I believe everybody agrees at this point that this is 100% canon confirmation that Harumi was the one who crossed Realms and went to Outworld and that's where she and Tanya met!

Maybe Tanya went to Earthrealm to help Johnny with his movies, but it's much more likely that he kept going to Outworld instead.

Plus, she clearly has known Harumi for a while, even longer than she knows Kuai! (Which is precisely what she's teasing him about, that they have a common friend)

As to, is Tanya the only Outworlder who knows Harumi? I think she's the only Outworlder *from the roster* who knows her, Kitana mentions her in a intro but I don't think she knows her personally, cause there's another intro that someone (I think Smoke?) Compares her to Harumi and she's curious to what he means, if they knew each other Kitana would probably get the comparison!

I strongly believe Harumi went to Outworld on a mission (why else would she be there?) And worked with Tanya. The Umgadi are a Sisterhood, a group, they fight together and go on missions together, so there's a big chance Harumi tagged along an Umgadi group and therefore all of them know her! (I so hope Khameleon was in this group too👀)

Kuai: You still haven't told me how you know Harumi.

Tanya: Only she can tell you.

This dialogue is interesting! I mean, why the secrecy here, Tanya?👀

I saw some folks theorise Tanya is implying she and Harumi were a thing, but as much as I am a big supporter of Harumi being into girls (lol, not only a supporter, FrozenBlossom is one of my greatest feats and I pride myself of it! 🌺❄️) I don't think that's the nature of their relationship!

As we all know, Tanya can't date because of her vows as Umgadi, and her biggest struggle is that she wants to remain faithful to her Goddess and her sisterhood but also wants follow the wishes of her heart (aka, Mileena)!

That's such a HUGE part of her character, and I think it would take much of its impact if she had already broken her vow with Harumi, you know?

To all Taleena shippers reading this, I need to know if there's already a Modern AU where Tanya is a religious queer kid struggling with staying faithful to her beliefs and true to herself!

And if there's someone out there who ships Harumi x Tanya, know that I would feast on your content, I'd very much ship them in fanon!

Now, as to what I actually think she means: She's teasing Kuai (and lightly scolding him too)!

I think she meant that as in "you've been distant for a while, how about you take some time to learn what you have missed out from your bride’s (my bestie's) life, huh?"

And yeah, I think it's a valid thing to say! Kuai inserted himself back into Harumi's life in the most abrupt way possible! And there's no doubt helping him brought a big change to her life.

She's done so much for him. It's only fair that he dedicates some time to keep up and get to know her better!

Well, I finally drew my BBC Ghosts oc. (I have not drawn a person in forever and was experimenting a bit with style, and also I can never draw fabric, so don't judge too harshly lmao)

His name is Jonathan and he died falling out of a tree on the property in 2017 at the age of 24.

He is American, much to Lady Button's dismay, and had been visiting family in England when he met his demise. It was in fact his younger cousin who dared him to climb the tree he fell out of. (Thomas 100% tries to bond over the "cousin betrayal" commonality. It does not work.)

He loves Fall Out Boy... and fully recognizes the irony of that, being a Boy that Fell Out of a tree. (Also, the poor thing died mere months before the release of Mania, Fall Out Boy's seventh studio album, and didn't get to listen to it until Alison and Mike moved in and he could pester Alison into downloading it for him.)

He died with an iPhone 6 in his pocket. It is forever at 13% battery and all he can do with it is write notes in the notes app (Thomas is SO JEALOUS that he has a way of writing things down).

He is besties with Kitty and HATES Julian. He's varying degrees of chill with everyone else.

Since he was a musician in life, his ghost power is that if he does air guitar, it will play like a real guitar and is audible to both ghosts and the living. (I recognize that probably seems overpowered but considering Alberta's power in US Ghosts, I figured I could give him a little far-fetched haunting ability, as a treat.)

Loser bisexual with ADHD (because I have to project somehow!).

