I was debating on YouTube about Sasuke but YouTube deletes comments, especially those that have a link. It was also difficult for me to search for the publications. How can anyone read the two chapter panels showing two very different worlds the characters occupy and be surprised by the way it ended? They were not going to reconcile since the world where Sasuke exists is the antithesis of the world where his former team resides.

Lee was never "good” at Taijutsu, let alone being a genius at it. The series' main theme, revolves around bonds. When the manga began, Naruto let loose Kurama (unintentionally) against Haku, breaking all Ice Mirrors that ... no Jutsu could break; and that, happened way back in the Waves Arc. How does that associate "hard-work" with Naruto's character, upon whom many poor souls project their misfortunes to feel vindicated, when two geniuses (Sasuke and Kakashi) in the near-vicinity failed? Naruto powered through this via nothing but brute force; and that isn't a precursor to hard-work. That's the exact opposite. With the beginning of the next Arc, the "if we work hard, we could beat all odds, too" trope lovers got their kicks from Sasuke's humiliation at Lee's hands (or gates?); but then they conveniently forget that Lee himself stated that what Sasuke accomplished was literally impossible for someone like him (he even emphasized on this argument). Gai even went so far as to state that even with the Sharingan's power, Sasuke should never have been able to do what he did (he literally invented his own Taijutsu maneuver from Lee's in a single day; if that's not prodigious, I don't know what is); and Gai, last I checked, is an authority on the subject of Taijutsu, not you—yes, you! Sasuke mastered Kimimaro's CS in under two hours whilst Lee survived simply because Kimimaro was dying and he literally died whilst delivering a death-blow to Gaara and Lee; so thematically, narratively, and metaphorically, Sasuke matched an adversary against whom both Gaara and Lee lost? That and Lee was outshined by Sasuke twice in a row, going so far as to undermine Lee in his own life endeavors that involved years of sweat and tears?

Shikamaru's revenge is meaningless unlike Sasuke's.

My brief theories on hybrid psychology, biology, lifespan, historical connections to our world, and the possibility of other hybrids in the DMC world aside from the loser twins and Nero.

In Devil May Cry, being a hybrid is not exactly seen as a freak of nature but rather as something disgraceful on the demons' side. The reason for this is quite simple: humans are considered "food" for demons. Human blood is both literally and spiritually a fuel, an essential substance that feeds the demons. The fact that a demon has "disgraced" itself to the point of mating with "food" is a big deal among demons. A lot of Devil May Cry media comment on this—it's even directly said of Sparda that he "turned into a lustful monkey," because, in their eyes, humans are lustful monkeys. Worse, humans die very quickly; they're weak and fragile. You can imagine how much worse it is for demons, where power is everything.

As for humans, there is no canon information about their perspective that I know of. My theory is that some of the "demigods" and mythological figures mentioned in the history of the world are hybrids who were born on Earth before the separation of the two worlds, but that's a topic for another day. As far as we know, the hybrids that are on Earth right now are Dante, Vergil, Nero, and (probably) Matier.

What confuses me more is biology. Humans and demons are different species, even though they were once "one." And even devils differ from each other by looks, too. While Mundus looks like a human man, particularly Zeus, Sparda looks like a bug. Agrosax has both a female and a male body. But it looks like they can alter their looks and DNA enough to have a human-like body by using their demonic magic. And they can have hybrids, hybridity works strangely in humans and animals too.

In Homo sapiens-Neanderthal hybrids, only the female was fertile.

In the animal kingdom, female hybrids are usually fertile unless there is a direct biological problem.

This is a Mule. A hybrid born from a female horse and a male donkey. Female Mule can only breed with male horses. Male Mule are infertile.

This is a Hinny, born from a female donkey and a male horse. Both male and female ones are infertile.

Liger's are both thought to be unfertile, but like Mule's, female Liger's can breed with male lions, creating Liliger. Tigon females are fertile, but males are not. A female Tigon and a male tiger had bred and created Titigon.

