who he is as a person — his family background, his beliefs, and who he ultimately chooses to be �� is so endlessly interesting to me. being a child of both the Erdtree and the Moon, growing up idolizing the Erdtree’s champions like his father and Godfrey, but being a talented sorcerer in his own right like his mother, was he conflicted when Radagon betrayed Rennala? did he ever come to resent his father, both for breaking his mother’s heart and for replacing his greatest idol, Godfrey? there’s something so significant to me about Radagon despising his red hair, and Radahn embracing that same hair he inherited as the mark of a champion. did this affect his relationship with Radagon? on the other hand, did he know that challenging the stars was also halting his Carian family’s fate? did he care? there’s such a fascinating back-and-forth between Radahn and both sides of his family!

• least favorite thing about them

his writing in the dlc… will never get over how botched it feels. and I���m not talking about the actual plot points, I’m talking about how those plot points were revealed to us in the story! the reason why everyone felt like him showing up was an asspull plot twist was because there’s no hint whatsoever in the base game that Miquella and Radahn ever had a relationship at all. as a result, I think the writers had to speedrun a Radahn-Miquella reveal plotline with Freyja and Ansbach, while cramming references to Radahn into the dlc (like the Red Bear npc, and his relationship to Gaius and Messmer) to make him seem less out of nowhere… but to me it just comes across as a rushed plotline with extremely clumsy foreshadowing. I guess they didn’t know they would get to make a dlc when they made the game so they didn’t include anything about him and Miquella in the base game so there wouldn’t be random plot threads that go nowhere, or they originally planned something slightly different that didn’t pan out so they had to rework it but were only able to do so in the dlc. either way extremely disappointing. also his promised consort remembrance weapons are the laziest excuse for a remembrance of all time they’re just the starscourge greatswords again but different. is this some kind of sick joke

I resent Radahn/Miquella ONLY because their relationship has no buildup whatsoever and completely breaks the “show don’t tell” rule of storytelling. we’re told Miquella admired Radahn, but we never see this until he shows up as the final boss! I definitely wouldn’t dislike this ship if they had handled this storyline better but unfortunately with how things went it’s just embarrassing to me

I wrote a post about this already, but I think people are too quick to assume that he’s a Golden Order loyalist who wants to preserve the world in its current state. you could go on and on listing reasons why he would actually oppose the current Order… and in fact I did go on and on about it here. I think the most crucial thing to note is that Radahn has always made idolizing Godfrey his entire personality, and Godfrey was literally banished… the Order is very different now from what it once was!

I really like how he’s depicted here… he’s got like a mature, lined face, and the way the painting is displayed (in a nicely furnished drawing room above the fireplace) feels like a very public declaration of respect and admiration? I think it says something about Radahn’s character that his brother who despises the Golden Order still seems to look up to him and care for him!

The thing about the Mighty Nein is… they’re not just fuck ups. All of them could and probably are the villains in someone else’s story. Well, except one.

Not counting the hippy therapist that brews dead people tea, the best of them is the enthusiastic kinda leader of a kinda cult of a prankster god.

Vox Machina is a bunch of fuck ups that needed a chance to show the world they were heroes

Bell’s Hells are a bunch of NPCs that are thrown into world changing events

But the Nein? They are people who have done terrible things. Terribly damaged people that have been hurt by the world and lashed out. People that had no one to rely on, but found each other. People who decide to break the cycle and do better than was done to them

There will be no Legend of the Mighty Nein. An animated series, yes, I hope to all the gods yes. But a legend? Nah, they are not the things of legend. No one knows what they did or what they faced

They were the perfect party to see the kingdom of “monsters” and help them. They are the party of redemption because if they aren’t beyond saving no one is beyond saving

Bell’s Hells are the party of the downtrodden and forgotten, the little folk standing up against a great power

The Mighty Nein are the people who can’t ask for forgiveness, who don’t want forgiveness, who don’t want recognition, but who know how easy it is to do the wrong thing and have decided to do the right thing anyway

it is a bunch of broken, fragmented people who become better together. it is a family bound by loss and love.

Anyway, when people ask where to start with CR, I can’t help but say Campaign 2. Because while it is meandering and frustrating at times, these weirdos have my whole heart, because, like them, I feel like no one is beyond redemption

Genshin Impact: First Impression

I know, "You just NOW getting into Genshin after four years?'

Well, I didn't want to play on my phone so I waited to buy a laptop. I did bought a MacBook for school but then I found out that even though this game runs on IOS it doesn't run on MacOS...

(I should've known since the game isn't on the Switch...

Why most of the games I want to play isn't playable on the devices I have- Anyways back to the point.

I just finish Mondstadt in Genshin and so far I really like the story which makes me excited for what they have in store in Liyue. So this is all my thoughts about the first Archon quest, all in one go.