He convinced Alison to reach out to his (alive) best friend via social media, so while the Coopers were living in Button House, he got to message her on a regular basis. I'm thinking that wouldn't completely end once they'd moved out and the house was converted to a hotel, but it'd be much less frequent.

I'm gonna be so honest I got DEEP in the paint here and I'm writing this after having finished answering everything - and. Yuh this need a cut LMFAO so the answers are under the read more! Ain't wanna clog your page without warning - and my most sincere of apologies in advance for yappin as much as I did but. What can I say. Special interest fun.

How I feel about this character

LOVE im. Love im to bits it's quite incredible actually LMAO. As with both parts of that pair they're stronger characters put together, but I think Max has way more nuanced personality as an individual than people tend to think about him!! In Sam's bio in the original Save the World, it states they've known each other all their lives and "speak a common language" - and I think that fact, about specifically Max, goes to show he's more detailed than it appears :] More than their hijinks and playful taunting, they do speak a common language: and it's supporting the other how they need case-by-case 🥺

I don't know, I always appreciated how Max was a deeper character than was outwardly demonstrated most of the time. At the end of TDPH, the moment where Max is recalling what happened in his timeline with nonchalant humor in the face of pretty horrific circumstances (whether used to cope or not), but then sees Sam visibly disconcerted, and Max immediately changes how he approaches the conversation with more tact, is beautifully subtle in showing Max is capable and willing to be gentler with Sam when their usual joking doesn't work.

Maybe it was or was not intentional, and I'm reading way too much into it, but long story short Max is a wonderfully comedic, yet nuanced character, and even as more of a Sam fan (by a mere margin, mind you), I would be remiss to deny that the pair are interwoven pretty inseparably - and Max being any other way wouldn't make their dynamic work nearly as perfectly. Good rabbity thing character 10/10

Sammy Hound Dog is my only ship for him 🐶🐰I couldn't imagine those two being with anybody else. "In every life, I will find you," type beat y'know?

Maybe a cheating answer but truthfully my gut answer was Sybil!! She's the pair's bestie imo so sure maybe obvious person to say but all the same I think she and Max could be a hell of a lot closer than it appears (⁠´⁠∩⁠｡⁠•⁠ ⁠ᵕ⁠ ⁠•⁠｡⁠∩⁠`⁠) I think she'd be a deeply trusted confidant, and he thinks to go to her first concerning things he couldn't ask Sam about/for - not that that'd be. Very much. Considering the little to no filter he's got But for dates or to surprise Sam with something and he knows he's gonna need help with it she's his first thought. Though I'm sure the end of TDPH probably went to show how much deeper Max cared for Sybil than what showed on the surface 🥹🩷

My unpopular opinion about this character

PG opinion? Now I am The Number One, Uno, Un, Ein, Énas, Yek crossdressing fan wholly and truly I've never known myself without that passion But I would probably say as far as the content I see, I'm way surprised that Max is the most chosen of the two to do so!! Immediate disclaimer bc one will always be Grateful to be fed and the work is always SUPER delightful regardless but just from what I hear in dialogue and have seen in the cartoon I was always under the impression Sam was more willing and even eager to crossdress, while Max was pretty hesitant and/or did not do so very often :0 At the end of the day this is a huge nothing-offense but it's more something I found interesting in the fandom! Clothes aren't gendered just in case I have to say that but I'm quite fond of the term and the history so it's just how I call it :]

Adult opinion? Max prefers to top and Sam prefers Max tops too. Sure they'll switch off on occasion but I think after that dog does all the work and talkin all day there's a dynamic shift (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)👍🏼 That's all I've got for now I would further elaborate with great love but being that I'm not sure how you feel about this sort of thing I'll leave it out of courtesy!! One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

That he gives Sam a big ol kiss right on that snout of his and then rehashes that line about his warmth being alarming

If I can't answer that then I'm also cool with a peek into their actual bedroom!! I was always under the impression they lived right in the office, but I've also seen iterations from other fans of them having a house or an apartment!! Regardless of depiction, I think having a concrete bedroom visual for them would be super interesting (⁠☆⁠▽⁠☆⁠) Though it is fun as fans to be able to speculate and show off our own ideas, so it isn't upsetting or anything of that sort - just something I think could realistically be done!

