I know it's Pride Month but we can't only focus on our disaster gays. Let's see what Lulu is up to!
Magnolia wanted to go to Plumbite Pier, but her stupid twin brother and his friend just had to tag along, so she invited Lulu so she wasn't completely surrounded by idiots.
Lulu's a bit desperate to be liked, but keeping the daughter of a pop star around isn't bad at all. She always offers to pay.
Magnolia: Does cotton candy have carbs?
Lulu: It's, like, all carbs.
Magnolia: Oh well. I'll take the pink one.
Lulu: And I'll have the caramel corn!
Mags and Lulu are pretty similar, and other girls are intimidated by Magnolia (because she's so pretty, not because she's mean as a snake, who told you that??? they're just jealous!!), so they benefit enough from each other to consider one another friends. How sweet!
Mags: I am SO pissed at Todd. I asked him to come with me and he totally blew me off!
Lulu: Isn't football practice tonight?
Mags: Yeah, but he's already the quarterback! He already knows how to throw a ball, what else is there to practice?
Mags: I'm his girlfriend, I should be the priority, not his stupid sports ball!
If there was no sports ball, there'd be nothing for them to cheer for, but Lulu doesn't want to piss her off more.
Lulu: You need to nip that in the bud and make him regret not coming tonight.
Lulu: You should go through the haunted house with Andres!
Mags: What, no way!
Her brother's best friend? Ew!
Lulu: Come on, he's obsessed with you. You don't have to do anything, just remind Todd there's a line of guys out there who will treat you right if he doesn't.
Hmm…
Mags: Ooooh, that's diabolical. I love it. Are you sure you don't have the evil trait?
Lulu: Maybe someday.
Getting on Magnolia Plott's good side and the plotting (no pun intended) that requires is sure to get her an in with the cool kids. As if nepotism hasn't already.
Time to tuck that mean trait away and turn on the charm, Mags!
Mags: Hiiiii, Andres. You're going on the haunted house ride with me. Just don't touch me… Or look at me too hard.
She tried.
All Andres hears is his crush wanting to do something with him.
Andres: Deal!
Her twin isn't so hype.
Moss: Aw, c'mon Mags! What am I supposed to do?
Mags: I dunno, eat dirt for all I care.
She spots Lulu approaching them and an idea comes to mind.
Mags: Oh, you can hang out with Lulu! She'd love to hear all about your stupid hobbies!
Lulu: I would?
Ugh, fine. Lulu can put up with keeping this dweeb company if it means staying within Mags' good graces.
Lulu: So, uh, you make FlipFlops, right?
Moss: Oh, you've seen them?!
Lulu: …Yeah.
I mean, that's true. Thankfully he didn't ask if she liked them.
If Lulu's gonna put up with this guy, she might as well get a drink out of it.
Lulu: How about you get us some boba and tell me all about them?
Moss: Okay!
Pretty girl pay attention to Moss? Pretty girl get drink!
As the two approach the boba stand, Moss links arms with Lulu and pulls out his wallet.
Moss: Howdy, Horse Ranch townie! Get this lovely lady whatever she wants.
He's a bit of a dweeb, but at least he's sweet. He's not half bad on the eyes either.
Moss keeps room for the Watcher as they idly chat on opposite ends of the bench and enjoy their boba tea. Lulu nearly chokes on a tapioca pearl and Moss is just glad he hasn't made a fool of himself in front of a cheerleader.
So the ride was scarier than Magnolia thought and she accidentally punched Andres in the face. She'll probably leave that part out when she tells Todd.
The weird thing is, she actually does feel kind of bad. Andres is a dork but he's always nice to her. Not her best moment.
Meanwhile, listening to Moss ramble on about the stunts he pulls for his videos is interesting enough. His excitement is contagious, Lulu can't hold back a smile.
Mags' brother is definitely off limits, good thing Lulu doesn't like him like that. Let's hope it stays that way.

Bringing a Landgraab into your friend group has its perks. Mal invites The Squad (trademark pending) to a secluded, exclusive area in Windenburg, The Bluffs, to hang out.
The sun is setting and the air is chilly, so Jaden gets a fire started to keep things toasty.
Claudia: Ugh, I'm still freezing. Can we make this fire fire-ier?
Gemma: Maybe you wouldn't be cold if you didn't wear a mini skirt in the winter.
Claudia: Don't act like you don't love it.
She's not lying.
Gemma: C'mere, we can keep each other warm.
Mal's flirty behavior senses are tingling.
Mal: Hey Jaden, Marina, you guys wanna check out the swimming hole?
Having not been born yesterday, Jaden catches on immediately. More time with his crush is also a plus.
Jaden: Yeah!
Marina: I wanna stay here.
Mal: No you don't.
The trio runs off, leaving Gemma and Claudia behind. They don't seem to mind.
Claudia: I miss the city life sometimes, but I've grown to love the outdoors. You don't get quiet moments like this in SanMy.
Gemma: You don't get quiet moments anywhere with you.
Claudia smirks.
Claudia: I'm proud of you for coming out, by the way. I know that was hard.
Gemma: Not really, you already knew.
Claudia: Well, it takes one to know one.
Wait… does that mean…?
Gemma: You're-
Claudia: Do you seriously think I'd ever waste time on a man?
Wow. Claudia's into girls too.
Maybe Mal was right. Maybe Claudia really does like her back…
Meanwhile, the other members of The Squad (trademark still pending) are up to goofier shenanigans.
Mal: I'm NOT doing a Polar Bear Plunge, Marina! If I die, my dad will kill me!
Marina: Aww, come on, live a little!
Jaden: I'll do it if Mal does it!
Marina: YES! Do it, do it, do it-
Mal: Wow, you guys really want this to happen. Fiiiine, I'll go, but Jaden has to go first.
Marina: Yay!
As Jaden preps to freeze his plumbob off, Gemma gets a hold of Claudia's hands.
