hi all! i know that i haven’t posted for a while, but since the end of the year is fast approaching, i thought i’d make a post detailing my appreciation for my lovely mutuals . (if you saw this post earlier because tumblr was being a bitch, no you didn’t <3333)

i’ve always thought that spencer has a mean side. and i don’t mean that as in classic degradation but as you said condescension. i think in the dybmn universe he’s been holding himself in check a lot, much more than we realize, because he doesn’t wanna overwhelm the reader or accidentally make her feel bad about herself because he knows she’s still fragile at this point. but it definitely sneaks into the way he speaks to her sometimes, like as you said in part one, and it’s definitely pretty clear in his thoughts in part three. and it’s like this weird dissonant motivation where on the one hand he wants her to know it’s okay to not think so fucking hard all the time and to just let him take care of her and on the other he genuinely wants to cultivate her ability to stand up for herself during sex and tell him what she wants. like when he says he wants her words he really wants her words, he wants to make sure she’s engaged and present and she doesn’t have to be eloquent but he does expect a response of some sort.

and then some of it is just because he likes seeing how desperate she gets for him like….. use your words or ask for what you want or whatever are all said with the same unspoken messages which are you’re a grown up so act like it or remember how smart you were five minutes ago or it’s so cute when i let you talk back to me and we pretend like i can’t fix your attitude the second i decide im sick of it

like he just really gets off on the implicit control he has over her, not because he has to forcibly take it but because she hands it to him and she trusts him with it and he LOVES being trusted, he wants to make sure she knows he’ll never break her trust and he’ll always take care of her even if he’s sometimes a little mean😁 he just loves reader BAD

so i’m actually completely fine with it if you don’t find nate compelling but since you bring him up, i will start with him. 

the thing about fortnite gamergirl nathan mackinnon is that he is like. very talented and reasonably conventionally attractive and also soooooooo cringefail. he’s the league mvp and a stanley cup champion and he has a gorgeous fiancée and he’s rich and he’s smashing through joe sakic’s franchise records left and right.... and he’s succchhhhhh a loser (affectionate). he’s uncomfortable all the time. he doesn’t know how to act. he’s pretty private but also he’ll just Say Things that are way too personal with the exact same tone he’d use to. i dunno. tell you what brand of sneakers he wears. he’ll also reveal things about the most private man in sports, squidney crocsby, that are way too personal—and sid apparently is fine with this because he continues to be boybestfriends and next door neighbors with the guy.

everyone thinks he is soooooo serious alllll the time (in spite of the fact that he is goofy and silly when he’s out with the boys) but it’s just a combination of a) his face just looks like that b) he’s just intense in general. he’s equally unchill about how much he fucking loves the boys and how much he loves his tiny dog. and c) mostly we see him when he is at his fucking job? and when he’s at work it’s All Business. don’t make him do dumb social media shit or ask him stupid questions about whether or not he thinks preseason is too long, he’s! busy! come back when it’s puppy day.

It's sooooo so so so vile to me that most every relationship I've had as a transfem—before and after coming out, mind you—I have been the designated top/dom, and I have noticed that this seems to be the experience of nearly every transfem i talk to. seokjin reads like quality time. i think he wants to go about his day, doing whatever (nothing flashy, just cooking, gaming, fishing, etc.) with you physically present with him, even if you don’t exchange many words in the process. he wants to be present, and he wants you present too 😭 bonus: acts of service. his line isn’t “hyung will do it” for no reason!! he wants to 💕 nurture 💕 and ✨ nest ✨.

yoongi is acts of service, for sure. he doesn’t necessarily vibe with expressing love in words, so he’ll show it. and fuck, does he ever??? thoughtful gestures without any expectation of reciprocation, or wanting to be told thank you. the boy wants to take care of you, okay??? let him 😩 he feels full just watching you eat 🫠

hoseok is physical touch, i think. very affectionate, wants to feel tethered and safe. you can go out and do literally anything, he’s down, just make sure to (at least) keep your pinkies locked. oh, and he is ABSOLUTELY the type to put his hand in your back pocket. not even flirtatiously (although, let’s be real, it often is) but because that 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 closeness. he’s either sitting under or on you — who needs their own couch cushion? not him!!