Sincerely I don't have any specific wishes for Max specifically - I think he was handled very well in all the media he's in, and anything that wasn't directly shown or written is very easily remediable with fanon and community ideas!! I don't find anything wrong with the stories serving their purpose as is, and the people being left to interpret and add onto what exists 🩷

Though, if I can give a more dramatic answer to this, however unrealistic, then I'd say I wouldn't at all hate a musical motif for him (or all the main characters really!!) I understand that hardcore story-telling is not really a Sam and Max special, but if I can be self-indulgent and shamelessly passionate about music, then I'll say especially for a game like TDPH something during more emotional or intense moments including character musical motifs in the background a la God of War reboot style would make things a hell of a lot more impactful.

Like Max's motif could be something lively, something typically with drums and violin or harp, or even flute, and changes depending on the progression of the story - during his initial power sequence, it's powerful and upbeat and smooth; during his beast transformation, it's chaotic and defeaning and gritty; during Sam's departure from the lab after finding out they couldn't bring Max back, it's quiet and drawn out and almost sounds like a lullaby before Sam takes to the streets and the motif stops playing to transition into Sam's sole motif, which would be equally quiet and solemn, to imply Max being left behind and Sam left alone. Maybe Sam and Max while they're together also have a motif that's both of their individual ones combined - and when it matters most, their motifs can be separate like when Noir Sam happens or when Max is trapped in the ship.

There's a lot of potential in music being powerful for this series, and while I think the sound direction is good as is (I mean, "That Rainy Neon Glow" is a pretty damn good Noir Sam track), I think a little extra care to make motifs to consciously and subconsciously recognize themes would be tremendous. I mean shit maybe they're gonna do that for the upcoming remaster and I'll be taken aback but I'm more of the belief that this is something only in a wistful dream ☁️🩷

And what stuck out to me was just how excited Céline was to learn about Lapis and her resourcefulness -- both as a way to learn more about Lapis as a person, and a genuine curiosity and interest in what Lapis was teaching her!)

ALSO. BEYOND JUST THE FUN OF IT. I think Céline would really appreciate Sharena for who she is. Maybe there would be some bumps here and there, as Céline is assessing her -- I think, either Céline is the perceptive type (can tell if Something is off, if someone's words don't seem to match their emotions), or, that's actually a weak area for her. I know. Two complete opposite reads LMFAOOO BUT. I just don't know yet? But I am thinking about, how she is very emotionally intelligent. And I'm also thinking about, esp if it's someone she's just starting to get to know, she needs to study them. She needs information. Especially to determine how she feels about that person, measuring them up, seeing if they're someone she can be comfortable with. Sometimes, she's able to determine this quickly -- pretty much all the girls, she's quick to trust, and Alcryst, she's quick to trust as well -- I think, because she understands him almost immediately. Like, his M/O. His whole deal. He's fine, he's just haunted by endless horrors and ailments 👍 Passed the vibe check 👍 Also Jean passes the vibe check on account of being just a baby boy LMFAOO

But I think, how this relates back, is that. Maybe Céline would notice some Off things about Sharena, but not in a way that makes her seem untrustworthy or even insincere. It's a bit of a conundrum for Céline, actually. Trying to pinpoint it. But she likes Sharena, so she keeps talking to her, and makes it a goal to figure out what's going on. Eventually she does, realizing Sharena just has a rough mirroring, people pleasing and Getting a Good Grade In (insert any interpersonal interaction here) streak LMFAOOO

ALSO..... THINKING...... funny interactions between Alfonse and Alfred. Literally lowkey what happens in a few of Alfred's supports (I think it's a reoccurring thing?) where someone is up Way Too Late and Alfred. Is starting his day.