The reason for this is Haldane's Rule. When I tried to apply it to demon-human hybrids, I came up with something quite funny: Vergil shouldn't have been able to have a child. The Sparda twins are supposed to be infertile. But if we replace this with demon fuckery, we get at least the following result:

Male hybrid: Can breed with human females. Cannot breed with demon females. Cannot breed with Hybrid females.

Female hybrid: Cannot breed with human males. Can breed with demon males. Cannot breed with Hybrid males. A sad day for people with Vergil/hybrid!Nero's mother OCs because hybrids are unable to breed and produce offspring. Probably. Their partial infertility isn’t the strange part—that’s expected. Hybrids are known to have accelerated healing, incredible strength, agility, speed—the list goes on. These are part of their demonic heritage. But the truly fascinating aspect is how it plays into their biology. The human body can't display even half the strength of hybrids unless adrenaline is involved. If humans could perform such actions, our muscles would tear, our bones would break, and our blood vessels would rupture. Not to mention the risk of brain hemorrhage, blood coming out of the eyes and ears, or even heart attacks. The reason hybrids don’t suffer from these conditions might be due to their superior healing abilities, but even that explanation only scratches the surface. It’s directly related to the fact that they are hybrids.

The reason why Dante and Vergil can fall or jump from great heights (with Vergil literally falling into hell and only fainting, and Dante jumping off a cliff in DMC4) and continue on as if nothing happened is perhaps due to the high ratio of collagen, protein, and hydroxyapatite in their bones. This trait likely begins developing in the womb, as their bodies produce an abundance of osteoblasts. However, it would be nearly impossible for human women to survive such pregnancies. The human body would struggle to provide the immense amount of nutrition a half-demon child requires, leading to either a miscarriage or the mother dying from malnutrition and exhaustion. This could explain why hybrids are so rare.

How Eva carried TWO hybrid babies remains a mystery, but Sparda was likely-no, surely highly active during and after the pregnancy. Otherwise, Eva would not have survived, since there are six hours between Vergil and Dante’s births.

I believe that if a hybrid woman ever became pregnant by a human male or a hybrid male, her pregnancy would be shorter. Since hybrids are not fully human, their bodies function in a way that's almost like Homo sapiens 2.0. Their growth factors would be insane: -Growth hormone would be highly elevated. -their IGF1 would be mutated, leading to significantly increased cell growth and development -mutated CDKs would regulate the cell cycle to promote faster cell division and growth. -placental efficiency would be enhanced, with Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor doubling the blood flow and nutrition supply. The cyncytin genes would also be more active. Anyway, you get the picture. Hybrid women could grow and pack a whole ass baby in about 4 months and call it a day. This process may be even faster in Devil Trigger form, but Hybrids can't hold their DT long enough. What bugs my mind is whether female hybrids would have periods. I think so? But the duration and intensity would likely differ from human women. One day I will write in-depth about female and male hybrid anatomy but for now, this is enough.

Another thing is, assuming hybrids are not easily cut or pierced by mundane weapons, their skin must produce high levels of keratin. Keratin is a protein that gives nails their hardness and forms the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). The calcification—the storage of calcium salts in the skin—must be high. At the same time, neither Dante, Nero, nor Vergil have any scars, acne scars, blackheads, or blemishes. Their skin heals perfectly, restoring itself to its original state. The white blood cells of hybrids must be working like crazy lol. To put it crudely, when they get a cut—or any wound, for that matter the white cells ring alarm bells and rush to close the wound. Blood clotting (hemostasis) begins, then cytokines are released and after that the bleeding stops, what follows is tissue formation (Proliferation). This happens in such a short time that it is hard to believe. At the same time, as I mentioned above, the high collagen and keratin ratios of hybrids also prevent scars. It's really strange.

