My thoughts after seeing Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama
Rama and Lakshman are the best brothers ever (also Rama literally killed multiple demons with divine weapons as a teenager and that’s honestly more than I accomplished at 15)
Sita has Disney Princess powers
“I will cleave your filthy brain in two!” is not a line I expected to hear from a PG rated movie
Bharata is underrated
Surpanakha needs therapy (and a nose job)
Why is Maricha kinda- 😏
Ravana seriously needs to keep it in his pants (I was mentally shaking his shoulders and yelling “when will you learn that your actions have consequences!?” at him the entire time)
Rama furiously declaring he’ll hunt Ravana to the ends of the universe and then Lakshman just casually telling him to calm down was way funnier than it had any right to be
RIP Jatayu
The sentient mountain turning out to be a demigod literally felt like an NPC side quest in a fantasy RPG
Hanuman is the GOAT
I love how Jambavan just randomly drops the bombshell on Hanuman that he has divine powers, also his voice is weirdly amusing
Hanuman gets swallowed by a sea serpent, then promptly chops the thing up into sushi
Ravana’s giving off vaguely yandere vibes and I’m all here for it
Hanuman introducing himself to Sita with a beautiful song legit warmed my heart so much, he’s so wholesome
Ravana filing his nails while listening to Hanuman’s speech only to be like “kill him” was darkly hilarious
“alright, but set fire to his tail first, then let him go home” Ravana WTH-
Then Hanuman subsequently commits arson and burns down half the city of Lanka (cue the theme from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia)
I have only known Vibhishana for a minute and a half but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself /j
Bridge building montage woohooo
Why do all the rakshasas sound either animalistic or flamboyant?
Speaking of which, there’s no way Indrajit is straight, no man who wears indigo eyeshadow, a crop top, no trousers and knee high boots isn’t at least a little bit bent
“Oh, what a nuisance! This is bothering me!” Ah yes, just how I’d describe being in the middle of a battle between literal demons and very floofy monkeys
Rama’s speech about respecting life was genuinely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Kumbhakarna is the best boi
Kumbhakarna is the best round sleepy boi in the history of everything
His sons were absolute badasses and their deaths made me sad (not at all helped by his heartbroken expression when he found out)
I love how it literally took being waterboarded to wake up this giant
Vibhishana just casually mentioning to Rama that Kumbhakarna would become immortal after sleeping for SIX WHOLE MONTHS
Literally everything about Kumbhakarna is immensely endearing to me in a way I cannot explain, I just wanna smoosh his cheeks and feed him strawberry mochi, also he so ROUND
Kumbhakarna, don’t eat the Vanaras ffs
Kumbhakarna getting increasingly frustrated by the flying demons buzzing around him like mosquitoes should become a meme/reaction gif, purely because of how he yells “yOu ArE aNnOyInG mE!” at them
*two strikes of a divine sword later* NUUUUU MY BABYYYYY 😭
“I wish I’d known him as a friend, Vibhishana” that’s it, happy AU where everybody lives and they’re all besties let’s gooooo *crying inside*
The way Ravana’s voice quakes when he hears he’s now sans a brother 🥺
Indrajit is horrible but I love him
HANUMAN JUST AIRLIFTED A FUCKING MOUNTAIN HOLY SMOKES-
Omgggg an aerial battle this is so cool- INDRAJIT NOOOOO
RAVANA WHERE DID YOU GET AN AEROPLANE???
Yikes, Ravana, you’re really laying on the body horror here 😳
Awww Rama and Sita are together again yayyyy
Yasssss happy ending we love to see it!
Why are they flying to the moon in a glittering gold helicopter???
Basically, I love this movie and everything about it, especially Kumbhakarna 💞
(Also for the record I mean absolutely no disrespect by any of this)

Surpanakha: So, what's your type?
Rama: I have a wife.
Surpanakha: So what's your type, then?
Rama: My wife.
Surpanakha: And what does she look like?
Rama: She looks like my wife.
Surpanakha: So what would you rate me out of 10?
Rama: Umm, I can't do that.
Surpanakha: Can't rate me at all?
Rama: I can't rate you at all.
Surpanakha: What would you rate your wife out of 10?
Rama: She broke my scale.
Rama: Because she's so beautiful.

