#they were so sore from the morning workout

After you spar with Katsuki Bakugo, you are in pain everywhere. You assumed it was just soreness from the workout, but waking up the next morning and looking in the mirror told a whole different story. You had bruises. Everywhere. Your arms had one huge bruise in the front where you had blocked most of his explosions. Your elbows were an even darker color from falling on your ass so many times. Your knees looked the same. Walking into class that morning was about to be so awkward.
“Oh my god what happened to you (y/n)!” Ochaco yelled the second you walked through the door. Just what you were hoping wouldn't happen.
“Were you not there when I got my ass beat?” you replied a little too loud. Katsuki definitely heard that. Your cheeks got redder. At that moment Katsuki got up from his seat and started to walk towards you.
“I guess I’ll take you to recovery girl since it’s my fault you look like that,” Katsuki said, grabbing your wrist on his way out. You smiled, knowing that this was his way of saying ‘holy shit I had no idea you would look like that I am so sorry’. You read it in his eyes.
You knew you were going to be late for class and you didn’t really mind a few bruises but you were not about to pass up an opportunity to have one on one time with Katsuki.

Thinking about older!Married!Neighbor! Abby and the elementary teacher who lives a few doors down….

[ Contains:] infidelity implied, marital issues, blurb
Moving to Washington was nice. The neighborhood was quiet. White picket fence. Shiny rock on her finger. A warm bed, talks of future kids, and kisses on the cheek. But even with all that, Abby couldn’t help herself. Not when you were there. Almost every. Single. Morning.
Married Abby! who first noticed you on a run. Headband, ponytail, and an ass that just made her—ugh.
“Coming!” she called back out, ripping her eyes away from the kitchen window.
To whom? Her wife. Sweet Amanda. High school sweetheart. Love of her life. Well, that’s what she told herself. Who was she kidding? It’s been rocky since the move.
The truth was, Abby had agreed to the move because Amanda wanted to be closer to her family. But Abby’s dad was sick. She needed to be here, to help, to take care of what mattered—her family. When she tried to explain that, it spiraled like it always did.
“So my family’s less important now?” Amanda snapped, arms crossed over her chest.
Abby exhaled sharply, already exhausted. “That’s not what I said.”
“That’s what it sounds like.”
“Come on, Amanda,” Abby ran a hand down her face, jaw tight. “I’ve done everything to make this move work for you. You wanted the suburbs, the perfect house, the perfect life—”
“For us, Abby. Not just me.”
Abby scoffed. “Really? Because it feels like every time I bring up my dad, it’s suddenly a problem.”
Amanda shook her head, biting back frustration. “It’s not a problem, it’s just—what about our future? You spend all your time working or worrying about your dad. Where do I fit into that?”
The arguments piled on top of each other, never-ending, circling back to the same, tired place. Cold dinner plates. Unfulfilled, half-hearted attempts at intimacy. And, worse, lonely nights spent rubbing one out to try to release something. Since her wife was always “not in the mood.”
But no matter how hard she tried to push you out of her mind, she couldn’t. You. Sweating in the sun, that warm glow on your face. The small bounce of your ass in those tight black leggings as you passed her large kitchen window.
Jesus, she couldn’t help but let her mind wander.
Married Abby! Who’s worked under Graves Electrical ever since she was a girl, soaking up her father’s teachings. Now, a few weeks settled, known as ‘Miss Fix It,’ a well-known figure in the neighborhood, called for all sorts of emergency repairs.
She used to have her sore muscles rubbed on by doting Amanda. But now? Epsom salt and a bath she’d fall asleep in more often than the actual bed became her best friend.
Married Abby! Knew a little about you, aside from how her body reacted when you passed by. Seeing you come home with a basket full of what looked like school supplies—crayons, Elmer’s glue—combined with the sticker on your car bumper that read, “Teaching is a work of heart,” with a drawn apple. she put it together fairly quick.
It was sickeningly sweet compared to the gloomy cloud hanging over her own household. Unlike her, no ring on your finger. Just colorful clothes, gel-polished nails, and fitted workout clothes that drove her nuts.
The only thing sicker than your positivity? The fact that her wife was the one to show you the property you came home to at 4:15 on the dot, Monday through Friday.
And what almost broke her resolve completely? Yesterday morning.
You stood at her door, smiling, something wrapped in tinfoil in hand—coming to thank Amanda for helping you move in now that you were settled. The low-cut floral dress made her grip the doorframe a little tighter.
“Hi,” she forced out, clearing her throat. “Can I help you?”

Logan begging for it.... so sweetly we cant refuse..... when he knows reader needs his sleep..... taking it in his even when it stays soft...... cockwarming reader while we sleeps.....
Yes im writing whis as I fall asleep
Logan Howlett x male reader
headcanons
I was gonna write a longer thing, but a migraine decided to kick my ass all of a sudden, so here I am simply rambling about this.
Imagine having a normal but exhausting day job. You’re no hero, no vigilante, no nothing, you’re just a guy. And you somehow ended up charming the pants off of The Wolverine of all people. How? You have no idea
Dating Logan is a real treat, even with his roughness and sometimes standoffish personality. When you guys really get close, he starts to get more vulnerable.
Along with vulnerable emotionally, he also starts to get a much stronger libido, seeing as he has a partner now. Him having a healing factor doesn’t help you in this case, since it means he has very little recovery time.
Seeing Logan, one would think hed be the dominant one, something you assumed in the beginning too. That was until you guys got intimate the first time and he shoved you onto your back to ride you instead.
There were no complaints from you obviously, because who’d mind having someone like that riding you? Logan in his broad, hairy and so very heavy way, lifting himself up and down on you like it was barely a workout.
You have to remind him to be careful though, multiple times, seeing as his bones make him extra heavy, and your poor hips are that of the average person.
Having a partner with a libido like that though, also means Logan is always raring to go, almost waiting for you by the door when you get home from your shift, like an old gruff dog waiting for affection.
The first week or two of you coming home dead on your feet and passing out on the couch the moment you sat down passed… as well as they could for Logan. He wouldn’t force you to do anything you hadn’t agreed with, but God, is he starting to get antsy.
After way too long, in Logans opinion at least, he finally can’t take it anymore. Being the Loverboy he secretly is, he at least brings you to your shared bed before clambering on top of you again.
You’re just too exhausted to do much other than pet at his thighs, eyes already drooping, but his almost timid but so desperate begging keeps you awake longer than other days. When you sleepily agree, Logan kisses you so hungrily you almost lose your breath.
You stay somewhat awake in the beginning as he works your clothes off, being kind enough not to rip it even if logan really really wanted too. He knows its your work clothes, and you’ve scolded him enough times about ripping up your clothes at this point.
It was hard to even really stay awake as Logan worked you hard, just enough for him to slide down on you, his groans sounding like he was a starving man having his first bite of food in weeks. Had you not been struggling to keep your eyes open, you might have teased him.
When Logan leans forward and just rests his weight on you, that was the last straw. Who could stay awake with such a warm heavy weight pressing down on them, like your own personal weighted wolverine blanket.
Logan didn’t even really feel the need to ride you or get himself off, he just wanted to be close to you like this, to feel you inside him and press up against you. So having slowly doze off under him wasn’t a bother, especially as you mumble for him to just keep going.
Most of the night is majorly used by Logan to just tuck his face into your neck and huff your scent, or rub his own against you. You will wake up with beard burns, sorry but those at the rules. Theres probably some chew marks and hickeys mixed in there too, Logans possessive.
You do wake up with very sore hips the next morning. In the comics he’s 300 lbs, but that’s with his comic height, so if were going off of movie Logan he weighs even more. And no matter how much you work out, that’s gotta make you sore.
You don’t really mind though, especially as Logan makes sure you massage your hips in ways you didn’t even know were possible. This also just gives Logan an excuse to lick and gnaw at you more, and to rub more of his scent into you, and yours into him.
Yes, you limp that day, and probably the day after. Luckily you’re able to work from home. This of course also means you have Logan on your dick the entire time, even if its just your mutant lover crawling under the blanket to get his mouth on you.

Operation: Cover Me in Sonshine
Author’s Note: Making the Operations fics into a series!
Content warning: Pregnancy and natural delivery.

