Quick PSA for authors that use Google docs to store their writing:

Google has created a new engine called Google Labs that is going to integrate itself into Google Docs.

Why this is bad?

Google claims that they are going to keep your data in a "safe" and "harmless" manner not associated with your Google account. This just means that they have the potential to steal your writing without any credit.

Google has yet to implement Google Labs into Google Docs so your documents are safe. As of now, it’s safe to assume that Google is not using your information unless they inform you that they do via email or some provided contact.

Additionally, it has been said if they were using user documents, it would only be on a Google Labs account, not a personal account.

Alternatives for Google Drive include:

Microsoft OneNote

Libreoffice

Microsoft Word