Gemma: Why aren't you wearing gloves? Your hands are freezing!
Claudia: People couldn't see my nails if I was wearing gloves, now could they?
Gemma: Your priorities are something else, Esposito.
Gemma: Maple and I have been training really hard. I think we're ready for our first competition.
Claudia: Please, Dahlia and I have BEEN ready.
Gemma: So I guess I'll see you on Saturday.
Claudia: I guess you will…
She resists the urge to say 'it's a date' but… is it?
Unlike our girls, Jaden doesn't mind cannonballing into things!
Marina: Your turn, nepo baby!
Mal: Your family was about as rich as mine until a couple years ago!
Jaden: Come on in, the water's… definitely water, I think!
Being more of a football guy than a swimmer, Mal does an unimpressive flop into the water and instantly regrets it.
Jaden: I wish the sun was out…
Mal: It looks like you've never BEEN out in it, man.
Balking in mock offense, Jaden splashes Mal, who returns the favor.
It's all fun and games until someone's about to die.
Jaden: Oh shit, Mal, you're blue!
Mal: Nah I'm in a pretty good mood, actually.
Jaden: I… Let's just get out of the water.
After changing, Jaden offers to warm Mal up a little, which he hesitantly accepts. He's not big on physical intimacy, but he's close with Jaden, so he doesn't mind.
Mal prefers taking things slow, but sometimes Jaden lays it on a little thick. He wishes it didn't bother him…

The Watcher has graced the teens with another day at Copperdale High. Gemma freshens up in case Claudia sits next to her in class, while Marina wonders how this guy is clipping through the lockers. The T-Pose Challenge is no joke!
Lulu spots Magnolia Plott, her fellow cheer team member, and takes the opportunity to schmooze.
Lulu: Good morning! You are looking so fetch today, girly!
Mags: Lemon, it's too early for pep. Wait until after I get some caffeine in me, okay?
Lulu: Let's get some lattes. My treat!
Now that Zuri's graduated, they need a new team captain. Lulu's a tad self-obsessed, but she's not foolish. She's too new to the team to have a shot, but Magnolia's a shoe-in. Getting in her good graces would be Lulu's key to popularity.
Mags: Class starts in like 10 minutes.
Lulu: So? I know better than anyone that not being heir doesn't mean your legacy family title isn't just as important. You deserve a lil treat!
Mags: …You make a compelling argument. Let's hit up the Plumbucks down the street.
Ignoring the fact that her sister is ditching one of her two classes, Gemma chats with Claudia.
Claudia: OMW, I knew it!
Gemma: No you didn't!
Claudia: Yes, I did! Come on, Gem, the closet was transparent.
Gemma: I appreciate your love and support, Clauds.
Claudia: My influence!
Gemma: Stop, it had nothing to do with you!
Y'know, like how a liar would say it.
Claudia seems extra giggly today. She wasn't expecting her to be this tickled about Gemma coming out, but she can't say she doesn't find it adorable.
Unbeknownst to Gemma, Claudia is absolutely giddy that Gemma is a lady lover as well. Maybe she has a shot?
Gemma's wondering if Claudia's giggling is from a case of itchy plumbob, but she doesn't see any tiger stripes on her…
Gemma eats a protein bar for lunch and focuses on studying. She made a coming-out post on Social Bunny so she'd prefer to be alone for a little bit.
Coming back from the library, Mal walks by and notices Gemma's by herself.
Mal: Hey, want a study buddy?
She supposes one person wouldn't hurt. Mal's harmless enough.
Mal: I saw your SB post. Congrats on coming out.
Gemma: Thanks, Mal.
Mal: Yeah. It must be hard.
He sure wouldn't know what that's like.
Mal hesitates. She can practically see him biting his tongue.
Gemma: Was there something else you were going to say?
Mal: Oh, uh. Maybe but I thought better of it. I'm just worried it'd come off rude.
Gemma: A Landgraab afraid of being rude? Come on, out with it!
Mal: Okay, okay. Well, I'm an unflirty Sim, right? That makes me extra intuitive when it comes to lovey dovey stuff. I'm obviously not an expert by any means, but I think you should tell Claudia how you feel.
Gemma's stomach twists into knots. No, how does Mal know??
Gemma: What feelings? Feelings of friendship?
Mal: I get it, having feelings sucks, but you're not doing either of you any favors by holding back. Claudia clearly likes you too.
Gemma: Really?! I mean, I, uh-
Gemma: Why are you doing this?
He hasn't given her a reason to distrust him, but he's still a Landgraab. He has to have some ulterior motive!
Mal: Because we're friends? Or, I mean, we are friends, right? I don't have a ton of those, considering my lineage…
Huh. She guesses being popular doesn't automatically mean strong friendships.
Mal: You and Jaden and your friends treat me like, I dunno, a real person. Not Malcolm Landgraab's kid. You guys have been cool to me, so I wanted to help you out.
Gemma: I… I'll think about it. Thank you, Mal. And, for the record, we're definitely friends.
They certainly are now. She's not sure she wants to risk her friendship with Claudia, but this talk certainly gave her a little more confidence!
This update couldn't be too wholesome. After some practice during lunch, Lulu notices her classmate, Aaron Watters, studying and stressing. Looks like he could use some pep… and she could use notes from the class she ditched this morning. Maybe they can help each other out?
Lulu: Heeeey, Aaron! You look like you could use some cheering up, and that's kind of my job now.
Whoa! Lulu Lemon is talking to him? Be cool, Watters.
Aaron: Oh, hey, Lulu. I'm just stressed about the trig exam on Friday. You know how it is.
Lulu: I'm never stressed.
Aaron: Never? How?
Lulu: A good bit of privilege and nepotism, but I'm also into positive affirmations and manifestation.
Aaron: Does that stuff really work?
Lulu: You'll never know if you don't try! I'll show you how. Repeat after me.
Lulu: I am smart. I am well-prepared. Success is my natural state.