It’s still early. The quiet of the house feels almost surreal as you wake up. The air feels heavier somehow, like the morning itself is holding its breath. Sunlight creeps through the blinds in soft slants, barely brushing the edges of your room. You shift slightly, wincing as the weight of your belly tugs against your body. Your hand instinctively finds the curve of it, still firm, round, and impossibly stretched. You sigh softly, not really wanting to be awake because you can already feel how early in the day it still must be. The clock on your nightstand blinks, 5:55 AM.
Another morning.
You’ll be lucky if you ever sleep in past seven for the next few years. Right now, though, sleep seems like a distant luxury, one you haven’t had much of lately. Between the ache in your hips and the dull throb in your lower back, rest comes in fits and starts. Despite how exhausted you are, your mind refuses to quiet.
All you can think about—all anyone can think about, is that you’re still waiting. Three days have passed since your due date and yet, no contractions, no signs, no…nothing. Just this endless limbo, your body stuck in a frustrating stalled state that makes you feel like you’re teetering on the edge of something big, yet unable to tip over.
You grab at the nightstand for your phone, squinting as the bright screen flares to life. A message from Joe waits at the top.
Hey babe, just headed out for a quick workout. I’ll be back by 10:30. If you need anything or feel like today’s the day, just let me know and I’ll come home sooner. Love you.
Your lips curve slightly, warmth blooming in your chest, but there’s something else there too, something closer to frustration. Not at him, but at…all of it. This waiting game. The feeling of being stuck while everyone around you carries on.
You knew he’d get up early. Even in the offseason, Joe clings to a routine, his quiet hours in the morning when the world feels calm and focused. And he’s earned that space. He’s been incredible these past few weeks, doting without hovering, most of the time. He’s always steady and patient no matter how restless you’ve been. Every evening, he asks if you’re okay, if you need anything, sometimes twice, oftentimes more. His time off has revolved around you, learning everything there is to know about newborns: the most effective swaddle methods, how long to keep him awake so he learns the difference between night and day as well as an effective nighttime feeding schedule.
He can take a few hours to himself, you think. He deserves that.
Your fingers hover over the screen before you type out a reply.
Thanks, babe. I’ll be fine. Just make sure you don’t overdo it.
You can practically hear him chuckling through the phone, that quiet, knowing laugh, because he never seems to believe he’s overdoing anything. His stubborn confidence is part of what makes him Joe, part of why you love him.
You exhale and try to shift again, but a deep ache flares in your back, deeper this time, like a dull knife twisting low in your spine, pulling things apart that are definitely meant to stay firmly attached. You groan softly and press your fingers into the sore spot, massaging circles to ease the tension. It’s not new at all. This ache has been creeping in more and more lately, but each time it sparks, a tiny flicker of hope stirs in your chest.
Maybe this is it…
But no. The pain fades, leaving you frustrated and no closer to labor than you were yesterday, or the day before that.
The clock now reads 6:37 AM.
You close your eyes, but the knot of restlessness remains. There’s a quiet pressure building, not painful exactly, but heavy and constant, like your body is gathering itself for something important. You know it’s coming, but when?
You shift again, one hand on your belly, feeling the faintest flutter of movement beneath your skin. The tiny human you've spent all this time carefully creating is still tucked inside, still waiting.
“Take your time,” you murmur softly, your voice barely a whisper in the quiet room. “Just, maybe not too much longer? Please?”
You set the phone down and settle back into the blankets, trying to relax your shoulders. It’s been hard, lately. Waiting. It’s been a whole year of preparation, appointments, baby names, and finally, the moment feels so close, but not quite here yet.
The minutes tick by, slow and steady, but for now, you’re here, in this quiet space, waiting for the little one to arrive. Just a little longer.
You put the phone down, letting Joe’s text sink in as you try to shake off the dull ache in your bones. The unfortunate familiar pangs of discomfort from indigestion and constipation seem to be intensifying. Lately, it feels like the world’s most inconvenient ailment has decided to settle in just as you’re waiting for the baby to make its grand entrance. Of course, it’s also the one thing you didn’t expect to be this uncomfortable—being overdue should’ve been enough of a challenge without the constant bloating and awkward, painful pressure in your stomach.
You inhale deeply, trying to remind yourself it’s just the digestive struggles. The weight of the baby pressing against your insides, your body’s final stretch before it does its job. It’s annoying. Embarrassing, even.
It feels like every part of your body is letting you down. Your stomach bloats up at the smallest meal, your back aches with every step, and now, it’s like your own body is holding the baby hostage in there. And let’s not even get started on the hormone-driven emotional rollercoaster.
But, you have to admit, some of it feels comical, even in its discomfort. You’ve read enough pregnancy blogs to know that half the battle is dealing with things no one tells you about—like the indignity of trying to figure out which position on the couch will ease your gas without making you explode in a fit of awkwardness.
With a sigh, you slowly swing your legs off the bed, careful not to rush the movement. The pressure in your midsection seems to ease up slightly as you stand, though it’s still there, a little tight and definitely at max capacity. You gingerly make your way downstairs, holding onto the railing for balance, feeling the full weight of your baby drastically shifting your equilibrium. As you move, the cramping feels more like an intense knot in your gut, and you know it’s time to make your way to the exercise ball.
You head straight for the water bottle, taking a long sip, feeling the cool liquid trickle down your throat and easing the dryness that’s taken over. You don’t think it’ll help regulate whatever is going on, but hydration seems like a decent place to start.
After a few seconds, you make your way over to the corner of the living room where the exercise ball sits, your faithful companion during these last few weeks. You lower yourself slowly onto it, wincing a little as the baby shifts, and take a deep breath as you roll your hips in slow circles. The gentle movement is supposed to relieve the pressure, and although you’re skeptical, you focus on the slight relief it brings.
It’s just one of those things, isn’t it? One of the million little things people never tell you about pregnancy. How one day you’ll have to tell your husband you haven’t gone to the bathroom in days and you’re on the verge of praying about it. You can’t help but chuckle softly to yourself, even if the situation is mildly uncomfortable. But that’s pregnancy—endlessly humbling, unpredictable, and sometimes…a little bit ridiculous.
You rest your hands on your belly, feeling the baby moving around, and for a moment, the cramping fades into something more tolerable. Maybe this won’t last much longer. Maybe the baby’s just waiting for you to stop worrying about the pain, stop stressing, before finally making his move.
Until then, you’ll continue rolling on this exercise ball, a little horrified at what your body is or isn’t doing, a little tired, but still hopeful that you’ll stop having to ask for help tying your shoes and getting off the couch soon and very soon.
By the time Morgan shows up at 8 AM, you’re curled up on the couch, tucked into a corner with a throw blanket draped over your legs. The dull ache in your lower belly hasn’t really let up, and the pressure feels like someone’s wedged a brick just above your hips. You’re trying to focus on Abbott Elementary, but even your favorite sitcom isn’t helping much. The laughter from the TV feels distant, like background noise to the uncomfortable churning inside you.
Morgan’s familiar voice calls from the kitchen.
“Morning! How’re you feeling?”
You force a smile and crane your neck toward him. He’s already setting his bags on the counter, moving with the kind of ease that comes from routine. He’s been Joe’s private chef long enough to know exactly where everything is—knives, spices, meal prep containers, all without a second thought.
“I’m good,” you answer, even though you’re very much not.
He pauses, wiping his hands on a towel. “You want me to whip something up for you? Eggs? Oatmeal?” He gestures toward the fridge. “I can make that quinoa bowl you liked last week?”
You grimace at the thought. The idea of food, anything warm, rich, or even remotely flavorful, almost make you gag. You press a hand to your belly, your palm tracing flat circles to the front tryin to sooth that backed up sensation, still feeling painfully full despite barely eating since last night.
“No thanks,” you mutter. “I feel like if I eat anything, I’ll actually combust.”
Morgan raises an eyebrow, but he doesn’t push. He’s seen you in various stages of pregnancy discomfort, the bloody noses, random crying fits over commercials, even that one time you cursed Joe’s sneakers for “squeaking too loud.” He knows better than to argue with you, especially this late in the game.
“Alright,” he says easily. “But if you change your mind, let me know and I can you something small and easy on the stomach.”
You mumble your thanks and sink deeper into the couch, moving around more easily now that the back pain has dissipated just enough to focus on what's really causing issues. Another cramp bubbles low in your belly, a little dull and you instinctively close your eyes, breathing through it. It’s really nothing. Just more of this stubborn indigestion that won’t quit.
Morgan, meanwhile, quietly moves around the kitchen, chopping vegetables and portioning out Joe’s post-workout meals. Every so often, you catch him glancing your way. He’s trying to be subtle but it’s very noticeable. He can tell you’re uncomfortable and even though you said you were good, he still feels like he should do something to help.
There's something about your silence, the way you’ve barely talked or how you keep pressing your hand to your stomach just nags at him.
He steps away from the counter and pulls out his phone. After a moment of hesitation, he types out a text to Joe:
Hey man, just FYI, Y/N isn’t feeling great. Says it’s indigestion, but she looks a little off. Doesn’t want to eat. Not trying to overstep, but figured you’d want to know.
He stares at the message for a second longer before hitting send. Then he goes back to his chopping, keeping one ear tuned toward the living room…just in case.
Joe’s phone buzzes on the bench beside him just as he’s about to start his next set. He’s been pushing himself this morning, faster reps, heavier weight, trying to clear his mind. And maybe to get a few intense sessions going before the baby comes and he's too sleep deprived to put 300lbs on the bar for leg day. The further away they get to the due date, the harder it’s been for him to focus. Every morning feels like a guessing game. Will today be the day? And it’s been weighing on him more than he'd ever care to admit.
He grabs his phone, swiping away a layer of sweat on his forehead with his other hand. Seeing Morgan’s name on the screen makes his stomach tighten.
Joe doesn’t even think twice after reading the text, he’s already tapping the call button.
You pick up on the second ring, sounding tired but still calm.
“Hey,” you greet softly.
“Hey,” Joe says, his voice low with concern. “Morgan said you’re not feeling too hot?”
You let out a small sigh. “Yeah…just uncomfortable. Same stuff I’ve been dealing with, stomach feels a little dodgy, like I’m too full even though I barely ate. It’s nothing worse than what I’ve felt the last few weeks, though. I promise.”
Joe leans forward on the bench, still breathing a little hard from his workout. “You sure? I can be home in fifteen. Maybe even less than that if you need me.”
“No, no,” you insist. “Seriously, I’m fine. Take your time.”
But then you hesitate and Joe hears it.
“…Actually,” you add awkwardly, “Can you um…can you ask your assistant to grab me some prune juice? And those Olly constipation gummies?”
There’s a brief silence.
“Prune juice?” Joe echoes, biting back a grin.
“Don’t,” you warn immediately, your voice sharp with embarrassment. “Don’t you dare laugh.”
Joe can’t help himself, a quiet chuckle slips out, and you groan.
“I hate this,” you mutter. “I’m literally begging you to send someone to buy me prune juice. I might die of humiliation before this baby even comes out.”
“Hey,” Joe soothes, his voice warm now, teasing forgotten. “Don’t even worry about it. You’re carrying our baby. If you need prune juice, gummies, or whatever else, I’ll make it happen.”
“You better,” you grumble, but there’s a small smile in your voice. “You did this to me.”
“I know and I’m sorry. I’ll text her now,” Joe promises. “And I’ll finish up fast, just in case.”
“Thanks, babe.”
“Love you.”
You sigh, wanting to actually be swallowed by the couch, “love you too.”
As Joe hangs up, he’s already pulling up his assistant’s number, typing out the most ridiculous grocery request he’s ever had to send.
Hey, can you grab some prune juice and Olly constipation gummies and drop them off at the house? Don’t ask. Just trust me.
He pauses, smirks, and adds:
Maybe get some peonies too. The biggest bouquet they have. Just in case.
He sends the message, then grabs his towel and heads for the his last few sets. He’s not taking his time after all.
Joe steps through the front door less than 30 minutes after his call, tossing his keys onto the counter. The first thing he sees is the half-empty cup of prune juice and the opened bottle of laxative gummies sitting beside it. He frowns, setting his gym bag down.
“Where is she?” he asks Morgan, who’s finishing up in the kitchen.
Morgan just jerks his thumb toward the stairs. “Up there. Been a while.”
Joe mutters a quick thanks and heads for the staircase, taking the steps two at a time. His heart’s racing, not from panic, exactly, but from that anxious feeling that’s been simmering under his skin all morning. He stops at the bathroom door and knocks gently.
“Babe?” His voice is soft but concerned.
“I need a minute,” you groan from the other side of the door.
Joe’s hand rests flat against the wood. “You okay?”
“No,” you huff miserably. “This is the worst day of my life.”
Joe’s chest tightens. “Aw, c’mon,” he says gently, trying to keep things light. “You’re being a little dramatic.”
“I’m not,” you snap. “I am trapped in here, sweating like I just ran a marathon, and I’m pretty sure if I push any harder I’m gonna launch this baby straight into the toilet.”
Joe winces. “That doesn’t sound great.”
“Yeah.”
He pauses, unsure how to fix this. “Do you want me to call the doctor?” he asks carefully.
“No! God no.” you say quickly. “This is already horrible enough. I don’t need the entire city knowing my body is massively betraying me right now.”
Joe stifles a laugh but instantly regrets it. This isn’t funny, you’re uncomfortable, exhausted, and miserable, and here he is, helpless on the other side of the door.
“I’m sorry,” he says sincerely. “I just…I hate that you’re feeling like this.”
For a moment, there’s silence. Then you sigh, voice softer now.
“I really need this baby out of my body,” you murmur, frustration and exhaustion bleeding through your words.
Joe leans his head against the door. “I know, babe.” His voice is low and steady now. “But you’re doing amazing, okay? Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he says firmly. “Look, you’ve made it this far. You’re tough as hell. This whole prune juice situation? Just a bump in the road.”
You let out a weak laugh. “Doesn't exactly feel like it. I cannot believe this is my life right now.”
“Well…” Joe grins. “Look on the bright side, if this baby does show up today, we’ll have one heck of a story to tell at their wedding.”
Your groan echoes through the door, but this time there’s a hint of a smile behind it.
“I’m serious!” Joe teases. “We’ll be like, ‘Oh yeah, your mom went into labor right after she chugged prune juice and I gave her a pep talk while she sat in the bathroom for 45 minutes.’”
“You’re the worst,” you mutter, but you’re laughing now, really laughing, and Joe feels like that’s a win.
“And yet you chose me,” he says softly.
“And I've been contemplating all of my life decisions ever since,” you answer, still stuck in the bathroom, still uncomfortable, but maybe feeling just a little bit better.
The bathroom door creaks open, and you step out looking thoroughly defeated. Your face a little damp from sweating, and your features riddled with exhaustion.
“What’s the verdict?” he asks carefully.
You shake your head with a tired sigh. “Nothing.”
Joe frowns. “Nothing?”
“Not a thing.” You throw your hands up in frustration. “I drank prune juice, ate those stupid gummies, and sat in there forever just hoping something would happen. Now I'm just worn out.”
His lips twitch like he’s fighting a smile, but he knows better than to push his luck.
“I’m sorry, babe,” he says gently. “Come on, let’s get you in bed.”
You don’t argue. Your body feels heavy, your stomach taut, not from cramps, just…pressure. Like your baby’s taking up every possible inch inside you and still isn’t satisfied. You crawl into bed with a quiet groan, tugging the blankets up over you.
Joe leans down, pressing a kiss to your forehead before grabbing a fresh shirt and some shorts.
“I’m gonna shower,” he says softly. “I’ll be right back.”
You mumble something in response, something sleepy and unintelligible. Your eyes are already closing as he heads to the bathroom.
When he comes back a few minutes later, his hair still damp, Joe’s wearing one of his old workout shirts and a pair of loose shorts. He tosses his towel in the laundry basket and moves quietly to your side of the bed.
You’re half-asleep, curled on your side, breathing slow and steady. He sits beside you, shifting carefully so the mattress barely dips. His hand finds your back, fingers pressing into the curve of your spine, tracing soft circles in the exact spots he knows help you relax.
After a moment, his hand drifts lower, resting on the hard, round curve of your belly. His palm molds to it, and his brow furrows slightly.
“Hey,” he whispers. “Does this hurt?”
Your eyes barely crack open. “Not really,” you murmur. “Just feels…overstuffed. Like he’s running out of room.”
Joe hums thoughtfully, his thumb absently stroking over the stretched fabric of your shirt. He can feel the tension beneath his hand. Your stomach’s so compact, like a drum. His fingers press a little firmer, not enough to hurt, just enough to feel for movement.
And then, right beneath his palm, the baby moves, slow and heavy, like he’s just as uncomfortable as you are.
“Wow,” Joe breathes with a soft chuckle. “Yeah, he’s definitely running out of space.”
You smile sleepily, your hand sliding over his, locking your fingers together on your belly. “Feels like he’s trying to punch his way out at this point.”
“Well,” Joe grins, “I’d prefer that over prune juice doing the job.”
You snort, barely opening one eye to shoot him a look. “Don’t make me laugh. I’m too tired.”
“Alright, alright,” he whispers, pressing one more kiss to your cheek. “Get some rest.”
You’re out cold in minutes, your breathing soft and even. Joe shifts carefully, reaching for his iPad on the nightstand. He pulls up a documentary, something about space exploration. It’s the kind of background noise that won’t steal too much of his attention and settles in beside you.
He doesn’t feel comfortable leaving you alone right now. Something about the way you’ve been moving, tired, off and just not quite yourself keeps him rooted to the spot. So he stays, one arm still resting protectively across your belly, just in case.
Just in case today’s the day.
Joe barely stirs when you shift out of bed a little over an hour later. He feels the dip in the mattress, hears the quiet shuffle of your feet as you head to the bathroom, but he doesn’t think much of it. Finally, he figures, letting his eyes drift back to his iPad. The prune juice and gummies must’ve kicked in.
But then he hears it, the familiar, awful sound of you gagging, followed by the unmistakable heave of you being sick.
He’s out of bed in an instant, the iPad forgotten on the sheets.
“Hey, hey,” Joe calls as he reaches the bathroom, his voice rising with concern. The door’s cracked open, and he pushes it the rest of the way.
You’re kneeling in front of the toilet, one hand gripping the side of it for balance. Your whole body shudders as another wave hits, and Joe feels his stomach twist.
“Aw, babe…” He kneels beside you immediately, one hand steadying your back. His other hand reaches for a hair tie from the counter, carefully pulling your hair away from your face.
You’re gasping for air, eyes watery and face pale. “I’m…I’m fine,” you choke out between breaths, but Joe’s not convinced.
“Yeah, no offense, but you don’t look fine,” he says softly, his hand still rubbing soothing circles on your back.
You rest your forehead against your arm on the toilet seat, completely drained. “I think I just overdid it with the prune juice.”
“Or the gummies,” Joe adds with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood.
“Or both,” you mutter. “God, this is so embarrassing.”
“Hey,” Joe says firmly, squeezing your shoulder. “None of that. You’re growing a whole human. If anyone’s allowed to have a rough day, it’s you.”
You let out a weak, breathy laugh. “Yeah, well… my ‘rough day’ feels like a disaster movie at this point.”
Joe reaches over, grabbing a washcloth and running it under cool water. He kneels again, gently pressing it to the back of your neck.
“Better?” he asks.
“Mmhmm.” You sigh, closing your eyes as the cool cloth eases some of the heat in your face.
Joe’s quiet for a moment, but his hand never stops moving slow circles on your back, steady and calming. Then, carefully, he asks, “You sure this is just the prune juice?”
You hesitate. “I think so?” you say, but there’s doubt in your voice now. “I mean…I’ve felt weird all day. Maybe this is just my body trying to reset or something. I actually feel a little better.”
Joe’s eyes narrow slightly, but he doesn’t say anything else. Instead, he leans down and kisses your temple, his hand still resting warm and steady against your back.
“Okay,” he says quietly. “Let’s get you back to bed. But if this gets worse…I’m calling the doctor and it's not really up for discussion after that.”
For once, you don’t fight him.
“Deal,” you mumble, too tired to argue.
Joe keeps a steady arm wrapped around you as he helps you back to bed, moving slow and careful like you might break. You’re shaky and exhausted, and each step feels heavier than the last.
“Almost there,” he murmurs as you reach the edge of the mattress.
But just as you’re about to sit down, that sick, awful feeling rolls through you again and twisting your stomach into knots.
“Wait,” you choke out, one hand flying to your mouth. “I’m gonna—”
You barely make it back to the bathroom before you’re on your knees again, heaving into the toilet. Joe’s right behind you, one hand supporting your waist, the other protecting your hair.
“It’s okay,” he soothes, his voice calm even though his heart’s racing. “I’ve got you.”
But then just as you’re catching your breath, something shifts inside you. A low, unsettling pressure that feels nothing like the cramping and indigestion you’ve battled all day. For a split second, you think you’ve just lost control of your bladder—but then warmth rushes down your legs, soaking your pajama pants and pooling rapidly on the tile floor beneath you.
Your heart skips a beat, and your breath catches.
“Oh my God,” you whisper. “Joe…”
He’s already looking down, eyes wide as they flick from your stunned face to the growing puddle on the floor.
“Is that…?” he starts, but you nod before he can finish.
“My water just broke.” Your voice is a shaky mix of shock, disbelief, and maybe even a little relief.
For a moment, neither of you speaks. Then Joe exhales a stunned breath and lets out a soft laugh. The kind that sounds part amazed, part terrified.
“Well…that explains a lot.”
You laugh too, breathless, disbelieving and suddenly the day’s chaos makes sense. The weird pressure, the nausea, the miserable discomfort…your body wasn’t betraying you. It was getting ready.
“Okay,” Joe says, snapping back into focus. “I’m gonna grab your hospital bag, and call Dr. Chen.” He presses a quick kiss to your damp forehead. “We’re having a baby today.”
“Today,” you echo, still trying to wrap your head around it.
The worst day of your life? Maybe not. Maybe it’s just the start of the best one yet.
“Babe, I really think you should just wait until we get there,” Joe says, his voice tight with worry as you pull a towel from the rack.
“Joe,” you groan, stepping carefully out of your soaked pajama pants. “I just threw up, my water broke, and I’m—I don’t even know what else is happening down there. But it’s gross. And I need a shower. Desperately, I'm literally not going anywhere like this.”
He exhales through his nose, clearly fighting the urge to argue. “I get that, but the hospital’s—”
“I just need twenty minutes,” you interrupt, your voice softer now. You press a hand to your belly, feeling a lot lighter now, mentally trying to wrap your mind around the fact that this will only get worse from here. And then you'll be a parent for the rest of your life, there's no going back now. “The next time I walk into this bathroom, there’s gonna be a baby in my arms. That’s…that’s insane. I just need a minute to...breathe.”
Joe’s face softens instantly. His shoulders relax, and he steps forward, cupping your face in his hands.
“Alright,” he says quietly. “I guess you can take a few.”
You nod, suddenly feeling a lump rise in your throat. This is happening. It’s really happening.
Joe presses a kiss to your forehead and steps back. “I'm gonna grab you some clothes but I’ll be right out here if you need anything,” he promises.
You step into the shower, letting the warm water wash over you. For the first time all day, your muscles seem to unclench. The spray rinses away the sweat, the nausea, and thankfully, the sticky amniotic fluid that had left you feeling miserable.
Your mind drifts as you stand beneath the stream, one hand resting protectively on your stomach. The idea that this is the last time you’ll shower before becoming a mom is overwhelming. Exciting, terrifying, surreal. All of it is swirling together until you can’t tell where one feeling ends and the next begins.
You take a deep breath, letting the steam calm you.
“We’re gonna be okay,” you whisper, your fingers tracing slow circles over your belly. “We’re doing this.”
When you finally turn off the water and step out, Joe’s still waiting. Your hospital bag is by the door, a fresh pair of clothes is folded neatly on the bed. He looks up, smiling softly when he sees you.
“Feel better?” he asks.
You nod, drying your face with the towel. “Yeah…a lot better.”
You step out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, steam curling behind you as Joe looks up from his spot by the bed.
“Perfect timing,” he says, standing and grabbing the clothes he set out. “I brought your comfy leggings and that big sweatshirt you like.”
“You’re the best,” you murmur, taking the pile of clothes from him.
You get dressed slowly, feeling calmer now that you’re clean and in fresh clothes. Joe’s already crouched down by the door, untying your sneakers so they’re easy to slip on.
“Alright,” he says, patting one of them. “Let’s get these on and—”
Suddenly, a deep, pulling feeling grabs at your abdomen like someone’s cinching a belt around your waist.
You freeze, one hand flying to your belly as your breath hitches.
“Whoa—hey,” Joe says, instantly alert. “You okay?”
You press your eyes shut, breathing through the wave that comes and goes thankfully much faster than you thought it would. “I think…I think that was a contraction.”
Joe’s eyes go wide. “Do you alright, like you're good now? 1-10?”
“I think so. That was like a four. Wasn't bad,” you mumble out, slowly moving to sit.
Joe’s already moving, one hand on your arm to steady you as you lower yourself carefully onto the edge of the bed.
“Alright, just breathe,” he says, his voice calm but focused. “You’re good. We’re good.”
He grabs one of your sneakers and kneels in front of you.
“Okay,” he mutters, sliding the shoe onto your foot and tying it quickly. “Nice and easy.”
You’re still catching your breath when he grabs the second shoe, his fingers working fast but gentle.
“You good?” he asks again, glancing up.
You nod, still feeling shaky but relieved the pain has passed. “Yeah…this is just. Crazy.”
Joe gives your knee a reassuring squeeze. “Hey,” he says, grinning as he grabs the hospital bag. “I know you’re feeling a lot right now…but this is kind of exciting, right?”
You let out a breathy laugh. “Terrifying, but yeah…exciting.”
“We’ve got this,” Joe promises, his hand sliding into yours.
And somehow, as you walk together toward the stairs your body still aching, your nerves buzzing, you can't help but smile at the fact that you get to do this with your best friend.
Joe steps closer, his hand sliding to your waist. “Good,” he murmurs, kissing the side of your head. “Because I’m pretty sure our kid’s on a mission to meet us ASAP.”
You smile, a genuine one that takes over your entire being and for the first time all day, you feel ready.
You and Joe make your way downstairs, his arm still firmly around your waist as he helps you down each step. Your heart’s racing now, the nerves mixing with a strange kind of excitement. The contraction has passed, but the tension in your body still lingers, reminding you that things are really happening.
As you reach the bottom, you’re greeted by the smell of something delicious—a mix of fresh herbs and sizzling veggies. Morgan’s in the kitchen, expertly preparing lunch as always, his back to you both.
He turns when he hears you walking down the final step, his eyes landing on your focused face and Joe’s tense, wide-eyed expression. His brow furrows instantly, and without missing a beat, he sets down the knife he’s holding.
“You guys heading to the hospital?” Morgan asks, his voice even but his gaze quickly scanning you for any signs of distress.
Joe doesn’t even try to hide the mix of anxiety and excitement in his voice. “Yeah…we’re on our way. Her water broke.”
Morgan doesn’t flinch, but his lips press into a thin line, his eyes flicking between you and Joe. “Alright,” he says, nodding. “Do you need me to do anything, or are you guys good?”
You shake your head. “We’ve got it. Just, uh, just wanted to let you know.”
Joe’s still holding your hand, but now his grip tightens just slightly as if grounding you both in the chaos of the moment. “You know, Morgan, I really wish you could come with us for moral support,” Joe says with a tired grin.
Morgan gives a wry smile, though there’s no humor in his eyes. “I think you guys have that covered. I’ll hold down the fort here.”
You let out a breathy laugh, but it catches in your throat. “Thanks, Morgan…you really don’t know how much we appreciate everything.”
Morgan smiles, giving you a quick, understanding nod. “Don’t mention it. Just get to that hospital and have that baby, alright? And hurry up and bring home so I can finally know his name.”
Joe gives him a thumbs up as he helps you toward the door, your heart pounding as you walk toward the car. But the truth is, it’s finally happening. The baby’s on the way, and it's full speed ahead.
Joe’s hands are steady as he helps you into the passenger seat of the car, making sure you’re comfortable despite the cramping pressure is increasing in intensity by the minute, it seems. He leans in one last time to check the car seat, his fingers lightly brushing over the straps as he double-checks everything. His heart races, it’s almost too much to wrap his mind around.
The next time he sits in this car, his son will be in that seat.
“You ready?” he asks, his voice low and calm as he looks over at you, already buckling himself into the driver’s seat.
You nod, still trying to catch your breath but feeling a little more grounded now. “Yeah, let's do this.”
Joe gives you a small, reassuring smile before pulling out his phone. He presses a few buttons, his thumb hovering over the call button as he looks over at you.
“You texted your mom earlier, right?" You nod. "I’m gonna call my parents,” he says softly, his eyes focused on the screen but his attention still split between you and the road. "I know my mom probably already has a bag packed to stay with us for a few days."
You give him a small nod, squeezing his hand once before he presses the call button.
It rings twice before his mom picks up.
“Joe? Is everything okay?” her voice is full of excitement and anticipation like she already knows what he’s about to say.
“Hey, Mom,” he says quickly, trying to keep his voice light but failing to hide the excitement underneath. “Yeah, everything’s good. Just wanted to let you know, we’re on our way to the hospital. Y/N’s water broke.”
There’s a beat of silence on the other end before she responds, her voice almost breathless. “Oh my God! Oh, Joe, that’s amazing! You’re going to be a dad! A real dad!”
Joe laughs, his nerves finally starting to settle at the sound of her voice. “I know, Mom. It’s happening, right now.”
“Okay, okay, we’re on our way. We’ll be there as soon as we can.” She’s clearly already getting ready to leave, but she pauses. “Tell that sweet girl we love her and we’re so excited.”
“I will, Mom. Love you.”
As he hangs up, he slips the phone into the cupholder and lets out a slow breath.
“Everyone should now be on their way,” Joe says, his hand gently squeezing yours. “It’s happening, babe. Our little guy is on the move.”
You smile softly, your fingers curling around his as you look out the window, knowing that the next chapter of your lives is about to begin and you’re ready.
You rest your head back against the seat, feeling the dull ache in your lower belly starting to build again. With one hand on your stomach, you fumble for your phone with the other.
“Who are you calling?” Joe asks, his eyes flicking between you and the road.
“Nikki,” you mutter, already scrolling for her name. “She’ll kill me if I don’t tell her.”
The phone rings twice before she picks up.
“Hey! What’s up?” Nikki’s voice is bright and casual, like she’s got no idea you’re in the middle of the most intense moment of your life.
“Hi,” you breathe, wincing as the ache sharpens. “Sooo…we’re heading to the hospital. Baby time.”
“OH MY GOD!” Nikki practically shrieks. “I’m grabbing my stuff right now. What do you need? Snacks? Chargers? Comfort items? A playlist? Should I bring my—”
Your hand clenches tightly around the phone as the contraction surges, fiery and all-consuming. Without thinking, your other hand shoots out and grips Joe’s thigh. Hard.
“Ahhh—oh, hang on, hang on—” you groan into the phone, squeezing Joe’s leg your own personal stress ball.
Joe’s eyes widen for a second before his hand finds yours. He presses his palm over your knuckles, grounding you as he speaks softly.
“Breathe, baby. Just breathe…I’ve got you. We’re almost there. About ten minutes out.”
The pain peaks, sharp and relentless, before finally fading enough for you to catch your breath.
“Sorry,” you gasp into the phone, blinking back tears as you rub his thigh, apologizing again. “That was a bad one.”
“Don’t apologize!” Nikki cries. “I’m on my way. I’ll meet you there, I swear.”
“Okay…just hurry,” you say weakly before hanging up.
But before you can even set the phone down, another contraction slams into you. This one much stronger and faster.
“Oh no, no, no, no—” you gasp, both hands now cupping your belly.
“Babe?” Joe’s voice sharpens, one hand gripping the steering wheel and the other reaching for you again.
“Joe, just—” you gasp, your voice thin and desperate. “Just run the light.”
He doesn’t even hesitate. His foot taps the gas, and the car surges forward through the red light. Horns blare from both directions, but Joe doesn’t care. His knuckles are white on the wheel, his gaze laser-focused on the road ahead.
Joe’s arm is weighed down by the hospital bag, your overnight duffel, and a smaller tote crammed with last-minute items but still, he keeps his left hand free, reaching out for you as the elevator doors slide closed.
“Here,” he says softly, offering his hand.
You shake your head quickly, barely able to speak as another contraction tears through you. Instead, you grip the elevator railing with both hands, your fingers curling tightly around the cold metal like it’s the only thing keeping you upright.
“Wow,” you grit out, your forehead dropping forward to rest against your arm. Your breathing stutters, short and sharp as you try to focus on anything but the pressure building inside you. Now that you were out of the car you could feel the shift, he was making his way down and you felt like you had could close your legs even if you wanted to.
Joe’s face tightens with concern, but he doesn’t force anything. He steps closer instead, hovering beside you, helplessly watching you fight through it.
“It’s happening so fast,” you choke out, your voice strained and shaky. “I didn’t think it would…feel like this yet.”
Joe shifts the bags higher on his shoulder and presses his palm against the small of your back, rubbing slow, firm circles.
“I know,” he murmurs, his voice low and steady. “But you’re doing so good. Just keep breathing. I’m right here.”
Another contraction swells, more forceful than the last, and your breath falters. You grip the railing even harder, your knuckles turning white as a sharp, stretching pressure radiates low in your belly and deep into your back.
“Oh my God,” you gasp, your knees threatening to buckle as you circled your hips. "I feel like I need to squat or something."
Joe’s hand freezes for a second before he quickly presses a kiss to your shoulder. “Okay, okay…we’re almost there,” he reassures you, glancing anxiously at the glowing floor numbers above the door. “Just hang on a little longer.”
The elevator feels like it’s crawling. Each second drags, and by the time the doors finally slide open, you’re trembling, overwhelmed, breathless, and bracing for whatever’s coming next.
Joe doesn’t hesitate. He grabs the bags, then steps right back to your side, curling his arm around you as you take one shaky step forward.
“You’re almost there,” he says again, his voice softer now. “We’re so close, babe…you’re almost there.”
“I’ve got you,” he mutters, more to himself than to you. “Just hang on, baby.”
You clench your teeth, breathing through the pain as best you can, your fingers still locked tightly with his.
“We’re almost there,” Joe repeats, glancing at you again. “I swear we’re almost there.”
The moment you step into the hospital room, you barely register Nikki and your mom standing by the bed. They’re both mid-laugh, probably swapping nervous jokes to ease the tension. But their smiles vanish when they see you.
“Oh honey,” your mom gasps, stepping forward.
“You okay?” Nikki chimes in, wide-eyed.
You barely manage a quick, shaky hug with each of them before muttering, “I need to pee. And I need my pants off right now.”
Without waiting for a response, you shuffle straight to the bathroom, tugging your leggings down as you go. The pressure is unbearable, like your body is trying to turn itself inside out.
Joe follows you to the door but stops just outside, lingering anxiously.
“You got it?” he calls softly.
“Yeah just give me a second,” you manage through gritted teeth, gripping the bathroom counter as another contraction swells.
A knock at the main door draws Joe’s attention. The midwife steps inside—calm and confident, like she’s seen this a thousand times before.
“I hear we’ve got a baby in a hurry,” she says with a warm smile.
Joe steps aside as she sets her bag down. “She’s in the bathroom,” he says, running a hand down his face. “Contractions went from nothing to…everything in no time.”
The midwife grabs a pair of gloves. “I’ll check her as soon as she’s ready,” she says, her tone soothing yet no-nonsense.
The next contraction slams into you right there in the bathroom, stealing your breath. You brace both hands on the counter, bowing your head as you ride it out.
“Fuck me, oh my God—” you whimper, feeling the pressure deepen.
Joe’s voice comes from just outside the door. “Babe? Want me to come in?”
“N-no,” you stammer. “I’ll be out in a minute.”
The moment the contraction eases, you stumble out of the bathroom, your shirt a little damp with sweat. Your mom and Nikki both look startled, but the midwife steps in like she’s been waiting for this exact moment.
“Let’s get you on the bed,” she says gently. “I’d like to check you. Sounds like things are moving fast.”
You don’t argue. You’re too exhausted, too overwhelmed to care about modesty anymore. Joe helps you to the bed, his strong hands guiding you as you climb up and awkwardly lie back.
The midwife works quickly, gloved fingers checking your progress. You barely notice her calm smile until she looks up at you.
“Well,” she says brightly, “you’re at about eight centimeters. So you're either already in transition or it's coming soon.”
Joe’s eyes widen. “Eight? Already?”
“Oh my God,” Nikki whispers, grabbing your mom’s arm.
“That’s amazing,” your mom says, her voice shaky with emotion.
You don’t feel amazing. You feel like your body’s on fire, like you’re splitting in two or you’re going to explode.
“I don't think I can do this,” you murmur, your voice thin and ragged.
Joe steps closer, pressing his forehead to yours. “Yes, you can,” he says firmly, his hand curling around yours. “You’re doing it right now.”
“And you’re so close,” the nurse adds, her voice warm and steady. “Your body’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to.”
The room feels like organized chaos. Voices murmuring, hands adjusting, your body shifting from one position to the next as you desperately try to find some relief.
Your mom is behind you now, her legs stretched out as you lean back against her, the cool fabric of her shirt pressed against your sweaty back. The exercise ball in your lap is your only comfort, something to cling to as you rock back and forth, focusing on the rhythm instead of the relentless waves of pressure.
Nikki kneels at your side, her fingers digging into your hips, deep, firm pressure that somehow cuts through the worst of the pain.
“Right there,” you gasp between breaths. “Don’t stop. Stay right there.”
“I got you,” Nikki promises, her fingers tightening like a vise.
Joe hovers nearby, pacing like a caged animal. His eyes flick anxiously between you, your mom, and Nikki, like he’s looking for some way to help, some role to play that doesn’t involve just watching you hurt.
Finally, you glance up at him, chest heaving.
“Go grab some food,” you rasp.
Joe’s brow furrows. “What? No. I’m not leaving you.”
“Babe, seriously,” you plead. “You haven’t eaten all day, and you’re about to be up all night. Just go. I promise I’ll be okay for 20 minutes.”
Joe opens his mouth to argue when the door swings open and his mom, Robin, steps inside with a bag of food in her hands
“Perfect timing,” you breathe. You hadn’t bothered to check your phone since asking her to grab whatever Morgan was cooking for Joe to have with him.
Robin gives you a soft smile and crosses the room to her son.
“I stopped by the house,” she says, handing Joe the bag. “Morgan had it all packed up, ready to go.”
Joe stares down at the food, still hesitant. “I don’t know…”
You shift uncomfortably against the ball, another contraction creeping up your spine. “Joe… please,” you whisper, voice tight. “Just eat. I need you at 100%.”
His eyes soften, and finally, he steps back toward the chair in the corner, setting the bag down and opening the container.
“Thank you,” you say softly, reaching for his hand before he sits down. Your fingers squeeze his, a silent reminder that, even in the middle of all this, you’re still thinking about him.
He leans down, pressing a kiss to your temple. “I love you so much,” he murmurs.
“Love you too,” you whisper back, just as another contraction swells, strong enough to steal your breath.
Nikki’s hands tighten on your hips again, grounding you.
“Deep breaths,” your mom murmurs, her arms wrapping around your shoulders, holding you close as you ride it out.
And across the room, Joe watches you, fork frozen halfway to his mouth, amazed at how he had no idea when he woke up this morning that this would be how the day would go.
You squeeze Nikki’s hand hard as another contraction hits, letting the exercise ball go, "I need to move, this isn't working."
“You’ve got this,” she whispers, helping you lay on your side in the bed.
The room is quieter now, the energy calmer. After hours of constant movement, noise, and coaching, it’s just you and Joe. The dim lighting makes everything feel softer, less overwhelming, but the pressure inside you is still unrelenting.
You’re perched on a birth stool, legs spread wide, elbows resting on your knees, letting out soft sounds of pain. It’s not glamorous, but it’s oddly the most comfortable you’ve felt in hours, something about the position giving your body a break from gravity’s pull.
Dignity is beyond out the window. Your sports bra is damp with sweat. The waistband of your shorts is folded low beneath your belly, your body radiating heat like a furnace.
Joe’s crouched in front of you, arms resting on his knees, watching you closely.
“You okay?” he asks softly, like he’s afraid to break the calm.
You nod, rolling your shoulders back as you take a deep breath. “Weirdly…yeah. This is…kind of nice.”
His lips twitch, like he’s fighting a smile. “Can’t say I pictured it going like this, but hey, whatever works.”
You huff a weak laugh, but it quickly turns into a low groan as another contraction tightens across your belly. You shift your hips instinctively, while closing your eyes, trying to ease the pressure. Joe reaches out, rubbing slow circles on your thigh.
“Hey,” he murmurs, his voice steady. “Do you wanna try the shower? Might help you cool off a little.”
You drag a hand over your face, skin warm and sticky. The thought of cool water washing over you sounds like heaven.
“Yeah,” you breathe. “That actually sounds really good.”
“Okay,” Joe says immediately, standing walking over to turn the shower on, adjusting the temperature just the way you like it.
By the time he turns back, you’re already trying to peel off your shorts with shaky hands. Joe steps in to help, easing them down your legs, his touch gentle and patient.
“Couple more steps,” he murmurs softly, holding onto to you like his life depends on it. Right now, it definitely does. He has to get you through this. And he’s going to, no matter what.
When the shower’s ready, he guides you inside, one arm curled protectively around your waist. The warm spray hits your skin, and you exhale a long, shaky breath, the first moment of relief you’ve felt in what feels like hours.
Joe steps just inside the shower, still in his t-shirt and shorts, bracing one hand against the wall to keep steady as he rubs slow circles across your back.
“That better?” he asks quietly.
You nod, your forehead pressing into his chest.
“So much better,” you murmur, feeling his heartbeat steady and strong beneath your skin.
For a few precious moments, it’s just you, Joe, and the sound of the water. Everything is quiet, calm, and still.
Joe grabs the showerhead with his left hand, adjusting the spray to a steady stream. With his right hand, he reaches out for you.
“Here,” he says gently. “Squeeze if you need to.”
You eye his hand warily, knowing full well what your grip’s capable of right now.
“I’m not crushing your throwing hand,” you say through a shaky breath. “I’m not about to have Bengals fans making wanted posters of me.”
Joe huffs a quiet laugh, then switches the showerhead to his right hand and holds out his left instead.
“Alright, fine,” he says with a small laugh. “This one’s expendable.”
You let out a breathy chuckle, gripping his left hand as the next contraction rolls in. You groan low in your throat, bending forward slightly as the pressure tightens across your belly and back.
“Okaaay, okay…breathe,” Joe soothes, running the cool stream of water down your spine. The relief isn’t perfect, but it’s enough to keep you from feeling like you’re drowning in the pain.
The next sound that leaves your mouth is somewhere between a moan and a wail, guttural, raw, and absolutely unflattering.
“Oh my God,” you pant afterward. “I sound like a dying cow.”
Joe leans in, pressing a kiss to the damp side of your head. “That’s great,” he murmurs, “I love cows.”
You let out a breathless laugh, too exhausted to manage anything more.
“I’m serious,” he continues, his thumb tracing slow circles across the back of your hand. “Strong, beautiful…and a little stubborn when they’re in a mood.”
“I hate you,” you mutter, even though you’re smiling.
“No, you don’t,” Joe says softly, running the cool water down your back again. “You’re doing amazing…and I’m so proud of you.”
Your fingers squeeze his hand, hard, as another contraction tears through you. Joe doesn’t flinch. He just holds on tighter, staying steady and solid beside you.
“You’ve got this,” he whispers. “I’m right here.”
The pressure in your lower back and pelvis suddenly shifts—deeper, sharper —and a new kind of discomfort blooms, making it impossible to stay seated.
“I can’t sit anymore,” you gasp, wincing as you shift your weight. “It’s too much. My butt hurts.”
Joe’s eyes widen, but he doesn’t hesitate. He slides an arm around your waist, steadying you as you rise shakily to your feet.
The second you’re upright, it’s like gravity grabs hold. A powerful downward pressure that takes your breath away. Before you can even think to stop it, your body bears down on its own, your muscles clenching and pushing without permission.
“Hahh! Okay…okay. Oh my god.” you cry, one hand shooting between your legs on instinct.
“What? What is it?” Joe’s voice is sharp now, his eyes scanning you in panic.
You wanted to answer but you couldn't talk. You couldn't do anything but focus inward and do exactly what your body was demanding, curling in on yourself, bending your knees slightly. The sounds you were making were different, less breathing and more deep sounds, guttural...primal. Joe freezes for half a second before snapping into action.
“Babe? Oh you’re…you’re pushing." He notes, like saying it out loud would make it less daunting. "Alright, okay just…hang on.” He carefully turns off the shower, wrapping one arm securely around you. “We need to make sure you’re at 10, babe. Can you try to hold on for a second? It's hard, I know, we just gotta make sure you're ready so you don't hurt yourself."
“I can’t stop,” you pant, rocking your hips desperately, trying to breathe through the overwhelming urge to bear down. One hand grips your stomach, the other braced between your legs like you can physically hold your son inside.
Joe’s grip tightens. “I know—I know,” he says, trying to keep his voice calm. “Just…just try. I’m gonna get your mom or Nikki.”
You barely register him yelling as he helps you stagger out of the bathroom.
“Hey, I need someone to hit the call button. Right now.”
Your mom bursts into the bathroom just as you half-squat in the shower, your body pushing again with a force that steals your breath.
“I'm either shitting myself or he’s coming,” you choke out, tears springing to your eyes.
Your mom runs back to the bed and slams her hand on the call button, calling for immediate medical assistance. Joe is only focused on you, one hand bracing your back, the other gripping your hand as your fingers dig into his palm.
The reality of what’s happening hits Joe like a freight train, Kai isn’t just coming, he’s right there. His breathing stutters, but he forces himself to focus. You’re leaning heavily against him, your face twisted in pain, but you’re still fighting, still pushing.
“Just breathe,” he says, his voice softer now, almost pleading. “You’re okay. You’re good. I’m right here.”
“I need…I need to move,” you gasp, your body desperate for a new position.
“Whenever you’re ready, we’ll take it slow,” he says, helping you shift onto your hands and knees. His arm stays braced beneath you, holding you steady as you adjust.
The moment your weight settles into place, another powerful contraction grips you, and you bear down hard, arching your back as you push. Your whole body shakes with the effort.
The nurse rushes in then with a few people trailing behind, her voice is calm but urgent. “Joe?” she says firmly, locking eyes with him as she kneels beside you. “I need you to stay right where you are, you’re doing great.”
Joe swallows hard and nods, his grip tightening on you as the she guides him.
“Okay, his head’s almost out,” the nurse says, motioning to one of the medical aids. She presses a cold compress into Joe’s hand. “Hold this here, help her stretch.”
Joe places the cool cloth against your skin, and you let out a shuddering sigh at the relief it brings.
“When she pushes again, I want you to support him. Don’t pull, just let him come.”
Joe’s fingers tremble slightly, but he nods again. “I’ve got him,” he says, more certain this time.
Another contraction rips through you, and you cry out, pressing your forehead into Joe’s shoulder as your body bears down.
“There you go, baby,” Joe whispers, his voice breaking. “You’re doing so good…so good.”
Suddenly, the baby’s head slips free into Joe’s waiting hands—warm, damp, and shockingly real.
“Holy shit,” Joe gasps, his voice barely a whisper. “…his head’s out.”
“Check for a cord.” The nurse cuts in.
Joe swallows hard and gently runs his fingers around the baby’s head, careful and precise. “No cord,” he says, relief flooding his voice.
You’re shaking, exhausted and overwhelmed, but Joe’s voice cuts through the noise.
“You can do this,” he whispers against your temple, pressing a kiss to your temple. “You’ve got this. I know you do.”
With the next contraction, you push hard, crying out as Kai’s shoulders slip free, followed by the rest of his tiny body. The midwife hands him a clean towel just in time to catch the warm, slippery weight of his baby boy, who enters the world with a rush of fluid and an angry, piercing cry.
“Oh my God,” Joe breathes, his voice breaking as he carefully lifts his son onto his back, cradling him in the fresh towel.
“He’s here,” Joe chokes out, pressing a kiss to your damp shoulder. “He’s here…and he’s so—oh my god. He’s actually here.”
Tears spill down your face as you reach back weakly, your fingertips brushing your son’s tiny hand.
“You did it,” Joe whispers, his voice thick with emotion. “You’re incredible.”
And as their son’s cries echo through the room, Joe can’t stop staring. His heart full, hand still steady on your back unbelievably overwhelmed by the sight of the strongest two people he’s ever known.
The sound of your baby’s first cry fills the room —loud, raw, and impossibly perfect. You let out a shaky breath, your body sagging with exhaustion and overwhelming relief.
“He’s here,” Joe whispers again, his voice breaking as he cradles your son’s tiny body in the towel. “Little man’s got some lungs on him.”
You chuckle softly, your fingertips brushing Kai’s damp hair. He’s warm and wriggling beneath Joe’s steady hands, his cries fierce and strong.
“Kai,” you rasp, barely able to get the word out through your tears. “Took you long enough sweet boy.”
Joe’s face crumples as he leans in closer, pressing his forehead to your shoulder. His free hand finds yours, fingers lacing together tightly. “I love you,” he murmurs, his voice thick. “Both of you. So much.
Outside the bathroom door, Nikki and your mom, who had been frozen in terrified silence through those final moments, each let out a shaky sigh of relief.
“Thank God,” Nikki whispers, pressing a hand to her heart.
Your mom wipes her eyes, her breath catching. “He’s here,” she says softly, her voice full of awe.
Neither of you can believe there’s a baby in your arms. His cries soften the moment your skin meets his, his tiny fingers curling against you.
Joe leans in, his arm around both of you, his lips brushing your temple. “He’s perfect,” he whispers.
The nurses gently lift Kai from your chest, cradling him in a soft towel as they prepare to take him to be cleaned up. The rest of her team surrounds you immediately after, checking you over and checking you over.
Joe’s eyes flicker between you and Kai, a mix of joy and worry crossing his face. “Do you need me here?” he asks, his voice full of concern. “I don’t want to leave you alone…”
You reach out, your hand still shaky from the delivery, but you manage to catch his. You smile softly, trying to ease his mind.
“I’m okay, Joe,” you whisper, your voice quiet but steady. “Go with him. He needs you, too.”
Joe’s eyes soften, his thumb brushing the back of your hand. He looks at Kai one last time before meeting your gaze, his heart torn. “But—”
“Joe,” you interrupt gently, “I’ll be fine. You go with him. He’s our son. You don’t want to miss a minute of that.”
A soft smile tugs at his lips, but there’s still hesitation in his eyes. Finally, with a reluctant nod, he turns to the nurses, his voice thick.
“I’ll be right over there with my adult diaper on.”
One of the nurses smiles and nods in reassurance, carefully carrying Kai toward the warmer. Joe hesitates for a moment longer, then leans down to kiss your forehead.
“I love you,” he says, his voice full of emotion.
“I love you too,” you reply, your eyes locking with his. “Now go.”
Joe gives you one last lingering look before following the nurses toward the table, his steps slow as he watches his son being gently cleaned. His heart, still racing, finds some calm in the knowledge that his family is safe and sound.
Back by your side, the midwife helps you settle into bed, cleaning you up gently but efficiently. You take a deep breath, your body aching but content, watching as Joe gazes down at Kai from the other side of the room, his hands trembling with a kind of wonder as he meets their son for the first time.
And you know, no matter what, your world has just changed forever.
Kai is carefully swaddled in a soft, baby blue blanket, his tiny body snug and warm. The nurses hand him off to Joe, and the second he holds his son in his arms, Joe’s breath catches. His gaze softens, and a smile spreads across his face as he looks down at the tiny face peeking out from the blanket.
He takes a long, stunned moment, unable to tear his eyes away from Kai. The baby’s icy blue eyes are still a little puffy, his features soft and delicate, but the resemblance is undeniable.
“Damn,” Joe breathes, his voice a mix of awe and disbelief. “He looks like me. He looks exactly like me.”
He turns toward you, still holding Kai carefully in his arms, and you can’t help but laugh softly at the sight.
“Well,” you tease, your voice still a little raspy from the delivery, “I guess my genes didn’t even try, huh?”
Joe chuckles, his eyes still glued to his son, as he gently walks over to you. “At least the hair is all yours,” he says with a smile, his tone full of pure love. “He’s perfect.”
He settles beside you on the bed, carefully placing Kai in your arms. As soon as you cradle him, Kai’s tiny hand instinctively grabs onto your finger, and your heart melts all over again.
Joe leans in, his lips brushing your temple as he whispers, “He’s ours.”
And in that moment, you know with every fiber of your being, everything you’ve ever dreamed of has just come true.
Nikki and your mom both take turns holding Kai, their faces glowing with pure joy as they marvel at him. Nikki, teary-eyed, gently rocks him in her arms, whispering softly to him as if already promising a lifetime of friendship and love. Your mom smiles warmly, brushing a finger along his cheek as she coos, “He’s perfect. Just like his parents.”
Joe watches them with a soft smile on his face, still in awe of how everything has fallen into place. His phone buzzes in his pocket, and he pulls it out, glancing at the screen. It’s his mom.
He steps into the corner of the room, his voice already trembling with emotion as he answers.
“Hey, Mom,” Joe says, a grin spreading across his face. “Kai’s here.”
Robin’s voice comes through loud and clear, excited and full of joy. “Oh my god, Joe! He’s here!”
“Yeah,” Joe laughs, his heart soaring. “He’s perfect, Mom. He looks just like me.”
Robin lets out a soft chuckle, clearly overjoyed. “I can’t wait to meet him! We’re on our way. We’ll be there in about 10 minutes.”
Joe looks over at you, his heart full, and you give him a small nod, a smile lighting up your face despite the exhaustion still lingering in your body. You reach out for Kai again, holding him close as you breathe in the scent of his soft skin, overwhelmed by the love that fills the room.
“We’ll be waiting,” Joe says into the phone, his voice thick with emotion. “Can’t wait for you to meet him.”
He hangs up and turns back to the room, his eyes softening as he takes in the sight of his son being held by your mom and Nikki.
“They’ll be here soon,” Joe says quietly, walking back to your side. “But for now, it’s just us.”
You smile, your eyes locking with his. “Just us.”
And as you both sit there, wrapped in the warmth of your new family, you can’t help but feel that, no matter how much time passes, you’ll never forget this moment, when everything finally felt complete.
A few minutes later, the door to the room opens and Robin and Jimmy walk in, their eyes immediately locking on Kai, still peacefully nestled in your arms.
Joe’s parents stop in their tracks, both of them overcome with emotion. Robin’s hand flies to her mouth, her eyes filling with tears as she takes a step closer, her voice trembling.
“Oh my God honey…he’s beautiful,” Robin whispers, her voice full of awe.
Jimmy, usually reserved, can’t help but smile widely as he steps forward, his eyes twinkling with pride. “Look at him,” he murmurs, his voice thick. “He’s got your eyes, Joe.”
Joe, standing next to you, watches as his parents approach. His heart swells seeing the look on their faces, pure, unfiltered love. He gently takes Kai from your arms and cradles him against his chest, carefully walking over to his parents.
Robin reaches out first, her hands trembling as she gently holds Kai for the first time. She gazes down at him, tears spilling over as she whispers, “My baby boy now has his own baby boy.”
Joe watches, his own emotions thick in his throat as he stands beside his mom, who can barely hold herself together. Robin leans in, kissing Kai’s tiny forehead, her voice breaking as she says, “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life.”
She looks up at Joe, her eyes full of love. “You’ve made me the happiest mom in the world.”
Joe smiles, his throat tight with emotion, but he manages to speak. “I just can’t believe he’s here. And he’s real.”
Jimmy, his voice soft, adds, “You’re a dad now, kid. It’s…it’s something else.”
Robin holds Kai a little longer, her tears falling freely now as she cradles him gently, overwhelmed by the fact that her son—her only child—has started a family of his own.
Joe watches, his hand resting gently on her shoulder, his heart swelling at the sight. “We’ve got a family now,” he says quietly, looking at you. “A real one.”
On a bright sunny day in May, Kai Joseph Burrow entered the world, all 10lbs 3oz of him.
And as the room fills with quiet, overwhelming emotion, you realize just how much love surrounds you, how deeply your family has grown, and how everything, no matter how difficult or challenging it’s been? It’s all led to this perfect moment.
Life would never be the same. And after today? You can’t wait to get this next chapter started.

