What does Spice and Jack like to do together?
It's unbearably hot here and I hate working. One more ask, for realsies this time, because fuck everything else
"What do Kratos Burning Spice and Atreus Pepper Jack like to do together?" Sorry, I wanted to do that lol
Spice travels back and forth between the Golden Cheese Kingdom and the Spice Ridge by himself a lot (for work, basically), and he brings Jack with him whenever he can (after Paneer was born, he started either taking them both or alternating between them each time so they get an equal amounts of trips with him). He actually likes when his son joins him to do stuff, even if it's "boring" king/leader duties (which Jack does not find boring, he actually is legitimately interested in things like that and likes that his dad takes him to his "work")
They go on hunting trips often, too. Spice got him in on that early - as soon as he could walk in a straight line without tripping lol. Paneer doesn't like hunting (she actually really loves animals and doesn't want to hurt any ever), so it remained purely a father/son activity. They'll go out for a while - a few hours usually, or even a few days if Spice wants to go somewhere far for a challenge - and hunt game together. They lock onto/track something and work out a plan of attack, so to speak. They both have very different ways of doing/approaching things, both on a hunt and in general (it's those clashing personalities again), so they try to meet halfway and think of something that works for them both. They actually work quite well together and make a good team. (As Jack ages, Spice grants him a little more control/authority of their hunts, to see how he handles taking charge of something like that. Jack does well, for the most part. It makes Spice really proud.)
Jack likes to tell Spice about things he learns (he likes telling both his parents, really). Jack is very smart and even more curious, so he tends to pick a thing or two up every day, even if just a bit of obscure trivia - and he likes to share it with his dad, because he actually likes hearing what Spice has to say about stuff. He'll show him books, he'll bring Spice with him to the library when he can so they can read books together (I honestly think Spice is a smart guy, or at least I headcanon him as such. He was the Herald of History; it's canon that he used to enjoy having deep, open-minded discussions with others, particularly about history, so I think that lends itself to Spice being reasonably intelligent, even wise to some degree). When he was little, he'd just walk up to Spice with a book in hand and climb into his lap, then either ask him to read it to him or ask to read it together. (While Spice no longer fully possesses the patience he once had to entertain people's thoughts and attempts at conversation (he regained a decent amount, but a few millennia being violently antisocial kinda damages your people skills lol)... he has all the patience in the world for his son, so he's happy to indulge him.) Somewhere underneath this behavior is Jack's inherent need/want to get closer to his father, because (as I've mentioned in another post) they're so different from each other otherwise and he doesn't want that little gap between them to exist. They don't always understand each other very well and Jack doesn't like that. And there's still that little nagging insecurity in his heart that Spice is disappointed in who he is and he's not "worthy" of being his son, so it sometimes leads to him trying too hard to "prove" himself to Spice in one way or another. He knows his dad is smart, and he knows his dad will at least indulge him when he wants to tell him stuff, so that's the avenue Jack most often takes. "Look, Father, I know lots of things like you do. I know/want to know history like you do. I'm like you, see? Am I doing a good job?" Some sort of thought process like that. It's sad and unnecessary, but Jack doesn't really understand that for a long time (that "not knowing how to communicate with each other" thing doesn't help)
They also like to spar. Spice always made the biggest effort and took on the biggest role in training the kids in combat, and that reflects in him having one-on-one fights/sparring sessions with them both often. It's one of the ways he likes/tries to bond with them the most; he never loses his taste for battle even as a better man, and he wants to share that excitement with his children. He fights them for practical reasons and also just for fun. Jack views sparring more as a way to let off steam than to have fun (not that he doesn't have fun, though), so he doesn't necessarily always dig this every single time (because he's not upset about something all the time, you know?), but he rarely turns Spice down when he challenges him, so.
