This Week in BL - We In A Slump, but help might be coming from a very strange source
Organized, in each category, with ones I'm enjoying most at the top.
Sept 2024 Week 4
Ongoing Series - Thai
Jack & Joker (Thai Mon IQIYI) ep 3 of 12 - I don’t have a lot to say except that the plot is somewhat predictable but the show is still very engaging. War is fantastic. I’m enjoying it a hell of a lot.
Monster Next Door (Thai Thurs Gaga ) ep 10 of 12 - The second leads are getting better in this one. I understand where they are coming from, which makes their conflict so much more understandably painful, and honest to a friends2lovers trope. The main couple is kinda standard college relationship drama, but they are cuties.
Kidnap (Fri YT) ep 4 of 12 - How is Ohm so damn gorgeous? Meanwhile, babies’ first argument. And it’s sponge bath time. Q has got to be wondering if Min is as meticulous with all kinds of care and attention to detail all......the......time. Somebody here in the hellhole said something about this being "the most BL to ever BL." And I think they’re right. At least right now. Although, watch out, we got us a new contender from the east.
I Saw You in My Dream (Weds Gaga) ep 11 of 12 - I do love the continuation of the perversion, in a good way, of the punishment trope from last week's episode. Oh, has the show finally remembered its title? NO SINGING.
Addicted Heroin (Thai Tues WeTV) ep 7 of 10 - More kidnapping and an attack and now there’s a girl involved and somebody’s going to China and I don’t understand anything! And I don’t really care. Is this how the actual book originally went? Because it’s wild. Also TOO MANY of flashbacks. I guess they got a bit of a boyfriend era, and the claiming during the water fight was cute, but otherwise...... meh
Love Sick 2024 (Thai Sun iQIYI) ep 2 of 15 - One shouldn’t make comparisons, of course, but all I can think about is how amazing Captain was as Noh in the original series. Thus this show is mostly just making me want to rewatch the original. It’d be an interesting twist to have Aim be queer instead of a damaged cool girl slut. Was the helmet hand letting go a foreshadow of the iconic bookstore hands letting go? Also, I gotta say for the second episode of a series there are already too many flashbacks. Why are they using filler when they have so much content crammed into so few (comparable) episodes for a series? It’s annoying. Stop it.
Live in Love (Sun Gaga) ep 4 of 5 - This show has some interesting, if heavy handed, things to say about shipping and trolling, but also predatory/proprietary female behavior. It’s fascinating to see it tackled head on, if handled in a profoundly clumsy manner. I’m not sure how I feel about it. That said, most of this episode was actually an advertisement for a resort in Phuket.
Bad Guy My Boss (Thai Sun Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - I'm getting What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? vibes from this show. Only this is WAY more bullying. It’s very old-fashioned 90’s billionaire romance novel only gay. It’s never a good sign when I’m watching two boys kiss and I really want one of them to just bite the other ones lip off instead.
Battle of the Writers (Sun YT) ep 9 of 12 - No ep this week.
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
Sugar Dog Life (Japan Sun grey) ep 8 of 10 - Gosh it’s so frikin adorable. Baby got sick. He has SUCH A CRUSH. And such a courageous little confession! Yay! Can’t wait for next week.
Teenager Judge (Vietnam Sat YouTube) ep 1 - sure, yes this is, in fact, just Ba Vinh doing his thing with pretty boys again. And yet...... There is a REASON this leapt into the standings guns blazing. So it’s high school set but it's stepbrothers trope. (My, aren’t we popular this year?) I know, but I NEVER get tired of this trope. We got us Bach (BV's sullen tsundere) and Dat (babygirl meets bully). It’s GREAT how the brothers' dynamic is entirely different at school than when they're at home. My ear isn’t trained for Vietnamese, but I think Dat is using different pronouns depending on his location (his personality entirely shifts when he’s at school). I’m not sold on the Bach character, although I always trust BV to serve in the end (at least we know the kisses will be good), but Dat is utterly in love, a touch spicy, and reasonably complex. The surrounding cast is good too, my favorite pretty boy is there playing top dog (woof), and one of the besties is out gay (YAY!). The plot of the show is...... well...... absent. Nothing happened. But if we are aiming for Love Sick slice of life style BL, I'm game. Subs are appropriately terrible and confusing. But I like it A FUCK TON so far, so I’m gonna keep it in rotation. Nice to have Vietnam back in play. What a shocker.
2024 has been a year of upsets.
Love is Like a Poison AKA Doku Koi: Doku mo Sugireba Koi to Naru (Japan Tues Netflix?) 3 of 10 eps - I weirdly enjoyed the farcical music and the utter absurdity of the court case. I also liked how it highlighted what a good team these two are. Frankly I don’t mind a bit of an antihero sleazy lawyer + conman, it's engaging. I’m getting wholesome out of Thailand. I don’t really need it from Japan at the moment. Also I don’t believe for one second our conman actually is serious about the relationship. Conmen gonna con. I'm reminded of the scorpion and the frog fable.
First Note Of Love (Taiwan Mon Gaga) ep 8 of 12 - I love Orca so much. I do not love the autotuned version of Orca, but I knew what I was in for with this particular show, it's in the title after all. I did laugh a whole lot when Laing used kha. Hon, I don't think that word means what you think it means......
The On1y One (Taiwan Thurs Gaga) eps 11-12fin - I never thought I’d say this, but the pacing was off in the penultimate episode. Taiwan, and its chronic misuse of flashbacks strikes again. That said we eventually got a "lock in" trope and Wang being the biggest little flirt shit in the cafe OMG!!! Of course, you shouldn’t use a girl to torment your bf, but it was so well done, I can’t really complain. Meanwhile, teacher kisses. And now I understand exactly why they’re present in this narrative. Clever. Bummer of a burden on that ending though. I cannot see how they’ll manage to stick this landing. [That was ep 11]
AND NOW EP 12 - doomey doomey doom
Not the water bottle trope! Argh the teenage lust of it all. Just stop it. Wang is so smart he knows exactly how bad he has to be to leave the class. And his bf certainly knows that too. And......
......
So that was not an ending and I’m not happy about it and no one is surprised. Even I’m not surprised. I’m just disappointed. Even tho I suspected this was where we were headed I'm disappointed. That’s it. That’s all I got. How do I review something that was such a crushing let down?
Conclusion:
Based on a Mou Mou novel + the Your Name Engraved Herein team, this is old-school coming of age BL and it was bloody fantastic. Tsundere seme to beat all tsundere (smartest + tallest + bestest at everything but people) meets socially-ept cutie smart-ass uke. They're living together by end of ep 1 and start kissing by end of ep 2. A stellar tense slow burn stepbrothers trope that ate my life and than just belly-flopped the finale. What I'm left with is epic levels of disappointment and well...... at least nobody died? My standard "fatally flawed" rating for any BL is 4/10 so I guess that’s what I’m giving it.
Before you ask me for the stats: Taiwan does not have a history of second seasons. I went ahead and ran the numbers and the odds are certainly not in our favor. I put the chances at 2%.
Yes, I contemplated a revenge rating of 2/10 but even I'm not that mean.
It's airing but...
The Hidden Moon (Sat WeTV) ep 1 of 10 - This is a supernatural romance (my ghost boyfriend trope) by Violet Rain (I Feel You Linger). A man is hired to write an article about an old mansion in Chiang Mai being converted into a café. He sees the ghosts of people who died at the mansion, falls in love with one of them. Was substantially recast. I loved IFYLITA except the ending so I think I'll let this one run it's course you can tell me if it's work tracking down... if they managed to land it. I have my doubts.
In Case You Missed It
Falling For My Boss is vertical format (nash) short from Korean BL about a happy-go-unlucky man who keeps losing his flower shop business because of romantically misbehaving employees (apparently it's a thing). When his best employee brings in a new boy he's worried she's falling for him, but it turns out it's his own heart on the line. He a clueless softy and The Boy is a lost broken sweetheart, making this a gentle little snippet of a show. There's a baby linguistic negotiation, some hung slinging, awkward handholds, and everyone is very pretty. For me the absence of kisses and the vertical format were more annoying than the length, which felt fine but many viewers will find too short. I enjoyed the 30 minutes of cute. All of which makes this a solid 7/10 from me. It was originally only available on this one ap in very short form with ads so I wasn't gonna bother. Then some kind soul cut it together without ads and stuck it up for download. Say thank you.
Oddball recommendation next: This podcast episode touches on some stuff we see in Thai BL so I think it's worth listening to. Journalist Dominic Faulder on the Complex History Between Thailand & Myanmar
Happy of the End (Japan Gaga) - Completed its run. A boy is disowned for being gay, dumped by his boyfriend, and ends up in a dysfunctional co-dependant relationship with his would-be kidnapper. We were due for another messy JBL and it's exactly as expected. I do not like it at all and DNFed. Gossip round the hellhole is that was a solid decision.
Marriage Equality Law has officially been enacted in Thailand...
Yes the actual law. Goes into effect Jan 22, 2025
Next Week Looks Like This:
Upcoming BLs for 2024 are listed here. This list is not kept updated, so please leave a comment if you know something new or RP with additions.
Coming Oct 2024:
10/3 Fourever You (Thai iQIYI?) 16 eps - New directs Earth (UWMA, 12%) + Pond (Century of Love, 180 Degrees), Bas (Gen Y, 2 Moons) + Maxky (Why You… Y Me?) and other familiar faces like Bever. Sampler pack university BL from Wabi Sabi that looks like it's trying to be a gay Boys Over Flowers (4 older med students hot boys) and I'm not mad about it. Trailer Not sure who's distributing this but my guess is iQIYI since they had the last few from this house.
10/7 Every You Every Me (Thai Gaga) 10 eps - Jade and Chin have lived over a thousand lifetimes. In each one they somehow manage to fall in love with each other. (This pair, TopMick was piloted in a My Universe ep, that was one of the only ones I liked.)
10/10 Eccentric Romance (Korea ????) 12 eps - Silkwood’s 2nd Thai/Korean colab, that has been in production since 2022 which is a LONG time in the BL world. I'm worried but I like the concept: friends of 10 years who’ve been hiding feelings for each other enter the same university. Plus MURDER.