ABBY ANDERSON X HOUSEWIFE!READER <33
a day in the life of you being abby’s cute little wife that she loves to come home to everyday, seeing what a typical weekend is for the two of you.
cw- meant to be very sweet but is very smutty as per usual 😋, overstimulation, praise, abby eats you out, brief moment of it in the kitchen but that’s all enjoy!
life couldn’t get better than this, you loved the feeling of waking up and going to bed to the sight of your wife abby, loving the feeling of waking up in her arms to get up and giggling as your pulled back into bed with the same strong biceps hugging your waist and placing pliant kisses on your back.
glistening in that sweet moment with her as the sun shines through the sheer curtains and you are finally released from abbys grip, leaving the bedroom to start on breakfast which consisted of eggs and toast along with some coffee for the both of you.
in the background you can hear abby making the bed since that was her job when it was the weekend and then move to stuffing her duffel bag full for her morning workout clothes. you pay no mind to it while your shuffling around in your furnished kitchen that was paid for all by your wife of course, in your almost sheer sleep dress with your slippers on as you put the bread in the toaster. a smile creeping up on your face when you feel abbys hand reach up the sides of your body and feeling the wet of her lips tracing up your neck, “thank you for making breakfast baby.” her sweet hum relaxing any tension that you had in your body as the two of you sway back an forth against the countertop, “mm your welcome abs..” your wife had a certain way about her that could get you so hazy so easily and she didn’t even have to do much, proving so when you could feel her hands going down to your legs, lifting the light fabric of your dress to feel the inside of your thighs.
abby trailed her fingers higher and higher to the damp patch of your panties while your breath hitched and your eyes twitched at the feeling of her fingers rubbing at your puffy cunt, still sensitive from last nights events. “was so mean to you last night pretty girl..could feel how sore I made you.” hearing that sarcastic tone and it’s true, you were sore but it was inevitable with how deep and rough she was going with you. before your cunt could be put through any more abuse the toaster pops up, scaring you and pulling a laugh from your wife as she cleans her fingers of you with her mouth. you turn around to get the plates while earning a quick kiss from abby, putting them on the table while you wait for the eggs to be done.
you fix the beverages in the two mugs labeled “mrs and mrs. anderson” that were gifted to you from a friend on your wedding day, adding all the fixing you know abby likes and all the ingredients you liked to your cup. by that time abby was done making breakfast for your cat and the eggs were done, letting the two of you sit down at last. conversing about what the two of you will be doing today you remember the planned schedule, after abbys workout you would clean up the house a bit, have abby help you to get groceries, order in from your favorite restaurant and watch a movie.
the typical weekend plan that you always looked forward to even if it was repetitive.
after abby came back from the gym the two of you headed to the store, stopping by to get the essentials of what was needed and a little sweet treat that you both deserved for all the hard work. treating you like the princess you were, abby carried in all the bags while you made the phone call to the restaurant, telling them the usual order conscious to knowing what abby liked already.
the vibe in your apartment is passionate as you wait for the food to arrive, feeling the flow of cold air run through your window and the subtle jazz music that played on your record player. dancing and smiling in your wife’s embrace while you take in her scent, your cat laying by the window observing the pair. cocking your head to abbys shoulder you hear a faint knock on the door, “abs I think the foods here.” she leaves you with the loss of her embrace but gives you a kiss on the forehead “ill get it.” abby says as she walks to the door getting your dinner for the night.
with the delicious smell of food roaming through your apartment you end your day between abbys legs, tired and bored of the movie that’s been playing, you were aching to feel the hands of your wife on you.
abby was alerted quickly when she moved her hand from your shoulder to off you as you got up to position yourself to be fully sat on abbys lap with both your chests facing each other, looking down at her with her head in your hands. hearing that sweet laugh and chuckle when she says “what?” catching yourself smiling for no other reason but for the fact that you were truly in love with this woman. “s’nothing.. just looking at my pretty abby.” hiding your embarrassment while you kiss all over abbys neck and cheeks, feeling the cradle of her grin in the corner. “yeah you think im pretty baby?” nodding your head in agreement with a quiet and quick “mhm” you become more aware of abbys hand on your ass as you straddle her, squeezing the flesh of it while she goes to ask you another question. “so sweet to me.. can your pretty abby take this off?” pointing to the fabric of your pajamas, you don’t hesitate to let her rip it off you, in a flash your on your back while abbys on top of you. your back being held by her large hands as her face hovers over your stomach. “can I kiss you here?” you breathe out a shakey-“yes..” and by this point your losing your patience, you both know what you want but abby takes so much pleasure in teasing you, as per usual. “being so fucking good for me..” she says traveling down to your legs as she kisses the top of your pelvis, stopping there just to suck at the skin of your stomach. “what about here?” and your about to burst. “mm abby! please..” your pouting now, and abby is laughing at you as if your weren’t desperate for her to touch you, “what? hm? what is it, m’not going fast enough for my pretty girl huh..” she says with your legs in the air.
your legs are resting up against her chest as your wife slides your pants off and plops them beside the two of you on the floor. “yes want you here..” taking one leg from her shoulder to spread your legs and show her how much of a mess you were, “fuck, all this for me?” you nod while you watch abby work her way down in between your legs, kissing at your thighs as she makes eye contact with you and pulls those sweet whimpers from you that always makes her wet.
it’s unruly how much of mess abby made you after that, she had your back arching off the cushions with how much she was working you up with her mouth, making you push at her head and grasp at the pillows from the stimulation.
“a-abs wait..s’enough now-“you cried. you were slurring your words, you could barely form a thought from how good it felt, feeling abbys tongue circling around your sensitive bud. the full feeling of abbys thick fingers thrusting in and out of your hole. you were soaked and your wife showed no hesitation to tell you how much she loved it.
hearing muffled praises from below you, “it’s alright you know that, taking me so well already.. could stay between these legs forever.” and it felt like she was, it was embarrassing that you could hear the noises of your sopping cunt, abbys groans as she lapped at your messy hole. feeling yourself on the verge of cumming you start to squirm around, and she can sense it before you can even start crying about it. “oh I know.. pretty pussy s’about to cum huh? you gonna cum for me?” nodding furiously you don’t even register the incoherent babbles that come from your mouth, eyes squeezing shut as you try your hardest not to close your trembling legs on abbys head, knowing how stern she gets about that. “thaat’s it fuck.. did so good for me..” coming up from your legs you reach out your arms for her, a sly smile planting across abbys face. “yeah you liked that huh sweet girl.” falling on top of you as she kisses your lips and you kiss her back as if you had been starved of her taste for days.
your wife lifts her head for a moment, rising to talk to you, “let’s get cleaned up and go to bed yeah?” nodding with a smile you can’t wait to wake up in her arms once again.

