So the other day my half aunt was looking through my portfolio for drama and fond a monologue I had written. In this monologue it had some of my deepest secrets I hide from my family and most everyone else. One part stated how I was trapped inside the wrong body and had to hide to please my family because they would not except it. After reading this my aunt looked at me and said, "I know how you feel I always wanted to be a boy to, but with my family and the way society was I never allowed that part of me to show. Do and be what makes you happy sweetheart and I'll love you just the same." This almost made me cry the first person in my family to know I am transgender is supportive. I never in a million years thought that was possible, and learning my aunt had always been that way too was also very shocking. I feel bad that she/he was never able to be who they wanted/truly were, and may never be, then had to go through and survive cancer losing a child in the process. Its not far but the world sometimes not far. It just makes me so happy to know I have a few amazing friends who are supportive of my being male, others not sadly, and one family member. This gives me hope for the future. (emotions are/were high I almost cried).
