!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Ok we're at the final segment now (Azul's Dream):

Once reaching Azul's Dream, Jade proceeds to throw up on Floyd out of seasickness (Jade compares the dream hopping to flying lmao) and the game cuts it out too 😂. But anyways the tweels are surprised that the dream is taking place in Coral Sea, as they thought he preferred to stay in the land; but he may have conquered the sea in this one

The group looks around a bit more and find themselves in the middle of a game called "Coral Rush", it's similar to Magift in gameplay and also has school-level and professional teams. Idia immediately wants out because it's sports, and those who play are narcissistic machos AND THAT'S WHEN LEONA COMES UP WHILE HE SAYS THAT LIKE OKAY GAYASS MF????

That's when we spot Azul in the field, he's playing for Golden Tridents and he's actually good at the game and quite popular. Idia's just shocked because Azul??? Playing sports???? While Floyd just laughs and Jade grins. Azul's team does win the game and he has fangirls fighting over him and stuff.

Yuu gets shoved by one of his fangirls but Azul sees it and helps them up. The group takes this as a chance to talk to him so Jade pretends to be a fan by making Azul sign Idia in his tablet form 😭😭😭. Jade asks Azul if he recoginzes them and he says he does, from elementary, and then they do this secret handshake thing that even Idia and Jamil were weirded out with. When Azul asked what school does the twins go to, and when they mentioned NRC, he was surprised

But Azul has to leave now, howver he invites the group to the celebration party at his mother's restaurant "La Grotta". So now the group is theorizing on what to do, the Tweels think that Azul's dream managed to erase his past, in which his UM couldn't manifest because it came from the negative emotions he felt during that time. Grim was about to ask if they were referring to when Azul was chubby, but Yuu stopped him there

The tweels aren't happy about the fact that they have no choice but to make Azul remember those ainful memories. Idia also adds that Azul must have such an imagination to be able to change not only his past, but also his current environment; he also has a bad feeling about the whole thing

Now the group's in La Grotta, the restaurant owned by Azul's mother

The mermaids don't look too happy about the humans, but Azul reassures that tey are his guests; and it turns out that the humans have to wear the anemone in their head as it's part of the "dress code" in the restaurant. The tweels now think that something's up, and the mermaids are now interested in the human group due to their "ornament"

The mermaids asks the group if they can teach them any dances from the surface. Everyone refuses but Grim wanted to show off his dance skills from Vil during Chapter 5 and drags the other first years with him 😭

But because they're in water, they end up struggling and falling to the ground, causing the mermaids to laugh at them. That's when Azul reveals his true intentions, he just invited them to make fun of them. The tweels knew something was up from the get go, and that's when Floyd asks which side he and Jade falls on; and Azul said if they stay with him, they can join his team in Coral Rush. So the tweels pretend to be on his side, and wreck the restaurant in the process

Azul gets mad and pulls a Draco Malfoy of calling his dad, who's a lawyer, to sue them 😭😭😭. He also sends in guards in which the tweels defeat, Floyd then calls Azul lame while Jade calls him boring, that triggers the memories to come back to Azul. This causes the darkness to appear and take Azul deeper, his "team mates" try to help him but he gets swallowed in

Ortho yells at the Tweels to go and follow him, but they don't because apparently they have a rule where everyone looks out for themselves, so they assume he's fine. But then Yuu and Grim end up getting swallowed in the darkness that they had no choice but to jump in as well.

Everyone's in Octavinelle now, it's basically a "What happens if Octavinelle got its way" back in Book 3 where he managed to burn the photo and get Ramshackle. Azul also managed to get ahold of Riddle and Leona's UM and plans to take over the school. The tweels don't like what they're seeing and said they it'll get pretty boring if Azul just gets his way. Of course there's only one thing to do: Beat Azul's ass 💀

So now they're recounting the events of Book 3 and try to sneak into Azul's office to get rid of the contracts but surprisingly, all the contracts are gone. They think that Azul must have predicted something like this so he moved all the contracts to a safer spot. So they're coming up with a plan of having the twins pose as their fakes. For Floyd, he has Jamil and Ortho while the rest join Jade. Thus, the plan is set.