he said what? | atsumu miya
synopsis; a compilation of atsumu’s stupid innuendos and (y/n)'s unexpected comeback.
a/n; icl this is dumb af, read at your own risk
this fic is part of the off-season quartet™ series! for more, click here :)
One thing about Atsumu—he loves an innuendo.
Like, really loves one.
It’s not even always on purpose. Sometimes it just slips out—smooth as butter, dumb as hell, and way too confident for someone way past the age of fifteen.
He’s got a sharp tongue and a terrifyingly fast brain. Combine that with the maturity level of a teenage boy and the charisma of someone who’s used to getting away with too many things, and well—that pretty much sums up Atsumu as a person.
(Y/n) has known him since they were fifteen. She thought she’d be used to it by now.
She was wrong.
She could still remember some of his dumbest jokes…
Exhibit A: The Shared Bed Setup
It was a weekend trip, one hotel room, two beds. And unfortunately for (y/n), three overgrown boys with zero regard for personal space.
Osamu and Suna claimed the first bed without hesitation, leaving (y/n) to share with Atsumu—who, in a rare show of self-control, was actually lying still for once.
Until she started shifting.
“Ugh,” she groaned, adjusting the pillow again. “I can’t find a good position.”
Atsumu turned his head, already smirking in the dark.
“I can think of a few.”
From across the room, Osamu’s muffled voice cut in like a parental warning siren.
“No one asked, man.”
(Y/n) smothered him with a pillow.
Exhibit B: The Smoothie Scene
Osamu had just finished making post-workout smoothies—one of those weirdly thick, borderline gloopy protein-packed ones that could double as cement.
He handed hers over proudly. “Strawberry banana. Real fruit. No sugar.”
(Y/n) took a sip. It was good—cold, creamy, but the texture really did throw her off guard.
“Jesus” she said. “It’s so thick.”
She should’ve known better.
“Ya like it that way, huh?” Atsumu grinned from behind his own glass like he’d been waiting all day for that setup.
(Y/n) exhaled slowly, closing her eyes in silent prayer. “Don’t.”
Suna, who was sat on the floor with his back against the couch, didn’t bother to look up.
“It’s 8:17 in the morning.”
Exhibit C: The Baking Scene
Osamu was feeling domestic, so naturally, everyone else was dragged into a cupcake-making session against their will. (Y/n) was reading out the recipe, Atsumu was licking batter off a spoon he wasn’t supposed to be touching, and Suna was there for moral support only and nothing else.
“Okay,” she said, scrolling on her phone. “It says to beat it for five minutes—”
“I’ve gone longer,” Atsumu said smoothly, without an ounce of shame.
There was a long pause.
Osamu sighed, not even surprised. “We’re talkin’ about eggs, for fuck sake.”
(Y/n) put down the bowl, debating walking out the kitchen. “Honestly I'm just not gonna speak."
Exhibit D: The IKEA Furniture Scene
The mission: build a bookshelf.
The reality: two mental breakdowns, splinters, and a tiny Allen key that had no business being this powerful.
Osamu was reading the instructions like it was ancient scripture, Suna was lying on the floor pretending to help, and (y/n) was trying to force a stubborn wooden peg into a misaligned hole.
“This won’t fit in the fuckin' hole,” she huffed, pushing harder.
Atsumu, lounging beside the scattered box of parts, raised an eyebrow and purred,
“Want me to give it a try?”
(Y/n) clenched her teeth. “I swear to god.”
Suna chuckled despite himself.
Osamu sighed. “Ya walked into that one.”
Exhibit E: The Workout Scene
Someone (Atsumu) had declared it “Group Fitness Day.”
Someone else (Osamu) had refused to participate unless there were snacks after. Suna had stretched once and called it a day.
(Y/n) actually tried. She followed a YouTube Pilates video, flailing through positions that felt scientifically designed to break her spine.
By the end, she collapsed onto the floor, groaning, “God, my legs are so sore.”
Atsumu barely missed a beat, flashing his stupid bedroom eyes at her. “Must’ve been a good session.”
(Y/n) glared but was too exhausted to retaliate.
She had surrendered both physically and mentally.
Osamu smacked him for her.
Exhibit F: The Moving Day Scene
Helping a friend move was always a mistake. Doing it with these three? Borderline masochism.
The van was full. The elevator was broken. (Y/n) was carrying a suspiciously heavy box labeled “light stuff :)” in Atsumu’s handwriting.
“This is heavier than I thought,” she huffed, adjusting her grip.
Atsumu who was climbing the stairs behind her, grinned. “That’s what she said.”
Suna smirked. "Classic."
(Y/n) let the box drop on Atsumu’s foot.
Exhibit G: The Jenga Scene
It was supposed to be a peaceful night. Snacks, a movie, maybe a board game.
Emphasis on supposed.
They were five rounds deep into an increasingly vicious game of Jenga. The stakes? Loser had to do the dishes and let the others post one embarrassing photo on their story. And with Suna—serial picture taker, blackmail king—there was no room for failure.
(Y/n) was locked in.
Unfortunately, she’d been paired with Atsumu.
And Atsumu… did not have what one might call a delicate touch.
He was moving way too fast, yanking blocks like he was hurrying to defuse a bomb.
“Stop!” (y/n) snapped. “You’re moving too fast!!”
He glanced up, grin already forming, offering a cocky little shrug. “Heard that before.”
(Y/n) reached for the nearest block.
Atsumu threw both hands up. “Joking! Joking!”
Suna’s grin widened as the tower crumbled before them, securing his sweet, sweet victory.
Osamu gave his twin a long, tired look. “Yer gonna get yerself smacked.”
Exhibit H: The Ice Cream Scene
It was a brutally hot day. The kind that made pavement shimmer and ice cream trucks emerge from the shadows like seasonal beasts.
Naturally, (y/n) sprinted for one as though her life depended on it.
Now she sat on the curb, cone in hand, doing her best to keep the scoop from dripping onto her shorts.
“It’s melting too fast,” she complained, frantically licking at the sides.
Atsumu leaned over her shoulder, smirk detectable in his voice. “Guess ya gotta lick it faster, babe.”
She froze mid-lick.
Slowly, silently, she turned to glare at him.
Suna reached over and gently turned her head back toward the cone. “Don’t make eye contact.”
Final Exhibit (and the exhibit nobody expected): The Head Bump Incident
It happened quickly.
One second (y/n) was standing on the kitchen stool, reaching for a bag of crisps someone had stashed in the top cabinet.
The next—
Thunk.
She misjudged the angle. Her head collided with the cabinet edge. Hard.
“OW—”
The stool wobbled. She stumbled off, clutching the side of her head, blinking stars out of her eyes.
Atsumu was the first on the scene, hands hovering awkwardly like he wasn’t sure whether to help or make fun of her.
“You good?” he asked.
(Y/n) winced. “Fine.”
He squinted. “How’s yer head?”
She paused.
Blink.
Then, slowly, dramatically, she tilted her chin, shot him a lazy smirk, and said—
“Never had any complaints.”
Osamu and Suna whipped their heads toward her thinking they'd misheard.
Atsumu took a minute to process her words.
Then—
His eyes went wide.
And his face split into the biggest, dumbest grin known to man.
He slapped her shoulder with a bark of laughter. “Atta girl!!”
Osamu shook his head but couldn’t hide his chuckle.
Suna closed his eyes and mentally checked out.
(Y/n) beamed, still rubbing her sore head. “I’ve been saving that one.”
“Proud of ya,” Atsumu said, still grinning. “That was good."
Then, after a beat:
“Are ya serious though? ‘Cause I can be the judge—”
She swatted his arm before he could finish his sentence.
"No."