Another thing is that hybrids have a highly developed sense of smell, hearing and sight. In DMC5, Dante could smell Urizen from quite a distance. And demons, even hybrids, have their own scent. According to Dante, it's not a nice smell. That's my guess, too. I think the sons of Sparda are fire-based demons, considering their devil trigger form (I don't know what to think of Nero because his DT form is very vague and very humanoid. But he still can be a fire-based demon, considering Sparda, Agrosax, and Berial are prolly fire-based demons but none look alike). Therefore, the smell of all three could be like burnt flesh or a sooty, weird grotesque smell which I like the idea of. This is probably the smell of their demon blood mixing with their human blood. The hybrids smell must differ from each other based on their type. We've seen demons from the four elements throughout the series, but I think there could be more concept-based demons, like ‘darkness’ because nobody knows where to put these demons, so they just call them darkness or void… things like that. Even though we humans are the same species, we can give ourselves different names to feel special, so it's not surprising.

Hybrids also have the ability to sense energy. This is something we humans possess as well since we live in an energy field and are always in touch with it, we can feel the energies around us. It’s the same for hybrids, but their ability to transfer and sense energy is far beyond what we can ever achieve. It’s canon that demonic energies can bring a hybrid’s demon side to the surface, calling and provoking it. In Deadly Fortune, when Yamato is fixed/healed by Nero, Dante feels a sudden and all-too-familiar demonic energy that unintentionally triggers his demonic side for a moment. This is Yamato’s call. Dante’s demon side is provoked by her and, inevitably, by Vergil’s energy because I wholeheartedly believe Yamato contains a part of Vergil’s soul. They are inbound.

Not much is known about how long hybrids live, but they do age, as we’ve seen with Dante and Matier. Interestingly, Matier lived long enough to meet Sparda. I think hybrids outlive humans, and an average lifespan of 300 years, like Tieflings. I’ll delve into the biological factors of this separately another time.

In the Devil May Cry anime, there’s an episode about a devil’s sincere love for a human. This kinda confirmed my belief that there MUST be other hybrids besides shit twins, Nero and Matier. People in love sometimes have sex, and if they want to, children are born as a result. However, based on what I mentioned earlier, I’m not sure how healthy the pregnancy would be.

The character themes are the best source for understanding the inner conflict a hybrid experiences. Their demon and human souls and blood clash with each other, fighting to see which will come out as the victor. This is evident even with Nero, which is interesting because he’s only about 15% demon, having a hybrid dad and a human mom. It’s weird because, physically, demon blood is dominant, but according to the lore, the human soul is superior. Nero has so little demon blood that he nearly lacks the demonic smell (Dante in Deadly Fortune and Malphas in Devil May Cry 5 comments about this). He’s more human than the twins—a very domestic boy. His psyche should be stronger than the twins. 

Dante's theme songs, however, are understandable, he is a half-breed, a perfect balance of two opposite sides. We see that these demonic urges are directed toward other demons, but I’m curious about whether hybrids have any violent urges toward humans. They are half-demon, after all. Demons are the predators of humans—Sparda himself ate humans before he awoke to justice. We humans even have cannibalistic urges, thanks to female genome transaction, our time cannibalizing each other has scorched into our brains.  Human blood is not just tasty to demons yet hybrids are not berserkers or lesser demons with zero intelligence. They have a brain and a human heart; I don’t see them openly fantasizing about mauling or eating people. But I’m pretty sure the smell of human blood would be appealing to them. It might be like smelling a barbecue and thinking, “Damn, that smells good.” But maybe it wouldn’t be enticing enough to make them attack or eat people. You wouldn't want to eat an alive cow while it stands there cowly, eating grass. You may even interact with it in a nonaggressive way. That’s how I think hybrids would act towards humans if they were in control. Yeah, IF. Returning to Sparda Kin’s theme songs, the inner conflict of a hybrid makes sense with what I’ve said earlier. When you lose control and your demonic side takes over, you essentially leave part of your human consciousness in the hands of an apex predator. In such moments, you could harm those you love or innocent people, or commit worse acts. In the Bible, Nephilim are said to eat humans. This is, of course, a biased point of view, assuming that Abrahamic religions derive their sources from ancient records. But these Nephilim (hybrids) are not all the same; they are all different from each other and this is proven by science, human hybrids and animal hybrids are always different. It is also said that Nephilim are immortal, but there is no explicit mention that they are truly immortal; they simply die. However, the existence of man-eating Nephilim might suggest that some hybrids would indeed have a desire to eat humans. By the way, Nephilim are directly related to our world and the DMC hybrid concept—giants. Hybrids result from the mating of Annunaki people left on Earth with humans.