Jamil lures Dream! Floyd away by telling him that there's a basketball today, and the opponent's team has a player who's REALLY good. They go to the gym and Dream! Floyd proceeds to get ambushed by the real Floyd. Dream! Floyd becomes a shadow thus the fight commences, in which the real Floyd won.

Now we're going to Jade's team, so the idea was that Jade pretty much raids his stash of rare plants and have Yuu and Grim lure Dream! Jade with it. It surprisingly works, the real Jade wait in the forest and once the fake came in, had Silver and Sebek restrain him. Then Jade uses his UM on the fake to find out where the contracts are hidden

It was literally hidden under Azul's bed 💀, but only Azul can get the case to open . After convincing Ortho not to use his beam and kill everyone by accident, Floyd suggests a plan to have the real Azul open it. So they do just that, but the moment Azul found out the twins betrayed him, so he sends out his anemones to use as shields even Idia's dream self got involved in it

A fight begins, and Floyd gives Yuu the suitcase in the middle of it. When Azul used King's Roar, Floyd uses Bind of the Heart to redirect the magic to Yuu and have them throw the suitcase at it, dissolving the contracts once again. This causes Azul to have another meltdown, the darkness reappears and engulfs Azul, but Jade and Floyd come to his rescue. However, they had to let him go on Silver's orders because he has to face his inner demons alone. The twins wish him luck before they let him go

Azul meets his overblot self and feels sorry for how pathetic he is, the fight commences. He defeats the phantom and comes back to the very first dream where he was a star player. He tells everyone to celebrate by signing his contract and now they're stuck with it. He eliminates all the shadows before the rest of the group comes running in

Ortho shows Azul the video and now he's worried about Mostro Lounge's lost income and the food that's chilling in the freezer 😭. Ortho reassures him that nothing happened to the food cuz time is frozen, But Jade supplies it with "the customers are still sleeping tho". The twins and Jamil stay behind as Azul will now tag along with the rest to move onto the next dream

I didn't even know it was airing yet! Exactly TWO people on my dashboard have posted about it, and one only about voxval so I scrolled by thinking it was still fanon stuff. Mass Effect 2 replay, Samara’s loyalty mission:

Pax

-Garvung – A technically life bearing world that was given the krogan. The krogans adapted and thrived, eventually overfishing and polluting the world past it’s ability to support them. Then many left to find a new one. The Citadel Council took this as a lesson that the krogan can’t manage their population growth.

-They had hundreds of youngling per family.

Interesting number – in ME3, krogans can lay a thousand eggs per year. Ergo, there should have been thousands of younglings per family.

Most likely the thousand per yer is a retcon, but it could be taken to mean that out of a thousand eggs only a percentage were ever viable, or that the krogans used some form of birth control. Which then invites the question why they didn’t use more of it.

-The description says the “excess krogan took to the stars to find another planet to consume”.

That’s very loaded phrasing; it likens the krogan to locusts.

-The description also says “Garvug was treated as an object lesson by the Citadel Council -- the krogan could not be trusted to check their own numbers.”

This implies that prior to the rebellions the Citadel Council already considered the krogan reproduction rate a problem. How long was the genophage in development? Prior to the rebellions, perhaps?

Garvung was given to the krogans in 354 CE. The world was in decline by 400 CE. The rebellions started in 700 CE. What steps did the Council take between those periods to manage krogan growth?

The Council’s concern isn’t unreasonable; there are a limited number of garden worlds to go around, and they’re too precious too destroy. It’s not sustainable for the krogan to temporarily habitate a world, reproduce past it’s ability to support them, and move on to the next one. Ideally they should be able to maintain a sustainable population on a given world.

Obviously, however, an external control such as the genophage has its own problems. Presumably the Council tried other measures in the intermediate period to discourage such rapid reproduction.

-Quarians are vegan by necessity. Livestock are too resource intensive for them to maintain in the fleet.

Omega – Samara’s Loyalty Mission

-The daily death rate on Omega is too high for Edi to track an ardat-yakshi.

How many serial killers are active on Omega at any given time?

-Medics say Nef died of a brain hemorrhage.

