i love these kinds of things so much so here lemme share a few of my favorite qol browser extensions, apps, and sites:
Wikipedia Mobile Redirect (Chrome): does exactly what it says! you have no clue how much more readable this is, using Stylebot (i'll explain in a bit) you can also tweak this to you're only liking and make wikipedia browsing actually enjoyable
Dark Reader (Website): turns all your pages to dark mode, you can tweak the specifics of this as well to be exactly your dark mode, plus a per site toggle :)
uBlock Origin (Website): a really good ad blocker which is constantly updated to stop any ads and annoying advertising and tracking bs, generally everything you've heard before from an adblocker, though one thing that's cool abt ublock is that it also has an element "zapper" which just lets you remove any parts of the page an curate your own experience
Stylebot (Website): it lets you modify any site's css, which if you've messed with your own blog's css before then you know how powerful that is, it does require knowledge of css for the most part but there's also a gui that lets you do a lot of what you'll want to do regardless
12ft.io and 12ft.io Redirect Free (Website, Chrome): y'know those annoying sites where you get like 2 articles for free and then you have to pay like 20$ a month for any other ones, well this site (most of the time) lets you bypass that! the redirect basically just provides a button for that, and don't think abt getting the official extension i promise a button is not worth the 5$ or whatever it costs
ClearURLs (Website): y'know those declaration of independence ass urls that amazon and other sites can give you, this basically gets rid of these (technically it removes tracker url parameters but same thing lol)
Redirector (Website): hey op's site mentions this! it basically redirects you from one site to another, very useful when you have sites like the one op posted
SponsorBlock (Website): use youtube? annoyed with sponsored segments in videos? this is the thing for you™ it also lets you block intros and outros, intermissions and anything else which distracts from the content of the video
okay now it's time for the apps and stuff, unfortunately most of these are android specific because apple's weird policies
Kiwi Browser (Website): a mobile browser that lets you use extensions! has an inbuilt adblocker and auto dark theme thing, ngl they kinda suck,, also lets you use dev tools on mobile if you want that, i use it from time to time :)
Aliucord (Website): if you use discord, this is basically betterdiscord for mobile extreme qol stuff you can do with this, just the plugins and themes could be an entire post by itself
Youtube Revanced (Website): basically youtube mobile but with ublock and sponsorblock built-in, also allows you to remove some annoying features, won't list them here though
DarQ (Website): allows you to force any app in your phone to dark mode! if you don't want to root your phone then you have to use Shizuku which is painless to use, just know you have to restart the app everytime you restart your phone, everything else you need to know is in the app :)
Infinity (Website): reddit mobile but better, i rarely use reddit but this makes my experience usable whenever i want to
i think that's the last of it, hope this is useful to someone!
footnote : some of these apps are available on fdroid, an alternative app store, i suggest using Neo Store (F-Droid) as a client for this :)
my quality of life has improved tenfold ever since i was introduced to breezewiki, a site that exists solely to remove the bloat from fandom.com wikis. no more ads, quizzes, random autoplaying videos, popups, recommended pages from other sites, or discord server member lists. just the wiki. these things are finally readable again
#i lovvvvvve user first extensions and experiences#also god i had no idea how many of these i used lol#alternative frontends#browser extension#useful#qol

Is Youtube Premium Worth It?
YouTube has a paid subscription service known as YouTube Premium but if you are looking for free videos it's an excellent place to be. With this improved experience, you can download videos for offline viewing, play them in the background, and do away with ads.
We need to list its advantages to facilitate your decision to take up the subscription with YouTube Premium. Here, you will find that is youtube premium worth it with all the necessary data to decide what you want, assuming you are sick of ads or just desire your favorite video to be available on the go.
Why you should subscribe to YouTube premium
The following are the primary reasons you might want to think about YouTube Premium worth it:
1. Watch ad-free videos
Watching videos without being interrupted by advertisements is one of the finest benefits of a subscription plan. You may still see advertisements embedded directly in the movies, even though you won't see any overlay, banner, or Google search adverts.