And don't even get me started on the creepy similarity between the Annunaki legend and Sparda and Mundus. :l

Sacker is a minor antagonist from the arc that this WIP is a canon divergence of, and he's one of the beast-men in the Wild Lands. Specifically, he is a giant old snake dude who runs a huge storehouse/trading post/fortress type thing, and he was the guy who initially enslaved and drugged Kon into his feral/depowered state when he crash-landed in the Wild Lands after Sacker also, like, literally shot him out of the sky. He does that to literally every single human who washes up on shore, because he is the only person in the Wild Lands who has ever actually met a human who was in their right mind and after that experience he immediately decided that humans should not be allowed to have their right minds anymore.

In his defense: HUMANS.

The mark Panthera is referencing Kon drawing is Sacker's slave mark, which he puts on all his humans via differently-shaped pendants. Kon's version of it looked a bit like the S-shield, so Kon was attached to it when he was feral and wouldn't originally let Sacker take it back. See: below. Therefore, Panthera doesn't realize he is actually NOT drawing Sacker's mark.

In the original arc (it's like issues 50-54 of Kon's OG solo title, I belieeeeeve it's called "Last Boy On Earth" or something like that), he agreed to sell Superboy to Prince Tuftan in exchange for a historical artifact, as long as Tuftan agreed to keep giving Superboy regular doses of his serum. At the time Tuftan did not know humans were actually, like, PEOPLE, and thought he was just agreeing to sedate a wild animal to keep it controllable. Superboy was a few days out from his last dose of serum, though, and when Tuftan forgot to bring the drugs to put into his dinner and a mercenary attacked the king while he ran back for them, Superboy got his adrenaline up enough to burn through enough of the remaining drugs to remember how to talk and also, like, break his restraints and smash said mercenary through a wall, which kiiiiinda blew the lid off the whole "totally just a wild animal" lie. This AU is one where Tuftan did not forget to bring the drugs, and Superboy has as a result been in the Wild Lands ever since.

Issue 50 of that run was actually the first Superboy comic I ever read and my first introduction to the character, so I have a serious soft spot for the arc and I just could NOT resist writing something related to it when I got enabled to, haha.

Meng Huan is certainly a surprise! Not just to the parents, but to everyone else since it confirms that Tripitaka has certainly broken his vow of chastity! He can't blame it on the Mother-Child River this time. XD

Out of the grandparents; Meng Huan doesn't really have a favourite. Gonggong Chen and Popo Yin dote on the little girl since they were able to be present at her birth. And while Manjushri does have a little bit of favouritism for Meng Huan being is the most like his dear disciple - the dreamy cub has trouble listening to Manjushri and Fa Ming's teachings. Will fall asleep mid-lesson, not unlike the Golden Cicada themselves. XD

Of the parents, Meng Huan looks more like Azure - having his more prominent nose, wild (albeit blue-grey) mane, and purple eyes. She's the tallest of the cubs due to being a full liger - and therefore just kept growing.

In the case of "Dimension-Travelling Cubs" ending up in the canon LMKn universe;

Azure takes one look at the four cubs who fell out of a portal in front of him and smiles warmly. He doesn't immediately see them for what they are, but he's glad to see healthy little demons running around testing their magic.

