Dating Theseus Scamander Would Include...

Hi! This is my first post so please be nice!

My requests are open so if you have any ideas don’t be shy !

I like to think that Theseus is the type of man who knows what he wants in life and that includes women

So when you first met there was an instant attraction on both parts cuz lets be honest who wouldn’t be attracted to that man

Would be professional with you if you two worked together but would definitely make a few flirty remarks here and there when you were alone

Would make the first move when asking you out

Would bring you to a nice restaurant that he knew you would like 

He was a true gentleman. He would pick you up from your appartement, bring you a single rose, open the door for you, etc

It was a perfect night

After that night he was completely infatuated with you 

Would ask you on a few other dates before asking you to be officially his

He’s a romantic in a relationship so expect him to compliment every chance he gets especially if it earns him a blush on your face

Will be the first to say I love you

Pda with Theseus would be sweet and simple especially at work so a quick peck before heading off to work in his office

If you were both in a meeting together he would try and stay as professional as possible but the small smile that appeared on his face when you walk in or when you talk would put a dent in his professional facade

Outside of work would be a lot of hand holding, arm around your shoulder but all the romantic and passionate kisses would be saved for when you are alone

Even if you two weren’t big on pda everyone knew you two had a thing for each other by the way both of you would smile and look at each other

Theseus would have to work late nights due to the importance of his job

When he came home from those late nights the one thing on his mind is holding you in his arms to decompress 

He would make it up to you by bringing you out on cute dates 

You would help him on those stressful nights by either staying there with him and helping him out or simply pouring him a nice bubble bath for you two to relax in afterwards

Since he holds a high rank in the ministry he would ask you to join him to the galas and balls that were held at the ministry

He loved having you by his side and show you off

He especially loved having you there because he knew you were there to support him and no one else

Always makes you feel like you’re the most beautiful women in the room because in his eyes you are

Whenever you walk in a room you can alway feel his eyes on you doesn’t matter where you are 

When you make eye contact he gives you one of his infamous smirks 

Every time he went on a mission you would make him promise to be careful 

He would promise you that he would and he meant it because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you and the idea to leave you before he could put a ring on your finger and make a promise to live the rest of your lives together was something he never wanted to happen

He would keep a pocket watch with a picture of you in it to be able remind himself what was waiting for him once he got home

His job is important to him no one can say otherwise but now you were his number one priority and he always makes you feel like you’re the only women for him because you are

After the incident with Grindelwald in Paris I feel like he would find comfort in the fact that you were safe He lost colleagues he’s worked with so he’s in mourning but you help him through it instead of letting him succumb to anger and revenge  I think the fact that you being by his side through the long nights the sleepless ones and his mood swings caused by tiredness would be what makes him go out and by a ring

He couldn’t picture his life without you and he didn’t want to so he went out bought a ring and decided that the best way to propose would be by recreating the first date you went on

The speech would be emotional with him saying that he knows that they are in a time of war and you never know what could happen but that he knows one thing that you were the only one for him 

You obviously say yes crying into his arms He would hold you while a few tears of joy would fall from his own eyes

Summary: Based off of Shawn Mendez’s song Nervous. Modern!World AU/ Regular!World AU. Theseus has started going to college in the states and by chance he runs into a girl that steals his heart. She pulls him out of his comfort zone and gets him to do things he’s never done before. Will his coffee shop romance bloom into more? Or will it run cold?

Chapter 1,

Dating Newt (winter edition)

-It became too cold outside for you usual walks by the forest so you find yourselves bundled up inside

-Neither or you really care where you find yourselves as long as it’s with each other

-During dinner in the great hall, you try to sneak besides Newt to join him for dinner (and if you’re from a separate house, the Hufflepuffs often give you weird looks, hoping it’ll chase you away) 

-You wait for Newt after broom practice and lead him to a corner hidden from the other students

-You hold Newt’s hands and warm them, trying to bring warmth to your boyfriend as he quietly laughs

-Sitting next to each other, Newt grabs you by your scarf to bring your face closer to him to kiss you

-Until someone sees and he becomes so shy that he tries to hide his face behind your scarf that is still wrapped in his hands

-Newt misses you when it’s dark out and tries to find your common room and spends a couple nights walking through the halls aimlessly until he’s told to return to his house for the evening

-At the first snow, the two of you decide that you don’t care if it’s too cold and that you’ll go for a walk anyway

-It’s freezing outside so both of your noses turn cold and red, the tips of Newt’s ears blushing a bright red (is it from the cold or from you warming your hands in his robe pocket?)