2. Full access to YouTube originals
In the past, YouTube Originals were only available on YouTube Premium, with original content only available to subscribers. However, most of these videos are now accessible to everyone, although with advertisements, as YouTube stopped producing Originals in early 2022. However, premium members continue to have access to special features, including director's edits and deleted sequences and ad-free streaming.
3. You can save videos for offline viewing
The Save For Offline feature will be helpful to anyone without an unlimited data plan or traveling through places with patchy mobile coverage. Every video on YouTube Premium has a convenient download icon. You can store clips for subsequent viewing at up to 1080p HD by tapping it. This function is ideal for downloading video podcasts at home or storing your favorite music videos.
4. Background play
It's happened to all of us: you're jamming to music or watching a YouTube video when you suddenly lock your device or switch apps, and everything stops. Isn't that annoying? YouTube Premium fills that need. An awesome benefit of this subscription is background playback. While you're multitasking with other apps or your screen is off, your videos continue to play. That way, you can keep listening to your music or watching your videos continuously. You can also visit Our Follower to Buy Facebook Followers.
5. YouTube Music premium
With millions of music, YouTube Music provides a vast collection that includes official songs, live performances, and well-curated playlists. By subscribing, you can enjoy these without ads, access customized mixes, and download songs to listen to offline—ideal for places without internet access.
So, is it worth Youtube Premium?
You might be tempted to sign up just to get rid of advertisements. However, you also receive benefits like downloading content, watching offline, playing videos in the background, and having a better viewing experience overall. It is extremely valuable if you do not have another music streaming service. For frequent users, these features make it a good investment because they improve both your music and video viewing experiences. We hope now you know is it worth it to get Youtube Premium.

Cruise trip is over. No fire this time! I didn't jinx it! Just only a guy who got airlifted off the ship and storm Hilary trying to invite itself
Highlights of the trip:
Brother kept making friends with grannies
People kept mistaking me and my brother as a couple (they put our beds together, one of the housekeepers thought we were a couple for most of the trip, this guy in the elevator gave me advice)
One cousin and his boyfriend were assumed to be "just bros" because they had their bed separated then we later found out from their confused roomkeeper that they were accidentally registered as two females in the booking.
Apparently a guy was taken away in handcuffs at the baggage screening area before initial boarding
One cousin made so many friends that he ended up with an entourage every he went
That Hilary storm cancelled our plans in Mexico so we only had four hours in Mexico at night
One cousin and her boyfriend ran a mile in order to make the all aboard return time (they went to a strip club and lost track of time). Turns out they were not the last to board as they originally thought.
Another cousin took videos of the last minute people trying to reach the ship on time (some were walking) and watched the cousin and her boyfriend running
The people watching the last minute return boarders kept shouting "You can do it!"
Apparently the last guy to board the ship yelled something along the lines of "Sorry I'm late but it's because I GOT LAID!!!!"
Missing the return boarding is a $7500 fine plus being stuck in Mexico
Our group dressed and acted like old people during karaoke night and I'm pretty sure we stole the show and caused the people after us to try and one-up us
We met a guy who used to perform in "certain adult videos" and he told some stories. His wife seemed a little embarrassed that he was telling us too many of the stories. He participated in the cruise's sexiest man contest. I heard he won
Chatted with a kid while waiting in line for the water slide then later ended up chatting with her family the next day and only finding out they were her family when the kid showed up
There was a free bracelet thing (with charms you had to pay for) going on and I told the kid's family about it because I was ending our convo short to check it out since it was almost time for the event
They designated me as the go-to for finding free stuff on the ship (unfortunately the cruise's app wasn't helpful this time in finding free stuff)
The trend of my old footwear breaking anytime I wear it to some event continues
I am now doing research on jumping beans and the proper care for them because it turns out it's not some weird natural magnetism like some people thought (there's moth larvae inside)
I have become emotionally attached to these larvae
Apparently, I am bad at giving names to anything, including larvae
My apologies to Clicker, Clickster, Clicky, Clickabbie, and D.B. Cooper
Our group found out about a hidden staff door when we were trying to take a group photo
A cousin kept having 2 AM pizza runs
Some people got the drink package and decided to have ten drinks a day in order to get their money's worth
Bingo got very competitive. Don't mess with bingo people. Lesson learned.