Aaron: I… am smart. I am well-prepared. Success is my natural state.
Lulu: And I will let Lulu borrow my notes from history class!
Aaron: And I will- what? Lulu, you could have just asked. But yeah, that too.
At least it worked. Aaron's got some pep in his step, and Lulu isn't going to flunk out of high school. Everyone's a winner!

Claire, it's french! | a Brand New Maxis Match Hair
Something quick and fun for you today! I'm currently working on teaching myself how to mesh brand new maxis match clay styled hairs from scratch. This is my first honest go at it, and it turned out OK I think! There's some issues with morphing around the brow with certain face shapes, but I think it's good enough to play with. Shoutout to @lilchamomil for sharing tips and tricks on their processes! I've always wanted to make a brand new MM hair completely from scratch, and I feel like this could really be something cool!
That's all! Tag me if you use it! Have fun!

Gemma has really warmed up to her therapist, Rhys. He's a pretty nice guy, and she's gotten more comfortable talking to him about stuff. Considering the big pride flag hanging on his wall, she knows she's safe to talk to him about that kind of stuff, and he's been pretty helpful.
Gemma: I still haven't mustered up the guts to tell my mom and dad.
Rhys: Don't sell yourself short. You've come out to two of your siblings so far. That's big. You can tell them whenever you want.
Gemma: That's the thing, I do want to tell them. Like, now.
Gemma: But I don't know, I get freaked out thinking about their reaction.
Rhys: Well, let's think about the worst case, best case, and most likely scenario. What's the worst possible way they could react?
Gemma: Disowning me, I guess.
Rhys: And the best?
Gemma: …A parade?
Rhys: Do either of those seem likely?
Gemma: The disowning, no. I dunno, my mom's a singer, she might be into parades… but that'd be a lot of work for the Watcher, so probably not.
Rhys: What IS their reaction most likely going to be?
Gemma: …Accepting me for who I am.
Rhys: Our brains like to assume the worst sometimes, but it's important to stay grounded and remind yourself the worst case isn't always the likely case. Do you feel safe coming out to your parents?
Gemma: Yeah, I do.
Rhys: Then it's up to you to decide when that time comes.
Gemma: I know thoughts are just thoughts, but I keep thinking when I do tell them, things are gonna change. I dunno, like they'll look at me differently.
Rhys: It's an understandable thought. Maybe it'll be easier to think about it as sharing this part of your life with them.
Rhys: It's not so much that you've changed, just that you've learned something new about yourself. It's up to you who you share that information with. Do you think you'd feel better if they knew this about you?
Gemma: Yeah… I do.
Rhys: Then I think you have your answer.
Gemma: I-I think I'm going to tell them. Tonight. Thank you, Rhys.
Rhys: No need to thank me, Gemma, that's what I'm here for. You have my number if you need anything, but I think you'll be just fine.
Ophelia and Xander are working tonight, but Gemma doesn't think she can wait.
Gemma teleports back to Tartosa and sprints to the Lemon Drop. She lingers at the end of the bridge, trying to ignore the crowd of Sims walking by.
Gemma: Okay, you can do this. They love you.
When Gemma walks in, she eyes her parents and beelines toward them.
Xander: Hey! What are you doing here, muffin?
Taking a deep breath, Gemma gladly accepts a kiss from her dad.
Gemma: I was in the neighborhood. Do you and Mom have a minute? I wanted to talk to you both.
Ophelia: I just finished a set, let's go somewhere more private.
They get settled on the rooftop patio, the crisp air cooling Gemma's flushed cheeks.
Ophelia: What's up, buttercup? Everything okay?
Gemma: Yeah, everything's fine. I just wanted to tell you guys something.
Gemma: I love you guys and I want you to know about this part of me I've discovered. I've pondered over it a lot and… I'm gay. I-I just thought you should know that.
Unlike when she came out to Jaden, she resists the urge to say 'tada'.
Ophelia: Oh, honey, we're so happy you feel comfortable talking to us about this.
Xander: We're proud of you no matter what, kiddo.
A wave of relief rushes over Gemma. The most likely scenario was indeed the most likely. She's also glad she doesn't have to go to a parade.
Ophelia: If you ever have any questions, you can come to either of us.
Gemma: Uh, no offense, but what do you guys know about being queer? You're both straight.
Xander: Lesson number one, kid, not all opposite sex couples are straight.
Gemma: Wait, what?
Ophelia: Your father and I are both pansexual, sweetheart. Before we met each other, your father had dated a man and I was dating your aunt Libby.
Gemma: You dated Aunt Libby?! Why didn't you guys mention you were pan?!
Xander: It never came up organically.
Ophelia: Look, what really matters is that you're our baby, and we're always going to love and support you. Come here, sweetie.
Gemma goes over to her parents and throws her arms around them, resisting the urge to cry. She didn't think she'd cry but at least it's a good cry.
Her parents aren't perfect, and they'd be more than willing to admit that, but they get things right where it really matters.
Gemma feels more free than she ever has in her entire life. Things are going to be okay.

Today is Lulu's first cheerleading showcase, and Gemma comes to support her. It's a good thing she did because the turnout is… something. Well, something might be overselling it.
Lulu: Thanks for coming out, Gem. Don't worry, I'll make it worth your while to see the master at work.
Gemma: Didn't you just join the team?
Lulu: We're legacy Sims, sis, we're built different. Come on, let's take a selfie to commemorate my future win!
I tried about 10 times to get the photo background provided in the actual background but they refused so here's a sweet lil sister selfie.
With all the confidence she can muster (which is too much), Lulu starts her routine and promptly falls on her face halfway through. Whoops.
Their step-cousin and current cheer captain Zuri is not amused. She's graduating soon, is this the state she's leaving the squad in?
Lulu encouraged her bestie Shea, Moses' daughter, to show off her moves as well. She's not as athletic as Lulu, but she's confident enough. Why not? They need more new recruits since the seniors are graduating soon.
