callum and phonegingi are paralells in so many ways it makes me sick

callum loved HUMANITY as in the whole human race. he wanted the Best for the people , not just america , but the whole WORLD to be reinvented, "giving fellow mankind an upgrade", etc. some of the things he did to Get this upgrade are Questionable at best and morally reprehensible at worst! but in his mind the ends justify the means

he considers himself very human despite being probably more than half mechanics at the end of his run (given he modified his body itself too, to keep himself chugging so long and being healthy at the ripe ol' age of 99). considers himself as a MAN of the people. becoming the model for the whole human race rather than being the outlier

gingi, however, BARELY counts as a "human". the.. well the everything about them. Do i NEED to explain?? its so outwordly pleased about being a beastly thing and freak of nature

nobody looks at it and goes "YUP thats a man! normal guy there!" and rather see it as a Thing, which was a big part of why mingus was able to banish gingi from dialtown without any complaints. its not one of US, not a person

but despite it all gingi is full of HUMANITY. humaneness. despite it all, they are able to genuinely care for others and change their life for the better over and over. the ending even states norm (the "most" human, still having a Face and whatnot) wouldnt be alive without gingi. even if the characters cant relate to their appearance or actions or lifestyle , they are able to make such a personal and intimate connection with gingi.

because what makes you human if not being able to connect with other human beings? Which gingi AND callum both were GREAT at but in such opposite ends of the spectrum

𝙃𝙊𝙆𝘼𝙂𝙀 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙄𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙄𝙎𝙉'�� 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙒𝙀𝘼𝙆. nose buried in a book naruto was sure his brain was going to implode at any second. after hours of reading with hardly any breaks he'd been exhausted. luckily sasuke was gone on a mission. the uchiha wasn't here to berate him for staying up too late or not taking breaks. but even naruto has his limits. when sasuke walks into the apartment it's quiet, which is unlike naruto. normally when he came home from being gone naruto was on him instantly, checking him over and asking how the mission had went. once in the living room the story is painted clear for sasuke.

books and papers litter the coffee table and the floor. naruto is spread across the couch, head on a makeshift pillow ( his own jacket crumbled up into a ball ). the couch dips where sasuke sits near him and naruto stirs just a little, his hand moving across the couch to reach for someone, anyone it seems. but lips part and the words are so soft you'd almost miss them. ❛ sasuke . . . ? ❜

it's then a hand laces his and naruto's concerned expression relaxes. almost instantly he's able to calm down and fall back into a deep sleep. a light snore fills the living room, hand squeezing sasuke's. now he'd be able to sleep peacefully. too bad he'd be in for a scolding when he wakes up.

Chuuya staying on the call for an hour, just listening to Dazai chatter with his coworkers or whoever he's with, musing about how comfortable he sounds, and not hanging up until Dazai realizes is just so...

Dazai buttdialing Chuuya because he never got around to deleting Chuuya's number. Sometimes he'll be in the car with the others, and Chuuya actually picks up on the off-chance that Dazai meant to call him, and all Chuuya hears is just screaming he can't make out.

Chuuya's literally ??? the hell, man.

The next time Dazai has to get his phone out for something, he either sees that he's been on a call with Chuuya for almost an hour or that he already called Chuuya. His eyes widen, dread creeps up his spine, and he goes oh, crap.