-During break, you ride the train together back to the station but you huddle together for warmth. Other students pass by and peep in the window and spot the two of you face to face, nothing but love filling your private train car (they want what the two of you have or something half as lovely as it)

-You have owls constantly flying back and forth between your houses with letters about how holiday is going or how your lives are in general and your parents tease about how much attention your giving him (even though they think it’s sweet)

Headcannon

So I have an OC in my little fanon world where Newt and Tina are related to Percy Jackson. In this world a few things to know, Newt and Tina are like physically trapped in time so they look like how Katherine and Eddie do now, they raised Sally after her parents died, and they teach at Ilvermorny with Theseus and Jacob(both trapped in time because I do what I want and Jacob is the cook at the school). Back to the OC, said OC is Percy’s twin sister who is raised by Newt and Tina and visited camp in the summer and going to Ilvermorny for school. Her name is Cassandra Porpentina Goldstein-Scamander/Jackson(she goes back and forth on last names depending on her location). When Cassie and Percy were 15, Poseidon had her sent to Hogwarts thinking she’d be safe from the Titans there. She’s a proud Gryffindor and Thunderbird who became an Auror while also having a prominent presence at Camp to annoy Mr. D. None of this matters really I just wanted to say, my OC likes to make her Pop’s (Newt) life difficult because she’s dating Tina’s ex Achilles Tolliver’s great grandson AJ. But Newt can only be mad at his Niffler for so long so Cassie never gets in trouble with Newt. If you’d all like to hear more let me know!☺️

I really, really, reeeeaaaaalllyyy need the Scamander family to be like 110% supportive of Newt. Like Theseus the war hero hearing someone making fun of Newt for being shy and being all "my little brother faces down the scariest, most dangerous beasts for fun, it's him who got the courage in this family" Or a reporter asking mama/papa scamander about their son (she clearly means Theseus but they aren't having any of it) and they start gushing about Newt's book. And Theseus knows a lot about Newt's creatures and teaches him spell to help defend himself when there's a creature rampaging And Newt's parents funding his trips and when he feels guilty they tell him "honey you're doing science and discovering things and saving lives we could not be more proud. Just keep being amazing, okay?" And when Newt was little, he felt left out because he wasn't as social as the other kids, but he had his family to help him through everything. Please I really want the Scamander bros/fam to be super close and supportive, PLEASE I swear someone will pay if this doesn't happen. Or I'll write a fanfic. Maybe both

Headcanon:

Percival Graves and Theseus Scamander have a slightly longer history than just corresponding during the incidents of New York.

In 1918, the ministry decided to fire all aurors who had deliberately endangered the statue of secrecy by rescuing muggles during WWI, and have them replaced with applicants younger and from other countries. Percival Graves, during this time head of the MACUSA’s auror’s department, decided to offer said rebels a second chance in the United States, explaining his decision by pointing out that they did remember and manage to erase all memory of their involvement from the non-magic soliders and civillians, and thus likely would have little issues with applying themselves to the law in the US.

He took specific interest in Theseus, of who’s power and talent he had been informed already, and spent the following three years to furtherly train him, also to prepare him to eventually ascend to a leading position – highly considering passing his post on to him eventually.

Theseus flourished in the time they worked together and they formed a very trusting connection after a while. Graves yet noticed with concern that he increasingly let go of being a young rebel, became more and more attached to the establishment and couldn’t talk about what he had seen in the war. He tried to explain to him that if he wanted to be not only a true leader, but a man who was content with himself and his life, he would have to overcome his past and learn to live with every part of himself. This was one of the few things Theseus heavily struggled to perform.