Hey Guys I made this Story that's based on The Ancient Indian Tale of Prince Rama and Princess Sita and the Ten Headed Demon Ravanna but I made it different with the Characters like: Prince Mordecai and Princess Samantha, Ravanna, Hanuman, Bharata, Indrajit, Manthara, Surpanakha, Queen Kaikeyi (Prince Mordecai's Jealous Stepmother)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE STORY OF MORDECAI AND SAMANTHA:
Once upon a time, in the magnificent kingdom of Ayodhya, there lived a noble prince named Mordecai, beloved by all for his wisdom, courage, and kindness. He was the heir to the throne, destined to rule alongside his beloved wife, Princess Samantha, a woman of unparalleled beauty, grace, and compassion. Their love was the envy of all who beheld it, and their kingdom flourished under their benevolent rule.
However, their happiness was not to last, for lurking in the shadows was the wicked ten-headed demon, Ravanna, whose heart burned with jealousy and malice. Ravanna coveted Princess Samantha for himself, and he plotted to separate her from Prince Mordecai and claim her as his own.
Mordecai: "My dear Samantha, our love is like the eternal flame, burning bright amidst the darkness. Fear not, for I shall always protect you, my beloved."
Samantha: "Oh Mordecai, my heart sings with joy at your words. Together, we shall overcome any obstacle that dares to challenge our love."
One fateful day, as Prince Mordecai and Princess Samantha were taking a leisurely stroll through the enchanted forest that surrounded their kingdom, they came across a wounded deer lying in agony. Princess Samantha's compassionate heart was moved with pity, and she beseeched Prince Mordecai to help the poor creature.
Samantha: "Mordecai, look! A wounded deer lies in distress. Please, we must help it."
Mordecai: "Fear not, my dear Samantha. I shall use my magic to create a protective circle around you. As long as you stay within its bounds, no harm shall befall you."
That night, as Princess Samantha rested within the safety of the magic circle, she heard a terrible cry echoing through the forest. Believing it to be her beloved Mordecai in grave danger, she rushed to his aid, unaware of the treacherous trap that awaited her.
Samantha: "Mordecai! I hear cries of distress! I must go to him at once!"
Mordecai: "No, Samantha! Stay within the circle! It is not safe!"
But it was too late. Ravanna, with his dark magic and deceitful wiles, had disguised himself as Prince Mordecai and lured Princess Samantha out of the protective circle. Seizing her in his powerful grasp, Ravanna vanished into the depths of the forest, leaving behind naught but despair and heartache.
Ravanna: "Foolish princess, to trust in the illusion of safety. Now you are mine, and no one shall stand in my way."
Prince Mordecai, upon discovering his beloved Samantha missing, was consumed with grief and fury. Determined to rescue her from the clutches of the vile Ravanna, he embarked on a perilous journey, aided by his loyal companions, including the mighty monkey warrior Hanuman, the valiant prince Bharata, and the wise sage Vishwamitra.
Hanuman: "Fear not, Prince Mordecai, for I shall lend you my strength and my cunning. Together, we shall vanquish the foul demon Ravanna and rescue Princess Samantha from his grasp."
Bharata: "My lord, I pledge my sword and my loyalty to your cause. Let us march forth and bring justice to the wicked."
Vishwamitra: "Prince Mordecai, the path ahead is fraught with danger, but with courage and determination, you shall prevail. Trust in your heart, and victory shall be yours."
And so, Prince Mordecai and his companions embarked on a perilous quest, braving treacherous jungles, raging rivers, and dark caverns in their relentless pursuit of Ravanna and his captive, Princess Samantha.
Along the way, they encountered many trials and tribulations, including battles with Ravanna's fearsome minions, such as his son Indrajit, the demoness Surpanakha, and the wicked maid Manthara, who sought to thwart their noble quest at every turn.
Indrajit: "You dare to oppose my father, Ravanna? Prepare to face the wrath of Indrajit, the mighty warrior prince!"
Surpanakha: "Ah, Prince Mordecai, how handsome you are! Why waste your time on that insignificant princess when you could have a powerful demoness like me at your side?"
Manthara: "Princess Samantha is a threat to my mistress's ambitions. I shall do everything in my power to ensure that she remains in Ravanna's clutches forever."
But through courage, perseverance, and the power of their unwavering love, Prince Mordecai and his companions overcame every obstacle that stood in their way, drawing ever closer to their ultimate goal of rescuing Princess Samantha from the clutches of Ravanna.
At long last, after a fierce and epic battle that shook the very foundations of the earth, Prince Mordecai confronted Ravanna in his fortress atop the towering mountain of Lanka, where Princess Samantha was held captive.
Mordecai: "Ravanna, your reign of terror ends here and now! Release Princess Samantha, or face the wrath of a righteous prince!"
Ravanna: "Foolish mortal, you dare to challenge me? I am Ravanna, the Lord of Lanka, the most powerful demon in all the realms! You are no match for my might!"
But Prince Mordecai, fueled by his love for Princess Samantha and the strength of his noble heart, fought with a courage and determination that knew no bounds. With the aid of his allies and the blessings of the gods themselves, he clashed with Ravanna in a battle that shook the heavens and the earth.
In the end, it was not the strength of arms or the power of magic that determined the outcome, but the purity of Prince Mordecai's love and the righteousness of his cause. With a final, mighty blow, he vanquished Ravanna and rescued Princess Samantha from the darkness that had ensnared her.
Mordecai: "Samantha, my beloved! Are you hurt? Fear not, for you are safe now, and I shall never let harm befall you again."
Samantha: "Mordecai, my hero! Oh, how I have longed for this moment! With you by my side, I fear nothing, for our love is stronger than any magic or malice in the world."
And so, Prince Mordecai and Princess Samantha returned triumphantly to their kingdom of Ayodhya, where they were greeted with jubilation and celebration by their grateful subjects. Their love had been tested and proven true, and together, they ruled wisely and justly for many years to come, a shining beacon of hope and inspiration to all who beheld them.
THE END!!
I Hope you guys liked it 😊🥰

