Is sanremo over? How did it go! Did you have fun, did it go the wayyou wanted it to? :)
it is over i'm so fucking sad i feel so empty post sanremo depression is REAL but it's worse bc i don't have next year to look forward to bc they're gonna have a new host and director and i am Scared. in this economy. i don't trust anyone. i'm scared that sanremo will go back to demo-christian right-wing friendly land and then what. but yeah it was really good for some reason i didn't expect it to be as fun as it was this year? i wasn't thrilled with the contestants when we got the announcement but it was really good... was missing that achille lauro flavored gay activities on stage but yk. no gay kissing after what happened last year ig. BANNED
for what concerns the results. ehh. my three favorites didn't even get in the top 5 but most of my other faves did well so it's ok all things considered. can't believe mahmood didn't get in the top 5 i will Not be forgiving anyone for that, dargen got fucking NUKED to like 20th place and loredana was at least in the top 10 but i was ROOTING FOR HER SOOO HARD see my icon. that's her. mother. BUT! ghali got 4th place which is very good all things considered and two kids from south italy got 1st and 2nd, one of them bringing a song fully written in dialect which is a really big deal For Me and the other one being the first girl who's won in like a decade so it's good. it was the year of minorities who could give the fascist politicians a stroke just not in a gay way this time we were going for north africa south italy alliance mediterranean girlies rise UP!!!!!!
on a lighter and sillier note the now iconic historic host and his uhhhh. special friend. said their ship name w they whole chest & pussy in a song about how they're the greatest couple in the land and then when it was all said and done they left the building in a horse-drawn carriage looking out of a heart shaped window and kissed each other's cheek as it was riding off into the. sunrise given the time. i'm gonna miss them like air
#ask#they said free palestine and got shit from the media for it but the people love it and it's good to see that the news don't represent#us the people. cause sometimes i worry if most of us in italy are on their side or not so it was good to see

Seeing articles and videos about “Israel” arming settlers reminds me of the stories my great grandpa told me about May 8th 1945. How France armed the settlers so they would help the colonial authorities kill Algerians. 45000 Algerians were killed in just a couple days and many more were jailed without proper trial.
The general who organized the massacre said to France “I got you 10 years of peace. But things need to change in Algeria, they failed only because the protests were not simultaneous. The calm is back only in surface, the gap between the two communities deepened. You cannot keep on using violence if you want to keep Algeria and your methods need to change.”
He was right (still a peace of shit cause dude organized the massacre of 45000 Algerians). France didn’t listen to him and 9 years and a half later on November 1st 1954 the Algerian war of liberation started with simultaneous attacks all over the North of Algeria. It started with 1000 men only and 8 years later Algeria was free of French colonial rule.
That’s why I’m convinced that Palestine will be free because Israel is repeating the same mistakes France did. My grandpa keeps telling me that he trust Palestinians to take back their land because that’s the natural order of things and because “Israel” reminds him so much of France. The methods, the lies, the propaganda. And just like Algerian women managed to show to the world what was truly happening and switched the public opinion, Palestinian journalists are showing to the world what’s happening. It cannot be ignored.
Pro Israel aholes reached the point where they have to disguise their protests as protest against antisemitism in order to gather any form of support from the public. Western medias already lost all credibility to the point where they are backtracking a bit. Politicians are backtracking slowly too. Because they are realizing that if they keep up the unconditional support they will fall with Israel (tbh I think they are all falling with Israel either way because whenever the Global South rise the West fall cause the West is unable to thrive without looting and oppressing the Global South.).
Palestine will be free in our lifetime Inch’Allah and we will all share pictures and videos of the liberation. Palestinians are going to rebuild their country and thrive. If Algeria kicked out colonizers after 132 years Palestine can do it because it’s a country of braves. Because nobody can stop a people who fight for liberation when the people are united.

Can you dumb motherfuckers stop trying even now to SHAME people into voting how you want and instead talk about the good your candidate will do instead?
Fuck.
Democrats, liberals, and "leftists" can't read the room or strategize their way out of a wet paper bag.
Even now, with Biden out and Harris as a prospective new nom, I'm already seeing "yeah our guy sucks but <insert fear tactics here>"
That is not how you get people to the polls for your candidate.
That's why Trump is a threat. He is saying "this is what I'm gonna do." His followers and campaigners are going "this is what he's gonna do." THAT is what the average voter cares about. Is what he says he's gonna do lies or terrifying fascism? Yes. But when people are scared, insecure, full of despair or frustrated, they want hopeful things to cling on to, promises of change and action, what their candidate is gonna do for them, not "they suck but they suck less." And while wildly misplaced and sick, an action plan is what Trump promises, and his followers spplaud. So this shame shit isn't going to move them.
And as for those who are educated enough to see Trump as the horrific mess he is and will never vote for him, but not satisfied with the other option, shame STILL doesn't work. Because despair kills motivation. And "we suck slightly less" is just despair fuel. Why bother if everyone sucks? And no, a litany of horrors isn't motivation. We live in a litany of horrors, that ain't special. Again: Despair = hopelessness and helplessness = why bother?
Some of you may be too young to remember, but for those who aren't: Think of the Obama campaign. He wasn't some amazingly progressive angel with all the best policies (some were horrible.) But he was a hell of a speaker who promised hope. fucking learn from history. That promise, that fire for hope, got so many young people to the polls. It energized. And he won in a comparative landslide.
So Ok, you got rid of the guy who elitist donors and insufferable people on the Internet said they wouldn't vote for. K. Fresh start. Kamala ain't no Obama in terms of gifted speaker, but those of you talking about her NEED to treat this like the new opportunity it is, and start talking up the reason to be hopeful for Kamala Harris.
Here's a starter for you, for one of the big ones:
Harris has already been vocally more critical of Israel than Biden was, and did so much sooner. Has she said Free Palestine, abolish Israel? No. Of course not. No one in this election is going to. It's not gonna happen. So your options here is someone who has said they want to give Israel enough aid to turn Gaza to glass, or someone who at the very least acknowledged back in March that Israel's conduct is unacceptable. She doesn't have the personal connections to Israel that make her have a soft spot for people ordering war crimes.
I've already spent too long this evening writing this considering I mostly use Tumblr for fun stuff vs. my other social media, but that's how irritating some of y'all are being. I'd love to see and challenge others to reblog and tack on more of the reasons to vote FOR the presumptive nom here, vs. voting against the toupee'd terror.
#american politics#2024 elections#us elections#us politics#Rants#Sometimes I wish I could go back in the cave and see the shadows fuck#Kamala Harris#Organizing#I put leftists in quotes it's because I think most of the self proclaimed Internet leftists are really just embarrassed liberals

This Far Leftist shit really does scramble brains and make people not even have any common sense anymore.
There will not be a revolution because most Black People know the Far Left is as racist/antiblack and antisemitic as the Right.
