Hesitating now, with the explanation behind the traumatic Christmas memory of Penelope the 2nd

Either I keep my HC it is a fake memory induced by Santa out of a cartoony psychological manipulation since she actually doesn't mind Christmas usually and since we see no Pandora, in a different home, and she has seemingly 2 parents instead of just Petunia/Penelope the 1st who seems to care since she yells at the deadbeat dad named Howard for forgetting the gifts, the cliché of the bad dad in a nuclear family with Penelope as the sad only child on Christmas

Or (influenced by @theslotherin18 and some others who brought this up today on the Discord server and me adding my own touches and mixing it all up)

That is an actual memory that happened once on one Christmas so it didn't traumatize her nor made her hate Christmas but when she remembers it it hurts, Petunia/Penelope the 1st didn't care about her but liked to pamper her and spoil her to have her influence her better as well as because she project herself on her therefore would want her to have the best since she herself deserves the best and so is mad solely for that at her boyfriend at the moment who was the first guy she could find not caring for him but wanting to stop being a spinster at last, said guy Howard was not the dad but the mom's boyfriend of the moment and was with her because she was hot and rich and a retired celebrity but absolutely not eager at all about the fact she already had kids and made 0 effort like didn't care about their real names and would break up some days or weeks later after only a relationship of 2 or 3 months which would have Petunia/Penelope the 1st enrage more and mentally blame her daughters even more since they doom her to stay unmarried, Pandora is not there because in the mother's eyes it is not about her but solely about her little champion in making Penelope the 2nd so she is just celebrating all sad all alone with no gift, and it doesn't look like the twins' design chindhood home because they are either at Howard's house or at the family's chalet, the Pitstops are rich after all

Red Max X Dread Baron from Wacky Races and Laff-A-Lympics (yes 2 different shows but they take place in the same universe canonically). It came out as a joke only because they seemingly are single and have common points (big nosed moustached black haired WWI-style pilot bastards with German origins and a name that is a spoof of the Red Baron who have beef with Dick Dastardly and have a rivalry with a guy for simping over a pretty and curvy blonde girl), but then my mind went WILD and I got encouraged by @theslotherin18 and @papabirdurskeks to keep it and make it serious, they both realize they are bi with each other after having bonded over being "heart broken" (it never was love just lust) by their respective blonde crushes, aviation and not being able to stand Dick one night they met randomly at a bar, and nowadays during the event of the 2017 reboot they are old husbands

Proofs Penelope Pitstop the 1st is not a good person and pretends to be nice and helpful because it's cute and makes her popular :

She finds Muttley ugly (means nothing I know but how dare she)

A detail, but she is seen exploiting a shoe seller once, him looking tired abd desperate carrying dozens of shoe boxes to her car while she cheerfully opens the march carrying nothing

She has ties with the mafia, she knows the Anthill Mob are criminals and they DID do crime before being her bodyguards but she doesn't mind, and knowing her family has a monopoly on a lot of businesses something tells me and @theslotherin18 the Pitstops she included are not innocent and these gangsters not working for her for nothing

In an unused storyboard we see she was so pissed that time Dick won and is implied to have been the one to show the judges the footage that showed he cheated (and given how the footage looks fake and how other racers did what he did before without counting as cheating she might have corrupted or seduced the judges because she refused to lose to him)

She is visibly a woman misogyne, who thinks women who ignore shoe sales are not real women, and supposing she is Petunia that real women should retire from their career at some point to settle down and leave it to the boys

And ironically she uses girl power as an excuse to be mean to men and basically demand that they let her win and let her do whatever she wants

She pretends to like art galleries and goes to them to seem intelligent despite not being able to pronounce Van Gogh, not a bad thing itself but it adds to the list of why she's fake

She openly judges, calls out and mocks people's looks and fashion and in the end it's always her own things that are flawless to her

She loathes her sister solely because she is younger with a less thicc ass

She often thinks about her ancestors being ghosts and watching her when she is "naughty" and what they would think of her. Could be either saucy or literally naughty the bad way (or both)

To her the first thing you need to see before choosing a man is his looks (with strict fashion standards of hers) and he must be the one to bring money on the table

She has no qualm in seducing to corrupt or have men do things for her, in fact to cheat but for some reason it doesn't count as such. And when it doesn't work she blames men to let her do things by herself. Probably why she doesn't bother to truly drive, in fact, she counts on simps

She is not faithful. Officially she's with OG Peter during the events of the show but she also flirts with any boys for winning the races as I said but also has Red Max in her favors as his main rival (and possibly Sergeant Blast) and flirted with Speed Racer and Johnny Bravo outside of the racing context. In fact she enjoys and purposefully makes the rivals fight for her sometimes railing them up with a request or a flirt, just the time for her to win or even watch and feel flattered which makes them feel miserable in the end and aware they are used but can't help