Graves knew that it would take him a long time to heal from what had happened, but before they could manage to reach much progress, the wizarding society in Europe learned of what had happened in WWI. In the countries where they had been removed from their jobs, the demand became louder to drop all charges against and  reinstall the “war heroes” in their old positions. When the ministries finally discussed this topic and agreed to do so, Theseus asked Graves to let him return to England. He explained that he needed to be there for his family – especially his younger brother, who he explained had massive problems with human relations, the most required being with him and his mother. Graves didn’t like to do so, but understood – with the slight hope that perhaps his family would help him to return to being the man he used to be.

The day he left, they said goodbye with Graves reminding him once again that the past was a part of him now, and that he would one day have to find peace with it and the man he truly was - also to be the best possible guard for England, if that helped him. He agreed, but did not say anything more … instead shook his hand one last time , thanked him for everything, and, after a moment of hesitiation, embraced him. Graves realized this small sign of hope and pressed him to his chest with one arm, then wished him the very best for his life.

As Theseus went down the hallway of the American auror’s department, a group of apprentices from another state arrived. As he walked past them, he felt a look – when he turned, a young woman with large dark eyes quickly looked down. When they stopped before the door to the office hall, she turned again – he smiled friendlily and she snapped back around, blushing madly. He carried on, still thinking about those pretty dark eyes and hair all the way home.

He didn’t know that six years later, she would tie him to a chair within three seconds – and he would sit down on his own when she would tell him that the MACUSA didn’t have any information on Graves’ whereabouts … and neither of them knew that he was closely keeping track of his two favourite students lifes from a distance and, concerning the war, was more hopefull than he had been in years when he learned that they had met.

Tears welled slightly in her eyes as she wrapped her arms around the auror, trying to hide the tears falling as she leaned into his chest. “You are too good.” She whispered, “You are far too kind and good. And that’s my favorite thing about me too.” She laughed a little, looking up at him though not lowering her attack around his middle. “I love you, Theseus.” She smiled, happy tears falling from her eyes. “You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you for letting me be yours.”

Theseus headcannon.