10/10 Gangster and His Boyfriend (Korea ????) 8 eps? - Kim Dong Bin (famous trainee & idol reality competitor, yeah that happens) stars as a fallen idol who unexpectedly becomes entangled in a gangster family. Discovers that his friend’s father is responsible for the murder of his entire family years ago. I don't know much about this one, neither does anyone else and I'm not sure where I got that release date so……
10/21 Love in the Big City (Korea ????) 8 eps - Adaptation of Booker-nominated famous coming of age novel of the same title by Park Sang-Young. Cynical yet fun loving student writer Young pinballs from home, to class, to Tinder matches. He and Jaehee, his female besie and roommate, frequent nearby bars where they push away their worries about life, love, and money with soju. As time passes Jaehee settles down and leaves Young to face his problems on his own. Young finding comfort in the arms of the series of men, including one whose handsomeness is matched by his coldness and another who might be the great love of his life. Not really BL. Stars Kim Go-eun (The King: Eternal Monarch), Noh Sang-hyun, and Nam Yoon Su (The King’s Affection). This already released as a movie and isn't very well regarded, this date is supposedly an international release as a series. I'm wary of it being BL.
THIS WEEK’S BEST MOMENTS
I got nothing, The On1y One drove me into a funk.
(Last week)
Streaming services are listed by how I (usually) watch, which is with a USA based IP, and often offset by a day because time zones are a pain.
The tag BLigade: @doorajar @solitaryandwandering @my-rose-tinted-glasses @babymbbatinygirl @babymbbatinygirl @isisanna-blog @mmastertheone @pickletrip @aliceisathome @urikawa-miyuki @tokillamonger @sunflower-positiiivity @rocketturtle4 @blglplus @anythinggoesintheshire @everlightly @renafire @mestizashinrin @bl-bam-beyond @small-dark-and-delicious @saezurumurmurs

Thoughts on The Penguin Series before watching it
I see some reviews coming out for the penguin series already, and from what i can tell they’re fairly positive and make me very excited!! but there’s still something a bit off to me and idk i just need to yell it into the void
For context i really liked The Batman! it was a great film, it def brought some hope back to DC films, i enjoyed the interpretations of the characters, and i’m super excited for the next film!! Also for the Penguin, I haven’t seen much promo since the trailer when it first came out. I know DC on instagram has been pushing a few other teasers and sneak peaks but i haven’t watched any of them.
I’m saying all that because ik the Penguin is in capable hands and that there is a very slim chance i’m going to finish the penguin and be disappointed-i’m sure its going to turn out great but rn the premise for it seems kinda…boring??
Like The Penguin starring in a mob drama à-la The Sopranos or The Godfather-great things to take inspiration from! but also seems very basic to me?? like it seems like the safest most basic option for a penguin centric show, which has me feeling kinda disappointed
And my issue is that a mob drama Penguin show could be really cool and interesting!! if the show was willing to include more fantastical elements!! A lot of other mob dramas are grounded and based in the real world but how cool would it be to see someone try to do that surrounded by other villains? a (For the most part) regular guy like Oswald trying to build his empire when people around him have powers and out of this world gadgets? Trying to act somewhat civil with gangs who follow a costumed villain with weird looking goons! Treating all of that with the same seriousness as a typical mob drama cause that’s just the city Oswald lives in but he’s gonna do whatever it takes to make it his and get the respect he deserves!!
But Reeves has already discussed the possibility of fantastical stuff within his version of the batman, and from my understanding, it’s meant to be very “grounded” which…like i said i trust the people behind this version of the batman i know they can make great things!! i just wish we got more “Fantastical” batman stories, and just from what we’ve seen, the penguin series has me feeling a bit meh cause it seems kinda bland on paper, and i fear it’ll be kinda basic, so it’s definitely a case of i’m gonna have to see it to see if it’s any good (and i’m pretty sure it’s gonna be great)
Also side tangent on Oswald’s appearance below
hey so when i said i liked the interpretations in The Batman I lied. Oswald character wise is fine!! His attitude, Colin Farrell’s performance, all great!! what i take issue though is with his appearance, and this falls back into the issue of doing “grounded” batman stories
Oswald, at least physically, shouldn’t really look realistic. Yeah short, fat people with pointy noses exist, but for Penguin it has to be hella exaggerated and you need to take into consideration other bird or penguin-like features, and that’s why Farrell’s prosthetics don’t really do it for me (also i saw that thing where he complained about his prosthetics)
Again, I really enjoyed his performance in The Batman, and I’m sure he’s gonna do great in The Penguin, but they used all of the prosthetics to just make Farrell look like another person who probably already exists out there. They didn’t really do anything interesting with it, nothing to make him particularly “ugly” which to me, is important to his character, when you consider how Oswald wants to be accepted by “high society” a group that especially cares about appearance, especially in Gotham.
That’s just in the face, and when it comes to his body I do not like it. The way they made his body Farrell doesn’t even look fat?? Especially with his height he looks more built than anything (google says he’s 5’10”? far from short) It leads to him looking intimidating, which he shouldn’t be, at least physically. The Penguin isn’t scary because of how he looks, he’s scary cause he’s The Penguin. Without his title, his power, his reputation, he should look like someone even a pretty regular person could take in a fight (ik there are interpretations where Oswald is a trained fighter!! but i’m meh on them i don’t mind if they make him a fighter i just prefer it when he isn’t). Farrell’s Penguin just doesn’t really have that “pathetic-ness” i feel most Oswald’s should have, at least with his appearance
TLDR- my hopes for the Penguin are both extremely high and extremely low at the same time-also if ur gonna do prosthetics do something interesting, and bring back short, fat, and “ugly” Oswalds

Remember this is only my opinion you can disagree;]
I don’t know if anyone will agree but, I hate the yaoi fanart of Hannigram and Lacho. As a guy who is actively involved in the Hannibal and Better Call Saul / Breaking Bad fandoms, I am really not comfortable with these types of art. The characters aren’t ruined but it seems as if people miss completely the point of the shows.
Lacho is just… meh and shouldn’t be a ship. Like BRO THEY HAVE NO CHEMISTRY (in my opinion) and I know it’s hard to say, but Nacho Varga and Lalo Salamanca are straight men… who deal drugs and are just cool criminals. I get that there’s not a lot of people you can ship in this fandom, but these are just cool characters and y’all are ruining them with your horny bullshit.
Edit: I removed the lacho tag, you can stop commenting about me being rude. Damn y’all like to attack people who don’t have the same opinion as you.
Hannigram is a ship and it’s a very cool one! I like it, but when it’s done correctly:
There’s 3 whole seasons cooking this delicious soup of nuanced interest between Hannibal and Will. I love this series, especially as an asexual, because it shows sexual intimacy in a much more complex way and from a completely different perspective. At least, it is different from how we usually see it in media.
This intimacy is here to make us observe, these people; them and only them, in the rawest selves, between each other. That’s why it is so important. NBC Hannibal shows different characters in these moments, adding music and interesting visuals; they play with colours and sounds of fungus. Every scene is just so cool to watch and not as awkward as it usually is. I like how it looks like, people are merging in one. Sex scenes, like Alana with Hannibal and Margo with Will’s intimate shots, can also portray something that is happening subconsciously outside the very scene, disassociated from the moment.
(Hannibal spoilers season 3, 13 episode!!!)
Now, the coolest thing is that the relationship between the murder husbands doesn’t need sex. In my opinion, it’s purely intellectual! When it get’s physical its because they’re both killing the dragon. That was their intimate connection, the first time truly being with each other, not divided by two sides. They are one, together versus the dragon. After that, Will sees Hannibal; by that I mean that he sees his whole nature, and he can’t go back. His family is an illusion of something normal, but Will has reached something greater. After feeling Hannibal’s way of viewing the world he feels that he belongs. Of course, after realising that he is now with Lecter; that they are not understood by the world they exist in, both of them need to become even greater than their actual form. They had to die because their love is spiritual. By transcending into a bodyless form.
Hannibal, for me is the sanest character, he is always fine. The only moment when he’s not alright, is when Will “betrays him”. In Florence, Dr. Lecter is reckless, he kills a lot more than he needs to. He sees people, who he consumes, as pigs. It doesn’t feel bad killing them, because they’re just little animals walking around. He of course enjoys their company, humans can be befriended and he spends time with them with pleasure. It is still possible to eat them, except Will. Lecter, after Grahams betrayal, doesn’t trust him anymore. He does not want to show his true self to him anymore. Hannibal regrets opening up after he truly thought that he could be understood. So, Dr. Lecter convinces himself that Will is also just some meat. Yet again, seeing Will, after Florence, being on the same side, when they’re both confronted by Mason, Hannibal sees Will as a partner. A partner in a love crime.
SO NOW PLEASE FUCK OFF WITH YOUR PENCIL DRAWING OF NBC CHARACTERS FUCKING EACH OTHER /ref (welcome to the internet by Bo Burnham)
P.S. I realy like cute mini comics those are cool and funny keep doing them 💪
Again only my opinion, you can disagree, I literally don’t care. I would like to know your opinion actually!

So, for day five of the event, I used number 44 from prompt 2 for the Misfit Class from Iruma-kun! I hope everyone enjoys the headcanons 😊
44. If you are of age, will you try to enter the Triwizard Tournament if they ever host one again?
I don’t think Iruma would really want to enter the Triwizard Tournament. In fact, he’s really against it. He doesn’t want to stand out and he thinks it would be more fun to watch the tournament with his friends or even to cheer one of his friends on that really do want to participate. However, because this is Iruma we’re talking about, I do see something happening where his name gets put in there without him knowing and someone tampers with the Cup enough (*cough* Sullivan *cough*) for Iruma’s name to get chosen.
Asmodeus definitely would want to enter the Tournament. To him, it’s a way to show his strength, bring honor to his family name and to impress and bring honor to Iruma. He puts his name in proudly and he’s one of the students that most are certain would be likely to be chosen by the Cup.