jimin is quality time. he’s somebody that shows up for people, without fail, and that’s how you know he loves you. and that’s not just attending xyz thing that matters to you, it’s remembering the little shit you say in passing and taking it to heart, and not forgetting things that matter. dude wants a whole ass partnership based on this, i know it. bonus: words of affirmation. he’s also extreeeeemely well-spoken and emotionally intelligent, so he loves deep, deep talks about… everything.

taehyung is receiving gifts. not material stuff, though he is a certified fashion heux. dude dies when you present him with some lil trinket that you give to him and say it reminded you of him, of some lil memory that he might assume you’d forgotten because it was so quick/ordinary, whatever. and i bet he cries when you tell him why you’ve given him xyz item, even if it’s just a cool rock you found that you wanted to show him asdfghjkl. he absolutely shows love this way, on top of physical touch.

jungkook is ABSOLUTELY quality time. he wants so badly for you to be there when he’s sleeping so he doesn’t have to sleep alone, even if you’re awake. somebody to keep him company when he’s up too late, or doing mundane tasks around the house. bby girl gets lonely easily, i think. you don’t have to talk, just be there.

-est's are sooooo hard for me, and i'm so indecisive, and there's so many art styles...so i picked these four lmao. i have so many pretty covers okay, i tried.

this picture does not do it justice, but the red hood issue is foiled and i just love it. foil is fun in general, but i feel like it makes the blood more...bloody? wow i'm so eloquent. IT'S COOL IMO OKAY. not that this is shocking to anyone, but i am v obsessed with pink...the batman cover is pink. but also!! bruce is smiling. and the motion of the cape feels so lush. it just makes me happy. um. so. the tim cover. listen. the color palette is pretty, i love the early dawn + his bright colors. also. he's pretty. NEXT. i adore this nightwing cover. it's so soft, like it kinda looks like it was done with, crap idk my art mediums, oil pastels? the texture is so smooth. plus, i love like the scene and all the details, like it's just so satisfying.

i'm realizing i may have defined 'prettiest' strangely. oh well.

first!! ROBIN!DICK AN ROBIN!TIM ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! with jason-haunting-the-narrative angst?! to die for. then we have tim being robin to dick's batman, so fun, with a healthy serving of bruce and dick angst and they actually communicate a bit. so frickin good. i've talked before about how much i love love love #46, and that has not changed- i revisted it recently and *oh my godddddd*. tim struggling with robin vs. tim drake, and then utterly failing despite his best efforts when he was already questioning if he even makes a difference? fuck yes. sorry. and then!! super-depressed!timbo talking a would-be jumper into not jumping and then calling dick? words cannot express the sheer !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i feel about these issues. this is me trying to be normal about them, that's how bad it is. as with the previous answer to 12, i have pages of these comics eternally memorized.

Red Hood: The Hill

allow me to explain my comic buying method. first of all, i try to buy only comics i've read + liked, unless i like the cover or it's a current release. so this is a little bit recency bias, but also current stuff is pretty much the only thing i'll be buying blind for the story itself.

i picked up this mini bc it was marketed as a jason run. HA. you could completely cut him from the story and like. so little would change. his only relevance was marketing. the story itself was also like, super boring to me, but in the spirit of fairness + acknowledging bias, i was enticed by a jason story and not given one. so. if i'd come to the run expecting an oc + batman i might've had a very different experience.

if this had been out on dcui, i would not have picked this run up. maybe the dan mora covers if i saw them when digging through boxes. but purely for the covers.

17. comic you picked up just for the cover art

Batman (2016) #50, Nightwing #81, Task Force Z #8, Robins #3

have not read the issue yet, bc i have not kicked off my Big Batman Read Through, but i am fairly certain it will upset me when i get to it lmao. i have a soft spot for sketch covers, i think they're so neat. plus this one is so evocative. technically, the nightwing cover may not count bc i'm sort of collecting all of nightwing, but at the time i bought it purely for the cover. the graffiti is fun, dick + tim + milkshakes = cute!! i enjoyed task force z, but not enough to buy the run, however when i saw this cover i had to get it. idk how to express it but the composition tickles my brain in the best way. ugh so cool. MARCUS TO TIM?!?!?! HELLO?! WHAT MORE NEED I SAY?!