That said; there’s something extremely harrowing about seeing Black People still embrace that bullshit. From “ Democrats are bad. All bad” when we are the base of the fucking party to celebrating a CEO being shot because “ US Healthcare” when the reality is white and nonblack PoC vote against better Healthcare regulations in so many elections but that’s a conversation that can’t be had with the Far Left. They’re too far gone and embracing the same shit as MAGA.
It’s the horse shoe theory at work and neither the Far Left nor Right can be reasoned with because they’re that far gone.
Hate seeing this happen to a relative and made sure to make a politics binder debunking misinformation for another. I won’t do it here because most users on this site have a one track mind and think, “ Dems are bad. We are getting a revolution after the GOP destroy everything”
It’s sad to see people believe in misinformation and frankly I do want that TikTok ban to happen. It won’t be much since the other social media websites exist but it’s a start. The way misinformation is spread and so many people believe the nonsense is extremely depressing and there’s not much one can do to de-program all the misinformation one has been led to believe.
I mean when people still wanna argue about Kamala Harris being a cop and twisting words and beliefs the bullshit that she “ locked Black Men up got weed” or the 1994 Crime Bill that Black People wanted and blame Biden and or Clinton; or whoever the fuck is the target this week of leftist misinformation there’s just not much reasoning you can do with those who are committed to being stuck on stupid
Fuck Leftists and Fuck the Free Palestine movement and everyone who supports that antiblack/antisemitic bullshit lmovement” .
Fuck Jill Stein and all third party candidates.
Fuck Trump voters
Fuck third party, aka a Trump vote, voters as well.
At least the Far Left and the Right are united in learning that playing around with voting is going to have extreme consequences and I can’t wait to see what happens to the jokers who wanted to joke around with this election. Let’s see if any of them will finally learn to stop believing bullshit that Russia literally keeps feeding them after finding out that Trump is going to fuck over so many even worse than the first time.
I just hope that Kamala Harris voters aren’t as affected but considering how 2020 played out with the pandemic and another on the near horizon; that sadly won’t be the case..
Believing misinformation is going to be extremely costly..

What is your perspective on tlou2 being inspired by the Israel-Palestine conflict? It didn't register with me at first but I've gotten too attached to the characters by the time that I discovered it and it is genuinely disappointing HOWEVER I have separated their narratives from the political dimension of the game by just focusing solely on the individual emotional journeys that each of the characters go through and I never really bought the games myself first hand except get them second hand but is it still wrong to adore the characters?
Not happy about it. I mean, who would be?
I wasn't aware of it at first either; it just didn't click, and then I started seeing the rumors, and well, it all made sense. I am disappointed. Not at all for Neil Druckmann, though. I don't really care about him (except for his amazing mind, where he created Ellie and Joel, the only fictional characters that I've got to love so much). What I am disappointed in more is that almost everyone thinks that once you continue to love this game, you support the evil too. Which is not how I feel about it.
But then again, does even my opinion matter? I've already got a lot of anon messages throwing hate on me for managing a blog about TLOU and supporting the evil. And I sit here and wonder... where did I ever say that I supported the bad side of the conflict? I don't think I ever did. Why? Because I don't talk about politics on this blog. This blog has been made to share love with all TLOU lovers, not to support Neil Druckmann or anyone else's political views or to even share about politics in general.
People are quick to judge. They go and preach to stand with Palestine and then go hate on the people who chose to stay quiet. People should realize that individuals managing fandom blogs and not sharing politics doesn't automatically mean that they support the evil. We (bloggers) have our own personal lives out of our blogs and our own personal accounts. Many of us are posting about the conflict on our personal social media. People should think about this before making bloggers feel like shit for managing silly blogs where they don't want to discuss what can be discussed elsewhere.
I have a deep bond with this game; I had it a long time ago before any of this was happening (everyone knows I will always prefer the first game over the second). This is not something I can just throw away. I have memories connected to it, feelings, emotions... it's not like I can tell myself 'fuck the game' now just because of the news I got. I guess it's easy for others when the bond is not so strong, but this game has been in a better part of my life for so long, and believe it or not... when I think about how Ellie and Joel make me happy, I don't have fucking Druckmann in mind or any of his political views.
I will never mix my admiration for this project with politics. Me not agreeing with Neil Druckmann's political views won't change the fact that I've already fallen in love with this game years ago. I am not loving Druckmann; I am loving something he once created. That is a big difference. Especially if you've already loved the game before the conflict.
I say, unless you're actively supporting the propaganda and throwing your money at it, you are not hurting anybody. You, being emotionally connected to the story of this propaganda's project or its characters won't really change a thing. Not for good, yes, but not for bad either.
Anyway, this is my opinion. I think people should stop judging those who are not sharing politics on their fandom blogs because they never know what these people share on their personal accounts. We are here to enjoy things that are free; love and joy for fictional characters we've adored for too long.
Sorry, I got a bit carried away. This is probably the only post about politics I'll share, so this needed to be said.
Anyway, you don't need to feel bad for loving the characters. You are not doing anything wrong. I think every one of us who still loves TLOU to this day is able to detach from the fact of who's behind the games. We're here for Ellie and Joel. They don't care about Druckmann either.elliespuns answers

I really hope Pedro wins at least one between Emmy or Golden Globe but I’m so scared of this hating he’s receiving lately cause every one is accusing him of being a zionist😭.
I’m afraid they won’t let him win for this, cause it might not be a good thing making a zionist win an award (even though he is not since he’s always been pro Palestine but people don’t understand that he’s not a “free man” anymore and he has to listen to what his team says even about a post on instagram)
Honestly anon, I'm so sick and tired of this bullshit, if you knew how many asks calling him a "zionist" and a "pig" I had to delete...
I genuinely thought that what happened to that actress from the Scream franchise was the perfect example to why Pedro hasn't said anything about it and he probably won't, but I don't know if people just play stupid or if they are actually that stupid to think he's gonna risk the career he worked hard his whole life for that. First of all, we don't know what kind of activism he does away from the spotlight, maybe he's doing a lot anonymously, we won't know, and even if he isn't doing anything at all, Pedro is human, and just as every human being, it's okay if he is selfish to be an activist for the causes that only affect him directly, after all, we can't embrace the whole world, we can't fight for every single right or cause, and he is not a politician, he doesn't have power to cease fire or take any decisions. Nobody likes to witness a war going on, but unfortunately most of us can't do anything about it.
And then people go like "oooooohhhhhh but Sarah...."
yeah, they've known each other for 30 years, maybe he got disappointed in her, maybe not, we also won't know that, but I think it's pretty obvious you don't stop loving a person just because of her political, social etc views, no matter how shitty they are!
Overall, people need to calm the f down, I saw some fans calling him "a coward" and shit like that, his last ig post had the comments turned off, and not only that, people are spamming the comments he leaves on his friends'/relatives' social media, don't people realize how sick that is?