This chapter was a nice introduction to the world of Tevyat and I like how we already have to worry about two antagonistic groups (The fatui and Abyss Order)

Matter of fact let me list down how I think of each character:

The traveler:

I wish they have more character to them especially during the cutscenes. Despite being the protagonist I feel like they’re just in the backseat most of the time with the exception of them needing to action scenes. (Due to this my version of the traveler is that they're snarky but their heart is in the right place.) But I like how they showed us what the other sibling is doing because most stories they will have it a mystery right before the final arc

Paimon:

She’s cute but also WHERE IS HER PARENTS? At the start, she said that she was saved from drowning and I was like “Who was watching you?? Do you have any friends or anything?” I truly believe she will be a plot point in the story considering she can float around and have a space aesthetic to her

Venti:

I really like how mysterious he was at the start of the story and then later we see how much of a doofus he is. (Not saying he's dumb but carefree) Despite not wanting to be a ruling god, he still cares for his city in his own way. I don’t know why but if you mix Pit and Palutena together and then boom there’s Venti.

Amber:

I love her design so much. It's simple yet effective especially with the red bow. I feel like the team knew this too which is why she comes with her own plushie which is so freaking cute! Her character quests is fun too when she taught us to get our own glider's license. I don't know why but she gives the first classmate you befriend in class energy (Probably because she is the first person beside Paimon that we met in the game)

Kaeya:

I’m down bad I like how he has a laidback personality yet he’s always behind the scenes. Despite the front he puts up, you know he’s doing something else. Kind of wish we get to see more of him but I’m satisfied with what we got

Lisa:

At first I thought she was going to be a flirt she kinda is But I found it funny how she’s has a “I don’t have time with this bs” attitude on her side quest but still have a lot of patience for people's BS at times. I can't exactly remember but I think when she was trying to find all the overdue books, she went "I might as well make it fun" and brought the traveler and Paimon along too.

Jean:

Once I take a step back and think of all the things she had to deal with during this arc, it was definitely something. Abyss Order, The Dragon, The Fatui and trying to keep the citizens calm. She doesn’t get enough credit where it’s due. There's this one line delivery in the English version, I can't exactly point out when but it was about how the Fat couldn't get the upper hand in the situation. I don't know why but her tone of voice was passive aggressive, like she was praying on their downfall.

Diluc:

Mix opinions on him due to him sending us to find four of those ice flowers and I had to spend a hour and thirty minutes trying to find the fourth one. So yeah I have bitter feelings about that Serious note, he's probably my favorite character in Mondstadt if we're not including Amber and Kaeya. Bro is the Batman of the game, they even call him the Dark knight

Abyss Ice Mage:

Yeah I dedicated a whole section to this NPC because Imagine being electrocuted by Lisa and flamed by Diluc within a week. Like bro was put in the wringer (rightfully so). Kinda hoped they appear in the future story so this trend of Ice Mage being comedically abused continues.

My thoughts of the story:

I thought the first archon quest of the story is neat. It has nothing too spectacle as it works as a exposition to the world of Teyvat and it done that job very well.

The twist of knowing where the traveler's sibling is doing was definitely something I never thought would happen. Usually in most stories, they would have the sibling in prison but nope.

Your sibling is doing fine just helping out the big bad organization that is trying to destroy Teyvat.

Now this may be a reach but I like how each character has the freedom of accomplishing their goals by their own way.

First you have the traveler, by default they have the freedom of not being born in Teyvat as they are not from this world. Because of this, they have the ability to use more than one element. Another note is that because the traveler isn't bound by the nation's rules as they wasn't raised in Teyvat, they're always the person with a third option, sort of like a spectator...

is this why they're so quiet? So he can hear the opinions of others before making their own conclusions???

Paimon also has freedom as she doesn't have a parental figure which allows her to tag along, traveler on their quests.

Moving on to the people of Mondstadt, even within the Knights of Favonius who are under strict codes, handle tasks using their own method.

Example of this is the uniforms.

While Amber, Lisa, Kaeya, and Jean share the same motifs as being in the same group, their uniforms are completely different. You know how in magical girl shows, where you have sailor moon, where every soldier wears the same design but different color palette? Then there are other shows like Magica Madoka, where the girls where completely different outfits? The knights of favonius fits the latter, with the exception of the NPCs.

Even the way they handle tasks are different. Amber make sure she does her best to follow the rules but with a bit a flare. Lisa is a tad strict but her approach is passive. Kaeya always tries to find a loophole in the situation to see the whole picture. (Example: Him "staying behind" in the city, to get more information about the Abyss Order). Jean who follows the rules, but know there are times when the rules have to be bend.

