There was something so scary about waking up in a room you didn't recognize.

The light was blinding, and it just made your hangover headache ten times worse. You groaned, squinting as you slowly sat up from the unrecognizable bed.

Panicked, you looked around the room-it was trashed-with bottles of wine, and bed sheets scattered everywhere. In terror you looked down at yourself, letting out a sigh of relief at the sight of your clothes still on your body. That was a good sign.

Slowly you inched off the bed, and there you noticed there was someone else in the bed, face down, with his arms sprawled out. It was a man.

Carefully, you walked around the bed and squatted to take a look at who it was, the sight made your stomach churn, "Oscar?" you whispered to yourself.

What were you doing in Oscar Piastri's room of all places?

Omg, had he kidnapped you? You laughed to yourself. No, it was more likely that you kidnapped him.

Shaking your head you decided to exist, you'll have to figure this all out later. You stared at him for a small second before making your way to the room, accidentally crushing a piece of paper that lay on the ground.

You winced, turning to make sure the sound didnt wake Oscar up, it didn’t. With a sigh of relief, you tiptoed out of the room.

As you stumbled through the hotel hallway, you felt all kinds of dirty. Yes, you still had your clothes on, but that didnt necessarily mean you two didn’t do anything. Yikes. You just prayed that Charles hadn’t hear a whisper about this.

Thankfully, he was down in the dumps last night about his race results, so he chose to stay in. It was more than likely he didnt see anything.

Taking your hotel room key out of your bra (safe keeping) you turned the corner of the hotel, gasping in horror at who you saw pacing up and down your room door. Your brother, Charles.

His head snapped up at the sound of the gasp, his eyes red and swollen. He did not waste any time running over to you, his pupils were wild as he scanned you up and down multiple times, he was rambling in French, making your head spin by the sheer volume of his voice.

You shushed him, squinting, "Charles..calm down please."

He pulled you in a tight hug, "Calm down? How can I calm down! You disappeared and didnt answer your phone, and I have to find out throught Instagram that you got married!" What?

You pulled back from the hug, feeling the room spin, "What?" you whispered, although he didnt seem to hear you.

"And listen mon cœur, if you love him then it's okay. We're not mad—just, why didn't you tell us?" He looked down at you with a frown.

You shook your head violently, holding up a finger, "No no, Charles what are you talking about?"

His sadness quickly turned to confusion, "You got married?"

Your eyes went comically wide, "What!?" you yelled not caring about your volume.

Charles took a step back, "You disappeared all night and posted to social media about being married. You.. don't remember?"

"No Charles I don't fucking remember!" you shouted in horror, patting yourself down for your phone, just your luck, it wasn't on you. "Oh my god.." you groaned, shutting your eyes.

"What's wrong? You don't remember getting married to your secret boyfriend?"

You looked up at your brother blankly, "Charles, I don't have a secret boyfriend."

Charles titled his head, slowly speaking, "...Then who did you marry?"

You chose not to answer, deciding it would be best if he could put the puzzle pieces together himself.

He gasped after a second, "You got married to a stranger?! What is wrong with you?"

"I was drunk!" you threw your arms up in defense.

"Oh, you were drunk!" Charles asked ironically, "I get drunk all the time and I don't get married to random strangers!"

"You act like I wanted this to happen!" You two bickered, not noticing the awkward Australian slowly making his way towards you two.

"Well, you don't seem as freaked out as you should be!" Charles shouted.

"I'm still processing this!" you whined, stomping your feet, just then you two heard a cough. You swiveled around only to come face to face with Oscar, his pale cheeks lit with fire, "Oscar.." you smiled, nudging Charles.

Charles looked up at Oscar in confusion, giving him an unsure smile.

"Sorry to interrupt," Oscar rubbed the back of his neck, before presenting two items, your phone, and a piece of paper, it seemed to have been the paper you had stepped on earlier.

You gasped, taking the phone with a smile, but before you could thank him, Charles spoke up, "Why do you have her phone?" his voice was low, and no amusement was present.

You looked at Oscar with wide eyes, shaking your head slightly, Charles could not find out that you two had spent the night together, no way he would take that well.

Oscar swallowed thickly, blinking, before he could even mutter a word, the paper in his hands was ripped away. The panic was clear on his face, as he tried to reach for it, but to no avail.

You watched in confusion as Oscar clearly started to panic, you glanced back at your brother who was staring down at the piece of paper with never seen before anger.