He doesn't have the obligation to post about any kind of shit, he doesn't owe any of us a """"position""" on stuff, as far as I've seen, his fandom is composed by functional adults, we can tell what's right or wrong, we don't need Pedro Pascal making an instagram post to tell us what we are supposed to do, support or say, you see what I mean?
And I'm sure he's gonna get that Emmy and that Golden Globe, he's the best and his acting deserves it 💘

the more i read about the 2006 palestinian elections via wiki page rabbit holes the more i think the language surrounding it is so EXTREMLY weird considering where we are now with a divided palestinian government where theres not been legislative or presidential elections for soon 18 years even tho the attempt has been made at Least twice and has been embraced by both hamas and fatah in 2021 only for the scheduled election in may the same year to be suspended indefinitely by soon 18 year president abbas whos term was supposed to end 2009
from what im reading hamas and fatah got a ye old american split in 2006 where hamas got 44% of votes and fatah 41% which was a shock for israel and usa who favored fatah, this in itself would have not been a problem if not for
SURPRISE! PEOPLE GETTING INVOLVED THAT HAVE NO RIGHT GETTING INVOLVED!
the quartet on the middle east is a group of the usa, russia, the un, and the eu which for some reason was in charge of mediating between israel and palestine (please observe the usa bush administration in the room with us as well as the marked lack of middle eastern representation within the mediating parties)
the quartet said that the election was free and fair but
where youd fucking think it was the non-violence part that hamas had problems with or the recognizing israel part and maybe it was but im reading the wiki page for the Road Map of peace which is what this is talking about and good fucking god dude its so bad but if you insist on not reading the article which you should its terrible just know that famous war criminal george bush of 9/11 fame and a hardline israeli president (who as defense minister was found by an official israeli enquiry to bear personal responsibility for the Sabra and Shatila massacre) was calling a lot of the shots and being dicks about how palestines parliament should look like and who should get to do all the violence (israel, against palestinians)
so yeah the quartet was kinda asking for a lot and hamas which had branded itself on reform and change to the at the time kinda pathetic government (re: Road Map from 2000-2004 holy shit) said we're not gonna do all that to which fatah said well then were not forming a unity government to which hamas went well were gonna form a government anyways and they did which was followed by a year of tension and conflict between hamas and fatah, international sanctions levied against the palestinian government, and the blockade of gaza (which hamas had not yet taken over)
in 2007 a unity government was created. according to leaked documents authenticated by the guardian and published together with al jazeera; abbas and the PLO conspired to form this government and if it didnt meet the quartets conditions abbas would dissolve government and set up an emergency government, which happened when hamas allied forced and fatah allied forces clashed in gaza, believed by IISS to have started over suspicion by hamas that the fatah allied presidential guard (loyal to abbas and expanded by the us) was going to take over gaza
concluding statements: the way the media talks about this time is either that gaza exclusively voted for hamas without mentioning that hamas won the majority in all of occupied palestine, or its talked about as a coup done for shits and giggles with no contributing factors. whats almost never talked about is the external involvements prior to and after the election
abbas has the constitutional power to call an election as the president, he could just do it still, thats a thing he could do
#palestine#rambles#this is all wiki stuff so some sources may be wack#but from what im reading like... fatah isnt looking good politically#then again theyve had 14 fraudulent fraudulent years to be better so who knows#i decided to have a look at the papers in question and the fact that abbas went with the percieved Worse option of the emergency#government is kinda telling to me now in hindsight what with the lack of elections#they say in the papers that it would be in the national interest to form a government that ''adheres to the quartettes principles''#but like didnt they preform a coup and then refuse to hold elections?#feels kinda wild to read like surely fatah wasnt planning a coup which led to the event which the western world calls a hamas coup?

Yess he’s worthy of my support, any of those weak links in the democrat party will never get a vote or support from me. I’m going independent, from now on They must earn my support. Support is not gonna be given towards anyone and especially not someone who is spineless
My 2025 goal is to just let shit play out. When I see Trump doing stuff that is harmful I will post 🤷🏽♀️ because people were warned. And I’m not gonna apologize or feel any guilt about that. Politics will not drain my energy. I have my phone taken multiple times over this, I didn’t have my phone throughout May and July because of this. I have even wanted to leave my house out of anger.
One act of rage had my mother so outraged that she held me up and push me onto the floor and made me bleed and she said if I ever acted that way again, I don’t need to worry about me leaving out voluntarily because she’ll throw me out! I refuse to let my mom or dad push them to the point where they will pushed to a level of rage that leads to what some people will call “them being abusive and for that reason they both should be killed for it even if that abused ends up doing to them what the Mendez Brothers did to their parents”
It’s not my job to fix whats broken. Somethings just be repaired. And even if it does, it will never be the same. It’s not a pessimism it’s reality.
I’m not part of the “resistance”. Those days are over. 🧵
What I will be doing is paying attention to and posting about what is happening in Michigan at the state & local level and keeping up with my our congressional delegation. It’s time to get back to the basics because all politics is local.
I am tired and I know many of you are as well. Go on vacation, spend time with family, and just go live your best life. I am not trying to be on social media as much because people have truly lost their damn minds. 2024 was insane and rest is needed. This election nearly killed me, it was nearly unaliving me and my livelihood , because I spent all my days ranting about a man who doesn’t care about me anyway and it’s not even worth talking about at least if I want to keep my phone for the rest of the year and next year and my sanity(but mostly my sanity)
Trump and republicans can no longer lie and hide behind the lies that democrats are the ones doing everything they have the White House senate and congress whatever happens after January 20 2025 until January 20th, 2029 it’s on them. Those who allow it don’t owe us who warned about it any apologies . I don’t want you to beg on your knees for forgiveness, I just want you to change, you upset about it, do something about it. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t wanna be a hero for everyone anymore. I choose to be my own hero, tired of saving people from their mistakes. They wanted this so let’s see how they pick themselves up. They asked for all this suffering. I’m just gonna sit there and watch.
