After the meeting with Okafor, Pearl walks alongside Rick and says she’ll end him if he refers to them as 'we' again. And as their conversation continued, with some mistrust between them, this was a scene that let Lesley-Ann Brandt's talent shine. 👏🏽 Later, Pearl also drops some pivotal information when Rick learns that the secrets he's been trying to keep about himself and his family aren't so secret to Okafor😬...

So as they walk, Pearl stops and explains how she got here, giving some insight into her backstory and character. Then she says she knows why Rick’s done all the intense things he’s done like trying to escape and cutting off his hand. She says it’s the same reason she did what she did, declaring “There’s someone you love out there.” And ding ding ding. She’s right on the money. 👌🏽

I like how characters, without even knowing about Richonne, can tell that Rick’s in love - like Pearl saying there’s someone he loves in this moment and Negan in the season 7 finale telling Rick, "You just lost somebody important to you."

When Pearl brings up the someone that Rick loves, Rick’s response is interesting as he looks away like he's thinking 'I don’t want to talk about this with anyone but the portraitist.'

Pearl says she’s accepted that she won’t ever see her person again because she knows her person doesn’t want her to die. It’s interesting because Michonne of course feels the same about not wanting Rick to do anything here that could lead him to die.

But I think Rick also knows the way Michonne believes they have to keep fighting the fight no matter the numbers or odds. So just as Pearl stopped trying to escape cuz her person would want that, Rick has to keep trying to fight and break free because Michonne would want that for him. 

As the convo continues, Pearl says this is all she has left and the life she had before is all gone. Which RIP to your life before, Pearl, but Rick’s family is still out there so y’all are not the same. But Pearl thinks they are the same as she tells Rick, “This is all you have left too.”

Then Pearl seems to get a little too personal when saying, “The person you are trying to get back to…” because Rick cuts her off quick and is playing no games in tone nor facial expression when he looks at Pearl and says “Hey, she’s not gone.”

I love that he says this with so much conviction, refusing to entertain anything else cuz they’re the ones who live.

Rick believes in Michonne so much. He knows she’s a true survivor and that she’s still out there. Both Rick and Michonne can feel each other out there. 

Then, more vulnerably but still with conviction Rick says, “They’re not gone.” It’s vulnerable because it’s letting Pearl know he’s missing his love and someone else too - his daughter. 🥺

Then I love the writing and Lesley's delivery of Pearl saying “She isn’t. They aren’t. We are.” as Rick looks like he’s more freshly taking in that perspective.

It reminds me of Rick’s final TWD ep when Sasha tells him his family isn’t lost after he says he needs to find them. In some ways, his family is the one who needs to find him now cuz he’s the one who's gone. But I don’t think Rick considered a scenario where they’d be looking for him like he’s looking to get back to them. 

Rick had found solace in telling himself his family is still out there and they’re not gone but in this moment he’s hit with the fact that to his family he is gone. His family can’t say with as much conviction ‘he’s not gone’ cuz they genuinely don’t know. And that’s gotta be painful for Rick to have to think about this from the lens that he’s likely just gone to them.

Even tho fortunately he’ll learn that his wife, daughter, and even the son he didn’t know he had were still believing he wasn’t gone forever. And while he was gone for years, he was never forgotten by them.

Also, the word 'gone' is interesting because it can also be like a figurative 'gone.' In losing every connection that made him who he is, old Rick is gone in a sense.

And so to stop being gone to his family, Rick hatches a plan for escape number 5, and this time he wants to make the CRM think he’s gone…onto glory.

Rick jogs and tells Michonne more about the CRM alliance. He says, “The world is so much bigger than we knew, Michonne. So much better and so much worse.” And I love that he’s still finding ways to go through this expanding world with her.

As his world expands, it's interesting because he’s acknowledging that the world is bigger, better, and worse and yet it still mostly feels like a confined and suffocating place for him because he’s not with her.

Beale joins Rick on the bench and Rick quickly salutes him, playing the part of a fully conformed soldier. Beale reveals Okafor bombed 4,000 marines at Lincoln Field and how he switched sides. Rick says he did too in a way. Beale basically says that they probably would have just killed Rick but Okafor made a compelling argument on his behalf.

In their convo, Beale looks into Rick's eyes and asks if Okafor is up to something and he and Rick say no at the same time. Rick then repeats no. Beale also asks how Rick survived and he says sacrifice. Rick on a larger scale and a more literal scale really did survive by sacrifice. When he sacrificed himself on that bridge it led him to wash ashore near Jadis and get the medical care he needed, so sacrifice really is why he's alive.

Beale acknowledges how Rick tried to escape four times and asks if he’s here now because he wants to kill or die or try to escape again. I like Rick looking at Beale and saying “Look in my eyes, sir. You tell me.”

Beale looks in his eyes and seems satisfied for the moment so he says he’s just gonna sit here and enjoy the view with Rick. And Rick sorta looks bummed because his bench time is where he gets to just have some alone time and more than likely daydream about Michonne in pretty outfits. 😋

Rick’s letter continues and he tells Michonne how everything was about secrets in this place but all he cared about was holding onto his secrets. Those secrets entailing where he’s from and who he’s lost. And again I like how Rick is telling Michonne all the CRM’s secrets. 😊

So as Rick maps out his fifth escape plan looking fine as can be in different black fits - and yes I’m going to make note of that often 😋 - we see him putting the plan together interspersed with playing poker with Pearl and winning. He’s so determined and I love to see it.