brief story time, so i picked this up fairly early on into my comics collecting when i was really trying to be very, very selective. i think i maybe was looking specifically for #17, where bruce is back and tim gets a hug, and the vendor had that one + a bunch of others and i was geeking out a little bit showing diff panels to my spouse and they were like, "so we're getting them all, cool." "no, it's fine-" "dude. your whole face is so lit up right now." i lost (won?) that argument. it is still so mind-blowing to me how supportive they are of the things that bring me joy. completely antithetical to my upbringing. anyways!! so yeah, this is also the run that spurred me to collect the way i do today. i tried to be more restrained. i was ✨enabled✨

There was something different about Solas recently. He seemed agitated, and although he was as polite as ever, there was a frosty edge to it. It felt artificial, forced. It was strange, and Atros didn’t know what to make of it.

Solas had been angry at him a few times. He did not curtail that anger, nor hide it in this way, so he did not believe the mood had anything to do with him, but that only made it more confusing. But he was not the type to press and pry, either. And even if he did, and even if Solas answered, what then? Was he supposed to offer words of comfort, or some sound advice? Ridiculous.

He was the one who needed advice, usually. Not that he took it, but still. So he didn’t know how to navigate this. Didn’t even know if he should try.

But then a day came when they were snowed in at Skyhold. It had been storming for a solid week, and although those who read the skies said that fairer weather was coming, it felt to him like they would be trapped in this keep forever. He spent much of the time in his room, sometimes training in the courtyard, although the fact that he had to wear extra layers even in the shelter of the stone walls made training difficult.

So he was back in his too-big room, the fire only taking the edge off of the bitter cold, furniture that traveled often now pushed up against the wide windows and doors that led to the balconies. This room design was fucking ridiculous. The top of a tower in the snowy mountains, and half the walls were glass? He’d done all he could to insulate the room during this cold snap but he still sat nearer the fire than not, with a blanket draped over his shoulders.

So he really wasn’t happy about the knock at the door, jumping a little as his gaze snapped to the open space at the top of the stairs. Usually he had the desk or couch wedged in there, but now they were busy trying to keep the room liveable. He did his best to push both the fear and rush of accompanying nausea away, the latter reminding him that he hadn’t eaten much today.

Still, there was no avoiding this. So he stood, letting the blanket fall to the ground where he’d been sitting, and made his way quickly down the short flight of stairs. It was probably one of the advisors, or perhaps someone bringing him a meal; he grimaced at the thought, hating having people wait on him. Still, if that was the case, he knew better than most that it wasn’t their fault, so he did his best to school his expression into something more passive before he opened the door, blinking to find Solas standing there.

Well. This was a surprise.

“Uh,” he said. Eloquent as ever. Solas’ lip twitched before he pushed inside, Atros shifting to let him pass without a protest, more confused by him showing up than annoyed.

“It seems neither of us does well in captivity, Inquisitor,” Solas said at the top of the steps, looking out into the room. But if he was noticing the stacked furniture against the windows, he gave no sign of it. As Atros came up the steps, he thought that Solas looked distant, as if he was seeing something else entirely.

“No shit,” he muttered, and again Solas seemed about to grin before it faded, as if he was too distracted even for amusement. 

“I tried to avoid this,” he said, still facing away. It even sounded as if he was talking to himself, the words faint, almost torn apart on the constant whine of the wind outside. “I did. It is a weakness, and it is selfish, and I should not be pursuing this. I should not be distracting you. And yet…” He bit out a single, sharp, mirthless laugh, and only then did he turn to face Atros properly.

More than that.

In two long strides he closed the distance between them, reaching out and cupping his face. He drew his thumb across Atros’ cheek, an achingly tender movement at odds with the hint of mania in his eyes. The look was all too familiar, something Atros had seen in his own eyes in the mirror far too often. Solas needed to bury something tonight. Where Atros would find a drink, it seemed that the other man found him. It was… interesting.

He wasn’t sure if he was hurt or flattered or smug. Maybe a little of everything. But he did know that Solas had given him much, so when the other man barely breathed the words, Atros—for once—obeyed willingly.