My resistance is resting. My resistance is saving money and spending it on what I need and Less on what I want. My resistance is increasing my spiritual relationship with Christ. My resistance is living my life rebuilding my mental health and state of mind. And if it means, I got a step back and not take such a political approach unless it’s from a state and local perspective (unless it’s the 2026 midterms, though I said mf the midterms but in my defense, I said that out of anger and 2028 elections) then so be it. And speaking the 2028 elections if the dems wanna maintain the base , they need to choose a candidate that is not weak minded, and determined (and they better not backstab him or her either, because the base will not forgive or forget) the base is black ppl more specifically black womenfolk.
until then we need to get back to having fun again. Yeah Having fun while the country burns down is a lot less fun tbh. But there's nothing we can do about it except watch. They(hews, Latinos for Trump, free Palestine and uncommitted) chose this. I just hope that this country doesn’t go through another virus where I have to stay home for the majority of the year
Don’t get me wrong I’ll pay attention to the local and state elections in Michigan but as far as this on a national level, yeah Politics can kiss me for a minute. I’ll try it again in 2026 and 2028. Hopefully whoever becomes the leader of the free world after these next four years , doesn’t make America more screwed up than it already is about to be for the four years after these four years
#This is me the next 4 years#. Fuck those backstabbing people#they say that they are with us#and they vote for this 3rd grade educated unpa lumpa.#Fuck you all!#I’ll see you in 2026#I hope you suffer bad#. I’ll side eye you at the midterms#and prepare to be sick of me in 2028#There’s no protest or prayers#It’s thoughts and deportations#thoughts and consecration camps#thoughts and Gaza being the new beachfront resort#thoughts and the Palestine ppl#who’s lives you screwed#because you wanted to revenge vote#against Kamala Harris#outrage against you#Like they asked for it#Thoughts and tariffs#Thoughts and deportations#Thoughts and suffering#Thoughts and your daughter having a baby by rape or incest#Thoughts and watching you suffer#Don’t ask a black ppl for nothing no more#2024 presidential election#election 2024#early voting#us election#kamala for president

Hi. So Daniel is my favourite driver, but I honestly agree that he does some weird PR stuff that he shouldn’t do.
I’m not here to change opinions or anything like that - everyone is 100% allowed to have their opinions on the drivers. I just wanted to point something out.
Regarding that podcast he did with that Segura guy and his wife(?). He definitely should have shut down that question but he didn’t. That is one of his biggest problems I think.
But there is one thing about it, I went back and checked, and he said Budapest in reference to that lady speaking, her family is from there. So when the question of best “puss” came the woman said “Eastern Europe obvi” and then Daniel said “oh yeah, Budapest… were you born there? I’m deflecting here.” While pointing his hand at her.
So that’s just one thing I’m like he didn’t answer “puss” question, he said Budapest in reference to the woman’s family being from there.
But Daniel do have some questionable friends, and I don’t know what his PR team are doing.
I hope he’s not the special guest on the Segura. If it is him, well, he’s stupid to do it.
I agree with the other anon, it would be disappointing.
I did like what you said about Lewis, yeah, he seems like he is friends with Brad Pitt, but I do thing it seems like it’s more for his movie than anything else. Lewis is always the one who speaks so much about activism and f1 academy, truly appreciated.
I took a quick look at your blog and I love how much it’s filled up with support for Palestine!!
this is late because i had a few days of dealing with allergies and then surviving the weekend but we're here. there isn't much i've got to say because you've said anything that needs to be said really
i swear we need to bundle every single driver away from social media or going onto podcasts that are infamous for peddling shit opinions lol, because things can get ugly fast re: budapest aslkdfasdlkfj
at the end of the day, these are our rich thick necked tax evaders zooming around in cars that we all love in some degree, and we defend them because we expected more from them. we can admire them, but also willing to criticize them, and be as civil as possible to our fellow fans. the bar's on the ground with how much respect each driver gets though, i know i wouldn't be happy being around someone positively if they were the fans of the likes of m/zepin or f/rrucci.
anyways, forever free palestine, and for all those who may be passing by; keep eyes on sudan, free congo, free tigray, free the uyghurs, listen to the rohingya people, free hawai'i, land back, and may all imperial powers fall and all genocides stop. i probably missed a few things happening, but hopefully the last two will be catch-all.

Xmas 2023: Dead Culture Reigns
Christmas is progressing as I write this with nothing but inevitability. Too much money has been spent. Too much alcohol drunk. Too many people eating too much. Even more people not eating enough. Far too many sleeping in the streets. Looking around the media at least, it seems like nothing truly ever changes; just as many wish it to be. Christmas is a child fantasy orchestrated by adults who refuse to grow up, preyed upon by those who only wish to make money from the process.
This is a time of inviability; finely tuned to reduce surprises. Although for the first time in a long time, the music charts were a battle ground for the coveted Xmas Number 1 Slot; fought out between two songs that are forty years old and one that is thirty years old. All of which beats the Simon Cowell annual stitch up for sure, but has no other culturally worthwhile feature.
There are new Christmas songs, but no one hears them because radio does not do it’s job of presenting new music for people to decide themselves if they like it or not. The creative powers behind Last Christmas and Fairytale of New York are both gone now. George Michael it seems was beaten down by a music business that wanted him in a box, to be taken out at their whim to make money doing the same album over and over. He had other ideas. Shane MacGowan was also someone judged by the same industry, not least for daring to give us songs about injustice, the vile actions of the British state in Ireland, the working class history of standing up to power, or just the humanity of those rejected by society and left in the streets. Few obituaries discussed his politics. Some mentioned his support for a free Ireland; none that I have seen mentioned his support for a free Palestine.
Now the same powers just want us to download or stream or however you do it; the same songs because no one is allowed to make new ones, unless of course they sound like autotuned versions of the old ones.
But no, I must be dreaming. There are no other options, only what has come before can be repeated – from shit music to failed economic programmes. There can be nothing new, ever. There can never be any genuine progress.
TV was just as empty. All the usual Christmas specials of yesterday (and the day before; and the day before that) were on again. If you missed them, you could catch them on streaming, or another satellite channel that exists purely to make you believe no culture has existed since the late 1970s. The figures came out Boxing Day stating that the King’s speech had got millions of views or plays or however they grade it now. The most popular programmes were Doctor Who and Strictly Come Dancing – ‘no surprises there’ said the BBC commentator; you got that right mate.
Meanwhile, Channel 4, former bastion of all things alternative, gave us all the usual animation features they play every year and on Boxing Day had a double bill of The Great Escape, followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark. Beware that bleeding edge. Rather more seriously, their ‘alternative’ Christmas speech was from Stephen Fry, wearing his Jewish badge for a day and trying to make out he feels unsafe in a Britain that has large-scale demonstrations against the genocide being carried out by Israel against Palestinians (but, you know, Stephen and David Baddiel are the real victims here right?). He was once on a Channel 4 special for the gay community; now he advocates for extremists like Jordan Peterson, who has spent much of his career targeting trans people, who suffer vast levels of hate crime on a regular basis.
Netflix gave us a special from the only type of comedian that gets air time any more; unfunny rich cunts preoccupied with making themselves victims, pretending to be edgy telling the same jokes that would have filled the worst clubs of the 1970s, while claiming they are being cancelled everywhere.
The message is clear; we the establishment and their useful tools have made great efforts to shut down society to any alternative to what we like. The fact this has lead to a near-total shut down of culture does not matter; we are in control. Who wants anything new anyway?
Shallow. Empty. Pointless. Repetitive.
The project has finally taken hold and now it seems we cannot produce anything new. The uniqueness that once sprung forth from streets and towns has been beaten out of us. What do you expect really from a society that prises the middle class followers for their lack of talent and makes sure we all have to consume it daily. Those who never try to step out of their lane and more importantly, shut down the lanes to real creatives, are the only people rewarded. The working class need to understand that Britain can never allow another Beatles, Gang of Four, The Fall or The Pogues. There cannot be another Grime scene. Nothing that shows the raw power of working class creativity and for sure, we cannot allow anything to succeed that is born of the multiculturalism we have spent so much time and effort decrying.