Then Rick pays a visit to Esteban at an idyllic park. Seeing the park makes me think this is part of why one of Rick’s alternate universes with Michonne is them falling in love at a park. I also noticed there’s people with signs that say ‘CRM transparency now’ planting the seed that people are already itching to see a change in the CRM.

Rick and Esteban hug and have a friendly moment before sitting down so that Rick can ask for his insider info to help with his escape. Rick says he needs Esteban to tell him where a certain tunnel leads and Esteban is hesitant but Rick earnestly says “I have to keep trying. I’m getting there. I’m getting home.” And the way he says that just hits my heart. He’s still so adamant to not give up on being back with his family.

And then my heart breaks to hear Rick say “Or I’m dying. That’s it.” For Rick, there’s no option to live without them so he either breaks free or literally dies trying. If he can't gain his family back he's willing to lose his life. 😢

Esteban says he can’t tell him anything but still finds a way to tell Rick everything he needs to know by telling him what he specifically can’t tell him and I really love seeing Rick’s small smile when he realizes Esteban is helping him. There’s a moment where he has this tiny little smile that reminds me so much of RJ. It’s the cutest.

Esteban says another thing he’d tell Rick is that he gets why he’s doing what he’s doing as he seemingly looks back at the girl he’s met within the Civic Republic. Esteban gets that when you find someone you love, you can’t just let them go.

I really appreciate Esteban telling Rick he doesn’t have to die and then adamantly urging him not to die. And Rick smiles again feeling like he’s now closer than ever to getting home. It was nice to see Rick have a friend and get a win.

So then Rick continues finalizing his plan and that moment when he puts on all his gear and dog tags in the mirror…fine all the time, what can I say. ❤️‍🔥

Rick lays out the plan to Michonne of how he aimed to fake his death with a walker body. He says, “There’s no escape for the living. So I had to make sure they thought I was dead.” 

Then during an outing with the CRM, Rick comes so close to (hotly) escaping but a walker approaches and he has to take multiple out before seeing a little screaming girl. Rick is ticked that this has all put a wrench in his plan, but he knows he has to save the little girl.

So he runs to take out the walkers, even tho I notice he does have a small moment of debating whether to just continue with his plan. But of course, he’s a good man so he helps the girl. I did observe he’s not as parental as he normally is with little kids like Judith, Sophia, etc., and it just reminds me he’s had to be so far removed from that dad side of himself. 

When he struggles to take down a walker, Pearl takes care of the rest and says she saw the whole thing. The little girl says Rick killed her mommy and Pearl assures that Rick is a good man and they’re from a good place. Pearl says they’re all going to go back but you can just see in Rick’s watery eyes how much he is itching to follow through with his escape plan. He’s so close.

He reminds Pearl that she said to ask for help and so now he’s asking for her help in letting him just slip away and get out of here. But Pearl firmly says “I am helping you. He would have found you and whoever you’re running to. He knows about you Grimes.”

I like the suspense in the way that’s worded as Rick is hit with the gut punch that while he thought he’d been holding onto his secrets, Okafor actually knows about the most important people to him.

Rick's expression makes it clear this is news he feels he has to deal with urgently. Pearl says come on and Rick grabs his helmet with a scowl as he knows he can’t leave just yet because he needs to know exactly what Okafor knows. He also needs Okafor to know exactly who he’s dealing with.

And y’all, this next excellently acted moment is where Okafor more officially gets to meet the famous Rick Grimes - the man, the myth, the legend, and most of all the fiercely protective husband and father. 😌👌🏽

It would be very hard to convince me now that there wasn't something between Taekook at some point, and it certainly wouldn't all be undone by a clearly romantic something between Jungkook and a girl. You definitely would not be able to convince me that what they did was "for show". Their relationship is authentic no matter what the nature of that relationship is. I've been a Taekooker for a long time now and I think I'm older than the average here. I not only have plenty of receipts for my belief in Taekook, I have context for all of those receipts because I was here when it happened. I was much more active on Twitter when the tattoo artist "scandal" happened, and I actually got tagged with a few of my TK friends by the first shady accounts trying to spread it. When I think back on that time, I just feel bad for everyone involved. Even the tattoo studio staff, who were harassed mercilessly and had their shop vandalized. That had much bigger impact than the recent video, but it's funny because when I saw the convo around that I was just thinking I've already seen him back hugging a woman. If that was enough to debunk Taekook I would have bailed in 2019. The intention of this rumor was exactly the same as well. It follows the same pattern as every other. Post something with no context and that's actually not proof of anything, but spin some wild stories about it. It's very easy with interactions between a man and a woman. Every person I see still posting it everywhere says the woman in the video is his pregnant gf. That's obviously not true. People freaked out because they were told more was coming. That didn't happen. I agree with a lot of your second paragraph. I don't put more weight on interactions just because they're between a man and a woman. I do think it's weird that a few seconds without any context would be enough to question just because it is a man and a woman. I've had plenty of interactions like that with male friends I had no romantic feelings about. Thoughts on these random Agent 4 headcanons plus minor 8 and 3 headcanons