yk what's funny?
the way most of the time i open Instagram comment section and see "some" men saying absolute nasty things about women and cursing them out calling them r#nd or whatnot.
when i go to the Instagram profile of these men almost all of them have "sanaatani" "hindu" "har har mahadev" in their bio or posts about Krishna or Shiv ji.
now that's funny because since when was calling women names and cursing them ever was something sanaatan dharm taught? since when did cursing and saying nasty thing about a woman become okay? and how dare u call ur self anything even close to being a true sanaatani when u act like disgusting monster.
and obviously their favourite dialouge, "we respect women not b*tches" or "women of thise time we're goddesses today's women are b*tches" ??? sir from Surpanakha to Putna existed then as well. ladies like Manthra existed then as well but never once in my life did i ever see or hear about Krishna cursing out Putna or Ram ji cursing out Manthra or Surpanakha?
stop making excuses and accept the fact that u are NOT a sanaatani rather u are just a women hating being filled with hatred and disgusting and nasty thoughts and u too shall get results of ur karma.

IDK if you've answered this before, but could you list the fics with those memorable lines you mentioned in your post? I tried Google but it just kept directing me back to your post
I have never answered this but I was able to locate the fics that I mentioned in that post :
True aim by Artemiswrites (Kate bishop/Yelena Belova) - “aim true kate bishop, and so she does”
a voice that came from you and me by sten06 (Kate bishop/ Yelena belova)- “say hello to my fireflies for me”
The Way the Wind Blows by surpanakha (Sister Beatrice/Ava Silva)-“Promise me that when you see me and your husband in heaven, it’s me you’re going to run to.”

For the character asks: 1,2,3,4,5,6,12,13,17,18,19,20,27,30 for Lakshmana
1. My first impression of them
I was very young when I first read/watched it, but I do remember immediately liking him as the opposite of Rama, and the audience's stand-in.
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)
I think from the beginning, as his anger on his brother's behalf felt so validating.
3. A song that reminds me of them
No songs, really, other than tunes from 1987 Ramayana.
4. How many people I ship them with
Urmila, Indrajit, Angada... so at least three.
5. My favorite ship of them
Lakshmana/Urmila, despite the popularity of Lakshmana/Indrajit.
6. My least favorite ship of them
Lakshmana/Surpanakha
12. Sexuality hc!
Bi!
13. Your favorite friendship they have
Angada -- their friendship when Lakshmana is ready to destroy Sugriva, is touching, and he names his first son after him.
17. What do you think their first word was?
It's canon that Lakshmana would cry as a baby unless he was placed next to Rama, so it was most likely 'Bhaiyya' or the equivalent of 'Elder brother'
18. How do you think they were as a kid? (Like, were they shy, noisy, wild, etc)
I picture him as being very rebellious and wild, ready to pick a fight over anything, and in adulthood, channeling that into devotion to his elder brother.
19. The most random ship you've seen people have with them
Lakshmana/Indrajit came out of nowhere for me, but I see the appeal of it.
20. A weird headcanon
His and Shatrughna's relationship never really recovered from the fact that Lakshmana was prepared to kill his own twin if he sided with Bharata.
27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet?
Arun Govil (famous for playing Rama in DD Ramayana) actually played Lakshmana in a 1997 film, so getting Sunil Lahri!Lakshmana to meet his doppelganger who looks like his elder brother would be epic.
30. The funniest scene they had?
Lakshmana climbing a tree and preparing to shoot Bharata while Rama is shouting from below for him to not commit fratricide, again, why has no adaptation added this detail of hilarity?

Just finished reading The Thread Between Us by surpanakha on ao3. I just love how Ava played Ariel in The Little Mermaid in that universe because it’s a nice little connection knowing Lorena Andrea is going to be starring in the upcoming live action movie. 🥰