Britain is dead. It is specifically culturally dead because we are incapable of producing anything new. We all know why, it has ben gone over so many times. This is the cultural outlet to fascism. The mythic past and how much better it is than the present is really just a tool to further cancel the future.
The establishment needs to be relieved of their power. The slate should be wiped clean and we can start over, with the priority given to working class creativity because this is always where the best stuff comes from. End the hegemonic control exercised by the worst people imaginable, who go from giving us nothing to live for culturally to justifying the mass murder of a people who make them feel uncomfortable. We must refuse to be a part of this any more. It is no longer just about crap TV and music; it is about power and who can imagine a better tomorrow – and how much they are allowed to.

Incredible that they're doubling down by pretending the protest was of the AUSCHWITZ MUSEUM. Not of the march on the Jewish day for remembering the Holocaust. They were protesting the mean old museum! Which, like All Bad Jews, just loves genocide! They NEEDED to fuck with people about their OWN genocide, because... the.. museum?... something irrelevant about Poland... supposedly defends genocide.
What an effective, clear form of protest!
Obviously if you disrupt an event about surviving genocide, you care very much about genocide!
Clearly, you are standing against genocide when you do this! What could say such a thing better than treating genocide survivors like garbage humans?
Now the mean, bad museum of a literal death camp where OVER A MILLION JEWS WERE KILLED IN FOUR YEARS, which means MORE THAN 250,000 A YEAR, which means 20,833 PER MONTH JUST IN AUSCHWITZ ALONE, NOWHERE ELSE, will uh....
Close? Summon the Cabal of Jewish Diaspora Puppeteers who control the media and the global governments, and have them vote to tweet at Netanyahu to Knock It Off???
Unclear what their demands or goals are, but SURELY this will free Palestine!
LMAO this is fascinating. They actually heard of Amin al-Husseini, but the only thing they know about him is (reading between the lines here) that Netanyahu got in shit a few years ago for blaming the entire Holocaust on him.
Which was itself an absolutely fascinating propaganda shitfest. All the stuff I've seen from it acts like what Netanyahu had actually said was basically, "Every Palestinian on earth, collectively, came up with the idea of the Final Solution and cabled it to Hitler." Like, the pearl-clutching at the very IDEA.
Meanwhile, bro literally got the Nazi Party to fund armed militias for the Muslim Brotherhood, specifically to target Jews in Palestine, and then sent 700 members to the Nazis for training. This was the armed wing of the Muslim Brotherhood before they invented Hamas. And all of that stuff is practically unknown.
It becomes more and more obvious that the short-term goal for Hamas, propaganda-wise, is just to give people completely pointless actions that make them as angry and misinformed as possible.
(The long-term goal, unfortunately, is probably to sway public opinion entirely, and/or convince a critical mass of truly awful antisemites that suicide bombings or mass shootings are activism.)
This is another one of those protests where I really really want to get inside the heads of the organizers and find out what they thought the best-case scenario for this would have been.
What, exactly, did they hope to accomplish by yelling at Jews remembering the Holocaust in Poland at one of the most notorious concentration camps? And why did they think that yelling at Jews at a concentration camp in Poland was the best way to accomplish that goal?
At this point, one of two things is true. If they wanted to make an actual serious political point about the way that Israel is prosecuting its war on Hamas, perhaps with the goal of persuading Bibi Netanyahu's government to work towards a ceasefire, then they failed spectacularly. In this case, they are complete dumbasses who have absolutely zero concept of how the human act of communication works, and they've erased their message in the noise of insult and offense.
The other scenario is that they saw a prime opportunity to harass Jews at a time and in a place where said Jews might feel the most vulnerable or the most emotionally charged. In this case, they are antisemites who are capitalizing on the shitshow going down in Gaza and using Palestinians as an excuse to be cruel to Jews.
Which is it, I wonder . . .

America, We Need to Talk
For some reason in these past years the concept of ‘Reason’ and ‘Sense’ has departed your country, I’ve hissed, I’ve simmered, I’ve hit my head against the wall hoping that in the end IN THE END the collective mass of the American People will open their eyes, stop making excuses and realise that for 4 years, America has not become ‘Great Again’ I’ve resisted the urge to unload many a time, but news that Donald Trump is to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize is just too much, because this is literal horseshit. For some part it feels like they’re only trying it just so Republicans can force a rhetoric as if Trump did a better job than Obama - who won in 2009 for easing religious tensions, preventing Nuclear Weapons distribution and profiting, working towards fixing climate change and assisting with the UN - as people die of COVID, cities burn and violence against peaceful protests continue to ravage your country.
I have to say that again, Ravage, because I feel as though some people are blind to the matter at hand. Donald Trump will say something and his cult of followers will believe it, when someone disagrees and presents evidence it’s deemed irrelevant or forged, if a Democrat says something on the contrary they need a full powerpoint presentation to prove it, somehow this mentality has poisoned the American society when the louder people will say something in confidence only for the rest of the world to read and think it’s one of the dumbest shit they’ve ever read. This isn’t just coming from a Brit, this is coming from family in Chicago, a co-worker who moved out of America and worked in the army, Italians, Greeks and someone who was in Hong Kong during the riots. The people who believe in Democracy, Majority Vote, Free Healthcare, Fair Wage, Equal Rights AND international peace that doesn’t look towards World War Fucking Three look at your country in shame because the state of your leadership and how it’s been allowed to continue with ridiculously boneheaded and stubborn reluctance to see the truth. So let’s start with the boiling point shall we, a Nobel Peace Prize Nomination? Have you learned anything from the last year? Or has the far-right got the prize so by the balls that this nomination is used as a cheap add-on to coincidentally peacock the Trump administration in its build to an election. The nomination to Trump has been cited to be in favour of the following things; Israel-UAE relations (aka ‘Saving the Middle East), Serbia-Kosovo deal (aka ‘Saving the ‘Middle East’’), Inter-Korea relations and likely the support of Jerusalem and Hong Kong, and in face value that may sway the common person who knows nothing about these deals. But a simple amount of research cuts most of these at the legs. Let’s talk Serbia and Kosovo, since it’ll directly involve Israel, relations were tense but they have not been at war, they are peacefully not talking to each other. The media will have you think that Peace has been brokered by Trump only in this but in reality Serbia still refuses to recognize Kosovo’s independence, the tensions are still there you can just travel there now. This is an agreement that’s been build up since the economic and trade agreement in 2013. If that year isn’t surprising you that is 3 years before Trump was elected, when Barrack Obama was in office - Republican Public Enemy Hillary Clinton was at the forefront of that when she was Secretary of State. So no, Trump hasn’t saved the Middle East by this deal, mainly because Kosovo and Serbia are in Europe, they have been part of the EU for quite some time and the deal is already jeopardized since Serbia won’t build an embassy in Jerusalem if Israel recognize Kosovo as independent - which was part of the original deal. Also for all the Republicans’ use of ‘fear by Communism’ to slander their opponents they sure love to rub shoulders with countries also rubbing shoulders with Russia and China. So this segues into Israel-UAE, the Arab Nations have mainly been reluctant to recognize Israel as independent. On the 13th August a deal was struck called the Abraham agreement establishing Diplomatic Relations. Except, this was in the making since 2012 and only