#ive been on a bit of a su kick recently i was rewatching some episodes #just kinda picking and choosing them though but i’ll probably do a full rewatch sometime soon #still really really like this show :] i didn’t realize just how much i missed it #ive never posted or said anything about it before but this show was so huge to me and i think it really holds up still #hard to believe its 10 years old later on this year. grew up on this #lapis was always one of my favorites i think. i remember rewatching her debut episodes over and over again when i was younger #sorry for being sentimental on my not-quite-art blog im just going insane about an old favorite #man i hate how its an. old favorite to me now. absolutely horrid #anyways i hate the passage of time but i think im too young to think that #steven universe #lapis lazuli su #probably wont be posting anything else su related i just had to get it out of my system after rewatching alone at sea earlier

It's funny how big of an impact things we watch as we grow up leave.

Like I just read an article interviewing Alyson (last name not remembered) who played Lunnette the clown on The Big Comfy Couch.

My parents and I still quote things from the show. One line in particular.

"Who made this big mess!?"

Then we give blame to who did. Messy hair day, still referred to the person as Major Bedhead. We'll still even reference Molly the dolly.

The Big Comfy Couch is hardly the only thing that gets referenced.

There are still times when (though my brothers don't really know the show) that we reference Skinnamarink TV with Sharon Lois and Bram. Especially some of their songs. (Skinnamarink-y dinky do- I love you. I love you in the morning and in the afternoon. I love you in the evening and underneath the moon...)

Ants in the Pants is another one that still gets a reference at times and that show had some fun music on it. Songs that I still think about to this day.

I still think about Babar a lot, but we don't necessarily reference it, though I do like to pull out (moonmen never kid) at times. I also still think about Theodore the Tugboat and will go and listen to the theme song at times.

And of course there are the classics like Little Bear, Franklin, Arthur and others, but they're not ones that necessarily actually get directly referenced. Though I'm sure that there are many shows that I'm missing.

Anyways that's just my little musing on kid shows.

#there's just something so comforting about certain kid shows #not all of them are rewatchable as an adult but quite a few actually are #like I still love Babar and will go and watch it again the sound track for the show is delightful and leans classical making it timeless #and Gordon Pinsent as older Babar's voice is so soothing #my tastes in kid's shows do tend to lean very Canadian but considering that I am Canadian I think that makes sense #like Babar. Theodore. Big Comfy Couch. Skinnamarink TV. Ants in the Pants are all Canadian and have stuck a deep cord within me #let alone Mr. Dressup who I didn't touch on and he's a Canadian icon to people over a certain age #people around my age are kind of the last ones to really know Mr.Dressup and I was already on reruns #my parents and I still reference the tickle trunk or the owl and his twit ta wo twit ta we #anyways I just love old kid shows and while I don't have any kids currently I have previously thought that I would #want to show them the shows that I grew up on moreso than anything modern at least to some degree

beginning to understand what iketani meant with working on your own car makes you fonder of it bc i just replaced my brake discs and brake pads all on my own and the sense of pride and love for my car is unlike anything ive ever felt man

#ngl feeling so accomplished #even if it took me three hours bc my entire body weight was not enough to get the old rusty crusty dusty 17 year old discs off #had to ask the garage owner for help #not gonna lie when he showed up w a whole ass hammer he kinda scared me but #guess it was necessary??#anyways yippieeeee new brake discs #ventilated ones!!#honestly getting everything off was the hardest part #putting everything back on was basically just reverse engineering #man the new discs are so shiny every time i pass my car now im like ooh shiny #like what am i #a bird??#also shoutout to the 3mm of brake pad left on my old brake pads i cannot for the life of me believe my car stopped with those #took them out was like ''oh there's still quite a bit left'' then compared them to the new pads and there was a whole centimeter difference #like oh lawd.#BUT WE DID IT #IM SO HAPPY #my babygirl (read: car) was so brave #i hope i wont have to do this again anytime soon bc #do i feel proud #yes #do i have crippling anxiety that i messed up somewhere despite following The ChrisFix Tutorial and asking for a once-over by the garage owne #also yes #but f it we ball #iketani was right that shit do make u feel very proud #ok that's it that's my rambling for today #for the stray person reading this ily

Rewriting pinestars choice where he decides you know WHAT I’m taking my wife and children with me. Leopardfoot gets the cushy life she deserves, and mistkit and nightkit live because they get proper medical attention at a young age, and tigerstar becomes a kittypet that may or may not still turn evil. I just think that pinestar not taking his family w him is a plot hole I feel like he would have taken them considering he knew the stars had cursed tiger to damnation. Leopardfoots age is very unfortunate I’m going to chock most of that up to bad writing and the warriors teams blatant insidious misogyny instead of pinestar being a predator. Leopardfoot is still a very young warrior but she’s a warrior before she catches pinestars eye. The babies are born and they are small and weak and sick, pinestar has no idea what to do. Doestar visits him and insists he kill his son. He sees goosefeather watching his kits in the medicine den with hatred. He cannot live here anymore. So he bursts in a tells his wife to take the kits and come with him, they’re going somewhere. They arrive to twolegplace and Leopardfoot is like “YO hey what the fuck why the fuck are we here” and pinestar is like haven’t you seen??? Haven’t you noticed the hatred???? The violence??? They are so sick. The stars we’ve followed our entire lives want me to murder our child we must escape to safety. Leopardfoot is like Oh shit. Okay then. And jake shuttles them to safety. As Leopardfoot is taken in with the kittens, this is where pinestar goes back to make an announcement to his clan that he’s leaving and he’s already taken the wife and kids so BYYYYYYEEEE. Kittypet lavish living forever after the end.

#can you imagine you’ve been feeding this incredibly old and battered scarred cat for a few weeks now #it’s very friendly and seems interested in you and your home #you are excited to obtain a new cat when he is ready #THEN BOOM. he shows up at your back door with his wife and three incredibly sickly kittens #you taken them inside and he immediately runs off #and you’re like aw man. I got fucking kitten trapped #the mama is scared and you aren’t quite sure what to do #then like an hour later the cat comes back and he stays for good #you now have a little cat family living in your home #the good ending fr #anyways #pinestars choice #Leopardfoot #pinestar #warrior cats #warriors

im strugglin so hard with nano this year cos i don't have a set plot yet and getting my brain to start chugging along the tracks to make this set of disjointed ideas into a plot is HARDDDD

#original writing when you won't be like. paid for it. is quite hmmm #requires a lot of willpower #i like to slap down plots that i know could become things but actually writing them #yeah. i just need to kick myself into gear and finish writing the plot so i can start to write the meat which will be fun. or more fun.#but the effort required. ough #anyway if anyone has any interest u can ask me about my ocs either for new book (ghosties) or old book (historical one)#honestly at some point i gotta work the other way and go interesting characters put them into a plot #bc i keeeep going plot first characters later #and all my favourite shows and books and movies are all character motivated! characte rfirst! but i never do that myself!