Then you have the outliners like Diluc and Venti who are not apart of the knights. Diluc doesn't trust the knights to completely solve the problem so he acts as a vigilante, to pick up the pieces they fail to notice.

Venti who is the god of freedom, decided to not rule his region like the other archons. Instead, he watches it from afar, like the guardian he is, and steps in when the time is right.

All these characters are different in one way or another but they all come together to work together because they all share a common goal. Still even if you do things your own way, you still have to bear the responsibility of your actions.

Venti was too nonchalant in his approach of protecting his region which resulted in a Harbinger, La Signora, taking his Gnosis.

I say he was nonchalant because he was focus on the current problems of his country, which was storm bringer, and not future problems such as the Fatui. Because he wasn't focus on them, he let his guard down when the problem with storm bringer was solved.

I know this may be a stretch and I'm just writing what pops up in my head but that's what I got from the message of the archon quest.

Speaking of La Signora, how the hell did no one saw her attacking Venti and traveler or at the very least heard it? I know Barbara did but you're telling me that only ONE person heard that shit?!

So after talking to Venti it appears that we have to go to every seven regions to find the traveler's siblings. Or in this case, try to convince them to not destroy this world.

The fuck do we look like Pokemon Trainers?... Because I can sing the theme songs if you want

Either way, I had fun with the story. Gamplay-wise... I'm not really much of a gamer myself. I don't go into the mechanics of the game.I play fighting game, barely knowing the combos and just smash buttons to win

However, I can say the gameplay of Genshin is easy to get into. Unfortunately, it's a rpg so I have to farm for materials... yay, I guess. But it's not as bad as Fate Grand Order, Fate grand order farming system is a shit storm especially considering how it's a turn based but doesn't have a auto-farm system.

(for those who want to get into the story of FGO, just look it up on Youtube, do not play the game. )

When exploring, I often hesitate of where I go, because the game doesn't want you to explore said region yet, They will send Paimon telling you "Let's explore that later" only to yeet you off the cliff.

Speaking of Gameplay Paimon, she always setting us up. There was this purple spot, and she told us to blow it away to see what it is, only for it to be the eye of the storm... Its not like it was hard but it was annoying to fight it.

At least she let us control the time though.

Overall, I had fun with the game, I'm looking forward for Liyue and thank you for reading all of this as I was writing as I go so I know there is MANY grammar errors in this review.

Can't wait for Liyue because then I will get to see the character that convinced me to play the game.

there’s a big thread on reddit regarding the way diversity in ridgeside village is handled and how it deals a lot in stereotypes which… it’s a complicated topic but here’s my two cents

i’m inclined to take the mod and its npcs in good faith, even if many of the characters do fall into stereotypes. the game puts a lot of effort into making the villagers seem real and well rounded, with a lot of compelling stories pretty much all the way across the village. i found almost all of the characters people in that thread were bringing up to be extremely likable or at least somewhat interesting. i never got the impression that because some of them were a bit stereotypical that the ways that they’re stereotypical are actively harmful. but i could be wrong about this.

on a personal note, i will say that sean in particular was a character that i really resonated with and he caught some strays in that thread for not having a lot to him other than being trans and having adhd. honestly i think the fact that people read him this way does him a massive disservice, and misses the whole part about his story where his parents accept him and support him for being queer but ultimately were kinda shitty and unsupportive in every other way, which felt so uncomfortably real to me. some parents pat themselves on the back for being accepting of their queer children while still being shitty in other ways, and the way this was portrayed here felt very true to life, at least for me. also, as somebody with adhd, sean’s story regarding it mimicked mine close to exactly. if it was seen as stereotypical to some then it’s probably just because this is the way a lot of people with adhd kinda just are. i personally didn’t feel like we were being looked down on because of the way sean is portrayed, and i am not a monolith for all people with adhd but still.

granted, a lot of the conversation around this was about race, and i don’t really feel as equipped to talk about that. all i can say is i really enjoyed the stories of jeric, corine and ezekiel, carmen and blair, shiro’s family, etc. i thought they had a lot of heart to them and i ended up really loving all of those characters. if these characters were especially stereotypical then i certainly don’t think it did a lot of harm, if any.

i don’t know, i think the conversation about this is valuable and we should think critically about the way diversity is handled in games, but i still think ridgeside’s characters are really strong as a whole and i felt like the diverse cast was fairly well handled, and absolutely well intentioned. i just have a hard time coming down on the mod for it when it does so much right.