“Kiss me,” he had said.

It was soft at first, for a moment, before it turned to teeth and tongues and need. A sharp, frantic spike, and suddenly Solas’ hands were tugging indiscriminately at his clothing. He was more than happy to return the favor, guiding them both to the blanket still laid out in front of the fire. He tried to sit on top of Solas but before he could settle Solas upended them both, slotting between Atros’ legs and grinding their cocks together, gasping wet against his mouth. So he met need with need, let Solas rut against him, driving them both to the edge in the simplest of ways. Flesh against flesh, no need for preparation, no need for anything but this, Solas’ hips moving fast and hard.

He grunted as he came across Atros’ stomach. Afterwards he began to shiver, but still his hand dropped to Atros’ cock, clearly unwilling to be the only one to finish. Strangely enough, he actually considered stopping Solas, telling him it was okay. He did want to come, of course, but there was something so odd about the other man tonight. And he didn’t like this shivering, even as he tried to convince himself it was nothing more than the cold air against bare skin.

Instead he let him work, arching and biting his lip as he spilled in the warm nest of Solas’ palm. And afterwards he pulled them together, his front to Solas’ back, and impatiently tugged the blanket across them both. And he waited in silence until Solas stopped shivering.

I wanna start with ZZ’s general aura and disposition during the wrap, and how happy he was. It’s really nice to see him be among a group of people that seems to dote on him and that he can be comfortable with. You can probably see some double standard talk going around, that yes, during CQL wrap, he was also happy — however, in the last day, there were moments that they both looked sad. Also the airport photos of GG next day where his eyes were swollen — from crying probably. Add one of the CPNs that they both cried when the filming ended inside their car. So yeah. As much as I see him happy, it brings me back to the bittersweet ending of CQL. I won’t add any video/photo evidence of this anymore because it’s a well-known fandom CPN.

I also just remembered how much of a jiejie collector XZ is. LOL. If WYB collects geges, then XZ collects jiejies. That’s what I noticed with his interactions towards his co-star. I think she’s another jiejie who is now doting on XZ. 😂😂😂😂

Moving on to the other CPN clues, starting with some usual fandom symbols that we see. I have also been thinking about this number because for XZS lantern festival game, they are giving away 23 desk calendars. so specific.

this imagery from the vlog compared to WYB’s single video is just so similar. the sunshine allowing plants to grown. whether that me be literal or metaphorical. how they view the world is so hopeful 🤍🤍🤍 and this is why they get along so well. there is really no way they wouldn’t be close, even if they didn’t end up playing WWX / LWJ. I believe that somehow, they would find their way to each other and still have the relationship we think they have. 🌱

svt: sooooo a few years ago i had a revelation that i wanted to be remembered as a kind person. i was looking at a post talking about jiang yanli from the untamed, and they talked about how she chose to be kind. and seokmin reminds me of that. seokmin is just so kind, despite him believing he isn't. he is kindhearted and gentle, and that's the sort of person i want to be. besides that, he is an amazing singer and performer. seeing him perform live just made me aware of this. he is just a beautiful person inside and out, and i strive to one day be like him. zb1: they're cutie pies what can i say! gyubin reminds me of seokmin, in a way. he is kindhearted and genuinely loves his members and his friends. he's also funny and cute, dedicated to his passions. gunwook is also really cute and funny and passionate. but he's also extremely clever and eloquent, and i admire that! andteam: oh god don't get me started. oh god the fuma brainrot is taking over -- okay so. he has worked so hard for his dreams for years. he's pursued them endlessly, wanting nothing more than to perform. he reminds me that it is never too late to do what you want, to follow your dreams. he is also so fucking selfless. whenever they take pictures of all nine of them he's always on the side so the other members can take center. he's one of the best dancers on the scene, his flexibility and gymnastic skills are amazing. he's also kindhearted and sweet, and his maturity, dependability, and love is so so refreshing adn lovely. ateez: jongho is absolutely amazingg!! his vocal talents are amazing. he comes off as mature, but he's clever and impish. i love how he's always searching to pull out the rug from his hyungs. and yeosang! i was watching ateez content and yeosang utterly charmed me!! he's so cute and sweet, and i love listening to him talk.