"What is it?" you mumbled, looking down at his hands, it was a certificate, you slowly read it, dreadfulness morphing quickly.

This document certifies OSCAR JACK PIASTRI & Y/N LECLERC, were united in marriage in the LITTLE LAS VEGAS WEDDING CHAPEL.

Oh shit.

Charles glanced in between you and Oscar, whose mouth was pressed tightly.

"You took advantage of my sister?" Charles whispered, and Oscar's eyes widened along with yours.

"No, Charles—“ you tried, but Charles had already crumpled the marriage certificate and thrown it to the side.

"You took advantage of my sister?!" Charles yelled, and the next thing you knew, Charles was on top of Oscar, trying to land some punches.

Hihi!!! I'm about to start this game and it seemed like something you Could be interested in? Based off of the stuff you talk about here at least!!

It's this horror game (from my understanding it's yandere horror, though I'm going off limited about-to-play-it knowledge ofc so i dont know if all the details ive gotten are 100%) that came out recently called MiSide !!!

From what I know you're this guy that plays this cute mobile game everyday where I guess you look after this girl and theres little minigames and stuff, you complete little tasks like helping her cook, etc. and one day the girl in it says she wants you to join her? And you end up getting sucked into it and it turns out there's all these different versions of her across all the different versions of this game that have existed and there's one of them that's really crazy about you and keeps killing all the other versions of herself to get you to stay while YOU try to escape and get back to the real world.

I dunno. I wanted to share because it keeps making me think about twst and how that'd work with each character (not being sucked into twst specifically, but a game like the one above where it's just one of them over and over again in this itty bitty game world). I've been trying to Consider Options but really I just keep thinking about Jade </3 my terrible fish that gives me terrible terrible brain damage. I think he should pull you into a video game. It'd be SO sick. Yan!Jade who wants to share his little game world with you so so bad. falls over dramatically. Mera save me

AAAA OMG OMG!!! I’ve heard of this game!! It sounds so good,,, maybe it’s even giving some ddlc vibes with the yan game character who wants you to be with her forever. <3 aaaa imagining a concept like that with Jade. >:)

Maybe it’s like one of those quaint farming simulators,,, but this one is with fungi. <3 putting together and tending to a virtual terrarium alongside cute anime guy,, the botanist Jade!!! He’s always complimenting your terrarium and giving suggestions for improvement (or for the sake of mischief because he has a sneaky streak)!! Jade who admires the you beyond the screen. Not the player character, but the living, breathing you.

Yanking you into the game world so that you can be together forever, tending to gardens and fungi together, building terrariums. A happy, peaceful life and he’s so pleased because you share the same enthusiasm for these things!! You’re truly a perfect match.

It goes from comfy fungi simulator to terrifying otome, where one wrong move that threatens the romance he’s trying to build with you will cost you dearly. ^^;;;;

The Mythal defenders are basing their take that she wasn't a slaver but simply had willing worshippers on the Trials of the Gods codex. Have you read it? What's your take on it? I'm very confused as to what the devs were implying. That she had chosen ones who passed trials? Like her Sentinels? Those were still slaves even if they didn't think so.

my first thought is that this is a sermon. so its being given by someone not just sympathetic to mythal but someone religiously devoted to her and deliberately interested in currying favor and religious fervor for her among the people so already this is a biased source.

there is a clear attempt to draw a distinction between mythal and the evanuris in their keeping of "thralls" which makes sense considering the tensions we know would have existed between solas, mythal and the others by the time that the crossroads existed (where this is found). its interesting to me that they use the term "thrall" instead of "slavery", i usually associate thralls in fantasy settings with mind control/magical compulsion, who knows if that was the desired implication or not. but avoiding using "slavery" is interesting whether its the writers being afraid of the word in this game, or a deliberate rhetorical attempt by the speaker to convey something different.

"service willingly given" is sketchy to me LOL. i dont need to even elaborate on that because solas already did it for me when cole said "its not abuse if i ask" and solas replied "not always true." so if mythal is banking on the argument that servitude "willingly given" was better ("no longer willingly given" implying it used to be and that was preferable) while it's probably true that it is better when servitude is given willingly, it could still be unethical, abusive, and exploitative. the practice of indentured servitude has a long history in real life of being a result of economic and political inequality forcing people into horrible, unethical labor situations. "willingness" doesn't make it acceptable.