Clara sees the whole Tournament as a really fun game, honestly. She really doesn’t get it beyond that and with that in her mind, of course she’d want to enter!
Sabnock is another one that would love to enter. To him, it’s his shot to show how cool, manly, and awesome he is. He puts his name in while bragging about how there’s no possibility the cup would choose anyone but him and honestly, to say he really wants to be chosen is an understatement.
I think Gaap goes in between wanting to enter and wanting to watch the Tournament. He thinks it would be really interesting to participate in the tournament and see how strong he is, but especially would love to participate in order to make friends with those from other schools. However, he is a little worried he wouldn’t be strong enough to win and would bring dishonor upon not only his House but Hogwarts as a whole.
Lied and Jazz talk about how fun participating in the tournament would be, how they could definitely win, how cool it would be to have all the other students practically worshipping them, but neither of them ever really gets up the courage to actually put their name in.
Both Agares and Allocer wouldn’t even consider putting their names in. For Agares, it’s just too much work and too much trouble. He’d rather just relax and take it easy. For Allocer, he’s already doing a class more than the others, maintaining his status as top of his year, and the tournament would only get in the way of his schoolwork. He’ll go and watch the Tournament with his friends but that’s about the extent of it, though he really does hope the winner is not only from Hogwarts, but from his House.
Purson puts in his name, but nobody notices, and he doesn’t get chosen. He wasn’t expecting his name to get chosen anyway, so he’s not disappointed when it doesn’t. He mostly just did it for the experience.
Caim and Elizabetta never even considered putting their names in but they’re both loudly supportive of the Hogwarts champion and are very invested in the tournament right from the time it’s announced.
Kerori really just doesn’t care about the Tournament. It’s not her kind of thing, she’s just not that interested in it. If a friend of hers ends up as the Hogwarts champion, she’ll support them but otherwise, she’s just kind of meh about the whole subject.

Finished Rise of the Pink Ladies...
Random Thoughts in Yays and Boos and Wuts and Mehs
Yay: Hazel’s a Pink Lady. Great way to end the season. Great pay off.
Boo: That whole wedding story line. It was unnecessary and dumb.
Wut?: Jonathan Nieves leaving and being photoshopped into scenes.
Yay: Setup for a second season with the other schools and Zuko’s big brother (I guess?). But please, please, please stop with Jane and her love life - I cannot find the will to care.
Boo/Yay/I Can’t Decide: Nancy’s treatment of Potato was not cool. Female empowerment isn’t disregarding your partner’s feelings and doing what only you want because I am woman hear me roar. That’s what gets me about some feminist media - the whole my way or the highway of it all. Compromise isn’t a dirty word - it’s called not being a jerkface and being a part of a healthy relationship (as long as it’s not one partner doing all the compromising). I know Nancy marches to the beat of her own drum and Potato clearly appreciates that but she was putting SO many stipulations on their relationship and really being inconsiderate of him a lot. I’m very happy about her owning up to that but I didn’t really like how she was going to end things with him at the carnival without discussing how they might make it work. She came off as very selfish in her behavior and inconsiderate of his feelings. In the end, they’re still my favorite couple and I’m glad they worked things out but I hope we get to see her play a more emotionally supportive role to him in the future like she did with Cynthia.
Yay (Kind Of): When I first saw the play scene from Hazel’s POV with Buddy dipping out, I thought he was jealous of her getting the limelight. But then we got episode 7 from the boys’ POV and you saw that Buddy was just reeling from his daddy drama. I was glad he wasn’t being petty. He was just hurt.
Meh: Wally and Hazel are kind of cute, but I’m a not so secret shipper of her and Buddy. I don’t like love triangles (which this show seems to be a fan of) so I hope if we get a second season that this issue gets resolved fast.
Meh: Gil is a cutie, but I am not feeling any of the girls he’s been paired with thus far. I don’t really like him and Olivia together.
Wut?: Who does Dot like? They teased it but never told us.
Boo: Where’s the sizzle? Please get Shonda Rhimes to this show stat to create some chemistry between these people. For so many romantic relationships, none of them bring the heat. Everyone’s different, but for me, for a show to be fully satisfying, I have to have a couple that I ship. That I can’t wait to see kiss and see those moments of being in love. It’s why I adored Queen Charlotte and Jackson/April on Grey’s or Andy/April on Parks and Rec.
Boo: This show reminds me a little bit of Girls in the fact that the male characters are more intriguing than the women. Ray and Adam were more interesting/likable than the main characters. I feel like it’s similar for this show. Potato and Shy Guy in particular I want to know more about. I love the women as a whole group and their times together, but individually...I’m getting less and less interested especially with Jane and Olivia who’ve kind of become one note. Nancy (and Cynthia to an extent), I feel like is the only character who’s really grown. I feel like she embodies adolescence the best in regards to not knowing what you want but slowly figuring things out and maturing. I’ve really enjoyed her journey (just be sweeter to Potato, please and thank you).
Wut?: So is this show getting a second season or not? 10/10 would watch.

Hi just wanted to say that I really like your cold dracula takes and they made me realize how much of an echo chamber the DD fandom is. Like, I was already aware that there was a predilectoin for a specific set of interpretations of the story and certain headcanons that were trated as seriously as canon, but I always took it as 'lol these people are so funny, tho i'm sure that deep inside they all got a critical opinion of the book and its inherent bigotry that we're knowingly setting aside for internet funsies' but damn your posts have made me reflect on that, maybe not everyone is that critical (and that makes me realize that I myself am not as critical as I thought I was, seeing how easily influenced I can be). And tbf it was a relief to read your opinions because at times I fear I might not be paying close attention to the book because of how insistent some people are on certain readings and it's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks some fans make a lot of things up.
Like for example helward shippers will talk about how seward and van helsing 'treat each other as equals' but john never calls van helsing his friend, it's always 'professor'. I mean I do love that ship for self indulgent reasons but it's not as canon nor healthy as most people make it out to be, and sometimes I wonder if it's me being bad at finding queer subtext or people being exagerate. And it felt validating to see you speaking against the ship (even if I personally enjoy it while at the same time knowing I'd be creeped out in a situation like that irl).
Also I wasn't aware of how many bad renfield takes people have out there??? Like, everything I see about renfield is about how important it is not to ignore the psichiatric abuse he goes through, I guess I'm lucky to not have found any of the bad takes.
I hope this wall of text is not too annoying to you I just really wanted to let you know
(also your book sounds so cool I'd love reading it someday)
Thank you for the ask! I’m out of the fandom now, partially for echo chamber reasons. Also please take my cold takes with a grain of salt, because I wasn’t In A Good Mental Place TM when I was writing them.
With Helward I always wanted the fanon stuff to be a bit darker because they’re both, you know, them. There was one nice fic where they roleplay an autopsy that was just fucked up enough, but other than that it’s pretty meh. Also I wouldn’t feel too upset about not picking up on the fandom-approved queer subtext. Usually it’s less of a subtext and more of straight up hallucinating the things that aren't in the text. Even then it’s pretty much playing minesweeper because you have to hallucinate things in one specific way.
As for the bad Renfield takes, it used to be way worse in the first year. The consensus was: “Yeah, Renfield’s trauma is Bad, but it’s ignorable, since 97% of us never had the same experience with the psychiatric system. Let’s talk about Jonathan and Mina instead”.
The wall of text isn’t annoying, thanks for sending the ask! :D
The “I can’t believe it’s not 1977 Dracfield” book has like 6 chapters left out of 38 (Inshallah) and maybe I’ll actually translate it into English someday, when the fandom is dead and my paranoia stops biting me in the ass.

🖤 for cain?!
attractiveness:
repulsive / hideous / ugly / not attractive / unappealing / not unattractive / meh / no preference / ok / mildly attractive / nice looking / cute / adorable / attractive / pleasant on the eyes / good looking / hot / sexy / beautiful / gorgeous / hot damn / would tap that / perfect / godlike / holy fuck there are no words.
Let's be totally frank here (I know, I'm taking a break from being totally Hank), Cain is a silver fox, and Hank is someone who appreciates a mature individual not just because it makes relationships feel more equitable and manageable, but because he loves the little things like laughter lines and crow's feet and touches of grey. These are the little details that tell a person's story, and Hank appreciates every word when he looks at Cain.
personality:
grating / irritating / frustrating / boring / confusing at best / awkward / unreasonable / psychotic / disturbing / interesting / engaging / affectionate / aggressive / ambitious / anxious / artistic / bad tempered / bossy / charismatic / appealing / unappealing / creative / courageous / dependable / unreliable / unpredictable / predictable / devious / dim / extroverted / introverted / egotistical / gregarious / fabulous / impulsive / intelligent / sympathetic / talkative / up beat / peaceful / calming / badass / flexible.
At this point in his life, Hank appreciates someone who can make him slow down and take it easy, who matches his pace and convinces him it's okay to take a bit of a load off - and that's Cain. After some of the more recent traumas and brushes with death he's had, someone solid, reliable, normal, is honestly just really quite nice, and he would fight anyone who would ever call Cain boring. He enjoys their dinner interplay too much to ever find him boring.
how likely they would have sex with them:
not if they were the last person on earth and the world was ending / fuck no! / never / no way / not likely / not sure / indifferent / I’m asexual / maybe / probably / it depends / fairly likely / likely / yeah sure / yes / would tap that / hell yes / fuck yes! / wishing that could happen right now / as many times as possible / we are already having sex.
He's not the horndog he once was, but . . . Hank has eyes. He has an imagination - quite a good one, in fact - and he's rediscovered his ability to flirt. He's thought about it, for certain. He is not, however, someone to rush these things, and he's happy to keep it just flirting until he's sure that things are good - not just for Cain's benefit, but for his own. He wants to start making better, more reasonable decisions, even if they mean delayed gratification.
level of friendship:
never in a million years / worst of enemies / enemies / rivals / indifferent / neutral / acquaintance / friendly toward each other / casual friends / friends / good friends / best friends / fuck buddies / bosom buddies / practically the same person / would die for them / true friends / my only friend.