And this is more when Jack is little than any other time, but - Spice likes to pick him up and carry him around places. Jack will sit or perch on his shoulders and they'll walk around together. Just a father/son stroll, just because. Jack likes it because it makes him feel tall (Spice is like 6'5" minimum in my headcanon lol). Spice knows it makes him feel tall, so he helps his son pretend he's tall for a little while lol. They do this a lot less after Jack gets past toddler age; Jack thinks it's a little embarrassing to get piggyback rides when he's older... He just sticks to walking by Spice's side like a "mature" person then. But... Sometimes he misses clinging to his dad and feeling tall, so he'll just go ahead and fly up and perch on his shoulders like he used to. And Spice just lets him do it, whenever he wants, without any issue, because he likes being seen and admired as this larger-than-life figure (figuratively and literally) by his kids

What are your thoughts of CrossDust? What dynamic you think they have?
Permission to yap about CrossDust??
Short answer: funny i like both of them they should kiss
...Long yapping ahead (there's yapping about my Murder Sans interpretation, then there's also CrossDust. It's long.)
I'd like to first clarify that my interpretation of Dust may be different compared to many (I think, at least). Since I base his character on the canon information from Ask-Dusttale and fangames— particularly Evan Streblow's Dusttale (if you don't know, it's the one with the psychotic HAHAHAHAHAHAHA and "We're gonna have a MAD time!")
I also slot in some headcanons (and self-projections, can't help it) and some character adjustments because I think canon Murder is extremely difficult to work with, especially in the context of shipping and anything else this fandom does with him in general.
But just the gist of it so you all don't have to read that much (I can go on for ten more paragraphs. I'm obsessed with this guy):
I'll use the names Murder and Dust interchangeably and within different contexts. I like to think Murder is a front that Dust puts on— an apathetic murderer who finds emotions difficult to feel, someone who always lies to get his way, a sociopath. While Dust is quiet, honest, and more contemplative. It's mostly Murder who interacts with others.
Murder and Dust aren't necessarily two different people. Ultimately, Dust directly influences Murder's choices, and Murder may disappear one day once Dust feels content.
His hallucinations aren't only Papyrus, he also hallucinates about others although Papyrus is the most often. And these hallucinations speak different things according to the state he's in. Murder's hallucinations would encourage him to hurt more. While Dust's would induce guilt.
Murder is a very focused person, not afraid to take the lead, and he hates it when nothing happens. Dust on the other hand is content just doing nothing.
Murder finds love absurd. Dust too, but he entertains the thought of it.
Murder and Dust both think words are silly, insincere, and can change meanings, so they are more action-oriented.
He's demisexual. That's a headcanon.
And if anyone has any different interpretation of Murder/Dust Sans, that is absolutely okay and amazing. Dusttale is a very hard AU to actually get into (all the informations are scattered). Plus, there is nothing wrong with fanon. I think it's great, I like fanon. I sometimes like fanon more than canon.
Now CrossDust.
For their general dynamic, I think it's very difficult for them to get together. They just go back and forth between something and nothing. They have like... The slowest of slow burns.
I'd like to implement the entire Underverse thing. Remember how Cross stole Classic's soul? Apparently, Sanses across different alternate timelines can share a memory. So Geno knows Cross stole 'his' soul. Killer also acknowledges this and says to XChara that they stole 'his' soul.
So technically to Murder/Dust— Cross also had stolen 'his' soul (And Murder would've had felt all Cross's pain while at it, too). I think Murder would find it hilarious that Cross brought literally every single innocent AU into his problem. Dust would feel like Cross's plans are ridiculous, but since it's XChara's plan, and XChara is the human, Dust wouldn't even question it.
In a way, they share SOULs once, even if indirectly. Murder/Dust knows probably a lot about Cross. But Cross didn't know who the hell this guy is. Either way, with that in mind. Murder probably didn't have a good first impression of Cross. Dust might empathize with him, since Cross also committed a genocide in order to 'make things better' which is also Dust's reasoning. Cross might learn about Murder's actions later— but cannot judge Murder/Dust for it.
They are very similar. Kindred souls in a way. They went through similar struggles but they turned out to be completely different people. Because Cross in his entire life is under control, while Murder acts on choice. Because Cross knows what he did is horrible and he'll carry that sin to the grave, while Murder justifies his actions.