I think, on a more serious note, it would take some time for them to actually connect. Esppp bc of the opposite personalities. But Alfred is absolutely the perceptive type. He knows a lot more than he tends to let on. In a way, he has his own walls up, too. I think he'd be able to see through Alfonse very quickly, and given how Alfonse Is, just give him a little time to share way too much, be nice to him, and bam. Unintentional besties now. ALSO. I SWEAR TO GOD I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP??? BUT. I THINK. IT IS CANON that Alfonse has some body image issues as well??? It's EXTREMELY obscure, I feel like it's only referenced in Kozaki's Bruno comics where it's shown that Alfonse is envious of Bruno's body type? Like. I swear to god I feel it SO strongly I'm not making this up but also I. Don't have any evidence to back this up. And also maybe I did make this up. I could be completely wrong. I could have just invented this as a core memory.

BUT. As obscure as it is, that could be an interesting thing to explore. ESPPP given. How. Alfred's whole deal is, a desire for strength and to have that strength SHOW, on a physical level, to prove he's all better now and that he can live a long life. And, how. Alfonse himself doesn't seem to be able to put on muscle beyond like, being nicely toned, but Lif. Is fairly muscular. And that. Presents an interesting... scenario.

Espppp thinking about like. When Sharena was telling him about the endless possibilities for all kinds of different Alfreds in all kinds of different worlds, maybe there IS one who's buff as hell. Have you considered selling your soul to The Devil from The Bible and getting yassified in the process? It would solve! At least two problems!! 😬👍

cassidy and nicole's relationship makes a fun parallel to grooves and conductor in that the two of them are actually besties and will defend one another tooth and nail and they also they care about one another so much and they will work together often and star parts in one another's movies. but also they will insult or roast one another all the time too, as friends do. but also might betray one another for their own gain if the opportunity arises. also they don't mind sharing a residence or work place, unlike grooves and conductor who immediately disliked each other the moment they found out they'd be sharing their studio.

while we all know grooves and conductor have their seething rivalry with each other and will do anything they can to make sure their rival faces the brunt of their failure. and constantly mock or make fun of one another and their work or do petty things to sabotage one another. but also i think they understand each other more than anyone else at the same time do not have even the slightest understanding of one another or their intentions.

as far as cassidy and nicole's relationships with the elder directors, i know that it is complicated because they both have the rivalry things going on with them but they also somewhat have positive moments with them too? it really depends on the situation because sometimes they're able to have civil conversations and somewhat support one another but they also probably would all try to stop one another from reaching the same common goal. nicole also has a leg up on cassidy as she's allowed to work within dead bird studio's grounds but cassidy only has his hotel lol.

Eno has known Clove for about 15 years now and has been a victor for over a decade at this point, why doesn't she just pay someone at the academy to break Clove's kneecaps a la Tonya Harding a month before the reaping. LMFAO. (ofc there wouldn't be a story if this was the case but im just wondering what the victors think) Don't even get me started on Cashmere and Gloss letting their baby sister go into the Games.

One of my favorite things is that people surprisingly really seem to like Glimmer??? Like i wrote this with the intention to redeem Glimmer, to bring her life after all the misogyny Glimmer has faced in the last 11 years of fandom, but I didn't expect people to like her so much omg. I LOVE GLim Glam, truly, and it makes me want to give her a bigger role than I already did. Even this most recent chapter, her part just happened very naturally and unintentionally. I'm very pro female friendship, girls supporting girls, and I think Glimmer would be a girls girly. Justice for Glimmer 2023.

Whey they don't sabotage their favorite tributes I think comes down to what winning means in careers districts. While the mentors know the truth, what future does Clove have in a life without going into the games? She'd be miserable, angry, and probably would never be able to look at the victors again out of sheer jealousy. Winning, while it has it's downs, also comes with immense honor. Maybe her advice to Clove would have been to make herself undesirable somehow (think razor sharp teeth), maybe thats common? Winning is still an immense honor and they DO have more privileges.. because really, what IS life like for those who don't go into the games, especially in 2.