I imagine that 4 is from some idk far away island or sum where all the inkfish been chillin for years, I mean there’s gotta be some group of squids and octos didn’t participate in the great turf war right. And overtime they developed a pretty chill society idk I imagine it’s like Octavian society but more…? Community like?? Idk think like every chill farming game, think animal crossing vibes and they def developed their own language which is just a mix of octarian and inkish or whatever the squids be speakin. They’re def not as tech heavy over there cuz they just aren’t I guess but whatever to that I think 4 is a little freak (with love) they don’t talk a lot, they’re very emotive tho, they def stare off a lot, type to stare at the water and sand because pretty patterns. Just a little cryptid, def got nothin in their head except galon tipton music, they speak every now and then, sometimes just to catch people off guard, ofc they’re a little more talkative with people their comfy with(aussie core)

Middlepaw info dump cuz I’m bored. No, this will not be well organized. I’m tired and don’t have the energy to organize and also just remembered I gotta do Duolingo, but really don’t wanna… so if I mysteriously disappear, you know why. Anyways, sorry if this is rambly and/or doesn’t make any sense… I may or may not fix it later if needed

- They crave attention because they often don’t recieve a lot of it. Because they haven’t recieved much of it, tho, they aren’t too great at interacting with others… so instead of just talking to cats to get attention, they do some interesting things. Example: approaching Milkwail (quitedisasterous’ character. I absolutely love Milkwail <33) in hopes of being punted because being punted is a form of attention and any attention is good attention (spoiler: this plan failed, but in the best way possible)

- When they do get attention, they have no clue what to do with it. Social situations are not their specialty

- To make up for the lack of interacting with cats, they tend to interact with inanimate objects instead. Rocks, sticks, leaves, whatever. They’ll also just talk to nothing while staring off into the void of time and space. They have like full on convos like this and have specific objects that are their close friends. They tend to keep these ones stashed in hiding places around the territory so that others don’t accidentally mess with them or something not realizing that they have importance. (one of Middlepaw’s favorites is their emotional support shedded snake skin named Jerry. Why is it named Jerry? Cuz I said so. I really don’t know. They keep Jerry extra well hidden compared to the others)

- Middlepaw is very nonconfrontational. For example, if someone were to find one of their object friends and messed with it in some way, they wouldn’t be happy about it, but wouldn’t do anything. They’d probably just watch from a distance and be really tense the whole time and then go find it a new hiding spot the moment the cat left (btw, by “not happy,” I mean like worried, not mad. They understand that these are just objects to everyone else and don’t blame others for not seeing these things the same way they do)

- They talk to themselves and also objects and stuff and they do so both out loud and in their head, so sometimes they mix the two up… meaning they’ll occasionally talk to a cat and accidentally say things in their head and just be staring at the cat waiting for a response to something they never actually said

- They did have a family (parents and two siblings), but they just kinda disappeared one day. I’m still working out the details on this, kinda wanna wait until more canon lore about Mommyclan history comes out before I set the specifics in stone. Middlepaw has a vague idea of what happened to them, but that’s probably about the most info anyone has. Middlepaw also just kinda tried to pretend nothing had happened. This is all subject to change tho. I’ll prob make another post about this once I solidify the details and stuff. Or maybe not, idk. We’ll see

- They’re 10 moons old

Not after but during: Riri and a stranger that was also in the arena decided to climb up a tree and while they were having a lovely convo her grandpa shot the guy in the neck, he collapsed to the ground and she spotted grandpa and her cousin in a bush, gpa reloading his crossbow, miriam told her she should run and neither of them were expecting Riri to be so fucking fast but she easily outran them and ended up finding an entrance to one of the lounges and Karened her way in

Gus also so happened to be in the same lounge so they hung out until Miriam came up and told Riri that her and their grandpa didn’t think she’d run so fast and that the chase was going to be more fun than it ended up being since they lost her like,, immediately. Gus showed her a photo of him and Riri’s gpa shaking hands and holding a written agreement that guaranteed her safety and that was enough to convince Riri to go back into the hunting arena and fight her grandpa.

She got some good hits in, most importantly she was having fun, but grandpa won and took her out with a war-pick to the gut. He did hold up his end of the agreement tho and gave her a health potion (i got Elaine to roll a charisma check just to see if he’d help her off the ground and she passed) he told her he was impressed and that she’s not a coward like his son. Positive interaction with grandpa achieved.

After they escaped the arena they went back to the mansion cause they wanted to get Pi as well as Wheeler, they had a brief convo with Emerick, since Raven was interested in what the fuck was going on with her photos including a photo of Elijah with a bug drawn over his head and “not normal” (which jasper and I think about so much), he gave them the rundown about him being a parasite and Elijah’s still in there but he’s not in control and his is in the midst of dying.