Mmm. Outside of asari space it’s probably difficult to tell when an ardat-yakshi is active. Given the asari try to hide the existence of ardat-yakshi existence, most medical professionals probably wouldn’t recoginze the signs even if they noticed something was off. Of course they would assume a mundane answer.

A bit terrifying – the asari’s concern about their public image leaves everyone else more vulnerable. They don’t even know there are predators that can hunt them.

-If you don’t take the paragon interrupt to comfort Diana when she speaks about Nif’s room, Samara looks tired. How many times has she spoken to the loved ones of Morinth’s victims?

-Samara if you take the paragon interrupt: I know what it means to lose a daughter. I will avenge her.

Morinth has been dead to Samara for a long time.

How long? Since Morinth killed the first person she bonded with? Since she ran rather than go into seclusion?

For that matter, how many daughters has Samara lost? She could be referring to all of them.

-Nif’s diary tracks time in cycles and orbits. Nice touch.

-How does Samara have so much detail about what Morinth likes and how she hunts?

Well, she has been tracking her for 400 years. I suppose after long enough you recognize patterns.

-If you go paragon when speaking to Samara about Nif’s diary, Samara says ardat-yakshi have been around since the very early stages of asari development. They may be symbiotic, rather than a defect.

How would they be symbiotic? What benefits do ardat-yakshi bring to regular asari?

I’ve seen speculation that they may be a result of {rothean meddling. Something that went wrong, or a natural occurrence that was mutated to become more extreme.

I’d like to speak to Samara more on this, so of course it will never come up again.

-Shepard volunteers to meet Morinth on her hunting ground alone and unarmed to lure her out.

She’s placing a lot of faith and trust in Samara.

-In the VIP section, Shepard can dance so badly that an asari bails on her.

Nice method to include a running joke about Shepard’s dancing skills.

-If you go paragon with the turians planning to mug people to repay their debts it’s pretty weak. Shepard just gives them the money they need.

Shepard should be able to redirect them to a better means to make money or challenge them to a duel.

-Why are so many people in armor?

This is a club! Dress up or dress down, don’t dress for battle.

-There aren’t any salarians.

The obvious reason is that salarians are asexual, but that doesn’t hold up in my opinion. Just because they don’t want sex doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy drinking, dancing, or music.

-If you ask Morinth about Nef, she claims not to know her.

-If you’re boring enough, Morinth just bails on you by claiming that she’s getting drinks.

That’s actually petty funny.

-She also gets very short with you if you ask about justicars or family. Understandable.

-It’s possible to get through this conversation with blue paragon checks, but a struggle. They’re never the first choice available. You need to find what options to lead to them by trial or error.

-Morinth’s apartment is huge. I presume she has the money for it from all her victims.

-Investigating items in the apartment is just one red flag after another. Morinth keeps mentioning how she enjoys winning and killing people.

-If you go blue paragon, Morinth realizes you’re with Samara before Samara comes in. If she reacted a bit faster, she could kill you before Samara intervened.

-Samara does not want Morinth to call her mother.

Interesting, since she doesn’t hesitate to call Morinth her daughter. Does hearing Morinth call her mother make her conviction waiver? Or does it just bring too many negative emotions to the forefront?

-Samara: I just killed the bravest and smartest of my daughters.

Samara, I hope you never told the other two that. I doubt they’d appreciate learning that you consider them going into seclusion to protect everyone else as cowardice.

And is it cowardice for them to seclude themselves? If you know you’re a danger to everyone around you is remaining in seclusion by choice weak?

You can view it as taking the easy way out. Or you can view it the harder choice of denying themselves the pleasure of the world.

Admittedly, Falere and Rila did not make the initial decision themselves. But as far as we know, they never attempted to escape and if you don’t kill her Falere chooses to stay at the monastery. Hopefully Samara recognizes that as courageous.

Normandy

-Admiral Xen says that she’ll use the results of Rael’s research to reclaim the homeworld and a synthetic army.

The synthetic army is obviously the geth. The quarians potentially regaining control over them must have been an intended plot point for ME3 that was dropped.

Once again: ME2 provided plenty of plot hooks for ME3, ME3 just chose not to use any of them.