He's working on it! If Hank has his way, dinner will become a regular occurrence, and he's going to make sure that Cain knows he's not just sniffing around in search of a booty call, he wants to be his friend, someone who he can feel comfortable in confiding in, if that's someone he has room and want for in his life.
first impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
It's hard to make a bad first impression on Hank, you basically have to be actively committing a crime, and even then, he tends to be pretty lenient if he thinks you have a reason. Cain definitely did strike him as perhaps a little odd over text, but who doesn't when they're engaging with a complete stranger, right? Granted, he doesn't know about the other stuff that goes into it yet, but he's an accepting fella.
current impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
He trusted Cain with his financial advice, that's not something he just does - he got a vote of confidence from a friend, and he's definitely charmed by the other man. Just needs more time, more flirting, more chances to get to know him, before he can comfortably start doing scandalous things like squeezing his hand or saying he really likes him. :P

attractiveness:
repulsive / hideous / ugly / not attractive / unappealing / not unattractive / meh / no preference / ok / mildly attractive / nice looking / cute / adorable / attractive / pleasant on the eyes / good looking / hot / sexy / beautiful / gorgeous / hot damn / would tap that (...but really she just wouldn't describe it this way) / perfect / godlike / holy fuck there are no words.
“Well, being on time isn’t a quality I’ll factor into attractiveness,” she remarked dryly, before giving a grin. Sure, looks were a big part of attractiveness but you had to take everything into account. “He’s fun, he’s funny. He’s entertaining. I find it easy to speak to him, and he’s interesting. Nice hair. Looks good in the suit.”
personality:
grating / irritating (are some of his jokes bad? sure. but like dad joke bad)/ frustrating / boring / confusing at best / awkward / unreasonable / psychotic / disturbing / interesting / engaging / affectionate / aggressive (she wouldn't want to fight him of course) / ambitious / anxious / artistic / bad tempered / bossy / charismatic / appealing / unappealing / creative / courageous / dependable / unreliable / unpredictable (well, can't predict when he'll be late) / predictable / devious / dim / extroverted / introverted / egotistical / gregarious / fabulous / impulsive / intelligent / sympathetic / talkative / up beat / peaceful / calming / badass / flexible.
“Honestly, I sometimes have no idea what he’s going on about. And sometimes I don’t know what to make of his quips. Overall? I find it amusing. I like it. A lot. I mean I like him. He’s good - he’s smart and quick witted. He’s engaging, and gives as good as he gets. Reckless to a fault, too heroic if there’s such a thing. But that makes him who he is.” She couldn’t fault him for always trying to do his best now, could she?
how likely they would have sex with them:
not if they were the last person on earth and the world was ending / fuck no! / never / no way / not likely / not sure / indifferent / I’m asexual / maybe / probably / it depends / fairly likely / likely / yeah sure / yes / would tap that (again, wouldn't really say it this way) / hell yes / fuck yes! / wishing that could happen right now / as many times as possible / we are already having sex.
“I think he’s attractive, so yes. I would,” she replied simply, with maybe a little laughter in her tone. Not at him, just how easy it was to answer. “He’s good looking, he’s also fun and I trust him. I can’t see why not?”
level of friendship:
never in a million years / worst of enemies / enemies / rivals / indifferent / neutral / acquaintance / friendly toward each other / casual friends / friends / good friends / best friends / fuck buddies / bosom buddies / practically the same person / would die for them / true friends / my only friend.
“Of course I would describe us as friends. There’s still plenty I don’t know, plenty I would like to know. But i trust him. He’s good and I really want to spend more time with him.” She enjoyed whatever moments they managed to have together. Whether casual or ready in costume. He was simply someone she wanted to be around and could confide in.
first impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
“I hate bringing, but I was hardly a ‘hero’ from the start.” She wasn’t the worst, but no she wasn’t good either. And then on the Avengers they began to cross paths more… but she didn’t really know him. “I barely knew him for a long time, but of course you hear about people from others, don’t you? I suppose I was intrigued, but we were in quite different circles and then it was hard to see eye to eye. I’m glad we’re past that awkward stage.”
current impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
“I think they’re very impressive. I think they’re strange but great. They truly are unique. We have fun together, and I’m happy when he’s around. I trust him, and hope he can trust me.” He was quite the epitome of what a hero should be; generous and kind. He was genuine and put effort into everything he did.

Isak N Jiyeon - Tell Me Baby
Average of 7.1, and that kind of speaks for itself. Definitely my favorite overall out of the groups so far. The vocals were genuinely so good, in other groups I felt like they were hiding behind the mixing a bit, definitely not in this one. Their sound did start to get predictable by the end, and I still have no idea who Mr. Unnamed Rapper is, but that aside, I liked them a lot. They even got me to enjoy some of their slow jams, and that doesn’t happen often. Plus, this group is actually on Spotify, which means I can save their songs to my playlist (and I think I’ll do that for a few of them!). Their music never felt quite as repetitive as the others, and I think that helped a lot. Even though it got a bit predictable, there was enough variance that I couldn’t predict everything. If you’re gonna listen to one of these 1st gen girl groups, I highly highly suggest this one.
Come Back to Me
Love this intro
I’ve been told this is an r&b duo, and so far we are definitely r&b
This “here we go” is cool
Did they just burp in my ear?
I guess they’re going to continue burping in my ear, that’s awkward
Tasteful autotune
Mixing in the chorus is maybe a bit odd
Oh look a random male rapper, how fitting
8/10, This could totally get stuck in my head
Tell Me Baby
Why does this feel like a Red Velvet song
A bit slower and slow jammy, and we know I don’t care much for that
The timbres themselves make it way better than Sinvi at least
Yeah, you can tell this is early kpop because of how ballady the title track feels
The bridge was super impressive vocally
7/10 purely because it’s better than Shinvi in like, every way
One
Prominent bass
Counting to four!
Omg we’re counting past four
I wonder how high we can go!
Eight! We can go up to eight!
Dude this bass Exists
Oh okay, the counting to eight is the chorus, I thought it might be just an intro thing
Ooh this bridge with the water droplets is super fun
And it bleeds into a rap verse! That was so neat I liked that
Or is this part the bridge? Really it’s like there are two types of verses
9/10, this was so fun, I wasn’t sure at first but it totally won be over
The Sign
Back to slow jam land I guess
Oh my god, there was a time when they used this type of electric piano unironically?
6/10
The Way I Love U
I guess it’s gonna alternate uptempo and downtempo songs
Opening with a random male rapper
But the vocals overtop his rap are super fun
Alternating male and female rap lines, that’s fun
Mmm people singing over a rap beat is totally my style
Dude this guy has so many lines?? He’s literally doing a third of the song!
8/10, I quite enjoyed the addition of Mr. Unnamed Rapper
Everything For You
That high note was SO good, fading into the guitar, mmm
This outro section with the ad libs is SO good too
7/10, the first half was meh but the last part totally made up for it
Easy Come Easy Go
This is totally jarring compared to what I just listened to lol
There’s a bit going on in this song but it’s just not that interesting to me?
It’s kinda dark and it has pretty vocals but yeah it’s just not the vibe
6/10
Bad, Good Thing
Why does this intro feel kinda Nmixxy to me?
Does this have choreo? Some choreo synchronized to those hits would go hard
The chanting chorus is nice and spooky
Actually, this group feels kind of Red Velvet in general. Obviously Velvet RV
This would be really fun to sing along to
7/10, kinda not sure what to make of this song, I feel like I should listen to it again
My Wish
This group loves to have sudden stops in melodic lines
Ugh, I want to dislike this song but the vocals are genuinely so pretty
I do take issue with just how much falsetto there is in general, could go for a bit less
Tasteful outro, very much like Everything For You
7/10
Double
This group uses silence really well. Like, they cut out the vocals or the background music or the bass or the drums or whatever with good effect
More Unnamed Male Rapper
Actually, this guy has appeared so much on this album I kinda wanna find him
Well he doesn’t appear on the Wikipedia, sooo I dunno
7/10
I Don’t Know How
Speaking of I dunno…
I like how urgent the bass and the drums are, contrast with vocals and guitar
The chorus is so standard for this group
Holy shit we got the “tick tock you don’t stop” sample I’m crying
6/10, this is the first song where I felt like I could predict the whole thing, not ideal
Pray For You
“What a friend we have in Jesus,” wow, this is Rather Christian
The only other Christian kpop song I know is Kingdom Come, I guess?
Still, it’s surprisingly catchy
7/10, kind of a weird end to the album but I’ll take it

I finished the main quest for Tears of the Kingdom, rolled credits and got my little epilogue scene, and my final thoughts are... meh.
If that sounds familiar, that’s because the blunt truth is the game never changed from my first and second impressions. It shares the same exposition five times, it’s blatantly obvious not much is going on story-wise and the presentation, lovely as it is, can’t hide that. A majority of the plot is bad, and I don’t feel the need to sugarcoat that opinion for an otherwise good game.
(While none of my complaints are unique, there are probably hundreds of blogs and comments criticizing the same things I am, I will say, maybe unpopular opinion: I don’t mind the Sheikah tech being basically erased and replaced with Zonai stuff, and other little retcons throughout. All my problems with the structure is from treating TOTK as its own standalone game and story.)
I don’t even hate the main quests most of the time, it’s pathetically easy to skip the bits I wasn’t liking each time. In some ways the town stuff is a massive improvement over BOTW and fun to play and interact with this world. The dungeons and even getting to those places with a companion are neat little sequences. But I cannot emphasize enough how actually completing dungeons and being ‘rewarded’ with essentially the same (far too long) cutscene is such a deflating experience to what I was just enjoying. I don’t how to briefly explain it, but I feel like new Zelda games have this problem where I’m not really a part of them anymore as a player, I’m just supposed to sit there and accept that Link is The Hero the universe revolves around. It’s weird and boring and I hate it every time!!