The room we had was small and would not recommend it to people with claustrophobia (especially the bathroom)
The rain won't stop anyone from being in the pool or getting ice cream
The ship captain regretted taking a quick walk to greet passengers because he didn't know there was a scavenger hunt that included taking a selfie with the captain and he kept getting stopped every five steps
Part of the scavenger hunt was to get marriage advice from married couples and most people responded with "Don't" and "Jump off the ship"
There was a double rainbow
There was a couple of Mexicans(?) dressed as Luigi and Mario trying to advertise the stores
A lady offered us "free excursion tour"
There were some people in dinosaur costumes while we were in Mexico
I missed my opportunity to take a picture of the building with the giant sign that said "HOTEL" while the building had giant windows that showed off all the empty rooms
I was able to play Twisted Wonderland this time! Yay!
Aaaaaand that's all I can remember

Daily Log: 2/25/2023
It feels nice to get back into the spirit of traditionally drawn sketches, so I think I will traditionally sketch the base outlines of Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes, too. Given I no longer do the comic style of having space in between panels, it should make traditionally sketching things easier.
I also am loving the Steam version of Digimon World: Next Order. I dunno if it's just me because I'm used to the tips/tricks of things, but this version feels easier than the original PS4 one. I also feel like it's less buggy in comparison, too, with things like your partners not taking a while to use their ordered special moves, sometimes. Even more conveniently, I'm loving that addition of a "run" button, which already makes the game 200x easier.
In other news, I think I may stop "blazing" my posts on here, as I'm not seeing that much difference, really. At the very least, I certainly won't be "blazing" the post of Getting Your Goat's epilogue, as that's far too short to warrant it. Sure, the final image should be a nice piece of fluff to stare at, but still not really "blaze" worthy-- nor will anything else be, with the limited level of reception it seems to gather. Aw well, only time shall tell.
I'd honestly like to do advertisements through commissions instead, but I'm a little iffy about payment methods that involve an outside site/app. I prefer using whatever payment methods can be done on the social media site/app itself, as it feels more convenient and safer. Hopefully, I can find a way to commission artists in a way that feels comfortable.
#daily updates#works in progress#traditional drawings#playing Digimon#to blaze or not to blaze#would like to commission someone someday

"throwing crypto sponsored posts at us every two seconds" except tumblr ads have been full of crypto shit for months, along with other predatory companies and misinformation, because they don't do the minimum of vetting before they take the money.
Even the original announcement for premium ADMITS that it won't remove sponsored posts. You know, the ones that show up every five seconds telling you to shave your balls or buy gentrified weed. The ones you can't report even if they contain misinformation or violate tumblr policy.
That's not 0% ads. Any way you look at it, Tumblr is not providing what they say here.
Honestly I don't even care if there are a few minimally intrusive ads on my dash, but tumblr has failed to adhere to their OWN POLICY of advertising standards by permitting ads that force open the app store, auto play with sound, or drop down over your feed. And that's before we even talk about their track record of censorship- banning explicit content, clearing out blm and related tags at the peak of protest activity along with BASIC FUNCTIONALITY (such as completely blocking the cw/tw tags from view on the iOS app, meaning that either people have to stop using them and remove the ability to filter for heavy content, or exclude half of users from participating at all).... all this instead of building a reasonable moderation system and letting people curate their own experience, the one thing this site has going for it over every other social media.
Staff needs to do better.
This is 100% new and 100% Tumblr with 0% ads.
If you love ads, then this post is not for you. If you love Tumblr but hate ads and want the one to continue without having to endure the other, then this post is literally for you. Hello, you.