Plank You Very Much
Pairing: Reader x Cassian
Summary: Cassian gets roped into a Pilates class by you—and quickly realizes he’s in way over his head.
original request
Warnings: nothing tbh, cocky cassian being humbled, his fun lil internal thoughts
Word Count: 1.4k
✹ ✶ 𖧷 ✶✹
This was a horrible, stupid decision, Cassian realized.
He’d probably tell his kids about this someday, label it as one of his top twenty worst moments—and for the Lord of Bloodshed, that meant something.
It wasn’t the first time he’d been coaxed into something ridiculous. He wasn’t proud of that. But usually, those bad ideas involved Cassian yelling “I’m in.” before anyone could talk him out of it, not… this. Not kneeling on a yoga mat in a room that smelled like lavender and sweat, surrounded by people half his size who apparently had spines made of liquid steel.
The incense burning clung to the air, all flowery and relentless, tickling his nose in a way that made his nostrils flare with the urge to sneeze—an urge that hovered just out of reach, enough to drive him mad. Gods, he thought his allergies were bad in the Spring Court. This was worse. At least in the Spring Court, he wasn’t expected to twist himself into a pretzel while being assaulted by fragrant warfare.
He didn’t know what had possessed him to agree to this.
Well, okay, he did know. It was you.
With that damn mischievous smile and the way you’d batted your lashes at him, like you knew he wouldn’t say no. You’d done it on purpose.
“Oh yeah?”
Your voice had been as sweet as poison after he’d made a very ill-advised joke about Pilates not being “that serious.” All because you’d complained—just once—about being sore from a class. He’d grinned, all cocky charm, and drawled something like, “How hard can it be?”
He’d meant it as flirting, a way to make you laugh, but he should’ve known better. You and that damn spiteful streak.
“Come with me, then,” you’d said, tilting your head in that way you always did when you were trying to be convincing. “Unless, of course, you think it’s too hard for you, big guy.”
You might as well have stabbed him in his pride.
“We both know that’s not true.” Cassian had shot back, grinning like the cocky idiot he was. He’d even flexed a little as he’d said it, lounging against the counter with all the confidence in the world. “Bet I could do it no problem.”
Because Pilates? It didn’t even sound hard. A bunch of stretching, maybe some light balancing. Easyyy. He could do this in his sleep. He’d been fighting in wars since before most of these people were born, for Cauldron’s sake. His muscles were made of steel. His body was a weapon.
You’d grinned at him like a predator scenting blood, and he’d known, deep down, that he was screwed. “Alright,” you’d said, voice a little too sweet. “Tomorrow morning.”
He really needed you to spend less time with Mor and Azriel. Their sass and competitive streak had clearly rubbed off on you, and the result was downright dangerous. It was also, much to his frustration, ridiculously attractive. He fell for it every single time.
And now, every muscle in his body was actively trying to kill him. He was sure of it.
To make matters worse, he’d made yet another critical error at the start of class. Everyone else had grabbed the pastel three-pound weights that looked more like props than actual workout equipment. But Cassian had gone straight for the twenty-pound dumbbells.
“Really?” you’d said, your tone half amused, half incredulous.
“Three pounds are basically paperweights,” he’d replied, doing a quick curl with one arm to prove his point. The weights had felt fine then.
That didn't last long.
You'd even given him a knowing smile, one that probably should’ve warned him. But Cassian, in all his infinite wisdom and bravado, didn’t back down.
Halfway through the warm-up, his arms were trembling. Trembling. The weights that had felt so manageable had dragged his shoulders into a slow, humiliating burn.
Now, those same arms quivered as he attempted to hold the plank position for what felt like the fiftieth time in as many minutes. His shoulders burned, his thighs screamed, and sweat poured down his face in rivers. His hair was plastered to his forehead in a way that was more disgusting than it was ruggedly sexy. The surrounding mirrors of the room confirmed so.
“Engage your core!” the instructor chirped, her voice far too cheerful for someone overseeing torture. She walked by him like a predator looking for weaknesses, sparing him a sympathetic yet clearly entertained glance. She didn’t bother helping him.
He wasn’t sure where his core even was anymore. It might have abandoned him somewhere around the second round of something called “boat pose,” which had made his abs cramp in places he didn’t even know existed. He fucking hated boats.
“Hold that plank,” the instructor trilled. “Focus on your breath.”
Focus on his breath? Cassian was focused on not dying.
He grunted and grit his teeth. This was so stupid, he thought to himself. He was the General Commander of the Night Court. He led armies. He was built like a god.
So why the hell was he shaking like a newborn fawn?
Maybe this was some kind of humiliation ritual, a weird form of foreplay you enjoyed—watching your partners get broken down by this absurd torture you somehow found fun. Cassian had always suspected you were the freaky type. This could definitely be a sex thing, right?
“Doing okay over there?” Your voice drifted over from your mat, smug and far too amused. Cassian glanced at you—and immediately regretted it.
You were perfect. Every movement you made was controlled and precise, your form flawless as you transitioned into a side plank. Your leggings clung to every inch of your legs, your sports bra showing off the delicate curve of your back, and—Mother above, was that a bead of sweat sliding down your collarbone?
Cassian’s train of thought derailed so hard it might as well have exploded.
Which was exactly when his arm gave out.
He hit the mat with a loud, undignified thud, sprawled on his stomach like a dead fish. A chorus of muffled laughter erupted from the group of fae behind him, and he groaned into the mat. He couldn’t even bring himself to glare at them.
“Oh no,” you teased, resting on your side like you were lounging on a beach, not halfway through what had to be some kind of medieval punishment. “Looks like you fell.”
“This was a trap,” he mumbled, voice muffled. “Your revenge for something.”
You laughed, and Cassian couldn’t decide if he loved or hated the sound at the current moment. A mix of both, perhaps.
Who was he kidding? He wanted to bathe in it. The only thing more pathetic than his lack of Pilates skills was his infuriating crush on you.
“You walked right into it. I didn’t even have to try that hard.”
He lifted his head to glare at you, his face flushed from both exertion and embarrassment. “You’re evil.”
“And you’re cocky,” you shot back, grinning. “I figured this was the only way to get you to tone it down.”
Cassian flopped onto his back, chest heaving, and stared at the ceiling. His wings spread out beneath him, sticking awkwardly to the mat, and he couldn’t bring himself to care. “You’re lucky I like you,” he muttered, more to himself than to you.
“Oh, I know.”
You stood up then, brushing off your leggings, and offered him a hand. He hesitated, narrowing his eyes, but finally took it. Big mistake.
You tugged him halfway up—just enough for him to feel a spark of hope—before letting go. He dropped back to the mat with another thud, the air leaving his lungs in a loud huff.
You were laughing again, and despite himself, Cassian felt the corners of his mouth twitch. “Okay,” he said, sitting up on his own this time. “You’ve had your fun.”
“Not yet.” You smirked. “We still have the second half of class.”
The second half. Cassian groaned, burying his face in his hands. “I’ll never live this down.”
You crouched beside him, tilting your head. “Oh, don’t worry,” you said sweetly. “I’ll be gentle when I remind you of it. Probably.”
Cassian laughed, then, even as his entire body ached. “You’re the worst,” he said. But his voice was full of something softer than annoyance.
“And you’re stubborn,” you shot back, nudging him with your elbow. “It’s why I like you.”
For a moment, he forgot all about the embarrassment, the pain, and the endless torture of Pilates. For a moment, all he could see was you, smiling at him like he was the only person in the world.
And Cassian thought, then, that he’d endure this kind of hell a thousand times over if it meant another moment like this.

Tulpar crew with a muscular! Fem! Reader
Curly
He can still lift you up easy peasy
Loves doing weightlifting with you
Brags on you
“My girlfriend can bench press 400!”
When you get sore he runs a hot bath for you
With rose petals and Epsom salts
Watches movies with you and gives you massages
Anything for his girl
You two have a friendly competition to see how much you can lift
The gym hates to see y’all coming
Or loves to
You kind of brighten up the atmosphere with your mushy couple junk
Y’all are matched in arm wrestling
You try every day
Never works
You just stay there with your arms shaking
Lol
He’s ecstatic to have another workout buddy though
Especially one that doesn’t take it as seriously as Jimmy
Jimmy
Speak of the devil himself
He’s jealous
Right off the bat he’s jealous of you
Because he could never achieve that physique
His metabolism is too fast
And it pisses him off
He eventually comes around
Makes underhanded comments sometimes though
Meanie
He might weightlift with you
You’re a good spotter he has to admit
Encouraging and all that
Despite how jacked you are you are pretty feminine
Which he enjoys
He likes that you dress up and do makeup and all that
And if you’re not he appreciates how…
Eugh
“Drama free” you are
One of those guys
Yikes
You love him though
Swansea
Swansea didn’t grow up in a generation where women could just pick up a weight and start growing muscle
Despite this he thinks it’s badass
He’d never say that but he does
Appreciates your commitment
Maybe even attracted to it idk
An excellent cook so he makes things for you if you’re hungry after lifting
Makes banger soups
He’s pretty strong himself
But doesn’t work out too often
Just enough and if he feels like it
He’s got a bad back so nothing crazy
Take this man to a chiropractor
If you use protein powder he doesn’t understand it
“Back in my day we had to work for what we got!”
You try to explain it’s not like steroids
But he is NOT having it
Sometimes you go overboard though
And he does worry for you
“Just…be careful, alright? Don’t want you exhausting yourself on me.”
Daisuke
Daisuke is also just a little bit jealous
He gets over it though
He buys you one of those giant water bottles that have words of encouragement on the sides
Says it’s like he’s there with you
You love this boy
Would be like
“Oh yeah? Can YOUR partner do 50 pushups? (Name), show em!”
Makes you personalized playlists
Eye of the Tiger is definitely on there
Along with Wheels on the Bus
He giggles when he hears it coming from your headphones
You just look at him like WTF
Would be your spotter
Very encouraging
“You can do it! Two more!”
Fists in the air
Tries to fist bump you
You are exhausted I fear
Would sit on your back while you do push-ups
To prove a point
What point? Idk
Anya
Anya has tried working out in the past and never really got into a routine
She’s a little bit out of shape so she’s at least happy that you know what you’re doing
Buys you sweatbands with pretty little designs on them
Also makes you protein shakes in the morning
Without you asking
May try to work out with you
Gets extremely sore though
Anya with a ponytail is cute tho
She can’t do push-ups
Like physically she just collapses
It’s not even that she’s weak
She’s actually quite strong physically
And mentally too but that’s not the point
She almost beat you once in arm wrestling
She just gets tired easily
Little chubby
Totally not projecting again
Hee hee

⚣ Protective Lover 🥰
⚣✋🏻 A/N → Another idea partly inspired off one of my previous Jason posts. Dude is the definition of scary dog privilege. "and my man, thank you to my man." WARNINGS: Jealous/Possessive Behavior. Minor Swearing and Threats of Violence. Cute Fluff.
⚣✋🏻 Summary → It's no secret: Jason is a jealous and possessive boyfriend. But, many don't think about the benefit that comes along with that. He's hella protective. Sometimes it's overbearing, other times, it's very helpful.
⚣✋🏻 Words → 1.4k
REBLOGS and replies are greatly appreciated, please! 💛
⚣ ENJOY 🥰

At some point, Y/N had gotten used to it. Was it annoying? Yes. Did it feel overbearing at times? Countless. Did he secretly love it and felt the world’s most (concerning) validation from it? Absolutely.
But, when looking at the situation and its circumstances as a whole, it made sense.
When he and Jason first started dating, there was definitely a vibe of him being a gruff but soft teddy bear who was clingy and needy for love and attention when with his chosen lover. But, when around literally anyone else who was not said lover or other people were in the same room as his chosen mate, he’d turn into the world’s scariest guard dog.
It was the general rule of Scary Boyfriend Privilege. Only the designated boyfriend could see their boyfriend’s soft and needy side. Anyone outside that got the ‘murderous if you get too close’ grizzly bear side.
Extremely hot and sexy, but it could be a bit (a lot) much at times.
Y/N tried to get Jason to calm down, always showing that he could take care of himself and there was no reason for him to worry. But, living in a city like Gotham and given the vigilante’s past (hence the aforementioned situation and circumstances), there really was no calming him down.
But let’s look on the bright side here. With said privilege and the kind of boyfriend Jason was, Y/N never felt more safe and secure in his life. It was like walking around a video game world with the most overpowered gear on. He was basically untouchable.
Examples? Why, of course!
When it came to school, Y/N always preferred studying and doing his homework with Jason since he would help him stay focused and assist him with subjects that he struggled with.
Y/N was not the first but certainly the loudest to say that Jason did not get enough credit for how smart he was. Yeah, he typically lived by street smarts, but he was big on book smarts as well. He just had to learn how to communicate the information in ways where it wasn’t confusing for both him and his boyfriend.
Plus, in dating Y/N, he learned the art and benefits of positive reinforcement which anyone could probably imagine taking a magnifying glass to their relationship, it was something the Y/N had to use a lot for Jason. Now, the vigilante was doing the same for his boyfriend by giving him little rewards for finishing his work and getting good grades like take-out dates, letting him play in his hair, and more often than not, a good dic-
PAUSE
Oh for fucks sake, are we doing this again? Why does it have to be PG-13? Well, no one said– Ugh…Fine.
A good fitness workout that involved lots of cardio, sweating, and soreness, but the good kind.
Happy?
But, the week of midterms turned out to be an equally busy week for Jason as well. He was knee-deep in a big crime plot and was getting closer and closer to solving the case. Y/N understood and didn’t want to get in the way of his boyfriend's duties. It still sucked though because it meant he wouldn’t be able to study in his apartment as he’d find way too many ways to get distracted. So, he had no choice but to study on campus, and figured what better place than the library?
Turns out there could have been better places.
Y/N was sitting at a large table by himself with various books in front of him along with his tablet and laptop reviewing his notes for a huge test he had the next morning. He wasn’t the only one who had the idea of going to the library to study as it was packed full of students trying to do last-minute cramming and studying.
Jason, as usual, called him to make sure he was okay and that he had gotten to the library safely even though Y/N was well aware his boyfriend had many different ways of tracking him and making sure he was where he was supposed to be. At first, he found it creepy, but when he got to know Jason’s family, he understood.
When Jason didn’t hang up the phone long after Y/N had already sat down and began reviewing, he decided he wasn’t going to hang up either, feeling more relaxed and calm while hearing his boyfriend’s voice and breathing through his earphones.
Now and then, Jason would call his name and check to make sure he was focusing and not slacking off or scrolling on social media and Y/N would turn and scold him for trying to check him when he should have been focused on fighting criminals.
“That’s the thing, babe. I can focus on more than two tasks at the same time. You, on the other hand, still can’t manage to focus on one task for more than 10 minutes without getting distracted by something else like your favorite song and flooding our apartment.”
“I told you to let the bathtub thing go!” Y/N whispered loudly into his earbud mic with a goofy smile on his face still.
“I will never let the bathtub thing go.”
They continued their playful back and forth while Y/N continued studying until he was interrupted by another student, a guy from one of his history classes. This guy was more or less a bit annoying and creepy and had been bothering Y/N for a while with his persistent quest to ask him out.
No matter how many times he rejected him, the guy always tried again and again. He never got forceful, or at least he never had the chance since Y/N always made sure there were people around or that he got to an area where other people were nearby just in case he tried something.
He wasn’t judging him, but he took Jason’s words and lessons very seriously when it came to his safety. He’d seen enough of his boyfriend’s cases where people didn’t take the necessary steps to keep themselves protected and safe because they didn’t imagine it would ‘go that far.’
The creep only left him alone when he saw Jason was with him. Truthfully, many people tended to steer clear of Y/N and his massively scary boyfriend whenever he was with them on campus besides his friends. They were even put off by Jason at times whenever they hung out with their friend cause they’d catch him at times giving them weird looks and glares if they touched or just got too close to his boyfriend for his liking.
Plus, after the one incident of the guy who tried to pick a fight with Y/N and pushed him, thus having to deal with Jason in the aftermath, everyone learned it was just better to steer clear.
So, when Jason wasn’t anywhere in sight, Y/N’s creepy stalker saw it as a perfect moment for him to try and make a move on his classmate, not expecting the very person he was hoping to avoid being on the phone the entire time.
It wasn’t until he saw Y/N unplug his earphones and hand him his phone that he realized he was indeed on a call, and after receiving possibly the most violently worded threat he had ever heard he decided there were plenty of other fish in the sea.
He handed the phone over to its owner before scurrying off like a scared mouse, Y/N watching with a confused but also amused and relieved look.
“Hi baby,” Jason immediately responded to Y/N’s ‘hello’ in his little delightful and excited tone whenever he heard his boyfriend’s voice.
“Jason, what did you say to him?” Y/N immediately asked.
“Hey! It’s babe, baby, sexy, honey, or Jay at the slightest to you, mister. Only my family calls me that.”
“Jason…”
“Babeee, stop it! I don’t consent to this treatment. No means no!” Jason protested in a whiny voice.
“You’re such a baby,” Y/N chuckled.
“Only for you, hot stuff. But we’ll be having a long talk when I get home about you not telling me about creepy guys bothering you.”
“How did you know?”
“Babe, you know who you’re dating, right? There never will be something that bothers you that I won’t know about. I’m always gonna protect you, even if it annoys the hell out of you.”
Y/N couldn’t stop the big smile spreading across his face at his boyfriend’s words, knowing he meant every single one. Jason would always be his protective lover.