Awaaaah! Im doing pretty ok!!! Taking time to answer this as a wind down from Emerald Weapon Ex Brain Soupage. And I’m so glad! ;W; I think I butchered one of those “Get To Know An OC” thingies- uhh… oh [this one] actually! I chopped a lot out and I think added a couple different thingums instead because there was so much to that that it felt overwhelming to try to look at let alone fill out LOL but it was a really good jumping off point uvu;

And!!! Hilariously Chuu was my First XIV Character, so she’s dear to my heart for being the first one- but she very quickly made it known being the WOL even as an AU was something of a Joke (Her character showed great reluctance and even frustration at having to do So Much World Saving, maybe a side-effect of me rushing through MSQ to catch up with my other spouse [Who plays Talia, though they’ve got less time for XIV these days ;0;] and the rest of my friends who were all EndGame already at the time in Shadowbringers fhdjfjsjfs.) So I made…… many alts. Throwing spaghetti at the wall but I have SEVERE side-character/NPC brain and kept making “supporting cast” types =w=; it actually took me like. 3? Alts before making an ACTUAL WoL with my husband (Ishi’li and Kizuna) (as of Right Meow, they’re in post ARR, but we’ve been working on Keathan and Tuesday together because Keathan was… Keathan’s first character in xiv XD so we’ve been jaunting through the story together and experiencing every inch of it so we can pick and choose what The Boys™ get up to when we wanna focus on them x3)

🥰 I knew both speece during at least high school- but I actually knew Keathan as early as Elementary school hehe 😌 tho the speece didn’t proper marry until… i’unno, 2017? (For frustrating legal reasons, I’m not legally married, but. As it goes. Someday we’ll have money to visit the one state that has legal poly marriages. Since managing to make a Co-WoL with my husband I’ve managed to make one other Alt meant to be a Solo-WoL (Mochiie) but I have to really wrinkle my brain to sink time into playing him, since I’m trying to take screenshots throughout the story at what I find to be inspiring beats xD And even still he has an alt-universe where he’s just a side-character for the ‘Main Timeline’ (where there’s a bunch of spaghetti and like 8+ confirmed WoL’s and the Msq entourage looks HILARIOUS in canon, someday I’ll get all the data together and take pictures, but I think it’ll cook what’s left of my brain x’3) [it’s less concrete than anything I’ve posted about before or I’d try to explain it ;v;’ it’s just interesting mostly to see how the story gets stretched to fit around a larger community of heroes than a solo guy shouldering the whole burden lmfao.]

Chapter 5 Stuff

Heyo! So I haven’t done review type stuff in a while and I’ve been rather inactive but I just want to say I LOVE CHAPTER 5??? The lore and the story??? The characters??? Even battle royale I’ve been having a blast these past two seasons. As much as I liked Last Resort and OG Fortnite and didn’t mind the rest of Chapter 4 I haven’t had this much fun and HYPE since Resistance/Vibin’.

For season 1, The Underground vs The Society and all the characters involved have my whole heart. I already miss the bosses and I’m glad Hope is still sticking around to tell us the aftermath and all that. We typically never get actual closure following a storyline, as usually the characters and everything just ends up being abandoned after the season is gone or any information we get is so small. I feel bad for Hope honestly, her first dialogue is “how are you after everything?” And girl how are YOU??

also all the bosses can have me honestly especially montague and valeria

The map is so pretty and I genuinely love every location from both seasons (though Pleasant Piazza has the same effect as Pleasant Park where every time I go there it is most definitely NOT pleasant). like i mentioned in a tag before, i had this thing where every season i would find the smallest connection to it and go “hey epic this season has [blah blah blah] this would be perfect for a skye npc” and IT FINALLY HAPPENED, not only that but THE ENTIRE CREW??? (minus maya they forgot about her :()

I’m so excited to see where the story goes with these guys, we’ve had them as npcs bit by bit with meowscles, kit, brutus, and jules, tntina FINALLY has some relevance and then of course SKYEEEE. Now we just wait for our favorite golden mastermind to make his dramatic entrance :)

mer *hands on shoulders* pls help me get excited about sdv bc I have the game on every single console I own but I have never been able to get into it but I DESPERATELY want to. pls sell the game to me 😭😭😭😭

