This is going to sound negative, but I think Snuff deserves to be the last Discworld book. I mean, Raising Steam is good in certain ways, a fond elegy to the characters and plots a reader has come to know so well. I don't even object to the visceral pleasure of the earlier novels giving way to something diffuse, harder to pin down. (Unseen Academicals felt like this---a wonderful novel, but not actually a victory; just a plot that rearranged matters in an interesting way.) But there's a sort of...ill magic setting in, by the time you get to the scene where Vetinari gives medals to our wonderful shining heroes of the railway.
Namely, they're too good at this.
Vimes uses the Summoning Dark multiple times, and without even the terrified self-doubt he was showing in Snuff. (I have other issues with Snuff, but that was an interesting thread to pull.) Vetinari not-too-discretely points the Black Clerks at a problem, and it is solved; when necessary, he goes undercover working on something he personally considers vaguely distasteful, and yet becomes the center of a folk song. Moist neither sleeps, nor eats nor makes love to his wife (except sometimes, too rarely in his opinion) but rushes all over doing the railways' job for---what? for why?
They're too good, they've climbed too high; Vimes and Vetinari are edging into myth while still being alive, and Moist was already half of a song anyway, has been since he put on the golden suit.
I'm not saying it's not an interesting setup, because strangely it is. But it feels like the start of something, not closure at all, because what else is Discworld good for if not to tackle the fact that everything glowy and laden with awe will not remain such. Because, you know, that's how the world works.

Prompt 116
Give Battinson robins but it’s DCxDP style with ghosts.
His kids are… technically not from his world and technically not alive either, but that doesn’t stop him from adopting them. Even if he wasn’t aware of them being literal ghosts for the first few hours of encountering them.
How did they get here? Well, you see, sometimes child ghosts will run into each other, and they’ll form their own little friend groups. Or family groups. Especially if they lack a guardian. Who would tell them not to mess with natural portals.
Or to kidnap a phantom to play with them, but hey he’s enjoying himself too and has a puppy! The bestest boy!
Bruce was not prepared for some sort of energy-thing to open and spit out a good half a dozen children. Nor was he prepared for these children to all have powers, or for another child (thankfully a teen) to fall into the cave a few weeks later.

Alicent and Aegon are so Virgin Mary and Jesus coded, in a sick and twisted way that it barely makes sense, but at the same time just... does.
a mother and her child born damned from the start, yet she loved him to her core, accepting her fate, accepting she would lose him and then herself.
she carried him, birthed him, raised him, loved him, devoted her very being to him... she lost him, grieved him, lost her mind in his absence. the gods her only respite, yet, when she needed them most, when she needed them to protect her son, her baby, her reason for being, where were they?

There are two wolves inside of me.
The first despises Hallariel and refuses to give her another chance at being a parent when she puts in less than the bare minimum for the child she already has.
The other knows that Fabian would be a wonderful older brother and it would bring him untold amounts of joy and happiness.
Their battle will tear me apart.

I find it hilarious that no one is talking about how *Enid* is a Gomez. In love with life and everything in it, 150% passionate about everything. It makes sense she'll end up pulling a Morticia.

Papamin AU. Is Yuuji biological or adopted? And now that you've introduced Choso. Biological, adopted or just playground play? Ps, your art remains adorable and wholesome.
I dont have a strict canon i stick to in this AU, but most of my drawings I do with the intent that Yuuji is adopted, with Choso also following that logic. Overall I think Papamin is my way taking the “found family” trope and running away with it 🙂↕️🤚