mythal's warning to me just seems to be her saying "stand up and have a mf backbone because thats what i like to see" which fits her but doesn't necessarily exonerate her of any wrongdoing. the use of "wise" and "wisdom" is especially interesting because uhhhhhh solas. i wonder, considering what this would sound like if written in elven, this could be saying "do not merely follow wisdom into my service, by replicating his devotion to me, by following me anywhere as he did, by obeying my orders" etc. etc. but "seek to be wise like he was, that's why he's my favorite lapdog" which would be really interesting. who knows. anyway i dont think this automatically makes her a perfect person.

ok she scorns servility and unexamined divinity. i dont think this means "she doesn't have servants or slaves ever" it means she has distaste for blind idolatry and passivity. she respects wisdom, we already know this. it is all very consistent with what we know of her character and how she engages with rook in their convo, she will attack if you attempt to flatter her, but will approve if you challenge her on her treatment of solas. she respects someone who doesnt take shit. again all great stuff but doesnt mean she didnt participate in the horrors of empire.

and the final piece just emphasizes her desire to be understood. embody her virtues and the things she expects; wisdom, justice, retribution, benevolence, having a mf backbone, etc. interpreting this is also difficult because we dont know exactly when this sermon was given, and the timeline of her corruption. i would imagine her willingness to do terrible things to amass power would have a direct correlation to her corruption from benevolence (who would not be willing to do such things) to retribution (who would be willing to go to great lengths for revenge). that is not just a corruption, but a change in her fundamental purpose as a spirit, from being benevolent to seeking retribution. thats HUGE! she could have been a completely different person, capable of completely different things. to me that implies a change in her moral compass far more drastic than that of wisdom->pride. benevolence is inherent to doing no harm. retribution does not care, it has a goal. she could have been unrecognizable in her methods and behavior. ohhhghhghghg its so juicy. anyway.

"know her regrets" is... interesting. i actually really enjoy this bit in the context of that "memories of a duet" codex which speaks to a similar desire of hers to be understood, away from prying eyes and divinity, and how seeing each others true selves was fundamental to her and solas's relationship. that "no greater offering to understand" is very relevant to solas as well and the players choice to understand him as a man rather than a god. see this is why mythal is wonderful because she is so interesting and she is at once both a crazy power hungry war monger and also clearly there was some part of her who just wanted to be understood. this is how complex characters work. it doesnt mean she didnt do god awful things and exploit people.

honestly i dont think the semantics of mythal's opinion on slavery is really that important or relevant. we know she participated in it to SOME extent. we know what she did to the titans. we know what she did to solas. like we do not need to know whether or not she "owned slaves" to understand the lengths to which she is willing to exploit people to amass power. again i dont even think much of what i wrote above is relevant at all because once again i am bringing it back to that good old pookie quote which is really all we need here:

cole: it's not abuse if i ask. solas: not always true.

in conclusion it seems to me the only purpose this argument serves is to stir up fandom discourse on a topic that deserves to be treated with more respect than as fodder for ship wars. we should pick something else to argue about whether or not mythal did. like did she ever feel the touch of another woma- *gunshot*

i've felt iffy about only three choices (all from inquisituon, most from a dlc) carrying over since it was released but hearing someone who got to play the game say "the appearances of certain returning characters are going to feel pretty hollow now knowing that they don't know their own past" which. yeah i knew that but worded like that it hurts a lot. we have a morrigan who doesn't know anything about the warden. who may or may not be under flemeth's control. morrigan who cannot mention her potential son.

i was rereading the story dialog for the sephirah while ago (upper layer so far considering i have a doc to contain all of my ramblings and thoughts once looking it over and getting actual lines to be able to know exactly what was said to base my feelings off of rather than the pure unfiltered pain or i suppose somewhat shock at first and those garbled memories of what happened) and after reading tiphereth's and then going to netzach's again it's just.

imagine you have to see what is deemed your other half, the person keeping you sane, your only companion you actually love and like, your literal ‘twin’ have to get crushed but some bum that never does his job and can easily be seen as 'not meeting standards' does get the same treatment at all when your own brother had been destroyed for less like spiraling into some dangerous stains of thoughts (thought be fair he did end up not as respondent and at that point already had what i'll inadequately describe as 'memory leakage' . But from the general idea of the side of tiphereth). he'll be more better than that drug addict ever will be in her eyes, someone who can't even do a report on time and even then is half assed to where at that point they'd just do it themself in the first place. he'll be way better, someone who is quite literally her family. yet why is her brother the only one that needs to suffer through that constant degradation of the soul? the constant wiping of the self? the memories made and lost? why the hell is someone that should deserve it in her eyes, someone so unmotivated and lazy, someone who she deems as a person not able to do a single thing right, not having that happen to them? why is it the person she loves so dearly, so close to her that she wishes would've stayed instead of some now hollow husk and imitation of imprinted memories when that hasn't happened to Any One Else? why does she have to go through all of that, having to see someone that she used to know and adore turn into a hollow husk and imitation of what once was - having to feel as if shes already looking at a walking corpse with memories shoved inside - just for someone like Netzach to not end up crushed to pieces.