delayed to help progress Israeli-Palestine conflicts (which Trump’s actions with Israel led to Palestine cutting ties with the administration and his ‘Peace Plan’ falling apart 3 years after announcing it). UAE and Israel had been in conversation before Trump was signed in, but only made headway when the FDD - already funded by the UAE - took over. For 3 years USA did little for the relations, UAE and Israel doing it themselves, it’s only now do the US mediate a peace agreement, which meant that Trump didn’t really do much in terms of convincing both sides, he just made sure things didn’t get out of hand - which was never close to happening since there is little tensions. It was Kushner who requested the meeting and Mossad also had a huge part in it. Also I want to add that the US are only buddied with these two out of fear of Iran - you know, that country that Trump almost goaded into war in January after bombings and the death Assassination of General Soleimani who helped the US in the wake of 9/11 track and hunt down the Taliban, as well as fighting ISIS, how peaceful was that? The Middle East is still in Civil and Proxy Wars, no saving has been done there, the US just were there for Israel and UAE to confess that they’re friends. Which leads me to Korea. The Olympics helped more than Trump did, a shared effort where both countries had to travel and accommodate each other. Tensions may’ve eased in 2016 but they were far from resolved and in 2020 not much is better. Korea still antagonize one another and the North still antagonizes the US, any ‘peace’ the Trump Administration will claim to towards Korea faded quickly. And finally, Hong Kong, the US may be supportive and rightly so but this is again fear of Communism, it should’ve happened sooner but the US was hoping for that big and meaty trade deal with China. And this isn’t months I’m talking about it’s years, the proposal first took place after the Umbrella Movement...in 2014, it was annually brought up in Congress but postponed until the Senate decided to. And after Trump signed it he said he might veto it in favour of the China trade deal
“We have to stand with Hong Kong, but I'm also standing with President Xi: he's a friend of mine." - Donald Trump, November 2019
So really, this Nobel Peace Prize is the product and efforts of other people that set events in motion that Trump was there just to sign his name on. Meanwhile, in the country he is President of, the COVID Death toll has officially risen to 190 Thousand. 20% of COVID deaths are in the United States. Tear Gas/Pepper Spray - which is a recognized chemical weapon not allowed to be used in warfare - is used by Trump Supporters along with paintballs to attack peaceful protesters and Trump calls that peaceful because ‘Paint is not bullets’ - as someone who has been hit with Paintballs from safe range, they will hurt like a bitch and if you don’t wear protective gear they can do enough harm to crack and sometimes even break bone, the asthmatic co-worker I aforementioned that was in Hong Kong also notes that Tear Gas is awful, it may not kill you but it is far from peaceful. In the same breath Trump refuses to condemn a 16 year old carrying an AR and shooting someone in the head. He has also refused to condemn Epstein’s financier Ghislaine Maxwell and ‘hopes that she’s well’...the sex trafficker, but when you mention late Civil Rights leader John Lewis and his words are ‘can’t say one way or the other...he didn’t come to my inauguration’. This is your leader. The embodiment of the standards the country upholds itself to, it baffles me and many many others that the American People Chose a racist, bigoted, misogynistic, careless, self-important, naive, power-mad, severally-bankrupted, reality tv personality man-child, who is also intending to use US Taxpayers money to cover lawsuit fees against him alongside all his other golf trips. The man literally said that no other president has done more for Black People than he has, this is while he profusely condemned Kaepernick taking a knee to protest Police Brutality against Blacks and POC only for years later the world support it as BLM protests still happen because action has not been taken. We’ll also see what happens on the 14th regarding the Felony Hearing of the officers in Buffalo who pushed over Gugino and gave him a brain injury which he is still rehabilitating from after Trump tried to sell him as an Antifa member. Just in case you’re unaware, antifa stands for anti-fascist but Trump will paint that again in ‘Fear of Communism’. If you actually look up this stuff, the web of Trump’s lies unravel, and yet people just forget about. The man is a pro at gaslighting I’ll give him that, I mean leaking e-mails that condemned Clinton right at election time was some cutthroat stuff, but a man who needs to rely on preying on xenophobia, paranoia, fear, racism and invests mainly on smear tactics and dismantling, is not someone who can lead a country to prosperity, the amount of leeway this man gets from his supporters just hurts my head. So let me ask you America, truly, what is it that you want? Because it can’t be this, can it? Protests, Riots, people refusing to wear a simple face mask to limit the spread of a deadly virus because they think it’s a fake thing that the entire world decided to get in on with WHO just to spite Trump? Teenagers carrying guns? Refugees refused asylum and kept in cages? Do you want to keep spending your savings just to go to the doctors? or do you think that ‘Patriotism’ is blindly defending your country’s flaws and clinging to archaic and outdated thinking because centuries ago your country prospered in it? I’ll tell it to you straight: America is not the greatest country in the world, it hasn’t been for a long time. I don’t know what your history books tell you; that Native Americans were fine with slaughter, that the US won WW2 with the military might they always had, that Vietnam was a moral victory, but the present day should tell you that your country is a mess, and the man who has been at the helm for 4 years will not fix it in another 4. There’s only so much of Obama’s policies he can plagiarize as his own; he has left the UN, left the Paris Agreement for cleaner air and energy and all his original campaign members have been arrested, an alarming amount of people associated with him are facing criminal charges - is that not a red flag? Don’t let your thoughts that as a patriot you have to support your country no matter what, true patriotism is not just the love of your country but the hope and strive to better it because you can love it but accept that it has flaws. I mean even I’ll admit that the UK has a lot of its own shit to deal with, doesn’t mean I hate where I live I just know it can be better. If this were anyone else, hell if this were a Democrat the Republican party would be booking them a flight to the other side of the world with the stuff Trump has done and let to continue on with afterwards, through him you went from the United States to an Absolute State and the rest of the world wonder if this will either lead to World War 3 or a Second American Civil War You don’t have to like Joe Biden, but he clearly looks like the lesser of the two evils here, and at least in 4 years time America under him won’t be on fire. If you still don’t like him someone new could be elected after, but right now you are on a downward spiral and need someone who can put you back into a stable place, that man is not Donald Trump. The man who wants to intercept mail-in voting and outcry its ‘risk’ of tampering when he himself voted by mail is not a truthful leader, the man who tried to cancel the World Health Organization when they simply asked to not call COVID a racist name that incited xenophobia after decrying cancel culture is not a moral leader, and the man who said that COVID would peter out and suggested injecting disinfectant into the lungs to combat it only to now suddenly buy out all the experimental treatment so that they can try and engineer a cure in time for the election campaign, is not a wise leader. All the stuff you see in these coming months is just an attempt to win your vote, for the most part it’ll be Trump stamping his name on something other people worked on for years and claiming that he did all the work. So make sure you actually check the truth of these things, research and fact-check yourself with valid, neutral sources. Take off the blinders, take a breath and actually see the full picture. And please, as well as not letting this man have the Nobel Peace Prize Don’t give this guy have a Second Term

Carly: Demi Lovato fucking hates me. I’m fucking done and so do my other mutuals. Fuck this. Fuck everything. Fuck life. I’m done with this shit.