Lulu continues her routine, trying not to let the fact that her latest crush, Watson, had arrived to the event. Don't faceplant again, girly, it's not a good look.
Gemma chats with Marina, who came to flirt with cute football players, but when she sees Lulu's crush, her nosy self can't help but interfere.
Gemma: Ooooh, I'm gonna talk her up to him.
Marina: See if he has single friends!
Zuri: Is no one taking this competition seriously?!
Shea and Lulu both finish their performances and give each other a congratulatory hug. Shea seems to have impressed Zuri, but that's not saying much considering how chaotic this event has been so far.
Gemma introduces herself to Watson and starts up a conversation, eventually shifting the convo topic over to Lulu and how great she is. Watson seems to agree.
Shea: Uh, don't look now, girl, but your sister's chatting your man up.
Lulu: What?
Gemma knows Lulu likes Watson, what was she doing talking to him?
Lulu: No good rotten backstabbing-
Gemma: Hey, good job out there! That Watson guy wanted me to give you-
Lulu: I don't wanna hear it, boy stealer!
Gemma: What?
Lulu: Don't play dumb! I saw you flirting with Watson! You KNOW I like him!
Gemma: How was I flirting?!
Lulu: You kept smiling and looking him in the eyes!
Gemma: So paying attention to someone talk is flirting?
Lulu: It's the only reason I listen to boys!
Lulu: How could you do this to me?! I know we butt heads but I never thought you'd stab me in the back like this!
Gemma: Lu, I would never! I was talking you up to him!
Lulu: Nice try, no one can resist a hunk like him!
Gemma: …That guy, a hunk? Really?
Lulu: Oh yeah, and how can I trust you're telling the truth?
Gemma: Uh, because I'm gay?
Lulu: Yeah ri- Wait, what?
This isn't really how Gemma wanted to break the news to Lulu but the opportunity arose. Lulu's anger fizzles out as this news sinks in. Oh.
Lulu: Oh. Congrats?
Gemma: Thanks, but maybe try a sorry. Or a thank you, since I got you his number.
Lulu: Really? OMW, you're the best! Can we pretend that didn't happen?
Gemma: The screaming at me part? Sure.
Sisters are required to bicker now and then. Lulu makes it easy!
Lulu: There are a few bicurious girls on the squad I can send your way, just say the word!
Gemma: Love you too, sis.
These two are about as different as Sims can get, but at the end of the day, no matter how much they annoy each other, they're always on each other's side.
Gemma: Wait, are they packing up already? Who won?
Lulu: Probably me.
Zuri: Nobody won. The judge just danced by the stereo all night. I'm not even wearing the right uniform. I can't wait to graduate from this Watcher-forsaken glitch of a school.

Merry Winterfest!
I just realized you can change the duration of seasons in the game, so now I can celebrate holidays without it getting repetitive. Hooray!
Ophelia has had a parent die on Winterfest morning the past two times we celebrated, but luckily that can only happen twice. It's a joyous day, filled with lots of laughter and gifts.
Father Winter even brought Wren some knitting supplies! Thank goodness, yarn is expensive.
Wren tries her best to make everyone in her family something, but when she asked Jaden what he wanted for Winterfest, he requested she teach him how to knit.
He wants to give Marina a gift to apologize for hurting her, but he thinks buying something feels like a cop-out.
Wren: Are you sure you I can't just give you one? I make, like, three of these a day.
Jaden: Thanks, Wrennie, but I think it'll mean more to her if I made it.
Wren walks him through the process. Knitting is her favorite way to stim, but Jaden taking an interest is fun too.
Jaden: Uh, is it supposed to look like this?
Wren: No, but it'll look like what it's supposed to be when you're finished. Don't ask me why everything looks like a striped scarf until you're done.
Oh well. Time to finish up and complete his Winterfest mission.
Jaden bundles up for the trip to Chestnut Ridge, nervously approaching the front door. He hopes Marina is willing to hear him out. She hasn't shown any animosity towards him but they've both tried to keep their distance.
Marina answers the door, looking more confused than upset.
Marina: Jaden, what are you-
Jaden: I'm so sorry, Marina. I don't want things to be weird, and I hate that I made it weird.
Marina: No, Jaden, I'm the one who made it weird. I read into things too much. I'm sorry.
Jaden: I… I really want us to be friends again.
Marina: We're still friends! I was just embarrassed. We're cool, I promise.
Jaden: I think I owe you an explanation.
Marina: No, it's okay. You don't need to tell me-
Jaden: Well, I WANT to tell you.
Jaden: Rina, you're so much fun, and so pretty, and you'll find an amazing guy someday, but that guy can't be me because I… I'm gay.
It feels weird to admit that. He always knew he was different than other boys, he just didn't consider it was his lack of attraction to girls.
She stands there and contemplates for a moment.
Marina: Oh. Okay.
Jaden: …You don't seem surprised.
Marina: No, now that I'm thinking about it, a lot of things are making more sense. Claudia's right, my gaydar sucks.
Marina: Thanks for telling me, Jaden.
Jaden: I'm sorry I hurt you, I-
Marina: No, no, don't be sorry. This is who you are. I'm gonna be just fine. How about we put this behind us and go back to being best buddies?
Jaden: I'd love that.
Jaden: Oh, I almost forgot, I made you a present.
Marina: You didn't have to do that!
Jaden: I wanted to! Wren helped but I made it myself.
When Marina opens the gift, a handmade orange tiger beanie, she joyfully squeals.
Marina: I love it! Thanks, Jay. You're the sweetest.
After hugging her friends goodbye, Marina goes back inside. She ignores the sounds of her siblings arguing over who gets the last turkey leg, thinking over everything that happened.
She'll find her dream guy someday, and they saved their friendship. Time will heal her wounds.

When Cleo mentions she and Sebastian run a tattoo and piercing studio in SanMy, Ophelia books a session to show there's no bad blood.
