I don't usually do pride art but I decided that I should go for it and have fun since it's June :D - Not a lot of my guys have confirmed sexualities or so (they're kinda just floating around until I get a FEELING) but the few guys that do deserve some love <3

Gorou Akechi and Touya Todoroki are the same (kinda)

Spoilers for Persona 5 Royal and My Hero Academia (including the manga)

Both characters...

have a deep resentment and hatred stemming from their desire to be acknowledged by their influential father.

have an elaborate plan to expose and bring ruin to that father.

don't care how many people they have to hurt to reach their goal.

are willing to throw their life away for said goal.

were given more power than they could reasonably handle at a young age.

were used as pawns in a game/battle between beings of unimaginable power.

were reached too late for a proper redemption.

The difference is that while Touya suffered longer, he eventually found a like-minded community. Although it may have eased the emotional burden, it probably also sealed his fate, since Shigaraki's ideals of bringing about absolute destruction gave an outlet for Dabi's anger and his motivations remained unchallenged. But to be honest, he was probably far beyond the point of no return even before that. Now all we can hope for is that he gets to rekindle his brotherly bond with Shouto, even if just a tiny bit, before he passes for good.

Akechi had to carry his burden alone and had already gone to unimaginable lengths for someone his age, but he was also still young. He was too far gone to join forces with the Phantom Thieves to take down Shidou, but not too far gone to pass the torch to them after he realised he had lost. During the third semester we see that he wasn't beyond redemption, even though it would have taken a lot of work to get there. The genuine bond he built with Joker (who challenged his methods and ideals at every turn) brought him back from the brink, but it was too late to make a meaningful difference. What makes his death more tragic is that he could have been saved if he had been reached just a few years earlier, while Touya was a dead man walking from the moment Endeavor failed to show up in that forest.

To be clear, I don't actually think they are the same. They present quite differently as characters and don't really serve the same role in the narrative either. It's just interesting to draw parallels and see how different stories handle similar setups and character tropes.

PS. Don't fight me on whether Akechi's alive in the end. I flip-flop between interpretations all the time (or rather, I refuse to commit to one). This is just where his narrative ends in the game.

Just thinking about how Jean Moreau is one of the best backliners in Class I exy but I don’t think anyone has even seen his peek potential yet

Just thinking about how Neil is able to match Riko at every turn with his speed at the Final Raven v Foxes match and he catches Riko by surprise since Riko is not expecting Neil in top form as when Neil was at the nest he only got on the court after being beat and his physical condition only got worse as the weeks progressed.

So just thinking that about how Jean has never played an Exy game not in pain. He is one of the best even while always playing in pain somewhere on his body. So I can’t wait to see Jean realize what he can do when he finally gets to play when he’s not in pain.

And for everyone to realize that they’ve seen Jean Moreau play but they haven’t seen Jean Moreau play