Riri left a letter behind

And then just over a week after coming back to the mortal plane they found Miriam on Bimmy Juffett’s boat, had to explain to her Why they’d be mad at her (that’s another thing when Miriam found Riri in the lounge she was ready to receive some unkind words but Riri said “why would I be mad” lmao). They decided not to send her back after they received a letter from grandpa that said Miriam was in a state when she left, they were ok guests, he knows Wheeler is with them and won’t tell her dad they kidnapped her if they can be friendly, and then asked Raven if she’d like to read his manuscript,

The manuscript was of course Twilight fanfiction but now the vampires are badass and kill people and the werewolves are more accurate and Bella dies in the third chapter

Or whatever type of conversation they’d have. I imagine he’d be supportive of her being happy and not alone though. And what about before marrying Kate or popping out beebs? Do they have nostalgic convos about Yelena imagining having all of these things with Natasha and how different it is from what she has now? Not in a bad comparison way, more like a This Is Different And Im Happy But I Can’t Help But Imagine How It Would’ve Been way. i definitely dont't think yelena told anyone about kate. everyone in her life found out about her apparently being in this pretty steady relationship when kate hit "share" on her instagram. and she felt HORRIBLE about it, mostly because of alexei. he's super important to her and having to find out that yelena has been with someone else for some time now in that way was rough. yelena had a lot of explaining to do.

i do think she leans on him a lot as she tries to navigate what her life looks like moving forward after the whole kate bomb explodes. so yeah, there'd be some pretty heartfelt conversations about the future and big decisions between the two of them. for many years natasha was her best friend so getting to talk to her dad about all this massive things is as close as it's going to get to that best friend that's now gone.

and lol...there's only so many times i can say 'its complicated' about the kids before it gets annoying so here's some spoilers whatever. they do get married. HUGE wedding. star studded event. think the sofia richie wedding this past week lol. A Whole Thing. the world was watching. yelena hates it but she's marrying kate so it is what is is. comes with the territory. BUTTTTTTTT someone fucks up and they get divorced about a year later. womp womp. they don't have kids while they're married tho but they definitely do get to have kids so 👀👀👀 IT'S A JOURNEY PEOPLEEEEE

Kybel or Antsa\Iz?

I'm in a real dilemma over this tbh.

As a queer woman who CRAVES sapphic content on screen (which is still so very rare), I wish I'd be rooting hard for Anatsa and Isobel. And I feel like I could've done that, had the show put in any effort to actually develop the pairing on screen.

But so far, they haven't.

They introduced Anatsa as a one-night-stand-interest for Max, which... awkward??? (not shaming Anatsa btw, she has exceptional taste in tall aliens, there was just no reason to make her sleep with Max imo, she could've easily bonded with him over a shared interest in writing, and she could've still been surprised/irritated about the fact that he's a cop, IDK, just an odd choice imo), and for the first half of the season she was only part of his storyline every now and then until she and Isobel randomly sat together at the Pony bar (Maria mentioned seeing them “canoodling” in a later episode, which we didn’t get to see tho, so we have no idea what actually happened between them. SHOW, DON’T JUST TELL, FFS 🙄).

I assume that was supposed to mark the beginning of "their" story, but I think Anatsa wasn't even in the next 2-3 episodes after that, so, who knows??? 🤷‍♀️

IDK, it's certainly not due to a lack of chemistry between Lily and Sibongile, and I think Anatsa has the potential to be an interesting character - if the writing would put in the effort to make her one.

Randomly throwing her at Isobel would maybe still work, if Isobel hadn't also shared numerous meaningful and emotional scenes with Kyle this season (in 3x10 even back to back with an A/I scene), showing how close they are, how comfortable they are with each other, and how much chemistry they have.

In 3x10 we’ve also seen Kyle being visibly affected by Isobel approaching Anatsa at the pool table, imo that implies that he's definitely interested in Isobel “like that”. And Isobel is always sunshine personified in every scene with Kyle. I mean, did you see her face when they met in 3x10, her calling him "Dr. Abs" and asking for a hug??? They hugged so tight, Lily must’ve felt Trevino’s abs through 5 layers of clothes.

The show is failing Anatsa/Isobel HARD imo. They didn’t get any development, they haven’t even been allowed to kiss yet, and on the other hand the show’s paired Isobel with Kyle in so many scenes, I’m struggling to truly feel much for A/I.

Again, I see the potential in A/I, but the show’s currently “pitting” the queer wlw pairing in three random and underdeveloped moments against the m/f pairing with numerous shared scenes, and a long-standing history on the show, and that’s very disappointing. :(

Ahead of S3 I was really excited about the idea of Isobel being paired up with Sibongile’s character (we didn’t know whether it would happen, we didn’t even have a character name at the time, neither did we know anything else about the character - fast forward 10 episodes into S3, we've only learned her first name, that she’s a reporter from Chicago, can sing, is good at archery, and that she has a knack for adding bourbon to her coffee - how are we supposed to be invested in a character we know so little about???). I was even upset when it was all about Max in the first half of the season and it seemed like she wouldn’t be the one who’d be paired with Isobel. And now?

I really just want Kybel to happen tbh. Bc they have the emotional connection, I care about both characters deeply, and I see the 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry in every moment they are in a scene together.

You can’t just throw two queer characters at each other, do shit about writing a proper story for them, and then pretend like it’s great queer rep, or awesome writing for an LGBTQIA+ pairing. It’s not.