They smell nearly *exactly* like him and a mixture of someone else. He also smells his former brother Sun Wukong upon them, though not as strongly - as if he were a pride member of theirs.

The four cubs run to him shouting "BABA!", clinging to his legs and rambling about how they were messing around in "Brother Wukong's" treasury and touched something they shouldn't, and all they could think to do was to open a portal home.

Azure quickly scoops up the cubs and brings them into the palace, much to the confusion of Peng and Yellow Tusk.

The lion is playing it cool. He certainly hasn't had a mate in forever, and he doubts there's any other blue-furred lion that he could be mistaken for. Clearly this is a case of time travel or dimension hopping.

Azure: "Children, do you know where you are?" Wenhou, confused: "Camel Ridge? We live here when we come home to see you, Baba!" Tangzi: "Baba's losing his memory." Boguang, worried: "Oh no! Was that what that mirror did!?" Azure, warm laugh: "No, no, children. I'm just trying to make sure you haven't lost your memories... is the rest of your family around?" Wenhou: "We were playing in Eldest Brother Wukong's treasury while him, Mama, Uncle Wujing, and Macaque were having tea together. Just as Wukong and the rest of the Pilgrims are trying to figure out how to send the cubs back to their own world - Azure gets the bright idea to kidnap Tripitaka. Demonic courtship afterall. If he can show the Tang Monk how good a mate he can be, maybe he'll like him in this world too?

The Pilgrims and the Brotherhood are forced to play nice for a bit in order to deal with the lovesick lion, the mortified monk, and the homesick children from another dimension.

Last night I dreamed that spn s16 finally got picked up by a streaming service. It was one of those 6-episode seasons and they kinda did a fix-it, BUT although Cas was back and having adventures with the winchesters and eye fucking Dean as per usual, the confession was never acknowledged or hinted at. But their relationship seemed softer (?) somehow less tense and repressed, but no one could really pinpoint why bc technically nothing had changed in their interactions.

But THEN it got leaked that they had actually filmed a TON of canon destiel scenes that for some mysterious reason didn't make it to the final cut. I'm taking four-hand-holding spirk style, Cas resting his head in Dean's shoulder while they were sitting on a couch, them coming out of the same room in the morning, references to them growing old together without Sam. Their hugs ligered for longer and were less aggressive, hands actually resting on each other's backs and not just slapping in a manly™️ way. There even was an "y yo a ti" reference!! Dean responded to something plot-relevant that Cas said with "and I, you" and a sly wink (in a close up of his face so it was really meant to be him winking at the audience).

It still wasn't acknowledged "explicitly". There was no soft nor sloppy old men kiss. There was no "about that goodbye" talk. So a lot of antis were holding on to that. And when they conceded that maybe all of that cut footage could have been considered as reciprocal destiel confirmation, it wasn't actually canon so it didn't count.

We were going even MORE insane than we are now. It was all so clearly there. We could have FINALLY had it all. But yet, somehow, #theysilencedthemAGAIN. And we couldn't even blame it on the homophobic network anymore. I'm taking Nov 5th and Nov 25th levels of insanity. The memes were fire. "They don't know about the market research" kind of insane but now it was "They don't know about the cut Canon destiel scenes".

I am rewatching KHR with two friends and when the fake Vongola rings got brought up, I was sat there wondering WHO THE FUCK could've made perfect replicas? I was already thinking of making an OC so I had the idea of filling that plot hole.

At the moment, Yona has the mist/cloud flames attribute. Regardless, he has the ability to essentially copy and paste any solid object with his mallet/hammer. (he can't copy/paste living things though like humans and animals) It just costs a LOT of energy depending on how intricate the object is.

Eg. Duplicating money isn't much of an issue , that's mostly how he gets by. But if he tried to duplicate something like the rings or the ten year bazooka, he'd be out for a few hours / or days.