In terms of Glimmer, especially being the younger sister of TWO victors (who are facing the horrific abuse that they do)..I think that was more of a "when" not an "if" she'd go into the games, since we know that relatives of victors (kids, siblings) are reaped far more often than the odds would suggest. In knowing that, I think they'd want her to be trained so she could survive, and also let her volunteer to take agency. If it's going to happen, let it be on her terms, let her hae some semblance of control of her life for a short time, before she loses authority and autonomy over her body. Let her feel agency for one time in her life, because volunteer or not, they were going to do those things to her after the games, you know? I think it breaks their hearts, to know what will come to their baby sister. All that to say, too, If she's the 3rd and final child, of course she wants to be like them. She wants to be like her older siblings, to complete the set of victor kids. Their parents would be hella proud. I don't think they could have stopped her from going if they tried, and so instead they gave her the best chance she could get.

hildegard. since he travels around a lot, he tends to eat stuff that can last longer and that's easy to have on the road. bread, cheeses, dried meats and fruits. tony. well. he has a notable and unfortunate dietary requirement, so generally speaking he just kind of does a Snake Meal of human flesh and whatever he has on hand, either leftovers or takeout or something he makes himself, and that keeps him going for about a week. girl dinner.

girl I love this blog cause now I can talk about this stuff. So the friend with the age gap relationship right him and his gf looked so in love and she was posting about their relationship every month like every month was an anniversary post story. And like she got a whole necklace with his initials and posted like 10 posts with him in it on ig. And like I’m pretty sure this dude was single for like 5/6 years before her and he posted her too which is a huge deal for guys to finally post a girl especially a guys who’s been single for that long. And he took her to his friends engagement party so everyone knew she was his girl too. And then randomly they unfollow each other, and he starts following a bunch of girls from probably dating apps and then after awhile she was also following new guys like I was like omg TEAAAA what happened they looked so in love like I thought it would last more than 4 months lol. Idk what this means but his friend either removed all his likes on her posts or there is a feature I don’t know about and she removed all his likes on her posts from being seen? Petty either way lol let me know who u think did it tho! This was my first time really considering Julien's relationships to the scions so closely!

Tataru: best friend. crime companion. absolutely uses her WOL privileges to gather dirt for Tataru and further whatever her current agenda is. gossiping over brunch and drinks is a mainstay.

Y'shtola: Julien respects and admires her wholeheartedly but is too intimidated by her to act in a more familiar capacity, though she would really like to.

Lyse: Their relationship is friendly, but lacks any real connection. Julien is happy to work or fight beside her but feels no pull to be closer.

Estinien: She really enjoys his company, on and off the battlefield. A sort of comfortable cohabitation where she doesn't feel the need to talk much. Relates to him better than their more scholarly companions. She would jump at the chance if he ever showed romantic interest in her but respects his solitary nature and is too intimidated by him to ever initiate. She would love to be closer, either as friends or partners, but doesn't want to spook him.

Thancred: Considers him a dear friend, is at ease in his company and trusts him implicitly. He's the one she befriended first, so she finds his company grounding, especially when their duties whisk them off to new places. No matter what they face, he makes her feel like its possible. Julien is not immune to his charms and would/has taken him to bed, but does not desire him as a true romantic partner.

Ryne: Has familial sort of feelings, not like a mother or sister, but maybe like an aunt. She tries to offer some warmth and guidance, but doesn't feel particularly strong about it. "if you're with Thancred, you're with me" sort of vibes.

Minfilia: Julien viewed her like an older sister. Looked up to her and relied on her for some direction. Respected and trusted her, but they didn't have particularly much in common and if Julien hadn't joined the scions, she probably wouldn't have felt much about her at all either way.

G'raha: She adores him and is frustrated by him in equal measure. Is hopelessly endeared by his earnest loyalty. Admires much about his strength of will and character. Gets sick to her stomach when she thinks too hard about his sacrifices and his hero-worship. It unsettles her as much as it awes her. Definitely thinks about him romantically sometimes but is worried it wouldn't be a healthy dynamic, and is fearful of the depths of his devotion. Enjoys his company and always wants him along regardless.