I mean, can you imagine if they’d done this properly and given A/I a meaningful storyline with emotional impact? Maybe even let two apparently bi/pan women have a convo about being bi/pan in the queer community? They could’ve done some really cool things with the pairing, address issues/stereotypes especially bi/pan women are often dealing with.

Instead we got some random not-even-trying scenes where basically nothing happened, we barely even know Anatsa yet, while Kybel light a fire in every scene they share.

I’m so over stupid fucking triangles (and this show handles them so, so badly), and I hate that I can’t really root for A/I bc I’m emotionally invested in Kybel (the show’s doing everything right with them, but if A/I is what’s happening, it kinda sucks that Kybel get all these meaningful scenes). *sigh*

For the full story, you first need a bit of background: if you’ve been following me for a while then you will be aware I have called out @ayeforscotland’s racism several times. I would recommend reading this post for a full explanation.

In addition to the incidences mentioned in the post I have just linked, ayeforscotland has also had interactions with neo @androidgynes who is Romani and another person who is black (but didn’t want to be named) and they’ve both also called him out for his racism.

Anyway so. @androidgynes​ saw that lesbiansandgayssupporttheminers was reblogging from ayeforscotland, and that the op of the post was @/getpoliticaluk (who defends incest). Androidgynes messaged lesbiansandgayssupporttheminers (who I will from now refer to as lagstm) and informed her that ayeforscotland is racist and getpoliticaluk defends incest - the conversation that followed went like this. (the below screenshots are posted with permission from @androidgynes​)

The post that neo (@androidgynes) linked of mine was this. And I mean... clearly that particular post by ayeforscotland was very racist, he literally just sat there laughing about anti-black racism as if it was a joke. When @mangopickled​ tried to speak to him about how offensive this post was, he removed her comments from the notes of the post (like. to be clear: ayeforscotland, a WHITE MAN, made a post about racism, and then removed a WOMAN OF COLOUR’S commentary from that post when she told him that his comments were inappropriate). When I saw that, I called that out, and he blocked me. There’s many levels to his racism here that I don’t have the energy to explain, and if you don’t understand why it’s so problematic then you should probably stop reading here cos you clearly know nothing and probably care even less about anti-racism.

So on that particular post that neo linked to lagstm, there is ayeforscotland being racist, and 2 woc calling out his racism. And yet on having this post shown to her, this is how she chose to respond

lagstm literally says that she thinks my views on racism lack nuance. I am a woman of colour, I am visibly muslim, and I’ve experienced racism pretty much all my life. And here is a white woman saying that she thinks my views on racism “lack nuance”. I,, I genuinely don’t have words to convey how angry this makes me. Literally who does she even think she is. Not even is it racist to dismiss my literal LIVED experience of being a woman of colour in this country, but she is literally saying “look at these stupid brown folk, they don’t know what they’re talking about cos they’re so stupid :)”

neo points out firstly that as a white person lagstm doesn’t have the right to make that call, and also that there is ofc another woc on that post saying that exact same thing, and androidgynes themselves are roma. lagstm is not just dismissing me as a stupid savage who is too stupid to form complex thoughts, but she is also indirectly saying the same thing about 2 other poc, and saying that her judgement, as a white person, is more sound than all of ours.

It’s also worth mentioning that neo, who is Romani, was polite to lagstm during this exchange, and lagstm was rude and dismissive. I find this deeply hypocritical. Lagstm has been talking a lot about the policing bill and how it will affect GRT communities, but when she’s talking to someone who is actually *from* the Roma community, she is dismissive and condescending. All this shows is that she’s fake AF. She pretends to care about the Roma community on her blog and then speaks down to them in private.

And again this is worth repeating: AYEFORSCOTLAND WAS BEING RACIST ON THAT POST. IT WAS RACIST. WHAT HE SAID WAS RACIST. So lagstm isn’t just ignoring 3 poc, she is also ignoring,,,, you know,,, the actual racism,,,

And she also says ayeforscotland is borderline racist? Like she acknowledges ayeforscotland is borderline racist but she’s still happy to follow him? Like that alone would be enough for me actually

neo then blocked lagstm and messaged me and told me what happened, and showed me the above screenshots - btw prior to this neo and I had never interacted. Anyway I was obviously a bit disgusted but instead of going straight to blocking lagstm or making a callout post straight away, I messaged her to explain herself and take back what she said. That is now two poc who tried to resolve the matter privately - clearly a lot more than lagstm ever deserved. Androidgynes messaged me last Friday, and I messaged lagstm the next day on Saturday

My convo with lagstm went as follows:

So you can see that initially she was apologetic and said she “didn’t mean to imply that that my judgement on racism was flawed” (even tho that’s literally what she said) and defended herself by saying “I react poorly in interactions like this” - genuinely not a defence but whatever. She then proceeded to say that what she doesn’t trust my opinion on is Scotland and Ireland - which completely irrelevant. Firstly I am ambivalent to Scottish nationalism and have always said I don’t know much about it, and I support the reunification of Ireland. And secondly, my issue with aye has got literally nothing to do with Scotland or Scottish nationalism; he is racist all on his own. And the post neo linked was barely even about scottish nationalism, it was just him being anti-black. So lagstm saying “I don’t trust your judgement on Scotland and Ireland” is ridiculous considering that Scottish/Irish nationalism have nothing to do with this.

