it is coming together WONDERFULLY i must say - it is exactly the situation i wanted to both see and put judy in to experience (thank you so so much for your excitement as well AHHHH it means so much! <33333 i hope it is worth it when i start putting it out!) the 3-parter is where we finally see judy really having to handle a situation like this - all alone. she's in an unknown environment, an unknown place, and we really don't know how she'll react because she's never been in a situation like that before. especially having just jumped from a B-17 and then passed out for a period of time, wrestling the unknown, a head injury (that who knows what it is doing to her brain), while trying to survive, stay alive and figure out where the rest of the crew is (and if they're alive....if Rosie is alive). combatting all those feelings and emotions definitely makes it something hard for her because though judy has had a lot of struggles in her life, these are all fairly new and twisted in a whole different way.

and letting her combat and experience that to survive, the handle that human-condition and will to survive, is something i am enjoying writing a LOT! also because to me , judy's a cool character. younger, a bit more naive, quiet at times, but also one of the kindest people there, open-minded, and incredibly supportive and receptive to all. and someone who got on Rosie's radar real fast. that combined with the want to survive, the want to live, the want to get through this nightmare she's suddenly in (she wants to go to college, have a family, live a life!), it'll be interesting to see how she handles in when her life is at stake - and she knows she had a whole lot more to live for. had to put it aside for a bit, but i finally finished replaying an emulated copy of castlevania: curse of darkness :D

thought i'd be cute and try to grind to level 99 along with shooting for 100% completion of the maps, getting all the chairs and ID evolutions in one save file but its. really not worth it tbh. you're pretty much set for the rest of the game at about level 65 or thereabouts, innocent devils included

for a 2005 game i'm still really impressed with the depth and breadth of the ID system. combined with all the weapons and various finisher moves + chain combos, it never felt like a chore to take enemies down, even in the instances i could just blow past them. the fights are genuinely fun imo

kind of a shame that the game's massively let down by the lackluster level design...i think they had the right idea with those few parts where you needed an ID skill to progress, or even just a bit more platforming. if they ever (fingers crossed) remaster/remake this game, hoping that's something the game devs will address

started a new game with Trevor mode and i can already see this is going to be alot harder without the help of IDs lmao

In reference to your reblog about specialty stuff, I think you're one of the most successful whump authors I've come across in the TL fandom. You do a great job at holding the negative moments up to the light and not shying away. You still provide good comfort moments, but you don't rush to them. And you keep really good characterization throughout, which is hard when you're putting them in such different situations than we see on the show.