Cross is too trusting (he doesn't trust easily now), too seeking for approval, he doesn't know what to do if no one orders him. Murder thinks he himself is enough, Murder thinks he is the hero, he doesn't need anyone else.
Cross thinks Murder is a bad person, an absolute jerk. Murder likes to toy with him, probably also uses Cross to his advantage. Murder can either try to hurt Cross, or will try to win his favour. But can Cross judge him? Not really, hell, I don't think Cross even noticed if Murder did manipulate him. Low-key toxic these two.
But then there's the private moments, the intimate moments where Dust shed the front that is Murder. Where Dust is sincere; he doesn't talk, but the way he gazes and acts towards Cross is honest. And although reluctant, maybe Cross desires to bring that side out of him more.
It's both difficult for them to trust. But eventually Dust will learn that Cross cannot lie— Dust will trust words again. Eventually Cross realizes that he's not the only one hurt, and he can find a home in others, he can choose to find a home.
Cross will find it frustrating how Dust shuts himself down. Dust would find it frustrating how hard Cross tries for him. But eventually, Dust would learn to no longer front himself up with Murder. Cross would need a signal from Dust that what he's doing is okay and perfect before they can advance further.
They'll care about one another.
Eventually, they'll trust each other.
In a relationship sense where they're both happy and recovered, though. I think both of them like cuddling. Dust still had a hard time with words, but he knows how much it means for Cross to have words of affirmations, so he would praise Cross a lot. Cross knows Dust is as restless as he is, so he makes sure they both have a full schedule with a lot of things to do.
All in all, they're comfortable with each other. And that's enough, really.

Hi Sun, hi Moon! :D How do you guys attend to the children? I know Sun had that Killcode, I imagine since it's a complicated code to derive from your normal programmed coding, it took a while to separate? I'd assume if it was like, super progressed, most likely it'd have taken.. at least a few weeks or maybe a month/more? :P
Also can I hug you guys :3
Sun: Oh!! Our first ask!! How exciting!
Sun: Okay, okay, I practiced this, okay, *inhales*
Tumblr media
Sun: Here in the Superstar Daycare, we offer a safe and clean space for the children to play in! We provide toys and activities, such as arts and crafts, games, read-aloud times for books both entertaining and educational, movies and television shows, healthy meals for lunch and tasty treats for snacktime, and plenty of indoor playgrounds for the children to run out their energy! We have castles, the many tunnels of our play places, slides, and the ballpit of course!
Sun: I supervise the children at all times and ensure theyre always playing safely and having fun! I lead during activities, and help ensure all of our little superstars have something to do and are comfortable! I’m equipped to care for children with special needs, or various allergies or conditions! In the event of an injury, I’m programmed with first aid training.
Sun: And after hours, I clean the daycare and keep it washed, sanitized, and spotless!
Tumblr media
Sun: And MOON–!
Moon: …
Sun: …
Moon: …
Sun: …
Tumblr media
Sun: –Isn't here a lot of the time.
Moon: Nope!
Moon: I just supervise naptime. (I think you mean I supervise naptime most of the time.) I make the kids lay down and sleep. (I usually end up doing that cuz he doesn’t show up for WORK very often–!) If they don’t wanna, moondrop candies work WONDERS. (At least that’s one of the NICER ways you deal with the kids.)
Moon: I dunno what you want from me, I’m not good with kids.
Sun: Says the guy I’ve caught reading bedtime stories and singing to the kids.
Tumblr media
Moon: *AHEM* They also want to know about the killcode and how we separated.
Sun: Oh… they do? I don't, I don't, uh…
Moon: I can take this part.
Sun: Yeah… please…
Sun: …You're better at the sciency stuff anyways!
Tumblr media
Moon: Alright, about that.
Tumblr media
Moon: The only thing I will say about Sun's Killcode is that IT wasn't the issue when it came to separating.
Tumblr media
Moon: What sucked about separating was that Sun and I were built in such a way that everything we were was intertwined. Our minds, our codes, all of it was built to rely on both halves being there. The body itself was designed to have two separate AIs, and it was a HUGE RISK for the body to only have one AI after one of us left. (In their infinite wisdom, whoever made us designed us that way intentionally. The dick.)