Like akjfbkjdfbs this is actually so ridiculous. It doens’t make any sense. Lagstm clearly says “I don’t trust pakisstani’s judgement on THIS issue [the issue being racism] and her views on THIS issue [the issue being racism] lack nuance” but now turns around and says “I wasn’t talking about racism, I was talking about Scotland/Ireland” like she must really think I’m dumb

And you can see Lagstm bringing up unrelated hypothetical scenarios, and saying “in this situation, you can’t tell me to defer to poc” which i found ??? Like why are you bringing up scenarios in which you think you are allowed to educate us poor and stupid black and brown folk?? I then told her she was straw-manning and that her points about Ireland/Scotland were ridiculous, but then she claimed it was me that was engaging her in bad faith. Like SHE, the white woman who practically said that I am too stupid to understand racism, and when confronted on it started straw-manning and bringing up unrelated scenarios, said I am not engaging her in good faith. AFTER both neo and I tried to speak to her privately about this. Like I tried to speak to her privately AFTER I FOUND OUT SHE HAD SAID RACIST THINGS ABOUT ME. BUT I’M NOT ENGAGING HER IN GOOD FAITH? LMAOOO

And then the accusation about rape threats which is actually the most disgusting part of this entire thing. I shouldn’t have to explain that accusing 2 poc of conspiring to send her rape threats (without any evidence whatsoever. Frankly I think she’s lying about the rape threats 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s quite a transparent attempt to distract from her own nasty behaviour and deflect onto us) is actually extremely racist. She is invoking her white fragility and painting me and androidgynes as aggressors who are threatening her safety and inflicting/threatening to inflict sexual violence on her. It is beyond disgusting 🤮

What’s more, neo is trans, so when lagstm is baselessly accusing them of issues related to rape, she is also playing up to transphobic tropes.

One more thing worth mentioning is that there are several lies peppered throughout lagstm’s comments. Firstly when she claimed to have briefly unfollowed me - she didn’t actually. I was checking regularly, and she never unfollowed me. This was a small lie that I picked up on striaght away but because it wasn’t relevant I didn’t say anything about it. But I just think it’s interesting that she would lie for no reason. And another lie - feigning ignorance about ayeforscotland’s racism, and actually even asking for receipts is incredibly disingenuous when on this particular post, if you scroll through the notes, you can see she has literally liked it. Like she had already seen the posts where me and mangopickled called out his racism and literally LIKED it, and when neo says to lagstm that aye is racist, lagstm says “receipts please :)” YOU’VE ALREADY SEEN THEM! LASTLY. Last point I swear. When lagstm said “it was also coloured by the statements they’d made about another tumblr user, which didn’t relate to racism, which I didn’t address with them because I didn’t want to upset them” <- she must mean getpoliticaluk defending incest? So like what is lagstm saying here, she didn’t want to bring up that she also herself defends incest?? Like is she tryna say she’s a pro-shipping freak?????????????????????? I adore Steve and I adore Nancy but idk wtf they think they're doing this season, why are they trying to make us think they're happening again, they're not. They spent the last three seasons with Jonathan and Nancy together all the time and in love, Nancy is my baby but she did Steve dirty ( he fucked up too in S1 but he apologized and then made up for it) and then they never basically interacted again, he really loved her it seems and she didn't feel the same and she dumped him( she didn't even dump him technically) and got together with Jonathan five seconds later and I love her and Jonathan so truly again idk wtf they're doing, if it's just gonna be Steve pining again for no reason I don't understand I'm truly confused I wish we had the last 2 episodes because this is like such a perplexing choice, are they trying to like have my boy Steve die sacrificing himself for her or something? I just don't get it!!!!!

the main thing annoying me about the whole thing is that it was very awkwardly inserted into the plot line. while i DO have my ships in the show, i am much more interested in the mystery element of the show. that’s part of why ep7 was my fave; i really loved el in the lab and finding out the origins of vecna. and i was excited for steve, nancy, and others to play detective and find out about kreel and vecna, but then they’d just randomly add side comments and moments about steve and nancy??

while it didn’t completely take away from that plot line or anything, i just found the general inclusion of it to be weird. they made a whole point in s2, and part of s1 to make nancy fall out of love with steve. and i know it’s possible for two people to get together after they’ve matured, but againnn it’s just a limited amount of eps per season. so i just see it as a time waster to have nancy just go back and forth and create drama with her in this never ending love triangle.

my most major issue with this stuff tho is just the treatment of nancy in general. i think nancy is awesome, but i truly feel like she’s been being used as a vessel for male attention. why can nancy not just… be nancy? why is she always someone’s gf or someone’s ex-gf? even in her convos with robin, they talked so much about her relationships. i still loved their dynamic but i would have loved it more if their convos were centered on more interesting things.

Ok, so I had an idea inspired by a convo with @smokeywhalee about cannon characters vs the fannon versions of those characters, and so I wrote this to explore the versions I write verses what it might be like if they met their cannon selves.