Alphinaud: She is like the proudest aunt there ever was! Absolutely adores him and holds him in the highest respect. Cannot wait to see what all he accomplishes and will do anything to help him get there. Tends to zone out when he talks, doesn't always understand what he's talking about, but trusts his strategic prowess.

Alisaie: If they were closer in age, they'd be best of friends, but due to the age difference, it's more familial feelings. Julien loves to trade both words and blows with her, loves having a consistent sparring partner and challenger. Trusts Alisaie with her life and would do anything for her. Likes to make mischief with her whenever they get the chance.

Urianger: "I like your funny words, magic man!" Julien can understand his language well enough, but the subject matter tends to go over her head. Its the same issue with her other scholarly companions. She cannot engage with him as well as she'd like, and is always afraid she's boring him with her more simple-minded nature. She likes to nap around him when he's reading, though. Despite everything, she trusts him fully and always feels safer for his presence.

Krile: Julien sees Krile as a good friend, almost as a sister. Tells her anything and relies on her for advice, and does gossip over brunch just as easily with her as with Tataru. Less chaotic gremlin bestie energy with Krile, but still is a close friend.

Suddenly started thinking more in-depth abt what Ruby's relationship to other canon characters would be like, since I've mostly only imagined them interacting with Sonic, Tails, and Amy (mostly Sonic, it takes them like a super long time to open up to many of his other friends)

It started after I saw a random post abt Silver not being a picky eater and basically eating anything that's given to him due to his time living in an apocalyptic future, to which one of my first thoughts was "Oh Ruby would LOVE him" since they like to cook. The image of their tail wagging super hard while they watch Silver scarf down a whole plate of arroz junto just won't leave my mind. They would definitely admire his optimistic view on life and I can see them becoming fast friends in the short time Silver spends in the present

Then the thought of her interacting with Rouge popped up too, tho that one was more random. I can see her being really envious of her looks and confidence and even asking her how she does it. How she can carry herself with so much confidence and interact with others so easily. I can see them having a chat abt it and Rouge trying to boost her confidence a bit. Also can totally see her complimenting Ruby on her name since it's a gem, just like she did with Topaz, tho that's more of a first-meeting thing and not something that happens after a relationship is established

Then Shadow popped up too (can't be friends with Rouge without at least knowing Shadow and Omega) and honestly? Don't think they'd trust each other much at first. Both get weird vibes from each other and are too standoff-ish to really interact unless there's someone else there to ease the tension. They do find a common ground due to their pasts tho, and eventually do become somewhat friends. Not besties but they're chill with each other and I can see them sparring occassionally along with Sonic or running into each other randomly and sitting down to watch the scenery together or something

And then there's Omega. He greatly admires her destructive power. She finds him funny, sometimes a little intimidating tho. Probably had a bit of trouble trusting him too bc he's an Eggman robot but she quickly sees he's with the good guys so they're chill. Nothing much deeper than that tbh but that's fine. Sometimes relationships aren't that deep and that's ok

for both of the ghostalines, they started adventuring with their companions out of a common interest (s and susie with their dislike of cows, and v and obie with their love of jazz) and ended up falling in love over the course of their adventure. like parent like child, i suppose. s found that she liked travelling with susie because despite the antics of the west, she was that one thing that was always there for her. v enjoys travelling with obie because of a couple reasons, though. those reasons being he's got the swag, he's got the shmooves, he's fine as hell, and they got attached Real quick. for the both of them I don't think their initial interactions would have gone any differently, other than v maybe striking up a convo with obie about his oboe at the park. (for the bonus. s you would need to beat in a pain tolerance contest, or get really close to doing so at the least, for him to be impressed and wanna adventure with you. with v you would need to probably calm them down enough to even talk/convince them to come with you.)