She is extremely abusive towards Peter. Granted he too is unfaithful and is with her just because she is pretty and he has a type for petite blondes, but she still has the poor man (supposing he reforms later by becoming a good guy and reboot Peter's dad and thus we can pity him because he has good in him he doesn't know yet during the OG show) be rolled over (sometimes by herself !) or break all his bones to go fetch her some lipstick or not even be thanked after he stopped to fix her car and she just lets him there in the desert or has him go into fights with rivals which emotionally exhaust him or has him lose his races by manipulating him with her charms to win or forces him to be engaged to her or publicly tells their sex life and how he sucks at it or pretends to get into Feng Shui to dump his things or when she discovers Dick and Muttley gagged him inside her truck she does not free him but races with him in her truck to show him as proof to the judges the duo (passing as him) are liars and that way she wins and he STILL remains in her truck because she only cared about him as a proof to win and have Dick lose etc

What she wants whether he wants it or not is to marry him, even forcing his hand into something he did not say (he was trying to tell her she was stepping on his toe and she immediatly claimed he was proposing, at this point she is either crazy/dumb or perfectly knowing what she is doing), in fact that's probably why she has "spare" suitors like Red Max or maybe Sergeant Blast, because ultimately what she wants is not their love since she doesn't give a shit about them but her wealthy princess wedding day

Given how it is confirmed she actually secretly loves OG Dick yet treats him like trash like I said with how she never wants him to win (not just the Peter Perfect gagging and the judge corruption but another time he DOES win without her being able to do anything about it and she is PISSED more than for any other racer) and how she often calls him ugly with poor fashion choices and mocks him, that's basically morally harrassing someone just because you can't fuck them as a revenge and because her ego is probably mad he is the only person telling her no, I mean he NEVER EVER looks interested unlike most male racers and he's not gay since we see him into other women so it's very insulting to her

Supposing she is Petunia in the reboot, she is an extremely neglectful mother to Pandora whom she didn't care about at all and on the contrary projects way too much on reboot Penelope and pressures her to the point of having given her her name (maybe that's why she changed her own, that way there is ONE Penelope Pitstop and she shall live forever through her) and having made her a clone of her "morally" (smile and wave, be pretty, be nice, be feminine, and even if reboot Penelope is genuinely nice unlike her there are times it really is forced with forced happiness/helpfulness and she is about to snap, and even if we do see her put on make up during a race and bat her lashes for the boys to let her pass them during a race these both only happen once) and aesthetically (making her dye blonde, put on make up like her, become a racer, drive a car called the Compact Pussycat, be clad in a more modern version of her old gear, pink everywhere etc) and even then it's not enough, she sees her like a doll she keeps putting perfume on and brushes even when it bothers her because she is racing ; plus she projects herself on reboot Penelope SO much that perhaps she also neglects Pandora because she projects her hated sister on her and she wants to make sure "she" won't have anything this time

Again supposing she is her, she is also abusive to reboot Penelope since she publicly bodyshames her calling her headsize too big and telling her not to have a snack or she would get fat (so she is fatphobic too) and guilttrips her into not arguing back since whenever she tries to defend her own opinion she immediatly cuts and laments that this all gives her stress lines, proving that in the end she doesn't care for her either and only wants to keep her on a leash by trying to reduce her confidence ; fortunately for reboot Penelope she looks aware and is beyond annoyed

She is also a hypocrite since right after having shamed her daughter for ordering a snack she orders one for herself (a rude way with an angry/disdainful face and tone and no please) and is seen eating a burger in the end of the episode, and same end of the episode she who pretends racing is just for boys after a certain age takes out her old gear and dresses up in it she thus visibly kept and had with her the whole time AS SOON as she can take the wheel and enjoys the race which she wins and proudly celebrates (all that ecstasy that looks like she had not raced in years plus the gear... SEE WHY WE ALL SEE HER AS THE SAME CHATACTER ?) and then tells her daughter she would do it again

In short if Petunia is OG Penelope, reboot Penelope truly sounds and looks like she deeply resents her and sees Mother's Day like a chore

In conclusion, she may be worse than cartoony HB villains. Because while they are evil a cartoony way and mostly work like an "oppressed" subsociety like I said in other posts with their own standards, codes, stuff that are friendly to them but abusive to our eyes etc, she is actually coldly realistic by pretending to be a good person while being incredibly demeaning and manipulative doubled with narcissism. In fact most HB villains have loved ones even their kids and she only cares for herself and broke her daughters despite being in the good guy category and adored in-universe. No wonder OG Dick doesn't want her, he has villain standards like I said and there is cartoon bad and real bad

(This is not an anti-Penelope post sure I don't like her but for different reasons and those points and that analysis I have on the contrary make her extremely interesting to me)