These are just my faves for this, since I write/enjoy writing for them the most, but I hope you all can enjoy!

Adler vs My Adler

Bro, Adler would probably shoot my Adler on sight lmao

I can't imagine he'd be very happy with the idea of a perfect clone of himself walking around

That, and the dad bod disturbes him

In all seriousness, I think Adler would give my Adler a chance and at least maybe try to talk with him

If he could somehow confirm that my Adler is indeed a perfect clone of himself, then I can gaurentee you it wouldn't be a very nice means of meeting up

Adler wants to know who sent my Adler and wtf is going on, while my Adler is (understandably) agitated and wants to get back home to Hilda (Bell 😌💖) because he knows she'll be worried

Of course, this would spark another conversation of a clone of Bell being alive in the world

While my Adler may be a bit more mellowed then regular Adler, he's every bit as tough and stubborn and would never give up Bell's location

My Adler is a little more muscular and has a bit of a weight advantage, but cannon Adler is almost definitely more agile, so....

Best to just keep those two apart

Hudson vs My Hudson

Aw man, this would be the Adlers part two tbh

The only real difference is that my Hudson by and large shares cannon Hudson's average ish body type

They know the exact same stuff, they've been through the exact same stuff, the only difference is that my Hudson does not have a Jenny (he has you!!!)

That's negligible I think tho, so luckily you'd be safe

The two of them actually get along very well

It's kind of therapeutic in a way for cannon Mason to have a literal conversation with himself like this

They actually decide to stay in contact and hangout together more often

However, they do agree to keep each other secret

All hell would break loose in the CIA if they found out there were two Alex Masons walking around

My Mason teaches cannon Mason a little bit if what he's learned in therapy to deal with his anxiety and PTSD

It's a very beneficial and healthy friendship

Weaver vs My Weaver

Weaver is not at all interested in my Weaver lmao

He sees a pathetic, self pitying insult to himself, and my Weaver sees a callus tool who's afraid to open up

That does not go over well, and while the two might have a little old man fist fight if things go particularly bad...

I think they'd probably just agree to leave each other be at the end of the day

Cannon Weaver probably doesn't even report the phenomenon to anyone higher up, he just wants to let it go and do his current job

Meanwhile, my Weaver is pretty wounded by his doppelgangers words and spends the next while wondering if he really is as weak and spineless as he's been told

Luckily he at least has you to come home to and talk about it with

Cannon Weaver is another one where you can forget being touchy feely with him

Even if he did actually need a hug or something like that, you wouldn't catch him dead admitting it

Complete and utter MAYHEM

Woods would probably be pretty freaked out to see a copy of himself out and about

He'd have no problem approaching my Woods and seeing what's up though

Upon finding out that they are indeed the same person, the true trouble begins

Woods honestly doesn't care how my Woods came to be, what he does care about is figuring out what kind of stupid shit the two of them can get up to

Mostly that comes in the form of annoying and freaking out Mason

They both laugh at each other's jokes, but Woods wouldn't miss a chance to roast my Woods' dad bod

This is where the real difference is

Not so much in the physique, but in the personality

My Woods is actually pretty sensitive tbh, so I'm sure he'd get upset and pick a fight with cannon Woods just to shut him up

Which of course, cannon Woods would love

Fic Reflection: Rule of Three

↳ This fic was one of the fastest I’ve ever written. From concept inception to post-ready it took days, though I’ve been wanting to write a poly getting-together fic since like the very start of this blog I just hadn’t found a ship that spoke to me enough (almost happened with Dabihawks but I didn’t get my shit together in time)

↳ The first line written was “‘Sei’s being impatient.’”

↳ The last line written was “In fact, he’d come to genuinely enjoy spending time with you, both when Nagi was around and otherwise.”

↳ Reonagi as a ship holds a v special place in my heart bc it’s probably the only thing I really ship in Blue Lock. It’s also a ship where i can definitely say id be interested in dating both parties, and i think they would work well in a triad like depicted

↳ Big fat shoutout to mr @venexus​ who somehow shot me with a reonagi raygun when they wrote their reonagi fic; i blacked out for 12 hours and when i woke up I’d written like 80% of the fic. Also shoutout to them for beta-ing and listening to me scream about the reader getting a mind of their own and becoming a dom

↳ It’s not openly stated in the fic but nagi and reader met through online gaming! Reader’s a bit of an e-thot; when they got together with nagi they weren’t quite popular enough but by the time of the fic they’d quit their job to do it full-time. nagi didn’t meet them through a stream tho they just met on an mmo and hit it off. They got together literally the first time they met irl; they realized they lived rlly close to each other so reader stopped by to meet nagi & hang out one day and he just. Impulsively kissed them while they were gaming together lmfao

↳ In case u couldn’t tell from his narration at the beginning, Reo fell for the reader almost immediately upon meeting them, he just didn’t realize it. The reader knew about it the whole time, both his feelings for them and his feelings for nagi and nagi’s feelings for him. The only reason it took so long for the poly thing to happen was bc reader thought Nagi and Reo were oblivious to the whole situation and it took Nagi broaching the subject for it all to click (if anyone’s interested in how that convo went,,,,,, send in an ask)