deliri travels with gabby because she's just cool. he just enjoys her vibes and the energy she brings to the adventure. your honor they are besties. the way they'd meet in the nongame way would be at the speakeasy. deliri saw her on the dance floor and was a bit curious abt the style. talked to her a bit, figured out she liked to fight too, stuff like that. after that bit of chatting he'd bring up the possibility joining his adventure and she jumps on that. (bonus: find deliri sitting at the bar and buy him a couple drinks, after a couple he would question you like "what, you tryna butter me up for a hookup or something?", and you would need to convince him its for adventure, not a hookup)

jerry travels with alphonse because they are both violent and they just enable each other all the time. just like, jerry is considering fighting a swarm of bees? alphonse is right there with it about to fight them. alphonse is about to pop a dudes brains with his jaw? jerry's cheering him on bro. honestly, it was a terrible idea for them to team up because now nothing stands in their way. if they were to meet in a not ingame way, it probably would have been in a "alphonse goes to join a fight to steal jerry's kill" kinda way, and it just kept happening to the point that jerry was just like. "wanna team up?" and boom they did. (bonus: if you manage to survive one of its contraptions and/or beat it before it breaks down, it offers up a team up to cause even more destruction.)

ibis is a bit complicated. for the first half of his adventure or so, he travelled with obie. not really much of a reason other than he was lonely and obie was pretty nice. after going to SIT though, he started travelling with simone, mainly because he found her interesting. at around the point of government valley however, he began to adventure alone. didn't really want to put anyone else through this area it seemed. (bonus: give him A cheese he has not seen before and he is down to adventure/hj)

also bonus bonus!!!: if this oc wasn't main character material then they would ABSOLUTELY be goofy companion material. this oc being porcini! a funny little mushroom from about 1080 years in the future or something who got isakaed into the 1920s. they have not only a glock, but also a little fog machine that slots into their gills that spews out poison gas! not to mention they have things called truffles who follow them around and are just little balls of dopamine, and are also essential to porcini's survival! truly just pure little guy energy. also very unhinged. you would find them in crystaldream lake trying to fix a very large (compared to them) mechanical spider with mushrooms growing out of it. to have them join you, you would need to help fix it. they would also probably unlock new dialogue with the mushroom people, similar to gary in wol.

WEEK 4 QUESTIONS - COMPANIONS

My Luz-centric brain is currently driving me insane with the possibilities of how she may fit into the Force of Nature AU.

Like, first off, this could completely recontextualize her relationships with both characters. For Hunter, I see it going either one of two ways.

She works with, or at least meets, Force and Hunter pre-Young Blood Old Souls, and this is how Hunter is introduced to Luz, in his quiet, kinder persona. They're not super close or anything, they'd probably only meet once or twice, but their relationship is most likely positive. Then in season two Luz becomes enemies with the Golden Guard, which is kinda awkward for Hunter because he knows her and she's not some horrific wild witch, despite going against the emperor's rule? But he still plays it up, until you get to Hunting Palisman. Now the face reveal scene is more than just that, but it's also an identity revealed scene, so Luz now knows the Golden Guard is a benevolent superhero in his spare time.

She meets Hunter as the Golden Guard and the events of HP go about the same, except now we have the dramatic possibility of Luz meeting Force's super cool sidekick, only to realize it's, y'know, Hunter.

Based on how much I wrote for 1 you can probably tell which one I prefer. Speaking of Force, Luz's relationship with Willow would also change. I feel you could easily replace Luz learning Willow was gifted with plant magic with Willow being Force and not change anything, and then Luz is freaking out because oh my god I'm training to be a witch AND I'm a superhero's bestie?! Amazing! Sorry I initially meant this as a simple question but my brain kinda lost track of itself. I'll stop now.

Ooooooh yeah!! I didn't talk about Luz much in this AU because she's the main character of her own story and Willow doesn't really play a big part in the main plot of season 1 so it's easy to imagine her off having these superhero adventures when she's not involved in those season 1 hexside based antics with Luz. But yeah I did imagine that while Luz was too tied up with her witch apprenticeship to get involved in Force of Nature stuff, she is aware of it and the two stories have probably crossed paths once or twice.