As of today, you can set up ad-free browsing on your personal desktop computer, from anywhere in the world, and then enjoy the same effervescent Tumblr you know and love, across all platforms, without the interruption of ads. Scroll away.
Some caveats:
It’s $4.99 for a month of pure, unadulterated nonsense.
If you like a discount, you can get 33% off (that’s four months for free) at $39.99 for a whole year. Imagine.
This is opt-in. You don’t have to do this. We won’t make you.
How do you opt in?
Easy! Just go to your Account Settings on desktop and hit "Go Ad-Free." From there, you can choose to pay monthly or yearly:
And that’s it! You’ll be able to enjoy your favorite blogs and posts without any pesky ads getting in the way.
That’s all for now, Tumblr. Back to your blorbos.

How to Block ads on Spotify
How to Block ads on Spotify: Although Spotify's free version is excellent, it would be even better if there were no advertisements. We can prevent Spotify adverts, but we are unable to give you access to all of Spotify's premium features, such as offline music playback.
How to block Spotify ads with a VPN:
Install Clario
Activate a free trial offer.
Select a server for your VPN other than your own. For example, Switzerland and Singapore have fewer audio ads than the bulk of other countries.
To listen to music with little to no advertising, sign up for a Spotify account.
How to Block ads on Spotify in web browsers
All popular browsers support the Spotify web player fairly well. A browser plugin can disable adverts for you if you use the service in that way. Most users can use uBlock Origin to block Spotify advertisements. (It also stops all other websites from running ads.) If you'd rather not block ads across the entire internet, try a plugin like SpotiAds to limit ad-blocking to just Spotify.
Spotify ad blocker chrome or spotify ad blocker chrome extension–
In the Chrome Web Store, look either SpotiShush or Spotify Ad Remover.
Tap Install to Chrome to add this extension to Chrome and launch the Spotify web player.
The add-on will disable all advertising while using the Spotify web player to listen to music.
How to hide spotify ad blocker pc
Without paying for Spotify Premium, there are two ways to totally disable all advertisements in the Spotify Windows client. (Just keep in mind that these blockers won't work with the Spotify app on the Microsoft Store; in order to use them, you must download the app directly from Spotify's website.)
BlockTheSpot is one of the best Spotify ad blockers or Spotify no advertising for Windows. You can find all the installation instructions you need on its GitHub page, and its programme will get rid of banner, video, and audio ads in the Spotify app. The ad-blocking on Spotify might periodically stop functioning as a result of upgrades, but you can easily fix this by running the.bat file in the BlockTheSpot folder. If BlockTheSpot is not for you, you might want to think about BurntSushi.
How to remove Spotify ads on Mac and Linux
Utilize Spotify-Adblock-MacOS to prevent adverts from showing in the Spotify app for Mac, but first you need to obtain a self-signed certificate to use the Keychain Access programme. Install applications and follow the guidelines on the GitHub website before launching the Spotify app. As an alternative, you can stop using Spotify and adhere to the ad blocker setup instructions.
The next time you use Spotify, it will ask permission to enter the folder where you copied the ad blocker. Following that, you won't see any more ad interruptions while using Spotify, and updating the app won't change the implementation.
If you use the Spotify app on Linux, try Spotify-adblock; however, before installing it, make sure your Linux distribution is compatible with it.
Use VPN to block Spotify ads
Spotify can become a haven for your soul if you learn how to block the majority of its intrusive advertisements. Utilizing a Virtual Private Network is the easiest method (VPN). This strategy works on desktop and mobile platforms, but it does not completely prevent advertisements from interfering with your experience.
By establishing a connection to a server located in a country where Spotify is not yet available, you can listen to music with fewer advertising. However, keep in mind that enabling a VPN can cause your internet connection to lag.
To stop Spotify ads, alter the proxy settings.