↳ Reo definitely tries to sneak away in the morning but reader catches him in the kitchen and they finally have like. A real conversation explaining that yes they rlly do wanna bring him into the relationship and no it’s not just bc they want a third they specifically want him while nagi is asleep in bed and Not trying to make out with the two of them. Hes a fucking menace (I might write this scene too if theres any interest tbh shoot me an ask im truly a sucker for morning after scenes)

↳ Deadass considered learning how to color just for this fic’s banner ngl….. I had a rlly great mental image of the two hapibas i chose with watercolor-type coloring, rlly simple with just their hair and eyes colored, but that didn’t happen. Would’ve ended up spending more time on the banner than the fic LMFAO

↳ I do imagine this in a universe where the bllk team is a professional team and i think the whole thing is…. hi !! hopefully u dont mind a shorter answer this time around, but yeah , you've p much got it ! the transition from kamino -> mva just serves to mark the league (and namely, tomura's) growth as they scramble for money, allies, resources, etc. after afo's arrest.

but yea, the bar gets raided and they go into hiding,, twice recruits overhaul which leads to the shie hassaikai arc and ends with them retrieving the quirk bullets (but w no more resources than they started with). so they go off and complete menial tasks that arent rly elaborated on, until they come across gigantomachia (who kurogiri had been sent to find during the shie hassaikai arc but was subsequently arrested). its at this point ujiko warps them to his lab to explain the goal of tomura's succession, part of which includes gaining gigantomachia's alliance (to eventually weaponize against the heroes & prove his ability to inherit afo).

since gigantomachia only acknowledges afo as his true master, this leads to like . a month long battle btwn him and the league , to no avail. i thinkkkk this is when the meta liberation army takes giran hostage & kickstarts the heart of mva. i don't really rmbr why they target him, but i think it has smth to do with the fact that he's a broker and they deal w black market weapon and costume distribution, so they assume he has info given his association w the league.

the mla (redestro and the meta liberation army, sry for all the acronyms </3) then tell the league they have giran , blah blah, and shigaraki decides that they'd be better off using gigantomachia to destroy deika city (mla base) , to which they can then "defeat" gigantomachia after , when hes all exhausted and shit. and then as u know, mva ends with shigaraki defeating redestro / the meta liberation army and gaining gigantomachia's approval. its from here they , with all of their newfound money & resources , have sushi party (<3 <3) and start prepping for the war arc as the paranormal liberation front

^ anyways. all this to confirm what u just said, AHAH. im so sry if u were looking for like. actual specifics .. i can go more in depth w the mva arc itself if u want , but i kinda left it out since its an entire convo on its own u know

the manga also time-jumps a bit, so in case u were wondering, the pro hero arc (high-end nomu + dabi vs endeavor and hawks) happens while shigaraki and the league are fighting gigantomachia (right before mva). this is bc dabi says he's going to pursue his own interests , so ujiko offers the hooded nomu for a test run . he joins back w the league right before they attack deika city tho !

I miss him and the whole Byers fam too! I think in Cali we have a chance of at least seeing them interact finally (tho they should have managed to have them interact last season smh). I’m always doubtful of Jonathan’s screentime given how he’s been treated the past two seasons BUT my speculation for him is ig we will see how he’s doing in Cali and how he has his new friend (fun to see imo), we might see him pining a bit over Nancy if that thing abt the airport is true, we supposedly see him on a rooftop smoking weed at one point, and we see him working a bit at SBP (which makes a lot of sense with his character given s1).

But then what I’m most curious about is what we see of him with the Byers and the pressures he’s put under when he’s left in charge of Will, El, and tho Joyce might not realize it at the time, Mike—because that seems like a lot to have placed on him! So first, do we get any full fam Byers scenes before Joyce leaves? Does Joyce tell Jonathan she’s leaving and to look after the kids and what is that convo like if it happens? How does he do balancing the job and the kids—does the show depict any of the pressure of him literally being left as the sole caregiver for some time? Does he have any of that meltdown Charlie thinks Jonathan would have but the Duffers never write lol? Do we see them all together after Joyce leaves and before el is taken or is it scenes with only the kids together and then only Jonathan and Argyle together—so how much more fam time do we get? Do we get a breakfast scene tm (Impt)? If will and el are hearing noises and they tell him, how does he react (does he not believe them or is too busy)?

And that what on earth does he do when El is taken? Bc that would be A LOT that on his watch El is arrested and then taken by the lab—I’d imagine especially given his experience with Will, he’d feel frantic, guilty, very worried (like pls show us that)? What does he (and all of Cali gang) do to try to get her out without any real adult there (so do they call Owens, for instance?) Do we get to have any scenes of Jonathan helping El with her trauma once she’s out (if before the road trip)? And then what are they all like on this road trip and what prompts it (getting away from Brenner or that they know something is going down in Hawkins)? On the road trip, like he’s still in charge of the kids and sole caregiver looking after them (ig argyle can help too lol), so do we see any of that? Are they all just bickering and not getting along, are there poignant fam moments bet them?

Sorry that’s less speculation abt what will happen with him than a whole list of questions I have about Jonathan in s4 lol. But I really hope the show depicts some of those things; they’d be v interesting to see!