LOZ games have always been game first, with narrative being a far second priority. And I’m an easy to please lady, I genuinely love BOTW and HWAOC because they’re simple and don’t waste time dressing themselves up as anything more important than they really are. I expected TOTK to be on that same level just with a different gimmick. But even with those reasonably low expectations, the story feels like it’s the brainstorm session of a plot that lucks into making a scene or thread I like, but spends a lot of time saying nothing. Most of it fell flat for me, and the worst part is I can see how even just a few punched up sentences here and there could have a domino effect to better emphasizing what I think the main quest is thematically trying to say. You certainly can’t make Ganon’s terrible dialogue worse. The basic shape of a decent story is there, it just desperately needs a second draft to reach its potential.
(I spent most of the post-credit scene thinking “what are you talking about?” as characters conversed about something that had been brought up maybe once, it was unintentionally funny)
Sorry to sound like a broken record, but it’s just plain true that Zelda is the only character I cared about here. She’s a bit too fair maiden archetype for me to be fully comfortable with (to be fair, this is a problem BOTW has too) but she’s got the closest thing to a basic character arc in comparison to the lacking development everyone else has. A concept at the center of her story is unambiguously cool and compelling to be worth pinning a game on. Along with the main quest, there are also side quests that show she’s been doing things like commissioning a schoolhouse to be built and starting an animal sanctuary at a stable. These are nice glimpses into a down-to-earth person’s life as she genuinely cares about the present world around her, not just the big plot stuff. It’s crumbs in comparison to other RPGs but I savored them.
I could say more but I actually want to focus on the stuff I set aside to get to the credits like finding more pretty outfits, or playing indie games I bought from itchio and haven’t checked out yet. At the very least, I preordered TOTK because I thought it would be fun to play and I might finally have an opportunity to experience something before fandom osmosis spoiled stuff for me, and I got to have that, it was nice. TL;DR narrative lacking but gameplay good.

Just saw Wakanda Forever.
I liked it a lot! First marvel movie I've seen in phase 4 beyond the joyless, effortless dreck that was Thor 4.
And I actually really enjoyed it.
Let's talk about it.
So first:
Story: 8/10
I enjoyed the story quite a bit. The pacing was much slower than any of the other frenetically ADHD Phase 4 Marvel stories, and I did enjoy the build up and tension. Not many quips and annoying one liners too. Just an emotionally deep, heavy melodrama with action thrown in here and there. The focus was on the characters and I really, really loved that.
But holy fuck. It was too long. We hit the 2 hour mark and I was like oh my god...there’s still 40 minutes...and those 40 minutes could’ve been sharper, cleaner. It lagged at several parts when it didn’t need to.
Martin Freeman and his wife were utterly pointless. Their scenes felt forced and strange and terribly uninteresting.
I don’t mind the over drama being how the world’s governments treat Wakanda...that was narratively cool and thematically solid, I just think Martin Freeman lacked the importance he had in the first movie, and so his entire role could’ve been cut or reduced.
He’s just exposition man, and the movie didn’t need the American government scenes. Not really. They didn’t have any impact on the main plot, really, anyway.
The main threat was Namor, and that was all we really needed.
So that’s the minus 2 deduction.
Action: 8/10
I loved the action of this movie because it felt meaningful, and character-focused, rather than just a CGI mess like say....Black Adam. There was real weight to the action, which is nice, since Thor 4 kind of destroyed my idea of Marvel as a decent action studio.
I enjoyed Wakandan tech, Shuri’s more technology based approach to fighting, and Okoye domination, as always. Less action than Black Panther, but where it existed, it was poignant, fun, had purpose, and felt fairly solid.
The only deduction comes from the fact that well. Some of the underwater action was meh. And I was a little underwhelmed by the climax. The fight on a Wakandan ship was...ehhh.
Still, Shuri vs. Namor was pretty damn cool.
Effects: 9/10
Solid! Thor 4 looked fucking awful. I was so worried they’d be fucking lazy.
But no.
This movie was gorgeous.
This movie had wonderful, real costumes with some amazing makeup, clothing designs, weapon designs, and integrated tech.
Great CGI that felt seamless and not horribly and lazily edited. Some wonderful cinematography and shots of both Wakanda and Atlantis. Er... Talokan.
The tech looks cool. The CGI suits and moving pieces weren’t too distracting, not unless you deliberately slow things down to analyze them, which I suspect some people will.
My only real complaint is that Talokan was so murky and dark that I had a hard time seeing the daily lives of Talokan’s people? We were supposed to see like, children and families and this ethereal underworld city that lives so different from us...
But I could barely see shit. Plus, it didn’t look natural? Everyone had this weird stiffness to how they were swimming...I didn’t believe they naturally belonged there. Everyone moved too spasmodically. Like they were in a pool and the director was making them act like they’re ok when they’re actually about to run out of oxygen?
They might’ve known that, cuz we didn’t linger on the city for too long.
It wasn’t like super horrible, it was just awkward. So 1 point demerit.
Wakanda looked fantastic. Even when under attack.
So here’s the meat of this review:
Characters 7/10:
Shuri 10/10: I loved the exploration of Shuri's grief and her arc of becoming the Black Panther. That was beautifully done, solid thematically, narratively suitable due to the unfortunate passing of Chadwick Boseman. It felt natural and respectful.
Shuri's relationship with Namor was thoughtful and deep and I liked how it was resolved. I'll admit I did want her to murder him for a brief moment just cuz I'm a gremlin like that, but it was nice for her to sit back and say well I'm a queen now. This isn't just between you and me. I don't want to bring our kingdoms against one another.
That was nice. It didn't feel as cheap as a marvel movie normally would do it, like, have Shuri make some dumb speech about how revenge is simply bad all the time.
It was more practical. A little less personal.
And it made sense for Shuri! She’s not this angry, passionate warrior.
She’s a scientist. A voice of reason.
Less mystical. Less honor bound, and more pragmatic and wise.
I always liked how Shuri was the character that represented Wakanda’s tech too.
Like Wakanda is this larger than life Afro-futuristic paradise where various African cultures from the real world are displayed...but also, it’s high tech.
So how do you negotiate between the highly technical and fantastic elements, with the more realistic, more grounded historical roots?
Shuri is the answer.
You have the traditional T’Challa. And then you have his more youthful and irreverent sister, who’s a scientist and a genius, who’s not just up to date with technology, but far ahead most of the world.
It makes sense, and having Shuri have to explore how that will affect her rule as the Queen...I liked that a lot.
I liked that she fought Namor hand to hand...and lost horribly, until she used her ship and her other tech to weaken him.
It made sense for her.
And again, the story of her grief and losing both her brother and mother...deciding that she would still reject revenge and embrace her new role as a leader...it was well done.
I loved Shuri here.
I hope her actress has given up on her anti vaxx weirdness from a while back!
Now...
That being said...
Namor 5/10: Didn't really like him. He felt a little underdeveloped. He had this hatred of colonists like Killmonger, but he lacked the emotional connection and development that Killmonger had.
We just didn't see his personal story enough. It didn't feel justified enough, since we only saw a few scenes of his mother, and only one scene about the horrors of the surface....
Plus we've already seen that anyway. It was a copy paste of the idea that here's an oppressed people who wanna get back at the rest of the world.
Not saying colonialism isn't bad or anything but in this particular narrative, you are just copy pasting a new anti genocide...genocidal maniac.
Plus his stupid wing feet had me rolling my eyes the entire time. He just didn't feel that intimidating. We didn't see much of his abilities in the water other than that he's very fast and he re powers through water.
Kind of not very memorable in terms of weapons either...man’s hot but he’s basically just a dude in a swim suit.
His necklaces/collar were interesting and his later re design was fine, but....I don’t know.
His aesthetic was fine, but his character narrative was weak to me.
And like I said, I was just laughing at his dumb little wing feet.
Yeah they give him the power of flight, so what? There are a lot of characters who can fly without looking silly.
Also again, not enough underwater stuff to really make him pop out as a credible villain.
He might as well have just been a flying villain.
I don’t mind the resolution they reached, though, so.
Okoye 4/10:
Listen. Okoye was very funny and I do love her. But she kind of...was just there for the first part, and then she got fired...and then Shuri just re-hired her again by the end part. Not nearly as complex as the first film.
I liked that they touched on Angela Bassett being annoyed still over that whole, siding with Killmonger shit.
But her character didn’t grow or change or do a whole lot, even as a civilian...
She didn’t even fix her mistake of letting Shuri get kidnapped. Nakia did that...
And speaking of Nakia...
Nakia 5/10:
I really feel like they didn’t know what to do with Nakia...she did save Shuri and the Scientist Girl at one point, but she didn’t do much for the whole rest of the movie, besides Be There.
I feel like they dropped the ball on this one.
And the ending credit scene, where she has T’Challa’s son...it’s sweet and all, but I can’t help but feel like it reduces her role to being a mom who’s off screen.
We didn’t see enough of her involvement with the main plot.
She was some emotional support for Shuri, but...she wasn’t impactful other than that. Kind of sad, I liked her a lot in the original, since she and T’Challa had these conflicting viewpoints about how Wakanda should be involved in the world...
But here, well. Now that the world knows of Wakanda...she just has no purpose or role.
She didn’t really have any good fight scenes either. Most of her work was ensemble. Mixed in with other randoms.
They did my girl dirty....but damn, she was gorgeous this movie...
M’Baku 11/10:
No notes. He’s perfect.
He’s hilarious, he’s emotional support. He and Shuri were so fucking cute.
No notes.
Queen Ramonda 11/10:
Angela Bassett carried this movie on her back. Truly phenomenal performance.
Wonderful beginning and end to her glorious character.
I am mad that they killed her, but...also, it was fitting enough, since Shuri becoming the next Queen AND the Black Panther was neat.
But damn, I am a little mad.
Ironheart 5/10:
I didn’t hate this character, but...she was like...barely present. She was important initially, but then she just got under water shafted for a long time...then she came back to help Shuri do some background work....then she was in the final battle.
And that was kind of it.
I didn’t care for her suit, and didn’t feel like her character had enough significance to Shuri or the main plot.