This method likewise functions in the same way as a VPN. The service will think you are streaming from that location and stop bothering you with advertisements if you set up a proxy server for a country where Spotify is not yet available. To find a free proxy server, conduct a Google search for "free proxy server" and the relevant country.
Mac proxy server configuration
System Preferences can be found under Apple menu.
On the webpage, select Network and then tap Advanced
The Proxies section contains the FTP Proxy.
After entering the IP address and port number of the proxy server, click OK.
Click "Apply"
Contact the security experts at Clario for assistance if you need assistance setting up a proxy server.

The easiest way to block Spotify ads
Joining Spotify Premium is the quickest, safest, and most effective option to totally block ads. Along with the opportunity to listen to music without advertisements, paying subscribers also get access to a number of helpful features, like limitless access to Spotify's extensive music library, the capacity to download songs for offline listening, and even higher sound quality.
The premium subscription enables both ad elimination and engagement with the greater Spotify community. You are helping the service and your favourite musicians by paying for access to the music so they can continue to create music that is worth obsessing over.
For instructions on how to join Spotify Premium, see below:
Select Start now when you go to Spotify.com/Premium.
Enter your information and pick a payment method.
After providing payment details, click Start my Premium Spotify immediately.
It should be noted that the Spotify app is available for both iOS and Android users.
EZBlocker-
EZBlocker is an easy-to-use Spotify ad blocker/muter. In an effort to prevent Spotify ads from loading, EZBlocker will try. EZBlocker pauses Spotify while an ad loads and does so until it is finished.
There are no glitzy features; just advertising are prohibited. When an ad is prohibited, just Spotify is muted; other audio is unaffected. EZBlocker aims to be the most dependable and stable ad blocker for Spotify.
There is no need to prepare; simply drag it into any folder and launch it. To upgrade your EZBlocker, replace the executable file.

Limiting the audience to six countries is a huge disadvantage. How many people have downloaded the app? And of those how many have paid the subscription fee to watch Origins?
For Origins to be a success they need to build an audience. It has been years since Stargate has been on TV, and Universe was so different to SG-1 and Atlantis that it divided the audience. A lot of people didn't like the direction Stargate was heading, into dark, gritty stories where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. For drama! At a time when sci-fi was becoming light again.
Origins is a 100 minute film divided into ten minute episodes for 'easy streaming' whatever that means. I have no problem streaming entire seasons of full length episodes through Netflix. Think about it. One ten minute section of a film each week. At best it will be frustrating trying to watch it that way. Just as the episode gets going, it's over. It will most likely be edited in a way that allows it to play seamlessly when watched all at once so the audience won't notice the breaks. Put on a movie, any movie, watch ten minutes and then stop. Then an hour later watch another ten minutes, then stop again.
Imagine that but waiting a week to see the next few scenes.
The most likely outcome is that people will wait until there is enough to actually make watching worthwhile. A third or halfway through, maybe until all the episodes have been released. Which will have a dramatic effect on the weekly viewing figures.
Which is obviously a problem, MGM are testing the waters with Origins, they want to know how much interest there is in Stargate before making the decision on investing in a new show.
And this brings us back to the original point. The audience is limited to the most dedicated fans in six countries. The majority of Stargate fans will not be able to watch this, at least not legally. The app won't encourage new fans. Not when they have to pay separately on top of their existing streaming services/ cable packages.
And right now Stargate desperately needs new fans. It's almost 21 years since SG-1 premiered. 24 since the original movie. The original audience is getting older, a lot have probably moved on to other shows. And after Universe, MGM can't rely on everyone who was a fan to come back.
Outside of the Stargate fandom, how many people know Origins even exists? Has there been any advertising anywhere? I know there are a couple of threads for discussion on Gateworld, and a few posts here, but apart from that, how do they expect to draw in new people?
This whole exercise seems poorly thought out and terribly executed.
I want it to be a success, I really do. No matter how I feel about some people in the fandom (you know who you are) I do want to see Stargate succeed.
But the way things are headed, I don't see how that is possible.