-Samara repeatedly states that she is free now that Morinth is dead.

Morinth was a millstone around her neck for the last several centuries. She was obliged to follow every lead on her. Now that she’s gone, Samara can choose what she does and where she goes.

Does feeling relief that Morinth is dead make Samara feel worse?

-Samara, about Morinth: She was the strongest and smartest. She would not accept the injustice through upon her. She fought until the end. I am so proud of her, Shepard.

Lots to unpack here. First, again Samara praises Morinth over her other daughters.

Did Samara always feel this way, or did it start only after Morinth fled? Is praising Morinth a coping mechanism for Samara? Yes, her daughter is doing terrible things but that proves she has these other admiral qualities.

Second, Samara acknowledges that isolating the ardat-yakshi is unfair. That won’t stop her from killing the ones that refuse, but she can still admit that the ask itself is unreasonable.

Apparently the code does not place a high value on fairness.

It also makes Samara implicitly putting down Falere and Rila going into seclusion willingly even shittier. Samara both knows it’s too much to ask of them and thinks less of them for doing it.

Painfully realistic. Samara respects those who she views as strong. She views Falere’s and Rila’s compliance as weak and judges them accordingly.

I bet they know it too.

-Morinth went on the run when she was 40. Samara says that is young; going by background chatter on Illium, asari seem to be adults at 50.

So Morinth went on the run roughly when she was a teenager.

I assume Morinth is the oldest daughter since she was the first one found as an ardat-yakshi. This means that Falere and Rila have been secluded since they small children.

I’m sure that was great for their development.

-When Shepard asks if Samara will settle down, Samara replies that she had already returned to the homeworld and tried to start a family. She’ll spend the rest of her life struggling and will not die in bed.

This exchange is very well done.

So i just got done avanue trick or treating so heres an attempt at drawing my costume :D

So i was gonna take photos of it but then i remembered my moms rule of dont post your face soo sorry about that, but heres a drawing of it instead :D, also i did have to wear a wig for this costume the reason why is cues i have short ginger hair and not long black hair, also instead of making a stuffed animal i just asked my mom to buy one for the costume, anyways uh imma just say some stuff that happend while avanue trick or treating, so today i thought it would be cooler outside, but instead it was very hot, which ya know would be fine if i wasnt wearing a heck ton of layers for the costume, so uh halfway through i just my mom if we could head back home cues i felt very sick, also i did miss a pokemon costume contest thing but like, no one even recoginzed me while walking around so eh, if i do decide to go later im not expecting anyone to know that im dressed as steven, but thats mainly it imma go relax now

The Game's Afoot! The Spirit Awards, Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes nominations have been announced, the Academy Awards shortlist for ten categories have been released.

While I am very happy for some of the nominations, I hate that some really good films seem to have little to no steam. Iceland's submission TOUCH was a very early favourite, but lost ground to KNEECAP and now KNEECAP is fading with I'M STILL HERE becoming the new International Film darling. But hope is still alive as all three were shortlisted.

And with even the starfxckers of the HPFA not recoginzing Michael Gracey's stunning Robbie Williams fantastical biopic BETTER MAN,

I worry that (outside of the technical categories) the film won't be recognized by the AMPAS. Thankfully the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) has given the film 11 nominations. I hope people don't get deterred by the device that Robbie is played as a monkey (with actor Jonno Davies giving a tour de force motion capture performance). The rationale behind the simian depitction? While interviewing Willams, he remarked on how he felt like a performing monkey and that stuck in Gracey's head. Gracey also said that people tend to feel more compassion for animals than other people, so by not showing Robbie as a human, people won't get hung up on notions that he's unrelatable due to his celebrity or judge him by his addictions. I think people need to see it for themselves beause BETTER MAN is spectacular on every level, truly; ridiculously so.

Beyond BETTER MAN, there are movies/performances I love and want to see win like CONCLAVE, TOUCH or KNEECAP for International Film, and Clarence Maclin for SING SING, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor for NICKEL BOYS, Adam Pearson for A DIFFERENT MAN and NOSFERATU for Sound Design; but the only film I have really felt truly passionate about this year is BETTER MAN.

A24's FYC Slate.