hmmmmmmmMMM. do you like relaxing nice games that don’t stress you out? if you do don’t play. 💀 HOWEVER, if you like the rewarding satisfaction of arriving to a new town where everyone’s a dick to you and then stalk them into submission until they all universally love you, then have at it, i reckon. 😌 i like piddling around on my farm digging up acorns and pinecorns and smashing open random containers that wash up on the cove’s shores, so the early-game grind of like, setting up the farm so that it made enough money that i could do whatever i wanted without going broke was what kept me going with my second save! also restoring the community gave me something to like, remember to focus on, so if i got bored and dropped the game i still had that to recentre me. 🥹 i treat stardew like i treat animal crossing: new horizons—something fun to wander around in and pick up random things. i’ve only recently gotten the hang of combat, in the skull caverns—that adds something too, because i like trying to find prismatic shards (i’ve only found two so far 😔). but what else? 🧐 you can make mayonnaise and then drink it in front of npcs and they’ll be like “ew” or “what?” and it will make u laugh. 😌 and, of course, you can date!! people make a lot of noise over the dateables. there is an alcoholic called shane who is quite soggy and sad BUT if you get enough hearts with him you will be able to buy blue chickens. they have curly tail feathers!!! i like elliot, he lives on the beach and mopes on a bridge or reads in the library. there’s also a doctor called harvey you can date, he’s into airplanes! sebastian still lives at home with his mum and stepdad, but he rides a motorcycle. there’s emily and haley, they’re sisters—emily is older and likes crystals and mystical woo woo things and haley is mean LMAO, she treats you like DIRT until she starts warming up to you (she likes sunflowers and coconuts and pink cake). leah lives out in the forest and has the cutest house, she always decorates it for the season. 🥺 she’s an artist!!! she does a lot of sculpture. she’s also quite forward LOL. ummmm there’s sam, he’s a cutie, he does tricks on his skateboard. his little brother is my little bestie, i bribe him with snails and cranberry candy. maru is seb’s stepsister and tbh she seems like a true loner in the town—kinda isolated? but she works in the clinic with harvey and she likes using her telescope to see the stars. alex was my first love—he’s a jock, and he’s also mean when you first meet him LMAOOO. he likes summer and the beach and wants to go pro one day. you can give everyone in town gifts and birthday gifts—i like giving stuff to kent, the ptsd-riddled veteran who’s come back from what sounds like a P.O.W camp? he’s married to jodi—they’re sam and vincent’s parents! the mayor is kinda ok. you can find his boxers in his girlfriend’s room and if you wanna you can put them in the summer luau’s giant soup pot and make him really mad lmaooo.

if you have the game on pc, you’ll have the 1.6 update, which is meant to add so much to the game too, like new secrets and stuff. 🥺 im only on my switch so i haven’t been able to play with it but from what i’ve seen and read of the update, starting a new save with 1.6 is a whole new ballgame!!!!

doug & meg actually have the least amount of aus out of these f/os, because i almost always imagine them in either their original universe or real life with me! but there is one that’s developed <3

-castle cr.ashers. it is hit hack-and-slash game castle cr.ashers. i take the place of red knight and meg takes the place of the blue princess. we’re together before the plot starts and they avoid getting kidnapped so we go through everything together <3. eventually we meet doug who has the role of the conehead groom, we defeat him and he begrudgingly joins us, we have an enemies-to-lovers journey, the end <3. i’m very fond of this silly au because doug is very cute when you put her in a situation like this :) also cosmeg adventures!!!!!! <333

we have some!!! our dynamic/development are similar in most of them, it’s mostly messing with the world/circumstances where we meet :) <3

-ff.xv plotless au. this is the main lemprom universe actually. basically all of The Tragedy doesn’t happen because it would BREAK. MY HEART.!!!!!! it’s my fun self-indulgent universe where no one is in immediate peril <3.

-ff.ix au!!!!!!!!!! NOT developed but you can probably tell from my blog that i love combining prom and ff.ix (my icon is him in a colorswapped vivi outfit :>) SO <3. i just think “i wish to be kidnapped right away.” “wh-!! okay!!!” is the PERFECT dynamic introduction so prom takes zidane’s general role and i take dagger’s. <3 :) i like thinking about prom in a tantalus-type group because he’d be a really fun dramatic actor and a very cute thief (“well i guess it’s a good thing *somebody* got the keys to the whole fortress ;)” <- ONE OF MY FAVORITE LINES) <3 i don’t know how the whole story goes but i just love the concept so <333.

-p.okemon :] <3. this one’s also just a concept. i’m a trainer and prom works at a daycare. he has a doduo and a rotom, i have an ampharos and a mime jr. <3 (i’d have to channel old pkmn knowledge to think of full teams but those are the main ones.)

-OH YEAH college au. prom’s a photography major, i’m an illustration major, we meet through art classes and meet up to work on things together and model/pose for each other and ahmfndmfkd <3333. i have a scene pre-relationship where i visit prom’s dorm and go “:0 is that…. a picture of me on your corkboard??” and he has to be like “UH . WELL, THE LIGHTING IN THAT ONE WAS NICE, SO—” HFNDJ <333

CHRENO

SIGH this is gonna be the longest section. since they’re on opposing sides in their og ff.vii universe there are a lot of complexities that come with it, and the aus are mostly playing around with that by getting rid of that element completely……..

-turk!chrome au. this one’s kind of simple it just means they work together instead of against each other, and also the number of possible scenarios goes up a lot because of the close proximity. ciss.nei is also present in this au and her n chrome are both turk partners and qpps!!!!!

