wow what a lovely and completely spontaneous ask from my good friend helen all-pacas!!!

so my two answers are:

s4: cameron and chase do actually move to arizona together about halfway through the season (let’s MASSIVELY suspend disbelief for a moment and imagine cameron would ever allow this to happen at this point in their relationship). no hard feelings, it’s a promotion for cameron and chase is happy to follow her. house still throws a shitfit but what can you do. this is the ultimate good ending: no dibala, no pesky house meddling, they keep their added communication skills i sprinkled into my failmarriage inclusive fixit, they live happy-ish ever after. it is boring and i cheer.

s5/6: now THIS is the one i’m thinking of writing a fic about. babytrap but like it’s not. cameron falls pregnant over the honeymoon, s6 plays out but chase begs to be removed from the dibala case because hormonal cameron is scary and he thinks she might fr commit murder (duh she won’t, it’s cameron, but his fear is real). in this version they stay at ppth but go back to their respective departments after house wheedles thirteen and taub back. another mostly good ending. evil dark version of this: cameron is pregnant and chase kills dibala anyway, but fesses up almost immediately—well before house finds out—and they move to chicago without telling anyone. happy in the sense they stay together but um not in any other respect lol. the canon problems continue to lurk in the background but by this point they’re new parents so they blame their relationship problems on that.

unsurprisingly the second version of this is my fave because i <3 mess (i need a shirt with that phrase on at this point), and if i wrote the s5/6 fic it’d probably be the second edition but with a slightly happier ending. but THAT is how i fix the failmarriage and keep them together :-) and they said it couldn’t be done!!!!