She was a genius tech expert, but helping Shuri design the anti Namor ship was something any character could’ve done, that’s how background it felt.
I didn’t think she had enough of a fleshed out backstory either.
She didn’t have an arc, plus I wish she and Shuri had bonded more over their scientific genius. Their friendship came across to me like...I guess they like each other.
We needed more of them finishing each other’s sentences or geeking out over their shared technical prowess.
We only really got a scene in the beginning and the very end.
not enough meat and potatoes.
And that Ironman suit was dopey looking.
So all in all...
8/10.
Yeah.
Solid, really good, way better than anything else in Phase 4....
Chadwick Boseman’s scenes had me tearing up or openly weeping....
A touching tribute to him, as well as the character.
The runtime needed to be reduced, however, and the plot dragged in several places.
Plus, Namor could’ve been more interesting. Beefed up.
Narratively, of course. His actor was pure beef.
Overall, I really liked it, though.
I’ve only seen 2 Marvel Phase 4 movies, and I’ll say.
Wakanda Forever deserved to be better than Thor 4, and it was.
Rest in peace, Chadwick.
You’re a legend.

MAG034, Anatomy Class
Case #161207, Dr. Lionel Elliot Release date: September 1st, 2016 First listen: 6th November, walk home. Definitely remember crossing over the canal bridge.
The Anatomy Students… I love them… I think in the late 20s early 30s episodes, this podcast went from, ‘oh this is interesting, I’m enjoying this’ to ‘… oh this is really good… oh no… this may be a problem…’ And I was right! The Anatomy Class episode was one of those moments that really stands out in my memory.
- Off the bat, we’ve got a live recording, so that helps us with the time frame a bit more. Recording taken on the 12th July, and looking back MAG022 was recorded 12th March… Martin’s been living in the institute for 4 MONTHS?!? The worms have been happening for 4 months!??! How many stomach ulcers are in the making right now? Good grief, no wonder everyone is exhausted, they’re all stressed out of their minds. Wonder how many times Jon has glimpsed Martin in his pants?
- While it’s refreshing to not have someone instantly condemn the tape recorder, and as someone who still uses a filofax I appreciate it, I don’t much care for his tone when talking about the advancements being made in medicine with the use of robotics. It’s well above my understanding but I always enjoy listening to my sister and her fiancee talking about new methods and techniques. These fields are all about saving lives and while this doctor may want to ‘feel that pancreas’, his patient will most definitely want to be alive to use that pancreas, and the body may not survive a full ‘popping of the bonnet’ shall we say. I’m just getting a bit of ‘OK boomer’. ‘Meh, devices, mehmeh.’
- I know there’s a bit of a stereotype with surgeons of jumping immediately to the slicing and dicing… but I don’t think it is unwarranted.
- It’s getting to the stage where the worms are being noticed by visitors, yikes. Also, ‘Bitten? They’re worms.’ Mate, when was the last time you handled an infectious diseases or parasitology case, huh?
- ‘Where, where do you want me to start? The bones? The blood? The… uh… the fruit?’ … Well, that smacks of both divinity and butchery…
- ‘Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology… At King’s College, London.’ So I looked up the module course online and it does exist. It may have been different in 2016, when this was releases and presumably written, but this happened to Dr Elliott ‘in early 2016’. The website sates that this module is taught in the autumn semester.
- Now, I’m looking at this 8 year, Christ 8 years?!, in the future and we are in a post-lockdown/continual-Covid world, so teaching methods have changed, but I’m looking at the module summary and I don’t know how Dr Elliot would take it:
‘The use of computer-assisted learning (Anatomy & Physiology Online, Primal Pictures) during tutorial sessions will enable the students to learn using virtual 3D representations taken from the Visible Human data set … There will be 2 lab sessions that will be assessed from the experimental write-ups. Also there will be 2 sessions in the dissection room to facilitate learning about the skeleton and the cardiovascular system.’
Think it’s a little more remote learning then he’d be comfortable with… comfortable with any other year than 2016 that is.
- ‘I get tired of… squeamish students’… These kids want to learn, are putting themselves in financial straits to do so and I will hear no judgement against them. You build a resilience to this sort of thing, heavens knows I did, and it takes time and exposure. Don’t be rude.
- ‘Spillover class’. points at the academic schedule not making sense and then back at this paragraph Ooooh, cool, it’s covered in universe. ‘… the system had accepted more students for the course than there were places’, sooo this kinda happened to me, but with accommodation rather than tuition. So I spent first year in international, post grad halls… That sucked…
- ‘I have a lot of research due shortly and, well, you know academia – never enough hours in the day.’ I can only imagine, what sort of haggard wreck Jon is starting to look like at this stage in the series. He’s not got the iconic scars yet, but I bet he’s not been looking after himself. He possibly felt a little bit of camaraderie with Dr Elliott, clinging to veil of academia the way he does, but knowing how prickly Jon can be, he could just as easily take affront at the over familiarity.
- ‘I wasn’t responsible for any of the lectures…’ I wonder if those lectures were attended, or if they were ever even scheduled…
- ‘… but I don’t remember what they look like.’ mii theme song playing in the background Blank slates all of them.
- ‘…maybe because they were such an international group.’ I. LOVE. THEIR. NAMES. Fucking love this Jonny, you clever sod. - Erika Mustermann – German - Jan Novak – Czech - Piotr and Pavel Petrov – Russian - John Doe – English - Fulan al-Fulani – Arabic - Juan Pérez – Latin American Spanish All place holder names in different cultures, you clever, clever bastard.
- The fact that he says ‘14 eyes’ instead of ‘7 pairs of eyes’ is weird.
- ‘I got the oddest feeling they were judging my walk.’ Must learn from teacher. Observe, learn, imitate.
- I find the whole ‘building the interior as they learn about it’, just, so cool and clever concept. They can observe a person and get the build and the movement but learning how the components fit together and interact and everything? Excellent, brilliant, ugh I love it.
- ‘…their breathing deliberate and almost pointed.’ ‘Look. We have learned. Are we doing it right?’
- ‘How sharp are the knees meant to be?’ They’re babies. Teach and guide these abomination babies.
- ‘I just did my best to stop caring.’ How many statements are going to carry this sentiment? That at some point or another, the subject is just going to ‘nope’ right out and make it through? I’m going to have to start a tally.
- ‘Their faces, normally so neutral, were alive with… what was it I saw? Excitement? Curiosity? Hunger?’ THEY’RE BABIES!
- They are effectively playing ‘dress up’… with skeletal remains… I love them.
- They are such diligent students. There ever tutorial, ready to learn, even if the lecturer isn’t there.
- Hearts… Ooof… let the ‘sinister nonsense’ begin.
- ‘Maybe I thought they’d descend into some sort of feeding frenzy, but they didn’t.’ Well, that is both rude and hurtful. Actually, to be fair, I did once ask about taking pheasants we’d been dissecting in lab home for cooking… There were about 4 of us who were watching about 20 odd bird carcasses just getting discarded going ‘umm… I could curry that… sure I can’t take it? Oh, ok…’
- ‘… that if I couldn’t see or hear it, I didn’t care.’ Very ‘child hiding behind a curtain, if I can’t see them they can’t see me’ mentality.
- Again, I ask, ‘Where does the blood COME FROM?!’
- I think the whole situation can be described succinctly as ‘horrible miracle’, I think Dr Elliott was right on the money there.
- ‘I asked Elena and, irregular as it was, she gave me the address.’ Well, THAT feels like a safe guarding violation…
- Kingsland Road in Newham. I thought for a moment maybe the Anatomy Students and Sarah Baldwin and the others taken by The Anglerfish all lived together, but Melanie picked Sarah up from Sydenham in MAG028, which is the other side of the river by quite a distance. ‘…and the details have disappeared from the college systems.’ Clean up.
- ‘I was about to reply when a muffled scream of pain came from somewhere deep inside the house.’ Oh God… I’d completely forgotten they’d gone in search of, umm, ‘additional educatioal material’. Oh dear… Bad babies…
- ‘And the apple, did you… eat it? / Do I look like an idiot? Of course not! I cut it in half, first, to check if it was… off.’ I can only hope you are speaking euphemistically and it was your morbid curiosity that prompted you to cut the apple open and that you had exactly zero intentions of actually eating it because GOOD GRIEF MAN!
- And again, human teeth where there ought not to be human teeth. To be fair to Jonny, teeth are fucking weird.
- ‘The first thing about this statement that makes me dubious is that it comes from a fellow academic.’ HA! Oh Jonathan, my sweet, self aware boy… Oh… Oh, I thought this may be a commentary on the ‘ivory tower of academia’ concept, but actually it’s because they’re so used to getting bullied by other nerds…
- ‘It seems strange to me that Dr. Elliott would fail to take note of this.’ And indeed this could be a point in the ‘the other nerds are being mean to us’ column, but I think it also may be down to how focused and, sometimes insular circles of academia can be, the fact that this was missed by Dr Elliott.
- ‘… but Tim seems to believe her.’ And we believe Tim. Tim is the best.
- ‘… they all seemed like healthy adult teeth, and most of them appeared to come from different people.’ Are they… umm… are they samples taken from the ‘samples’ that the anatomy students were sourcing?
- ‘… early last year, Dr. Rashid Sadana took his own life. There’s no direct connection, except that he taught the Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies course at St. Mary’s University…’ Well, they’re doing their studies, they went and got their pre-requisites…

lullaby (pt. 2 to cherry) // v.h.
This part went through so many changes. Originally, they weren't getting back together but I ultimately decided for Y/n to take Vinnie back because I'm a sucker for happy endings and second chances. Kinda came out longer than I wanted it too, but meh. This part is heavily inspired by the song "Lullaby" by Mariah Carey. Other than that, I hope you enjoy!
link to part 1
Word Count: 2219, unedited
WARNING: language, mentions of partying, alcohol, drugs, and a very fluffy yet cheesy ending.
---------
It had been a few months since you and Vinnie had bid your goodbyes. Within those months, you were doing great. You had aced your first semester classes, you just moved into your apartment, and you were at the highlight of your life. The only thing you lacked was someone to bask in the happiness with. To say you missed Vinnie was an understatement, but you were too prideful to actually tell yourself that.