Tumblr media
Moon: Sun and I were so entangled that separating was a massive risk to us; if we weren't extremely careful, our minds could be damaged when being pulled apart from each other. So that was one thing, making sure we could unwind our codes without breaking either of us.
Moon: The Killcode wasn't a big deal when it came to this; that thing was just one bit of code among a million others.
Moon: Then I had to find a way to make sure Sun's body could survive only having the one AI instead of two, and THAT was a whole thing...
Tumblr media
Moon: I started researching this as soon as Sun and I stopped fighting  You really wanna know how long it took? It took over a YEAR! A year of research trying to figure this out, only a few hours each day, in the short periods of time when I was able to move when the lights were out. Once the lights came back on and Sun was back out, I couldn't DO anything.
Moon: It was HELL.
Moon: ...
Moon: But, as for when we finally had everything ready, the actual procedure itself only took about a day…
Moon: We were sitting around, hooked up to the computer down in parts and services, and the computer combed through our heads to make sure everything was in the right place.
Moon: (At least, that's what it was SUPPOSED to do... Except now we find out it might have made an error and given me too much of Sun's code... his killcode...)
Sun: (Um...)
Tumblr media
Moon: As for the Killcode, all you need to know is it's gone now. Sun doesn't have it anymore.
Moon: That was a fair question to ask though.
Sun: *AHEM!* Okay, okay, that’s all they need to hear about THAT! Moving on!!
Sun: …
Sun: Oh yeah there's one more part to the question!
Sun: They wanna know if they can get a hug!
Moon: Oh do they.
Tumblr media
Sun: If you want to, sure! I give the kids hugs all the time, so why not!
Moon: No you may not. Don't touch me.

Hard agree to all of this. Listen, I do not expect 911 to be an Emmy-worthy juggernaut of storytelling and deep emotional intricacies, but it had always had a lot of heart and been entertaining as fuck. It's the weewoo show that punches me right in the feels at least a couple times a season. But this isn't fun anymore. The whiplash of the storylines, the "phoning it in" feel of the emotional beats, the bonkers pacing...like it legitmately feels like they've been told they're not getting renewed so they're just throwing all the storylines they even vaguely thought of to the wall to see if something sticks as a satisfying ending for some of the characters, but no one in the writer's room is bothering to do the work to MAKE things fit and have impact.
I'm BORED with my comfort show's storylines and the characters have been flattened so much that I'm not willing to watch for them. And, I don't do hatewatching, so I decided to give them til the midpoint to win me back and they really, REALLY didn't. I'm done watching unless they do a huge course correct in the back half...gonna play in the fanfic sandbox and maybe find some new comfort shows.
Very frustrating, especially since 911 is the equivalent of junk food for TV. It doesn't have to be a life-altering experience, but it does have to hit the spot. And they ain't hitting shit.
I'm feeling bitchily critical today so. Let's get critical.
Reasons why Season 8 of 911 (so far) sucks:
Bobby and Athena are aimless
They have no house. The logical development is for them to look for one, one for their future. That is theirs. Where are the house hunting woes? The disageeements and compromises? Are they ever going to have a chance to find a place they both love? Or build one, even?
Athena's job description is all over the place
She's giving school talks. She's conducting traffic stops. She's escorting a prisoner across state lines. She is mentoring new officers. She's a goddamn Sergeant but what is her job scope? Every single thing requiring the presence of police, apparently!
Hen and Karen have little direction for growth
The Mara adoption issue could have brought out more of their relationship, developed them in terms of relying on each other through a difficult time. The storyline with Ortiz could have really delved into the struggles of the foster care system, and how Hen and Karen broke rules designed to protect the kids. (Seriously, if a child is removed from a foster family, it's logical not allowing the foster parents to meet the child that was removed for the safety of the child). Where was the appeal to Ortiz as a mother? Where was the struggle? Where is the tension between the Wilsons and the Hans? Instead there was a Deux Ex Gerrard. And I am not even gonna start on the whole "why didn't you take leave for Halloween" shit, that stuff should have been settled when Denny was a baby. What are their next steps? Same old same old?