Happy that Sebastian Stan is being recognized for A DIFFERENT MAN (and THE APPRENTICE), but it is outrageous that his costar Adam Pearson isn't being talked about. He's sublime. Without his counter to Stan's character, there would be no movie.

And if Clarence Maclin doesn't get a nod for Best Supporting in SING SING, I'd be destroyed.

AMAZON/MGM's FYC SLATE

Amazon/MGM is really bullish on NICKEL BOYS and that cast have shaking hands and kissing babies since September. While not a terrible film it is a slog to get through and the fact that it is told in first person perspective, for me, felt like it tamped down on the storytelling. UNSTOPPABLE is a really good film, but nothing about it screams cinematic. It's just a solid inspirational true story sports film the same way Amazon/MGM's THE FIRE INSIDE is (with a strong performance from Ryan Destiny and an excellent one from Brian Tyree Henry) and the same way Disney's YOUNG WOMAN AND THE SEA is.

FOCUS FEATURES FYC SLATE

Very strong slate with CONCLAVE and TOUCH being the best of the bunch. PIECE BY PIECE is special because using Legos as stand-ins is 1) so him; and 2) vastly helps it from being a staid documentary.

And the real treat? Having all of the absolute bangers Pharrell has had a hand in lined up. People turned on him for "Happy" and "White Lines", and many have taken sides in the Pharrell Williams /Chad Hugo estrangement, but no one can *ever* say Pharrell isn't a musical genius.

NOSFERATU should get recognized for sound design, most definitely; maybe makeup/costume design. An excellent film, sure, but nothing (other than the technical aspects) stands out.

NETFLIX FYC'S SLATE

EMILIA PEREZ's rock opera aspects turns people off, people are criticizing Zoe Saldana for running in Supporting when many thinks she is a co-lead (therefore our first (only?) accusation of Category Frau this season; and actor Eugenio Derbez slagged off Selena Gomez's performance, but I loved it.

THE PIANO LESSON is fantastic! Director Malcolm Washington (son of Denzel and brother of John David, who stars in the film) really made August Wilson's play cinematic. Incredible performances all around and while Danielle Deadwyler is the name being bandied about the most (for very good reasons) Michael Potts and, amazingly, Ray Fisher, were the MVPs in my eyes.

PARAMOUNT's FYC SLATE

A QUIET PLACE DAY ONE is an also ran. They are not serious about that film. BETTER MAN should be the one they push; SEPTEMBER 5 (the telling of the 1972 Munich Olympics terrorist attack told from the ABC Sports news team)-another excellent film: riveting, timely, but this could have been on Paramount+.

An embarrassment of riches. SATURDAY NIGHT is atrocious and should have been a TV movie and HERE - a film about a house and its inhabitants through centuries - is sweet and poignant, but no stand out performances.

SUPER/MAN: THE CHRISTOPHER REEVE STORY is fantastic and I love that it not only focuses on him, but his wife Dana, as well. It's a very well-rounded, warts-and-all look at Reeves.Sadly, it did not make the Oscar's shortlist.

*When Rayman entered the room, he would find the Lum cowering in a hiding spot. When they saw him approach, the lum would fly to him and just began speaking quickly. They were panicked, crying for help over and over and saying that Raymona was in danger. It was hard to understand the poor thing.

*Ales was already up and about and would see the doors to Raymona's chambers open. He would go over to investigate and sees Rayman trying to converse with The Lum. He would approach and began to listen. Ales seems to understand the panicked cries.*

"There was a break in last night. Three women. They managed to kidnap Raymona. She was able to craft that lum before they carted her off. The Lum doesn't recoginze who did it, but this sounds like our little pests from the ball last night.

*The lum would then lead them over to the wardrobe. Ales would open it up and the lum motioned for them to dig through it. But i am thinkiing about thomasin trying to find her place during the epilogue. like. she can't fit into the human world anymore, but also, she doesn't quite fit into the demon realm

also, if you don't think that thomasin spent 5ever blaming herself for everything, u wrong. It probably took a while, but as she is finally able to settle into the grief process that has been put off for 300+ years, she would finally get to the regret and guilt stage. she would finally get to the point where she is blaming herself for caleb's death, for not noticing the signs of Philip's messed up thoughts earlier. She blames herself for introducing them to Evelyn. for taking evelyn's hand when she should have died with her mother. etc etc

She probably ends up being yanked by Darius back to reality, and he just full on tells her point blank to her face that none of it was her fault, she was a child. And by the time she was an adult, it was already too late. She literally isn't at fault.

