chat how do you know if you’re a therian or not because i am CONFUSED 😭

i don’t really think i’ve had any “past lives” as an animal or anything like that but i don’t feel 100% human either.

i like my human body (most of the time) but god i would kill to have paws and fangs and claws or a TAIL!!! i would love to be able to yip and bark without feeling weird about it

i have moments where i have a big longing to be a coyote/canine, but it’s not very often

i like referring to myself as a coyote, and i have a couple friends who refer to me as nonhuman and it feels great! but i don’t know if “therian” would be the right word? idk man 😔

I remember when I was young, laying in my mother’s chair on Christmas waiting for Santa to come, and thinking of how nice it would be if I had wings

I could feel them pressed against by back, folding around me to keep me warm

I could feel my dark feathers brush against my skin

I thought it was because I wanted to be a Pegasus, because I loved my little pony so much

But now I know what it is

I remember wishing I had claws, and I still do. I can feel them beneath my nails, threatening to burst out, much like the horns I used to have that would point high up to the sky.

I remember feeling the burning heat of fire against my face from the fire pits my father used to make, and being overcome with such a sheer sense of familiarity

I’m not human.

I’m a demon.

Trapped in this feeble mortal body, wanting to be free.

That is who I am.

But people dont see that on the outside

And I do not see that when I look in the mirror

They just see a human.

i think being a cat would fix me. fully nothing to do with petplay or being a furry. i just wish i was able to curl up in someone's lap with a quiet mind and soft fur. i wish i could be loved no matter who i was or what i did, whether i slept cutely all day or ran around breaking shit at 4 am on a weeknight. i wish i didn't, couldn't, care about finding talents or passions or careers. i wish my only worry was if my food would be on time.

being a cat sounds a whole lot better than this.