Gerrard is a joke
An established bigot and racist returns. He could have been a great way to show how the 118 has grown beyond him and his bullying. Instead they're cowed by him, and lets him yell at Buck? Whatever happened to the "who cares" courage in Season 7? And he gets the reward of his dream job?
Eddie is still not healed
He emotionally cheated on his girlfriend with his dead wife's doppelganger. Has he even processed what that actually means? No! His son moved to Texas. Has he coped with the loneliness in his house? Who knows? Certainly not the audience, since we don't see him go to therapy or, hell, have a full breakdown! He confides in people who aren't his friends, let alone his so-called best friend! Bobby gave him a prayer book but we don't even hear Eddie rage at a God who keeps putting devastation and challenges in his way. What wa the point of the prayer book then? He just danced in his underwear and somehow that made him smile and now he's moving across the country and, what, giving up on his home and his job? Is that really healing, Edmundo Díaz? Or are you just running from the problem again?
Chimney has no internal or external motivation
He was providing for Mara for a few months. Was he stressed about it? Did he think about seeking a promotion for a higher salary? Also, he is an immigrant. Does that influence how he teaches Jee? Has he and Maddie, white suburban raised Maddie, ever discussed the potential problems Jee might face? Or whether they wanna include some Korean culture in Jee's education, since they gave her a Korean name? Does he ever think about any of these issues? Is he at all conflicted? What does Chimney want?
Maddie
She was the one who wanted to meet Tommy. Has she done so outside of the wedding? What was her opinion of him? Is Maddie content to stay in Dispatch in the exact same position? Has she any career ambition? And about Jee: does she never think about the Korean part of Jee? Connecting to her own culture? Learning Korean, maybe? That would have been interesting because perhaps she wants her daughter to connect to that part of her roots but Chimney doesn't, for his own reasons. Also, if she wants to have a second kid, why didn't she discuss it with Chimney outright before the pregnancy? Was she not taking the pill? Were they careless again? What would she do if Chimney didn't want a second child? Abort? Given how the first pregnancy was traumatic for the whole family, including her brother, this development is showing her to be pretty self-centered, frankly. I don't know this Maddie. She's not the same one that gave Buck her Jeep to escape, knowing that she'll be hurt by an abusive husband.
Brad
Why is airtime devoted to a character that is barely connected to the 118? What is the reason behind giving him so much focus? Is he supposed to quit acting and become a firefighter or something? What is the rationale for his existence?
.
.
And I haven't even touched on Buck or Tommy.

Notable quotes from the kindergarteners and first graders this week:
“My dad went somewhere with three grizzly bears. He took a plane there. I think he’s still in this world.”
*raises hand in the middle of a lesson* “I played with my John Deer tractors this morning.”
*right after a fifteen minute lesson on architecture and reading a story about architecture* “wait, what’s architecture?”
“I like to turn on my ghost vision. It makes it so I can see ghosts.”
“Are you a grandma?” Me: no, I’m 26 “oh. So you’re like 16?” Me: ….sure.
*raises hand in the middle of a lesson* “I spilled my grandmas ashes once” *multiple other kids raise hands to tell me about their dead relatives and pets*…the lesson was about clay…?
*putting both hands up in a rock n roll gesture 🤘🏻* “I sold my soul to the devil!!”
