer.

Malachite the Bat - he/him, 16

-flight and speed type (speed is secondary- he is faster than most people, but not nearly as fast as Sonic)

-Knuckles x Rouge kid

-he can heal people using the master emerald or the chaos emeralds

Saturn and Jupiter are the only kids who were adopted- the rest of the kids were grown in tubes in Tail's lab.

Malachite has two siblings- a twin sister named Topaz and a younger sister named Spinel (8).

He's a bit of a mama's boy- not in a bad way! He's just closer to Rouge.

Malachite is pretty outgoing, but he prefers to stick with his friends. He's very kind and pretty silly. He tries to set a good example for the younger members of the group, but he's also one of the first to go along with Saturn's shenanigans.

He's a bit of a mom friend, and he's one of the younger kid's favorite big siblings.

Malachite is into acting- he's in his school's improv class, and he's a stage actor (he does after-school plays and community productions.) He usually ends up with leading roles.

He rollerblades, he's into mountain biking, he plays the ukulele, he's a great singer, and he likes hosting picnics for his friends and family!

Umiko the Chameleon - she/her, 16

-speed type. A little bit faster than Sonic, but she has significantly less endurance.

-Espio x Silver kid

-she has hydrokinesis (water manipulation.) She can carry herself/hold herself up using water, so I'd almost count her as a flight type character. She's one of the few kids who uses a weapon- she has a scythe.

Umiko is a triplet! She has a Sister named Gloom and a sibling named Rowan. While Knuckles and Rouge had twins on purpose, Espio and Silver did *not* mean to have triplets lol. Tails just went into their lab one morning and there were three kids in the tube instead of one. On the bright side, it warned the others that if they wanted lab-grown kids, they couldn't *completely* control how it went. (Yes, this is the excuse I chose for the fact that I designed more kids than the characters would realistically have <3). Their friends wound up babysitting a lot in the beginning- especially Blaze, Amy, Vector, and Vanilla.

She slowly became a bit more social as she grew up, but she was very quiet and stoic as a kid. She still avoids talking to people unless she has to or she knows them. She is way different around her friends, though! She's still pretty quiet, but she's a lot more comfortable and expressive!

She's a very good listener. Her friends typically go to her if they need to vent or need a shoulder to cry on, and they're always there to return the favor! She usually goes to Saturn and Malachite :)

The younger kids in the group also really look up to Umiko! She's their favorite big sister, and she always makes time for them.

Umiko lost her arm, leg, and tail after being attacked by a rogue badnik when she was 11. Her tail grew back eventually, and she uses prosthetics for her arm and leg (made by Tails.) She has chronic pain and problems with balancing, so some days she needs a cane or a wheelchair to get around (Tails also made her wheelchair.)

She skateboards and surfs! She's a part of her highschool theater's stage crew- she mostly does set design and lighting, but she's done a bit of everything! She is one of the only crew members who actually memorizes show scripts, so she got dragged into being a sort of honorary understudy lol. She's had to go on stage twice because no real understudies were available.

She's an artist, a singer, and she plays guitar. She also loves baking.

Date literally takes in a whole child when he can barely remember how to take care of himself all because she needs him!! Because he’s the only adult who can and is willing to take care of Mizuki even if she’s his friend’s kid, he gives her a comfortable and stable home where she can be the bratty kid she really is instead of trying to be quiet and out of the way! Then there’s Date’s sentient AI eyeball prosthetic Aiba, they bicker but deeply care about each other and he doesn’t know how to function without her and by the end of Mizuki’s route in the game they canonically ARE all a found family together and I love them lmao.

They have the best father-daughter/older brother-younger sister/two random assholes stuck together dynamic you could possibly ask for. Mizuki's bio parents sucked so when she was 8 Date was like hey, come live with me, we'll be roommates for like a month while your parents get their shit together. And then they were roommates for FOUR YEARS. Mizuki bullies Date constantly and Date makes dumb jokes that she hates and they're both stupid tsunderes that can't admit they really care for each other until it's the end of the line and a bunch of people are dead (it's a murder mystery game and a LONG story). At the beginning of the game Date uses his expensive secret agent machine to go inside Mizuki's brain and solve puzzles in her dreams to help her recover from trauma, and then at the END of the yellow route (the best ending IMO) Mizuki does the same thing for Date and there's a moment where she can run to her parents and leave Date alone..... but she runs to Date instead... and it makes me fucking WEEP!!! they care so so much about each other and it makes me fuckign feral I want to eat my computer they are so goddamn family

lmao uh. known angst goblin meg redbelles here, but i honestly didn't have to do much work to the canon endings of robert baratheon (the clouds will form a crown) or judas iscariot (in the violence of our dreams) to make them even more horrifically angsty, so. one of those, probably!

i don't tend to go for out and out happy endings—i prefer bittersweet—but i feel like the answer is either the mercy wheel, which fixes dany’s gabarge season eight character arc, or tongue’s talkin’ riddles (sticky sweet), which gives chrissy and eddie a mostly happy future together instead of horrible deaths in deeply cursed hawkins

and! for what it's worth! the chimneys hardly ever fall down is going to end on a happy note! they're just going to have to Suffer a lot to get there! it's fine!

Back in the cold blue, Fort shot to shit and tumbling from the sky like a wounded bird, trailing fire and screaming as she falls. Maybe he won’t wake up at all— maybe he’s dead in a potato field, a ghost who never made it back in the first place. His heart can’t fucking take it.

LBH probably follows SQQ around whenever he goes crime-fighting. Even if SQQ told him to stay home, he’s still going to do it. So, imagine Batman running into Catwoman and stopping her from doing some crime. And she flirts with him as per her habit. There's the normal chase scene across rooftops, ignoring taunts and teases, and then Spoiler cuts her off and there's a brief tussle. She starts her routine (my, you're looking awfully tense today. Cat got your tounge?) and generally making everyone on comms roll their eyes until there's a dark growl echoing from the overhang. Batman freezes and closes his eyes in resignation as a shadow drops down. Catwoman, as all women who don't know his reputation, immediately goes 'wow, that is a Very Hot Dude' and yes he's emanating aggression but unexpected flirting catches pretty much everyone off guard or at least softens the blows - and Batman isn't doing anything about him so he should be fine.