Ophelia: Thanks for squeezing us in.
Sebastian: No worries, least we could do. Any story behind it?
Ophelia: I wanted to honor an old friend.
Ophelia: Oh, it's perfect, thank you!
Sebastian: Glad you like it. Cleo'll be out in a sec to take care of your rugrat.
Said rugrat comess to see if her mom's done.
Wren: It's so cool! I want lots of tattoos too!
Ophelia: Just don't get them in your school's bathroom, okay?
Since Wren's wanted her ears pierced for a while, they also get that done by Cleo.
Wren: Is it gonna hurt?
Cleo: A little, but you're a tough one, I can tell. You're gonna be fine. So Lunie says you like knitting, yeah? What do you like to knit?
Wren: Tiger beanies, mostly.
Cleo's doing a good job of distracting Wren, but having her mom there is also helpful.
Ophelia: Why don't you tell Miss Cleo about your plant hangers?
Cleo: Oh, I love those! I'll have to commission you!
Wren grips her mom's hand for dear life when the needle goes through.
Cleo: Aaaand we're done! See, that wasn't so bad, huh?
Wren: I-I guess…
Cleo: Let's get a look at those. You like 'em?
Ophelia can't help but smile when Wren's face lights up.
Wren: I love them! Thank you thank you!
Cleo: You're welcome, doll. Just take good care of 'em.
Two girls run over to Wren after she hops off her stool, both giving her big hugs.
Astrid: You look awesome!
Luna: Yeah, you did a good job, Mom.
Cleo: Did you ever doubt me, kiddo?
Astrid drags Wren off to show her something, but Luna sheepishly stays behind.
Luna: I-I didn't know you were Wren's mom. I really like your music, Mrs. Lemon. Can I please have a selfie?
Ophelia: Oh, of course, sweetheart.
Luna excitedly snaps a pic and thanks Ophelia before running off to go hang out with Wren and Astrid.
Ophelia: I hope you didn't tell her to do that to boost my ego.
Cleo: Haha, no, despite my and Seb's best efforts, she's a pop girly. Glad she at least likes someone like you.
Ophelia: So I guess I won't be seeing you at one of my performances?
Cleo: Yeeeeeah, probably not my scene, but we can sit in the back of the PTA meetings and judge the Karens.
Ophelia: Sounds like a plan.

Life moves on and the pain aches less, but the Lemons are still feeling gloomy over Marshmallow dying. The kids are strong, they'll be okay, but Ophelia can't help but worry about her youngest in particular...
Wren is fully a preteen now, which usually just means the kids get a new haircut and some slightly more mature clothes. What Ophelia was not expecting was for Wren, who loved colorful clothes, to come downstairs before school dressed like she was going to join the Black Parade.
Ophelia: Wren, sweetie, do you want to talk? Are you still feeling sad about Marshmallow?
Wren: Yeah, aren't you?
Ophelia: Well, yes, I'm just worried you're taking it a little harder. That's, uh, that's a new look for you.
Wren: Don't you like it? I think I look cool.
Ophelia: I always think you look beautiful, gummy bear.
It's not like she has a problem with more alternative looks, but this seems so sudden.
Ophelia: Where did you get these clothes? I don't remember buying them.
Wren: Luna let me borrow them!
Oh, right. Wren told them all about the new friends she made at school, Luna and Astrid, two sisters who took her under their wing, but Wren failed to mention that their style was so… dark.
Ophelia: I see. Well, that was very generous of her.
Don't get it twisted, Ophelia's thrilled that Wren's made some friends, since she struggled to do so for quite a while, but she hopes they haven't pressured her to dress a certain way.
Ophelia: Did Luna and Astrid tell you that you needed to dress like them?
Wren: No. I just like how they dress. They look cool like cousin Greta 'cept they don't eat garbage.
Ophelia: Honey, Greta's a freegan. She doesn't eat garbage, she eats food she finds IN the garbage.
Wren: If it's in the garbage, doesn't it become garbage?
She's gotcha there.
Ophelia: We're getting off subject. It's okay that you're trying something new. I'm just making sure you're not being peer pressured. We all go through little fashion phases-
Wren: It's not a phase, Mom!
Yep, Wren's officially a preteen. An emo preteen. Watcher help us all.
Part of growing up is discovering who you are, so even if it's a shock for Ophelia to see her baby girl in dark eyeliner, she just wants Wren to be her true self. She and Xander taught the kids not to judge on appearances, so she won't either.
Well, Ophelia might have another reason to judge Wren's new friends, considering she comes back from school with an undercut and bangs, courtesy of said friends.
Jaden: Oh Watcher, what did you do? Mom's not gonna like this.
Wren: No way, she'll love it! I'm being my true self!
Ophelia: Wren Esme Lemon, you can't let a CHILD cut your hair!
Wren: But-
Ophelia: No buts! She could have cut you, or… how did she SHAVE your head?
Wren: She brought her dad's electric razor! It has a safety thingy on it!
I don't think that'll help your case, Wren.
Ophelia: Hair stylists go to school for a reason. If you wanted to get a haircut, you should have come to me or your father.
Wren: I thought Luna did a good job.
Ophelia: She… She did, actually. Like, scary good. Th-That's not the point! She could have done a horrible job!
Wren: I-I'm sorry, Mom. Am I in trouble?
Ophelia: Well… I suppose it wasn't a rule, mostly because it's not something we'd think would happen. Just… If you want to make physical changes to your body, run it by me and Dad first next time, alright?
Wren: Okaaaaay…
Wren: Y'gotta admit, it looks super cool, right?
Ophelia: I don't gotta admit anything… But yeah, it is a good look on you, sweetie. No more playground haircuts though, got it?
Wren: We're not animals, Mom! We did it in the bathroom.
Later on in the evening, Ophelia gets a visit from an unfamiliar face, thought she quickly identifies herself as Cleo Bennett, Luna and Astrid's mom. She caught wind of the stunt her eldest daughter pulled and wanted to assure Ophelia that they were nipping that in the bud.