You tried dating again, but no one could hold a candle to your Vinnie. Plus, you hadn’t been keeping up with him on social media or anything, so you didn’t know if he had moved on and forgotten you. You didn’t want to reopen old wounds, so you refrained from contacting him.
But little did you know, not a day went by that Vinnie didn’t think about you. He constantly thought about what he did, beating himself up for even having the thought of another girl while he was with you. But he didn’t know what to do. Your relationship was dying, and none of you bothered to even talk about it. So, to him, he thought there was nothing that he could do…thus causing him to do what he did. Thankfully, he didn’t go too far with the girl, but still…he knew what he did was terrible.
Dating for him was pretty much impossible. Much similar to your situation, there was no one who could fill your shoes. The way you danced around in his head during the day and ruled his dreams at night…no one could do that for him. You were one of a kind, and with as many offers he got, he was torn that none of them were from you. He was a funk…a really bad one.
His friends and housemates took notice of this and being the best friends they were, they decided to drag him out of the house and to a party at Triller Compound because that’s what every heartbroken friend needed when they’re down. To be surrounded by booze, loud music, and sweaty people…oh yeah, that’s what he definitely needed right at this moment.
“C’mon, at least smile a little bit.” Alex said, looking back the upset boy through the rearview mirror.
“Smile about what? Going to some party that I didn’t even want to go to.”
“You seriously need to get over, Y/n.” Thomas sighed, turning to Vinnie from the passenger seat. “What happened between to you two happened for a reason. You just gotta let it go.”
Mia scoffed from beside Vinnie and slapped Thomas on the shoulder. “Thomas, it’s not that easy!”
“I’m just saying, if it were me, I wouldn’t be all upset and everything.”
“So, you’re saying if we broke up…you wouldn’t be sad?” Mia responded sharply, obviously joking.
Thomas nearly choked, looking back at his girlfriend. “I-I’m not saying that. I mean, if…it’s just that…it’s different, okay. He cheated.”
“Did you have to bring that up?” Mia rolled her eyes and turned to Vinnie. “Don’t listen to him, okay. It was your relationship, and sure you messed it up, but…you still can be sad about it. I think.”
Vinnie huffed and stayed silent, no bothering to listen to anyone. He didn’t need people reminding him of his mistakes, that was the whole reason why he was being a downer. He just couldn’t forgive himself. There were no ounce of words or speeches that anyone could give him that would make him feel better. This was just something that he’d have to get over with time.
It was only minutes before they pulled up to the packed mansion and stumbled out of Alex’s car, Vinnie being the last out. He watched as his friends rushed to the house before heading inside. Upon entering the house, scenes of people grinding and drinking came into his sights. The sound of trap music filled his ears as the strong stench of weed brushed across his nose. He sneered before walking to the backyard. He scanned the area for any sober person he knew, hoping to find someone to complain about his situation to.
As he searched, his eyes landed on a familiar head of y/h/c hair. He furrowed his brows, trying to get a better view of the person. “That can’t be who I think it is,” he thought to himself as he moved in closer.
That was when you looked to side, and he caught a glimpse of your profile. His heart nearly stopped beating the minute he saw your face. He breathed hitched in his threat as he tried to keep himself from hyperventilating. He never thought he’d see you again, yet here you were…just a few feet away from him. He had forgotten the fact that you two had mutual acquaintances, so it came to no surprise that you’d come to this party.
Vinnie watched as you threw you head back in laughter at something one of your friend’s said. There wasn’t much he could do but stare at you. He didn’t know what to do. It’d be risky to even think you’d want to talk to him, so he refrained from walking up to you. He didn’t want to bring up painful memories. It was a good thing you hadn’t seen him yet.
---------
“You’re joking!” You smiled. “Come to think of it though, Bryce would be the one to try and drink tequila off your tits.”
Your friend, Y/bff/n snorted, “I know right!? I was like…sir, I am not that kind of a girl. Please have a good night.”
The two of you continued to laugh at her situation before you heard her go silent. You calmed yourself down, looking at her shocked face. Confused, you followed her eyes and turned around to see what had her so shook up. At that moment, your eyes met the very person you had least expected to see tonight…
Vinnie.
He was staring right back at you. The minute he realized you were looking back at him, he nearly freaked out. He attempted to look around, playing as if he hadn’t been eyeing you, but you had already caught him in the act.
“Is that…?”
“Vinnie, yep. That’s him.” You said, placing a hand on your hip. “I wonder what he’s doing here.”
Y/bff/n snickered. “It’s a party, Y/n.”
“I know that, but I honestly didn’t expect him to be here tonight.”
You two watched the boy look around frantically and you couldn’t help but smile a bit. You missed him and judging from the sight in front of you…it seemed as if he did too. But still, you were a bit out of the loop. Who’s to say he hasn’t already moved on. You couldn’t intrude on his happiness, that wouldn’t be fair.
“You should go talk to him.” Y/bff/n said.
You looked at her with your eyebrows raised. “You really think so?”
“It’s obvious he’s still into you, babes. And considering the fact you’ve been looking at him with those goo-goo eyes, I think you’re still into him too.”
“I don’t know, Y/bff/n. I mean…what if he’s seeing someone else.”
“There’s no way. If he’s trying that hard to pretend that he wasn’t just staring at you, he’s still hung up on you. And, even if he is seeing someone, that doesn’t mean you can’t just go and talk to him.”
You shrugged. “I guess you’re right.”
“Atta girl. Oh, and on your way back, make sure you grab me one of those little mini cakes. I’ve been craving one since we got here.”
Rolling your eyes at the foolish girl, you proceeded to leave her side and head over to Vinnie. The moment he saw you, he practically froze. You could tell he was nervous; his awkward stance and wide eyes told it all.
Within seconds, you stood before the boy, a slight grin on your face.
“Hey, Vinnie.” You greeted, placing your arms behind your back.
“Y/n, didn’t see you there!” He laughed. “Well, I did see you there but like, I wasn’t watching you or anything…yeah, totally wasn’t watching you.”
Your smile grew wider. “Yeah, sure. So, how’ve you been?”
“Good, uh…definitely good. You?”
“Um, my classes are going well, and I just got a new place…so, can’t complain.”
“That’s dope, Y/n. Glad to hear you’re doing good.”
You nodded, looking down at your feet. “Same to you. I’m sure you’re, y’know…enjoying everything with your girlfriend.”
Vinnie looked at you with a puzzled expression, your statement taking him back a bit. To be honest, he couldn’t be surprised that you thought he’d be taken by now because he thought the same about you. However, at the same time, with the way he was acting right now, he was shocked you didn’t realize he was still head-over-heels for you.
“I don’t, um…I’m not seeing anyone.”
You grinned to yourself, trying to keep your cool as you tilted your head at him. “I’m sorry, I just thought you’d be with someone.”
“It’s fine. I definitely get it. To be honest, I thought you’d be here with someone.”
“Technically, I am.” You replied.
It was at that moment Vinnie felt his heart explode and despair run through his system. He weakly put on a happy face, shooting you a thumbs up.
“That’s g-great.”
“Yeah, Y/bff/n just was dying to come with me. She’s been begging to go to one of these parties, so I thought why not?”
“Oh,” Vinnie breathed, feeling his heart piece itself back together. “So, you’re not seeing anyone?”
You shook your head. “Not right now. I’ve been on a few dates and stuff, but no one has ever made me feel like y-”
You stopped yourself, locking your lips together to keep that last word from leaving your mouth. You didn’t know why, but something in you didn’t want you sharing your feelings with Vinnie. Maybe it was the small ounce of hurt that clung to your heart like a child from Vinnie’s infidelity. Or maybe it was the slight fear that he may not want to get back together. There were so many thoughts in your head, all speaking at once. It was so loud, that you didn’t even catch what Vinnie had said to you.
“…and-…Y/n? You listening?” He tapped you gently, bringing you out of your head.
“Sorry about that. I was in my head for a moment. What were you saying?”
“I was just saying that I’m sorry for what I did. I was just so confused on where we stood in our relationship, not saying that it justifies my actions, but instead of coming to talk to you, I went and…well, did what I did. Believe me, I never meant to hurt you, and I totally understand if you don’t forgive me.”
You sighed, “I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t know where our relationship was headed either. Honestly, I was planning to break up with you that night.”
“And I ended up giving you even more of a reason to do so.”
You both laughed before meeting each other’s eyes.
“I wish we had talked about it, y’know? Communicated and all of that suff. It would’ve saved us both a heap of heartache.” You continued. “I can’t lie, even though life has been good, it sucks not being able to share it with you.”
Vinnie smirked, taking your hands in his. “Y/n, ever since we broke up…I haven’t been able to think about anything but you. I hadn’t streamed, I barely left the house…I couldn’t do anything. I just didn’t know how to function without you. You have such a hold over me…I didn’t know how to get over you.”
“I guess this whole goodbye thing really wasn’t a good idea after all.”
“No, I think it was. I think it happened for a reason. That reason being, so we can fall in love all over again.”
At this point, you were a smiling mess and there was nothing you could do to hide it. Vinnie wasn’t any better, you could tell he was in pain by the way he hadn’t stopped showing his pearly whites. It clear to both of you now that you two were still in love, if not more than before.
“That’s so sweet, Vin.” You said. “But also, cheesy. You were always the sappy one in the relationship.”
“As if, Miss Hopeless Romantic. I’m not the one who freaks out over Valentine’s Day.”
“Mmhm, sure you don’t.”
The two of you stood there for minute in silence, your hands entangled, and your gazes planted on each other. It felt good, and it was almost as if all that hurt…that fear…it was completely gone and now replaced with passion and security.
“Y/n, I know you probably have some resentment towards me, but I love you too much to care. So, if you’re willing and there’s enough forgiveness in your heart…I wanna restart, right from the beginning.”
Without much thought or hesitation, you said, “We can restart. For sure.”
“Well, in that case…Hi, I’m Vinnie.”