Violet is upset because someone she defended against her found family of 8 years let her get taken by brainwashing adults for 2 seconds and everyone flips their lid.

But Kenny refuses to stop a train, and gets into a whole fight with Lee over it (AND REFUSES TO HELP YOU FIND A LOST LITTLE GIRL WHILE YOU’RE FIGHTING OFF AN INFECTION, where as Violet always defends you in Episode 1 regardless of whether you ignored and/or antagonized her or not), and gets mad at an 11 year old for not being able to handle helping someone in labor by herself and everybody’s like “Nah it’s okay, his family died years ago so he gets to do whatever he wants.” as if Violet didn’t witness one of the only consistent family members in her life die in front of her 💀

There’s so many comparisons I could make and one day I’ll make a Venn Diagram about all of their similarities but for now I’m glad someone pointed this out.

there are some things kenny does that have No excuse (like refusing to help bitten lee look for missing clem all because hes mad you didnt side with him enough. leaving lee to singlehandedly save himself in the pharmacy because he got scared. threatening to slap clem for blaming herself for lees death. off the top of my head). but his behavior on the train is annoying yet understandable. he doesnt want to admit his son is dying and he feels like duck dying in the first place is his fault for not saving shawn. you can convince him to stop without things getting physical

the Problem comes in when people can understand and sympathize with kennys annoying/shitty actions, but when it comes to violet (who has the same "my family is dead and its made me bitter and closed off" backstory (and her whole arc is about learning to love and care again)), suddenly all understanding goes out the window. even tho shes not even a FRACTION as annoying and shitty as kenny can get 😭😭

violet is mean to clem for the One scene where youre introduced to her (ignoring your first moment with her in the courtyard where shes smiling at clem so you already know her shitty attitude later is a lie. louis even defends her. wingman lol. and depending on what you say in response to her you can Immediately see the regret on her face LOL). but before the scene even Ends shes complimenting clem and clem loves it. then youre forced to talk to her and tenn about the twins, you have a nice card game where you can joke around with her, then she shows up at the dorm and they have a nice heart to heart about how theyre BOTH struggling with the loss of people theyve loved, and they can sympathize about both being harsher than they intend (THEY GET EACH OTHER CANONICALLY)

and vi not being "a people person" is a huge part of her arc?? she doesnt like that shes like this 😭 but shes also better with people than she gives herself credit for and its why she makes a good leader. (and even if you pick the "came off strong" option clem is OBVIOUSLY teasing about it but vi cant tell and gets defensive ("its not like im trying to be bffs or whatever. sorry" is so "you want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid" of her)

and then after this shes never mean to clem again?? And what if I said Betty is gonna try to hold Simon captive in whatever world or dimension she is in and is refusing to let him go even thought Fionna's world is actively dying. She doesn't want Simon to get hurt to hurt himself and even if he finds a better, not ice king way, she still won't let him cause in her eyes they can finally be together forever like this. Her whole speech or plea for him just for Simon to like look at her straight in the eyes and say some shit like.

"I don't want to live without you but I have to."

And with the look he gives her, she finally gets it even if it breaks her heart to accept that even if they were meant to be they were never meant to be always.

the last unicorn post from earlier has me thinking about the master. that yana is still in there, you know? is still someone he was, if even for a brief flash across the life of a time lord. there’s no way to unlive that life. there are ways to twist it later, sure, to make utopia into hell on earth. but the life was lived. in much the same way that the doctor can remember, can feel, the love he held onto as john smith even as that life is ripped out of his hands. the doctor choose denial and then grief and then to shutter it all away. and so john smith died, and so professor yana died, and the doctor and the master live on. the doctor has done this before, and he lives in orbit around humanity, trying to keep the best parts of them and hold them deep enough to take root (which he can pretend he gets to choose, as a time lord. as a human, it all floods in and can’t be dug back out.) but what about the master, right?

to borrow a turn of phrase: i think there are two time lords left in the universe, and they both learned how to regret.