Cleo: Trust me, Seb and I read her the riot act after we found out. She's chopped off the hair of every doll we've ever bought her but she's never done it to a Sim before. Rest assured, she'll be keeping her hands, and the safety scissors, to herself from now on.
Ophelia: Hey, I get it. Kids are kids. Honestly, she did a pretty good job, but Wren will definitely be waiting to book her next appointment until Luna gets her cosmetology license.
Cleo: Ha! Well, I'm glad she at least didn't try to give her a mohawk.
Cleo: When I put two and two together and realized Wren was Ophelia Lemon's kid, I was freaking out. I thought you'd think Seb and I are low-class buffoons. Thanks for being so understanding.
Ophelia: My eldest daughter bought a horse without me knowing, I'm not one to judge.
The two chat for a while longer, and any flicker of doubt in Ophelia's mind about Wren's friends disappears. Those girls might be a little wild, but they're being raised by loving parents trying their best, and hey, isn't that what they're all doing? Wren's going to be just fine.

It's been a couple days since Marshmallow crossed over the rainbow bridge and, as expected, it's hit Ophelia the hardest. The kids missed her, she'd been around their entire lives, but she was Ophelia's first baby. She hopes wherever Marshmallow is, she's happy.
Despite her best efforts, Ophelia's crying wakes Xander up. It kills him knowing he can't fix this for her, but he'll do what he can to comfort her and make this loss less painful.
While Ophelia works through that, it's time for Lulu's first day of active high school.
Lulu: Finally, no more rabbitholes!
Jaden: Eh, at least rabbitholes don't glitch.
Lulu: Glitches or not, I'm going to dominate this school!
Lulu: I'll be the most popular girl here in no time.
Jaden: I'm actually kind of popular, I could give you some tips.
Gemma: Me too! If you need to cry, do it in the bathroom stalls. You can muffle your sobs with paper towels.
Jaden: First tip, don't listen to Gemma.
Lulu: Don't worry, Jadey, I'm a shoe-in for the cheerleading squad, and popularity will basically fall into my lap after that. I won't forget you guys when I'm the queen of Copperdale High.
Jaden: Like, Prom Queen?
Lulu: No, actual queen.
Gemma: Well, just keep your grades up, sis.
Lulu: Uh, duh. Now that I'm hot I can get some nerd to do it for me. Later!
Jaden: I don't know why we even try.
Gemma: Oh, to spend a day in that twisted little mind of hers.
Gemma tries to talk to Marina before class about what happened. She doesn't know the full story, but she knows enough. Marina told Jaden over text she needed time and he's respected that boundary.
Marina: I'm not mad at him, Gem, I'm just embarrassed. I… I'll get over it.
Before going to class, Gemma bumps into Claudia.
Claudia: Hey. Is Jaden still hiding from Rina?
Gemma: Probably. I think he just doesn't want to make things worse.
Claudia: She finally told me about her crush. I could have told her she's not exactly Jaden's… type.
Claudia: You'd think growing up with Trent, her gaydar would be better.
Gemma's had her… suspicions about Jaden's sexuality, but despite her nosiness she doesn't want to pry.
Gemma: They'll sort things out.
Claudia says something else, but Gemma keeps staring at her lips.
Claudia: You okay, Lemon? You seem kinda zoned out.
Gemma: O-Oh. I'm gay-GREAT! Just, uh, thinking about how much better I am than you at… at things!
Claudia: … Are your new meds working okay?
Claudia's so pretty when she's concerned. How could Gemma NOT get tongue-tied?
Gemma's botched attempt at their usual playful banter is interrupted by the bell ringing.
Gemma: Uh, I'll talk to you after class! Bi! I mean lesbian! I mean bye!
Her cheeks feeling fifty shades of flushed, Gemma power walks into their classroom.
Phew, that was a close one. Thankfully, Gemma was too flustered to notice how flustered Claudia is.
Despite her nervous nature, Gemma still makes Claudia want to be a better, kinder Sim. It's no wonder she's developed a bit of a crush. It helps that Gemma's a good kisser.

Marshmallow has it pretty good, even she's willing to admit that. She has this big, big house that she lets all her hoomans stay in, and all she asks is for their undying love and affection in return. And treats.
There's lots of fun places for Marshmallow to do her favorite thing: sleep. Sometimes her stupid orange brother boops her on the head and wakes her up, but for the most part, they coexist peacefully. He always wants to play, but Marshmallow just gets tired a lot more lately.
The smaller hoomans that kept showing up have gotten bigger while Marshmallow has stayed the same size. She doesn't think that's fair, but at least they don't pull on her tail anymore.
Sometimes her favorite hooman makes Marshmallow special meals. It's a lot easier to chew. Marshmallow doesn't have the appetite she used to, but she can't resist a home-cooked meal.
Sometimes her hooman gives her brother hugs and loves instead, so Marshmallow has to remind her who the real star of this show is. Very loudly.
Hooman likes to sing and so does Marshmallow! Except her singing is more aggressive.
Sometimes the hairy hooman eats food and doesn't give any to Marshmallow! Rude!
He still talks to her and pays her lots of attention at least, so she supposes she'll let him eat his hooman food.
Marshmallow has lots of chores to do. First, she has to scratch at her cat tree. Then she has to explore the backyard to make sure no pesky mice are trying to sneak into her turf. Then she has to patrol the house from her lookout spot to make sure things are running smoothly.
Don't worry, she takes plenty of breaks during that daunting list of duties.
For some reason, the smallest hooman won't let Marshmallow get rid of the rat in her room, but at least she keeps it contained. Marshmallow can be bribed to slack on her mouse slaying duties with plenty of treats.
Her hooman's doppleganger loves telling Marshmallow all about her day, her life, her friends. She also mentions something called a "horse" a lot? Who knows what that is, but Marshmallow appreciates the attention nonetheless.