– secret's out | jessie fleming x reader
content: fluff, Kelli Hubly's post-pilates Instagram story
word count: 1.1K
Black? Navy? What about brown? No, black, for sure. Your eyes flick back and forth between the workout sets in front of you. The black set was the most comfortable, although it was a little boring. You were loving the brown set you bought, but any core work caused the waistband on your leggings to scrunch down your stomach. Your navy leggings were a bit snug, but you haven’t worn them in–
“Y/N, hurry up! We’re going to be late!” Kelli shouts through your door. Black, it is, you decide. You quickly get dressed, knowing your best friend wasn’t afraid to barge into your room even if you were only half-ready.
“We literally get to every class thirty minutes before it starts,” you counter, throwing your hair into a ponytail as you walk into the living room. Kelli had started taking you and some of the other Thorns to her pilates classes, and she insisted on getting to the studio way too early. Something about having the best reformer to pick, or whatever.
Kelli, ignoring your remark, nods at your sports bra, “It’s chilly outside.”
Not wanting to get nagged for taking any longer to get out of the door, you grab the first sweatshirt you see and slip it on, a grey crewneck sitting on the armrest of your couch. Adequately dressed, you follow Kelli outside to her car. “Is Jessie coming?” she asks as she pulls out of your driveway.
You smile at the mention of your girlfriend, but shake your head. “She has a meeting with her publicist this morning.”
“Stop, your little smile,” Kelli gushes, “You’re so cute. You’re welcome, by the way.”
A few years older, Kelli took you in as her pseudo-little sister when you got drafted to Portland in 2021. She was your first friend on the team, having been partnered with you for warm-up drills that preseason. Jessie had been assigned as Kelli’s away trip roommate this year, and after learning about your growing crush on your new teammate, she made it her mission to set the two of you up.
“You’re never going to let go of the whole wingwoman thing, are you?” you groan, despite being grateful for your friend’s help. Initially, you had been so nervous around Jessie that you could barely form proper sentences around her. Early conversations were followed by plenty of ranting and face-palming to Kelli and Sam. After some motivation from the two, and Kelli planting a couple seeds in Jessie’s head, you mustered up the courage to ask her out. Well, it went more like you telling her “I want to go on a date with you,” then immediately walking away without actually asking the question. Luckily, Jessie found your lack of game and inability to flirt endearing rather than embarrassing, and you’ve been dating since June, about six months now.
“You’ll be thanking me at your wedding,” Kelli teases.
The forty-five minute class went by fairly quickly, focusing mostly on arms and core work. It was a decently challenging class, and you could already feel your abdominal muscles getting sore. Kelli waves you over to the mirrored wall as you put your sweatshirt and shoes back on. “Picture time, Y/N/N!”
You slide yourself in front of Morgan, in between Sam and Mallie, posing for Kelli’s post-class mirror selfie. It’s become a tradition of sorts, especially now that you’ve gotten a pretty consistent group going together. “We’re so cute!” Kelli beams, uploading the picture to her Instagram story.
Jessie had gotten out of her meeting early, so she headed to your apartment, pulling into your parking lot as you were stepping out of the car. “Hi, darling,” she greets, planting a quick kiss on your temple, “Hey, Kelli.”
“Cute sweatshirt,” Jessie grins, pointing at where the Canada Soccer crest laid on the right side of your chest.
Kelli’s eyes follow her finger and go wide. “Oh my god!”
“What? What’s up?” your girlfriend knits her eyebrows in confusion, “You okay?”
“My story!” Kelli gasps, realization hitting you at the same time.
You frantically unlock your phone to pull up Instagram. Tapping on Kelli’s story, Jessie looks over your shoulder. Front and center was you, an American, a USWNT player, wearing a Canada Soccer sweatshirt. A Canada Soccer sweatshirt that belonged to the now only Canadian on the Thorns, your very private girlfriend.
“Oh my god, I am SO sorry, I’ll delete it!” Kelli says, her fingers flying across her screen.
“Fuck, I wasn’t even thinking,” you turn toward Jessie, scared of how she’d react. You had agreed to keep your relationship off of social media for now, wanting to keep to yourselves. “I’m sorry, Jess.”
“Why are you sorry?” Jessie frowns, looking at you, her eyes soft.
“I should’ve thought about what I was wearing before we took the picture,” you shake your head and stare down at your feet, “I’m so dumb, we’ve talked about keeping us private, and I messed up.”
“Hey, hey,” Jessie lifts your chin up with her finger, “You aren’t dumb, sweetheart. We were bound to slip up eventually, but I promise it’s not a big deal.”
“You’re not mad?” you gnaw on the inside of your cheek.
“Of course I’m not mad,” your girlfriend pulls you into a hug, kissing the top of your head, “I’m not mad at you, either, Kel.”
Kelli smiles meekly at the two of you, “I took my story down, but I fear everyone’s already seen it.” She holds her phone out toward you, her message requests filled with fans who had replied to her story.
Y/N’s sweatshirt???
Are Y/N and Jessie dating?!
Is that Jessie’s sweatshirt?
Okay, traitor, I see you, Y/L/N.
Newest CanXNT call-up, Y/N Y/L/N?
“I think you’re about to break Instagram, or at least my DMs” Kelli chuckles.
After a laugh and some catching up between Kelli and Jessie, you and your girlfriend head back into your apartment. Checking your phone, you see that your notifications are blowing up. Multiple notifications are flooding your most recent post, a photo dump from Christmas. Jessie comes up behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist and placing her chin on your shoulder.
“This person wants to know which one of our families we spent Christmas with,” you giggle.
“Well, are you going to answer?” Jessie jokes, a goofy grin on her face.
“I’m sorry, again, Jess,” you sigh, “I know we wanted to stay more private, but we weren’t able to do things on our own terms because of me.”
“Baby,” your girlfriend places a kiss on your cheek, “I promise you have nothing to be sorry for. Secret’s out, but so be it. If anything, this gives me an excuse to post the film of you that I’ve been wanting to share.”
“Making it onto an Instagram post? Big moves, Fleming,” you tease, “What’s next, a ring?”
“Don’t tempt me, love,” Jessie’s arms tighten around you as she peppers your face with kisses, “I love you.”
“I love you, too. Now, show me these photos you’re posting.”

Alex and Bryan had always been close, the kind of friends who made a pact over soda and pizza to turn things around, to finally hit the gym and build some muscle. They’d been nerdy, skinny guys their whole lives, and they felt awkward and out of place as they stumbled into the gym’s locker room after their first workout, faces flushed and sore from the exercises. Both of them wore cheap workout clothes they’d picked up from Walmart just that morning — faded T-shirts that hung loosely on their frames and ill-fitting, generic sneakers.
“Dude, my arms feel like noodles,” Alex groaned, shaking out his skinny limbs as he looked at Bryan.
“Right? I think I pulled something just trying to lift those dumbbells,” Bryan chuckled, but his laughter quickly turned into a grimace as he rubbed his shoulder.
Their voices echoed in the empty locker room, and the fluorescent lights flickered slightly as if the room were stretching itself, adjusting to accommodate these two new, inexperienced bodies. They walked over to the sink, looking at themselves in the mirror, barely recognizing the sweaty, tired faces staring back at them.
But then, almost imperceptibly, something started to shift. Alex leaned closer to the mirror, and he noticed his reflection looked… different. Just a little. His face seemed somehow sharper, his cheekbones a bit more defined.
“Hey… do I look weird to you?” he asked, glancing at Bryan.
Bryan squinted at him. “Maybe? Or maybe I’m just so tired everything’s blurry.” But then he stopped, staring as Alex’s T-shirt started to tighten around his chest, like it was shrinking or his chest was expanding. He looked down at his own shirt and noticed the same thing happening. The fabric stretched and then almost melted away, like it was dissolving into thin air.
Underneath, their chests were broadening, muscles slowly forming in places they’d never had them before. Alex stared, mesmerized, as his pecs seemed to inflate, one solid inch at a time, swelling until they were firm and full. He was startled to see a dark line beginning to etch itself over his right pec, the beginnings of a tattoo forming. Bryan looked over, his eyes widening as he saw the same tattoo mirrored on his own left pec.
“You’ve got the same one!” Bryan pointed, his voice trembling slightly, as he stared down at his own chest. Both of them were transfixed, watching the tattoos slowly darken, bold lines taking shape, though Alex’s tattoo was slightly clearer and etched on the opposite side of his chest from Bryan’s. Their bare chests shone under the locker room’s bright lights, and it felt almost surreal, as though they were watching themselves transform from afar.
As their chests solidified, so did their arms. Alex flexed instinctively, watching with wide eyes as his biceps bulged out, the veins snaking along the surface like thick cords. Bryan mirrored him, mimicking the same pose, even though he wasn’t sure why he was doing it. Their shoulders broadened, traps rising like hills beneath their skin, framing thick, muscular necks that hadn’t been there moments ago.
The cheap Walmart sneakers they wore started to warp, reshaping into sturdy gym shoes, and they felt a strange tickle as white athletic socks rolled up around their ankles. Their old, ill-fitting shorts slowly lengthened and changed texture, becoming soft gray sweatpants that clung to their powerful, thickened legs.
Bryan felt a sudden pressure on his head, and reaching up, he realized he was now wearing a black baseball cap. He turned to Alex, who was wearing the same cap, the brim low over his eyes, shading his gaze in a way that felt… different. He felt his thoughts slow, like they were softening, melting into something simpler. He wanted to look good, feel strong, and—
“Yo, dude, check it out,” Alex said, his voice deepening, each word sounding slower, less articulate.
Bryan grinned back at him, an identical expression on his face, as his mind began to echo Alex’s excitement. They stared at each other, an odd tension hanging between them as their minds dulled, syncing up, their personalities flattening into something singular, something almost blank.
At some point, Bryan found himself staring at Alex, watching him flex. His own arms lifted in the same way, though he wasn’t sure why he was doing it. He felt a strange compulsion, a need to mirror Alex’s actions, to match him move for move. As he flexed, his mouth moved of its own accord, saying the same thing Alex was saying, their voices blending into one deeper, dumber tone.
“Lookin’ good, bro,” they said in unison, their gazes fixed on each other, and yet somehow, only on their own reflections.
The locker room seemed to shift, as if walls were moving subtly, altering to create the illusion that there was a mirror between them. Bryan blinked, realizing he was standing opposite Alex, but his own reflection now felt hazy, as though he was losing himself in it, becoming less real, less independent. The only thing he could think was how good it felt to flex, to see his thick muscles rippling beneath his skin.
With each passing moment, Bryan’s sense of self faded further, and he became more of an image, a reflection. He could feel his mind flattening into a mere echo, a shadow of Alex’s thoughts, his individuality dissolving as he mimicked Alex’s every action and word. Soon, there was only one real man left in the room, looking into the mirror.
“Lookin’ huge, bro,” Alex grinned, his voice a low, slow rumble.
And Bryan, now only a reflection, grinned back, saying the same words at the exact same time, a perfect mimic. The tattoo on his pec was a mere shadow, reversed and less distinct, as if to signify he was nothing more than Alex’s reflection. With one final flex, Alex turned to leave, leaving the locker room behind, and the reflection vanished, leaving nothing but an empty mirror.