You smiled as the feeling of love washed over you. To say you were happy was an understatement, you were in paradise. Life was great, and now you had your boy back to share it with.
“Nice to meet you, Vinnie. I’m Y/n.”

For day three, could you do prompt three for Bandō? More specifically: In a setting where such behavior wouldn’t be threatening (during the day, with people milling about, etc), a smiling stranger approaches the character and says “you know, you’re pretty cute”. How does the character react?
Of course I can, my dear! Thank you so much for the request and I hope you’ll enjoy the headcanons for this boy! He’s a dork, but adorable and I love writing for him!
Like with so many other things in life, how Bandou is going to react to this situation depends on a lot of different things. His mood, who the person is approaching him, where he is, if he’s alone or with friends, how busy he is – all of these are going to factor into how he reacts to the situation and can definitely change how he’ll react, both in small and large ways.
Sometimes, honestly, Bandou is going to get into moods. Maybe he didn’t sleep well, maybe there’s something stressful going on, maybe he’s been doing a lot more socializing than he’d like to have been doing lately which, despite being an ambivert, can take a lot out of him. And even without those, sometimes he’ll just get into moods where he’s either cranky or kind of just meh towards the idea of life itself and he’ll just want to be left the fuck alone for a day or so. When he’s in those kinds of moods, it’s not going to matter who approaches him, how attractive and kind they are, he just doesn’t want to deal with it. If the person approaching him is attractive, he won’t be as snippy, cold, or rude and will say thank you but just kind of want to move along on his day, get whatever’s he out for, and go back home because he just plain out does not want to deal with people that day period.
When I say that who the stranger approaching him is will change his reaction, it’s obvious. Overall, I do think Bandou is kind of paranoid enough to be suspicious about the intentions of someone randomly walking up to him, telling him how attractive he is. What are they after? Are they pranking him, trying to extort something from him? However, if the person approaching him is an attractive female, Bandou’s ego will override his paranoia. He’ll grin and try to flirt with the attractive stranger, trying to play it cool but smooth, probably flexing and trying to show off a little, and he’s going to try to get them on a date with him if he’s not busy or at the very least, he’s going to try to get their number. If the person is indeed trying to get something out of them, they’re likely going to succeed when Bandou gets under the pull of his own ego. Now, if the person approaching him is someone he doesn’t find attractive, but is nice about it all, I see him thanking them for the compliment, taking the ego boost, but trying to get away from them quickly. If he finds the person truly ugly or if the person is coming on really strong though, Bandou can be a bit of an asshole at times and this will be one of those times, where he’s probably rude.
If the person is unattractive and Bandou’s out with his boys, who will tease him about the situation, the chances of him actively being an asshole to this kind stranger shoot up about a hundred percent, where he’ll definitely be trying to look cool and badass for his friends and will be such a dick to this person to try to make his boys think he’s cool and to get them to laugh at this person’s expense.
Now, no matter what the person looks like or how badly he wants to hang out with them for a bit more, if Bandou is really busy, especially with something important for HOMRA, he can stay really focused and while he might toss a thanks at the person, he’s not really stopping because he needs to get things done. However, the compliment will still make his day and he’ll find himself smiling over it quite a bit all throughout the day/evening.

Ok, I know I just gave you a request before this, but I actually would love to see how the brothers + the Angels (and the Succubi 😏😂) react to an MC that ACTUALLY HAS BDE, and is a total fucking Dom down to their core (No submitting for this bitch, they literally can’t without being severely uncomfortable and that’s not sexy at all 😤)
I really love this idea so much actually.
And it's not that I love this one more than your other one, but this one felt a little easier to write to me.
NSFW-ish : nothing explicit but mentions of bdsm and sexy times
Everyone's Reaction to a Dominant MC:
Lucifer:
Before he comes to like the MC he HATES their dominant personality.
To him it comes off as defiant and bossy (talk about the pot calling the kettle black)
But after he gets to know the MC and grows to love them, he finds it incredibly attractive
The problem is that, he's normally the dom...
He's a bit conflicted.
MC doesn't like being dominated at all and he's only into it every once in a blue moon
So they end up being more of kindred spirits, and exchange "advice" about dominating their partners
Mammon:
He thinks the MC is kinda bossy, which he'll say he doesn't like, but he actually kinda likes it...?
But when MC praises him? That's what he really likes.
He'll do anything if MC will praise him for it
It doesn't even have to be sexual, he'd stop stealing if MC calls him "my good boy"
Well, he says he would. He can't help himself sometimes...
But if MC doles out the punishment? He won't even run.
He can't quite figure it out, (he's a fucking sub he just won't admit it) but it's not so bad when MC punishes him. And it's not because MC goes easy on him.
Leviathan:
Both him and the MC are in for a bit of a surprise when they're getting onto him about his messy room one day
It's really not unusual for his room to be messy. But for whatever reason, MC is really upset about it today.
"... you lazy, pathetic shut-in...!"
"Ah... don't stop..." Levi whines.
MC is taken off guard at first, even blushes a little. "Wait... so you want me to call you names?"
Levi goes red as a cherry. "Y-yeah... I mean, if you want to..."
MC grins. "So you want me tell you how pitiful and filthy you are?" They run their hands over his shoulders teasingly.
Levi nods. Did he get even redder??
MC grins mischievously. "Okay... but you gotta clean your room first."
Levi frowns. "Wait..."
"Do it or I'll compliment you."
"Don't..." he begs softly.
"Levi, you're so smart and handsome and good at video games..." MC teases.
"No! O. M. G. Shut up!" He immediately starts cleaning up.
MC is grinning like the Cheshire Cat after figuring it all out.
Satan:
Satan only likes MC's dominant side when they turn it on Lucifer. He just finds it entertaining as hell.
But he absolutely does not like it when it gets turned on him though. Because, well...
They remind him of Lucifer when they're like that.
Also, he tends to be more of a dominant personality himself so...
MC will be nice and not act like that with Satan, but they can really just be friends in that case
Asmodeus:
MC being dominant is really really sexy to him
Asmo isn't so much of sub as much as he'll kinda just do whatever to get off
But Asmo is definitely bratty, he thinks it makes it more fun if MC has to work for what they want
MC doesn't mind so much, they like to play too
They're also an excellent brat tamer 😏
Beelzebub:
Beel doesn't mind MC being dominant if that's what they like
He really does prefer them being on top anyways
MC can't bring themself to do anything crazy with Beel though because he's just such a good boy
They'd feel bad even if Beel says he's cool with it
And he really is cool with it, he's really chill as long as they communicate
(Which you should be doing anyways!)
Belphegor:
This man is the definition of brat energy.
It's just so much easier to not do something than to do whatever MC wants them to do
Belphie is a little torn about how he feels about MC being so dominant
On the one hand, he loves fucking with them and he likes that MC wants to do all the work more or less
But on the other hand, they get pushy and bossy and then they remind him of Lucifer
Definitely not sexy to think about your older brother, whether you like him or not
Diavolo:
Ya know those CEOs, etc that spend all day being in charge and so every once in a while they just wanna let go and be dominated? Yeah, that's definitely our crown prince
He's such an obedient little sub, he'll do anything the MC tells him to do, he's just so happy to not be in charge for once
MC is really good about being respectful to Diavolo in front of folks, but as soon as that bedroom door closes... 😏
Barbatos:
He loves MC being dominant as long as it's being used for keeping the brothers in line or helping Lord Diavolo relax...
But when MC is dominant towards him... ehh....
He's really more of a switch himself, and even then he's not into anything... hardcore.
While he doesn't hold the same status as Lord Diavolo, he still is a person who is very much in control and sometimes he needs to let go and relax
But he also likes being in control.
So if he can't ever dominate MC, he's more than happy to just be friends with them
Solomon:
Solomon is... an interesting case.
We all know this man radiates brat energy. Like all day long. To everyone.
And MC kinda loves it, but they also hate it.
At this point in his life, Solomon finds having power kinda... meh
I mean, when you were once a king and have been the most powerful sorcerer, at some point having power just isn't interesting
So he likes playing the part of the (bratty) sub
But its Solomon, and he likes to push the envelope...
He tried to do something domineering with MC ONCE, and it caused him to be defenestrated.
Solomon is decidedly not a brat for a long time after that.
Simeon:
He finds it amusing how the MC bosses the brothers around so easily
But when they want to do... things with him, he's a little unsure.
It's not new territory for him in terms of knowledge, but it is in terms of practice.
MC is fascinated by the idea of dominating an angel. In a way, it feels like they're corrupting him.
Well, Simeon's willing to try (almost) anything once.
MC is gentle with Simeon, even if their words aren't
Simeon actually likes it. And he'll never be into impact play but he enjoys being tied up.
Luke:
Luke is LIVING for MC bossing the brothers around.
It's only what they deserve (so he thinks)
But sometimes, MC will say something bossy and their voice sounds different, lower...
Then Simeon covers his ears.
He doesn't know why Simeon keeps doing that. He really wants to hear MC boss the brothers around...
Succubi:
They're astounded. They're in awe. They're horny af watching MC boss the brothers around.
They talk amongst each other about MC so much.
"Do you think they're really a dom or are they just bossy?"
"Do you think the brothers like it or is MC just like this all the time?"
"... do you think they'd... with me?"
They all think that. They all hope for that.
And they really really wanna ask but... well they're all subs, god demon king bless them.
A couple of them get the courage to ask but then they get nervous during the execution and MC is not exactly the sharpest tack...
So MC literally has no idea how many demons want to fuck them....
Until Valentine's Day that is.
Dom MC is not easily overwhelmed. But the sheer amount of presents they get... and how many of them are from succubi that want to be dominated by them...
MC is really flattered but also wildly embarrassed. They lock themself in their room for a few days while they think of the best way to easily let down a bunch of horny succubi.
It goes better than one would expect saying "no" to a bunch of demons would... but it is not without disappointment and more embarrassment.
MC locks themself away again after having to do all that.
MC will be okay, but they might need some mental aftercare from their favorite boy afterwards