She ends up befriending Raine, who then emphasis that the fault is of the culture they lived in that made Philip like that, the culture that made it so Tia was afraid to live and breathe.

Thomasin befriends Eda, who slams her hand on Thomasin's back, and tells her that she's the witch who survived, and that's something to be damn proud of.

Thomasin ends up finally revisiting the human world, where she ends up befriending Camilla, who helps teach Thomasin about the modern world. Luz helps find Thomasin's family--her father who survived, her mother's memorial, the family that still has traces of magic.

Thomasin ends up introducing herself to the family: the grandmother recoginzes Thomasin as the 'Tommy' in the family records almost instantly. The youngest and her don't look anything alike, yet at the same time they're alike in so many ways. Thomasin takes Yoki on as an apprentince, teaching her how to harnest the magic that she's been gifted. Yoki begins a new coven, and Thomasin becomes the head priestess.

Thomasin sits on the edge of the Wittebane statue, telling stories during Halloween. But it's not rare to find her there during other parts of the year, sitting on the statue base, simply talking to herself as though she's speaking to old friends. Other days she's silent. Some days she's not there at all.

As time goes on, Thomasin becomes a promonent part of Gravesfield; both in society and in history. Local rumor is that she comes to sit on the statue; and has been for far longer than some people have been alive. She comes and goes, but if you ask her for something, she'll have it the next time you see her. She's a witch, but no one says it in a hushed whisper like it's a secret you're not supposed to know. She's the leader of the local coven, but is willing to teach anyone about magic, if they wish to learn. She speaks about the statues like old friends, and she's even been known to give lectures at the local schools about the history of the town. Thomasin manages to find Evelyn's grave on the boiling isles, and manages to relocate her to be with the rest of their coven. She manages to help clean the messes that Philip left behind.

And despite being offered many times, Thomasin never accepts any roles of power, in neither the isles or gravesfield. She also never truly seems to settle down in either place, always moving between them, or moving around in general. When asked why, she offers a smile and says; "Only when the memories of my friends fade, and I can come to feel nothing but hatred for the young Wittebane, I will consider it. Until then, I do not deserve to be part of the people he hurt."

RT Intervals is focused on that lost identity, that lost memory of yourself even though you have a name, you have a form but you look back in your memories and you just can’t recoginze who that person is in your place of your memories

RPD!Universe is again, a complete mess but for c!ikari they’re written to be very hard to kill. 

so how do you kill someone that can just be escape over, and over or just straight up survive fatal shots easily?  you erase the person, not the body. that’s also a part of why c!ikari is like so fuckin deathly afriad of the remade world and c!eleven because at the VERY start when they were transferred over, c!eleven took thier memories. took what expereinces made them. For a moment, c!ikari was “dead”..and also the loss of control made them extra paranoid but we’re focusing on the memory aspect. probably doesnt help that c!ikari’s pre-RPD backstory is like. almost non-existant, and they actually suspect foul play since they can vaugely recall younger years but nothing actually important, like thier parents (if they HAD any, they’re not even sure) . jjust like this theme of memory and identity i guess

It also isn't showing up in my recent posts since I backdated it, even on mobile. Gotta love tumblr's inconsistencies. Hopefully that makes scam posts easier to recoginze on mobile though.

My peeps, do not spread or reblog fundraiser posts from blogs that have existed for 2 days. ESPECIALLY do not spread fundraisers by random people messaging you out of the blue to donate to them.

A lot of scam blogs will try to make themselves look legitimate by spam reblogging things to fill their blogs up, but they still only go back a few days. Others use backdating to change the date on the reblogged posts; turn on timestamps and look at the notes of the post to see when it was actually reblogged.

And for the love of god, use reverse image search.

Don't fall for scams or give them a bigger audience.