Claudia: What’s wrong
Carly: I started this fucking hashtag. The thing is I was supporting her. The Lovatics I asked to join were supporting and defending her. I’m just fucking done with every goddamn thing in my shitty life. I guess this is what I get for trying to support her and send her love. Whatever.
Screenshot: I’m extremely frustrated, I accepted a free trip to Israel in exchange for a few posts. No one told me there would be anything wrong with going or that I could possible be offending anyone. With that being said, I’m sorry if I’ve hurt or offended anyone, that was not my intention. Sometimes people present you with opportunities and no one tells you the potential backlash you could face in return. This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT and now I realize it hurt people and for that I’m sorry. Sorry I’m not more educated, and sorry for thinking this trip was just a spiritual experience. Going against all advice right now and apologizing because it feels right to me and I’d rather get in trouble for being authentic to myself, that staying quiet to please other people. I love my fans, all of them, from all over.
POST: Demi doesn’t deserve this kind of backlash. #weloveyoudemi
ddlovato: Or how about y’all stop having to make hashtags saying you love me every time you realize your words affect me?
Carly: I’m the one who started the hashtag because I fucking love you. I’m not the one who hurt your feelings and the Lovatics who I fucking asked to join were defending you. So I’m fucking sorry and won’t do it again.
Carly: Forgive me for standing up for you then and trying to show you support. I guess I’m done then.
~.O.~
If you have to ask me why I hate this woman, here’s another example. Let’s ignore the invalidating of other queer people simply because she never experienced homophobia from a certain person. Let’s ignore her siding with a genocide-supporting asshole. Let’s ignore her body-shaming of other women because of her own insecurities. Let’s ignore the myriad of other issues and just use this example.
Carly is a Twitter mutual of mine. She loves Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato equally. However every time Demi does something rude af or wrong, she’s at the forefront defending her no matter what the infraction is. To every fandom on stan twitter. To an annoying degree because I hate Demi as a person and don’t want to hear about her. But Carly is a nice person so I just shut up and say nothing whenever I see her Demi posts.
Recently Demi has been kissing Israel’s ass about how perfect they are essentially and how cleansing and calm the country seems during her trip there. A good portion of her fans were very quick to call out how not perfect they are and explain what’s going on with Palestine. They basically just asked for her to be more considerate of other people and what countries that aren’t America, are going through. Now the rest of stan Twitter has not been as kind with her on this matter. Most calling her very terrible names that shouldn’t be repeated even by me who hates her.
But her own fans have been very calm and defensive of her. And so comes that Insta Story and then the rude ass remark on that Insta post.
And now Carly is heartbroken on Twitter and saying some very concerning things that should be monitored closely.
Demi’s own fans are calling her out for her overreaction to a simple post telling her that her fans love her even if she makes mistakes. I don’t care if she’s feeling defensive, she could have simply ignored the post if she didn’t like it. She didn’t need to attack the people behind the hashtag. The person running that account and Carly are now feeling horrible as a result. Add on the fact that she’s been replying to other fans in equally terrible ways and blaming them for the fact that she’s going offline for a time.
dmetriaspickle: bb, we all feel sorry you’re feeling so bad, we just meant to make you see whatever was going on there, it was not our intention to make you feel bad about this, we all love you and just want you to be happy.
ddlovato: Oh don’t worry, you guys made me feel terrible about it, and prob qwill continue to do so. I’ll be hibernating
So I have another reason to hate her. Not just how rude she was to her own fans but because of how she loves her double standards. I can think of so many times where she criticized other celebrities for not being ‘educated enough’ on various topics and where she publicly dragged them for it, but when she’s in that same boat it’s a Poor Me, I Didn’t Know, Stop Being Mean To Me.
No. Her fans have been going to bat for her ungrateful ass all over stan Twitter. They tried educating her while tearing down anyone insulting her. I’ve seen nothing but them being supportive left, right, & center and this is how she treats them?
1.) Being a fan of someone doesn’t meant you can’t criticize questionable actions of theirs.
2.) Being a fan of someone doesn’t mean you can’t be offended by questionable actions of theirs.
3.) Anyone trying to tell you otherwise is a problem.
The fact that she did the ‘you caused this and will probably continue doing it so it’s you’re fault what happens from now on’ is wrong af. That’s the most concerning thing imo. That kind of manipulation tactic is a red flag. And now all these fans who were honestly concerned/offended by the things she was saying and doing unawares, are made to feel like if she has another breakdown, it’s gonna be their fault. Because when Demi gets in too big for her britches on social media, she ‘takes a break’. Everyone knows it.
It’s all about how their words affect her, but she won’t take account of how her words affect them. Because whether people want to admit it or not, Demi has the most power in this situation. She is the famous, wealthy, pop singer. She’s got some decent numbers in various ways on her side. And fact is, the fans who sided with her and thought the Palestinian fans were overreacting, are now attacking other Lovatics on her behalf because of her comments.
And her fans weren’t dragging her! Stan Twitter was collectively at the helm of this bs and the Lovatics were on the defense. Demi is taking her anger out on the wrong people and I hate it.
#i fucking hate this woman#you don't get to hide behind mental illness over and over again when you keep doing the same shit#mental illness isn't an excuse to be shitty to people

A Beginners Guild to the Middle East – A Reading List
I’ve worked in DC in Middle Eastern studies and study it in school. Whether it is the news or conversations at the dinner table, it endlessly frustrates me that people don’t even know basic information about the area and deem themselves. I have heard too many time that “oh the Israeli’s and Palestinians? They have been fighting for centuries and we just got to let them” or some shit like that. (No, they haven’t. Wikipedia could tell you this) I get it. Trying to understand the Modern Middle East is difficult. Our American systems have failed us on giving us a well-rounded view on the world.
Trying to understand it through the media and hearsay is like trying to understand the intricacy of the Game of Throne books by watching YouTube clips and reading Fanfiction.
So if y’all are interested, I have some recommended books for y’all. I can verify they are an excellent start to studying the region.
Disclaimer: This is by no means a complete list, nor are they perfect books. But it is good to get started with.