-octo.path 2. INITIALLY in this au chrome n reno were both thieves (chrome being dancer class who was also story-wise a thief, reno being actual thief class) who because of Unlikely Situations ended up being traveling partners, but THEN i realized HEY. WHY DIDNT I MAKE RENO A BLACKSNAKE. so he’s a blacksnake now. i don’t know why i didn’t think of that he’z literally a new delsta guy. and there are jester npcs in new delsta!!! so chrome can fit in pretty well without having to change much about him. i really like the vibe of this one but parts of it give me emotionz . you get it. moving on,

-i did think of a b.aldur’s gate 3 au. i guess it’s similar to the scrapped octo.path one.. they’re both rogues (chrome arcane trickster, reno assassin), meet after the tadpole debacle and decide trying to cure it together is the best option. (it might be in-character for reno to be like Eh. if i die i die *walks off alone* but i’m not lettinf him do that they’re doing this together somehow. maybe when they do the tadpole mind-connect thing he sees something interesting from chrome’s past and is like hmmm. i dunno.) this one is mostly for funny dnd moments (they’re my comedy ship after all.) such as chrome being like “uh no i don’t trust you to disarm that i’ll do it.” n reno being like “you sure?” and then chrome crit-failing and them standing there in silence with the blinded status effect. (“…see, i knew that was gonna h-” “don’t say anything.”)

-HFNDJ I JUST REMEMBERED I MADE THEM A GHOST TR.ICK AU. I DONT REMEMBER THE DEAL WITH IT HOLD ON. it was like . chrome died and became a ghost like s.issel……. and found reno dead too, used his ghost tricks to save him and ended up helping him with his shady real life work stuff …… ? it conflicts with regular chrome’s morals but if you mess with it the concept is really fun. ghost partner in crime. mind communication shenanigans. i wanted to draw fake screenshots for them in the art style hfndj i should do that sometime.

-oh i do have a rune f.actory au for them i guess. just in concept though <3. i can’t think of??? many canon rf charas that act similar to reno?? but he would have leon-esque dialogue humor-wise (AGH). and if chrome is the protag, giving him supposed “disliked items” does nothing because he just thinks it’s funny. game mechanic where you CANNOT lower this guy’s affection . i don’t think he would be affiliated with the sechs empire but he would have something mysterious like that going on… and he wouldn’t say much about himself so maybe his heart points would be capped lower ‘til a certain point like doug’s are??? and he wouldn’t tell you what gifts he likes either. there’d be a dialogue branch like “so what do you like, then. :/” “where’s the fun in that? try figuring it out.” and then his reactions to gifts onward would change based on that. (“really? thought you knew me better than that.”) (“hey, you’re gettin’ warmer!”) (“you’re puttin’ a lot of effort into this game. almost like you *care* about givin’ me shit.” “UH, *NO—*”)

dominik gutiérrez. dominik mysterio.

long story short, i saw the segment with dom and his family and him being a whole damn brat to his family and this was born. i’ve never played dominik (as far as i remember) before so just bare with me.

i’ll be playing him as funny, a menace, carefree, and just your typical young wrestler. he has days where he’s frustrated with booking like everyone, he is training like a mad man just to prove he’s more than just his last name. but overall, he’s grateful for every opportunity that he’s given because he always sees it as it could be a lot worse. whenever he’s referencing his family and he’s being bratty dom dom, don’t take it to heart. he’s playing the role, he actually adores his family to death.

connections:

rey mysterio/oscar utiérrez: obviously it’d be dope af to have someone bring in rey! he’s rarely played if ever and we could totally make sweet love plotting and writing wise! especially with him going into the HOF. dominik and his father have your typical father/son relationship. some days are better than others. he loved his dad, he wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world but dominik also inherited his mother’s strong willed and stubbornness. so he’s 75% hard headed and it shows.

aaliyah mysterio/gutiérrez: that big brother/little sister dynamic! i imagine growing up they butted heads a lot as siblings do but at the end of the day they’re extra protective (sometimes overbearingly so ). I’m not sure how someone could bring her in but she had a few wrestling moments so i would just ask.

angie gutiérrez ( NPC ): dominik is a momma’s boy through and through! he’d never admit it out loud though. with rey’s hectic schedule as a wwe superstar, it was mostly angie and her children. dominik grew up watching as his mom kept her composure (in front of the kids) as best she could while raising two children. he holds her in the highest regard.

first love and on again/off again ex-fiancé: as we know irl dom is engaged. for his fiancé’s privacy though, i won’t use her as the fc but instead a more public figure. this can be discussed but a few fc’s i had in mind were selena gomez, alexa demie, or alisha boe. she grew up with dominik so she’s seen him at his most vulnerable. she’s always been there for him in a way that not even his family has seen. they’re families have always been close so when the two became teenagers and started exploring their feelings for one another, of course it just felt natural. however, she and dom have something far from a fairytale romance. when things are good, they’re great… but when they’re not… both of them are still very young and very immature. no matter how big or small the fight is, they always do the most in every single one causing them to be the couple that breaks up and makes up every other week. yep. that couple.

