I think most of the fandom largely agrees that ponys interpretation of Darry was WAY off. blinded by greif n remorse n years n responsibility. pony who thought Darry hated him. who couldn't see how scared Darry was. how much he truly loved him. now. if we can agree that pony misinterpreted Darry. can we not believe the same for soda? pony who would forgive soda anythin. would forget when sodas' sudden anger was aimed at him. would forgive when Soda became impulsive to the point of harmin. soda. his golden. perfect brother. n of course he would. cause when you're convinced one brother hates you would you not be desperate to glorify the other?

I love how in fma you see the two siblings try to be strong, and suddenly you see them break down, and all of the facade they tried so hard to build up to motivate them suddenly collapses and you can def see how they are just kids.

This scene tho. Ed went from having a lead to philosopher's stone to realizing the pay to create one is to use living human beings. This guy is like 15-16 yrs old. He is considering what he should do and then Lt Ross motivating him to not give up and he then pursues the philosopher stone regardless bc he can't give up yet. Then he fights people who are similar to his brother, who destroyed themselves right in front of him bc they dont consider themselves humans. Then what does it make his brother? He goes through all these things only to realize that people used him to create the philosopher stone, all the leads he found up to now were fake, and he has to either sacrifice tons of people to create the philosopher stone or otherwise his brother will be killed by them. AND HE DECIDES TO SACRIFICE TONS OF PEOPLE BC THATS HIS BROTHER AND HE HESITATES BC THATS LIVING PEOPLE. and then HE GETS ELECTROCUTED. my guy suffered not only stab wounds, his arm went dysfunctional, he is almost on the verge of insanity and then he gets electrocuted. L i k e. Bro does not get ONE MOMENT OF PEACE. And then lt Ross hugs him, and he thinks it's his mother. Like his one moment of weakness, one moment of being warmly hugged, he thinks of his mother.

This scene speaks to me in so many levels.

The other day I got sad because I thought too hard about that scene in wich Tendou tells Ushijima that they had an extra bed in their room and he asked Ushijima if they should invite Shoyou because he wasn't officially invited to the camp and he felt bad about him leaving alone.

I thought about how everybody thinks that both Tendou and Ushijima are weird and scary, and that probably their room is labeled as "The Monsters room" and maybe that's why the bed is available, because nobody wanted to room with them. And my heart broke a little because they are just kids...

For me their bond is so strong because they were the first ones to see the other as that, just another teen and got to know each other as people. But it's sad that nobody else gave them the chance.

idk i think the reason that i love kids so much (and why i don't get ppl who hate kids and make it their personality to hate kids and be terrible to them) is that they're people and people that are learning to be people for the first time and so like you have the opportunity to teach them what love and kindness and goodwill and beauty looks like and feels like and is and you just. choose not to? and now that new little person is going to go out into this world and through their life for who knows how long (maybe all of it!) thinking that the world is only badness and hate and being mean so of course that's all they're going to put back into it bc that's all they were given. that's all they think there is. so like. idk if you're an adult maybe don't be mean to kids just bc you can. just a thought. bc maybe you're the only adult that kid has ever encountered that will demonstrate that the default is actually not badness. and that hate is actually the exception and we're supposed to love but some of us weren't taught what that actually looks like so we have to learn it later. idk maybe don't be an asshole to kids.

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love