1. The Middle East by Ellen Lust
Why should even care about the 22 countries and how they are different? Well, because the truth is the Middle East isn’t just Israel, Iran, Egypt, and Turkey. Those countries actually tend to be the exceptions to the rules. So pick this up for some very valuable information, and you’ll be surprised to learn how similar and different the Middle East is (or even what that word means). This book is the best place to start. It gives a detailed overview of every single Middle Eastern country and it has a lot of valuable information.
2. James Gelvin – The Modern Middle East
Great history book and gives a good overview. Then its best to jump into specific issues.
3. Orientalism – Edward Said
“Orientalism: the representation of Asia, especially the Middle East, in a stereotyped way that is regarded as embodying a colonialist attitude”
This is a staple of Middle Eastern studies. Said is a little wordy, but he addresses some very important points that is important for Western audiences.
4. Excellent Daughters – Katherine Zopef
This book just came out, and I loved it. It is on women, an often poorly covered issue that either pretends women are only oppressed and have no original thought or focuses too much on Islamic feminism. It gives stories to a world that we sometimes only think of in bombings, and has this great human touch to it. Highly recommend.
5. The ISIS Apocalypse – William Mccants
Yes, the hot topic of this day. This is the most difficult book to chose, because there is so much shit because everyone wants his or her say on ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh (a derogatory term for the group). But frankly, most people have a spin and an agenda that is rather extreme. William McCants is a respected scholar on the Middle East He is a fellow at the Center for Middle East Policy and director of the Project on U.S. Relations with the Islamic World at the Brookings Institution. This should be your go to book on the topic.
6. The Middle East –Bernard Lewis
So Bernard Lewis was one of the first guys ever to write on the Middle East. Overall, he is a descent scholar, but a product of his time (a product of his time meaning colonialism), but his book is interesting and gives a history from ancient to modern times.
He and Edward Said (above) dislike each others work. I included both of them because diverse viewpoints are important. If you are interested in their exchange, which can get rather mean sometimes, just google their exchanges. They get rather biting.
7. The Rise and Fall of Arab President’s for Life – Roger Owen
This poor guy wrote a book on how Arab President’s like Gaddafi, Mubarak, and Assad are “President’s for Life”. The thing is, he finished this book in December 2010, a month before the Arab Spring protests. But it still provides an interesting look into these political systems, which are still relevant after the Arab Spring.
8. The Israel-Palestine Conflict – James Gelvin
I hate to focus on Israel/Palestine, but it comes up in American discourse so much, I thought information was needed. Gelvin has two books on this list, and that is for a reason.
9. Israel – Anita Shapira
This is truly one of the most well-written books I have ever read. It is a detailed history of the founding of Israel to present day, and it covers everything from political to social to cultural. Like all books that deal with Israel, it has a bias – it tilts slightly in to Israeli side, but it is slight, and the scholarly work so great, history so on point, that it is well worth the read.
You cannot understand the present without the past, or frankly, without the correct information. There is so much disinformation in the world, with politicians and the news, but good research on the behalf of the individual can cause so much change. So I can tell you: the region is complicated, but wonderful and rewarding.
TLDR; Middle East is confusing and there is too much misinformation out there. Here is some quality lit to help understand it. Feel free to message me with questions/comments/discussion points. I love talking about this stuff.

Making the world safer for the Jewish community is NOT hindered by questioning real estates hosting advertisements for homes in illegal settlement areas of the West Bank!
It IS hindered by people protesting loudly outside of synagogues that rent space to companies holding real estate fairs that turn out to have three properties in the West Bank!
It IS hindered by people protesting loudly outside of synagogues that rent space for fairs that DO NOT have properties in the West Bank at all, but which they assume do because they didn't notice there were different real estate fairs run by completely different companies!
It IS hindered by people constantly confusing Zionism with far-right Kahanism, the actual ideology of the settler movement, and (because they have decided ahead of time that anyone who disagrees with them is a far-right settler-colonialist "genocidaire") arbitrarily silencing and shunning any Jew who disagrees with them about that!
I literally saw a video of a Toronto protest, which I think was one of the real estate fair protests, in which people were chanting "Kill the Jews" in Arabic. I don't think there's any chance of getting people to not join in on chants they don't know the meaning to. I'm maybe being optimistic by thinking they don't know they meaning.
A Jewish guy in NYC was stabbed today by a man who yelled "Free Palestine!" He's going to recover.
I just think maybe people need to take about three steps back and really think about where some of this shit is taking them.
Also, NONE of these places have properties in Gaza for sale, which is what you originally said. There was one (1) far-right real estate company that trolled people by pretending to be offering beachfront property in Gaza, and got the tons of attention it wanted. That's it.
People find it extremely easy to believe the worst of Jews. And they find it very difficult to believe anything negative about Palestinians, who they've come to identify with as a sort of faceless Symbol of The Oppressed.
And the thing is, NOBODY SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT GROUPS IN THIS WAY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Far-right dictatorial control freaks are far-right dictatorial control freaks, whether they're the settler movement or Hamas or the Christian Nationalists. Some of them are more violent or have more power, some of them like their violence in the form of legislating people's rights away, some like to experiment. That's about all.
Palestinians are not Hamas. They get screwed by Hamas.
Israelis, or Zionists, or The Bad Jews, are not Ben-Gvir or Netanyahu or the settler movement. They get screwed by those people.
Jews do not deserve to be placed in the position of "are you a Zionist or are you one of the Good Jews?" Which has been happening for years.
Jews especially do not deserve to watch their people get brutally massacred -- bodily mutilated and deliberately burned to death at temperatures so high that even their bones turned to ash sometimes -- by a group whose stated mission is to violently destroy Israel because Jews are The Enemy -- and then spend month after month being told no, Hamas didn't do any of that. Probably the evil IDF killed its own people. Definitely there was no sexual violence.
Definitely it wasn't because you're Jewish, it's because you're evil/Zionist/oppressors and thus deserved it. It wasn't YOU anyway, you're one of the good ones, AREN'T YOU?
(At this point, you're automatically not one of the Good Ones if you criticize Hamas, or its attack, or want the hostages returned. (Why do you people want Hamas's hostages, anyway? Must you take EVERYTHING from the Palestinians?))
And, all the while, having to watch people slide happily into antisemitic tropes, into "you're the real Nazis" and "Jewish/Israeli/Zionist money controls Congress/the media/elections," and on and on.
Most of all, we don't deserve the deep-seated knowledge that our peers cheered for Hamas because "there are no civilians in settler-colonialism."
And that if someone convinced them we were Zionists, and therefore "complicit in genocide," and we got massacred in a giant terrorist attack, they would cheer for that too.
I think this is the most terrifying post I’ve seen today. So far.
#gotta be honest i'm not sure if these thoughts all connect or if i just went off#because it's almost 4 fucking am and all of the still-ongoing rape denial and darvo and “it's just anti-zionism” i've been living thru#for ten months#is really fucking me up all the time