Luz was clearly in the Demon Realm for a few days-possibly weeks before she met Willow in IWATA so I like to imagine that she's definitely at least heard of Force of Nature or possibly saw her in action from a distance. The emotional eye glow is actually very rare with witches so that specific shade of neon green becomes an iconic staple of the Force persona. Everybody recognizes it. So when Luz is spying on Willow and Amity from the bushes and Willow has her little temper tantrum and the vines begin to writhe and her eyes turn into that, it clicks for Luz who this person is. So their first meeting is extra cute cuz they're both geeking out over each other. It's like.

"You're human :D!!!'

"You're a superhero :D!!!"

(Sidenote: the concept of Superheroes are very much a thing from human realm pop culture. So while that is basically what Willow and Hunter are, they don't actually know that. Luz is the first person to call them Superheroes, quickly followed by Gus. And his influence with the whole penstagram thing leads to the term being thrown around as the common name for them. Ironically Willow and Hunter never use it themselves. They're pretty humble about what they do.)

Anyway, yes, Luz probably drops into a Force of Nature plot every once in a while and has definitely met Hunter once or twice. Definitely not to the extent that she gets to know him personally. He's still just "Willow--sorry Force's crime fighting partner."

However, once Luz shows up on the scene, she's hard to keep at arm's length. Hunter tries to remain reserved and aloof but she has no concept of personal space and she's managed to get close enough to catch a glimpse of him.

But yeah anyway from the little she interacted with him she got the impression that he was a gentle sweetheart. Tbh I think season 1 Luz would've been super into him (he's edgy but he's sweet.) if she wasn't so genre savvy and was subconsciously aware from the beginning that he was intended to be Willow's love interest.

Anyway Luz absolutely shatters Hunter's aloof persona by activating a glyph and he was immediately like "WOAH THAT WAS SO COOL HOW DID YOU DO THAT? :D"

Unfortunately she didn't get an opportunity to show him before they were forced to part ways.

Hunter, on his end, didn't originally know much about Luz. He knew her status as a human and he knew Belos was quite interested in her. It wasn't until the end of season 1 that she started making herself a nuisance that Hunter was obligated to see her as the opposing side. Even in canon, Hunter never seemed to hate Luz. He never believed she was evil. Just misguided and really annoying about it. He sees her similarly here so their early dynamic when he was still the GG remains the same.

It DOES make Hunting Palismen really interesting because YEAH. Luz doesn't find a stranger laying unconscious in the Golden Guard attire. She finds Willow's quiet and altruistic superhero partner, who is also apparently the smug and insufferable Golden Guard. So this identity reveal is absolutely bewildering.

And it already fits really well cuz Hunter already starts off so pissed off and tight lipped when Luz tries to talk to him in that episode.

So in this case she would attack him with questions over it. Willow said that the Golden Guard doesn't approve of Force of Nature at all so what's the deal?? Why does he do the vigilante stuff??? What's his name??? Does he have an ulterior motive??? He seems like a sweetie so why the heck is he stealing palismen??? Is he actually a good guy pretending to be a bad guy??? Or hmm maybe its the other way around....

Hunter refuses to answer any of it. Just gets all cagey and grunts in response to all her interrogating as they sneak around and try to figure out what to do now.

Some things do end up slipping out of Hunter as they spend more time together and he gets more attached to Luz. In addition to revealing the powerless witch thing, and deciding his own future, he accidentally vents a little frustration with the lack of actual helping the Golden Guard does. He doesn't mention that it's why he chose to become a vigilante but Luz is smart enough to put two and two together.

"Also..." He says, glaring at his tangled up fingers. "Don't you dare..." He begins aggressively before trailing away as he seemingly thinks better of it. "I mean...please don't...um..."

"Don't worry." Luz answers, saving him the breath. "I'm not gonna tell her."

Hunter's head snaps in her direction, surprised. Relief washes over his features. Then it all scrunches up in annoyance. Then he looks elsewhere. He nods, not looking at her.

"You're welcome." Luz chirps.

The rest of the episode is executed exactly as it is in canon, except now there's this extra layer of understanding. Luz comes out of this experience, knowing Hunter is a good guy. And now she's his secret holder 💕