I need to brush up on my KHR flame lore (looks at shimon arc's flames and ugly cries at my memory) but I am the rabbit/moon OC maker ever so I've been trying to cook up a Moon Flame for him to possess too. this come out of nowhere really, I just can't get myself to sleep without sharing this but why in all time travel fanfic. sephiroth seems to be extra aware of his status of " experiment " ??? it just, I don't know. I don't say that sephiroth or even genesis and angeal are stupid but it's strange to me that they seem extremely aware about it in those fanfic. when in crisis core, that piece of Informations seems to be new to them. i mean, do I just see the wrong issue? the way they learn that they are experiment choked them to the core. none of them reacted well? sephiroth just thought that he was special he said it himself.

maybe he lied to himself or the company and hojo did not treat him like we thought they did , at least outside of those experiment. so I find it weird when I read fanfiction that the big 3 already knows and acknowledged it, when that information was one of the big reveal and issues of crisis core.

also sephiroth not technically being 100 % aware of his experiment status means that most of us write hojo extremely wrong when he interacted with sephiroth. I mean, I don't know he seems to snob every one but sephiroth. in ff7, he was just weird, extremely fixed on sephiroth.

Truth is, most fanfic around Sane!Sephiroth is heavy headcanon, and I am no better. We know (somewhat) that Sephiroth was raised in Nibelheim for some time but obviously didn’t see the townspeople as he has no memory of them, so it’s easier to conclude he was raised in a lab or some other isolated Shinra area. Sephiroth doesn’t actually know much about his origins, neither in canon nor in my fic. He doesn’t even believe he has parents, which he doesn’t cause they’re both ass or dead, but that’s beside the point lol. Sephiroth’s backstory just gives a lot of room for headcanons and the fandom sort of mutually agreed “Yup he’s traumatized as shit” and rolled with it

Now what I definitely took creative liberties with is his confiding in Genesis and Angeal about this childhood trauma. This is a much bigger stretch and more than likely not directly canon, but since I have them in a romantic relationship, there definitely had to be some opening up about what the fuck Hojo was calling Sephiroth into a lab for once a week (back when things were *bad* bad). I think in canon, Genesis and Angeal undoubtedly spotted some things that helped them see that Seph wasn’t completely normal, but they took it in stride because they’re good friends like that.

I would like to clarify one thing: the Firsts are aware that *Sephiroth* was treated badly during his childhood, but only as a SOLDIER child. They don’t have a clue about Jenova and the extent of what Hojo/Hollander/Gast did. Sephiroth doesn’t even know the full extent of what was done to him because as far as he’s aware, he’s a mako SOLDIER with a few gimmicks wired in. Traumatizing? Yes. Inherently monstrous? In his own eyes occasionally, but he’s got other people similar enough to him he can be talked away from it

The introduction of Jenova was nerve wracking and brand new and horrible and gut wrenching. They didn’t ask to be implanted with literal alien cells before their births, doomed to unstable and insane deaths before they’d taken their first steps. Sephiroth grew up a child SOLDIER, but monsters? Artificially made ones perhaps. A little gene splicing, even breeding, like how humanity helped the Liger happen (lion-tiger breed). But monsters that used to be *people*? That was new, and that terrified him. And that’s what sent him into the spiral. So I mean, you’re right. Jenova’s existence does shock them to their core, but Sephiroth’s entire childhood did not revolve around Jenova. Even if his purpose was to be a ‘mock Ancient,’ his developmental years revolved around being a weapon for war.