*kid on the carpet acting like a dog* other kid turns to me and solemnly says, nodding: he’s a furry

to the person who sent the ask- yeah, it’s extremely fucking concerning dream positioned himself as the victim and deflecting by saying “it’s out of context!” and not giving it (which, I’ve watched the streams, they aren’t any different in context, if you meant something different tell us because it looks creepy as shit in context too) when people pointed out he kept making sexual jokes about a sixteen year old after being told to stop. He admitted to regretting the 16 year old is legal comment (which I personally don’t forgive him for because he was still minimising it instead of going “yeah that was fucked I straight up should not have done that and it was my fault.”) so it’s not like he stands by all of them, but the fact he considers Tommy making paedo jokes Because An Adult Is Actively Being Weird To Him worse than him making blatantly sexualised jokes is fucked. I don’t think he’s a nonce I think he’s stupid and arrogant and doubles down on doing awful shit but it’s like. I think Tommy has every right to say whatever he wants about Dream due to that, it’s not suddenly not traumatising because it’s not Meant to be, there’s a reason we have legislation on child stars now. The internet is in it’s like 1930s Hollywood area where you can just do whatever you want and there’s no safeguards, and that’s something that should be spoke up about before we get more Shirley Temples and Judy Garlands.

another day another TMI rant
Hmmm it has come to my attention that there is something rather off-putting? confusing? hollow? self-doubt inducing? about people being casual-sexually attracted to you but not showing even a hint of interest to you as a person when it is outside of that casually-sexual context🤔 You'd think that getting complimented on your looks was nice (and it is, don't get me wrong) but when it is the only driving force for multiple interactions with different people... It can be a very objectifying experience :/ Especially once they find out that you're not into anything casual and suddenly you no longer exist.
I mean, I still haven't found myself crushing on/interested in anyone as of now, but y'know... I'm still interested in people and who they are in general. They don't just stop existing to me once they are out of my sight. Like... I don't need to want to have sexy times with someone to want to know who they are?😭 I've said it before but, do people nowadays really only care for others if it somehow benefits them?
I've found that I'm not made for casual relationships (which is obvs completely fine and it also fine if someone is the opposite). But it is tricky and frustrating that there only ever seems to be two reasons people approach me or engage with me: 1) casual-sexual thing 2) they just don't. And I mean this for both romantic and friendly relationships. Either they just see someone they wanna bang or there's no engagement at all (or it's very surface level/impersonal). :(
Like... I'm a personnnn. I like myself just fineeee; can't be that off putting that it's only my looks people want to deal with ?? My brain could be hot too??? asdfhg lmao :')

it’s all been said before but the whole pronouns thing for some people is getting so ridiculous it’s honestly just sad
#just saw a TIF post ‘i’ve decided that in addition to he/they i am now interested in ‘he/they/she. but just as a spicy little extra#only on rare occasion for fun. but please don’t ONLY use she/her for me if you use that please switch it up from time to time!’#like girl can’t you see how meaningless this all is. it’s a consumerist hobby to you it’s a game of playing with masks for fun#it’s literally just about playing pretend and getting excited when your friends play along. it’s a bit#but actors get uncomfortable when the topic lingers on the truth for too long. they’re cool with dancing around it sometimes#but they don’t like being unmasked openly because they don’t like their true selves they like having a persona#this whole trans thing is so insanely dangerous people are straight up encouraging personality disorder type behavior#or like. when people who ‘use multiple pronoun sets’ post stuff like ‘i wish people would actually bother to switch it up sometimes#or use he or she instead of always just they :/‘ like yeah people are avoiding saying anything real because they’re afraid of upsetting you#and catching you on a bad day where that’s not right#or like. they’d prefer a consistent approach to language at the very least instead of fulfilling your ever-changing fantasies#because you can’t make up your mind because you always need more and more attention and can’t just be satisfied with yourself#literally i can remember my own experience with this thing wasn’t ‘maybe i’m actually not a girl’ (this is almost never it)#it was ‘maybe it would be fun to go she/they and put a non-binary flag in my icon and reblog all these cool posts about being trans’#’it looks like it would be a lot of fun to get in on this cool thing and be someone special and have a secret identity in real life’#it is so much fun to play pretend. and it is so damaging to act like these intrusive thoughts actually mean anything about your gender#bc when you spend too much time on the internet and start entertaining the idea of being someone else#it starts to feel weird when people irl refer to you as who you are with all relevant gendered language#dysphoria is being manufactured by overthinking about things while having ideas flow into your mind by a constant social media stream#for a whole generation of people online it is almost never an actual natural thing