Your internal clock kicks in at five in the morning, even though it feels like you and Leigh only just fell asleep, exhausted after hours of chasing each other to the brink and back. You’ve long since stopped counting the times you’ve brought each other over the edge, a relentless pursuit of pleasure that left both of you gasping, spent, yet craving more.
Was it possible to share an orgasm that stretched into what felt like hours? If so, how were you not just a tangle of bliss-wrecked limbs, dead to the world?
You vaguely remember a drowsy conversation as you were both drifting off, your sweaty bodies tangled in the sheets. You’d managed a murmured question about the future, about what happens when Leigh hits the road for the comic tour. But she’d just pressed a lazy, silencing kiss to the corner of your mouth. “What if tomorrow an asteroid hits Los Angeles?” she’d teased, nosing the length of your jaw, pressing a kiss here and there.
You tried to frown, your mind foggy with sleep. “Be serious,” you muttered.
“I am,” she whispered back, her lips brushing against your ear, sending shivers down your spine. “I’m dead serious about sucking every drop of now, not wasting a second on what-ifs.”
You’re not entirely sure what happened next, only that when Leigh said the word suck, you felt a tingling sensation that surged down to your core. Before you knew it, you were on your back again, with Leigh skillfully coaxing out the final, shattering orgasm of the night from you.
Stretching your back, you hear a few satisfying pop, reminding you how sex with Leigh was nothing short of a workout, your muscles pleasantly sore from it. The first pale light finds Leigh beside you, her back turned, skin bare, and just a whisper of the sheets covering her. You realize you’ve monopolized the covers throughout the night.
You carefully pull the sheet over her, tucking it around her exposed shoulder. She’s still out, peaceful, her breathing even and deep. You can’t help but slide closer, wrapping an arm around her waist, her skin so soft and warm. You kiss the back of her neck lightly, her scent—a mix of sweet sweat and the faint floral of her shampoo—fills you up.
Soon enough, the gentle rhythm of Leigh's breathing lulls you back into sleep.
-
When you wake up again, hours later, the bed beside you is empty. The covers are tucked around you, forming a comforting cocoon, undoubtedly Leigh’s thoughtful doing.
There’s no rush to throw on clothes; you relish the comfort of the sheets against your bare skin as you slide out of bed. It's not your first time being in Leigh’s room, but the last time you were here, you barely made it a foot inside before being overtaken by the fight you were having. Last night was different. In the darkness, nothing mattered except Leigh’s cries of pleasure, the slick heat between her thighs, and the taste of her lips, completely consumed by the wonders of her body. With the slow start to your morning, you realize you now have all the time in the world to explore Leigh’s room.
Though, quite literally, there’s not much to unpack here.
In one corner near the windows, stacks of cardboard boxes are still wrapped in tape. They are remnants, you guess, of her life with Matt. Drifting over to Leigh’s desk, you notice a notebook sitting there, its pages shut tight. The temptation to peek is there, but you respect her privacy, leaving it untouched. Above the desk, a small shelf is lined with books—classics you recognize and, surprisingly, a few romance novels by Emily Henry. You're not usually into romance, but you make a mental note to check out this author on your next visit to a bookstore.
Exploring Leigh’s room reveals a charming minefield. Clothes are draped over chairs, pooled on the floor, or spilling from drawers. The dresser is a jumble of lotion bottles, perfume, earrings, and hair ties. It's all quintessentially Leigh—somewhat untamed. Your self-guided tour brings you inevitably back to the doorway. Just as you’re turning to give one last look over the room, the door bursts open. It's Jules, and the moment she sees you, her eyes widen in horror.
“Jesus, Y/N!” Jules shrieks, throwing her hands up to shield her eyes. “What the hell?”
Scrambling, you grab a throw pillow off Leigh’s bed and hold it in front of you. “Jules! I, uh, didn't think anyone would be coming in,” you stammer, cheeks heating up.
“Why are you naked in my sister's room?” Jules demands, her voice muffled by her hands, still covering her face. The question sounds ridiculous even to her ears—everyone knew you and Leigh had a date last night.
Of course, you're naked in her sister's bedroom the next morning. Where else?
“I—We were just—” Every explanation sounds more absurd as you try to find the words.
“Just—don't. Please, just get dressed,” Jules interrupts, still not looking at you.
Nodding, you quickly grab the first clothes you can find, not bothering to check if they’re yours or if they’re clean. Within seconds, you're awkwardly pulling on a white shirt featuring a pickle wearing aviators, captioned Dill With It, and squeezing into lime shorts that are definitely a bit too snug and short for your taste.
“I'm decent,” you announce, hoping your voice doesn’t betray how flustered you feel.
Right then, Leigh emerges from downstairs, looking bewildered by the commotion. “What’s going on?” she asks, eyes darting between her flustered sister and you in your bizarre outfit.
Jules lowers her hands slowly, peeking out with one eye before fully facing you. Her irritation is palpable as she glares at Leigh.
“You said I could borrow your charger from your bedroom!” Jules exclaims, her finger quivering slightly as she points it at her sister.
Leigh blinks, her lips twitching as she fights the urge to laugh. She sneaks a glance at you, your face now resembling a ripe tomato from embarrassment, and mutters almost absentmindedly, “I assumed she'd still be asleep.”
Jules huffs, “Whatever.” She strides over to Leigh's desk, grabbing the charger with a dramatic flourish. You stand frozen, barely breathing. As Jules heads for the door, she pauses, crinkling her nose as if a new thought has just occurred to her. She turns, eyes narrowed slightly in disgust.
“And open a window, would you? It smells like a brothel in here. Gross.” With that parting shot, she's gone.
Leigh lets out a breath and shakes her head. She steps closer and wraps her arms around you, her laughter bubbling up. “Well, that was something,” she says, coming over to wrap you in a hug. She gives your shirt a playful tug. “You kind of rock the pickle look, though.”
“It's a new trend,” you joke, pulling her a little closer. As you do, you lean in to kiss her cheek softly, whispering, “Good morning.”
Leigh smiles and leans in to kiss you on the lips, but you instinctively bring up your fingers to your mouth, mumbling, “I haven’t brushed yet.”
Unfazed, Leigh simply pries your fingers away and presses her lips firmly against yours. It's a quick but solid peck, leaving you both smiling.
“Morning breath doesn't scare me,” she murmurs, tracing a finger down your throat to your clavicle. “Besides, after last night, I think a little morning breath is nothing we can't handle.”
Grinning, you dive back in for another kiss, deeper this time, as Leigh starts steering you backward towards the bed. Just as the back of your knees hit the mattress, a rumble from your stomach interrupts the moment—loud, untimely, and embarrassingly intolerant.
Leigh chuckles, her forehead resting against yours as she catches her breath. “Guess that's my cue to feed you something other than kisses,” she says with a smirk, pulling back and offering her hand to help you up. “Come on, Jules made breakfast.”
Gratefully, you take her hand, letting her lead you out of the bedroom.
-
“Forget that research gig, I'm heading straight to America's Got Talent,” Suzie jokes, staggering back to the table after a spirited, if slightly wobbly, rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart. She's already half-drunk but radiates happiness, her performance having drawn cheers and hearty sing-alongs from the crowd at the karaoke bar.
She flops down in her chair, cheeks flushed and grinning, as your group erupts in cheers and claps. Tomorrow is Suzie's last day, and you had her pick the venue for her farewell party. Knowing how much she loves to sing during downtime at the clinic, a karaoke bar was an obvious choice.
“Here's to Suzie!” you shout, trying to be heard over the sound of a couple belting out a ballad on stage. “For the longest time, you've been the clinic's backbone and heartbeat. We never would've made it without you. You'll be terribly missed, but remember, our door is always open for you.”
The table erupts in cheers before everyone empties the glasses they're holding up. You drop back into your seat, feeling a little dizzy after that round. It's a small group—just you, Suzie, Foreman, Sara, and your maintenance guys, Joey and Mike.
Suzie suddenly leaps to her feet, glass raised high. “And a huge shout-out to the hottest boss I've ever had the pleasure of working ‘under’!” she yells, punctuating her words with a devious wink. Your team bursts into laughter, their uproar drawing whistles and applause from some folks at nearby tables. Sara chimes in with a spirited “Hear, hear!”, while Foreman simply rolls his eyes, a hint of envy in his expression—he's already made a pass at Sara and was swiftly rejected.
You wave your hands dismissively. “Alright, alright, let's not give everyone the wrong idea,” you say, your cheeks reddening a bit from both the attention and the alcohol. Just as you're about to retake your seat, feeling the room sway slightly with your tipsiness, your phone vibrates in your pocket. You fumble it out to see Leigh's name lighting up the screen. You’d texted her this morning inviting her to join the farewell, but her busy schedule had made her confirmation uncertain.
You excuse yourself and stumble slightly as you rise, steadying your hand on the back of your chair. Weaving through the tables, you find a quieter spot near the entrance of the bar to answer the call.
“Hey,” you say, pressing the phone to your ear, your voice dropping as you move away from all the ruckus. “Everything okay?”
“Hey,” Leigh's voice cuts in, a bit choppy and barely audible over the blaring speakers. “I'm outside of the... Brass Gibbon? Am I at the right place?”
You miss the last part of her sentence. “Sorry? Can you say that again?”
Strangely, you catch Leigh's deep sigh perfectly. “I said I'm outside,” she repeats.
“Oh! Hang on, I'm coming out.”
You dash out of the restaurant and spot Leigh leaning against the wall. You can’t help but rush over and wrap her in a tight bear hug. It’s only been two days since you woke up in her bed, but you’ve already missed seeing her, smelling her, feeling her in your arms.
She laughs and returns the hug. As she tries to pull away, you tighten your grip, holding her for a few more precious seconds. She relents with a soft chuckle, patting you lightly on the back. When you finally let go, her eyes roam fondly over your face, taking in your slightly flushed cheeks and dreamy stare. Seeing this, her smile only widens.
“Someone's had a few too many,” she teases.
You hiccup and try to defend yourself, “I’ve just had three—no, four!”
Leigh smirks and shakes her head. “Four, huh? Must've been some party,” she says, taking your hand. As Leigh leads you back toward the bar, you find yourself gazing down at your intertwined hands, a goofy grin spreading across your face. You giggle softly to yourself, slightly buzzed and thoroughly enchanted by the simple act of holding her hand.
Upon reaching your table, Suzie waves enthusiastically to get Leigh's attention. Leigh responds with a bright, “Hello, everyone!” as you both approach the group. There’s a moment where everyone looks expectantly at you, waiting for an introduction. Momentarily distracted by Leigh's presence, you get a nudge and a whisper from Suzie sitting next to you, “Introduce her, you goof!”
Quickly regaining your composure, you turn slightly, still holding Leigh’s hand. “Everyone, this is Leigh,” you announce, proud and slightly nervous. Everyone takes turns shaking her hand and introducing themselves. You watch anxiously as Sara stands up to greet Leigh, but Leigh's smile never fades, and a wave of calm washes over you as you observe your team warmly interacting with your—
“Is she your girlfriend?” Foreman asks overtly. The room goes quiet. Everyone's eyes swing between you and Leigh, waiting.
You're stuck, words lodged somewhere in your chest, not sure what to say or how to say it.
And then Leigh beats you to it.
“Yes.”
You blink, staring at Leigh, flooded with relief and suddenly feeling very, very horny. When Leigh notices your dazed look, her face switches to concern. “You okay?” she asks. Before you can answer, she’s already grabbing your hand, turning to everyone, “Excuse us, Y/N's not feeling great.”
You're still reeling from her bold affirmation and too captivated by Leigh to piece together a coherent thought. The next thing you know, you're being guided—rather roughly—into one of the bathroom stalls, your back pressed against the door as Leigh locks it behind you.
Leigh leans in close, her breath hot against your ear. “You shouldn't be wearing your white doctor's coat out like this,” she murmurs.
You open your mouth to explain—it was chilly, and beneath the coat, all you had on was a skimpy black strappy dress. But as Leigh slides the coat from your shoulders, her lips find your earlobe, gently nibbling. The words die in your throat, replaced by a sharp intake of breath. Leigh pushes you harder against the door, her body pinning yours with surprising force. That's when you feel it—the unmistakable hardness of a strap beneath her pants. A deep, needy moan spills from you as she starts grinding against you.
How did you miss the pronounced bulge in the tight jeans she wore to meet everyone? Was this part of her plan? The nerve of it—meeting everyone, introducing herself so confidently and casually, all while planning to take you here, in a public bathroom. It's almost as if she was silently bragging to your team, “Yeah, I’m about to fuck your boss in a public bathroom. Nice to meet you.”
The thought alone makes you soak your panties. Despite the thrill, the risk of getting caught in public makes you hesitate. “Leigh, they’re waiting for us,” you protest weakly.
Leigh just grins against your skin. “But I'm not done making you feel better,” she whispers slowly, making you clench your thighs together from how hoarse her voice has gotten. Her hands are deft as she bunches your dress around your waist and begins to unzip her pants. All the while, she deposits open-mouthed kisses along your neck, leaving a trail of saliva in their wake.
“Leigh…” you whine, unsure if you're trying to make her stop or urging her on out of impatience. She just smirks, that knowing look in her eyes telling you she’s got you right where she wants you. Before you can protest again, she pulls you into a deep, toe-curling kiss that melts your doubts away.
Then, you see it. Leigh pulls out a seven-inch strap-on, its girth substantial. Her hand barely fits around it as she spits into her palm and coats the silicone with deliberate strokes, preparing it.
You're teetering on the edge, mind spinning, when Leigh switches things up on you. Suddenly, she’s on her knees, and before you know what’s happening, she’s tugged your panties down. You’re about to react when her tongue hits you, slick and warm, tracing up your pussy.
“Oh my god!” you cry out.
Leigh’s tongue works magic, and she hums against you. “You taste sweeter every time,” she murmurs, just before her tongue dives back in for more. You can only moan in response, words failing you completely as pleasure builds. Just when you’re about to peak, Leigh pulls away, leaving you hanging on the brink. She stands quickly, grabs the strap-on, and steps closer. Her grin is wicked as she rubs the toy against your slick folds, coating it with your arousal. When the thick head nudges your clit, you can’t help but curse out loud.
“Leigh! Fuck!”
Leigh clamps a hand over your mouth, her eyes widening slightly as she hears someone enter the bathroom. She gives you a quick, commanding look, silently instructing you to wrap your legs around her. As you comply, the toy squeezes tighter in your folds, making you shudder.
“Put your arms around my shoulders, hold tight,” she murmurs, breathless from the effort she’s exerting to hold you up. She guides the tip of the cock to your entrance. “Ready?” she asks softly. You nod, pressing your face into the crook of her neck to drown out any sounds. Without another word, Leigh thrusts into you in one swift motion. The size is a shock, and you bite down on her neck to stifle a cry, the slight pain mingling with deep pleasure. Sensing your need to adjust, Leigh holds back, her body taut yet patient, giving you a moment. Once you give a slight nod against her neck, Leigh starts moving again, slowly at first.
She continues thrusting into you, speeding up just a little, her lips just inches from your ear. “I've been thinking about this, fucking you like this,” she whispers.
Dumb with pleasure, you gasp out, “H-Here?”
“Not here, silly,” she breathes out, her rhythm faltering slightly as a particular thrust grazes her clit just right. The strap-on drags tantalizingly against your walls as she pulls out, then sinks back in deep, hitting spots that light you up from the inside. Leigh’s fucking you like the strap is a true extension of hers. For a second there, you wish it were.
“Ideally, I'd have you in your bed, where you can scream your l-lungs out,” Leigh whimpers as her movements grow more and more out of control. She drives into you relentlessly, each stroke making you slicker, drawing moans from deep within you. “S-Seeing you tonight... I couldn’t w-wait.”
You've never been so wet, so ready, and every time she pulls back, you feel the absence of her deeply, desperately not wanting this to end.
Leigh changes her approach, drawing back slowly until only the head of her cock remains inside you, before surging forward, slamming into you. Each powerful thrust pins you harder against the door, the sound of your bodies smacking together rocking you into a lust-filled haze. The sheer strength of her movements turns you on even more, making you more slippery, and soon you can practically hear the sound of her fucking you—wet, squelching noises that you're sure anyone nearby can hear.
True enough, you catch the sound of hurried footsteps and the door slamming shut as someone rushes out, likely realizing what's happening.
With the coast clear, she carefully lowers your legs from her waist, sensing that you’re close but knowing you need more. Just when you think you might lose it, she suddenly pulls out. You barely have time to gasp, ready to curse her for stopping, when she swiftly turns you around and positions you over the toilet, making you brace yourself on the seat.
Without warning, she enters you from behind, the angle allowing her to go deeper. Leigh drags your dress further up your body, her hands roaming over your smooth back before digging into your hips. Your breathing becomes shallower as she continues her unforgiving pace, but you crave more.
Sensing your need, Leigh sneaks a hand in front of you, her fingers finding your swollen clit. She circles it tightly with three fingers, massaging the engorged nub. “Look how big it's grown,” she whispers huskily in your ear. “You're so ready. Practically dripping everywhere.”
You whimper helplessly, tears forming behind your eyelids from the amount of pleasure you’re receiving.
“I wish I could come in you, fill you up.”
That does it. Your body tenses, and a powerful orgasm crashes over you, making you cry out. Leigh tries to hold you up, supporting your weight as you lose all sensation in your legs.
“Fuck, Leigh!" you moan, trembling. “That was... oh god…”
Leigh doesn't stop, her own need for release driving her forward. Despite your pleas about how sensitive you are, she continues relentlessly, her fingers expertly working your clit again. “Leigh, please,” you whimper, your body overstimulated and trembling. “I can’t—”
“Just one more, baby,” she groans. “I-I’m close.”
At Leigh’s plea, your body, still reeling from the first orgasm, starts building up again. “Oh god, Leigh,” you gasp, feeling the pressure mount once more, your body trembling uncontrollably. Within seconds, you're hurtling toward another peak, your legs shaking as she drives you over the edge. A second, even more intense orgasm rips through you, your cries echoing in the small stall. Leigh finally lets out a low, guttural moan, her own release hitting as she keeps you bent over, her fingers never stopping their assault on your clit until every last wave of pleasure has wracked your body.
Shortly thereafter, Leigh finally slows, her thrusts easing until she stops completely, still buried deep inside you. She pinches your ass appreciatively, then tests how sensitive you are with a small thrust that has you hissing. She chuckles at your reaction, taking pity on you. Bending over, she kisses your cheek and whispers, “I'm gonna pull out now, okay?”
You nod weakly, still catching your breath. Leigh begins to withdraw slowly, her eyes fixed on the junction of your bodies. She watches, fascinated, as she draws back, the wet tendrils stretching and finally snapping from your pussy to her cock.
“Look at you,” she murmurs in awe, half to herself, as she finally frees herself completely and tucks the strap back inside her pants.
“Are you okay?” she asks, noticing you’ve been in the same position longer than usual.
“Yeah, just give me a minute... or five,” you reply with a breathless laugh.
She laughs softly too, then helps you pull your panties up from your ankles. Once you're somewhat decent, she sits on the toilet lid and pulls you into her lap, resting her forehead on your chest, eyes closed, her breath steady on your sternum. You weave your fingers into her hair, massaging her scalp gently. Leigh sighs contentedly, but then her voice turns apologetic.
“I'm sorry for… I literally lost control. It's just... I keep seeing you and thinking of February, when I have to go and I—”
“I know what you mean,” you interrupt softly, tilting her head towards you with fingers under her chin. “I don't want to waste a single moment.”
Leigh nods, then quickly buries her face in your chest to hide her watery eyes, her head nestled comfortably against your breast.
For a while, you just hold each other without saying anything, content even in the cramped space of the stall. After a while, you gently suggest, “We should get back. Don’t want to give the staff any ideas.”
“Yeah, you’re right,” Leigh says, lifting her head to meet your eyes.
She helps you to your feet, both of you adjusting your clothes, sharing a quiet, knowing smile. With one last kiss, you step out of the stall together.
When you and Leigh return to the group, it's clear they're more inebriated than when you left. Except Suzie. The smirk that spreads across her face as soon as she sees you gives away that she's pieced together what happened between you and Leigh. Your cheeks flush immediately, providing Suzie all the confirmation she needs. Without missing a beat, she guides you both back to the booth and strategically sits between you and Leigh, still smirking.
“Thanks for coming, Leigh,” Suzie says, offering Leigh a beer.
Leigh accepts the drink, taking a large gulp before saying, “Sorry for crashing your party.”
“No, you’re not,” Suzie says with an impish grin. “I told Y/N to invite you. I wanted to meet you properly before I go.”
“Oh?” Leigh looks up from her drink. “Why’s that?”
“Suzie—” you try to interject.
Suzie holds up a finger to shush you. Leigh's eyebrow arches at the gesture, clearly feeling provoked by your former receptionist's antics. You tense up for a moment, worried Suzie might say something offensive to Leigh.
Instead, she grins and says, “I wanted to meet the reason my boss stares into space half the time.”
You shoot Suzie a deathly glare, but she just laughs.
“Really?” Leigh asks, amused. “That bad, huh?”
Suzie nods, enjoying every second. “Oh, yeah. It’s been fun watching her daydream.”
The rest of the group laughs and then Foreman accidentally spills his drink down his shirt, drawing everyone’s attention. Taking advantage of the distraction, Suzie leans in closer to Leigh, her expression becoming earnest.
“I might not be Y/N’s best friend,” she tells her, “but consider this a friendly warning from someone who cares about her just as much. Don’t break her heart, okay?”
Leigh meets her gaze head on and says, “I don’t plan on it.”
“Good,” Suzie says, rising from her seat. “Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to kick off the second set of my concert tonight.”
-
Leigh doesn’t mention Suzie’s little warning to you, choosing to keep it to herself. Yet, as she spends more time with you, those words linger in the back of her mind, subtly coloring her perceptions and the way she observes your interactions. It’s not something she dwells on openly, but it’s there, quietly guiding her along the way.
You don’t tell Leigh how she’s been everything you could ever ask for these past few weeks, but you've noticed. You see her thoughtfulness in the small things—like how she always brings you your favorite coffee just the way you like it, or the way she listens, really listens, giving you her undivided attention when you talk about your day, no matter how trivial the details. And it's clear she's not holding back; she's refreshingly candid. Leigh shares everything that's on her mind, effortlessly expressing how your words or actions impact her, for better or worse—a true companionship.
The sex gradually tapered off, but your longing for Leigh has only grown—not just in a sexual sense. You miss her in the mornings when she's makeup-free, leaving a small mark of drool on your pillow. During the day, you wish you could grab lunch with her or talk about the new book you spotted in a shop window, especially after deep discussions about its author. You long to share every detail of your day with her, to hear her take on the little things, to see her in your dreams.
Simply put, you find yourself wanting her around all the time.
It's risky to find yourself wanting her even more than you already do, but you've long since surrendered control over your own heart. It feels like being a prisoner on death row, helplessly waiting for the inevitable moment she leaves LA for her tour.
-
One evening, Leigh surprises you with a picnic dinner at the park. She finds the perfect spot under a massive oak tree and lays down a cozy blanket. From her basket, she pulls out a homemade lasagna that’s still warm and a grazing box loaded with your favorite cheeses and cold cuts.
As you settle down, Leigh pulls out a bottle of wine and two glasses. She winks, assuring you she definitely got permission to take it from her mom’s cellar.
You smile, watching her pour the wine. “So.. what’s the occasion?
Leigh shrugs as she hands you a glass of wine, her smile easy. “I just wanted to do something nice for you,” she says simply.
You take a sip, enjoying the flavor, but there’s a nagging feeling you just can’t seem to shake off.
“You've been going all out for me lately,” you quip, keeping your tone light. “What's this really about?”
Leigh’s smile fades just a touch, though her eyes remain hopeful. She takes a deep breath.
“I spoke with Matt's publisher,” she starts cautiously. “I’ve officially agreed to go on the tour. They've sorted out all the details—the itinerary, the places, everything.”
The news doesn't surprise you. You've been expecting this; neither you nor Leigh can keep avoiding the inevitable, hiding behind the rush of desire you have for each other, the comfortable days that are, you both know, numbered.
You fall silent for a while, simply lying down with your head in Leigh's lap. She seems taken aback at first, but quickly adjusts to make you more comfortable. You look up at her, smiling, finding her face and the night sky an unbelievably stunning match.
Leigh gives you a funny look, her brow furrowing slightly. “Did you hear what I said?” she asks.
“Yeah, I heard you,” you mumble, still distracted by her face. Then, as an afterthought, you whisper, “You were always going to go.”
She nods, looking upward, her eyes glistening as she tries to blink back tears.
“Are you going alone?” you ask.
Leigh takes a moment, then shakes her head slightly. “Danny might come too,” she admits. “But with his new job in Vegas, I doubt he’ll be able to.”
As you absorb her words, you realize why you asked. Maybe part of you had sensed it, maybe you needed the confirmation. Regardless, you know you have no say in the matter. If Danny is there, at least someone can look out for Leigh.
You hadn't noticed you'd voiced your thoughts about Danny possibly joining her until Leigh says, “I can handle myself just fine, you know.”
“Of course, you can,” you reply quickly, “but that won’t stop me from worrying.”
She gives you a soft smile and starts toying with your hair, gently pulling strands and braiding them. The slight tugs as she twists your hair into braids lull you into an almost sleepy state. You're drifting on the edge of dozing off when her voice, soft and tender, pulls you back.
“I love you.”
Your eyes snap open. Leigh’s refrained from saying it during sex, and not that you’ve been counting, but it’s the third time. It takes you a few seconds to process, your heart catching up with your mind, and then you notice Leigh's amused smile.
“I love you, too,” you whisper back. You can sense that your statement simultaneously makes her both happy and sad. You wish you could make it all joy, all the time.
But that’s not how life works.
Leigh bends down, her lips brushing softly against yours before she pulls away, her breath warm on your face. “Do you think this would be easier if we hadn't said those three words to each other?” she whispers, her eyes searching yours for an answer.
You sigh, mulling over her question. “I honestly don't know,” you say, voice soft but certain. “But I couldn’t have kept it to myself, not with how I feel about you. All I know is I love you, whether you’re leaving or staying.”
Leigh's eyes well up again, but this time she lets the tears fall. She leans in, her forehead resting against yours. “Thank you,” she murmurs.
“For what?” you ask curiously, sitting up.
Leigh wipes her tear with a dainty finger, then traces the line of your jaw before pecking you on the lips.
“For being you,” she whispers. “And for showing me that life can go on in any number of ways.”