While I’m on that nofe, I’ve seen some comments on Sephiroth’s “alien cells” comment when he speaks to Zack on things for the first time and I want to clarify: when Sephiroth says alien cells, he meant foreign to the human body, not the fucking earth. None of them have a right clue what Jenova is, just like in canon

Also Everybody Hates Hojo so honestly I don’t think people are concerned? This is a man who was definitely not above experimenting on children, manipulated, nearly killed, and then experimented on a former friend, took advantage of a life/scientific partner for the advancement of an experiment and admitted to having seen her as nothing more than a tool, referred to Aerith as her species rather than a person and planned to literally breed her with another species (facilitated rape, basically), and in the OG game, helps fuel a major mental breakdown of Cloud’s for basically…no fucking reason? Not to mention DoG where he just…decides the planet’s fucking moving lmao. Literally goes “Ah yes, let me follow in my son’s footsteps and genocide the whole population so we can sail the stars :D”

the man is fucking mental regardless. just a personal opinion, but any rendition of Hojo is somewhat accurate if his cruelty is kept. Parallels between Diavalo and Giorno, both marked as monstrous and other from the moment of their birth but deciding differently what to do about it.

Parallels between Joseph and the Pillarmen, inhuman beings who don't care about what happens to humanity on their path to power, and one that defends humanity ferociously.

there needs to be a mid ground. They need to guide that part of themselves, gently but still firm. They need to find a middle ground, and while it won't give them complete control, the likelihood of them completely loosing it while transformed is severely reduced

(and for even more fun, what if they can technically shift when they want. Sure, every full moon or so they'll have a forced transformation where they'll run the risk of loosing themselves, but what if when they get more comfortable with it, they can control it, to a certain extent)

Since we're talking about this scientifically and you aren't really making it weird, sure, let's talk about this.

They're still under the cap-shell. They still have no functional use. I don't think Nora is fertile, since she has no means of egg development due to the circumstances of her birth, and she does not have the morphing capability to fuse a sperm with herself to morph into half of a new being, either.

Most real-life animal hybrids are incapable of reproduction. This is not true of all hybrid species, but it's true of most of them. The only ones that can tend to be incredibly closely related, such as ligers and tigons. Steven is not a hybrid of two closely related species by any stretch of the imagination, as he isn't even a fusion of two animals in canon, nor in the Grey AU. As such, most iterations of Steven in any case generally probably should be infertile. However, you likely could make an argument about his ability to produce children as a male, seeing as he would not need to pass on his simulated, nonexistent, or otherwise dubiously functional mitochondria to a child. Regardless, that biology would be so messed up in function that a child that somehow was born would likely need a lot of assistance to survive, especially seeing as Rose planned Steven out incredibly carefully, at least in this AU.

So like, a comment was made on "think pink" that has me highly tempted by a new fic idea, haha. Like, for anyone who does not know, Kon canonically DID once end up temporarily feral-brained and adopted as a pet by a big buff tiger-man in very tight short-shorts, I did not create that particular lil' bit of Tim-melting backstory for kinky flavor, canon really is just THAT weird, hahaha. Also Tuftan is an honorable and self-sacrificing prince who, again, wears very tight short-shorts and has a pierced ear, yes think the tiger from Zootopia who would Treat You Right, and who ABSOLUTELY intended to just give Kon to his scantily-clad lioness girlfriend as a present once he tamed him up. Like if Kon had stayed feral, he would've probably just spent the rest of his life being the queen's bratty pet human because basically nobody in the Wild Lands knew that humans were actually, like, actual PEOPLE.

Anyway long story short now there is a part of me that would LOVE to write a fic where pet!Kon didn't get the feral amnesia drugs out of his system quite as quickly and just ended up spending a few years sleeping at the foot of Tuftan and Tawna's shared bed and getting his metaphorical tail pulled by their adorable liger babies, hahaha.