"Gramander theseus don't know how to act." A small headcannon I acquired about theseus being as overprotective as I've seen people assume he is, but also not being on speaking terms with newt as I've seen others say. Theseus is an asshole, but one that gets on well with the in crowd. He loves his younger brother, but he absolutely hates his life choices. Because of the explosive arguments between the two of them based on how much Theseus can't stand Newts careless behavior for his own well-being, they don't speak much, if at all. If they write, it's usually a formality to reassure Theseus that Newt is alive and well, or as well as can be expected. The animosity started while Newt was still a child. He would spend more time with his mothers hippogriffs than with human children, Theseus would get irritated at his small brother for being weird. Then later, Newt started defending creatures from cruel kids, often taking the brunt of the attacks, Theseus would be the one to inevitably sweep in and make those other children understand that he would in no way tolerate the behavior. When Leta Lestrange happened, Theseus was furious. After Newt had been expelled and removed from Hogwarts, there was a period of time that no student, or even professor, could have told you where Leta had been. Theseus had made sure that she would never so much as look in the general direction of his brother again. Then as adults, or close enough to it, Theseus had garnered enough attention as a powerful auror to talk his brother into a position among the ministry of magic that would cater to his little brothers peculiar talents with beasts. The straw that broke the camels back, however, was when Newt would not only defend dangerous creatures from humans, but also other creatures. Theseus couldn't very well wreck the lives and minds of creatures for harming his brother. Of course, when the war came around and Newt tried so hard to rescue and rehabilitate dragons, of all possible beasts, Theseus had screamed so hard at him, that by the end, Newt was in tears and to Theseus’s horror, didn't even bother to retaliate, just wandered off and had stayed away from him for several months after. The first thing he'd heard of his brother after that fight wasn't even an absolute. There were rumors going on about a man on the front lines, a literal dragon tamer. Theseus knew it was Newt, but no one else seemed to know. It was because of this knowledge that Theseus became the so known ‘war hero’. He'd gone out, against orders, to find and protect Newt. He hadn't realized that he was walking into the middle of the front lines, that he would have to make decisions that would have cost the war had he not been the one to subdue the general and take charge of the whole front.  Of course, all he'd wanted to do was chastise Newt for his recklessness, even if his brother had been saving not only the creatures being used to torment their own forces, but saving the imprisoned wizards as well. That was how Theseus had met his professional writing companion in person. Percival Graves had been captured by the opposition and Newt, with his dragon whispering, had been among the rescue party. Theseus had just been pleased that he'd caught up to his idiot brother finally. Of course he'd been dragged into true war efforts immediately and had never had the chance to truly dress down his brother. Of course, no one knows that the dragon tamer is Newton Scamander, he wears such heavy and thick armor, that even though Theseus can see his brothers eyes hidden behind a helmet and black paint, even he has trouble matching his brothers face to the broad and supposedly thick body standing with the dragons. And now, as he still writes to Percival Graves, he notices the man becoming more distant, getting short with him. He's tempted to ask what's gotten into the man, but he knows that the entire Wizarding world is on edge by Grindelwald’s disappearance, so he lets it slide. But Graves knows, he knows, how Theseus responds to Newts antics, and how Theseus would kill for his brother without so much as a wink of sleep lost, so when Graves seems to humor him, informing him that ‘your impudent little brother is in New York, meddling, and causing a ruckus.’ Theseus responds in kind about how his little brother is a useless incompetent and if Graves isn't careful will probably take down his entire city on accident. But the response he gets doesn't border, it's a bared teeth of a threat, ‘luckily we won't have to worry about his incompetence much longer. I'll have it taken care of.’ Theseus’s reply is a demand to know and understand exactly what Graves means. He doesn't receive a reply. He goes to America. By the time he gets there, traveled by muggle means ugh so slow, he finds a battered and bruised, and more thoroughly scarred little brother. ‘Newt. I swear, you and your damned menagerie can't stay out of trouble for more than three consecutive minutes!’ ‘it's not that bad Theese, just a misunderstanding and -’ ‘I know those scars Newton! Don't you dare ‘it's not that bad’ me! I know what they are from and I damn well know Frank didn’t do it! Where is the bloody-’ ‘it wasn't mister Graves faul-’ Graves. He fucking knew it. That bastard had dared lay hands on his little brother. Not just hands but harmful magic. Theseus would drop his badge at the door and destroy Percival Graves for harming his brother. Destroy him. Of course, the moment he lays eyes on Graves, the man looks worse than Newt did. So much worse. And Theseus is sure that Newt didn't do this to the man. Graves looks up at him as he storms in, about to give this supposed asshole a piece of his mind about how to treat his little brother, and Graves just gives him this peculiar look, like he's surprised and curious and almost smiling and that strikes something in Theseus’ skull. Red flags and alarms. Newt practically knocks him down in his haste to get between the two of them. Not that he's aware of just how far Theseus is willing to go for his brother, but because he's seen that look on his brother's face before, just before he took out platoons of wizards on the battlefield. So here's Newt, trying to defend a man that, to the best of Theseus’ knowledge, not only attacked him, but used a bloody cruciatus curse on him. It almost hurts Theseus to see Graves face fall from an almost happy-to-see-him, to a look of worry shifting between fear and caution. Almost. But then Newt is trying to bodily shove Theseus out the door, and since when did Newt have even a fraction of the muscles to manage that? And of course, Newt fills him in on what's happened. How Graves hasn't been Graves for months, but Grindelwald. And that just opens a pit of dread inside Theseus, Grindelwald, one of the most dangerous wizards known to them, not only impersonating one of his external friends, but also discreetly taking over the magical congress of the United States! But as Newt babbles on and on about “Grave- sorry, Grindelwald,” Theseus gets more of the story. And more rage building than ever before. After hearing the the man not only affected Newt, his precious baby brother, with the cruciatus curse, but he'd also sentenced him to death. Theseus was more than willing to walk his way right down to this dark wizard and murder him for so much as daring. Apparently, Theseus can miss out on a lot in the week it takes to travel to New York.