When the redheaded hooman arrived, he was bigger than the other small hoomans that arrived. Surely that must mean he's the most powerful.
After all, he's able to shoot lasers out of his hand! Marshmallow's going to get that little sucker one of these days, she just knows it!
This hooman in particular takes such good care of Marshmallow's beautiful fur, brushing it every day. It really helps cut down on the hairballs, so Marshmallow appreciates her noble servant.
All in all, Marshmallow has had another amazing day. She's really tired by the time her hooman sets her down in her bed for the night. More tired than she thinks she's ever been.
You'd think it'd be hard for Marshmallow to sleep with that bright light, but it's actually really comforting. Like she could sleep forever…
When Marshmallow wakes up, she slowly realizes her soft bed has been replaced with warm sand. Seagulls squawk overhead, and the sound of water ebbing and flowing makes her ears perk. Marshmallow has never seen a place like this. Where is she?
As Marshmallow stirs awake, she hears someone approaching her. She lets out a big stretch, surprised that it doesn't hurt anymore. Then, she hears a voice she hasn't heard in a while.
Eve: Hello there, little one. Looks like your time to cross the rainbow bridge finally came.
Even though she's a lot younger than she was when Marshmallow met her, she recognizes this hooman. Her hooman always called her 'Gran', whatever that means.
Eve: Don't worry, girl. Walt and I are gonna take real good care of you here. Thanks for looking out for our Fifi.
Eve: We'll take lots of naps in the sun, and you can eat all the fish your little heart desires.
Marshmallow: it's what i deserve
Eve: It absolutely is.
Marshmallow: shit, hoomans can understand me here????
She's gonna have to be a lot less sassy in her internal dialogue.
Welcome to the Forever Save, Marshmallow.
Thank you for sticking with Ophelia through everything.

Everything's coming up Lulu!
Not only is today her birthday, but with a lot of hard work, and a lot of help from Gemma, she's turned in her make-up work and bumped her grades up to a B. Now she can try out for the cheerleading team when she ages up!
After a quick shower, Ophelia gets to work on Lulu's birthday cake, along with some of her favorite foods, finishing just in time for the kids to get home.
Ophelia: I'm assuming you don't want to wait until after dinner?
Lulu: No way!
Teen years, here she comes!
Lulu makes a beeline for her, cake, but Xander is quick to snatch her up for one more bear hug before his little girl ages up.
Lulu: Daaaad!
Xander: Alright, alright, go ahead.
Hoople Borfna, Lulu Lemon!
This self-absorbed drama llama is ready to break some hearts! Boys of Copperdale High, look out for Lulu.
Unbeknownst to her, at least she doesn't have to worry about her older sister snagging any guy she ends up crushing on. Her brother, on the other hand…
Jaden gives his sister a hug before confirming she's sure she doesn't mind him going to that concert tonight.
Lulu: I'm gonna be redecorating my room, I won't even notice you're gone.
RIP Ophelia's royalty checks.
Jaden: Okay, time to get ready then!
Xander: Have fun, kiddo.
The concert's amazing, to say the least. The Rabbithole always has the best shows, so no doubt there. The duo walks to the nearby Totter Park afterwards.
Jaden: That finale was so swag!
Marina, charmed by Jaden's cringey enthusiasm, tries not to show her nerves.
Marina: Totes.
They take a walk through the abandoned park, the crisp autumn night chilling them as they idly chat. Marina feels safe around Jaden. She knows she's weird, and her dad's reputation doesn't help her popularity, but Jaden likes her for who she is.
She knows he likes her back.
Jaden takes a look at the stars through the telescope and rambles about the constellations he learned about during his years as a scout. Marina finds a way to make this a two person activity.
Marina: Why don't you show them to me? I need to learn now that I live in the country.
Marina and Jaden settle on the ground so Jaden can tell her all about the stars he can spot. She's really not paying attention, too focused on the fact that she's laying down next to a boy.
This is her moment. Jaden's too sweet to make the first move, so she'll do it herself.
Marina: Wow. We never saw stars like this in the city.
Jaden: Yeah, I bet.
She scoots closer to him, her heart practically jumping out of her chest as she says what she's been wanting to say for weeks.
Marina: Y'know, I really like you, Jaden.
Jaden: Yeah, I like you too!
Marina: No, I mean I, like, like-like you.
Jaden: You like-like-like-
That was too many 'likes', Jaden's not following.
Marina: I don't want to just be your friend anymore.
Jaden: I mean, you're already one of my best friends.
Surely that's what she meant, right?
Marina: I'm really gonna have to spell it out for you, aren't I?
Jaden: Apparently.
It's only when she leans in, lips puckered, that things click into place for Jaden.
Jaden: Marina, wha-what are you- stop!
Marina pulls away like she just touched a piping hot oven.
Marina: Oh, I… I'm sorry, I just thought… I mean… This is a date, I-
She hesitates, something dawning on her.
Marina: This is a date, right?
Jaden: I… I just thought we were just going to a concert.
Marina flies up from her seat, her embarrassment fizzling into anger.
Marina: You can't seriously be that dense, Jaden Lemon! I LIKE YOU! I haven't exactly been subtle!
Jaden: I-I'm sorry- I didn't-
Marina: Did you think all the flirty moodlets were from the cafeteria food?
Marina: I… I really thought you liked me. What's so wrong with me that you didn't even consider me as an option?!
Jaden: Nothing's wrong with you! I just… I…
Marina's one of his favorite people. It would be so easy to like her back, but he just… can't.
A flurry of emotions, Marina's rage subsides into sadness and humiliation.
Marina: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled, I… after everything with my dad, when the world turned its back on us, you still accepted me. I guess I was dumb to think you could love me, baggage and all.
Jaden: Marina, of course I love you, I just… I can't LOVE you the way you want me to.
After that slips out, Jaden realizes that might not have been the right wording, as big, fat tears pool in Marina's eyes.