Sleeping while wrapped in silk sheets in a hotel luxury bedroom is a much deserved break after months of chasing after Wanderers. It’s been a while since you completed a whole eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. The curtains are still drawn, basking the room in shadows. Your morning is almost perfect, if it weren’t for the empty space beside you.
You crack one eye open to confirm that Sylus wasn’t there. You frown as the gray-haired man is nowhere to be seen. You grab your phone from your bedside table and open up your messages.
“Where are you?” you ask him.
He’s not replying. You sigh and slide off of the bed. You head into the kitchen. There’s already food on the counter. There’s a batch of pancakes with bananas and blueberries and a note beside it. You pick up the note to read it. Apparently, Sylus headed out to the gym to get some morning workout and he’ll be back after an hour. You look at the pancake and smile. He definitely cooked these all by himself.
You take a seat on the counter and grab a fork and a bottle of syrup. You open your phone and play a video as you eat your breakfast. You finish eating your breakfast and head to the living room. You take a seat on the fluffy couch and turn on the television to continue watching what you were watching on your phone.
Suddenly, you hear the lock to the hotel door signal that it’s being unlocked. Sylus enters the room, drenched in sweat. He spots you on the couch and immediately comes over to you.
“Good morning, sweetie,” he greets, leaning down to plant a soft kiss on your lips.
“Good morning,” you mumble back. You cup his cheek and look up at him. “I missed you. You weren’t beside me when I woke up.”
He chuckles. “I’m sorry, sweetie. You were asleep so I decided to get some exercise done before we head out. Don’t worry. You’ll have me for the rest of the day. I just have to take a shower first.” He pokes your nose and tries to pull away, but you won’t let him.
He tilts his head at you. You look back up at him and shift your shoulders. The loose pajamas you’re wearing slips off your shoulder. It doesn’t go unnoticed by him and a smirk immediately forms on his lips. You use this opportunity to slowly get up and guide him to sit on the couch. He obliges, maintaining his piercing gaze on yours. His large warm hands cup your hips as you plant both of your knees on either side of his thighs.
“Someone’s a little impatient today,” he teases as one of his hands travels down in between your legs. A deep chuckle rumbles from his chest as he feels your excitement coat his fingers.
You stifle a moan, but your trembling legs give away how deprived you are of his touch. “It’s been a month,” you grumble. “And then I wake up without you on top of me. Tell me, who wouldn’t be impatient, huh?”
Sylus’ smirk grows wider as he watches your fingers fiddle with his sweatpants. “Poor little kitten,” he groans as your soft fingers wrap around his cock. “Well, I’m here now. Go on. Use me for your own pleasure.”
He’s already hard and dripping with precum. You press the head of his cock to your already twitching hole. He pushed your hips down, but not too forcefully. He still lets you sink down on this cock at your own pace, considering how he sees your jaw drop and your eyebrows scrunch up in pain.
“Are you alright, my love?” he whispers, leaning forward to start licking one of your nipples. His tongue swirls around the nub before lightly biting down.
“Mm-hmm!” you whine, throwing your head back. It hurts. You have forgotten how huge he was after a month of not being able to be this close to him. However, that spike of pain that shot throughout your body doesn’t stop you from taking him in. You know that you’ll feel sore after this but what matters right now is to have him inside of you.
You recover yourself and wrap your arms around his neck. You bury your head in his hair, taking in his scent. He smells so good. His body is still warm from his morning workout. You cling to him as you feel the entire length of his cock stretching you out.
“Fuck,” he curses. “You’re so tight, sweetheart.” He looks up at you. With the way his eyes are glazed over, you know that he’s trying his best not to start slamming his cock into you. “I can feel how your walls are holding onto my cock so tightly. Did you miss me that much, huh?”
You simply answer with a nod as you lift your hips up and slowly bounce on his lap. Your jaw laxes, letting small whimpers fill up the empty hotel room. As much as you want to go fast, every time you sink down on his cock, it feels like his tip is pressing against your stomach.
“That’s my good little slut,” he praises, keeping his eyes planted on your pained expression. “Come on, sweetie. Show me how much you missed me.” He runs his rough fingers down your thighs before suddenly slapping your skin. “And I’ll reward you with the proper fucking that you deserve.”
“Yes, baby,” you gasp as you start increasing your pace. You bury your face on the crook of his neck. Each inhale you take is accompanied with his musky scent. That paired with his low moans is driving your mind crazy. The thought of doing the same to him with your hole and moans urges you to keep going faster even though you feel yourself running out of breath.
His palm slaps your bouncing ass several times while your hole continues to devour his cock. The pain from earlier is now replaced with an immense pleasure that you craved for weeks. Even the stinging of your skin that he’s abusing with his hand is being translated into pleasure. Your brain is already muffled and the only thing you can focus on is his cock splitting you in half.
You don’t even register Sylus placing his arms beneath your legs. “Hang on tight, kitten. I’m bringing you to the bedroom,” he says. You do as he says before he stands up with his cock still shoved inside of you. Each step he takes towards the bedroom makes your whole body twitch.
You only realize the two of you are in the bedroom when you feel his cock slip out of you as he places you down on the silky sheets. You whine in protest, now feeling empty. “Sylus,” you plead. “Put it back inside. I want you. Please, please, please….”
He lets out a low chuckle as he crawls on top of you. “So impatient,” he teases, his cock in his hand. He slaps his shaft against your hole. “Are you sure you want me to make a mess of you, sweetheart? You think you’ll be able to keep up, hm?”
You pull your knees up to your shoulders, showing your wet and twitching hole. “I’m all yours, so please just fuck me,” you cry, looking up at him and sticking your tongue out.
He grinds his teeth together at the sight of you. “Fuck, you’re such a good little fucktoy,” he growls before shoving his entire length into you. Before you can even scream, he leans down to devour your lips and your tongue.
He wastes no time slamming his hips against yours. His pace leaves you breathless but wanting for more. You don’t even care when you feel his hand wrap around your neck and start to squeeze. With his mouth against yours and his hands squeezing your neck, your eyes start to roll at the back of your head, already feeling woozy and numb. All you can feel is his cock driving his cock into your needy hole.
“You look so pretty like this, sweetie,” he groans. “You don’t know how much I craved to see you fucking break on my cock. Every night, I came to the thought of your hole wrapped around my cock. I thought about fucking my come into you and breeding you. Maybe if I plant my seed deep inside you, you’ll have no reason to be away from me. Every night, I get to fuck you and fucking breed this greedy little hole of yours over and over.” He laughs as you let out a weak whine. “Oh, you’d like that, don’t you? You like having all my cum inside you, my dirty little slut?” He loosens his grip on your neck. “Answer me, darling,” he demands.
“Yes….yes! Please cum inside me!” you exclaim. “I want it deep inside me. Please I need your cum to fill me up!”
“That’s my good little kitten.”
He pulls out of you and throws your entire body around like you weigh nothing at all before pushing his cock back into you. He grabs your hips, his fingernails digging into your skin. Your screams start to fill up the room as he mercilessly pounds into you. A string of curses escapes lips, feeling your hole tighten up even more.
“Wai-wait! I’m gonna cum!” you cry out. “I’m gonna cum!!”
“That’s right. Cum for me, but I will not be slowing down for you. I want to feel your slutty hole squeeze my cock. I told you I’m not gonna hold back,” he whispers in your ear. “And I intend to keep. My. Promise.” He emphasized the last three words with a deep thrust. On the last thrust, your whole body seizes up.
As promised, he keeps on slamming into you. You haven’t even finished your first orgasm yet but it’s already followed by another one. Your hands try to hold onto something, anything.
Sylus groans in pain above you as your nails drag across his flexed arm. His eyes are in a daze as he watches your eyes roll to the back of your head and your saliva drips out of your mouth. You looked so beautiful underneath him, under his mercy. Even if he did want to stop to let you catch your breath, the feeling of your walls squeezing him is preventing him from doing so. Your warmth is such an aphrodisiac to him.
“You’re so pretty, darling,” he pants. “Such a good little kitten for me.”
You whine in response. You want him to stop. Your whole body is currently oversensitive. You feel like you’re gonna pass out anytime soon.
“I know, sweetie,” Sylus cooes. “I know. I’m almost there.. Just hold on until I can come inside you, okay? Don’t you want my cum pumping you full, hm?”
Your whole body shudders in excitement at the thought of him filling you up. With your brain turned into mush, all you can do is babble incoherent words.
Sylus understands though and presses his entire weight on top of you while continuing to fuck your brains out. You remain incoherent as he takes your hand and intertwines your fingers together. “Fuck, baby. You’re so tight. You belong to me and only me, you get that?” he grunts. “Nobody gets to have this body of yours but me.”
“Yes, yes, yes…yes!” you gasp. “I’m yours. I belong to you. Please treat me as your cumdump. I want to have all your cum inside me…oh god…please, please, please!”
“Fuck, I’m coming,” Sylus says. His hand slips around your neck once again and he squeezes as he increases his pace. You can hear his heavy breaths and moans against your ear. His sweat is dripping down your skin, surrounding you with his strong smell. You can feel his heavy balls slapping against you every time he slams himself into you.
Before you know it, you’re reaching your third orgasm. Sylus curses under his breath and buries his cock deep into you, filling up your stomach with his warm and thick cum. He doesn’t let go of your neck, loving the feeling of how tight you are the more he restricts your airflow. Only when he feels your body go slightly limp that he lets go of you. He lifts himself up and spreads your thighs before he slowly pulls out of you.
He groans as he watches his thick load escape your twitching entrance. He scoops it with the head of his cock and shoves it back inside. He does this repeatedly. Pulling out his cock completely before pushing all of the oozing cum back inside your hungry hole.
He then gently flips your entire body. He cups your face and presses a gentle kiss which you weakly reciprocate. “You think you can still walk for our lunch reservation, sweetie?” he asks, a smile on his face.
You chuckle and wrap your legs around his waist. “You should ask if I still want to go,” you reply. “I think I might want another round of you for lunch instead.”
Your partner laughs. “Anything you want, darling. You know I’ll always give you what you want,” he whispers before pulling you in for another tender kiss.

steve was just trying his best to make it through the day without breaking down. and had so far been successful. but once steve walked into the door of his house he didn’t know how much longer he could last.
he had plans to hangout with eddie soon which is something he’d normally be excited about, but the thing is, steve’s arms hurt. since the upside down and fighting monsters thing was over steve hadn’t been working out as much. so when he did, like he had that morning, he felt sore.
for most people this wouldn’t be an issue. but the whole reason steve had worked out in the first place was to stop the buzzing in his body and mind. some days he woke up and it felt like everything was turned up to maximum. all the sounds, textures, colors, and smells of an average day felt like torture. and it made him feel buzzy. so add sore arms on top of his already overwhelmed system? he felt like he could lose it at any moment.
steve took a second to sit in silence with his eyes closed to try and calm down as he waited for his boyfriend to arrive any minute.
meanwhile his inner monologue would not relent,
“my arms are sore. that dog outside is barking too loud. my arms are sore. i hope eddie is on his way. my arms are sore. my arms are sore. my arms are sore.”
his train of thought was brought to a halt by a knock at the door. he took a deep breath before getting up and walking to let eddie in.
as soon as eddie was inside steve was greeted with a chipper,
“hey sweetheart!”
steve tried to hide his grimace at the sudden booming voice of his boyfriend, but to no avail.
“stevie are you okay?” eddie asked quietly.
“my arms hurt” steve let out softly with a sniffle before crumpling into his boyfriends loving embrace letting the weight of the day crash over him. knowing eddie would take care of him.
eddie wrapped his arms around his love before softly saying,
“oh baby, let’s get you somewhere comfy.”
as they walked into steve’s room eddie made sure to turn on the small lamp on the table knowing steve wouldn’t want to deal with the big light during a time like this. but even after getting comfortable in bed laying with his head on eddie’s chest, steve’s mind is still in overdrive.
“eddie is so cuddly. my arms are sore. i hope he doesn’t mind that we aren’t going anywhere tonight. my arms are sore. I’m glad eddie doesn’t smell like cologne right now. my arms are so-“
“you okay love bug? i know you said your arms hurt but i know that’s not the whole story.” eddie interrupted steve’s never ending thoughts.
steve let out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding before rushing out,
“today is just too much. i woke up and the sun was too bright and the birds were basically screaming outside. and i tried to workout to focus on something else but it didn’t really help. and then at work the lights were humming and robin kept saying she couldn’t even hear it and it made me feel crazy. then i noticed my arms hurt from working out. now i can’t un-notice it and i can kind of control the stuff around me but i can’t control the stuff in me!”
“hey okay sweetheart just take a deep breath, it’s going to be okay.”
steve took some deep breaths as eddie continued,
“how about we take a hot shower and afterward i can massage your arms for you. does that sound like something you’d be up for baby?”
steve didn’t hesitate to agree to the plan set before him by his wonderfully caring boyfriend. following eddie’s lead into the bathroom.
the shower helps to release some of the tension he had been holding in his body all day. the steam and eddies hands working in tandem to surround his body. once they get out and after the aforementioned massage steve drifts to sleep curled around eddie. mind quiet for the first time all day.
a/n: this is my first time writing more than just a blurb in like a decade so lmk how y’all feel ab it! (unless you hate it then you keep that to yourself lol)

kiss it better. [ isagi yoichi ]
cw: fluff, established relationship, slight ooc maybe, gn! reader. notes: i was nice and did a fluff.
"your face is not sore, yoichi."
you let out a muffled yawn, lazily turning to meet his gaze. your bodies lay together, wrapped up in each other limbs and drowning in the sea of white duvet.
"and how do you know?"
you scoff as he leans closer, noses brushing against each other as smiles crack your sleepy faces. you laugh lightly, playfully pushing his shoulder as his arms wraps around your waist. isagi pulls you closer, whining like a pup who wasn't fed,
"c'mon... just one..."
laughing, you reject his proposal again, even as he squeezes your waist and groans dramatically. you grin at him, you cheek lay pressed against his arm that cushioned your head, a sight isagi found utterly heartwarming on the few mornings he was lucky enough to wake up beside you. though even with such affectionate warmth, his heart still stung, throbbing with the memory of your impending separation. only today, he reminded himself.
he pouted, pressing his face forward, lips diving towards yours. when you pulled back, his hand flattened across the plane between your shoulder blades to hold you in place as his lips met yours.
he was so gentle. lips brushing against yours like a dance of delicate feathers, of precious love that could be easily fractured by one rough grain. adoration and trust as your saliva mingled with his, spreading across his tongue as you breathed,
"yoichi."
he chuckled breathily, pressing his forehead to yours as he kept his eyes closed. isagi hummed, not daring to speak after, rather drowning himself in the softness of your affection as your hands roamed his back, soothing his muscles. his hands did the same, holding you like a treasure under his roughened palms.
he pulled the blanket up closer, tucking you both back in beneath the wrinkled sheets, "let's go back to sleep." he offered, running his fingers through your hair. his navy eyes bore into yours, heavy lakes of blue adoration as they sunk closer to yours, lips parting in sweet devotion.
placing one last kiss to your cheek, he pulls you closer, tucking you away into his chest, hiding his prize from prying eyes. the hexagon building he had been trapped in for so long was cold, lonely, but in your arms, he felt anything but that. his legs were sore and tired, shoulder aching from brutal workouts, head thumping from so much thinking. yet, finally, when he gets to melt back into your arms, isagi lets out the softest sigh, satisfaction riddling his body.
"i don't wanna fall back asleep." you confess, still nestled into his chest, "today's the only day i get to spend with you." isagi smiles at your soft pleading, his heart aching when he remembers tomorrow won't be the same, petting your hair. he grins lazily, jesting,
"we could... if only you kissed all my soreness away..."
isagi whines dramatically, again, continuing to lament about the alleged soreness that lingered on his lips. rolling your eyes, laughter broke out between you when your eyes met, crinkled with smiles, a shake of your head as you leaned closer,
"yeah, yeah..."
notes: awee sucha a cutie.

workout tips from a student athlete & med student:
- don't workout fasted. that includes working out first thing in the morning. it unnecessarily causes stress to your body, cortisol spikes and your body ends up storing fat instead of converting it to muscle. if you really have to do something on an empty stomach, go for yoga or walking, but don't let your heart rate spike
- high intensity workouts are not the best for wl, once again, they cause stress to your body. and we don't want to be stressed 🗣️. opt for zone 2 (that's when you feel like your doing work, but can still talk), it burns fat and is more sustainable.
- don't ever risk overtraining. I've been there before, got injuries that i'll carry for the rest of my life. it's smarter to go slow and maybe build up from there (max 10% in increase per week), than starting to work out 9 times a week from nothing and having to stop after two weeks
- feel like you're skinny fat? just tone up come on! that's literally the point where you want to take that extra fat and turn it into muscle. train your thighs, your abs, your arms. you'll be leaner in the end
- get your electrolytes in!!! we want our pretty little hearts to function, so please, please, make sure your body gets all the things it needs
- struggle with sore and fatigued muscles? magnesium before sleep!!
- try to find one safe food that has fast sugars (banana, date, gingerbread, some kind of candy). and that's the food you want to eat before high intensity workouts. don't binge on it, but see it as fuel to then push your body and kickstart the wl benefits you get from it!!
- probiotics also help with your metabolism! if you need a sweet drink, don't drink something with artificial sweeteners, but get yourself some kombucha or kefir. artificial sweeteners just make you bloated, destroy your microbiome and aren't a pretty food. and remember, pretty people eat pretty things.
- have a small, protein rich snack after intense workouts. if you allow your body some fuel after workouts, you won't binge later.
- drink your water!!
- don't stretch immediately after working out, but rather try to fit it into your routine a little later! that should boost recovery and also adds another kind of activity/distraction later in the day
- sleep like it's what you were born for! it helps with metabolism, it boosts your recovery and sleeping is just nice
- don't be scared of building lean muscle! it makes you look more desirable and MUSCLES BURN MORE CALORIES. you want a pretty flat dainty stomach? train your abs
- low weight high rep work!!!! we don't want to get bulky
stay safe loves