They’re a beach kitty, a bit of a dumbass, and extremely gender-fluid. They use fantasia-carrots from the loporrits to adjust their gender according to how they’re feeling that day.

Autreaux: Duskwight healer and all-around sweetheart. He’s a bit naive and soft-spoken, but has an excellent bedside manner and is very gentle. He has a fairy named Lotus and a carbuncle named Buncle and yes, they’re a little different from your usual SCH/SMN pets. Autreaux is attached at the hip to @hallowed-ffxiv’s Alfonse and…

Giasone (Gia): Not-quite-Voidsent denizen of the 13th and Autreaux’s shard/RPR avatar. Gia is also the son of Revien’s 13th shard. So like, there’s a whole tangled web here.

Unicorn Storm (Uni): In-character, she is Torri’s niece (they call her cousin!) and she is the character I play and stream to my fiancee so she can watch the story. She’s about 10ish and all her characterization/appearance decisions are my fiancees. I post lore with her blessing!

Saidette: A friend from Autreaux’s past and current “Queen” of a group of bandits operating in the Black Shroud. She’s extremely overprotective of her people and loyal to a degree that’s probably not healthy. She’s also a hearer. So there’s that.

Seifer: Yes, the one from FFVIII. He ended up in Eorzea during the Calamity after falling through a hole in Time Compression and landing on Sicard’s head. He’s a bit older and a pirate these days. See also: my current in-game obsession.

❤️ (heart) - who is the most important person to your character? to what lengths would they go to protect this person?

yknow, sometimes when i get a question about a relatively underdeveloped oc, i go, “oh goody! a chance to talk about this aspect of them that exists in my brain but that i don’t get to highlight much!” or “oh goody! a chance to develop their character!” but sometimes i just go “…ya got me there.” and yeah this is one of those times. not that there isn’t an answer per se, but violet isn’t a character that i typically angst or put in extreme situations, and none of her relationships stand out to me as like Special. she has friends and she enjoys their company but they’re not really Serious Life Bond Besties. her parents are chill. she doesn’t have any siblings or super significant extended family relationships.

she does have a girlfriend. their relationship is mostly just cute but it’s definitely the most developed and for that reason in and of itself i’d have to say lizzie is the most important person in her life. i don’t really have a good answer to the lengths she’d go to in order to protect her, because she’s generally loving and i could definitely see her making sacrifices for lizzie, but it’s not the kind of thing where i can point to something that happens in a particular au and say “wow look at how devoted she is”, yknow? sorry to disappoint, i know this whole thing is super lame.

i do want to take this opportunity to generally say that i really do appreciate questions about ocs that i don’t talk about much, even if the answers are lame sometimes. like please do use the list in the pinned and pick a random name i’ve never/rarely mentioned to send asks about, even if it’s just “tell me about this character”. thanks for doing that and sorry to disappoint in this particular case. i promise it won’t always be this disappointing.

❗️(exclamation point) - what was the scariest moment of your character’s life? does it still affect them?

i had to think about this one a bit. like, there are a couple of versions of sebastian for which i definitely know the answer to this, but i usually answer asks based on the modern au versions of my ocs unless there’s a particular reason not to.

my first thought was “when lotte left him”. but tbh even though he’s possessive of her and attracted to her to a degree that even his other romantic and sexual relationships don’t really reach, i think he overwhelmingly felt angry when she left rather than primarily afraid. he was furious, in fact.

so. i think the actual answer to this is the immediate aftermath of his father’s death. he was 15 at the time. although anthony died while sandrine was visiting, she was really living in france and left soon after the funeral, making it clear to her son that she wasn’t going to be his primary caretaker. sebastian was utterly alone except for a few patronizing adults, like the business associate of anthony’s who now legally owned his penthouse apartment and was legally in charge of all the money anthony left to sebastian (i.e. all of anthony’s money) and a mistress of anthony’s who took pity on him. not long after this, sebastian blackmailed them both into letting him do whatever he wanted, but before he figured out exactly how to get these people out of his life, he was scared. in a very short period of time, he went from a carefree lifestyle in which money was no object to a period of confusion in which other people were in charge of his money and his house and he didn’t know if he would be able to use those things however he wanted anymore. he even broke up with his (unimportant npc) girlfriend at the time because he found himself on unstable ground, and instead of going to his girlfriend for emotional support like a normal person, he saw the instability as weakness that made him vulnerable and her difficult to control.