ARE WE TALKING PAN???? God pan has so much character potential. Like in any direction you take her, being a “3rd generation hybrid” leads to so much to work with

pan is absolutely fascinating to me, just from a purely scientific viewpoint. bc there are so few saiyans left that it’s almost impossible to draw a solid conclusion about the whole species (and the ones that are left were all outliers to begin with)

but then you have the gohan and pan, who are especially interesting, because generally male hybrids are infertile - if a lion and a tiger have a kid, the female liger might be able to reproduce, but all male ligers so far have been infertile. but pan is living proof that that’s not always the case - gohan is quite clearly not infertile, pan quite clearly happened.

all of that leads to even further revelations about the saiyans - like it kinda implies that saiyans aren’t actually that far removed from humans.

moreover, the relatively short known history of the saiyans and the only race we know they associated with before getting involved in planet-theft (the tuffles) could lead to some pretty interesting implications.

anyway this is a really roundabout way of saying that pan’s existence could lead the gang to discover that saiyans and humans are so compatible bc the tuffles just abducted some primates and genetically modified them

given that the earliest known saiyans appear a little under a thousand years bg (before goku), and assuming that if they’d had enough time to establish themselves then they’d been around for a few thousand years prior to that, it’s completely possible that the primates in my theory were early homo sapiens or possibly archaic humans of some form, along with some other strands of hominid, which is where the tail and ōzaru form come from.

it’d also explain certain other inaccuracies or improbabilities away, such as saiyan tails jutting straight out of their lower backs instead of where a regular tailed creature’s would be, implying a relocated tailbone or rearranged vertebrae. it could also explain why so many aliens exhibit behaviors that don’t really make sense for non-earthlings to have - the tuffles carted them across the universe, and humans are naturally curious creatures so they just. interacted with people.

granted, there’s not really any canon evidence to back this theory up, but i’ve been thinking about it for a while now and frankly all i truly need is access to wikipedia and an imagination.

Okiedoke. Here we go.

It’s cold and desolate at the Manor for a while. Batdad was the heart and soul of the team, and the life has gone out of it. Eventually it returns to basically what canon!Batman is like, but then it gets a little better. Bruce starts being more open and honest, and he works with the Batboys to make it better. He’s a little tougher on criminals and seeking out ways to end supercrime in Gotham. I think in some unconscious way, Bruce thinks now that if he can do the impossible and stop the supervillains, he might win Batdad back and give him the life he should have gotten had Bruce not become Batman.

Conner is interesting because he really likes Batdad - even when Batdad was with the Bats, he cared about Conner and made him feel welcome.

I imagine that Lois might actually be the surrogate for Clark and Batdad’s son. By this point she knows Clark’s secret and even if she’s a little miffed that she didn’t discover it all this time, she cares about him, and she figures that she can do this for her best friend, who always wanted to have a kid. By this time, with Conner’s creation, they know that human/Kryptonian hybridization is possible, so they are able to have Jon. However, there is the fact that the hybridization is unstable - Kryptonians and humans are close enough to interbreed but it’s like a liger, the result is not necessarily stable and likely sterile. Jon ages rapidly, but this decreases over time. In the first twelve months, he grows from newborn to five year old. Over the next 30 months, aging decreases slowly until he’s around 10-11 years old and ages normally. Jon is infertile - he won’t be able to have children biologically. But his mental development has been absurdly quick. He’s a prodigy of a kid, even if he is a little naive.

Tim is... he’s really stubborn. I think for a long time he’s gonna be angry and feel abandoned and such. And of course he’s not gonna talk about his feelings because like Bruce, he’s another repressed emotionally-wounded rich kid (I’ve been listening to Gotham City Guys from the LEGO Movie 2 and laughing my head off imagining me as Batdad singing it (with cameos from all the Batmen and Supermen and love interests from past DC movies)). Duke is different. He’ll probably come to terms with it by the time Batdad and Clark get married.

Batdad and Bruce have always been friends. Their relationship since they were barely out of diapers has been closer than brothers. They know each other better than anyone else, perhaps even themselves. They’ll always have that. Even with all the hurt and disappointment and trauma in their romantic relationship, they’ll always have their friendship and they will always be there for each other. Ultimately they just want each other to be happy. There will be a mourning period for the relationship, but I think Bruce would be happy for him and Clark.
