Please understand that there are cultural differences and language differences, if you see this happening let the person clarify what they meant, that person might just not be familiar with words the western side of the internet use

Now I get the chance to explore that world through Zuko #Kya won't be a recurring character. She's connected to her home and the Old Tribe so I don't think we'll be seeing much of her in the future #But we don't need to. She's a vision of home. A past you cannot return to. The spirits of loved ones who watch over you.#She makes an impact on the present through her connection with the past. And I think that's beautiful.

SO MANY PEOPLE GUESSED CORRECTLY!#It wasn't that hard #We know Papyrus knows the river person #are they friends? idk BUT I PERSONALLY THINK THEY ARE #I just LOVEEE looking at the dialogue and making connections #I referenced one of the lines from the river person here...sometimes they'll ask you if you know any game you can play with a dog...#They said they were “asking for a friend...”#And I couldn't help but think about Papyrus' problem with the annoying dog LMAO #+ Papyrus seems very excited to know if the river person is there when you call him nearby that area #Okay so... now ...some comic thing that I made up but also didn't...#“FLOWEY DOESN'T KNOW WHO THE RIVER PERSON IS?”#okay so...#I feel like #It's not very common for them to be there...#When talking with Undyne around that area it's kind of *unclear* if she knows about the river person being there....#She tells you about the river connecting different areas and that you should “jump in”#She then clarifies that's the only thing they got for public transport #AND LIKE? #principal skinner pride flag for my gay little dogs #you see this is why my dog people need to see the same spectrum of colors we do #I feel like their literal world view would be drastically altered if they couldn't distinquish between orange and green #I'd argue that red is a significant color in practically every culture #it's instinctual associations with danger food and fertility make it attention grabbing on a visceral monkey brain level #I strongly suspect the impact would be at least somewhat negated if it was a muted brownish khaki instead #meaning it wouldn't be used in visual communication nearly as much #I would have to center my art and worldbuilding more around yellow and blue because those would be the colors the dogs would see clearly #right? is that sound logic?#and that would just make me immensely sad because warm colors are my favorites :<#answered #m0notropa-uniflora #something that continues to boggle my mind is that there are animals that see more colors than humans #we like to assume that our color vision is the best we can see it ALL look at that rainbow there that's the full set #yes primates are well equipped in this regard compared to many other mammals like dogs #but most birds for example have more color receptors in their eyes they have more tools to work with and their rainbow is even wider #it's like sound everyone knows we can't hear sounds that are impossibly low or too high #and we can't process wavelengths of light that are too long (infrared) or too short (ultraviolet)#only what lands between those bookends (called the visible spectrum) reads to our human eyes as “light” and subsequently “color”#I hope I've understood this correctly I'm trying to say that there's a whole layer of vision we don't have the hardware to get access to #and that's just wild to me like we are fundamentally unable to imagine a new color that isn't already included in our built-in selection #but they're definitely there the unimaginable colors are in the room with you and a common pigeon can see them #uv dlc not available for your system

Everyone always just says “oh she’s asexual” and leaves it at that #her aromantic activism seems to just get ignored even with how much of it she’s done #when trying to find news sources talking about aromanticism for a research project about half of them were interviews #with Yasmin Benoit! she’s done so much work for the aromantic community #yet even in her Wikipedia article which describes her as an “asexual and aromantic activist” in the very first sentence #the section on her activism doesn’t include the words aromantic or aromanticism even ONCE.#like. yeah she does emphasize her asexuality a lot more than her aromanticism. but her aromantic activism should be acknowledged too

i think the reason why thunderbolts works so well is that the team is like 80% legacy heroes/ knock off avengers but they’re all old enough to remember when princess diana died

#don’t get me wrong I love my kid heroes #Kamala khan and Kate bishop my beloveds #but it’s actually quite fun to have a cast of characters grappling with carrying (or failing to carry) a legacy #but they can also like vote and stuff #rather than greatness being thrust upon them they’ve had to actively choose it #not like a kid ‘answers the call’ but a grown up going ‘god fucking dammit fine’#some in memory of loved ones (yelena/bucky)#others coming to terms with the fact they’ll never be the OG (John walker)#(I’d put red guardian with John too but he’s having too much fun to be burdened by it)#even Bob - he’s literally supposed to be a whole avengers team at once #but he’s also a grown man #a troubled dude in need of a support system but very much an adult #the only exception is ghost #but she’s still a grown woman trying to figure out where she fits but in a ‘30 something still flat sharing’ kind of way #in fact I’d argue the reason why she sticks out a bit in the cast is her character doesn’t quite have the same legacy to live up to #but she still has common ground as a fellow human experimentation/ childhood trauma survivor thing #idk there’s an interesting emotional maturity to the cast even when they’re bickering and quipping and feeling the big sad #tldr I like it when legacy hero’s are less starry eyed/teen angsty and more ‘okay okay I guess I’ll have to do it Jesus Christ’#brb gonna go have some thoughts about where mcu Sam Wilson fits in all this #mcu #thunderbolts #spoilers #actually not sure if Bucky remembers when lady di died technically but you get my point

ig another annoying thing about the 'this transcends language 😲😱' comments about the most obvious of cognates and literal english loanwords, is that it's another example of how native english speakers (and, by virtue of their population size, mostly USamericans) are the arbiters of what gets seen as 'universal' vs what's weird and foreign on the anglophone internet. cause to me as a dutch speaker, a lot of german compound words would '''transcend language''' - but the tweets that go viral about those kinds of words are about how they're silly little nonsense words to laugh at, can't be a real language, can you believe anyone speaks that!