so. yeah. i really don’t have any sympathy for sebastian but he is in fact capable of feeling fear and grief. the incident as a whole still affects him for sure, and to an extent he’s motivated to never be in that kind of situation again, but the fear aspect in particular didn’t have the most lasting effect on him because he found a solution to that problem pretty quickly.

i have the opposite of that “everyone is an npc” mentality people have embraced where i’m instead like. the person next to me in line has someone they can’t wait to go home to, the person picking up their mail has felt devastation before, everyone in this grocery store is doing their sunday shopping, maybe the person that just honked at me is having the worst day of their life, my neighbor has doctors appointments and favorite foods and a song they can’t stand to hear anymore… you are all fully realized complex people and that is overwhelming me on a spiritual level…

Hey, y'all want some gods?

If you do, you're in luck, my friend. I have developed a whole new fictional pantheon, unique to Modern America. I'm gonna list them below, but the best part is, these guys are free to use however you please: drawings or comics (NOT PORN), NPCs in your games, characters in books or fanfic, whatever you want. No credit is necessary, but you do have to show me whatever you use them for. I want to see what cool things you do!

Phobia = the enby goddess of Depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. They can cause these problems, but they might help you solve them too if you catch them in a rare good mood.  

Aggra = Anger and violence and toxic strength, she’s the goddess of war, riots, bigots, and stuff like that. Looks like a Karen. 

Glitch = the shapeshifting, genderfluid trickster goddess/god of memes, internet trolls, petty criminals, random weird stuff, and pranksters. VERY capricious and prone to dragging people down Internet rabbit holes. Usually has long curly red hair. 

Mythos = the god of stories, and by extension, fandoms and fan creations about those stories, whether that’s books, movies, TV, or RPGs. He looks a bit like Mithros from Tortall, but he's very friendly and sweet and always decked out in fandom merch.

Curio/Corrupta = The goddess of pollution and the weird mutations and diseases caused by it. She doesn’t really mean any harm, she doesn’t realize that she’s doing harm anyway, she’s a mad scientist at heart and she’s mostly just treating the environment as her science playground. She's also, in her alternate form as Curio, the goddess of scientific discovery, knowledge, curiosity and learning new things. Stained lab coat, wild curly hair, and a bionic eye. 

Cami = the goddess of confidence and self-expression, mostly through art and clothes. She’s slightly crazy and out of control, but in a fun way. She’s also the patron goddess of alternative fashion and beautiful things, and just beauty in general. She has purple bobbed hair and elaborate clown-style makeup most of the time. 

Foundryn = the protector goddess of animals and children, especially lost or abandoned animals and children, including kids who have parents but those parents are neglectful or abusive. She’ll sometimes go undercover as a homeless shelter worker or animal shelter worker to help where she can. She's the sensible mom friend of the pantheon. 

The Rainbow Wizard = The patron god of American queer people, his favorite form is a very sparkly rainbow-robed wizard with purple eyes and a gold crown, hence the name. 

The Old Woman = she doesn’t have a name other than that, she’s the death and fate and afterlife goddess. She has eyes all over her body and she watches people all the time, calculating what sort of afterlife she’ll give them. 

The Genres = Like the Muses, only they’re personifications of each modern music genre and also represent the music industry. They’re always bickering about who’s better. 

Glut = the god of abundance and plenty and wealth. But also fast food, waste, unequal wealth distribution, and malnourishment from empty calories. 

Beau = Cami's twin brother. God of love, all different types, from romantic to platonic, from unconditional healthy love to borderline obsession. He's a very tall, slightly muscled guy with a bright yellow curly undercut and a sparkly white Elvis suit encrusted with pink and red heart shaped rhinestones. He also wears heart shaped sunglasses. 

Stadiya = the goddess of competitions, everything from team sports to video games to competitive reality shows. 

The Wayfinder = The patron god of travel and immigrants, especially refugees and everyone else who comes to the US trying for a better life. Tends to have a walking stick and wear simple clothes and worn-out shoes. 

Viva = the goddess of justice, revolution both internal and external, facing uncomfortable truths, and standing up for what you believe in. Likes cheesy motivational quotes, but can also be very helpful. 

Glamoro = The very flamboyant god of artists and performers, all kinds, not just musicians. He does work closely with the Genres, but also is the god of both stage and screen actors, circus arts people, sculptors, painters, dancers, et cetera. Has an annoying habit of shouting lines and stage directions during normal conversations. Never goes anywhere without his top hat, looks a bit like a circus ringmaster.

Somna = The shapeshifting enby god of sleep and dreams. Favorite form is a pulsing nimbus of shadows.