Marina: I get it. I wouldn't want to love me, either. Bye, Jaden.
As he watches Marina run off crying, Jaden wants to run after her, but he just… can't.
He'd never even considered Marina liked him that way. He thinks the world of her, he hates that he hurt her…
…But it looks like his questioning led to an answer.

The perfectionist she is, Gemma needs to have everything just right when she comes out. She knows her parents are accepting, so of course they'll still love and support her, but coming out is a big change. She needs this to be a perfect moment!
Gemma: Mom, Dad, Webster's Dictionary defines 'lesbian' as- No, that's lame!
Maybe she should go for a more light-hearted approach.
Gemma: Hetero? I hardly know her-o! Ugh, that joke sucks!
idk I thought it was pretty clever
Gemma: Come on, girly, you've got this. Rhys taught you lots of ways to stay calm. You've just got to look Mom and Dad in the eyes and tell them-
Jaden: What, that you're talking to yourself? I thought that was Wren's thing.
Dang it, Gemma didn't even hear him come in!
Gemma: Uh, knock much?
Jaden: You know you can't knock on bedroom doors, it's impossible. I wanted to make sure you haven't gone crazy, I could hear you babbling from my room.
Gemma: Did you… hear anything specific?
Jaden: No. Why?
Gemma: I, uh…
Gemma: Well, I want to tell Mom and Dad something… It's not bad, I'm just kind of nervous.
Jaden: You could always practice on me!
That's actually a good idea. Jaden's been her ride or die since they were toddlers, and there's no one she trusts more with this part of herself.
The siblings settle down on Gemma's bed.
Jaden: Okay, do you want me to pretend to be Mom or Dad? I'm pretty good at impersonating Mom but I'd need a second to put some Kijiko lashes on.
Gemma: Actually… I want to tell Jaden.
Jaden: Oh… okay. I'm listening.
Gemma: So, I've always felt a little… different than other girls. Not in a pick-me way, just that they'd talk about crushes on boys and I just… never understood it. I thought I was just a late bloomer or something, but then something clicked when we went to Mal's party.
Jaden nods along.
Gemma: I ended up kissing a girl, and I liked it. Like, really liked it. I've been thinking about it a lot, and I realized I… don't like guys at all. I'm a lesbian.
She hasn't admitted that out loud, but she breathes a sigh of relief when she does.
She doesn't know if she should say something else to conclude this confession.
Gemma: Uh… tada?
That probably wasn't the most poetic choice. She really wishes Jaden would be the one to say the words now, but luckily he does.
Ignoring the 'tada', Jaden jumps right into supportive bestie mode.
Jaden: I'm really glad you told me, Gem. I'll support you no matter what. I love you, sis.
He means every word. He'd support anything that would make his honorary twin happy.
Coming out to her favorite Sim in the world really makes Gemma feel lighter. It's not like it's some shameful secret but it can be vulnerable to talk about this stuff. Gemma feels much more prepared for when the time comes.
Gemma: You're the best. I love you too, Jay.
Jaden's so proud of his sister, he really is.
If she can figure this out about herself, surely he can figure his own situation out, right?

Greta and Chloe invite Gemma out to Evergreen Harbor's local community center to catch up and see their wild kiddos. While she loves seeing Oscar and Bree, her big cousin Greta is just the Sim she needs to talk to.
Gemma: Look at you two, you're getting so big!
Bree: Play!
Gemma: Ooh, in a sec, Bumble Bree. I'm gonna catch up with your Mommy first.
Don't worry, Mama Chloe is the perfect playmate!
The cousins start a game of Simbles while they chat.
Greta: So how's Copperdale High?
Gemma: Glitchy.
Greta: Ah, I see not much has changed then.
Gemma: How have you been?
Greta: Tired. These kids are little monsters, but I wouldn't have it any other way… Well, I'd prefer Bree picked out less… vibrant outfits, but we'll always let her embrace her true self.
Yeah… Her true self…
The master of getting info from people, Gemma brings up a new topic.
Gemma: So… How did you know you were a lesbian?
Smooth.
Greta: Uh… why?
Gemma: My, uh, friend might be gay.
Greta knows a baby gay when she sees one, but she's not about to out Gemma if she's not ready.
Greta: Suuuuure. I guess I realized I never really had crushes on boys, even as a teen. And then I made out with Morgan Fyres under the bleachers in the gym. Biiiiig hint.
Morgan got knocked up by that capitalist pig Malcolm Landgraab shortly after but oh well. Chloe's better.
Gemma: Wow, that's… interesting. Did you, uh, happen to take a lot of Are You Gay quizzes on PlumFeed?
Greta: Uh, I think if you're taking an "Are You Gay?" quiz, you already know the answer.
Gemma: Oh. Thanks, I'll let my… my friend know.
Gemma: Do you, uh, have any advice for m-my friend?
Greta: Well, accepting who you are is important, but it's not a contest. They can come out when they're ready.
While intolerant Sims like Jaden's birth father are a minority in this save, coming out can still be scary.
Greta: If I hadn't embraced who I was and who and what I love, I never would have moved to Evergreen Harbor to pursue my juice fizzing dreams. I would have never met Chloe. I wouldn't have Oscar and Bree. Finding your people can be scary, but it's always worth it.
Greta: If this 'friend' ever has any questions, or needs someone to talk to, tell them I'm always here for yo- them.
Gemma: Yeah, thank you. I-They will appreciate that.
Greta nods. She'll come out when she's ready to. No need to rush.
Greta knows that her cousin is surrounded by the most supportive Sims out there. She's going to be just fine.
She always kind of suspected Gemma would be part of the Alphabet Mafia. Don't even get her started on Jaden, but that's a story for another day.
They join the rest of the Springstons by the splash pad, jumping and stomping in the cool water without a care in the world.
Greta sees the life her cousin has built for herself and knows deep down, this is what she wants someday. A girlfriend… A wife… and their own family.
